glimpse of us
pairing : ayato x reader summary : ayato was forced into an arranged marriage with you while he's in love with a normal civilian. a/n : i wrote this mainly in ayato's pov for some reason— kinda rushed at the end cuz i ran out of ideas (send help)
part 2
Tumblr media
"can't wait to see you as the Yashiro Commissioner ayato" she said with a cheeky smile plastered on her face.
in which ayato respond with a shy smile and a rosy color on his face "and i can't wait to have you by my side when we finally got married"
shattered.
that was what ayato feels.
his family is arranging a marriage for him with a noble woman, they said it was for the sake of the kamisato family, for kamisato is one of the strongest family in inazuma.
he stood stiffly, how could they? forcing him into marrying someone he didn't even know, further more love.
but he realize that there's nothing he could do, he's the first child of the kamisato, the future head of the family. he understands that what his parent did was for their future but ayato couldn't help but feel helpless.
"you should end it with that girl, ayato." his father sternly said.
"what? no way father, i.. i love her" with desperate eyes ayato plead.
"it's an order. coming from the head of the kamisato, don't make me do it the hard way" ayato could feel his lungs closing in, was this really the end? he had planned everything so perfectly for him and his beloved, why does it has to end now? why this way? "go now. you are dismissed" "yes father"
ayato went to see her, sitting under one of the sakura tree. ayato finds it hard to make his way towards her, but with heavy feet, he forces himself to come and sit beside her.
after a moment of silent, she finally spoke, her eyes never left the book she's reading "so, what did your father talked about?" ayato tense up with the mention of his father.
he clears his throat and shift his body to look at her "listen there's something i have to talk about" finally rising her head from the book, she looks at him with waiting gaze.
"...my family is arranging me with a noble." ayato could see the sudden change of emotions in her eyes after what he said.
"please.. i'm sorry, i had no say in this" oh the way her eyes watered as she look up to see the already crying ayato. "i'm scared, truly i'm scared, not for me but for us. for you. i'm scared to know what will happen if i didn't act quickly to their demand." ayato subconsciously held her hand, squeezing it, trying to comfort her and himself.
she look down with a sad smile on her face, tears threatening to spill. she knew it was bound to happen, she's a normal civilian and he's a noble of course his parents would want him to marry another noble.
"i see,, does this mean we couldn't see each other again?" she asked
ayato looks at her with desperate eyes, as he open his mouth to speak yet nothing came out for a few seconds "no.. of course not" and she just smiles at him, the smile he have always love yet somehow shatters him.
-----
today is the day ayato could finally meet his future wife, though he didn't even see the need to get all excited for this.
his parents-even ayaka- had told him that this future wife of his is a perfect girl, she could cook, independent, and caring, yet ayato paid no mind to any of that, he just wants to get this over with.
a knock was heard from the door and ayato's father was more than ready to greet them. a couple of moments later the maid and their family enter his living room, where ayato and his family is sitting.
getting up from their seat, ayato's father greet them with a warm hug "so [name], this is ayato, the one i've been telling you about" your father gestures his hand towards ayato who just gave you a small smile. "i think it's best for the two of you to get to know each other while we could discuss about the wedding" your father suggest with a smile on his face while looking at the both of you.
you smile as you see ayato walking towards you and hand out his arm for you to hold, "right this way, i'll show you around" ayato smiled.
after that day ayato learned that indeed what they say about you are true, he also learned that you're quite shy with him. maybe this wouldn't be that hard.
----
the wedding day finally came and ayato finds himself fiddling with the edge of his kamisato jacket. this is it, he thought, there's no turning back.
he step out of his room and take his stance at the altar, waiting for your entrance.
music starts to play as the grand door opens itself, revealing you, in your beautiful shiromuku, a huge smile could be seen in your face as you slowly walk towards ayato, hand in hand with your father.
it was dreamy, everyone eyes on you and yours on his.
ayato could feel a strange feeling inside of him as he stares at your approaching figure, he forces himself to give you and the audience a smile.
finally reaching the altar, ayato held your hand and the both of you said your vows.
"you may kiss the bride" and oh how soft ayato's lips feels on yours, though it was only a quick peck on the lips, you could already feel your inside turning upside down. after all, this is what you've dreamt of since you were little.
---
your marriage with ayato is nothing special, he treated you like his wife, yet never did he send you any loving gaze, never did he wrap his arm around, and never did he spent enough time with you like a lovely couple.
you knew about ayato's past relationship with the inazuma civilian so you gave him space to move on from the experience, yet up until now ayato never seem to have moved on.
"welcome home ayato! come, you must be tired from todays work! go take a shower while i prepare dinner for the both of us" you smile at him when he enters your sight. ayato gave you a small smile in return and a soft "of course" in return before leaving to the bathroom.
the dinner were filled with silence and the occasional pep talk the both of you throw.
ayato knows you're enough for him- more than enough actually- you're the perfect wife. you could comfort him whenever he feels stressed, even when he didn't say anything about it. you've always been good to him.
yet sometimes, perfect doesn't always mean that it's working. no matter how perfect you are, ayato could still see his past lover in you every now and then. the way you talk, the way you smile, the way you soothes his tense shoulder, all reminded him of her.
and little did he knows, you've always known this fact.
you saw him writing a letter for her one time, the look of pure joy in his face and the whispers that left his lips when he wrote every letter with love to her. you could feel something inside you breaking.
you've tried so hard to make this marriage works, but maybe ayato never tried to make this work, maybe ayato never tried to move on from his past lover.
but who are you to force him into doing what you please?
reblogs are greatly appreciated! and feel free to comment what you think ^^

I’m not a shipper and I don't usually like this ship, but I’ve been thinking about romance and specifically my AroAce Scout headcanon a lot lately, so I present this:
Speedingbullet, but it was one-sided attraction on snipers part? And we followed how Scout feels about someone being in love with him when he can’t reciprocate it?
Sniper is a pretty distant lover, so Scout matches that distance, thinking that’s what Sniper wants from the relationship, but when they are together, when they are being loving, Scout tries to match Sniper's energy but he just can’t, he tries to put on an act of affection but it’s missing that key component he can’t quite place.
On one hand, Scout likes feeling loved, he likes feeling important, but on the other hand, the pet names and the touches and the kisses and the saccharine tone projected in Sniper's voice just make Scout so sick. He can’t get himself to return the same things with the same fervor with the same emotion behind them, and it drives him nuts because he doesn’t understand what’s different about his attraction for Sniper and vice versa. Does he even think Sniper is hot? Does he even find the man attractive? Or did he simply decide that, because Sniper confessed, he had to say yes, that maybe something would spark in him towards the man once he got into a relationship with him?
He’s never quite been romantically or sexually attracted to someone (sometimes he thinks it is attraction, but it isn’t) but at least with the women he dated, he found them hot in some sense of the word. Attractive, but in a different way, in a separate way from his peers. But with Sniper all he can see is another man, another guy. He feels nothing. And it’s not like he wants to feel this way. He wants to feel something, too, he wants to feel the connection that Sniper has with him, but he can’t, and it’s tearing him apart.
He can’t think to break it off because obviously Sniper’s happy, and it’s not like Scout’s hurt in any way, it’s not like Scout’s being abused by him. Is he the abuser here? Is he the one in the wrong, taking and taking Sniper's love but never giving it back the same way? He doesn’t want to hurt Sniper, but no matter what he does he’ll just fuck everything up, and he doesn’t want to do that. More than anything he’s lost and he’s confused, stuck in a situation he knows so many others would be begging for and knows he should be begging for, knows he should want more than anything, but he just doesn’t. It’s eating him alive.

Under The Sun (Thsc Fic)
I've been wanting to write something for my dear Oc, Choc but I never got the chance to until now. Here I wanted to expand on him as a character while exploring his relationships. This one-shot revolved his interactions with Mr. Macbeth. Hope everyone enjoys reading this. It came out better than I thought.
Combat boots hit the dirt ground with a thud and the heat waves of a summer day sends him to a slight stumble.
“Careful there, big guy” Soon in his tired haze stricken with a mild case of a heatstroke, he hears a chipper voice lull him out. “You don't want to trip over your two left feet and get a face full of the dirt below, would you?”
Macbeth switches his drowsy attention from straight ahead over to the source. Naturally loud, booming and smooth. Sure knows how to captivate someone in one shameless easy going swoop. Intensely scolding heat rises in his broad chest up to his face with his ears getting the brunt of it, turning a bright scarlet red. He coughs in his hand then uses it after to brush aside the beads of collected sweat from his bare head.
“It'll be very embarrassing for you, won't it?”
It would indeed be quite the harsh fall. As the ground below was a good foot distance from where he stood on the train and it's made out from rough dirt and jagged rocks. All it would take is one single awkward misstep on those steep metal stairs to ensure Macbeth let the earth swallow him up.
Alone he handled it well as he went to dust off the grime, ignoring the blistering pain that surfaced around his likely scratched face and trudge along as if it's nothing. However that wasn't the case here and now. If it happened in front of another soul, anyone else, he likely would be a little flustered, yes on the matter as he aggressively swore them to secrecy.
This he couldn't hide from. Not so easily. The other man at his side was built differently, he is eagle eyed and observant. Ready to pick on the details and tear them apart.
“Need to hold my hand to steady yourself for a sec?” He's reluctant. A hand, bandaged, is held out to him waiting for his response. Eyes flicker between the hand to the ground then back, trailing up the arm. Once the bandages stop at the elbow he notices the bare skin is a distinct charcoal color with the faint veins a light gold color. It wasn't any of his business to begin with but Macbeth had been worried about that fact with his oldest friend. The thin material protected him from serious damage, and he should know however there came the underlying fear it won't be enough. He wasn't the only one in the clan who shared a similar intuition when it came to that fact despite the man generally being a goofy guy nobody can sincerely hate.
Why would they?
“I'm all set here” Respectfully he kept his drooping gaze set firmly to the ground, afraid it may trail further to somewhere he couldn't explain. “Thank you though”
“Ain't going to kill you”
Where the hand pulls away, Macbeth drags a stilted breath. Awkward tension could be cut down by a dull knife. The hand returns again with a vengeance, grabs onto his wrist to the point it begins to hurt. Yet he didn't make an attempt in tugging free.
“Look at me” It orders him, firm, no room for an argument. Although it wasn't like Macbeth would've won anyways. He listens, steadies his slumped posture and looks up. “Good boy. I hope you do know I'm looking out for you as a friend” The unintentional pet name spoken in a whisper doesn't go unnoticed by him. Warmth uncomfortably settled in his gut.
What he sees staring back at him does him no favors. Golden eyes with hints of vibrant orange and reds swirling together are locked onto his dull gray. As if staring at the blazing sun up in the sky up close and personal that left Macbeth in awe, he couldn't look away from. Until it burns a gaping hole into his soul.
“I know, Choc. I know”
A part of him nuzzled deep in his own psyche suddenly feels very inadequate compared to his friend. Where he wasn't anything special to look twice at, really, described to be dull, too rashly hot headed acting before thought and he wasn't necessarily good with either his words or feelings. Classic socially inept, cold shut in.
Then came along Choc, a social butterfly able to light up the mood who back in the day was considered conventionally attractive, had people draping off his every word. Still was in Macbeth's eyes, only in a different way, even when long years amongst fraught sickness clearly wore down his friend. As he can look past the plentiful amount of gruesome scars on the man, across his sun kissed face, past his gold row of sharp teeth, and his unnatural skinny body, it just adds on to ruggish charm. Macbeth then scanned him from head to toe, at one time there were firm muscles laid ever so nicely on the man that had melted away to skin and bones over the years.
“Then you should know better, right?” Choc responds in an even tone and Macbeth feels worse. He isn't intending to worry him. This isn't what he meant to do.
“Don't need you guilting me, I know”
“I'm not. You of all people should know that. As your closest friend. I can worry”
Today was a stressful day as it is, being the train conductor holding both all the Toppats’ most prized possessions and the majority of their members. It was his assigned priority to travel back and forth from one port to another for the clan. So he's built to stay set on a tight schedule that he held high expectations and standards which he's behind on. However he is thankful they got to one small port despite the delay in a reasonable time frame. So he doesn't need this right now.
Really, didn't need it as Choc's hands cupped his tentatively in utmost care and led the way.
“Don't get time in the world for this, y’know that right?” Half-heartedly Macbeth pleads, from his free hand, fingers pinch the bridge of his flat nose, his gruff voice gains an octave then he dryly swallows.
A chuckle bursts out of Choc, shrugging, with a twinkle in his eyes, walking a few feet from the train through a path of bushes, “Dontcha worry. I do think we can squeeze in a couple minutes and relax, yes?” Choc lazily went to suggest though they knew it wasn't a choice, more an order.
“The others won't like it. The chief surely won't”
“They'll survive,” Choc scoffs, a hint of hidden agitation seeps in. “Maybe not the chief in his haughtiness with that gloriously pretentious stick shoved so far up his ass”
“Choc”
Soon the man in question stops in his tracks in front two trees, looking behind his shoulder at Macbeth, an unreadable expression on his face until he softens and discreetly rolls his eyes. “It's true, isn't it? Someone's gonna get real tired of it soon and do something about that”
Nobody should ever be brazen to detest the chief, his diligent reign brought the clan to new heights they haven't seen in a while, at least Macbeth thought so.
“He's under a lot of pressure” Macbeth adds in defense to the chief's name.
“Shouldn't be having the title and power then if he can't handle it. The cracks under the so called pressure is starting to reveal itself”
While Macbeth squirms, swaying on one foot to the other, Choc walks to a tree, presses a hand on the bark, lowering carefully to the ground. Macbeth manages to take a spare glance around, he notices they were alone, together at the train's head, and not a thing or person is there to interfere.
Woods surrounded them, as naturally thickly settled and so the colorfully painted autumn leaves above provide a decent amount of shade for whoever rests below.
“At least in my opinion. Though let's not talk now on it. We're here to relax”
Still holding hands it was until Choc let go Macbeth missed the soothingly comforting contact. What he would do to touch them again, worse is he wanted a better feel, and so the familiar overbearing sensation returns in his gut.
“For a few minutes, okay” Once he finds his voice Macbeth speaks, “And I have to leave. Get back to work”
“Sure. Sure, workaholic you. Beats me for wanting what's best” Leaned up against the tree Choc lightly jokes, scoots off to the side giving his friend room to sit. So with a grunt, he plops on the dirt next to the man, his hat laid off to the sideline.
“Hmm”
Macbeth hums, head back laying on the itchy wood behind him, eyes clamped shut, thin lips pursed with his large, calloused hands folded on his chest, and legs stretched out.
Relaxation never came to him. An unheard-of  after thought. Yet this time around somehow it was different. There's a cool breeze nipping his cheeks, so having someone's presence for example, Choc's sets him at ease. Maybe it was the stress doing this, or all the pent up tension building inside kicking the wind out of his lungs.
He didn't know how long it was sitting there until he snapped awake covered in a cold sweat. A tingling itch burns underneath his skin near his heart. Reassured immediately when beside him Choc remained, sat cross legged, hands at his side, and staring up at the sky, and he didn't miss how peaceful his friend looked right now.
Rather he was mesmerized by the sight. The way the sun hits in all the right angles Choc shines a radiant glow. Once again the eyes are what took the cake, so captivating he is immersed and can't look away. At one point he opens his mouth but shuts it.
Then he catches the hand grazing across his own; he may or may not have deliberately put them aside. Long, boney fingers wrapped in tinted gauze barely touch his thick, stubby digits. Even with the bandages on, they were so elegant compared to his that's missing a few.
Temptation struck him.
Slowly inching towards the man's hands he hopes isn't too noticeable. Macbeth wasn't the type to ask for much anyways. A simple man with the most basic needs and the way Choc feels under his touch is addictive. What was a need turned to a strong craving unable to be explained in words. Hand holding won't do, he imagined his curious touch traveling up the man's arm to his chest, and down his waist.
How big his hands would be wrapped around the man, so slender, waist nicely cinched in by the corset vest. Push the sweet jester to the dirt ground, not caring if they got messy in the process as they return to the station.
“Whatcha starin’ at?”
Macbeth is startled out by his daydreams and snaps his attention to the man who returned an odd look at him.
“Caught you staring” Tilting his head in to a certain degree that's not known possible to a man Choc merely laughs, “Handsome, I get it”
A hefty shove amongst his friend's laughter later, Macbeth coldly replies, “Wasn't directed at you so don't get your head aired up, pal”
Can't help to watch the shit eating grin falter while the wrapped up hand inches away.
“Sure. You say that like you believe it's true as fact” Choc's smile returned just as quick, all knowing yet kept silent.
“Watch it before I wipe the smugness off you”
“Oooh I'm so scared”
Shambling back on his feet, Macbeth knew his time was up, hearing faint voices coming in the distance. In the corner of his eyes was Choc, usually teasingly persistent, resigned himself. Macbeth suddenly felt bad as he had to leave, turning around with the words on his tongue, however it died as Choc lazily waves him off.
“Took enough of your time. I'll see you later”
Nodding Macbeth, stiff, shambles on the trail to the train, turning his head slightly watching the figure disappear from his sight.

The reason why I love Stenbrough is probably because I am going through the same crisis Stan went through with Bill. Unreciprocated love. Falling in-love with your best friend who you have admired for so long, and knowing they will never love you back because they are straight, and in-love with someone else. 👍🏼

Finally, on the way to his wedding, he marvels at how easy it is with women. If only they knew how little time we spend thinking of them, and if only they knew how much we know about how much they think about us.

"How does it feel when you know you're falling in love with someone you can't have?"
"It feels like jumping off the cliff willingly with a rope tied to your waist. Falling too fast, but you know you won't hit the land. The fall thrills your heart, numbs you to nothingness, not wanting to climb back up, and unable to make it to the valley. I'd call that, helplessly in love."

As Assumed🥀
CW: language
Hero stumbled backward and observed the scene in front of them. It wasn't every day they dealt with the pesky Antihero now and then. Their grey morals and deliberate betrayals made it difficult to trust them over time. Villain had even made a few comments on their strange behaviour, but the sneaky son of a bitch was at it again today.
That would all change; Hero stared at the bleeding persona leaning up against the brick wall behind them, their lips chapped and eyes boring a hole into their face. It was ridiculous that Antihero thought they could win; the only person who's ever gotten one over them so far was Villain, and quite frankly, it was only because Hero let them.
If they weren't so devilishly handsome, well…
Antihero smirked poorly, their breathing slow and shallow, "What's the matter? Don't tell me you've given up."
This one was particularly cocky.
They scoffed in response and fixed their hair, charmed at their attempt at hurting them with false words. "Look at you." The Antihero was utterly covered in bruises, their suit torn in edges and a face full of scars. "I think we both know how this will end."
Hero watched them as they spat to their side and fixed their posture again. "We'll see." Hero heard them cough and lounged again to finish the job, their weapon aimed straight at their chest. Antihero side-stepped it, but not until they were nicked.
A swift punch to their gut sent them back, and Hero's eyes lit up proudly as they collapsed. "What was that?" They mockingly smiled back.
Antihero felt their legs shake under their weight before giving in; their blood began trailing against the cemented ground.
"You…" they looked up dazed, the light beaming in their direction as Hero stood tall. "you're… evil."
"Hmm… is that so?" They aimed at them again, ready to finish their job, when a swift wind grabbed Hero and tossed them away. Their back fell against the hard building, eyes widening in shock. They couldn't breathe, and just for a second, they felt a devastating presence overwhelm them.
A worried voice broke through the air as Hero opened their eyes against the settling dust to scan the area.
"Antihero!" It was Villain's voice. Hero could pick it out of a crowd.
They slowly sat up from the debris and stared at the scene before them.
Villain rushed to Antihero's side and knelt beside them. There was something crucial to their interaction, though; Hero furrowed their brows with confusion. They couldn't recall the concerned feature etched on Villain's face before.
They watched as Villain slowly moved the dirt from Antihero with a motion so swift and delicate they could've sworn that was something only Villain had done to them. So what… what was it that they were looking at here?
Antihero laughed softly, their smile curling into Villain's palm that carefully caressed their cheek, "Worried about me? That stupid expression doesn't suit you at all."
"I thought I told you to stop being so reckless." Villain ran their thumb against them.
What is it?
What is it that made Hero's heart burn? Something tightly squeezed their throat and pinned them down.
Hero's gaze couldn't stop taking in the scene before them. Why was Villain so sweet to Antihero? Wasn't such an action not reserved just for them?
Their mind tormented them with images of their past interactions, conversations, and games. It led Hero to conclude that they took it the wrong way. It was never about them, was it?
Everything up to this point right here… it wasn't fair.
But Hero was so confident that no one else had tried to make their heart flutter as much as Villain. When they were in the midst of a battle, it was always Villain who wanted to fight them first. Villain had always admired their strength rather. Nobody else but them. Them.
Hero felt their cheeks flush; it wasn't flirting. How could they have misinterpreted that?
All their years of crime fighting, looking forward to their next interaction and coming up with wittier words than them had all come down to this? Had Hero become so disillusioned to believe these false realities that it pushed their career?
Their heart started pounding in their chest as they watched Villain stand and take their stance. There was a very protective demeanour surrounding them. Hero could tell. That was the same way Villain would stand when protecting them against other villains. At least, they thought it was.
They crawled back to their feet, struggling to hold the burning tears begging to reveal themselves. They bit their lip to slow their breathing down.
Don't do it, not here.
"Ready to pick up where you left off?" Villain gave them a sharp grin.
A taunting grin.
Hero's fists tightened, a cold glare piercing the other. They wouldn't let Villain fool them again. Enough. These stupid thoughts consumed them and made Hero forget what they were about. No more holding back, no more chatting them up. This was a fight.
