Is MC gender-locked female & are the main love interests gender-locked male?

Currently, yes. Right now, it's just easier for me to write if I have consistent variables and characters in my head. It also helps me focus on just finishing the stories because I want to make sure each route gets the attention it deserves. Rest assured, I WILL introduce more gender options for both the MC and the main love interests, and it will be something I keep in mind as I'm writing!

How long is this game going to take to complete?

Unfortunately, it's probably going to take a really long time. This is one of the most ambitious writing projects I've done and life is unpredictable but I will do my best!

due to the nature of my blog normally I wouldn't even bring this up but a) I'm bored while IT is working on my computer (AGAIN) and b) i like a good discussion.

I'm gonna skip over the obvious fallacies of shadamy being a fake ship (bc what does that mean, I have no idea) and that SEGA never acknowledges it (they clearly have) or markets Shadamy (if the Shadamy Sakura series and them being marketed together didn't clue them in, then they are willingly ignorant abt it lol)

I did want to discuss the Amy Rose Minnie Mouse aspect and her "purpose of the franchise" bc i actually have a lot of thoughts to this! And before I go one, it should go without saying but I do love SonAmy, it's very cute and they're characters who can have good chemistry and deserve good things! Anyway, here's my thoughts.

Amy being created to be Sonic's Minnie Mouse as far as I had read it was pressure from the company to make Sonic more marketable (i.e. adding girl character, hero saves damsel quests etc). What i love about how they went about it was flipping the script, especially for the era, it was more commonplace for damsel characters to be the sweet, love interest (Minnie, princess peach, princess daphne) that the hero pursues as a goal to complete as well as a reward for his efforts.

Sonic being adverse to Amy's advances, who is supposedly created to be the love interest, is unique and adds to his personality which was a really good move imo. it added to the edge that Sonic kind of gives as a protagonist, his sass, his impatience, his cock sure nature while also being altruistic and loyal of course, but him viewing Amy as a friend that he occasionally has to rescue and bear the affections of is objectively silly and fun.

Now, pertaining to Amy's purpose of the franchise being Sonic's endgame love interest, I do take a lot more issue with. Not only does it invalidate Amy's space in this franchise, making her no more than a romantic reward for the ending of Sonic's hero's quest (because, if SEGA thinks Sonic won't "slow down" for Amy now, it implies he will have to undergo some sort of change or, less noble, when he seems himself ready to reciprocate Amy's feelings on his terms, irregardless of how long he makes Amy wait for him) but it also ironically makes Sonamy make less sense canonically.

Like, if Amy is only meant to work as Sonic's female, romantic counterpart, why does SEGA not let it happen canonically? Because it's not a ship war thing honestly, most of the GP already assumes they are and there's plenty of valentines merch to suggest otherwise, so...why not just do it? probably because it doesn't make sense for Sonic's character and I don't just mean for SonAmy, honestly, I mean it for any and all Sonic ships. It isn't that Sonic doesn't love or wouldn't have romantic feelings, it's that I think he doesn't allow himself those attachments. Friends are everything in this world and I've always loved this franchise for showcasing an array of lovely strong friendships, but the difference in friends and significant others is that there's compromise, there's balance, there's giving up things, there's building a home and a family and doing things as 2 as opposed to only needing to worry about yourself. friendships are no less of a love than romance but there's also a lot more grace in friendships when it comes to responsibilities and emotional compromises. I'm getting into the weeds a bit here but what I mean to say is that Sonics character doesn't make sense for a romantic partner, free like the wind and on an eternal hero's journey. It has also never appeared to be a want of his to be able to have these things (but im willing to be proven otherwise) Maybe down the road it would, but that's not fair to Amy or any other partner for that matter. Amy's whole world doesn't need to revolve around waiting for her hero to be ready to accept her, especially to a character so full and rich in love and affections to give.

It doesn't escape me that one of Amy's most defining and strongest showing was because of Shadow. This is kind of where I can get extremely biased and go on and on about how great a story arc would be for Shadamy to become endgame. Briefly, Sonamy being canon kind of takes away from Sonic's character, while Shadamy enriches. Amy who obsesses and does everything for the attention of her first love finding her own purpose and making her world bigger by being her own hero which was the case for her finding her courage after feeling useless by helping Shadow to remember his promise just by being herself. Shadow who is jaded and hurt and isolated from friends and the world he now lives in finding love and affection and strength in those things because of Amy Rose's big heart. Idk, it's all very poetic to me.

So in conclusion, Sonamy and Shadamy good, but writing wise, Shadamy has a lot more going for it. One of my irl friends who watches sonic things over my shoulder has always taken issue with Sonamy being the canon default bc of her pursuing and Sonics pushing away. When I introduced her to the idea of Shadamy she hoped on with more enthusiasm haha probably bc it was around the mosth era and that was a pretty good showing for them haha. anyway. these are my humble thoughts. I'm not all knowing of this franchise or think myself correct in every way but idk. I don't think its fair to rule out character shipping just bc it wasn't the original intention. that happens all the time with things after all (RIP canon zutara) so maybe op can take a chill pill 😅

What yanderes in One piece would handle the fact that their darling is a captain of their own crew best vs yanderes who can’t handle the fact that their darling has her own crew ? Love to hear your thoughts on this

I actually had an easier time choosing people who wouldn’t handle this well than the other way around but I believe that I have found 5 characters for each case.

First of all, the Yandere needs to be patient because darling being a crew means that they are going to be separated at times. The Yandere also needs to be secure within the relationship to not fall victim to jealousy and also can’t be too overprotective as otherwise darling wouldn’t be allowed to sail alone.

With that in mind I would choose Jinbei as my first pick. From the Straw Hat Pirates he's generally one of the most composed characters who is still going to be overprotective but who could handle his darling being captain of their own ship as long as he knows that they're formidable and that their crew is loyal and strong.

Another Straw Hat Pirate I could see dealing with darling being their own captain alright would actually be Franky. He'd most likely do a lot of his poses whilst screaming just how super his darling is. But I totally can see him building some sort of GPS into the gadget he creates for his s/o so he can always know where they are in case something should go wrong.

Bartolomeo has to be the biggest simp only beaten by Sanji and Boa but differently from those two I can actually see him accepting the fact that his darling would be a captain. With that said that guy is so unbelievably clingy that he would definitely make an alliance with his darling's crew to still spend as much time as possible with them. Also, he's totally swooning whenever his darling fights though he will protect them with his Devil Fruit if things should go out of hand.

Talking about simps, let's talk about Buggy. Whilst I definitely think there are going to be issues due to his jealousy the sole reason why he wouldn't dare to speak up is because Buggy is the type to be easily terrified, even by his darling. Even if he would have dared to start an argument he would falter the moment his darling gets mad with him in which case he would immediately pull back out of fear to have you hate him. Nevertheless, he is going to be your biggest cheerleader and Crocodile and Mihawk will agonise over his constant simp rambles.

As my last pick from this list I am going to choose Marco from the Whitebeard Pirates. Talking romantically, he is absolutely capable of allowing his darling to be the Captain of their own crew because if they have made it to the New World where he has most likely met them then that means that they and their crew are strong enough to survive. Being in a relationship with him means being part of Whitebeard's family though so that also gives some additional protection because few want to mess with a Yonko.

Now we will go over characters who will absolutely not accept darling being the captain of their own crew.

We're going to start with Sanji and that should really be no surprise. That man is jealous of everyone beneath, above and beyond the heaven who gets close to his darling so darling having their own crew would be devastating for him. The mere thought of separation tears his heart into shreds and he would probably threaten every crewmate of darling as he fears that they will try to snitch them away from him because of course they would. You're far too beautiful after all.

Boa is in a very similar category as Sanji, especially in the department of jealousy. No one, absolutely no one should even dare to look at her darling or she will turn them into stone. She would cease to be of heartbreak as she is far too possessive to let her darling leave her, especially in the company of such crude and ugly people.

I actually don't consider Law to be able to accept his darling being a captain either. He may not be the most loving person on the outside but he is deeply attached to them and a terrible overthinker. He doesn't want them to travel somewhere far away without him with people he doesn't know and doesn't trust, especially if you have no capable doctor on board like he is. He'd probably end up critising everything about you and your crew without caring for the positives. He'd be just a pure bundle of bitterness.

On a similar note, Kid is going to struggle with a captain darling. Initially I don't consider him to be that opposed to the idea until he gets hit full force with that annoying possessive and angry obsession of his. Kid wants to be the coolest person in his darling's eyes. God, he is going to yell at everyone on your crew and he is going to yell at you.

Doflamingo is such an obvious choice that I honestly didn't want to include him at first but here we are anyways. From everyone I have mentioned of not being capable to let darling be a captain though he is going to be the worst. Simply spoken he will enslave you and your crew and is metaphorically and literally going to put you in a golden cage whilst your crewmates are never to be seen again.

That said, I'm looking forward to seeing more of this side of Charles, because for Max this is normal (he's an unreliable narrator), and the only times we can see how possessive he is is when we see someone else's POV, like Daniel.

thank you for picking up what I've been subtly putting down! yeaaaaah they've both got problems, it's just that charles' tend to manifest in attachment issues- attachment to ferrari, attachment to his ghosts, attachment to max. (yes, max is an unreliable narrator. so is charles.)

if either max or charles were more well-adjusted, it wouldn't be a healthy relationship by any means, but they kind of balance each other out from what would be toxic otherwise. max with the unrelenting need to not be left behind- he almost demands that charles stay with him in search history. charles with the possessiveness that max is only his, no one else can have him.

they fit together- charles provides the obsessive dedication that max needs, and max provides almost complete devotion to charles. (you see it a bit in chapter 18 of SH, where max thinks about how he'll be whatever charles needs, without regard for himself.) (you also see it throughout SH- charles is always there. He's either there, or he's flying out, or he's following after max. if you take a step back, you'll realize sometimes charles is on his way before max even needs him- he was going to show up anyways.)

the only time you see a shift in that dynamic is when daniel is involved. this has to do pretty completely with what daniel has done for max, and the way he was there when charles wasn't. charles isn't a fan of anyone else meaning that much to max by any means- but he can see where daniel has helped support and teach max, and he can see that they have a special relationship.

he does have his own fair share of issues with it (walking in on them at the party) but he grapples with those a bit in 1+1+1, where the three of them actually navigate a dynamic together.

I believe the "Appendicishit" quote you're talking about is this one:

"He's starting to think Charles has been loyal even longer."

max has finally realized in that quote that he and charles have been intertwined in their relationship for longer than he initially assumed- max only starts thinking about charles in an admittedly romantic way when he gets his tonsils taken out in "Dad- I mean, GP-", and even then it's begrudging, not something he's willing to admit. (not sober, anyways.)

you'll notice in the charles POV I posted that max kisses charles when they're younger, and that's pretty much the moment charles locks in and decides that yes, it's max, it's always going to be max.

this is obviously a couple years before max figures that out, because max doesn't remember kissing charles, so he's a little bit behind in that sense. charles also struggles while in F1 about not wanting to love max, because bad things happen to people he loves.

max only allows himself to think about charles when he's intoxicated or otherwise under the influence (daniel and carlos have heard a lot about charles).

I may write an outsider POV of someone else where they're a liiiittle bit concerned about just how intertwined max and charles are. debating on who would be best to showcase that at the moment.

i've been holding my tongue a whole lot ever since the beginning of the season, but Miami has just made me lose it.

mclaren seriously needs to get a grip and get their priorities straight. ever since australia, they have done nothing but fuck up lando's races with shitty strategy calls, missed pitstop opportunities and stupid radio messages.

yesterday, after the whole turn 2 fiasco between max and lando (which max should have received a penalty for), zak brown went on to give an interview after the race to say that he respects max and to keep defending him? over his own driver? excuse me?

mclaren would be nothing without him. he bleeds papaya, he is loyal to that team beyond belief when, maybe, he shouldn't have been.

he's helped rebuild that team, sacrificed years of his career (from 2019 to the second half of the 2023 season) driving a fucking tractor, all while helping mclaren find their path again and come to have the best fucking car on the grid. need i remind them, if lando hadn't been so focused and calm during the Abu Dhabi GP last year, mclaren wouldn't be champions? oscar got taken out of the contention for a win because of max, everything was riding on lando and he delivered an absolutely amazing performance.

how can you even say that oscar is a better driver than lando when he came to the team when they were already finding their footing? he only had a bad car for half a season in 2023, whereas lando drove a tractor for almost 4 and a half years. how can you say that????

i like oscar, believe me, i do, but this is not fair. backing him up and doing everything in your power to prioritize oscar's race and hanging lando out to dry? in jeddah, lando was looking to extend his first sting, having just taken the lead and finally driving in free air, and then what happens? oscar complains about the dirty air from lando and mclaren pit him, therefore oscar becoming the leader once again and winning the race.

Yes, completely agree. As I outlined here, I think Charles is and has been stalling negotiations. I'm not entirely sure whether he's been stalling them for a while (ie. since the summer) or whether this is a recent development with the way this season has gone after the summer break, (considering when there were rumours of a 35 million € per year 5 year contract floating around in August Charles said he wish they were true). Either way, it seems these articles today about Ferrari trying to pursue a contract extension with Charles are a deliberate leak by Ferrari to try and force Charles to the negotiating table, and put the spotlight on Charles and his contract. Although, if that's the case, I reckon it's backfired a little bit as the overwhelming public response to those articles has been that Charles should go nowhere near a new contract with those clowns.

This is absolutely dire for Ferrari. As my colleagues and I have pointed out on #Lestappen Gate 2023, that second Red Bull seat is being nicely lined up for Charles. I think it's pretty obvious at this point that he's Red Bull's first choice to fill that seat in 2025 . Ever since Monza, when no contract extension materialised (which was the first sign that something was off between Charles and Ferrari), Red Bull have: said they intend to sign two number one drivers (drastically changing their narrative from earlier in the year) with Max specifically saying he thinks him and Charles could be teammates (also changing his narrative from earlier in the year), had Charles's onboards up at at least two races alongside their actual signed drivers (Mexico and Brazil GPs). This doesn't even begin to cover the whole PR net that they've managed to weave, from the increase in Max and Charles content (driven largely by the RBR social medias! F1 and Ferrari social media have contributed, but this is largely reactionary), to Christian greeting Charles in front of the press and Netflix in Brazil. This past month has been a pitch by Red Bull to try and convince both Charles and the general public that Charles should fill that seat in 2025. And it's largely worked on the general public! It hasn't quite filtered through to commentators yet, but the idea of Charles in a Red Bull is all over social media and in Ferrari replies, I can confidently say that there's a zero chance that Charles's hasn't seen it. The last great question is whether the pitch has worked on him or not.

In a way, we're in a very different situation to a month ago, when everyone was full of bravado and pretending like they didn't really care/everything was fine. The parties involved are beginning to show their hands now–Ferrari is falling apart at the seams and can barely be called a race team anymore and yet is desperate to not lose Charles, Charles is refusing to enter proper contract negotiations and is threatening to leave unless Ferrari gets its shit together in an extremely short timeframe, and Red Bull is eagerly lurking and hitting Charles with constant reminders in their press and race reports that he is a champion and deserves better. The game is a lot more transparent now, but as a consequence just got a whole lot messier.

As a footnote as well, we haven't really touched on the Carlos situation much and that really requires a whole separate analysis, but it makes things even messier for Ferrari. It's quite obvious that they won't re-sign both Carlos and Charles and are not entering negotiations with Carlos until Charles is sorted (as semi-confirmed by the Sainz family's shady twitter activities). With Charles stalling negotiations like this, Ferrari could end up in a situation where they lose both Charles and Carlos.

So my main take away from this is that I definitely do not want to be Fred Vasseur at this instance.

i am peppering in a lot of clues about carlos having such a different b-side plot from oscar to the point where it is literally very much that spongebob image but they take turns each GP. huge difference is that for oscar the conflict is internal whereas for carlos it’s external, and that’s going to come to a boiling point for them both in bahrain.

from carlos’s point of view this story is just as messy and full of “oh fuck i really like him more than i thought and A THOUSAND TIMES more than i should how the hell am i getting out of this moving car”. but for carlos it’s also compounded by a LOT of outside elements that he has ZERO control over this season. like look at the last weeks from his perspective man it’s soooo. career change from a WCC-leading car to a mid-field car so difficult to handle it got me starting an affair with my former teammate’s ex. i put on a confident face and i know im doing the right thing for my future but they keep asking me about ferrari girl and they keep talking about like it it was my choice to leave the way i did. also my overbearing dad’s birthday is today and as a good loyal son gift i finished p20 in the car HE TOLD ME NOT TO DRIVE FOR. ykwim? like my man’s here

Hii Marte, I went to a few shows on Louis' last tour and it was completely different from the first. Most of his fans were either HetLouis or Solo Louie, so I think he achieved his goal. And honestly? I don't think he'll be out of pocket if larries decide not to come to his shows or support him anymore, he has a big strong fan base now that is happy to be manipulated by him

So you've said many times. I just don't understand why you use your own percieved demographics of who is attending your show as a measure for his current fanbase make up. Did you talk to everyone there? How do you know if they're larries or het louies? Did everyone bring signs with "pick me, daddy" on them? Or was it the lack of pride gear or flags that made you think so? How are you supposed to count the fans who lives where he isn't touring? Or me or half of tumblr who doesn’t go to his shows out of principle? Or the 30+ year olds who doesn’t want to attend a show filled with 14 year olds for a 33 year old artist?

Need i remind you that this was the audience at a Louis show in october 2023 from his latest tour?

Also, i'm not saying that there aren't a lot of het louies and solo louies. But overall his fandom is shrinking day by day. He's losing his core fanbase and is gaining some young solo louies. But it's a net loss. You can see it on his streams and his album sales. He used to have a strong loyal fanbase who had the fight in them to mobilise, to organise projects and to get him that number one with sheer determination. It was always lead by larries. And it was always motivated by the sense of Louis deserving better because he's forced to pretend to be someone he's not. The pride flags and rainbow light shows were to make the show a safe space for queer fans, who felt unwelcomed in fandom due to "Louis" lashing out and acting homophobic. It was also a protest against his image. Again, most if not all of these queer fans are larries. All the fans taking initiatives that turns out successful are larries.

So if you remove all larries, what are you left with? A bunch of teenagers who fight each other on social media for Louis to notice them and sleep with them (when he's 15 years older than them), yell at his management for bad promo while making things worse and policing each other into a fascist fandom where it's unpleasant to be. So when Louis' next album is filled with songs about Harry and he keeps trying to get across that it's all a copy of a copy of a copy, it will go over everyone's head because they're too busy trying to grope him at barricade. If Louis has any hope of getting men and the gp on board, and keep his fanbase from shrinking and his fandom from disintegrating, he needs to keep larries on as fans. Solo louies and het louies will never be able to replace or supersede larries in numbers.

Also, imagine how frustrating it would be for Louis losing every fan who's been there with him through everything, who understands his situation and get him, and being left with new and younger fans who only sees and loves him for his persona and will leave him when they realise he can't live up to their expectations of him. So sorry, Mac, but his fanbase isn't as strong and as large as you think it is anymore, it's volatile and fans are disengaging. He needs to do something to turn the tide and the negativity into positivity before fans starts to abandon him in droves.

buck is absolutely max verstappen-esque, a prodigy already a standout in karting but really caught the attention of several driver academies the moment he set foot in a single-seater

rough around the edges but with so much raw speed everyone Knows he's something special. aka the exact type the red bull driver academy of old would've loved

so he's signed, thrown into toro rosso/alpha tauri/vcarb (whichever name the faenza-based rb junior team is called at the time), impresses, gets promoted to red bull racing, becomes their Golden Boy. the One they rest their hopes and dreams on

his driving style is aggressive, daring, especially in his early years in the sport. maybe he causes a few incidents. maybe some other drivers aren't too fond of his antics. what of it?

but he's good, undeniably. and he mellows out over the years, though he never loses that edge, never afraid to push it right to the limit on track (just knows how to pick his battles now)

his attitude is a bit divisive with the audience, but he is well-liked in the paddock, even good friends with some of his peers. he is fiercely loyal to his team, absolutely intends to stay with them for the rest of his career (that's his Family), but does not put up with any shit and does not hold back from speaking his mind when he's unhappy with things

generational talent, even his detractors won't deny. won at least 3 world drivers' championships to show for it (i'm giving him 5-6 if we're going by buck's current canon age, but i'd probably age 'em down a bit if i ever were to flesh this au out further, for realism's sake)

bonus: buck fucking kills the grill the grid challenges every year, he is filled to the brim with trivia knowledge and hypercompetitive, that's His thing

tommy, on the other hand, is part of the old gen. nearing retirement at this point. well past his prime, but you don't get to stick around for this long if you aren't still good

where i envision a near one-on-one comparison to verstappen's career trajectory for buck, i don't exactly have a clear one for tommy's. but probably something halfway between fernando alonso and kimi räikkönnen

he's talented from the jump, but the timing is never quite right, always driving at his best during someone else's dominance. changes teams a fair few times. never quite lived up to his perceived potential. some may call it "poor career choices", but that's easy with hindsight

did one significant stint at a top team though and got one, maybe two wdcs out of it

"retires" a champion, does some other motorsport (rallying probably, maybe some nascar races for fun) comes back a year later for the love of the game

a known asset for any team due to his experience and renowned skills regarding car set-up and development

doesn't care much for the media side of things, has a bit of a reputation as standoffish, though every team will insist he's great to work with even if he doesn't socialize much

his illustrious career lends to some reverence though, some of the younger gen drivers may even name tommy kinard as their idol, if they were the right age to grow up watching him race at the peak of his success

as for current teams i'd put him in aston martin i think, alonso-like role. alpine would love to have him but anyone with a bit of reputation to spare would steer clear of that mess right now, sauber maybe but tommy's better than dead last, haas was an option but he's still a champion and they cannot afford a driver with that type of salary lmao

The Original creator of the Thrulls, Endrek Sahr was a member of the Order of the Ebon Hand, a depraved cult which operated upon on the continent of Sarpadia on the plane of Dominaria thousands of years ago. Sahr created the Thrulls initially as slaves and sacrifice fodder, but felt like his creations could be more, pushing him to create larger and more powerful Thrulls. These Ambitions led him to create the Derelor which, while physically powerful, consumed too many resources to be viable. As a result, Sahr was sentenced to death. But while history considers Sahr dead, there was a period in Dominaria's history where time and space became mutable, and Sahr may yet have escaped his unfortunate fate and lives on.

Endrek Sahr's Enchiridion

Endrek Sahr has access to numerous unique magic spells, some he created himself (Breeding Pit and Thrull retainer) and others which were created by the Order of the Ebon Hand. These spells can be found in Sahr's spellbook on his person, or an ambitious and unscrupulous wizard can learn the spells themselves under the evil wizard.

Thrull Retainer

1st level Necromancy

casting time: 1 action

range: An unoccupied space within 5 feet.

Components: V, S, M (at least half of a humanoid corpse or more)

duration: Concentration: up to an hour

This spell summons a single Servitor Thrull (descriped in Guildmaster's guide to Ravnica) Which loyally serves the caster to the best of its limited abilities. The Thrull will not move more than five feet away from its caster, and can be called upon to use its self sacrifice ability as a reaction.

Hymn to Tourach

2nd level Enchantment

Casting time: 1 action

Range: 60 feet

components: V

Duration: Instantaneous

Named for the evil cleric which founded the order of the ebon hand, the Hymn of Tourach requires the caster to unleash a dark infernal prayer to torment their enemies. One target within 60 feet must make a wisdom saving throw or be stunned until the end of your next turn. In addition, if the target was a spellcaster, they lose a spell slot of the highest level they are capable of casting.

Breeding Pit

Third Level Necromancy (Ritual)

Casting time: 10 minutes

Range: 120 feet

Components: V, S, M (a large hole, approximately 1,000 pounds worth of corpses, and alchemic potions equaling about 500 GP)

Endrek Sahr's masterpiece, this spell allows for the mass production of Thrulls on a massive scale. The Spell creates a breeding pit, a 10 foot wide, 80 foot deep pit filled with bubbling ichor comprised of numerous alchemic reagents and liquefied flesh.

Once per day, at sundown, a Servitor Thrull emerges from the Breeding pit, loyal to the caster who created the pit. So long as it is maintained, the Breeding pit will continue to produce new Thrulls in this manner indefinitely.

Maintenance of the Breeding Pit requires two things: First, the pit must be replenished with a periodic supply of new chemicals and corpses once a month, to the equivalent of one medium sized corpse and 50 gold pieces. More importantly, the Pit requires a constant source of magic to function. Each day, a spellcaster (not necessarily the one who created the pit) within 60 feet must sacrifice a level two or higher spell slot in order to keep the pit alive. Without this magic, the pit will dry up and die in a matter of hours.

There is no limit to the number of breeding pits that a single caster can create at one time, so long as the upkeep requiements are met.

Lyanna had woken at dawn. Like Charles, she had had a bad night. She had spent the hours after the door closed letting the tears flow until she was exhausted. She knew she had been hard on him. But she hadn't been able to stop herself. The Ferrari project seemed incredible and in other circumstances she would have jumped at the chance. But all her fears and doubts had resurfaced at breakneck speed. For a moment, she remembered why she didn't want to get involved with famous people. Her self-confidence was fragile, and a single grain of sand could shake the whole foundation she had built up. She loved Charles but she didn't want to live in his shadow, she didn't want to wonder if she was being offered great things just because she was associated with him. Her career was her baby, her purpose, her escape. A place where she had always felt free and for the first time, it was as if someone had suddenly taken the wind out of her sails.

So she contacted the last person she thought she'd contact one day, who arranged to meet her in a café not far from the station.

“I never expected you would use my phone number.” Told her Charlotte, sipping her cappuccino.

“Yeah, well never did I.” confessed Lyanna. “It’s just… I didn’t know who could understand. Beside Arthur. But I don’t want to put him between his brother and me.”

“You did the right thing. I know what it feels like. I understand you. But… can I be honest?”

“Go on.”

“Charles can be blind, can be stupid, can be too caught up in his little world sometimes, can be stubborn and can be naive but he is also the most loyal person I know. He has your back. He will always have it as long for as you want him. Because that’s how he is.”

“I just don’t want to live in his shadow and spend my time questioning everything.”

“That’s seems to be something that has more to do with you than with him. Listen, I’m going to be frank here. Whenever you’ll go out in Monaco with him, people will look at him and won’t care about you. You will always be his girlfriend. You are going to be seen with him at a GP, you will be talked to as his girlfriend. You attend an event sponsor related; you will be looked upon as his girlfriend. These are facts and you can’t do anything about it. The sooner you accept it, the better it will be for you. But he has no control over it. It’s not his fault. He didn’t dream to be a famous racing driver, he just wanted to drive an F1. Just like you didn’t dream of being a mega famous actress, you just wanted to make art. There are things on which you have control and others you don’t and have to learn how to let go. Of course you are going to have different opportunities now that you are with him. But does it make you less worthy if you take them? I don’t think so. As long as you make your choices with the heart at the right place, I don’t see the problem. You are not using him. He knows that. So chill girl.”

Her conversation with Charlotte had been strangely good for her. She felt calmer. Not more reassured, but at least she felt understood, that what she was feeling was normal and valid. Now it was up to her to decide how she wanted to handle the situation. Was she going to let her head rule her relationship or was she finally going to learn to let her heart do the talking? With her head full of questions, she made a diversion to the port and then to the beach, where she took off her shoes to feel the sand beneath her feet and the gentle crash of the waves tickling her toes.

She eventually returned to the residence with the firm intention of apologising. When she opened the door to the flat and expected to see Charles rushing towards her, she was surprised not to hear so much as a sound that she wondered if he was there. She found him sitting at the kitchen table, a cup of coffee by his side, tapping away on his phone. He saw her out of the corner of his eye but didn't move in her direction. Lyanna approached gently, opening her arms, silently asking for the comforting warmth of Charles's arms, but he remained still.

“You ran away again.”

It was not a question. It was a bitter fact. When she did not react, he continued.

“You promised that you were done with the running away when things get tough.”

“I needed some air. I did not run away.”

“You slept in the guest room because you did not want to face me, Lyanna.”

“I did not sleep well if it can make you feel better.”

“No. It doesn’t. Because you should not have slept there in the first place.”

“We were both angry.”

“We did not have to be.”

She lowered her head in shame before taking her place opposite him. His sea-green gaze locked with hers.

“I love you Lya, but I don’t know how long we can keep going like that. We need to learn how to communicate. You need to let me get through to you. I’m trying to but you are not letting me. We promised to stick to each other during good and bad times but, at the smallest difficulty you panic and you run away. That is not how relationships work. That is not how I want our relationship to work.”

“Are you breaking up with me?”

“Oh my god, Lyanna, no! See, this is what I’m talking about. It’s not because we face hardships that it means that it will be over for us. Communication and trust are what matter the most to me and lately it seemed that we are both failing at that.”

“Most of the time it comes from me… I’m still insecure about so many things. Maybe I should try to contact my therapist and schedule a few session to work on that. It could do no wrong.”

“If you think that it’s something that you need, I won’t stop you.”

“It’s just…” she sighed, trying to find the right words to explain her thoughts. “You know how important my job is, how much it’s a part of me, how hard it has been for me to get back to it after… you know. The last thing I want to feel is what I felt yesterday… To feel like a pawn.”

“I’m not saying that I understand what it feels like. I don’t think I can but, I don’t want to ever feel like I’m an obstacle to your career. I don’t want to be one. And yesterday it felt like that. I didn’t choose to be a public figure, it just happened. We both have very demanding careers, we both made a lot of sacrifices to be where we are at today, but our jobs don’t define us. You are much more than just an actress or my girlfriend and I wish you would see that. I did not fall in love with you because you were Lyanna Michel, we both know that I had not the slightest idea of who you were. I fell in love because you are compassionate, you are kind, you are funny, you are smart, and brave, and driven, and I could continue the list because it’s a long one. I believe in you Lya, and I’m your number one supporter, but I need you to believe in you too.”

Tears streamed down the young woman's face and Charles did his best to resist taking her in his arms. She had to understand. He might have been hard on her, but if this was the wake-up call she needed to move on, then it was the right thing to do.

“I’m sorry I keep letting you down. I’m trying to be enough. I’m trying, really hard.”

“You are enough, Lya. You are putting too much pressure on you. I don’t need you to be perfect, I just need you to be you. A happy you. You are letting me down when you shut me out, not when you doubt yourself or you are getting scared. I wish you would have talked to me about the movie and your fears and concerns. We would have found a solution. Together.”

“Sophia still sent me the script… she won’t tell the production I said no until I’ve read it.”

“And are you going to do it? Read it, I mean.”

“I… think so. You are right, I overreacted and got scared.”

“Okay. I’m glad. I have to leave for a few days to Maranello. Ferrari wants to shoot some things for the social media. It will do us good, I think. We will have time to think things through on our own.  And I was meant to ask, Silvia and the media team want to shoot some things with me here. They want you also in the video… I haven’t said yes to them, I want to know how you feel about it…”

“Maybe that if we do it, they will leave us alone…”

“Only if it makes you comfortable.”

“I’m an actress Charles. I can put on a show if I want to.”

In the end, what was supposed to last a few days turned into a week and a half for Charles. He was dragged back and forth between photoshoots, interviews and shooting stupid challenges with Carlos for Ferrari, clinical tests, and simulator work to make sure he hadn't lost any of his reflexes. In the end, he had very little time for Lyanna. He'd only spoken to her a few times on the phone, but the very few occasions he had, she'd told him that she'd actively taken up the sessions with her therapist, who'd decided to schedule consultations for her twice a week. Charles was pleased to hear her say that this was doing her a lot of good and that she was already seeing progress.

What Lyanna had not mentioned to Charles, however, was that her psychotherapy was not the only thing helping her to move forward. Surprisingly, she had become much closer to Charlotte, to whom she could confide her doubts and anxieties, because the young woman had gone through more or less the same things.

“The only big difference between you and me, is that you already have a successful career and no one can accuse you to use him for fame.”

“People find other things to criticize.”

“As always and there is nothing you can do about it.”

“How did you handle that? The expectations that come with being his girlfriend.”

“As cliché that it is going to sound, by trusting him and our relationship. There is no miracle solution. Charles returned a few days later. December was already well under way and Lyanna had started thinking about Christmas presents. She loved this time of year. Christmas romances, hot chocolate, silly jumpers, decorations, and festive entertainment. She just thought it was a shame that Monaco wasn't covered in snow. So when Charles pushed open the door to his flat and saw large boxes strewn about the floor with garlands of every colour, and the smell of biscuits coming from the kitchen, surprise and doubt could be read very clearly on his face.

He stepped forward cautiously, avoiding getting his feet caught in anything lying on the floor, and a smile spread across his face when he saw her humming a Christmas carol as she meticulously decorated a tray of biscuits.

“I feel like I'm entering Santa's world.”

“Charles! You are back!” she exclaimed as she was throwing her arms around him.

“I see you kept yourself busy.”

“I hope you don’t mind. I didn’t find any Christmas decorations at your place so I bought some… maybe I went a little overboard. Sorry.”

“Don’t be, it’s nice. I never decorate the flat because I’m never here during Christmas but if it made you happy, that is what matters the most. Speaking of Christmas… I gave that some thoughts and was wondering if you would like to spend it with me and my family in the mountains in Italy… that’s where I spend it generally so I can also prepare for the season. I would love to have you there but if you would prefer to spend it with your family I would understand.”

“I… well… I was not expecting you to ask me that. I did not make plans yet, but I guess I could come yeah. I would love to, actually. But in that case, maybe we can spend New Year’s Eve with my family? What do you think? We compromise. This year Christmas with yours and next year at mine?”

“It’s perfect for me.” He said while giving her a light kiss on the forehead. “I like when you talk about the future and I’m included in it.”

“Yeah, me too. It feels nice. I took the time to go through the script and to talk to Sophia about what I feared.”

“Yeah? It’s great, Lya. I’m proud of you.”

“I’m glad I did. Turns out we were both right… They don’t specifically want me because I’m your girlfriend, they wrote the character while having me in their minds which is very flattering. But they don’t hide the fact that since I’m your girlfriend it’s going to give a nice promo to the movie.”

“Okay. And what do you want to do? Are you still hell bent on saying no?”

“I said I was interested. I’m going to do some camera testing in the beginning of January in LA and they are hoping to start filming in late February. And the nice thing is that it will be shot in Italy, in Modena so I won’t be far from Maranello. You are definitely going to see me around.”

alright, person with the Realistic Fnaf Timeline Again.

gonna talk about Charlie because i thought of her again.

i'm actually gonna elaborate on what i meant by "Charlie is Great Pyrenees-coded." so like. that one post that goes around every now and then talking about GP? about how they're super chill and loving, but can be prepared to kick ass at the slightest hint of a threat? that's Charlie. even though she is seen as a really smart kid, it's also said that his heart is the only thing bigger than his brain.

like. Charlie is loyal and protective of her loved ones to a fault. he'll stick up for Sammy even if it's to his detriment (*cough cough* it's kinda what got her locked outside that day)

William and Henry were not careful enough around Charlie when he was little. he knows swear words and will use them.

all of the kids listen to Charlie, despite her not being the oldest, because they think she knows what she's doing. He Really Doesn't.

William's honestly scared of Charlie the most out of all his victims because, for one, he knows she's pissed at him and Also kinda wants him dead, and two, Marionn (what i call the Puppet) is over a foot taller than him. for reference, in my design, William's 6'7".

a fun fact about Marionn: it's actually a dog, specifically based around a Great Pyrenees. the out-of-universe reason? i saw a couple of Puppet Redesigns that made them into a dog and went ":0!!" so here we are. the in-universe reason? Henry had asked Charlie what kind the next animatronic he made should be, and misunderstood him (Charlie had said "doll," while holding up a doll Jen had made for her, but Henry thought she'd said "dog.")

Charlie's got...Some sensory issues, but one that's Slightly lore relevant is that he fucking Hates the feeling of wet clothes on his skin. if Charlie's already in a bad mood, that's a Very quick way to make it worse. I'll Let You Guess How This Is Lore Relevant.

Charlie has, on quite a few occasions, called William a dumbass to his face. before he died? after he died? Yes.

Putting a collar on max with a tag reading "RedBull" would be more subtle at this point.

He's like a weird sort of puppet for them. But a puppet that has incredible influence on team moral and general mood.

He's like in such a weirdly safe space for him. (Physically, emotionally he's not well. no one here is) like he has to be so well watched that they never let anything happen to him. especially not after his completely volintary stay with charles.

I am also still wondering on where he stands in the power-hirachy(?). Bc while he is so influential he has no clue about it before. But after he finds out are there some switches? or does he just express his desires a bit more clearly

you've kind of got the right idea with the puppet thing. it's also a little bit like a gilded cage? like, he's so well taken care of and he has all the right things, but he can't leave. sure, it's a big cage, but it's still a cage.

absolutely right on the safety thing though- physically, there is nowhere safer for max than with redbull. there's always eyes on him, GP and Christian both get an alert if his tracker picks up a sudden heart rate spike, he only goes to redbull approved spaces or parties at redbull owned bars. (except for rare occasions where he's been invited by another team, but even then he's still got eyes on him.)

redbull is pretty good about stretching the leash- max goes to other countries and has fun often, but he's never actually on his own. if he ever tried to get rebellious about that, he'd very quickly find out. (he still kind of finds out after the kidnapping thing, but redbull isn't upset with him in that situation. they're just very overbearing for a while.)

max has a unique spot in the power hierarchy, because he's somewhat outside of the traditional ladder.

he's extremely influential, he gets whatever he wants, the team basically revolves around him-

but he doesn't actually have any power. he's not a decision maker, he's not a planner, he doesn't handle the guns or the illegal deals or any of it.

once he's a little bit more involved after the kidnapping, he gets some say in a few things, mainly handling rookies. (even that is calculated- max is nice to them where everyone else is a little bit harsher, so they like max more, so they're loyal- you get the point.)

it's a convoluted situation. the team bends over backwards to take care of max, make sure he has what he wants and needs, gives him nice things- but at the same time, if max ever stepped out of line, suddenly the walls are closing in for him.

the way they handle "discipline" is complicated as well.

~An Alternative Path~

~Present time~

You never in a million years thought this trip would end like this...Your breath catches in your throat and your chest feels like it's going to burst. The thick pine trees seem like they last forever. The sharp pine needles cut your face as you run, but you don't dare stop.

It's behind you. It has to be. It hasn't stopped for the whole night. You're on the brink of exhaustion. You want to just give up. But no. You just can't. You've always heard stories of people who came into contact with death. How they heard those voices telling them to not give up. You always boiled it down to superstition, never giving it much thought. But here you were. The same little voice was now in your head. "Run.Don't stop.". You listened to it. You saw what that thing did to your friends. Well....people who you thought were your friends. There was no way you would willingly give up.

~5 hours prior~

"Play my song!!" Morgan whines for what seems like the 50th time. "No, my car .My music!" you tease. She just turns her head away from you. Her arms wrapped around her chest in a fake pout. You can barely see her face through her thick brown hair but you swear you see a smirk.

"Hey! Eyes on the road, pretty lady." your boyfriend Darren says while leaning up in between the two front seats of the car, kissing your cheek in the process. "You're lucky I don't wreck the car right now for that cringey nickname." you chuckle under your breath. Darren looks at you with a mock expression. "Cringey?! I think that nickname is far greater than any of the ones you've ever given me!" he says. Morgan chuckles at that. "At least Morgan here laughs at my jokes." Darren adds on, looking at Morgan for more than you would've liked him to.

Morgan and Darren had just met on this road trip. You felt kinda bad for not introducing Darren to her but...things were just too good. He was nice, funny, and hot. The kind of hot that made people's heads turn out in public. The 6'2, dark brown hair, muscular hot. Not to say that you didn't trust Morgan but...well you didn't trust her. You loved her and all, she was your best friend. But she did have the reputation of going from guy to guy. But here they are. Meeting at last. You couldn't help but feel like Darren's eyes would linger on her for too long. Or that she would laugh too much at his jokes. But you couldn't think like that. Morgan was your loyal friend and Darren was your loyal boyfriend.

It was crazy to realize that you and Morgan had been planning this trip for 3 months. She literally just came up to you and asked "Hey wanna go on a 7 hour road trip to North Carolina?" any normal person would say no. But since when were you normal? And when Darren figured out about these plans 4 days before the trip, who were you to tell him no when he asked to tag along? The trip had been pretty uneventful so far. Darren complaining about how long the trip was. Morgan gossiping about her new college roommate. You just listening. You had to admit the scenery was breathtaking. Hundreds of ginormous pine trees watching over lakes and mountains like a protective parent. If you didn't have to pay attention to the road, you could of just stared out the car window for what felt like forever. Looking back into the back seat you see Darren beginning to lay down to try to fall asleep. You knew you were in for a long road trip.

"Uhmm I think we're supposed to turn here." Morgan says while pointing to a deserted looking gravel road. "What? No. The GPS says we still have another mile?" you breathe out while shaking your head. "No 'name' , we are supposed to turn here!" she frantically blurts out as the car speeds towards it, the passageway was going to be completely closed in a few seconds. You would have to turn back around to get to it again. And with this heavy traffic you doubt that would be possible. So you decided to give in and turn into the path. You figured that once she saw that the dirt road led to nowhere you could just turn around and drive out the way you entered. You turn the steering wheel and head into the path. The scenery changes almost instantly. The once clear blue sky is now blocked off by even heavier and thicker pine trees than you saw before. The sunlight almost completely blocked out of your view.

30 minutes later, you're still on the same road. But at an ultimatum. The straight direct path you were following now splits into 2 roads. One goes left, the other goes right. "Any clue on which one to pick?" You ask Morgan with obvious anger in your voice. It was her fault that you were even here. "Not a clue." she whispers back. "What's going on here?" You hear Darren ask as he rubs the sleep out of his eyes. "Perfect timing" you think bitterly. The last thing you needed was for someone else to get on your nerves.

"Morgan here insisted that we go down this road! Even though it was nowhere on the map or the GPS! Now we are lost and the sun is going down." you spit at him. He looks at you then at Morgan. "Well let's not point fingers now. She didn't know the road was like this." He says crossing his arms over his chest. Is he serious right now? You felt your blood boiling. You instantly put the car in park, threw open your door, and began walking down the right pathway.

" 'Name'!" You hear Morgan yelling for you. You didn't care ,not one bit. After a bit you stop. 'Snap' 'Snap' . Twigs breaking. You look around. But you don't see anything. You swear you hear heavy breathing. It has to be your mind. You're angry. You're imagining things. You continue walking for what seemed like forever, only stopping when you hear 2 pairs of footsteps behind you. You turn around just to see them jogging to catch up with you. "What do you want?!" you ask, obviously trying to hold back your anger. "I just want to talk ,baby." Darren says while putting his hands on your shoulders. You felt like you were about to cry. You wanted to cry. Why was he taking her side? All he had done this whole day was look at her and make flirty remarks with her. AND she didn't try to get him to stop at all. She laughed way too much at his jokes and sent the same flirty look to him! "I just want to be left alone." You state. Morgan and Darren look at each other. After a few seconds of standing in silence Morgan finally speaks up. "Why are you getting so mad? All he did was stand up for me?" she asks with an angry tone. You look at her and was tempted to scream. "Exactly! That's all he's done today is flirt with you! Here I was thinking that you were actually a good friend and tell him to stop! But NO! You went along with it! While I was in the literal car Morgan!" You yell. Morgan looks at you, completely forgetting Darren was watching this as well and starts yelling back. "It's not his fault that he prefers me! But It is your fault that he had to go to someone else literally 4 weeks into y'all's relationship because you weren't enough!" When she's done yelling her face drops. There went their secret...You look at her then at Darren. His face is down, looking at his shoes. "What.." you whisper.. "Really Morgan?" he says obviously embarrassed. "I would've liked to tell her on my own terms.".

You knew it. You just knew it. "I knew it. I knew it. I knew it." Those 3 words kept repeating in your mind. You knew that the connection they shared couldn't be gained in a day. You knew you weren't imagining the looks and the blush on Morgan's face whenever he would look at her. You knew it.

You look at Darren. A question in your mind but you don't dare ask it. As if he is a mind reader, Darren speaks up. "Me and Morgan met at a party a few months back....we kinda...well...slept together.." he says while looking at you. Your mind is blank. All you want to do is cry.

You take a few steps forward and before you know what you are doing you raise your hand and make contact with Morgan's face. You look down at your hand and look back at her. Her mouth is hung open. Her right hand is placed on her face that now has a red mark.

Darren steps in front of her and shoves you to the ground. Your hands fly behind you to try to catch yourself but end up getting cut and scratched instead. Darren is mad. You can tell. You've only seen him this mad once. It was when him and his friends were hanging out, some drunk guys decided to start stuff up and swung at him. Needless to say the guys got put into a hospital.

But now his anger was directed onto you. You can't deny that you are afraid, but you don't dare show it. You are too mad. He lifts his arm up to strike you. But it never comes down. You look up again and see Morgan and Dareen looking over to the side of the road. Darren curses under his breath while going to check something out that you couldn't even see. Until you did see it.

It had to be at least 7 feet tall. A dark mass of pure strength. It was pure black. It looked like a path of the Earth had been ripped apart and all you could see was pitch blackness in the shape of a humanoid object. You didn't even register what it was until you looked at its face. A skull. An animal skull. No flesh. No muscles. Just pure bone....

It happened in a split second. Darren was there, looking up at the beast. Then he was on the ground. The beast on his chest with its mouth attached to his neck. You hear it before you see it. You hear Darren's muscles tearing and you hear the blood splurting out. Darren is letting out bloodcurdling screams but this doesn't scare the monster. It releases his neck just to bring his face down onto Darren's own face. And you swear you're gonna be sick. After a few minutes it stands up. Darren's face is reduced to a red splatter. You hear whimpering coming from your left. You look over and see Morgan standing there. "Why haven't you ran yet idiot?" you find yourself thinking before reminding yourself that you have been too shocked to run yourself. The thing seems to hear her as well. It starts walking towards her but senses you first. It looks at you and your blood goes cold. You weren't ready for this. You weren't ready for death. Sure you just had your heart broken but that doesn't mean you were ready to die??

The thing just stares at you. You expect it to jump on you and start attacking just like it did to Darren. But it just stares. You see it analyzing every part of you. Your face, lips, arms, and legs. It takes extra time to look over your body. As if it's admiring it.

The thing's trance doesn't break until Morgan starts to finally run. It's head jerks to face her and within seconds it's on her. Making her fate the same as Darren's.

You finally figured out that no one is going to save you except yourself so you try to get up and start running in the opposite direction. Deeper into the woods...

~back to present time~

You're trying to ignore your shaky legs and blurry vision but it's getting hard. You want to stop running. You're in too much pain. But you can't will yourself to accept Morgan and Darren's fate. This has to be a dream. It can't be real. If only you hadn't taken that alternative path.

You don't want to be it's next meal. You want to say that that is what it wants you for. Nothing more. But deep down you know that it wants you for something else...Something more lasting...

(I hope y'all enjoy this lmao. I personally do not think it is that good but I wanted to at least get a little crappy story out bc I'm going to have NO time what's so ever to write later this week!!! Also In the little section where Morgan is yelling at you, it is for some reason making it red? I've tried to change it to purple bc that is the designated color I used to Morgan's dialogue but yeah)
