Mr Roronoa Zoro is in love with this new guy who's always picking a fight with him, and is trying to avoid that guy's "sister", who's very persistent in trying to dance with Zoro, but it's actually the same person cross dressing and trying to flirt with him

The said sister introduced herself as Ms Sana Prince, the ward of Mr Redleg, a retired sailor and famous chef who’s just moved in town.

Zoro is an orphan who got wealthy having accidentally saved a nobleman (Luffy).

Sanji has both internalized homophobia and a very, very huge crush on Zoro ever since the moment he saw Zoro eat a fallen piece of bread from the floor in front of the wondering crowd. Boom.

He actually makes a very fine lady, a little too tall and wide shouldered but pretty elegant. Unfortunately the possibility of Zoro liking men doesn't cross his mind for a second because gentlemen are supposed to fancy ladies, right? (Zoro is painfully and unapologetically into men)

Ms Nami is a young lady whose passion is money and matchmaking, so she's collecting bets on when the infamous bachelor finally finds himself a partner

Chopper is a refined gentleman doctor in a top hat. That's it. No one is surprised.

One day Zoro's Really fed up with Sana's flirting so he snaps at her and makes her cry and run away dramatically. Nami advises him to go apologize, so he visits the Redleg mansion the day after.

Perplexed Zeff tells him that he only has one child. Zoro is perplexed twice as much, but he can't just leave with his apology bouquet so he stays for tea.

There has to be a scene of super dramatic love declaration in the rain where Sanji rejects Zoro's affection bc he's not yet in peace with his own sexuality blah blah it's a long story and I don't think in complex sentences BUT EVENTUALLY THEY HAVE TO GET TOGETHER yea. Please imagine the rest yourself

I gotta say that as a jane austen stan, it’s kind of fun to see how many of us are obsessed with our flag means death now because honestly…..yeah. we love a silly yet genuine period piece rom-com that’s got real stakes and makes love the point but is also written to be not-so-thinly-veiled commentary on gender politics, ft. drama that probably could’ve been resolved at least 12 times faster given the advent of phones. just with more murder and gay sex

my roommate and i are watching inuyasha for her first time, i love seeing her fresh reactions to a 20+ year-old show, some highlights:

she thought inuyasha was a cat because he has catboy ears

only remembers kikyo's name, does not remember kagome's

miroku = sanji, shippo = chopper

loves that miyoga the flee can be squished and survives

shocked at the amount of blood and violence in the show because i told her it was more of a romance and an easy watch and also tend to forget how much blood and violence is actually in this show

wanted to call kagome "ka-goam", had a brain blast when i told her japanese vowels are roughly the same as spanish ones, has now unlocked the skill to pronounce all character names

immediately made a "time of the month" joke when learning about inuyasha's human transformation

said she'd use the the sit command just as much or even more than kagome does, if she was with someone constantly starting fights with her like inuyasha does

is happy the characters look japanese and not european

was really affected by the inuyasha childhood flashbacks, felt super bad for little inuyasha when everyone was mean and ignored him, brought up his past every episode after that

does not get the appeal of sesshomaru

is constantly enthralled by the will-they-won't-they romance between inuyasha and kagome, watches with rapt attention, experiences pure enjoyment when they nearly kiss or stare at each other too long

surprised that the primary love triangle is between inuyasha and two women rather and kagome and two men

asked if kagome was even the main character if the anime is called inuyasha

in episode 13-ish, asked if kikyo ever shows up in the anime, told her "yes, she never leaves"
