This Week in BL - I hand out a couple of high scores & have qualms about pairs
Organized, in each category, with ones I'm enjoying most at the top. I didn't get many screen shots this week, so welcome to a WALL OF TEXT. Duh duh duh dum.
July 2024 Week 3
Tumblr media
Ongoing Series - Thai
We Are Cute (Weds iQIYI) ep 16 fin - TanFang are ridiculous but I have grown to truly love them. ChainPun at the end made me hoot with laughter everyone was a meme of FINALLY. In fact, I loved all the pairs, this was a great ensemble piece.
I was left mildly wondering if Arm will ever lead a BL.
All in all?
I really enjoyed this show. It was slow to find its stride (I didn’t get into it until ep 7) but I’m very glad I gave it a chance. It’s a soft ensemble piece with multiple couples and very little plot, but I didn’t care because it’s not trying to be anything more substantial. Essentially this was a series of vignettes covering one year of uni for a queer friendship group finding love, new friends, and laughter. It’s not being harsh with us or it’s characters the way some offerings of this ilk have been (side eyes Friend Zone and Only Friends) nor did it tumble into Gen Y chaos. In fact, this reminded me more than anything of a refined and elevated Love Sick - just with older characters and occurring within a genre that has matured too. It has that close queer friendship group meets earnest gentleness that made me adore Love Sick so much. In other words, this was Thai BL at its finest, finding it roots again 10 years on, but also stretching upwards and showing us what it could do with that original seed. So? I loved it. Did it blow my mind? No. But it left me smiling and made me belly laugh quite a bit. 9/10
Technically it should probably get an 8/10 - too much singing, but I’m bubbling over with nostalgia rn.
Tumblr media
Wandee Goodday (Sat YT) ep 12 fin - I struggled to watch that fight. But that’s because it was so well done for a BL. Lots of speeches this ep. (I said too cheesy right before Dee did.)
I like Drake & Title as a new ship. Hope it sails. Also some decent ace rep.
On a totally different note: Good use of frosting. But… you know I’m gonna say it… NO SINGING.
Final thoughts:
What a FUN show. A charming quintessentially modern Thai BL about a doctor and a boxer who start as a one night stand and then fall in love. Great rep for everything from Muay Thai, to safe sex, to FUN sex, to ace, to bisexuality, to smiley kisses, to the first legal gay wedding in a Thai BL. It’s a delight and I enjoyed (almost) every single moment of it.
An easy 9/10.
I do hope we get more GreatInn.
The Rebound (Weds Gaga) eps 7-8 of 12 - So Ryu’s ma is evil? And Frank is giving me serious second lead syndrome. Also he’s been working out a lot. I noticed my dude, thank you. I don't think we've ever gotten this kind of focus on a side dish before. The show is in dangerous territory, since he's so good he's taking attention away from the leads. Also, I think Zen is completely aware of what is going on with this love triangle, he just doesn’t want to put up with their nonsense. I even like the cute side crumbs.
On a complete aside: why are crime lords in BL always in bathtubs? Asking for… the other genres. Wouldn’t it be hilarious if The Godfather entirely took place in bathtubs? A Real Man has a large… tub.
And we end with mass murder? WOW! Chaotically played my dearest pulp!
Tumblr media
Century of Love (Weds Gaga) eps 3-4 of 10 - These boys are playing complicated roles with lots of layers to them. Daou is doing a great job. We can see the old man inside this kid. Offroad... I’m not convinced, he’s chewing the scenery a bit. I actually think he has the more layered and complicated part to play. So I'm giving him a chance to subtly show that cheerful façade fracturing with delicacy. But I worry we may be back in JamFilm territory where one partner can’t quite keep up with the other's skillz.
All of this is to say, this is still a better acted piece than I was expecting. (Although the surrounding cast and special effects are doing our leads no particular favors.)
It’s hugely enjoyable but uneven (with those occasional injections of slapstick humor) I’m not entirely sure the production knows what it wants to be. I wish it had the courage of its convictions to lean into the “I feel you linger in the air” aesthetic. Now that I know Thailand can go there, I’m a bit annoyed when a show like this, which should, doesn’t. Which is not to say I’m not enjoying it. I am. A lot. Just that I should probably lower my expectations. Daou, however, is so damn good, he keeps getting my hopes up.
This Love Doesn't Have Long Beans (Fri iQIYI) ep 3 of 8 - Oh no we have a lonely poor little rich boy. Catnip character for @heretherebedork. Meanwhile, I’m liking the layers of the main romance, with everybody having hidden agendas and such. Nice tension. Of course I love the eroticism around smells. One of my favorite tropes. But I’m not sure I buy the relationship chemistry between the leads when this much lying is going on.
Tumblr media
My Love Mix-Up Th (Fri YT) ep 7 of 12 - I am growing to love Fourth's version of this character. He’s so frantic and confused, but in a completely different way from the JBL. It’s a bit more whiny and a bit less cartoonish. But it resonates with me more. He's less of a meme tho. The photo moment! I literally squealed, "Gah!!! They are so cute!"
Linguistic moment. Did you hear in the cupcake section that Half went to rao/ter? Very sweet. (The boys use rao/nai.)
Tumblr media
Also, yay for the twist on the school counselor character! Best thing ever. I would like the entire story of Nop & Sin GMMTV, please and thank you. Also… NO SINGING.
Sunset X Vibes (Sat iQIYI) ep 6 of 12 - I’m continuing to enjoy this a lot. It’s a fun cast. A touch twee for me, and I’m really hoping they amp up something other than the romance soon, but I don't mind ending my week with these two.
The Trainee (Sun YouTube) ep 3 of 12 - I'm enjoying this show so much, just not as a BL (yet). It’s honest to the internship experience of overwhelm (such as I recall, it's been A WHILE). I’m not sure how much BL I’m getting from it thus far. I mean our leads shared a long glance or two but that’s about it. It’s very slow burn. But I don’t mind that since I’m liking the surrounding stuff. Can't stand the girlfriend intern character tho. I hope she get redeemed.  Or killed.
Love Sea (Sun iQIYI) ep 6 of 10 - Halfway through I had already finished my drink out of sheer boredom.  Trash watch here.
Knock Knock Boys (Thurs Gaga) ep 9 of 12 - Frankly I’m finding this relatively dull right now. Lovely kisses tho. Best and Seng are great together, consummate BL pros, not a pair I had on my bingo card.
Tumblr media
Ongoing Series - Not Thai
I Hear the Sunspot AKA Hidamari ga Kikoeru (Japan Weds Gaga) ep 5 of 10 - I like how much we can see K’s intense liking and emotional need for this loud broken kid. And how easy it is for him to admit to that truth. Because what he’s going through is so much worse than admitting to having feelings. The acting is fantastic. Sometimes I forget how great Japan can be. And then they decide to remind me. Oh, it’s SO GOOD.
Takara's Treasure AKA Takara No Vidro (Japan Mon Gaga) ep 3 of 10 - Another one I’m finding boring. Just japan’s version. The vintage yaoi “old dude creep trope” I see. It’s been a while.
It's airing but...
Meet You at the Blossom - it's your funeral (or, more likely, one of the main characters'). You can argue but... statistics. You know my feelings on this matter. MY BLOG, remember?

In case you missed it
The Time of Fever AKA Unintentional Love Story 2 (Korea movie) trailer released to Korean theaters 5/25. HoTae & DongHee, side couple from Unintentional Love Story are back! Same actors, same character names. I love them. Devastated this hasn't had international distribution. I demand you tell me the moment you find it!
The Last Time (Thai Fri YT) - Got bumped to Aug 2. Convoluted story of loss and possible reincarnation or something.
Next Week Looks Like This:
Tumblr media
Upcoming BLs for 2024 are listed here. This list is not kept updated, so please leave a comment if you know something new or RP with additions.
July Releases Still To Come
7/24 I Saw You in My Dream (Thai Weds Gaga) - Dee Hup is behind this one so I have high hopes. Younger boy chronically teased his whole life by the older boy next door suddenly starts having horrific prophetic dreams about his bully and must save him.
7/26 4 Minutes (Thai Netflix or iQIYI?) - Great, a rich boy studying business at uni, suddenly gains the supernatural power to see four minutes into the future.
7/29 Battle of the Writers (Thai ????) - trailer here, TutorYim return, and while I adore them, I really hope this is better than Middleman's Love. Won't be hard. However: the premise? Ugh. Something something authors fighting - save me. Why don't writers understand that nothing is more boring than writers?
THIS WEEK’S BEST MOMENTS
No time this week, I'm having computer issues.
(Last week)
Streaming services are listed by how I (usually) watch, which is with a USA based IP, and often offset by a day because time zones are a pain.
The tag BLigade: @doorajar @solitaryandwandering @my-rose-tinted-glasses @babymbbatinygirl @babymbbatinygirl @isisanna-blog @mmastertheone @pickletrip @aliceisathome @urikawa-miyuki @tokillamonger @sunflower-positiiivity @rocketturtle4 @blglplus @anythinggoesintheshire @everlightly @renafire @mestizashinrin @bl-bam-beyond @small-dark-and-delicious @saezurumurmurs
Sigh, Tumblr in it's infinite wisdom doesn't like too many tags.
There's these tricks, remember.

One Piece Crack Ship War - Submission post!
Welcome to the One Piece Ship War - crack edition!
What is a crack ship?
A crack ship is a (in this case romantic/sexual) ship that has little to no basis in canon.
When will my ship qualify for this tournament?
They will automatically qualify (after having been submitted) when:
The characters involved have NO canon interaction*, and are not part of the same crew (no matter how popular the ship is).
The characters involved have 1 short canon interaction and less than 10 fics for them on AO3 (as a side pairing counts too)
They might qualify if:**
They have no canon interaction but are part of the same crew or organisation.
They have 1 short canon interaction but more than 10 fics on AO3
They have 1 long canon interactions or 2/3 short ones and less than 10 fics on AO3
They have multiple canon interactions but NO fics on AO3
It's an incredibly funny ship (but you gotta convince me it's crack!)
These ships will not qualify on principal:
ANY ship between Strawhats (honorary Strawhats don't count if they haven't met a certain Strawhat - examples: BrookNami does not qualify, SanjiVivi does not qualify, but BrookVivi would qualify)
The top 25 ships (or something, be sensible) on AO3.
*canon interactions include fillers, cover stories, specials, and movies (though I haven't seen the last 2 yet and I don't remember much of the other ones, so these might slip through, but I'm counting on you to honor this rule). Also, I won't know nor check interactions in the manga (that haven't been animated yet), so something might slip through there as well. Just honor the rules, please.
**Any ships in the 'might qualify' category will be judged on crackyness by me first, and when I'm in doubt, I will put them up for a vote - so expect a few polls for this.
Rules!
All characters must be from One Piece (no OCs).
Must be a crack ship according to above guidelines.
Ships that were in the previous shipping war tournament are allowed in this one too, as long as they follow the previous rule.
No moral limitations. These are fictional characters, not real people. Go wild. (But be prepared for 'problematic' ships to be voted out in round 1 or 2.) I will not start discourse/moral discussions about any ships! (messages about morally questionable ship are likely to be ignored and deleted)
Poly ships are allowed! I will cap them at 5 characters, however, and at least 1 character should follow the interaction rules stated above. (examples: JinbeRobinBrook or KidLawLu are not allowed. RobinNamiKiller would be allowed, on grounds of Killer having no interactions with the other 2 (I think? 😂)) Again, be sensible here.
All characters involved have to be humanoid. No concepts, objects, or full animals (fishmen/merfolk, minks, and Chopper are allowed).
You can submit multiple ships, but use a new form for each ship.
Do not hate on other ships, just support your own.
You are allowed and encouraged to submit fanart! As a lot of these ship won't have official art with all characters in it, it will come down to fanart for the most of it ((bad) edits are also very much allowed). However, it needs to be your own or you need permission from the artist before submitting it! However, if you haven't gotten permission yet when submitting, you can always send me a link to the fanart later. Without picture submitted, there might be a chance your ship will have to compete without a picture.
Keep the main images SFW and spoiler free. Propaganda can contain nsfw stuff and manga spoilers, as long as it's announced up front (eg: [Spoilers ahead]/[nsfw ahead])
Submit only through the google form below. Submisions through asks or reblogs will not be accepted.
Read the rules? Go ahead and submit those ships! (<you can click on that)
Oh yeah, and in case you're wondering... All submitted ships that pass the crack ship bar will make it into the tournament! No limitation on how many contestants there will be or how many submissions a ship needs. I want this to be an opportunity for all to discover new fun and silly ships!
Closing date is april 8 at 10AM CET.

😍 ― admiring from afar 📌 ― a staple on the dash 🏆 ― 10/10 blog, would recommend
🐝  *  ―  𝑺𝑯𝑶𝑼𝑻-𝑶𝑼𝑻𝑺 𝑶𝑭 𝑨𝑾𝑬𝑺𝑶𝑴𝑬𝑵𝑬𝑺𝑺.  (  send in one or more of these symbols for me to pick one blog or multiple i wanna shout out that i think fit well into the category. explanations optional.  )
😍 ― admiring from afar
@legeandary - While we don't have anything ongoing, Belle is 100% someone I get excited for on my dash. I'm just an awkward racoon that struggled to get things going. But MAN, is she talented, both in writing so many varied muses and insane talents with themes and templates.
@mcdeofash - Kel has so many amazing muses on her roster and I adore seeing her on my dash so damn much. I'm just always never to interact with people. BUT I am slowly working up the courage to reply to an open or two to get the ball rolling. JUst and absolutely pleasure to follow!
@havvkinsqueen - If anyone isn't aware Victoria is one of the sweetest people in the universe. Even without knowing me, she had sent me some wonderful pieces of positivity to brighten my day and I'm so grateful to have her on my dash. We haven't done writing yet, but I look forward too!
📌 ― a staple on the dash
@theolderhenderson - If you're not following Tin, you're missing out. Elie is one of the most amazing OC's I've ever written with. Tin has put so much thought and time into Elie and her backstory that it's easy to forget that Elie isn't a canon muse (she is to me though okay??). Just top marks, Trash Panda Gang unite!
@managedxmischief - Having Ash in my life as both a friend (at least in my mind) and a writing partner is a joy to have. Ash is a fantastic writer and writes so many amazing mused over multiple blogs and does an amazing job with each and everyone and I always look forwards to our threads, and the tiktoks I'm sent on discord!
@childrenofslumber - Nicky is one of my favourite people, a super talented writer who put so much thought into her muses and their histories and is such a passionate supporter of both her muses and yours. I love listening to Nicky gush about her muses, or our ships and she is just always happy when you're speaking to her and is such a delight on the dash and OOC.
🏆 ― 10/10 blog, would recommend
@chaosxburned - JAY MY BELOVED!!! Firstly, I’m so glad Jay is back. I love her to death and I love every single one of her muses and the ships we have. Jay is such a talented writer you have no idea and I would recommend her blog(s) to EVERYONE. She is one of my favourite people honestly! I'm very blessed to have Jay in my life!
@advcnturewithin - AJ and I keep finding our way back to each other's blogs ever since we first started writing and have moved from writing partners over the years to in real life friends and have met up multiple times to hang out. AJ is scarily talented and you'd definitely see that in every single post, there is just so much thought and love behind each reply!
@talesfromthevoiid - Jay is someone I am always excited to write with and is such a lovely guy in all honesty. I'm slow as a snail, but Jay is always warm and excited about any threads or possible ships and is just such a pleasure to write with. He is just all around fantastic both IC and OOC!

Ao3 Ask Game
Thanks @autisticwriterblog for the tag :D
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
542 but that's going to change to 543 soon I hope ;)
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
1,498,254 words 😳😱
3. What fandoms do you write for?
At the moment I'm still obsessed with Alan Wake 2. Gonna hit 111 works for it soon 😏 Which is why I'll try to focus on those works and becos this is my Koskela blog after all :D
4. Top five fics by kudos
Lmao, it's all DBH xD Used to be very active in that fandomD but my Top 5 AW fics would be:
Jacket (Ilmo/Alan)
Minds Collide (Zaneling, my only Zaneling fic lol)
Curious Case(y) (Scratch/Casey)
Off trail (Ilmo/reader)
Bleeding Hearts (Ilmo/Alan)
Honestly, I'm mainly proud of the first and last piece here.
5. Do you respond to comments?
I try to reply to every comment! Honestly, it's cool when a little convo ensues from that ;) I also save all comments in my jar (a word file) to reread whenever I'm suffering from imposter syndrome/feel down about my writing 😅
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Pheew... That's a tough question. I've written a whole bunch of angsty Hanahaki fics and general angsty shit in multiple fandoms.
Many early AW2 fics center on the aftermath of Jaakko's death ;_; Maybe Kaleidoscope is one of the angstiest endings but certainly not the only one
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
In the romance category that might gonna be the Slow Roasting Love ending. But the Koskelas at Pride was very happy too. Again, it's not easy to choose becos of how many different situations I've written about :P
For a Koskela or Huotari/Reader fic, I'd like to say the historical Ilmari x transmasc Reader where they're in an arranged marriage but Ilmari's a closeted gay man and reader is a closeted gay transmasc person so in the end it works out perfectly for them 🥺😏 It has a smut tag but smut only happens in the last chapter. It's a slowburn fic.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I think only once. I'm surprised and glad it hasn't happened much :P
9. Do you write smut?
Lol, my very first fic on there was smut. Once a smut writer, always a smut writer 😏
10. Craziest crossover?
I have a few post-apocalyptic series with a big mashup of seemingly unrelated fandoms together.
One being about Libraries where characters from Resident Evil meet PoTF characters, OCs and even Rose from Alan Wake so 😂
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Thankfully not.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Two of which one is published on ao3 too and the other on a Russian fan site :D Love when that happened 🙌🥰
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Nope. However, the Echoverse has come to life thanks to many discussions and conversations with @zephyrone01 and @copiasmic who have helped flesh out that world and given me prompt fuels for some of the fics
14. All time favourite ship?
Tough one, for the AW world it would be CultCase.
Be it in the echo-verse or extended from there in other AUs 😏 And its 'variations' in Ilmari x Kesä. I love their tragedy across several AUs. Same reason I also love Jaakoppi x Kesä
And the third OTP would now be Tim/Jaakko which, again, was born from the Echoverse
15. What's a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I once started writing a fic about the Koskelas and the Huotaris and the importance of stars and them trying to escape their tragic fate by astral projection.
16. What are your writing strengths?
🤔Maybe that I write multiple oneshots and make it a series. So you have this idea of a bigger world, without having to write one big overarching story or plot :P
Also, if i'm rly into a fandom and am hyperfixated, that creativity just flows abundant lol
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Fight scenes. And believe it or not, sometimes I feel the smut isn't always as spicy as I want it to be xD especially if it's more than 2 people, that shit is tough to write. U don't want anybody neglected unless it's something a character is into 😂
18. Thoughts on dialogue in another language?
I love it, but it's definitely a challenge! I usually resort to/limit myself to some translated words.
So far I've written stuff with Spanish, Finnish or Dutch in it.
19. First fandom you wrote in?
It all started with The Evil Within back in 2014. I think you could see an improvement in my English as the years go on in fic writing :P
20. Favorite fic you've written?
Sticking to AW works.... I like multiple works lmao 😂 All for different reasons. I'd say the two series: YY but Different and the CultCase series. (I can't choose 1 fic 😭)
Some of those stories contained, are standalone oneshots, but all combined give you a vast look into these worlds.
One being about bisexual Kesä and his complicated relation with closeted Ilmari. And the relationships between him and Ahti and between the Huotari brothers and Ahti (WIP)
And then you have CultCase which also explores many interesting dynamics between characters 🥺
And both series have a lot of angst, but also some tenderness and softness in them. And smut 😏 Something for everyone can be found there
I tag @copiasmic @entropicquilibriumofchaos @changethecircumstances @juhospemmifer & others who might wanna join but no one's obliged to do these ofc

Sticky Business
Tumblr media
[ID: The banner of the game, with the title, sticky business, written over purple brush strokes, next to a pair of pink scissors and an open box with several stickers inside: a frog wearing a suit, a piece of pepperoni pizza, a pink popsicle on a stick with rainbow sprinkles, and a rainbow with a heart. Everything is pixel graphics. End ID]
Do you like pixel graphics? Have you ever wanted to run your own online shop, but you don't actually want to deal with taxes, rude customers, or the post office?
Then this might be the game for you!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
[ID: Three stickers made in the game, all with a purple theme. The first is designed like a polaroid, with some books in front of a rainbow as picture. Pink tape with I heart is clipped to the top right corner, and a pencil is writing the word books at the bottom. The second is a round sticker with purple night sky, a half moon, and a very round black cat with white eyes at the bottom, in between high rows of purple plants. The third is an assortment of purple potion bottles, crystals, and plants. End ID]
Now, let's be clear. This is not a business simulator. I'm not sure if it is even possible to actually lose the game by running out of money - you can run out of money, for sure, but at least the first time, someone will bail you out. There also seems to be no penalty for messing up/missing an order.
This is a "have fun creating fun stickers" simulator.
Tumblr media
[ID: Full screenshot of the game, showing the sticker creator. On the right side are all the object categories, with the DLC one chosen, showing various words like books, gratitude, travel, and work. In the middle of the screen is the assembled sticker, a flowerpot with a red bow. The plant growing out of it has a smiling dog head with a flower above its ear. End ID]
The mechanics aren't groundbreaking. You design stickers from premade assets by placing, resizing, flipping, turning, and sometimes tinting. You arrange them on a sheet of paper to print—there's different types of paper with sparkly effects, too. Customers order stickers, and you pack them into packages to sell.
You cannot pick prices, reorder, promote, or anything like that, only list and delist. Each object used gains experience with each sticker with it sold, which you can boost by up to 75% per order. When an object levels up, you gain points you can use to unlock more elements.
Sometimes, customers will tell you their story and ask you to make stickers with special elements. You can do that. Or you can shrink the element and hide it behind something else 😂
Tumblr media
[ID: Full screenshot of the game, packing stickers up for shipping. The top row shows all available stickers. The first one in the list is a small rainbow with a thank you note, available over 1000 times. The left side shows one order at a time, with the message the customer sent, if available. The right side shows multiple tabs of available goodies to include, currently strawberry candy, miniature chocolate bars, and chewing gum. In the middle is an open box, padded with pink paper and blue wrinkly paper, containing the stickers appearing in the last screenshots (despite not being ordered), as well as two pieces of candy. End ID]
The boosting is basically free: just make a tiny (unlisted) sticker that can fit in all the cracks and blanks on any sticker sheet, and you have hundreds of those to throw 15 (max bonus) into every order you send. There's little point in purchasing actual goodies, just like actually using wrapping paper has no influence on anything.
The maximum amount of orders coming in depends on whether you have ongoing "quests" - that is, those customer story email chains not yet finished. As soon as the last one is done, you get many more requests, allowing you to gather currency for unlocks much faster.
There is an achievement for unlocking everything. I got it early—and I am glad I did. Halloween, Christmas, and the DLC brought three huge new categories, and I am not sure if they count for that achievement, but if they do, it would take twice as long now.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[ID: Two more stickers. One shows a green goblin in front of an open book. Left to it are a crossed sword and magical staff. At its other side sits a little ferret. Three red, twenty-sided dice are in the foreground, all showing 20. The other sticker is a christmas three. End ID]
All in all, it was a fun game, and I messed around with it for about 20 hours. I made lots of stickers I loved and shared with some friends, and *whispers* I even managed to spell the word fuck.
Why the frowny face then?
I played mostly on the steam deck.
At first, you may think "whee, full support, awesome", but the longer you play, the more things get incredibly frustrating.
It's impossible to export stickers on the deck. Why? Hell knows. Perhaps because they don't trust a "console user" to find the steam compatdata folder. You can override this by forcing it to not recognize the device as steam deck with the launch option: SteamDeck=0 %command%
The cursor keeps flipping back to the start of the list. Every time you pack the last of one sticker, the cursor flips back to the start of the list. Every time you go into another section (for example arranging stickers on the sheet) the cursor flips back to the start of the list. This isn't so bad the first time. Ten hours in, it makes me wanna cry. Also because:
There is no way to scroll through a list or even hold a button. No. You. Need. To. Press. The. Button. Over. And. Over. Again. To reach that 30th sticker you made.
While you probably break your mouse wheel finger trying to scroll through the end of day report, there's no button that works at all on controller. So you either sit through the painfully slow popping up of the report, or you speed it up and can't see it.
There is also no display when creating a sticker to show which assets are already maxed out on points you can earn. Have to go into the asset store for that. If you make me need thousands of points to unlock things, at least show me what can earn/earned those points!
Very occasionally, I couldn't edit a sticker sheet I made on desktop/deck on the other without having to adjust some stickers.
Also occasionally, the game started up on desktop without the save being synced, giving me half a heart attack as I thought my save was gone.
Don't get me wrong. It's still a good game, and it delivered exactly what was promised, and I wouldn't vote it down for that but. Geez. To play the DLC, I forced the deck to pretend it's a desktop and set mouse/kb controls, dealing with the touchpad mouse just so I could have A BUTTON THAT SCROLLS.
If my cursor had jumped back to the start of my sticker list. One. More. Time. I would have made another sticker that said fuck.

Hey cool soul, I have a question(s) :3
The definition of a child soldier:
"Any person below 18 years of age who is, or who has been, recruited or used by an armed force or armed group in any capacity"
I think this means:
-> The Kiyoshi warriors are child soldiers.
-> The Gaang are not child soldiers. They do take part in a military conflict as a somewhat organized group and go through basically the same horrors! But they did it out of their own free will, they weren't recruited or used by an armed force.
-> Azula is a child soldier. She is very different from the rest. She's under direct command from the military sovereign.
This begs a lot of (sad) questions. These I can think of on the spot:
1. Does she have a military title or rank? Is it just princess? Or field commander? General?
2. Did she get military decorations e.g. for her mastermind coup of Ba Sing Se?
3. What was the war like for her? A fourteen year old girl on military missions e.g. alone at see with dozens of grown male soldiers?
4. What was her military training? I feel like she didn't just train combat with Li and Lo. She's commanding ships and soldiers with such knowledge and confidence that it has to come from good experience. Same thing with her knowledge on history, military and strategy. Was it just the royal academy or did she have an extensive private education on top?
5. What does a post-war (out of the asylum) Azula look like in this regard? How does her upbringing as a child soldier affect her life, health, personality, habits, worldview etc? Well I already googled this one and it's very sad. The impact would be negative and very extensive (for all the children). PTSD, depression, isolation. Difficulty reintegrating into society (was she ever integrated as a princess?) and being excluded from family and community (she already is).
6. How is Azula treated by society after the war and the asylum? In the fire nation and the other nations? Will she get recognized? Will there be loyalists and sympathisants? Will she be discriminated against? For her mental state and / or for her fire nation soldier past?
So many questions, I know. You don't have to answer all / any of them but I did want to get this out there. Really, really love your blog!
First off, I am so sorry I took so long to answer this! I really wanted to give you a good response so I had to sit on this one for a while.
Aww, you think I'm cool? Thanks😁.
I agree with you about the child soldiers part. Honestly I never even really thought about it much when it comes to the Gaang, but yeah, when you actually look up the definition of the word, they don't fall into that category at all.
Seeing as we never heard anyone refer to Azula as anything other than "Princess Azula", I don't think she had a military title or rank. I mean, she's the princess so she automatically out ranks anyone in the army.
Maybe the armor that she wears in book 3 counts? As well as the new golden hair piece? That's all I can think of.
I'd imagine that none of the men on her royal barge would want to try anything with her, considering they all feared her😂. Knowing Azula, what she saw while she was in the Earth Kingdom probably didn't effect her much at all since she was so focused on completing her mission. Once the war ended though and she's finally able to process things though is a different story. In a way that sort of happened to her when she had the breakdown.
Going off of how we see her fight in the show, she most likely had a lot of teachers. And I don't doubt that she most likely trained even when her teachers weren't there. How else was she going to achieve perfection? (Side note: perfection sounds like a lovely idea, but in reality it's not worth chasing after and is utterly unattainable, believe me). I have no doubts that she studied her butt off too. That couldn't have been made more obvious when she answered Azulon's question perfectly. So I'd say that it was most likely a mix of the Fire Nation Royal Academy as well as private instruction. Her family is rich after all, it's not like they can't afford it.
Post war Azula is going to need a lot of therapy for obvious reasons. She would need to realize that the one person who she thought loved her raised her to be a weapon of war, and that the other adults in her life failed to stop this because they didn't realize it was happening. Understanding that imperialism is wrong and that the war was wrong would have to be another thing that post war Azula grapples with. You don't just wake up one day and decide to completely disregard what you've been told you're whole life. It takes a very long time to unlearn all of that. We're talking years of propaganda and indoctrination, that's not going to go away with a snap of a finger. She would definitely have PTSD (honestly all of them would) and since she doesn't really have a good and stable support system unlike everyone else, it would be even worse for her.
Hmmm. In the Fire Nation I can see it being something of a mixed reaction. Some may view Azula as a hero and prefer her as the Fire Lord rather than Zuko. Meanwhile others may see her as simply being crazy and unfit to rule because of her breakdown. She would most likely have some loyalists. After all, she nearly won the war for her country with the downfall of Ba Sing Se, and "killing" Aang, her nation and father's greatest threat. She would be seen as a hero because of that. And unlike her brother, she was never a traitor to her nation.
This was a really fun ask to think about. Thanks for asking me this. And I'm really glad that you love my blog, anon😁. Feel free to send me more asks!

Writer 20 Questions
Tagged by @jedi-valjean. Thanks so much!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
Currently 115.
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
363,324.
3. What fandoms do you write for?
For the most part just Star Wars (various flavors thereof), but I have a very few Tolkien things too.
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
Cards against Monotony; or, The Best Rainy Lothal Day Ever (47)
Sixth Time’s the Charm (40)
Beautiful, Inexactly (32)
The Song, the Sea, and the Mand’alor (29)
“I saw the wolf…” (28)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Of course! I want to let my commenters know how appreciated they are! And it’s fun to meet new readers and writers.
6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I have a good number of stories with angsty endings, but the angstiest to date may be Opus Sixty-Six, in which two OC non-Human musicians captured by the Empire are forced to perform for the Emperor but resist by playing a different piece of music from what he ordered, based on what happens to the two performers at the end (not going to spoil it).
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I have a good number of stories with happy endings, too! A lot of them involve OCs, but one that involves an happy ending for an EC following from particularly angsty source material is The Rains of Scarif, in which #JynErsoLives.
8. Do you get hate on your fic?
Thankfully this has never happened to me, at least not to my knowledge.
9. Do you write smut?
Nooo. I gave it a very, very tentative try a long time ago, but it was a complete and utter no-go.
10. Do you write crossovers?
I haven’t yet, but maybe sometime I’ll try!
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
No, at least not to my knowledge.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes! Between the Porch and the Altar was translated into French by Yahiko: Entre le portique et l’autel. It was a prize that he offered for TheForce.net Fanfic’s Fanfic Awards one year, and it’s definitely one of the most unique ways I’ve ever had a fic recognized!
13. Have you ever co-written a fic?
Just a few times, and the results are posted on the TheForce.net forums rather than AO3: Cupcakes for a Cupcake (with Ewok Poet) and Dinner at the Hungry Hutt (with Chyntuck). But I also had aikisenshi (TheRynJedi) contribute part of chapter 22 of Shaman, Traveler, Oracle.
14. What‘s your all-time favorite ship?
I am of course partial to those that involve OCs of mine, but in terms of established characters, perhaps Kanera, and perhaps the Frog Lady and Frog Gent? I don’t tend to think in terms of ships most of the time, though (but have nothing against those who do).
15. What’s the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I used to say this about The Book of Gand, but it may not actually be in that category anymore! Actually, currently nothing is in that category for me right now, but that could certainly change.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Setting descriptions! OC creation! Whimsical humor! Economy of expression! Worldbuilding! Anything involving alien cultures/traditions/ceremonial/etc.!
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Action and battle scenes! Political intrigue! Characters double- and triple-crossing each other! Overly long sentences with too many clauses! Too many em dashes! Too many sentences/clauses that begin with “and” or “then”! (Linking sentences/thoughts together in general!)
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
In terms of in-universe languages, when this happens within my stories I try to signal it in some other way. In terms of real-life languages: oof, I don’t know if I’m the right woman for that job, but I have immense respect people who are able to write stories in languages other than their mother tongue.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Star Wars. One sticks with what works, I guess!
20. Favorite fic you’ve ever written?
Ah, I hate this question so much. 😁 I love them all, don’t you know! But I would say that I have a very specific soft spot for the 20K+ fics I’ve somehow managed to write: The Book of Gand and Shaman, Traveler, Oracle, just because I’m so proud of myself for managing to get through them (or, in the case of BOG, the component stories thereof, all of which are in excess of 15K words and three out of four of which are in excess of 20K).

Anyone I know (or don’t know) who is a writer who happens to see this. 🙂

Wooooheeee merch!! Me is excited!!! Food for thought, maybe you could start a kickstarter campaign or something to cover publishing costs? I know they have a publishing category 🤔 I don't exactly know their policies so it's best to check further but I've definitely seen erotica books/art campaigns on there. Might be a good idea?
Hi anon,
I think this is a cool idea if you're a) American and b) can get to a post office, lol.
The thing is, I can't do anything that would involve me fulfilling orders from my house.
Firstly, there's simply too many books to cover (Game Theory would have to be broken down into 4 volumes, with the possibility of a 2-part release later on). I don't want to run complicated and stressful Kickstarter campaigns every 6 months forever. (Not to mention, frankly, that most Kickstarter campaigns fail to earn the amount they need, and I'm still figuring out how to make minimum wage via Patreon).
I do not have the spoons to think about dealing with the shipment costs (let alone the fact that I can't drive or catch public transport and therefore get to post offices) of extremely heavy, chunky books. But what I do know is that a lot of readers will be extremely put off by shipping costs easily in excess of $50-100 alone - not including the books or the tax on the books. Australia has one of the highest tax rates for books in the world, we have some of the must punitive shipping charges (some of your favourite Australian artists use drop shippers and this is why), etc. I used to ship small original pieces of art internationally, about half the size of a piece of paper, and extremely light-weight, and the *starting price* for shipping was around $30 USD. For heaver books it shoots up immediately.
For this reason, I actually have zero confidence in how this is actually going to work out without using a drop-shipper and distributor like IngramSpark. Mosk Kickstarters don't fulfill out of Australia wherever possible. And I have no intention of paying thousands of dollars to put books in my tiny cottage, only to realise I've shafted myself and all my international readers (which is...nearly all of you) by forcing everyone to pay an extra 10% GST on the book itself along with the extortionate postage prices for what will be, honestly, heavy books (postage is calculated by weight). Not to mention that I then can't get to a post office, and am completely dependent on other people to help me with that! And then on top of that, I don't believe many books will actually sell, so I'd prefer to use third party vendors wherever possible so I can be not miserable about it. When people can always read the ebooks for free, the only folks who are going to dish out money for paperbacks/hardbacks are going to be the really hardcore fans (I do not have a ton of these, though I love every one of them), or folks who hate ebooks.
Even if I had money at my disposal, I could never use a system like this (Kickstarter / paying for the mass printing of books), and almost no Australian author would, tbh.
On the other hand, aside from the book cover fees, I could technically list a book today on IngramSpark and my only fee would be the ISBNs.
And that's way less stressful than a Kickstarter. ;) And if I get booted for my content, that's just gonna be how it is. It possibly leaves Lulu as an option, but I'd prefer not to go that route mostly because it dumps more of the cost on you folks, and it also eats more profit margins for me.
The biggest issue is and has always been tbh the editing and the fact that chunks of Game Theory need to either be completely rewritten, or removed (the spanking chapter is incredibly OOC), and working out the covers because if the story has to be broken into multiple volumes, continuity in design is vital.

Questions for Fic Writers
Tagged by @rose-of-pollux. Thank you!
(I tag everyone and anyone who wants to do this!)
How many works do you have on AO3? 74
What's your total AO3 word count? 222,374 words
What fandoms do you write for? A lotta DuckTales (2017), a good deal of Hogan's Heroes, some Singin' in the Rain, and a smattering of other stuff. Though I'm not really writing DuckTales anymore (nor am I writing the smattering of other stuff).
What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Ducktober 2017 (DuckTales 2017)
Numb (DuckTales 2017)
An Old Letter (DuckTales 2017)
A Phone Call and a Visit (DuckTales 2017)
It All Fades to Black (Encanto)
Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? I try to reply to comments left on AO3. Since you have to respond to reviews on ff.net via PM, I find it a lot harder to keep track of which I've responded to and which I haven't, so I usually don't anymore.
What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Most of my angst comes with a happy ending, and on top of that, I don't have the greatest perspective of how angsty my angst is, but I'm going to go with Exchange (Scrooge has to pay a price to get Lena back from Magica).
What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Jeez, I don't know. Most of them have happy endings. The two that come to mind are:
Things My Heart Used to Know (Louie has discovered who he is and not only found his family but also put it back together again)
Ashes (Cosmo gets to live out his happily-ever-after with the two loves of his life, Don Lockwood and Kathy Seldon)
Do you get hate on fics? Not quite hate, but I have gotten complete non sequiturs, people who don't seem to understand that I like to write scenes over full stories, and a couple of arguments over my chosen characterization of a character in one specific story (which I stand by).
Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written? I've never written any, though that doesn't stop me from thinking about them. Lately I've been thinking about Captain Carter visiting the 4077th.
Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not that I know of.
Have you ever had a fic translated? No.
Have you ever co-written a fic before? The closest I've ever come to co-writing a fic was when @eggs-arent-real wrote me a one-shot and I wrote her a sequel. We didn't post it, though.
What's your all-time favorite ship? Probably Cosmo/Don/Kathy from Singin' in the Rain. I'm also partial to Stucky and Aziraphale/Crowley.
What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will? Good question. I've not given up on any of these, mind you, but my Darkwing Duck plot bunnies may fall into this category; it's just that I have to rewatch a significant portion of the show to pull them off, and I have no idea when that's going to happen.
What are your writing strengths? Back in high school, I was told by multiple people that I was really good with imagery. I also tend to like my dialogue, and I've had a lot of practice writing whump and hurt/comfort scenes, so I'd like to think I'm pretty good at those, too.
What are your writing weaknesses? Coming up with full plots (as opposed to random, out-of-context scenes). And also endings. And getting characters from point A to point B without any/much dialogue.
Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? If that's how a character speaks, then that's how a character speaks. Personally, I try to avoid it unless it's a canon piece of the character and/or it's plot relevant. I think I've only done it for Panchito and Jose of the Three Caballeros. And also Mark Beaks, who canonically peppers his speech with Spanish when talking to Fenton because he is awful.
First fandom you wrote for? Liberty's Kids. There's a good chance I still have it, too, though I'll never post it (I never finished it, anyway).
The first fandom I wrote for and posted was Iron Man: Armored Adventures, which is also the only fic I've ever deleted off the internet.
Favorite fic you've ever written? I've gotta go with these two:
Things My Heart Used to Know
“We’ll meet up in Duckburg,” he heard Scrooge say. “I’ve got a Bin there, and…” Another explosion, the biggest one yet, shook the Bin, and large chunks of plaster fell around them. “We have to go,” Donald said. Scrooge turned to Louie and pressed something small and solid and round into his hand. “Guard it well,” he told him before disappearing into the smoke. Or, Louie gives a new meaning to the nickname “Captain Lost.”
Ashes
Cosmo drinks his sorrows away after Kathy discovers that he and Don are more than just friends.

You Can Easily Choose the Best Clothing Brand
Over the years, the garment industry has grown significantly and evolved into the fiercely competitive sector it is today. The decision-making process might be difficult for the average consumer because there are so many different brands to pick from. A critical choice based on a variety of elements that must be taken into account is which brand is best dresses online for an individual. It's crucial to choose the proper brand because what you wear reveals a lot about your personality.
Tumblr media
Find the right fit
When picking a brand, the fit of the clothes is the most important factor because stylish clothing depends on the fit. The appropriate outfit highlights particular traits and enhances your physique. Guys or women with odd body types, such as guys who are abnormally tall or short and heavy-built, may have trouble finding a comfortable fit. Many brands provide clothes that are either too long for slender men or women or too short for some males.
Know your style
Knowing your preferred fashion style is important because every brand represents a particular look. Who you are is reflected in your sense of style. The way one dresses reflects their lifestyle, aspirations, and much more. Despite the fact that a brand's "look," "style," or "appeal" may vary or develop over time, these aspects must be taken into account.
Research Fabric Material
Researching the fabric specified in the product description is crucial because you cannot touch it. The texture of a piece is frequently difficult to see from a photograph. Therefore, it's a good idea to become familiar with the fabric's composition. When you finally get the Best dresses online you've been eyeing for months, there's nothing worse than discovering that the fabric is like sandpaper.
Free Shipping
Make the perfect fashion statement with Shree and get free style delivery to your door. Don't you find the four-word letter "free" to be overly alluring and attention-grabbing? Particularly when purchasing online, we are instantly pulled to it. You must try out some of our collection's top sellers and trend-setters since we offer free shipping on all of our products within India. Your calling is a lovely blue poly silk dress with a dupatta and floral embroidery. Grab the Best dresses onlineright away, and wait for free delivery to your front door.
Use flexible Filters
Online apparel stores offer a dizzying array of options, which can be daunting. However, avoid getting lost in the crowd. Many online retailers offer filters to help you focus your search. It is done to prevent duplicates from showing up in the same category. These filters truly assist you in finding the content you want.
The lovely teal dress you see in the picture is a one-of-a-kind garment with a cape with stylish prints. Just for you, we have focused this particular search. Similar to this, if you are narrowing down your alternatives while shopping online, ask yourself questions.
Keep a Track
Keep a record of the brands you purchased from online, noting the sizes you ordered and how they fit. Future purchases will be significantly simpler as a result. You'll need to stop speculating about how their products function in addition to keeping a list of the brands you appreciate. However, you may still enjoy some fashion fun for a while by adding this stylish brown cotton zigzag dress to your cart.

Fictober '19 Prompt No. 9 — "There is a certain taste to it."
Category: Original WIP: The Darkspace Portent series Rating: M Timeline: anytime after Rebirth CW: Sexual conversation and implication throughout pretty much the entire thing lol Word Count: 961 Additional Notes: as were and will be all of the ninth fictober pieces fall on my birthday so I just take as many liberties as I like for them
***
"What do I taste like?"
Thrive lifted his eyes from the tablet resting on his knee to offer Warren a look of cautious questioning. "In reference to…?"
Warren, depositing a spoonful of cereal from his mug into his mouth, reclined in his seat, propping his feet up in the comm console and avoiding pressing any buttons that could cause this conversation to be broadcast out into the rest of the ship. He knew an odd question would pull Thrive out of his impenetrable concentration and he nearly pat himself on the back for succeeding. "In reference to…things you've experienced. Certain favors you've done for me." A grin of mild modesty dawned on his face along with twinges of heat. He tapped the spoon with his teeth. "You know."
Thrive carefully turned his chair so he faced Warren, the hint of inquiry now full-blown suspicion if his narrowed eyes were any indication. "…Are you asking me what your semen tastes like?"
The emptiness of the bridge dropped into Warren's bones like a rapid ascent from the bottom of the ocean. He cleared his throat around the next spoonful he chewed with difficulty. "I don't know what I expected just then, but it probably should've been exactly what you just said."
"Don't be ashamed of your curiosity. We're both adults of our respective species," Thrive said, a tad too sly in his tone and the way he looked at Warren with an impish smile far out of character. He scrolled through the tablet and shrugged a shoulder. "There is a certain taste to it."
"Not that you'd have a frame of reference, right?"
"Precisely. I will say, however, that it's distinctly…you."
"Probably a really weird concept to an alien, I bet."
Again, Thrive shrugged. "It's truthfully not the most outlandish form of relaying passion or devotion I've ever witnessed. And do you or do you not have species of animals on Earth that end reproduction with exploding genitalia?"
Warren chuckled. "Damn. You right."
"Why did you think to ask me something like that?"
Stirring the chunks of bland chocolate and powdered sugar rings in the milk, Warren flushed a bit at the ears. "Been thinking about it."
"Mm," Thrive hummed. "I'm sensing an approaching retreat."
"What's up?"
"The conversation has a tendency to turn very blue when you're close to needing personal time with me."
"Wow, no verbal blunt force trauma this time? You feelin' okay?"
"Am I wrong?"
Warren looked at him for a moment, taking in the black form suit with the silver zipper that ran from the top of the collar to the very center of his abdomen. The ring that determined that zipper's fate dangled from his throat, oblivious, every so often catching the dimmed light of the bridge and the much brighter console. Thrive himself either didn't notice him staring or pretended not to notice, switching his attention from the tablet to the volumetric navigation screen casting a golden glow on his face and shoulders.
"No," Warren said, the spoon lingering around his lips. "You're definitely not wrong."
"Would you like to try it?"
A beat passed. "…Try…what?"
Thrive looked at him and quirked an eyebrow, sending a bolt of heat directly into the pit of his gut.
Warren bit his lip. "I mean…I guess I'm kinda curious?"
"Right," Thrive said, perching the tablet on top of the console. "This vessel can operate on autopilot for an hour before needing authorization to continue, so—"
"Let's do it here."
Thrive regarded him with mild surprise. "…Oh?"
Grinning again, Warren nodded. "Yeah, man. Lock the door."
Elsewhere on the ship, a game of ancient chess between Guetry and Scotty grew into an intense standoff, one move away from total obliteration on Guetry's part, and he tapped the board with the bottom of the black queen. He examined the arrangement of pieces, formulating each possible move in his mind, coming to the frustrating conclusion that playing against an AI was definitely as futile as it's always been portrayed to be.
"Do you possess the courage to take that chance?" Scotty quipped via Guetry's wrist device. "You may not last as long as you're expecting."
"Yeah, shut up," Guetry grunted. "I'm trying to save face here."
"The bridge has been locked down."
"Wow, breaking news." Guetry scooted the piece across the board, visualizing the same moves he'd gone over several times in an attempt to find one he didn't think about. "Could you maybe let me win once? Is that too much to ask?"
"Would that carry the same weight of winning because you bested me in earnest?"
Guetry snorted. "I don't know, dude. I'm already dumb enough, I don't need to get my ass absolutely whupped at this every damn time."
"I apologize."
"It's not your fault, I should know better than..." He paused, his frown deepening. He glanced at the discarded chess pieces on the surface of the table. "…The bridge is locked?"
"Correct."
"Is someone in there?"
"I estimate two people."
"Oh, okay. That's not a big deal." Guetry instantly slammed the piece down on the board, sending Scotty's valid pieces flying. "Wait. Hold on. Stop talking. Shut up."
"That would require me to have been talking in the first place."
"Warren was up there on bridge duty, right? With the obhelian? Did they leave?"
"They did not."
"Yeah." Guetry cracked his knuckles in agitation. "My shift's in like, an hour and a half and I'm just gonna be thinking about what they're doing in there."
"Is that a problem?"
Guetry sighed. "I just didn't think Warren would ever be okay with having sex on the bridge. I'm gonna have to rewrite a lot of my fanfiction now."
He tossed the queen into the wall and crossed his arms.

Ten ways to maximize your order fulfillment strategy
Your customers’ experience with your business is the key to your long-term success, and in the world of ecommerce, order fulfillment is particularly vital. After all, nobody wants to wait too long for something they order online or wonder if it will turn up at all.
In-house fulfillment can be a struggle, but it doesn’t have to be. By optimizing your order fulfillment strategy, you can save on operational costs, improve customer satisfaction and avoid some of the biggest headaches involved in operating online marketplaces.
The purpose of a streamlined order fulfillment strategy
Order fulfillment without a strategy can lead to significant headaches, wasted time, and excessive cost. On the other hand, optimizing your order fulfillment process can benefit you in several ways.
Decrease shipping costs
In the world of ecommerce, shipping costs can slash your profitability, but passing those costs down to the consumer will just make it difficult to compete with competitors who offer free shipping.
So, when you build an optimized order fulfillment strategy, shipping costs should be a central focus. This means investigating the different shipping providers, reviewing the costs of various shipping services, and choosing the best option for each product you sell. You might be surprised how much money this saves you in the long run.
Improve inventory management
Inventory can quickly get out of hand when you operate an ecommerce platform, costing you both time and money. Mishaps affecting your inventory can even cause you to lose sales, putting a ceiling on your top-line revenue.
A solid order fulfillment strategy, then, takes inventory management into account.
Part of an effective strategy is following sales trends to get an idea of how long each piece of inventory sits in your fulfillment center before it’s shipped out. This means the days of ordering too much or too little inventory are in the past.
Optimization in this category has the potential to increase sales and reduce storage costs.
Increase fulfillment rate
Every time an order falls through the cracks and goes unfulfilled, you’re losing money! It may be difficult to achieve a 100% order fulfillment rate without a strategy, but with a maximized fulfillment strategy, it’s much easier.
Tumblr media
Create a better customer experience
What does order fulfillment mean to your customers? Everything! Human beings crave instant gratification, especially when we shop. That makes order fulfillment a big part of customer service.
The faster and more efficiently your customers can get the gratification they crave, the better your customer satisfaction scores are likely to be. By optimizing your order fulfillment strategy, you can make your customers happier, drive sales, and ultimately increase your earnings.
10 ways to improve fulfillment operations for your business
If your order fulfillment process is less than streamlined, it’s time to make a change. There are so many benefits to maximizing your order fulfillment that it doesn’t make any sense not to.
Here are 10 ways you can start to improve your fulfillment process immediately.
1. Invest in fulfillment software to provide better supply chain visibility
You’ve likely heard the old adage that “it takes money to make money.” This means that you sometimes have to make an investment in your business to improve processes and create growth.
Order fulfillment is one area that deserves such an investment.
One of the best ways to improve your strategy is to get a better understanding of your overall supply chain. Consider investing in a piece of fulfillment software that makes it easy to visualize and optimize your supply chain. Sure, doing so may set you back a few bucks, but not doing so is likely costing you far more.
2. Be strategic with your warehouse layout
After a short while in operation, McDonald’s temporarily shut down, drawing up different kitchen layouts and optimizing the process, becoming one of the first and largest fast food chains in the process.
Your warehouse layout is just as important as the kitchen layout at McDonald’s. Consider the following when planning your warehouse layout:
Time. Your layout could add time to the shipping process. For example, time is wasted if your employee packs a box and has to walk across the warehouse to get a packing slip. Make sure your layout makes the fulfillment process as efficient as possible.
Space. Space costs money; the more you maximize your space, the more money you save. Think about how much space you need and how to get the most out of every square inch in your distribution centers.
3. Identify your shipping capacity
There are a few things involved in shipping:
Inventory. You have to have the inventory on hand to ship.
Time. It takes time for you or your employees to pack, label, and ship each package.
Costs. Shipping costs could limit your capacity if you’re experiencing turbulence in your cash flow.
Taking all of these things into account, think about the maximum number of packages you can send in any given time period. This is important to know because you may get close to maximum capacity as your business grows. As you get close, it’s important to further optimize and expand your fulfillment process so no orders fall through the cracks.
4. Pinpoint areas in the fulfillment process that take too much time
Order fulfillment in ecommerce is all about speed. Remember, human beings are hardwired to crave instant gratification. Moreover, processes that take too long increase your overhead costs because you may need to pay for additional hours of labor.
Cut down your operational expenses and get orders to your customers faster by taking the time to carefully review each step of your order fulfillment process.
As you review each step, look for any aspect of the process that takes too much time. Such delays may have to do with a lack of efficiency in your warehouse layout, the product itself, or even unnecessary steps that could be completely removed from the process.
5. Take your shipping options into consideration
When you think about shipping, the first names that likely come to mind are UPS, USPS, and FedEx, but they’re not the only shippers around. It’s important to compare all of your options before you decide which shipping carriers you’re going to work with.
Keep in mind that shipping companies are in business to make money, and there’s no law dictating what services they have to provide and at what cost. As a result, some carriers offer different shipping methods than others and prices can vary wildly from one to the next.
It’s also important to note that one carrier might have a lower cost for standard shipping and another may have a lower cost for express or other services. So, your best shipping strategy is likely to work with multiple providers.
Think about each product you have to offer and look for the lowest cost and most efficient shipping options. You stand to save a significant amount of money if you play your cards right.
6. Understand the relationship between incoming inventory and fulfillment
Ecommerce is cyclical. The cycle is simple:
You spend money on inventory.
Inventory sits in your warehouse waiting to be sold.
You sell the inventory.
You ship the inventory.
You collect money.
You repeat the process.
Every step in this cycle is related to the overall order fulfillment process. It’s important to think about the timeframes of each of these cycles.
Having a detailed understanding of this process could mean you never run low on inventory and never miss out on sales. It could also mean you’re not paying for valuable square footage to store inventory for excess amounts of time because you ordered too much.
On the other hand, if you don’t take the time to learn about the relationship between incoming and outgoing inventory, you may end up with delayed shipments, unfulfilled orders, and missed money-making opportunities.
7. Take a look Into your packing materials: are they cost-effective?
Shipping, inventory, and manpower aren’t the only expenses involved in the fulfillment process. You also have to think about your packaging materials.
Some custom packages can cost anywhere from a few bucks to $45 just for the box your product sits in. If these costs are excessive, your customers end up having to pay higher price tags (limiting your sales) or you have to accept smaller profit margins.
Although packaging is important, it shouldn’t be such a financial burden that it’s impossible for you to compete in your market. Think about the materials you use for product packaging and how much it costs you to pack each one. Are there opportunities to reduce these costs? If so, you could increase your margins, offer more competitive prices, or both.
8. Seek out a fulfillment partner to help you scale
As your company grows, it can become more and more difficult to handle the fulfillment process on your own. The good news is that you don’t have to; there are several fulfillment options out there.
When your company has grown to the point of growing pains in the fulfillment process, consider bringing a fulfillment partner in to relieve some of the hassle.
When you compare potential partnerships, think about:
The Cost. The company that fulfills your orders for you will want to be paid for their work. Fulfillment partner pricing can vary wildly from one provider to the next, so pay attention to pricing.
Reliability. Your fulfillment partner’s reliability has a meaningful impact on your brand. You don’t want customers to be upset because your partner’s taking too long to ship orders.
Capacity. It’s important that the fulfillment partner you choose has the capacity to meet your requirements. Be sure to ask about the company’s capacity before you sign any contracts.
9. Understand your needs: do you need a warehouse location?
Every ecommerce business is unique – including yours. That means your business has unique needs that you should consider when making big decisions like how to maximize your fulfillment strategy.
If you’re a smaller company and you own a home with a garage, shed, or other storage space, you may be able to cut down on overhead expenses by foregoing a warehouse location. After all, why would you pay to store your inventory when you can store it for free at home?
On the other hand, if you have a larger business, you don’t want to be weaving your way through inventory when you go to the bathroom, so a warehouse is necessary. If that’s the case, consider your unique needs and choose a warehouse location that fits those needs. Don’t invest in a building that’s too big, or you’ll waste money. Stay away from spaces that are too small, too, or you’ll encounter other difficulties.
10. Plan ahead for seasonal sales spikes
Prepare yourself for sales cycles.
For example, most online businesses can rest assured they’ll experience sales spikes during the holiday season as consumers purchase gifts for one another. Other businesses may have different seasonal sales spikes. For example, an online nursery may see a spike in sales at the beginning of spring and another at the beginning of fall.
Review your sales trends and get to know when your sales spike. That way, you can prepare before the rush of business comes flooding through your website.
Improve your current fulfillment model for your ecommerce business today
If you haven’t already maximized your order fulfillment strategy, chances are good that you’re losing money, sales, or both, and you could be losing hundreds or thousands per month. Don’t let this money fly out of the window.
It’s time to take control, reduce your costs, improve your customer satisfaction, and relieve countless fulfillment headaches. Although the process likely seems cumbersome at first, it’s actually quite simple, and when it’s done, you might be surprised at just how efficient your business has become.
If things still seem difficult, Cart.com can help.

i'm so excited about you taking asks again ahhhh okay so. if you'd absolutely had to choose. what would be your top 5 cockles moments, and why? thank you ily <3
here’s the thing: there are so many routes i could go down with this, because cockles moments come in all shapes and sizes and formats. these include moments from their panels, their bloopers, the footage we get when they don’t even know they’re being recorded, stories being passed down from photo ops & autographs(one of my personal favorite ways to get cockles, tbh, because they’re all insane), and social media(tweets to each other, instagram posts & comments, etc.).
SO! since many a list like this has already been made, and i want to stand out from the crowd, what i’m gonna do is definitively give the number one spot to each of these five categories.(i might even throw in honourable mentions because they’re so despicably in love that they warrant that. i really put my whole pussy into this, guys, i hope you’re happy.)
disclaimer: these are my own personal opinions. but that also means i’m right. so. enjoy.
number one: top cockles panel moment
so we’re starting off with a bang, because how do you even BEGIN to rank what atrocities jensen and misha commit at jibcon. every single one they’ve had is damning in it’s own right, for different reasons.
however, considering just how much unabashed fuckery they’ve given us to sift through, it’s a good thing i do have a personal favorite despite it all. it’s heartwarming, the sweetest thing i’ve ever seen, AND it’s jarringly cinematic - mainly because it has a whole ass arc to it that was years in the making. it might even be surprising to some people, but my favorite cockles panel moment, and what i consider the one that encompasses their entire gut-wrenching journey from 2008-2013 in the most sweepingly romantic gesture possible, is this one.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
i want this burned into my retinas. i am not even joking. when i'm through with my explanation, let me convince you why this is thee most romantic cockles moment of all time.
first, some history: people call this the resume off, but many seem to forget the botched attempt at a resume off a year prior. and yes, you guessed it: it's during their break up. it's a juicy time period for a reason, guys. it came across as exceedingly one-sided and VERY awkward. let me refresh your memory as to just how bad it was, and just how hard jensen was trying and ultimately failing at winning misha over: the funniest part of the whole resume off in 2013??? every joke/bit had literally already been made/done. they were just going through the motions again, but the difference THIS time...is that misha reciprocated jensen's energy. it. is. fascinating. i want to get into it more detail in another post, and i'll link it here when i'm done, but the main takeaway, i think, and the main difference that showcases how much they've grown in a year, is that in jib 3, misha flat out refused to do an accent, and this time around, he indulges jensen for literal minutes. when i tell you they're crazy, they're crazy. i can't wait to actually dive into it later.
ANYWAY, the resume off culminates in this moment here. and, like, a million things happen in this gifset. actually, more like a million and one. the music starts playingneediremindyouthatthesongissingingintherain(h e l p), misha starts dancing, jensen 'perpetually fake grumpy' ackles lets misha think he's not going to join, misha sits down defeated, but no!!! that was jensen's plan all along(look at his stupid fucking smirk) and he offers his arm to his dance partner who immediately grins like a fool, jensen then leads misha into their kick step, they perfectly synchronise and let loose, and are then very clearly having the time of their lives, hanging off of each other with joy and ease. from their expressions alone i can tell that this moment is so. so. so. so! much more than what initially meets the eye. i mean-misha is fighting back the biggest smile i've ever seen. to me, it reads like jensen is offering something to misha, something that misha kind of gave up on expecting, and him offering his arm like that is like, a surprise to him in the best possible way(and it's so not platonic, let me just say that.) as soon as jensen did that, it ushered in a new era of cockles. this panel is jensen and misha's favourite for a reason, and i think this moment is the biggest clue as to why.
whew!!! ok. that took a lot out of me and that was only point one. moving on,
number two: top cockles blooper moment
cockles bloopers hold an extremely special place in my heart, because it shows just how fucking disastrous jensen and misha are. they are so goddamn infatuated with each other that they HOLD UP PRODUCTION ALL THE TIME TO FLIRT WITH EACH OTHER(???). let me repeat. let it sink in. jensen ackles; arguably one of the most professional actors on that show who puts everything he has into each scene, with mountains and mountains of notes to prove it: would rather hold up production to flirt with misha collins. this sounds fake. it's not. he does it. all. the. time. and here's the thing guys!!! i'm gonna let you in on a secret!!! misha loves it. he loveesssss it. on top of that-misha collins: overlooked because he's pranked and people assume he's unprofessional as well, but his only pranks are in retaliation/off-set, and he rarely if EVER causes problems if he can help it....lets himself get carried away when it comes to jensen making kissy faces at him!!! are you actually kidding me!!! i mean. misha. it's just a face. you've seen it a million times. i don't buy that it triggers something in you that strongly....you like it, and you like jensen's reaction. you can't fool me!!! lisa berry's face in that one gifset shows just how fed up the crew is with their gross, coupley boyfriend antics.
i could pull up so many examples. sooooooo many. but my favourite was sealed since the moment i saw it.
Tumblr media
i actually already wrote an analysis on it but i can't find it :(((( which SUCKS because i really unpacked the whole thing. i'll try to summarise.
basically, a backstory is part of this too!!! jensen and misha both had a really really hard time with this scene(because it's explicitly romantic there i said it), they sat down for hours and poured over their scripts together, they were super super nervous going into filming, both of them, jensen especially, were super hard on themselves for their performances not being true to their characters but they both complimented the other's work(boyfriend moments fr). so, yeah. they weren't confident going into shooting. and how do they get themselves to feel better???? by cuddling each other, apparently.
a lot. a LOT. happens in this specific blooper. to the point that i saw it years before i knew about cockles and it raised all sorts of flags for me.
1) stop pulling my face towards your crotch(as a thinly veiled request that misha would, in fact, move jensen's face towards his crotch, considering it was jensen moving himself there in the first place. also, why so comfy down there guys???) 2) you're my baby daddy i know(in the most intimate voice i've ever heard please) 3) i know, i know, i love you too i didn't say i love you i know but you wanted to say it etc. misha's right, of course. that's what jensen meant.
it just reeks of comfort, familiarity and intimacy between the two, and it's a moment that is extremely sweet and silly at the same time. they're so <3
number three: top cockles found footage moment
WONDERFUL category. truly the culmination of the cockles experience. many people have said that shipping cockles doesn't work because 'they're just onstage you dummies!! they're playing it up for the audience!!!' here's the thing, love. i could not disagree with you more. once you climb your way up the cockles ladder, you soon learn that they are, in fact, playing their dynamic DOWN, not up. they really are just Like That™, and they could not care less about the paying audience, if we're being honest, considering how much time they take to giggle with each other and refuse to let the audience in on the joke. and i love them for it <3
anyway, my point is that this category is for all you naysayers out there, all you 'jensen and misha's relationship is just for show and is real life queerbaiting'(?????lordhelp???) oh yeah? ok, explain this.
Tumblr media
he. he. he calls jensen sweetheart. literally enough said. there's nothing to really add here, except, misha and jared then immediately engage in damage control. jared's method is distraction and misha's is retconning('get out of the car, dude') this was what got me to buy into the cockles dumpster for GOOD good. you don't call your buddy sweetheart accidentally and sound so completely earnest while doing it! especially not when that buddy is jensen ackles!!! you think he would let any of his friends call him that? do you?
one more thing; if it was a slip of the tongue, little mouth thing or whatever, you think jared wouldn't have jumped on it immediately??? i can hear it now. 'did you just call him SWEETHEART???' yeah. that's what i thought. you know why he didn't? because it was too revealing.
number four: top cockles autograph moment
i mean, i think we all know what it's gonna be, and if you don't, well, do i have the piece de cockles resistance that is gonna send you over the edge.
if you haven't heard of this story by now, as a cockles, truther, i'm gonna go ahead and get you to read it, because there is no possible heterosexual explanation for any of it, and you're fooling yourself if you think otherwise.
spoiler alert: it's the story where phones weren't allowed in an auto session, jensen nuzzles himself in misha's hair, leans his full body weight onto him, holds his hand, etc. etc. i'm imploding just repeating this back, actually. also, just, the sheer amount of stories from photo ops where they tackle hug each other or slap each other's asses or sing romantic songs to each other or almost kiss is, frankly, a lot. if i could wish for anything, it would be to witness them in person.
and finally,
number five: top cockles social media moment
this one is super difficult, because there's obviously a lot to choose from. but you know what? full send, i'm going with this one:
Tumblr media
i just. what to say about this. how often do misha and jensen watch sunsets together for it to qualify as ‘always’ ??? why are sunsets synonymous with their relationship??? that’s like??? a very romantic thing????? ‘this guy’??? the fact that it’s a CANDID??? i don’t know guys.
that could have been better but i am TIRED so. there you go rose ily

hello,, I’ve been feeling down lately and a loved one of mine recently has passed away...
if you are comfortable with it may I request a scenario of Atsushi and Chuuya comforting their s/o who were grieving over a death of a loved one? ;0 thank you I love your blog 💖💖
𝙘𝙝𝙪𝙪𝙮𝙖 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙖𝙩𝙨𝙪𝙨𝙝𝙞 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙜𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙛
Books : Chuuya | Atsushi
Genre : Comfort, romance
Category : Headcanons, short scenario
Shelves : Hardback | Paperback
Warning : Description of grief
Note : I am deeply sorry for your loss. I can’t do emergency requests but I tried to get this one out as fast as I could. I could only do short scenarios of this so I added headcanons, I hope this is alright. Once again, my condolences and please stay strong.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Chuuya has to ask you a couple of worried questions before it strikes him what you’re dealing with.
He will be on the verge of panicking when he first hears the bad news, worse if you're the one that has to tell him what happened. He instantly undergoes flashbacks from experiencing something like this himself and he fears that your coping with the grief might harm you.
If you can’t afford to talk to him like you usually do, he understands.
He stands/sits next to you, arms crossed, occasionally glancing at you to see if there’s any change in your stance, expression, anything.
He avoids staring at you directly in concern that you'd become pressured by him.
He’s ready to catch you if your legs fail you
Holds the top of your head lightly yet firmly. If you don’t show signs of protesting, he’d slowly pull you closer to his neck.
Getting physically affectionate is his prime card to comfort you, but before anything, he takes off his gloves so he won’t dirty you.
His fingers move kind of unevenly and feel rough, but that’s how you can feel his desire to support you
If you can’t stop crying or on the verge to go on a complete mental breakdown, he immediately collides his body against yours as tight and strong as he could.
If your legs give up, he drops down with you in his arms instead of keeping you standing with his ability and he’ll clutch your face close when you both land on the floor.
If you won’t hug him first, he’ll pull you to him. He forces your face down his shoulder so you’d grieve as much as your heart can empty while his hand brushes your back up and down.
“Cry as long as you need,”
Words, as I’ve once said, isn’t his speciality, but he tries regardless. He wants to make sure that you know you aren’t alone, that you have him with you.
He doesn’t talk as much but his distressed expression stays as long as he’s with you.
“You can take it out on my shoulder, you know,” He hesitates a bit, unsure if he sounds too rough.
If you can’t stop crying, he pats your shoulder, only knowing how to say “There, there” since he thinks it’s better than saying nothing at all. Chuuya thinks you need to hear him being there.
Chuuya squeezes through his tight schedule to make time for you.
He negotiates as best as he could with Mori to give him as much time off as possible.
If it’s impossible to take a week off, he goes full rampage in his job with the thought of you in his head motivating him to finish everything as soon as possible, making a mess where he goes.
If someone gets in his way, Chuuya shouts, "I've got someone more important to see, you punk!" while blasting them away.
He always brings food and drink over and makes sure you eat. He spoon-feeds you if necessary. He isn’t the cleanest but him wiping your face clean makes up for that.
"Come on, babe, you gotta eat," Chuuya says. "They won't like seeing you grieving like this, so eat, yeah? For them?"
If the emotions exhaust you to sleep, he sits against the wall and pulls you to him so you’d sleep against his body, making sure his limbs are around you so you’d never feel the loss of pressure around your body.
If it's cold, he wraps you with a blanket and occasionally touches your fingers to know whether you're staying warm or not.
Since Chuuya’s goal is to make sure you don’t feel alone or abandoned as I’ve mentioned, he does everything to solidify his presence.
He calls often if he has to be away, he sends food delivery, leaves short sticky notes, and sends voice messages.
It’s noticeable he doesn’t know what to say and even more obvious that he wants to keep reaching out to you.
Chuuya tries to strike a light and brief conversation once in a while. He’s disturbed by your uncharacteristic silence, it scares him.
“Do you want some takoyaki?” He’d ask randomly. The anxiety on his face never wavers away.
He does any activity that comes to mind when he stays at your place, but regardless of what he does, he’s never more than three feet away from you.
Always, without fail, kisses you good morning and good night on the forehead regardless he stays at your place or not.
Or if you're not opposed to it, Chuuya wants to take you to his place. He may still have to go to work, but something doesn't feel right about leaving you alone for so long in a place he's not too familiar with. At least in his space, you're constantly reminded you're not alone and that you're there because you're never abandoned.
Tumblr media
Like a strayed ship in a storming ocean, your emotions are the waves storming your damaged vassal of conscience to the point that even looking forward to sunray from the bleak sky of endless cloud sounds mythical, making speaking a heavy chore. You’ve been exhausting yourself to sleep, soaking everything with your tears until it no longer comes out. It’s frustrating, it’s turbulent, so active in making you passive. Your tears run out but not the multiple stabs around your heart. Your voice leaves you but not the intensity or the transparency of hurt on your face.
It feels impossible, fictional, but if it were, then you aren't supposed to have your heart cauterized. It's the reminder of the bitter truth you're grappling against accepting.
If they had to go, why not bring the pain with them? Why do they have to leave you fractured, incomplete, empty, by transcending away while you stay behind, only able to watch them shrink somewhere unreachable?
Why do pieces of you have to be chipped off your already fragile soul, leaving holes in your essence? Why leave many pieces behind, why leave you alone?
“Hey,” A voice zaps your mind back to your head.
You remove your face from your wrinkled, moist, and sweaty palms, everything in front of you foggy from the swelling of your eyes. You still wear your dark clothes, unable to find the heart to change into something new, something brighter, after the sudden tragedy strikes. It was not, and still not is, in your capability to even stand up to eat.
Chuuya’s oddly timid and soft-sounding voice for this week is what makes you feel something other than rocking instability.
Slightly opening your eyes to see him, his figure before you hurts your eyes from how colourful he is. His face appears like a messy mix of vibrant paint, his orange hair, blue eyes and fair skin, and dark clothes sticking out from the stale background behind him.
A pair of silver keys, ones that unlock your door, stand out from his black-gloved hand from beneath his tightened fist. He puts it in his pocket and takes your hands, forcing you to stand and steadies your arms when your knees wobble.
"Have you eaten the lunch I had delivered here?" He pats off the dust from your shoulders and arms, his vibrant face still paining your swollen eyes.
Your eyes roll to the untouched paper bag on the table. You figure Chuuya’s eyes follow because of the stifled sigh he holds in.
"Babe, come on…"
"I can't," is what you try to say, although with your dry throat, it comes out like scorched empty words. "I'm sorry, I know you picked it with great care and thoughts so I'd eat, but I just can't, not when—" You catch a coarse breath. "Not when I'm like this, I can't yet."
"Still don't want to talk about it?" His voice squeezes. "You can't keep it in forever, you know, and you really shouldn't."
With your blurry vision, you figure that his arms extend open. A weak ‘what?’ is all you can hoarsely ask.
“Saying nothing, skipping meals and not drinking.” He says sourly. “Let out your grieve like how it should be done. That's what they'd want too."
Your tears make a reappearance at either a bad or perfect timing, depends on how you tilt your head to see it. They prickle your eyes, some rushing down your face.
“Come here,” Chuuya says, perhaps frowning from the way his voice changed.
Your eyes close slowly before opening again, your puffed eyelids troubling you from keeping your eyes opened. “I don’t think I can,” You sound like an overworked opera singer. “If I hug you, I won’t be able to let go and I might suffocate you without meaning to.”
You think Chuuya makes a sound of annoyance until a force smashes your body forward, lunging your face against him. The brief faint glow of orange earlier helps you process that he used his ability on you to bring you to him. Now his arms trap you in him, your forehead strongly weighted on his shoulder.
“Then suffocate me,” His muffled voice says from behind your head, one of his hands taking your arm to hold his body. “I’m always here.”
Your hands stretch his shirt with your tight clasp as you feel yourself getting lost in the waves. The turbulence crashes out from within you as you incoherently cry on Chuuya’s stable body, him becoming your guaranteer in the midst of the rocking forces that threaten your balance. His rigid arms support your weight as you wail out, ensuring that the waves don’t sweep you away, somewhere unreachable from him. He secures you, letting you explore the storm’s rolling waves while still grounding you safe.
“I’m here,” The soft wind in the storm grazes your ear. “I promise.”
Tumblr media
Atsushi is one of the most sympathetic and empathetic people you could ask for when it comes to comfort you through your grief.
He’s nowhere oblivious to someone who’s hurting. He recognizes what kind of pain you’re going through and it doesn’t take him too long to identify what you’re feeling and the intensity of it although he can’t process it into words.
Atsushi is so worried sick for you that he has trouble thinking straight and his breaths get faster.
He’s really anxious about you feeling left behind or abandoned.
He makes sure that you don’t doubt that your beloved one who has to leave earlier definitely loves you.
It breaks him if you think of things such as disappointing them, unable to fulfil their wishes, etc.
Atsushi can feel your hurt as if it’s his own, and because of his heightened emotional senses, he’s quick to jump in to support you. It’s instinctive.
He’s at first hesitant to touch you, let alone comfort you with his embrace, so he starts with generic sentences like “I’m so sorry” and “You can lean on me” while offering his empty shoulder
It’s challenging for him, but Atsushi is persistent to comfort you with his words before he touches you.
He insists on speaking before holding you around him.
Atsushi validates your feelings by putting his guesses of how you’re currently feeling into words. He’s not the best with words so he’ll struggle to pick his vocabulary, but the things he says are mostly true.
“I’m sorry you have to feel like your heart is becoming stiff,”
“If you feel like everything around you is empty, I’m still here,”
When he does get to the point where he feels that physical touch can help you, Atsushi is very tender.
He starts with wiping your tears away until your cheeks are drier and offers you tissues. He’ll help you blow your nose
He removes the hair sticking to your face and wipes your face until you’re dry
He hugs you like he's the one broken; putting his face on your shoulder, arms hanging from your neck. It's because that he fears that you might get as hopeless as him. He dreads for that for that happen so he holds you with the strongest Affirmation he can give.
"I'm with you, I'll always be," He keeps repeating while he hugs you.
Touches your fingers most of the time and squeezes your hand
Atsushi fights tooth and nail to get several days off to stay with you in your place. He’ll have a whole speech prepared so he can convince Fukuzawa and Kunikida
He’ll spend the morning bargaining with Fukuzawa in his office after giving Kunikida a 15 minute TED talk about how badly he can empathize with your loss and how he’s rock certain you need his company
He asks Kyouka to help him make your food that’s easy to digest for the stomach, like soup and porridge. You can best bet that she’s going to add some tofu to it.
“Kyouka-chan helped me make this fish soup,” Atsushi presents you the bento boxes, unwrapping the cloth. “Let’s eat, okay? You have to keep your stomach filled. I’ll help you.”
If he’s unable to spend the night at your place, Atsushi makes sure to arrive at 6 am sharp every day to check on you, and the earliest he’ll leave is around 8 o’clock
He cleans your place every day diligently and does an excellent job at it. Doing the dishes, cleaning the floor, making sure the sink is clean and ensures the bathroom floor isn’t slippery. He doesn’t want an untaken care living space to worsen your emotional state.
Despite always bringing fresh food, Atsushi makes sure to cook fresh batches of rice to eat with anything he delivers so if you miraculously want to eat something, you’ll have something to consume.
If he has to leave for a while, he surrounds you with plush toys. If you don't have any, he borrows Kyouka's bunny plushies collection and arranges them around you, your pillow, the corner of your bed, and on your blanket.
Atsushi never wants you to forget that your loved one loves you. He does everything in his power to remind you everyday that although they're gone, the love they have for you will eternally stay with you and that nothing can ever change that.
He hugs you while verbally reminding you of that.
His hugs always lasts a long while if you're not uncomfortable with it. He can stay long minutes in that position.
Or he sits/lays down next to you in silence, doing absolutely nothing. He's anxious about the quietness himself so his fingers are always near yours.
Words of affirmation randomly comes out. Sometimes he talks about his personal experience to encourage you that everything will be alright, sometimes he tells you the reasons to his belief why your loved one's love for you preserves through all.
He keeps his talks motivational and faithful for the future. Sometimes he'd quote the things Dazai had said to him, filtering out the nonsense if necessary, or the things he always told himself in hope for a brighter tomorrow.
Tumblr media
A breathing doll has been haunting your room for a week. It blinks, it moves, it can be spoonfed, but nobody at a glance would argue that it lives. It’s a doll. Calling it an undead is more generous than calling it a doll because of the existing needs. A doll sits inanimately, breathes at the bare minimum, and is devoid of wants and needs.
It’s the perfect status to illustrate how corpse-like you’ve been living like for this week. Your stone-cold face, just as cold fingers, eyes that barely shift, dried mouth and chapped lips make it a challenge to have you described as something living. To even use the word ‘live’ to describe you is contradictory and to hear the word ‘live’ suffocates your throat and clamps your once functioning heart. The indescribable pain mutes you, paralyzes you, turning you doll-like.
A broken doll, you are, once full, once living and moving until the one you love had to bid life farewell first without warning.
One tireless and loyal white-haired boy frequents you every day, bearing food and water to make sure the living doll in your room doesn’t fade into the cold. Cobwebs would have formed between your arms and your bed if he didn’t clean you off the filth you don’t bathe away, your nerves have been too dormant for you to feel filthy.
A bright white figure shifts around in front of you like a poltergeist. You pay it no mind. This isn't the first or second time you're seeing things that aren't there, or rather, someone who isn't supposed to be here. Your cluelessness to cope with the grave reality seems to have driven your brain on autopilot, it seems that this time it decides to give you a hallucination so you'd have someone to cling to.
A sudden snap startles your eyes to open wider, albeit without focus. Something black was in front of you, it had five branches and moves so... humanly. Like it's real. You trace it back to the white hallucination in front of you and it takes you a while to realise that you aren't hallucinating. The white haired boy who has been frequenting your place is here again today.
"Atsushi..." His name falls emptily through your teeth.
Atsushi’s mouth opens and his lips move in accordance. His face wrinkles to the centre. The inconsistent pressure he applies around your cold hand before holding you as tight as now tells you of how fragile he knows you are.
His mouth opens again familiarly. You shift your eyes to him without any effort to listen through the incoherent sound.
When his lips move for the third time, you figure out he has been calling your name. You blink twice and his chest deflates with a long exhale.
“You’ll pull through,” His hold around your hand boldens as he grit his teeth. “They had to depart first but they did so while loving you. You're loved, they love you. You can use that to push on, their love for you lives on and so do your memories of them.”
He observes you with high intensity as if expecting you to speak. You notice the disappointment when all your eyes do is gaze hollowly through him. You think he breathes in a sob from the sudden squeak he makes.
Your eyes lazily roll to follow your hand Atsushi lifts to put against his face. “I’m with you, I'll always will be. You’re not alone, you’re not alone, you’re not alone.” He chants. “You’re never alone, you’re never alone.”
He brings your hand down against his chest. Something beats inside to hammer you the reminder that it will never stop thrumming. The warmth reminds your nerves of something. It feels contagious, bringing you recollecting something you used to feel often.
“I promise, I promise, I promise,” Atsushi hurriedly says, “I’ll always be here for you.”
Like a mantra, his words deliver the familiar sensation his chest makes you feel to your essence. After your slowed blink, you tilt down your head and tilt back up, repeating that movement until it’s fitted to be called a nod. Atsushi heaves a breath out and pulls your hand to get between his arm and side until your upper body drops against his.
“They watch over you, I promise,” His hand holds your head as you passively breathe on his shirt. "Anytime and anywhere, they're with you, and so am I.” He says airily. "You're never alone and never will be. They're with you and I'm staying forever, you'll never see your side empty, I promise they watch over you, I promise, I promise, I promise,"
Your head tilts to the side, giving more space to breathe. His solid body exudes more of the feeling you don’t realize you crave. It reaches your throat eventually, nourishing you with words you once lost.
"Thank you," You whisper.
A living doll you temporarily are but not forever, and most certainly, a loved human you are for as long as the memory of your beloved and Atsushi keep you close to them.

_____
Spencer 15:
The smell was always the first thing I noticed when I woke up from a restless sleep. It meant I was alive, that the terrors that danced across my eyelids like a ballad of the doomed were not real. I never believed in the Higher Power, but if there was an Evil Spirit, it possessed my mind the second my guard fluctuated.
The smell, however, the one made up of stiff air that paralyzed you and blood you weren’t sure was yours, that smell meant I got to live another day.
It also meant I could still die.
But now I woke up in a startle because I wasn’t supposed to be here. I escaped this place before, I made it out. Did my only indicator of life just turn into my own personal Hell? Was I finally gone, seconds ago hoping for rest only to come to the conclusion that I would never get the chance?
I was back in a gray jumpsuit, and what scared me the most was how quickly I got up to make my bed.
“Reid, you have a visitor.”
Spencer 2:
They say every person in their career has a moment that changes the way they view their job forever, and I would’ve liked to continue to believe I had mine already, when I put away the first unsub that didn’t deserve the life they were unfortunately gifted to live out. I know I couldn’t sleep much after.
But now that I hurry past empty cells and recreation rooms on my way to a stone box with a killer, I changed my mind.
This was my moment.
I had to keep up with Hotch, and I wish it was because I was scared of getting lost, but it wasn't. If I lose Hotch, I’m afraid I’ll lose my life.
We just had to reach the interrogation room, and we’ll be fine. We just have to talk to... to who?
Who are we here to see? Why am I here?
“Hotch.” The older man stopped his fast pace to turn to me exasperated. I would have that expression too if someone stopped me in a place like this, but here I am, feet stuck to ground like a fear-inducing glue because I can’t remember why I’m here.
“What’s wrong, Reid?”
“Why am I here?” Hotch didn’t get angry, or confused at my question. Instead, Hotch’s face turned into something that was a prized rarity at other times, but right now, it ran my blood cold.
He nodded at me, his face visibly relaxing with understanding, and kindness spreading from his eyes into mine.
“You have someone here you need to see.”
And then he just continued the path we were on until we reached a metal door with a window not large enough to see who was waiting for me on the other side. I didn’t get too close, giving myself a 5 foot head start in case I needed to run, but Hotch would never put me in a position like that, right?
He would never use me as a pawn in a game of life or death.
“Whenever you’re ready.” By the time all the questions flooded through my head like a tsunami that made it to the tip of my tongue, Hotch was gone.
The invisible magnetic field between myself and the door was a force backed up by science. I felt the way it tugged me forward, like negative and positive electrons charming me with the song of the buzzer unlocking it.
When I was ready, he said. Would I ever be ready for the feeling that washed over me? I felt the weight of the world rest on my shoulders, stuck in an ocean made entirely of resin, slowly hardening around me to keep me trapped.
But I still grasped the cool metal doorknob, and I wish I took a deep breath before entering. It was the wrong call on my part, because I walked in and all the oxygen left my lungs in a flash.
The air in the room felt different. It hung with the purpose of imprisoning those who dare breathe it into their lungs. Enchantment and intoxication were meant to hold beauty and grace, leading the charmed to a fulfillment in life worth living.
But the eyes of Medusa were in the room with me, and I was stupid enough to turn to stone.
“Who are you?” How could I ask that? I knew the answer by looking into his eyes. I say his, because they weren’t mine. Sure, they had the same hazel color, and the same round, boyish shape, but they looked so dull. Sadness, the kind that moves mountains and starts wars, was buried deep in the beholder, casting a shadow over his soul.
I didn’t stare for very long. I couldn’t.
“You know who I am.” His voice was worse. “I know why I’m here. Sit down.”
“I- I just... Absolutely not! This is- this, I- I can’t. I have to get out of here.” Insanity! It had to be. I was staring at a person I didn’t know, yet knew every little detail about, and I couldn’t breathe.
“Sit down before you panic.” There was no point in lying and saying I was fine, he knew it would be a lie. We weren’t just profilers.
So I sat, taking my time to round the table and pull the chair farther back to establish a far enough distance between us. He did the same. Of course he did.
“Answer my question,” I whispered, looking down at the place where the leg of the table met the top.
“There are far better questions to ask me.” He was right, there were more pressing matters at hand, but how do you ask someone what landed them in a jumpsuit when you were terrified of the answer?
“Did- is time travel a thing?” The second the question left my mouth, I realized how absurd it was, but so was staring into the cracked funhouse mirror I was currently stuck in front of.
“Come on, we don’t have much time, and that’s what you want to ask me? Dig deeper.” Is this how Morgan feels when I’m always right?
How could I dig deeper when it all went so far that the only thing consuming my soul was a bottomless black hole? The memories flashing from projectors all around me as I sank further until eventually my oxygen ran out. Going deeper meant letting the weight of my heart push against my chest like a rock thrown into the depths of the ocean, but I suppose he would follow me.
“What happened?” I looked up to see him take a deep breath, leaning back in the chair with careful contemplation. There was something more though, something that lingered the second we met eyes.
Jealousy. There was nothing of myself to be jealous about, however.
“We made too many mistakes.” We. Only one of us was in the jumpsuit. There had to be some way to avoid that, right?
“God, this is insane!” I promptly shouted, standing up frantically. “You’re the prisoner here, not me, okay? I didn’t do anything. You did. How am I even here? What is happening, I don’t understand.” At the end of my yelling, I was so far out of breath that I had to lean against the wall. “What is this?”
“Tobias Hankel.” No no no, it can’t be. Am I dead?
“Sit down.” I listened immediately this time, too exasperated to care about being cautious about it.
“You’re with him right now, and from what I can tell, you’re probably in a drug-induced dream.” My head shot up at the mention of Tobias’s coping mechanism for myself. “When you wake up, I don’t expect you to hold onto hope, but for that quick second you let go, don’t feel guilty about it. It will eat you alive if you do.”
“You’re insane.”
“Maybe, but I’m right, and you need to listen to everything I’m telling you.” I was never one to make demands like this.
“And if I do? Will it stop me from becoming you?”
“No, probably not.” Before I had the chance to get angry again, I watched the way his eyes started to glisten with tears. I watched him crack a little bit more, adding to the already gaping slashes across his heart. How many more until he breaks?
“Leave them in his pocket,” he continued after taking a grounding deep breath. “You don’t need it.”
“What are you talking about?” Secretly, I knew what he was meant, because after this nightmare ended I would be back in a far worse one silently begging to return to this interrogation room.
There were so many thoughts running through my head that it was hard to focus on just one. Plus, I wasn’t really getting any context here.
“I don’t think I can give you many details. I don’t even know if we’ll remember this, or how I got here, but we don’t have much time. There are so many things you need to know.”
“I know practically everything.”
“No you don’t, kid. You know nothing.” He suddenly stood up, walking over to the wall on our left, leaning a hand against it and hanging his head. “When you feel like something is wrong with him, don’t keep it to yourself. Tell Hotch, request time off, do whatever you have to do. Just, go visit him.”
“Who?”
“You’ll know.” There was so much guilt in his voice that I felt it in my chest. It was like a hole was drilled into me, leaving my heart exposed to vultures who wouldn’t hesitate to rip pieces from me.
“What about my mom? Do I... you know?”
“No, you don’t, but promise me something.” He turned to look at me again, hazel meeting hazel. “On days that she’s lucid, tell her everything. Tell her what you ate for breakfast, and that one time Morgan fell trying to kick a door open. Tell her about the dark parts, about how much you love her. Tell her everything.”
“Oh God is she-”
“No. I don’t think I should be telling you that, but no. Don’t think like that.” As if remembering something, he rushed back over to sit down, pulling his chair in and leaning over the table. “Stop running every negative outcome of every situation in your head. Be careful, but don’t be so careful it becomes reckless. That’s how people get hurt, including you.”
“Is that what happened to you? Is that how you ended up here?”
“No. I’m innocent, always was. I ended up in here because I let myself get blinded by a fantasy I had no business dreaming about. There’s going to be times for you to have dreams bigger than yourself, but the second they start to become nightmares, you have to pull yourself back. Don’t get trapped, kid.”
“You know, Morgan calls me ‘kid’. I don’t really know if I like it or not.”
“You’ll come to love it, but with Morgan, don’t push him away. He’s one of the only few people in this world that won’t scrutinize or judge you, and you need to be honest with him.”
“Why?” After asking, I immediately regretted it, because his answer was the one I’ve been dreading the most.
“Because things are going to hurt you, and it’s okay to ask for help every once in a while.”
“What things? Tell me,” I begged, rushing my words and internally cringing at how desperate I sound, but I needed to know. I needed to know the truth.
“When you fall in love, tell her.” He casted his eyes downward, staring at his hands rough and calloused from the years, kind of like Hotch.
“Is it... is it JJ?”
“No,” he let out a breathy laugh, shaking his head softly. “You’ll learn one day the difference between being in love with someone, and just simply loving them.”
I couldn’t help the disappointment spread through me for a second, but I quickly gained my composure when I remembered I’m sitting across a profiler.
“This is too much.” My brain was starting to hurt.
“I know, and I’m sorry. I’m sorry for everything.” A question crossed my mind causing my hands to stop their fidgeting for just a moment, but as quickly as it came, it was gone and my hands resumed. He caught it though. Of course he did.
“What was that thought?”
“My d-” I cleared my throat before continuing. “William. Did he ever...?” I let the words fade out, hoping that he would understand where I was going. He did. Of course he did.
“No.” He took a deep breath, eyebrows furrowing and jaw clenching tightly. “He didn’t.”
“Oh.” While I was disappointed, he looked angry. As sick and twisted as it was, I wish I was more like him. Even with the despairing look in his eyes that came with agonizing memories, he was the man everyone expected me to be.
He looked at me as if he also wished the roles were reversed. Of course he did.
The edges of the room slowly started to get fuzzy, my vision blurring for a second. “You’re waking up.”
“Can- can I ask you something?” Even though I was terrified of the answer.
“Of course.”
“When did it all go wrong?” He let out a long sigh before running his hands down his face.
“I can’t tell you the exact moment, because even I’m not sure. I can tell you that even when it doesn’t feel like it, you’re alive. You survived, and on some days that’s all that’s going to matter.”
“Do you smell that?” Please say yes, because the smell of burning fish hearts and livers was burning my nostrils and clouding my head.
“Wake up, Spencer. It’s okay.”
“Wait!”
Spencer 15:
My eyes shot open only to be met with blinding lights that seared my pupils. The beeping coming from the machine next to me was the second thing I noticed, and the third was a very alarmed Penelope.
“What happened?” My voice was raspy, and my throat burned intensely.
“You don’t remember? Spencer, you collapsed.”
“Oh.” I couldn’t think of what else to say. Logically, I knew I probably sustained a head injury from the explosion, but when I tried to think beyond that, my brain got fuzzy.
“Are you okay? You know, besides the whole passing out thing?”
“Y-yeah, I just.” I stopped talking. Just what? Penelope hummed curiously for me to continue, but I couldn’t.
“I think I got a second chance.” No matter how vague it was, how little she knew of what that truly meant, Penelope beamed with joy at my answer, and I smiled right back.
“I’ll go get the doctor.” And when she left, I stared up at the ceiling, hoping that the scared kid I used to be took my advice.
