Notes on Dragon Age: Vows & Vengeance Episode 1
This is more of a dry info post than a speculating & thoughts post hh. (I really liked the episode!)
---
Episode 1: Once a Thief…
... "always a thief". 😊
EPISODE DESCRIPTION: Nadia Carcosa, a reformed thief, returns to her criminal roots after a wedding proposal goes sideways and her partner Elio, a revered mage in the Tevinter Imperium, gets dragged into a conspiracy with world-shattering consequences.
---
The picture for this episode features the faction symbols of the Shadow Dragons and the Mourn Watch.
It's Neve who appears in this episode. This tweet & art piece were referring to Neve.
In the opening scene, the tavern singer (not Maryden Halewell) is performing Oh, Grey Warden, the tavern song from Dragon Age: Inquisition.
The first piece of elven that Solas speaks is "Ar dirthan'as ir elgara, ma'sula e'var vhenan". It appears in this banter dialogue between Solas and Sera in Inquisition:
Solas: "Ar dirthan'as ir elgara, ma'sula e'var vhenan." Sera: "Pppbbthh!" Solas: "Excuse me?" Sera: "Excuse yourself, whatever you said and what I did, same difference to me." Solas: "I'd hoped, well, our people can sometimes feel the rhythm of the language despite lacking the vocabulary." Sera: "Uh huh? Know what else is good? Words that mean things. Like these. Words." Solas: "Fenedhis lasa." Sera: "Pppbbthh."
The second piece of elven is spoken by Solas and Elio. It's the elven language version of a song from Dragon Age: Origins, I Am The One.
[elven version] Heruamin lotirien Alai uethri maeria Halurocon yalei nam bahna Dolin nereba maome Ame amin Halai lothi amin Aloamin Heruamin Heruamin oh lona Imwe naine beriole Ame amin Halai lothi amin Aloamin Heruamin Ame amin Halai lothi amin Noamin Ame amin Halai lothi amin Noamin Heruamin --- [common tongue, as performed by Maryden] I feel sun Through the ashes in the sky. Where's the one Who'll guide us into the night? What's begun Is the war that will Force this divide. What's to come Is fire and the end of time. I am the one Who can recount What we've lost. I am the one Who will live on. I have run Through the fields Of pain and sighs. I have fought To see the other side. I am the one Who can recount What we've lost. I am the one Who will live on.
The podcast features new music which is credited as "Featuring original music by Hans Zimmer and Lorne Balfe". Some of the music bears a resemblance to parts of DA:TV music that we've heard before. Track G7, D'Read Koda, on the Dragon Age vinyl was composed by Hans Zimmer and Lorne Balfe. Given this tweet by dev Derek Wilks, "Absolutely incredible music in our game. Listen to it every day when I’m working, just for fun" [source] which seems to confirm it, it sounds like Hans Zimmer and Lorne Balfe are the composers of the DA:TV soundtrack.
Olen is voiced by Damien Gerard. A few months ago the listing for this actor on this website listed them as an actor for several named characters in Dragon Age: Dreadwolf: ‘Olen’, 'Marek’, 'Lord Borgiani’ and 'Templar Captain’. [source] I'm not sure if Olen will appear in the game or if this listing just called it DA:D as at that time the podcast wouldn't have been public knowledge yet. Given the listing for Olen was legit, we will likely encounter Marek, Lord Borgiani and Templar Captain at some point in DA in any event
The Eye of Kethisca
The Eye is a magical ancient artifact. It glows and exudes a magical hum, with the hint of inaudible whispers. When Elio drew power from the Fade near it, this grew louder and the artifact exploded in some kind of sonic boom, unleashing a wave of energy that tore up the ground and almost killing him. However, Solas was able to 'calm' it by speaking elven. Solas explains that the Eye was made from a rare gem mined in the caves beneath the Silent Plains. It was crafted centuries ago by a powerful Dreamer, meaning that it is connected to the Fade. Solas reveals that Elio's bloodline is tied to the Eye of Kethisca, as that Dreamer had the name An'Dante and was Elio's ancestor. Solas explains that when Elio summoned his magic near the Eye, he unknowingly formed a bond with it and it amplified his powers. When Elio asks Solas if the Eye will help fix the weak Veil in the caves, Solas replies "more or less".
Solas heard that the Venatori had plans for the relic. He obtained it before that happened.
Locations
The Arcanist Hall in Minrathous contains The Archives. These hold every object, scrap of writing, relic or antiquity that is even remotely interesting to the Tevinter Empire. These relics are held on shelves. The building is funded by the Magisterium, which pays the guards' salaries. The building is notoriously difficult to break into.
The Silent Plains: There are caves beneath the Silent Plains. Centuries ago, a powerful Dreamer called An'Dante mined a rare gem from these caves and crafted a powerful magical relic called the Eye of Kethisca. In at least one of these caves, the Veil is fragile as in ancient times, many people were sacrificed there in its grounds, and the spilled blood weakened the barrier.
There are ancient burial grounds in the Hinterlands.
Lore things
Names (podcast-specific): Edmund, Olen, Nadia Carcosa, Magister Elio Andante*, Joren, Vik
*In one place in the official transcript, "Andante" is written as "An'Dante".
Main characters: Nadia is a non-mage, a Liberati and an accomplished thief & cat burglar. Liberati are a class of people who were slaves that were freed. They are still not Tevinter citizens, and have only limited rights. She lives on a houseboat in Docktown, Minrathous.
Elio is an Altus mage, a Magister & member of the Magisterium. He is a powerful Rift Mage. He has his own estate in Minrathous. Altus mages are believed to be the descendants of the Dreamers or magisters who were able to speak to the Old Gods in the Fade. Solas reveals that Elio's bloodline is tied to the Eye of Kethisca, as the Dreamer that created the eye had the name An'Dante, being Elio's ancestor.
Spells: Flame Blast, Firestorm, Stonefist, Neve’s ice magic, a magical blast of wind
Food and drink: Fresh oyster, fresh clam, pickled krone, salt, pig, fish, Orlesian ale, rum
Animals: bird, seagull, oyster, clam, fish, cricket, horse, bat
Plants: Andraste’s Grace
There seems to be a rank in the Tevinter Templars of Sergeant.
The preview for the next episode reveals that there is a character or entity called "The Deathless One".

I was thinking about your portrayal of Naoya and I was already thinking of a JJK actor au which led me to think of how actor Naoya upon hearing that Y/N was going to be in this new romance movie, I feel like he’d immediately use all his connections(Ofc he could audition but he needs to make this a sure thing plus he’s fs a Nepo Baby XD but at least he’s got the skills too) just so he can be in that movie with Y/N(Maybe the Male lead was gonna be Nanami too!). I bet they’d end up getting together by the end of filming Teehee. You don’t have to write anything if you don’t wanna but I thought you might think this au is fun too if only to just daydream about it :D
Heya anon!!
Thank you for your patience hehe. I have to say, AU’s where Y/N or Naoya are a celebrity is kind of like my guilty pleasure; I don’t really indulge much on it because I don’t have a plot line most of the time, but this was the perfect excuse to see what I can do with it :> I just hope you enjoy it!! Also, this is going to be a two-part oneshot so… yeah hehe.
Btw, thank you all for those who voted for fluff, but we know how this goes so I had to put a little bit of drama somewhere :) it’s Naoya we’re talking about.
Warnings: AU. Naoya and Y/N are actors; he’s an idiot, a nepobaby, womanizer, etc etc, but we already knew all that. What’s interesting is his so called redemption OOF.
Happy reading!
Established actor Naoya that’s quite popular amongst the audience even with the rumors of his difficult work ethic, less than desirable personality, and blatant nepotism, thanks to his good looks and deceiving charm.
Because of his status, whatever project he wants, he gets. Sure, there are some that still have the audacity to require an audition from him, but it’s just a formality that he dejectedly complies to—Naoya knows that even when doing a bad job, he’ll still get the part at the end of the day.
But that doesn’t mean Naoya goes for any kind of role; he’s quite specific about what he wants: a pretty co-star.
And the studios had a variety of reasons to allow such demands, starting from a financial benefit: with a handsome face like his to match with an equally attractive coworker, he’ll only sell-out all functions; and in turn, he’ll get his fair share of enjoyment with his fellow partner of the moment. The same ones he discards immediately after getting bored; careless if they unwittingly got feelings for him—but nonetheless a win-win situation all around.
Such a quick lifestyle has him already setting eyes on his next target, a relatively unknown rising star with a seemingly promising future whom he was immediately smitten by upon seeing her for the first time, just as the rest of the world was.
“Y/N L/N” Naoya would repeat, enjoying how the sound of your name rolled off his tongue—fitting for someone of your beauty: vibrant eyes, rosy cheeks, shiny hair… and to top it all off, a humble yet shy demeanor that just made his obsession for you grow tenfold.
Wouldn't be the first time he’s grown interested in up and coming actresses, because in Naoya’s perspective, they’re much easier to impress, far more gullible to manipulate how he wants…
But it would be the first time he’s ever been so desperately obsessed to be with, for soon after he saw you, you became all he thought about. Causing him issues with his current fling (it briefly grazed the headlines, his team quickly fixed that)and some commitments he almost fumbled, keyword: almost.
Naoya couldn’t explain it; there was just something about you that attracted him, almost like you were destined to be together.
He needed you—one way or the other—and he needed you now.
Per usual, he soon demanded his manager and assistants to get a detailed list of all your upcoming projects, to see which ones he could be part of, and if neither were to his advantage, make those opportunities. Naoya was not to let you go so easily.
”A movie adaptation for some romance series that’s been in the talks for a while now.” His manager highlighted. “It’s her biggest work yet as a protagonist—in fact, development just started because of her.”
”Romance?” Naoya breathed, excited at the implications. “Do they have the male lead yet? I don’t think I need to tell you what I want, do I?”
”Oh, uh, no—you don’t, but… about that—“
”What is it?” It was always frightening to see how easily his behavior oscillated when facing his disapproval, but once already here…
“What?! What do you mean the casting’s already done?! Why wasn't I made aware of this????”
Because as obvious as his womanizing ways were, it would be physically impossible to have him assist every single call in hopes he’d settle with someone attractive enough for his standards.
Besides, this project already had their co-stars in mind way before it was even announced, the studio was just waiting for the right female lead to come along: and when that proved to be you…
Nanami was quickly brought on board, perfect for the role in all ways that mattered: from physical similarities to his character which made the fandom very, very satisfied, to work ethic; his professionalism was always beyond everyone’s expectations, no one has ever complained about him.
Kento was, hands down, a dream to work with—and considering what all of this meant, it was safe to say that Naoya was not happy about it.
”Well, get them to change actors!” He quickly demanded. “Call them and let them know I want the part, should be easy enough considering my status, no?”
”Ah, I— I guess I could but I’ve heard other people tried before and failed… so I don’t want to waste your time if you’re going to face that same result…”
The way how other’s interest in the film is implied behind his words makes Naoya’s eyes widen. Because surely no one cares about participating in that irrelevant series he’s never heard of until now, if it didn’t mean getting to work with you, that is. Everyone’s favorite girl of the moment.
His girl.
Ever the competitive one, it doesn’t take him much longer after that to call who he had to call, bribe who he had to bribe to finally, after many insistences, sign the contract that effectively labels him as your co-star.
Careless if his decision would prove detrimental to the project in the long run, or if it would strain relations between him and Nanami. Naoya never really minded him, outside of being bundled together with some other actors the audience generally cataloged as the most handsome in the country—if this change meant they’d never get to work together, fine! He had obtained a much better reward in return anyways.
Naoya wasn’t to allow anyone to deprive him of what was rightfully his—even if he wasn’t aware of it beforehand—and thus, when the fateful day to start working alongside you finally came along, the moment he’d see you for the first time without the interference of a screen, or through a picture—
His breath ran short. Heart skipping a beat when his eyes fell on your figure: truly, the cameras did you no justice.
You were far more breathtakingly beautiful in person.
So much was his shock, that the smooth introduction he had planned for the moment was limited to a stuttering mess, a shame to someone as charismatic as him.
”You’re—you’re Zen’in—No, I mean, I’m—“ Naoya says, a stranger to the heat forming in his cheeks, inwardly demeaning the weak presentation he must’ve given you now.
But if he wasn't already fixated enough on you, the way you appeared to be indifferent to his nerves completely captivated him. A wide smile on your lips as you greeted him with that same enthusiasm that made the whole world fall to your feet.
”Nice to meet you, Naoya!” You chirp. “I can’t believe we’re working together… I mean, so early in my career! Thank you so much for this opportunity, I promise I won’t disappoint!”
”The pleasure’s all mine.” And so is the curse you’ve seem to have unwittingly placed upon him after sweetly declaring you’d be under his care.
He’s made up his mind, Naoya will make you fall in love with him in less of what it takes to wrap up this movie. He’ll make you his, and will go to any length to ensure so.
Even if it meant ignoring your father’s (your manager, a veteran actor of days past) clear warnings.
”Don’t think I don’t know how your kind works.” Eiichi, your father, threatens Naoya during a short moment of privacy. “And I’m well aware of the rumors that surround you, even if you have your team quiet them. I should’ve known you were up to something the moment you insisted on Nanami’s removal—but I’ll let you know that whatever it is that you have in mind, I won’t allow it.”
”I assure you, Eiichi-san, I have no other intentions with your daughter outside of making our best efforts to have this picture timely done.” Naoya cynically responded, which just made your dad even angrier. Your co-star thinks your manager is an all bark, no bite type of dog. An old dog too, and treats him like such.
“Then surely asking you to act appropriately for once in your life isn’t too much to demand, is it?” He frowns. “Especially for someone who’s barely starting in the genre.”
”Wait—you mean to say—“
If this is your first romance movie, does that mean…
You haven’t done your first on-camera kiss?
Or perhaps even better—you haven’t kissed anyone at all?
Not quite, nor were you ever going to disclose personal matters that truly only belonged to you.
But if your father intended to protect you, he really, really shouldn’t have said that. Eiichi shouldn’t have gone ahead and essentially pushed you further into Naoya’s claws, his words being the last piece of motivation to become completely unhinged and make your time with him… tense, to say the least.
Oh, but how could he not? You were simply too adorable when trying to do your best to fulfill everyone’s expectations: barely putting up a fuss when Naoya got a bit too dramatic to what the script demanded, far more handsy, even when not recording: all for the sake of staying in character, he’d claim.
And when he dejectedly worked on those scenes where nothing of his interest was happening, you didn’t even complain. You kept quiet, submissive, taking the situation as best as you could and kept on working—because that’s what professional actresses do, isn’t it? And you’re nothing but the best.
But things didn’t really escalate until it was time to record that long-awaited kiss; what the script demanded to be the first kiss between their characters, in other words, something sweet, overall a touching scene.
However, Naoya naturally had to blur the line between his work and personal life—and instead of taking this moment as what it was, just two people trying to get the job done, he decided to… mark it as some declaration of feelings.
Confirmation that the time the two had spent together, a few weeks now, had actually amounted to something; aside from figuring out what your soft lips tasted like.
Because to Naoya, those interactions in between breaks, outside of the set, and even during filming, had been quite meaningful to him. To you too, he suspects.
Your shy nature just didn’t allow you to openly affirm it, a little push was all you needed to do so.
”Don’t be nervous, dumpling.” Is the nickname he’d given you upon seeing your excitement for last week's catering. You’ve politely told him it wasn’t necessary to call you that, but he insisted otherwise, calling it their very first inside joke. What everyone does to get along better. “Just follow my lead and I’ll worry about everything else, ok?”
Not exactly the reassuring words you were searching for, but for someone of Naoya’s expertise, alongside the physical hold he had over you at this point, hands over your arms, keeping you close to his chest… it’s not like you could demand otherwise.
And so, after everyone was in position, the director finally signals the scene to begin: Naoya delivers the script with an uncharacteristic perfection, outside of that slight rush behind his words, eager to get to that one particular moment, it’s obvious he’s been looking forward to recording this.
To kiss you, which he abruptly does by suddenly moving his face towards yours and then, captivating your lips onto his—giving more than his interpretation of the character’s desire: it was him wanting to take in your scent, warmth, touch, everything, and bask in it.
Claim it as his own, for those in the room, and the world in due time, to see.
One might’ve even assumed you were fine with his intentions too, given how you didn’t complain nor fight back against his desperate gesture, struggling to follow his lead in a way that appeared he was trying to eat you alive.
Which thankfully didn’t happen once the director cut the scene, and just before you ran out of breath.
”Naoya, while I appreciate the enthusiasm, that was—a bit too much.” The director said; if he was aware of your and Naoya’s fluster, he didn’t comment. “Let’s do it again, from the top.”
Normally, Naoya would’ve retorted at what he considered unnecessary reshooting, apparently his time was far more valuable than the rest even when he was being paid millions to be there… but this time around, he was nothing but obliging, in fact, Naoya even suggested that they’d go at it once more just to be sure they captured the right sentiment. Fulfill his desire.
With each time becoming more and more desperate than the other.
Naoya frequently claimed himself to be immune to any kind of addiction, thought of it as weak for the character, above such “petty” faults—But when it came to you… he just proved to be as human as the rest.
He physically needed to have all of you; they’d have to forcibly pry him away to stop—
Or for you to do so, swiftly placing your hands over his chest and pushing him away when it became too much, putting an end to the scene before the director could and subsequently raising many eyebrows around you.
”What’s wrong, Y/N?” The director asks upon seeing your distraught face—exhausted from the many reshoots, and of course, Naoya’s overbearing ways. “Is everything alright?”
”Ye-yeah, I just… I’m sorry, I think I need a break.” You silently plead, looking over to your manager who was more than ready to step in if your request was dismissed; which thankfully, wasn’t. The director sighing before turning around and stating:
”Alright everyone, take 5.”
The perfect opportunity for Naoya to follow through with his so-called affirmation of feelings, trailing behind you soon after.
“Hey, dumpling, wait up! There’s something I need to—“
”Not right now, Naoya.” You respond, your pace unwavering. You didn’t even turn to face him. “I have to—be alone for a moment.”
”Y/N—“
Your father and sister, manager and assistant respectively, close in on you and break eye contact between the two, allowing you retreat into what he assumed your dressing room—
And leaving him behind to deal with his anger, which he immediately takes out on the director, stomping his way to him and giving him a piece of his mind.
“So you’re just going to let her go?” Naoya hisses, the man, having worked with him on previous occasions, simply sighs.
”What do you want me to do, Naoya? You saw how she ran away.” He responds. “Besides, we’ve been at it all day, I’m tired too.”
”This is just going to ruin the pace of the film, you know that, right? You should, considering your… experience.”
”Look, Naoya— it’s quite obvious what you were trying to do back there, I’ve seen it before; but we’re not going to discuss that.” He adds. “The girl is new in the game, naive, and overprotected. Did you know that her management sent us a long list of requisites after the studio offered her a contract? If it weren’t for her family, she would’ve been immediately dismissed.”
”Requisites? What kind of requisites?”
“None that I can discuss with you, but I guess I could tell you the obvious: you were not part of them. There’s a reason why Nanami was firmly set for your role, but guess that doesn’t matter since you know your way around these things…”
”Is there something else you’re hiding from me? Why bring it up if you’re not going to tell me anyways!” Naoya growls. Why was Nanami brought up again, out of nowhere??
”Just take 5 minutes, Naoya. Clear up your head, we still have a long day ahead.” The director insists. “And if it’s worth anything, Y/N will be back, she’s very dedicated to her work, I’ll give her that. Even with your weird… plays, I’m sure.”
But that wasn’t enough to calm Naoya—not with the way you essentially fled from him.
Your behavior led a part of him to feel… inadequate. Underperforming—stupid.
Rejected.
And he’s never been rejected before.
A dangerous observation to make considering his easily ignited attitude.
The moment you were back, he’d demand an answer. Hear, directly from you, why you’d cruelly dismiss his advances when he had been nothing but nice to you.
… but that moment wouldn’t come today.
In fact, not even in the subsequent ones, for after everyone was abruptly requested to go home, the studio announced that filming would go on a brief hiatus to sort out some… unexpected issues—which Naoya immediately connected to you given your radio silence.
Forcing him to directly reach out to you… but you’d never answer. In fact, all of his attempts were swiftly ignored; your team didn’t even acknowledge them! As if dealing with junk mail.
Naoya’s desperation naturally spiked after that, frantically searching for an answer—
Which he’d get soon enough, but only through a tabloid which probably described the worst case scenario he could’ve imagined unfolding for this situation:
“Y/N to abandon latest project—close sources blame differences between protagonists.”
Naoya’s heart sinks.
Also, I wish to apologize if these little comma things “ appear weird? Like not the right ones at the beginning? I’m currently out of my home so all of my writing is being done through a tablet lol I’ll come back later to fix them :> I hope it didn’t ruin your reading experience :’v
And I might as well comment I didn’t feel like ending part one with just the headline, but at the same time the whole naoya’s heart skins doesn’t completely convince me…. But I don’t know, might be my impostor’s syndrome or something who knows!!!! All that I know is I have to make Naoya pathetic on the second part, so if anyone has any ideas of what you’d like to see send them in hehe I want to make him suffer :) or at least guilty, damn…
Anyways, I hope it was to your liking!! I shall proceed with the following part after I write down a little smut hehe. Thank you so much for sending in this ask, take care and hope to see you soon!!!

Chapter 3: My Eyes Are Up Here
The first day of shooting the film finally came and went. We had spent most of that afternoon figuring out what every character's wardrobe would be like and making sure everything on set looked good on camera. If any furniture needed to be moved, we moved it. Paintings were taken down or added, blinds were closed or left open, overrall it felt like the first day was about preperation. While I had thought we'd get at least some filming done on the first day, it actually worked out well. It gave Ted an entire day to go over the script with Tanner, and Joe the entire day to play the role of my father, demanding I stay away from bad boy Ted. I mean that sarcastically. Mostly sarcastically.
The plot of the film is almost similar to our real lives: We're supposed to be a bunch of adults out of college trying to hold on to our youth while spending their last summer together at some...summer house. There's a few extras that are meant to be playing our friends, but the main focus is on the relationship of Ted and I; our characters, I mean. At the end of the first day, everyone part of the film crew leave to sleep at their own accommodations except 5 of us. Ted, Myself, Tanner, Joe and another member of the editing team, though I don't learn his name tonight as he spends the entirety of it in his assigned bedroom. Joe had offered to get me a separate Airbnb when he realized I was the only one staying here that didn't identify as a guy, but I'm not uncomfortable with these arrangements. I have a lock for my assigned bedroom if need be, but I have no reason to distrust anyone else that will be spending the next 3 weeks living here.
The first night passes with no problems from anybody, except from Ted. He started knocking on my wall around 12am. Took a good couple minutes and a quick Google search to realize the fuckass was knocking 'cunt' in Morse code. He stopped shortly after I messaged him a picture of my middle finger being held up at the same wall.
The next morning i'm involved in a few scenes with some of the extras first so I can get a real feel for being on camera in this light, which also gives Ted time to read over the script in another room. In the film, my name is supposed to be Kara, and he's Mason. Tanner picked simple names. Ted looks like he could be named 'Mason'. The scenes go by fairly quickly, doing the necessary repeats to get multiple takes and angles, standard procedure when filming. I find myself to be quite a natural at this sort of thing. Other than the occasional stammer, I'm able to speak my lines and act the part with little to no difficulty. No bloopers just yet.
Next thing I know, morning turns into noon and we're having to move outside to take advantage of the last bit of full sunshine we'll have for the day, including Ted, who will finally be joining me in front of the camera. Like Ted had explained yesterday, we'd been filming a lot of the scenes out of order, this one included. At this point in the story, several days have passed, and our characters have already shared their first kiss, so our chemistry needs to be on point to make it believable. We need to act like there are some real, lingering feelings for one another while keeping it subtle. It was actually challenges like this that made me agree to take the leading lady role. I could've easily been one of the extras and only have a page or two to read off of, but I wanted to explore true acting, not just pretending.
I can't say I'm inherently a romantic. I'm certainly intrigued by how romance in film was handled decade's ago compared to now and I'd absolutely invest myself into a romantic comedy of the 90's or 2000's if one was turned on in front of me, but I didn't sign up for this to play pretend with a handsome guy. I want to explore the trials and tribulations of this cheesy kind of storytelling I'm a sucker for. I want to see if I'm capable of bringing chemistry into one scene, then slipping it into my pocket for the next as if it were never out there.
My thoughts are cut by Tanner and Ted meeting me and the rest of the crew outside, with the script still in Ted's hand. He's still in the white t-shirt they fitted him with yesterday, changing his slacks into some dark blue jeans. He looked pretty good in jeans.
"Okay, so we wanna get some establishing shots.." Tanner explained to us, Ted moving to come stand beside me. "We're gonna get some of the extras to toss around a football and sort of...run around, get some shots of them playing. You two are gonna go stand over by that post and just...talk..." He pauses on that last word, as if to really emphasize it. "Just talk?" Ted repeats, raising both of his brows with a smile. "I don't like the way you hesitated there, my good man."
"No, I mean--"
"I feel like you're trying to imply something, good sir."
"Yeah, Tanner. He can talk to the 'pretty lady'." I pitch in with a knowing smirk, getting a look from Ted. "We won't need an intimacy coach just yet."
"No, I get it.." Tanner chuckles slightly. "What I was trying to say is now might be a good time to talk about what your 'tell' is going to be, if you can't think of anything to talk about."
I furrow my brows in confusion, silently looking to Ted for an idea of what that is. He looks equally confused. "Our 'tell'?" I ask.
"Yeah, for when you have to kiss." Tanner replies, pointing at Ted and I. "We can't just count down from three and shout at you. It has to feel natural, so if you have a tell, a non-verbal way of signaling that one of you is going in for it, it makes it...realistic and saves up some time."
I suppose the way Tanner explained it make sense. It makes me think back on a moment in Stranger Things. There's a scene at the end of Season 2 where everyone's dancing, and you can just barely see Finn Wolfhard's mouth move before he goes in for a kiss. He had mouthed 'I'm coming in' or something like that to Millie and it's noticable in the final shot they went with. Tanner wanting to avoid that is completely valid.
"OK. No problem." Ted was the first to agree with a casual shrug, turning to look at me. I give a quiet little nod in return. "Where should we go stand?"
"Just over there would be perfect." Tanner pointed over by the large empty flagpole in the distance, a bit farther away from the rest of the extras. "I'll just be a little more to the left with the film crew, I'll give you a. O.K. signal just before we start filming so you know when to start and I'll shout 'cut' when we're done."
"Sounds good to me. Let's go." Ted beckoned me to follow, heading towards the flagpole.
I'm walking somewhat behind Ted, blushing a little to myself as I take in just how much taller he is than me. He's definitely at least a foot taller, maybe more. I'm only noticing it now. I wonder how tall he is?
"It's 6."
I stop walking for about a second, almost wondering if Ted had somehow read my mind. "What?"
"It's 6 kisses. I counted."
"O-Oh." I giggle a little to myself, crossing my arms over each other to rub them with my hands. "You counted them? Did you even read the script?"
"Better than you did! How do you over count kissing?"
"I counted 7!"
"You added one in, you fuckhead."
"Why the fuck would I add one in? What, you think I was enticing you with an extra kiss, asshole?!" I move up a bit to stand beside him as we walk, just so I can playfully nudge his arm. "I counted 7!"
"You fucking wish, princess."
"Ooghh, you fucking wiiiish!..." I start to mock Ted's strong voice again. "You're projecting. Maybe you under-counted."
"How about you under-count how cute you think you are, huh?" Ted snickered to himself, nudging me back a little harder. "We're supposed to want to smooch it up more once we get to this pole, I need to be able to stay in character."
"That sounds like a you problem. I can stay in character, even with your headass."
"I am going to stick you up on that fucking flagpole, princess. One more."
"Stick--" I pause and close my mouth, resisting the urge to burst out laughing. "Stick deez nuts down your throat."
Ted and I erupt into laughter, almost getting a little hysterical. I leaned forward and hugged my stomach while Ted flung his head back. I'm sure at least some of the others could hear us, our laughter was practically echoing out. We knew we had to come down from our laughing fit when we reached the flagpole, letting out a few more cackles and giggles. I lean back against the large flagpole, it's wide enough for me to push all my weight on it without shifting one way or another. From here, we can see that Tanner was still talking to the film crew as they mess with their large cameras. I'm having to squint and raise my hand up to cover them from the sun's bright, harsh rays, though I smile to myself. I'm glad I agreed to help with this.
"How much longer, do you think?" I ask Ted, watching as Tanner moved over to a different cameraman. Before Ted can answer me, I see Tanner turn to us and raise his arm up high. I can just barely make out the O.K. symbol he's doing with his hand. Next thing I know, the sun's rays are no longer over me. Did some clouds move over it, or...?
I turn my body, only to stiffen it up against the flagpole, almost like I'm trying to push my body into it. Ted is now completely towering over me, only being held up by his forearm resting above my head against the pole. He's crossed his legs somewhat, so if he were to remove his arm, all of his weight would come crashing down on me. "You feelin' alright there, (Y/N)?" Ted's grinning like an absolute winner, keeping his dark brown eyes on me as he removes his round glasses and rests them atop his head. I feel like his eyes could be replaced with the red laser of a sniper, and I'd be just as tense.
"Wh-Why are you--"
"Ohhh, nothing sassy to say now, eh? Where's more deez nuts jokes, hm? Where's being an annoying little cunt?"
Before I can create a coherent response, I feel another one of his hands move closer to me. Ted rests his hand right on my forehead. "You're burnin' up, princess. Did you pack some sunscreen? Gettin' real red over here.."
Something about the way he's bullying me is making my stomach twist. His tone, his words, his smile....
I try to turn my head away to get his hand off my forehead. It works, but his hand moved down to the side of my chin, gently pushing it to the side to make me face him once more.
"My eyes are up here, baby."
I glare daggers right back at him. I can't tell if he's actually flirting or if he's just fucking with me 'cause of yesterday. Both are plausible.
"Y'know this isn't helping your case." I collect my composure enough to speak plainly.
"What case?" He asks with a snicker.
"The case where you don't think I'm a pretty lady."
"I don't. Tanner said I need to act like I'm into you, so I'm acting like I'm into you."
"You're a terrible actor."
"I act for a living."
"You make YouTube videos for a living."
"Well, I'm good at pretending to like you, so.."
Ted's earthy orbs linger on me as he removes his hand from my chin. I'm not sure what I'm feeling at this moment. Is it embarrassment? Is it uncomfortable? Am I...intrigued? Interested, even? The way he speaks to me, it's just...
"Sh-Shouldn't we be discussing what our tell is going to be?"
"St-St-St-Stammerin' up a storm over here.." Ted mocks my stutter, his confident grin becoming even more annoying to me.
"You're not funny.." As the words leave me, I realize I've been smiling a little at him.
"What, and you are?"
"I mean it! I--"
"Woww, you wake up on the wrong side of the bed, princess? All that knockin' bothered you?"
"I'm gonna knock you into this fucking pole if you don't shush. I meant about the tell." A chuckle escapes me. "He's gonna want to know what we've come up with. Any ideas?"
Ted let's out a gentle sigh, finally pulling back to stand beside me against the pole instead. I feel like I can breathe properly again. "It's gotta be subtle, yeah?" Ted asks, crossing his arms. "I believe the term Tanner used was 'non-verbal', but yes." I cackle a little. Tanner has a certain way of speaking that's rather amusing. He's one of those friends that are naturally funny, whether he's intending to be or not. "Something that, if picked up on camera, would make sense in the moment.."
"Like a wink?" Ted asks. I turn my head to him, watching as he gives the most non-subtle wink I'd ever seen a man give me. A chuckle leaves me. "More subtle...like..." Thoughts about how the kissing scenes are shot wander through my mind, where the camera may be at any given moment, whether or not there will be a close up. It needs to be as non-verbal as possible; the most subtle way a person can signal to another that they want to kiss them.
"...Like...a quick look at the lips."
"Like a quick little one-two?" Ted asks, moving his eyes from my lips to my eyes to give me a physical demonstration.
"Yeah. I'm sure people do that when they're about to kiss someone."
"You're 'sure'?" Ted's smile drops, his change in expression suggesting he's nervous. "Oh man, don't tell me I'm about to be your first kiss.."
"Oh fuck you! I've had my first kiss! I'm in my 20's!" I laugh at him, watching as he let's out a sigh of relief. "I've had several kisses with several other boys, thanks!"
"Wowww, okay, first of all, kissin' the bro's is different." Ted points his finger at me, trying to appear serious with his lips tucked in a bit. "Second of all, boys? I'll have you know you'll be kissing a MAN, (Y/N). A fully grown 26 year old man!"
"What happened to the 'man' that was supposed to put me up on the flagpole, hm?"
"I basically already did, and you turned into a tomato."
"My feet didn't even leave the ground."
"Were you expecting me to pick you up? Cause I can do that!"
"Oh please, looks like the heaviest thing you ever carried was a Tuba."
"Okay, fuck you, I was in theater, but I can throw a mean ball and could absolutely carry you."
"You think so?"
"Absolutely."
"Try it."
Ted raises a curious brow at me and turns his body towards me once more. For a moment, I thought I saw his eyes wander downward, but our moment is interrupted by a shout, though it's not from Tanner. Right before my eyes, like time moved way faster than I was ready for, Ted had moved around me to stand in front of me to catch a fast-moving football. His back was close to me, in fact, this was the closest he's been to me so far. Though for only a brief moment, I could feel his white shirt slightly caress the tip of my nose as the wind blew. He smelled like...pine trees.
"Dude!" Ted shouted at the extras as he threw the football back. He may not have been a jock in high school, but his form was pretty good.
His. His football form. Y'know, like, not--not his--
I think that football would've hit me if Ted hadn't reacted as fast as he did.
"Jesus..." Ted huffed before turning to me again. He noticed how tense I had gotten, reaching to touch my arm. "I'm sorry, I didn't back up into you, did I? You alright?"
"I-I'm alright.." I managed to mutter back. It was odd hearing his voice sound so concerned for me. Up until now, most if not all of our interactions had been full of sarcastic, tyrannical but overall light-hearted jabs at each other, but in this very moment, I realized we may have unintentionally developed something here. I'm not saying it's necessarily romantic, but...there's a tension building up between us. It's not just in my head, is it? Does he feel it too? Is that why he's?...
"That...works too." Tanner catches up with us, alongside the man that had thrown the football. I didn't even realize they had been approaching us.
"What, did you plan that?" Ted turns to Tanner, sounding quite frustrated with him. "That could've hit her."
"Dude, I'm so sorry, I messed up my throw..." The man next to Tanner spoke with a genuine frown. "I-I meant to throw it higher up and hit the pole, the sun blocked my view. It's my fault."
"No, I told Dan to throw it, I'm sorry." Tanner speaks up as well, his hands resting on his hips nonchalantly. "I've been shouting at you two for, like, a good minute. I thought it would've been funny if Dan hit the pole.."
Ted and I are silent. Oh fuck. How long have they been trying to get our attention? How did we not hear them? I can tell Ted still isn't satisfied with the answer. Angry wasn't a good look for him, I don't think it's a good look for anyone.
"We need to buy you a whistle.." I manage to get out a joke, smiling to show everyone that I wasn't upset. I knew Tanner hadn't meant for anyone to get hurt. He probably trusted this 'Dan' to make the shot. Tanner wouldn't hurt a fly. He /would/ hurt a spider, though. He hates those things. "Yeah. Clearly." Tanner chuckles slightly, slipping his hands into his shorts pockets. "I'm really sorry."
"I'm okay, Tanner. Teddy's got me." I move away from the flagpole to place my arm on Ted's shoulder, leaning against it somewhat. I think my attempts at showing him I was OK finally worked, watching as he looks down at me with a friendly scoff. "I should've let it smack you in your stupid face." He remarks, finally bringing some of the tension from that altercation down. "Maybe, but at least I believe you now." I smile at Ted, moving my hand off his shoulder. Dan apologizes one last time before moving to rejoin the extras. Tanner let's us know that we'll be moving back inside to check on the shots before returning to the cameramen to help pack up. Ted and I start walking back to the house, though he pauses for a moment.
"What do you mean you 'believe me now'?" He asks, furrowing his brows while smiling. "Believe what?"
I give him a cutsey smile and reply simply.
"That you could carry me."
I walk a bit ahead of him, feeling the weight of my cheeks from how wide I'm smiling to myself. I hear a quiet scoff from Ted, though the rest of the walk is quiet.
After a few minutes of packing up and walking, we all return inside to look over the footage and set up for other scenes the extras will be filming. Now is the time we let Tanner know that we've figured out what our 'tell' is going to be. I look over at Joseph in the meantime, who's across the living room helping an extra with adjusting their outfit. As Ted explains the idea, Joe shoots me a look, furrowing his brows like I had just disobeyed a direct order. I return the look with a shrug. He's just going to have to deal with it. Tanner absolutely loved the idea, said it would add 'real intimacy' to a scene if he caught it on camera.
I suppose that's it, then. If I'm ever going in for a kiss, I'll look at Ted's lips to let him know.

"I saw in the dark. Two floors below me, two women of the same soul spoke about the fate of the world."
Anyway i decided to combine the text posts with image posts so now uhh have this stupid image at the beginning.
So, today's text post is going to be about a completely unrelated to YIIK's lore bug that for sure will be fixed in later versions but i just want to share it cause it's pretty fun imo. First of all the backstory of how i found about this bug, there's this youtube channel called "Year of Chen Official YouTube" which seems like perfectly normal youtube yiik themed channel except their last 2 video which have no text or voice in them and it's just really long footage of gameplay, so they can either be a paid actor or they just went insane or something and decided to do their last 2 videos like that.
The first of these 2 videos ("YIIK 2022 05 17 18 29 21 BIT?") is nearly 30 minutes long and most of these is either just main menu or Alex falling into the void, the most interesting part of this video is author acitvating some weird bug or something and getting the background of Factory Hotel room to be blue and also enemies that weren't there before spawning, fighting them and then running/winning results in Alex falling in endless void. And uh, the bug is real! Btw before i talk about the bug i want to note how the video's description is encrypted and upon translation says:"I am uncertain But my mind is telling me We must BACK IN TIME https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8au3gdSu8Y" with the link redirecting you to a link only Zelda video about back in time glitch, this video link makes me somewhat believe that if at least not the bug itself but this video description could be somehow a hint by the devs. Anyway back to the bug, first of all you need to go back to Factory Hotel after visiting it for the first time, which you can do after getting key from Mancer's gate.Specifically you need to get to this room:
Then after going to the Fire Escape room and going through windows you need to get to this window:
Enter it and then comes to most important part. In this place there is a water fountain, currently there is a bug where if you interact with a water fountain and then press exit button youwill then be able to walk while still being in exit menu.
After that in this state go back to the window with ladder and interact with it, while having NO as chosen option.
It will result in game freezing for a bit after you climb the ladder aaaand
You bugged the game! The most notable effect of this is the blue fog appearing on background, however there are also few more effects of this bug i managed to notice: 1.All monsters in this room will respawn, including even one that aren't supposed to spawn there yet. 2. The lever and the barrier it turns off will be reset to default. 3.All sound will be echoed like in the fire escape room. And the main, fourth one is that making game re load you into this room you will instead spawn back in the fire escape room falling endlessly in the void, from which you can't escape except closing the game.
This can be achieved by 3 ways: fighting a monster and then running away or winning, saving in such state and then loading this save, entering and exiting mind dungeon. You can easily cancel this state by going to either back to Fire Escape room or using the elevator to any other floor. The coordinates in which you spawn in Fire Escape room seem to be somewhat connected to spawning coordinates in room which you were in before falling in the void, if you go to Mind Dungeon, enter the halls zone, then leave it and leave Mind Dungeon you will still spawn in Fire Escape room, however you will spawn on walkable collider and can escape back.
Uh, that's it. Thanks for reading.

Jonelias week day 6! Setting: time travel // Prompt: Old memories
Elias sends him flowers. Hardly the apology he thinks it is, if this is an apology at all, which Jon can't be sure of. It makes him feel uneasy, not to be able to grasp at any knowledge he wants whenever he needs or craves it. He's been having headaches ever since he woke up in his flat, with very little power left beyond the wisp of compulsion. He wishes he didn't miss it.
He wishes he still had it.
All the same, that wouldn't help with El-- Jonah. He couldn't know him at the end of the world, and he's not sure he could ever know him truly here either. Ever since that first week of looking like a mad man, Jon has tried to be more careful, even if it hasn't yet stopped hurting to see Martin's eyes so soft and yet so young, so unaware of everything they've had and that was destroyed, or Tim's growing wariness that isn't quite genuine dislike yet.
Not!Sasha is not worth talking about; Jon merely wishes he was powerful enough to destroy it all over again.
And Elias -- Jonah --... Well, Jon was under the assumption that he was avoiding him. And now, after weeks of brief conversations by emails -- only ever work related, the way they'd... God, the way they'd never been... before... Jon gets this.
Flowers.
"Do you think this won't make me want to kill you a second time any less?" Jon asks out loud in his flat, staring at his own eyes in the mirror. He could swear that for a brief moment they turn grey but he blinks and nothing but silence answers him. He presses his lips together, and tells himself it doesn't sting.
Jonah has to remember. He has to, because Jon remembers his face, that first week, when their eyes had first crossed. A mixture of awe, and pride, and fear. Gone in a heartbeat, of course, but Jon had seen it, he had, and it means Jonah has to remember. How, when Martin doesn't? How, when he was dead? It doesn't even matter to Jon anymore. He only wants -- he only needs --
He puts the flowers into an old vase inherited by his grandmother, waits for almost an hour and then, at last, he gives in, and calls Elias.
"Dekker only knew how to emprison the Not!Them, but surely there's a way to kill it without merely knowing it to death?" he asks without preambule the moment the call connects.
"Pardon?" Elias says, with the perfect tone of mild confusion that would put most actors to shame, and Jon glowers at the phone.
"Don't do that," he snaps despite himself. "You sent me flowers, you asshole."
"A gesture of good will," Elias tells him. "You've been rather tense ever since you came back to work --"
"I can't do this," Jon cuts him off, staring off at the vase. "I'm not going to do this. You want to hear it? Fine. I won't try to kill you again. Does that make you feel better? And no, I don't accept flowers as an adequate sorry for ruining your life and the world for my own very brief gain and enjoyment, but for god's sake, I need something -- someone -- to be real with me. Right now. Just. Be real with me, Jonah. Please."
"You understand your volatile mood is exactly the reason I can't trust that you won't try to kill me again, don't you?" Jonah asks, and Jon lets out a shaky breath of relief, shamefully realizing his eyes are filling with tears. "Or, god forbid, succeed at it once more."
"You haven't made me a complete monster yet, here," Jon manages to say.
"And yet at times I feel foolish enough to want to bring you right back to godhood all the same," Jonah sighs. "If only for how magnificent you were, at the end."
"Shut up," Jon mutters.
"I thought you wanted us to talk properly." It's like Jon can hear his smile, on the other end of London, and it shouldn't feel good, it shouldn't, but -- "Let's have lunch," Jonah offers. "Get reacquainted with one another. How does that sound, Jon?"
#i have to be honest i'm NOT a big fan of time travel#but ah well here is one all the same#the magnus archives#tma stories#joneliasweek2024

I did a analysis on Jesse. Or.. I'm trying to. But there are... a lot of variables. But. While I was working on that, I found some differences in the Jesse's designs. And... I just wanted to write this down to start working on analyzing Jesse some more. So... analyzing clothes! Yay
I thought it was fun. And... entertaining. (But in case you can't read it all, I have a summary prepared at the very bottom)
Enjoy!
So- the Jesse's all look like the same height(except yellow clip Jesse. I'll tell you all why, later). And something fun I found out is that, while all the m!jesses jaws don't move, the f!jesses jaws do move. And it's different for every other character apperantly?(I'm not sure though. Don't have the time to go through an entire episode to make sure of this fact. Sorry.)
Okay. So if you look at these photos
You can see the difference of their jaw(chin? Is it chin?)s.
And now
The actual clothing analysis
Yeah- so... we know they have different shirt designs. Red suspenders(? I think that's the name) Jesse has a... button. You can also see more of his skin around the neck. Green suspenders doesn't seem to have buttons, but has a design that... looks like it would have buttons on that middle part. Yellow suspenders has two stripes on each arms, the color connecting around the neck. All male Jesse's have long sleeves.
Yellow clip has a red sleeve shirt with the color connecting only around the neck. Red clip has the turquoise color down to her.... I think somewhere around her chest. And blue(navy?) clip has a yellow stripe shirt. All female Jesse's have short sleeves.
They also have different eye colors.
Green for the red suspenders and yellow clip. Dark brown(?) for green suspenders and red clip. And black for yellow suspenders and blue clip.
And the color of their overalls are all different.
Now. This is the more... uhmm... not easily seen part(I think)
Let's start with yellow clip Jesse.
Her jeans are rolled up higher than the rest. (The folds are small though) You can see her skin at the bottom. We can't see her socks.(or maybe those are her socks? It looks a bit darker than her skin tone... I'm still debating on that) And her shoes seem to have a... higher topline(?) than all the other Jesse's shoes. And guess what. If you look closely, she has a darker color at the bottom of her shoes. (That one extra brown line)
I think. It is so that she looks taller. (Insoles? I think they're called?) To look the same height as the rest. (Considering that mcsm has a 'behind the scenes' and in the Netflix version, they literally.. y'know. Petra comes up and asks us to choose. Then she does a quick explanation. Stuff like that. Maybe.... just maybe- this "actor" of Jesse was shorter than the rest.) (Just having some fun during this long boring writing.)(I'm sorry if you're getting bored of this. We still have lots more to read! 😃)
Next we have red clip Jesse!
So.. this one has the jeans rolled up just above her ankles. And the fold is small. Can't see her skin, has black socks on. Also!! Red clip Jesse and blue clip Jesse has the same color highlights in their hair as their hair clips! (Well... at least to me. But if it is. That's pretty cool. Right?)
Alr. Speaking of which...
Next is blue clip Jesse!
Her jeans are rolled up higher than red clip Jesse. But lower than yellow clip Jesse(like.. you can barely see the difference in that photo but.. it is. ..probably). So-you can see her skin. And she either has black socks on with black shoes. Or they're like... boots.
Now. Time for the male Jesse's.
Starting off with red suspenders
He is the only one with the jeans all the way down to his ankles. And yet! He has the biggest folds. Either that's part of the design in his clothes, or the suspenders are too long/big for him.
Green suspenders
Uh.. actually... his jeans are done the same way as red clip Jesse's. Even the socks are black.
And finally, yellow suspenders!
He has the same jean roll-ups as blue clip. But he doesn't have any socks visible to us. Nor does it look like he has high a topline.
I know. Not much for the male Jesse's. But it's true! I worked hard to find out about these small details. And there isn't much to say about them. Unless I try and go look for the exact names and designs for their shirts. So.. I'm sorry for that.
But thank you for reading it this far! It probably would've been a waste of your time but- I have a summary prepared. In case you don't want to read the long paragraphs, or had trouble understanding what I meant.
Summary
What the different genders have in common to eachother
F!jesse
Has moving jaw/chin.
Short sleeves.
M!jesse
Does not have moving jaw/chin.
Long sleeves
Yellow clip Jesse
Jeans are rolled up higher than everyone else.
Small folds
Either wearing socks, or it's her skin. (The color is a bit.. confusing)
The shoe has a high topline.
Cross the fourth one. It's not a high topline. She has high soles.(outsoles? Insoles?)(aka. She's probably a shorter "actor" than all the other Jesse's)
Can see her skin
Red clip Jesse
Her hair is highlighted in red
Jeans are rolled up just above the ankles.
Small folds
We can see that she has black socks on
Top line of the shoe is low
Blue clip Jesse
Her hair highlights are done in blue
Jeans are rolled up higher than red clip Jesse. But lower than yellow clip Jesse.
Small folds
Either the shoes have a high top line(maybe boots?) or she is wearing black socks
Can see her skin
Red suspenders Jesse
Jeans go down to his ankles.
The only one with big folds actually. (But he still has his jeans reaching his ankles. Which could be seen as... a design of his clothes. Or his jeans are too big for him)
Low shoe top line
Can't see his socks
Green suspenders Jesse
Jeans rolled down just before ankles(like red clip Jesse)
Small folds
Black socks
Low shoe top line
Yellow suspenders Jesse
Jeans are rolled up above ankles. But higher than green suspenders. Lower than yellow clip Jesse(like blue clip Jesse)
Small folds
Can't see his socks
Skin visible
And that! Is all. Thank you
(Well- that was dramatic..)

Fellowship of Fans have released their take on The One Ring Net's article last week about those major "Rings of Power" season 2 leaks. Was curious if they would and glad they did as it's interesting to hear what FOF has heard too. They actually confirmed some of these they have also heard and they've also debunked a few too, but there are a few they don't know about so could be possible as the show did keep a few things secret for s1. Again we won't know if any of these are true, including what FOF has said, till s2 finally airs later this year. But will say they also included more about Charlie Vickers' screen time in s2 and it's good news as I know some of us were worried about it, and they're suggesting something we wanted to happen actually is. I'll break down their take between what they've also heard and what they've debunked and/or haven't heard at all.
ETA April 2024: A lot of these spoilers have been confirmed as false now including some that were leaked on purpose from Amazon to catch the leakers.
Confirmed:
The first major thing is it is possible Amazon got the ok from the Tolkien estate to use some of "The Silmarillion" to explain Sauron's backstory. This likely is mostly the use of names like Mairon, Mirthrander for Gandalf, Melkor/Morgoth, and show the Valar and Maiar.
There are flashbacks telling Sauron/Mairon's story but they haven't heard anything about what this leak said with the details. Possible the Valar and Maiar are shown on-screen in the opening, similar to Galadriel's opening in s1.
Sauron is in every episode.
Charlie Vickers filmed almost all the flashbacks and FOF seems to suggest that the Halbrand form is the human-like form of Mairon. Like above we might see what Mairon actually looked like fully as Maiar and Charlie is playing him. There likely is a flashback to his time with Adar, as Adar know Gavi Singh Chera's version, that Charlie won't be in but sounds like Gavi is mostly being used only as the Annatar version.
The 3rd actor playing Sauron very well could be Calam Lynch. They have also heard that Sauron will pretend to be Celeborn when he goes back to Eregion too, as well as shifting into Annatar when needed, but will pretend to be Galadriel's husband. They haven't posted this scoop though yet as they were waiting to get more confirmation but it is possible this is correct.
Is possible The Stranger being Gandalf/Mithrander will be revealed in the flashbacks with Charlie's Mairon/Sauron.
Sauron does use his connection to Aule to convince the dwarves to his side.
Tom Bombadil and Goldberry likely will appear.
The One Ring likely is getting made in the finale and Galadriel might make a huge choice for the cliffhanger for s3.
Debunked:
There are no bottle episodes.
Shadowfax will not appear.
Amelia Kenworthy is not playing Celebrian and there is no evil Celebrian, but Amelia's unnamed character is a villain.
That thing about the same actors playing Morgoth and Ungoliant playing Tom Bombadil and Goldberry is false, and they are not the same characters.
While the Valar and Maiar might be shown in the s2 premiere it's not what this leak described.
Things they haven't heard at all:
That Sauron has a son. That was the first time they ever heard this and they think it's false. However they aren't ruling out anything as again s1 did have leaks come out this exact same way and like they said TORT has the right to post these if they want. Will point out too TORT has doubled down on all these leaks, including this one about Sauron's son and that Adar killed him. I posted my other posts how this makes sense and I kind of do want this to happen, so if it doesn't I might write a fic about it as it weirdly works. LOL
So again we'll know for sure once season 2 airs which of these leaks/scoops were true. But again I'm really happy that it seems like Charlie is playing Mairon after all as so many of us thought he should.

I think there's something fascinating about the evolution of Darla as a character in the Buffyverse.
It's very common in the Buffy fandom to talk about the show almost as if it were fully planned out from the beginning or somehow emerged fully-formed one day in its entirety. To analyze Season 1 episodes as if the writers had already decided on the Heart/Mind/Spirit symbolism of the core Scooby Gang; to act as though a Season 5 retcon means that Spike was really in love with Buffy as early as Season 3's Lovers Walk; to suggest the constant changes in how the show deals with soul lore or vampires as a metaphor must mean that Giles and the Council were 'really' lying or ignorant in the first few seasons; to wonder what the Watchers Council introduced in Season 3 were doing in the show's first two seasons; to insist you can't really understand Season 1 until you've finished Season 7.
And, look, I totally get the temptation to do that sort of thing. It's unavoidable if you want to talk about the universe of the show as a real thing in its own right, or try to write fanfiction that takes every season seriously. It can be a useful and interesting way of thinking about the show. I've done it myself and will no doubt keep doing it.
But at the same time, it's very misleading if you want to think about the show as a constructed work of collaborative art: as a piece of fiction in constant conversation with itself, shaped and reshaped again and again over years by a team of different people. Which, to be clear, is what it actually is.
The real show is almost a piece of improv or some sort of conjuring act, with the writers and actors constantly juggling with new ideas and twists without any time to worry about how exactly everything fits together. With some episodes reportedly being written in only a handful of days and lore being continually changed and ignored as fits the current demands of the plot. Questions like "how does soul lore really work?" or "after Prophecy Girl who is the real Slayer anyway?" ultimately can't be answered, because there simply is no single truth to uncover. It depends entirely on the current episode.
And I think the ever-changing character of Darla provides the best illustration of that reality.
In the original unaired pilot, Julie Benz plays an unnamed vampire who is nonetheless pretty easy to identify with the Darla we'll see in the show proper. She has no links to Angel or Luke or the Master, because none of these characters even exist yet. Just like in Welcome to the Hellmouth, she lures an unsuspecting victim into the high school after dark before vamping out and killing him, but by the end of the episode she is dead: gruesomely dispatched (or as gruesomely as the pilot's limited special effects budget allowed) after Willow douses her with holy water.
The two parter Welcome to the Hellmouth / The Harvest expands on her role slightly. She has a name now, for one thing. She works for the Master, too, but she doesn't at all seem to be his favorite (she's very much subordinate to Luke in both these episodes), and there's no suggestion that she has any special connection to Angel. (Unsurprisingly, as the show's writers hadn't even decided to make Angel a vampire at this point.) And her ultimate fate at the end of this two-parter is unclear: just as in the pilot, Willow soaks her with holy water, and then she's ... gone? Nobody mentions her again, she's not in scenes with the Master in later episodes which logically she should be. I'm pretty sure that, just like in the pilot, we're meant to assume she's dead.
But then Darla gets her first big break. Angel is, it turns out, a vampire, and he needs some backstory to match. Julie Benz obviously made a decent enough impression in the first couple of episodes, and nothing she did or said quite ruled her out as Angel's sire, and we never quite see her die. So suddenly she's back, now the Master's favorite vampire, attacking Buffy's mother in her own home and sowing the seeds of mistrust between Buffy and Angel and ... oh, she's dead again. Bummer.
Except then in Season 2 Angel's role expands again -- he's not just Buffy's intermittently seen vampire boyfriend anymore, he's the focus of the whole season and he's going to appear in all but one episode. Of course, he's going to need more backstory (and we're all going to be treated to David Boreanaz's best Irish accent) so ... once again Darla rises from the ashes, albeit this time only in flashbacks. And the Darla we see in Becoming's flashbacks is once again an evolution of the character we last saw in Season 1's Angel. More confident, more complex. A character that it is honestly difficult to reconcile with the take on the character we saw last season, especially the one we swa in the show's first two episodes.
Anyway, Angel gets sent to hell in Season 2, but not before managing to (somehow) act his way into his own spin-off series. And yes, that means more flashbacks, and more Darla, and more retcons about the precise nature of her relationship with the Master, but ultimately it means the writers decide to bring Darla back from the dead at the end of the spin-off's first season (for, depending on exactly you count it, arguably the fourth time, though only the first in-universe). And this iteration of Darla -- both the human Darla we see in the beginning of Angel's second season, and the vampire she becomes again later that season -- is arguably the closest thing there is to a definitive take on the character. This is the Darla people mean when they talk about her on the show. Not the mid-level vampire of Welcome to the Hellmouth or the essentially single episode villain of Season 1's Angel, but the real deal. Darla at her most complicated and rich and alive, a Darla whose history is hopelessly entangled with that of her on-again, off-again lover Angel, a character who provides the driving force for the spin-off show's greatest season. A character who is, I think, one of the most interesting to ever appear on that show.
Then the last few episodes of Season 2 completely drop Darla and all trace of the arc she introduced. When she reappears next season (in just a handful of episodes) it's so that her character can be written out of the show via mystical and impossible-by-the show's-previous-rules pregnancy in order for men to feel sad about it (but not for very long), and afterwards everything generally goes to shit.
But then, that tells you quite a lot about the Buffyverse and its creators as well.

theory #2
Nandor was on the balcony the whole time.
So I'm not going to waste time trying to convince anyone that Nandor Knows. Basically you do or you don't. For me it could go either way. I don't think there's necessarily enough proof in the text that he knows, just that 1. The show writers are clever enough to not actively disprove it (they do this all the time with things, it's something I admire. wwdits loves nothing more than its red herrings) 2. Im 97.3% sure Kayvan Novak was playing Nandor, post The Baron being fried part 2 electric boogaloo, as knowing Guillermo is a vampire - and that he was never coming back after fleeing. Not to get into actor objectives, etc. here, but that doesn't have to be supported by the text or something he's been told to do. As an actor you basically come up with these choices on your own by your own interpretations and what you feel would be the most interesting choice. I know a lot of people who have theories and will point to an actor's choices as proof of something that probably isn't in the text of the scripts themselves and those choices don't really have as much connection to the intent of the author as you might think. Although, I personally find an actor's choices more compelling than what’s in the text, especially if it’s an interesting one that makes for a compelling emotional arc for the character.
tldr; my gut says that Kayvan is playing Nandor like he knows; at least in the last half of this episode. But even if he is, that doesn't necessarily make it canon.
So, moving to the meat of the theory, a small thing that got me thinking is - we don't see (or hear) Nandor for a very long time during Guillermo’s confession. We don't hear him crashing around in the background, comically trying to set up a platter of blood, no insert shots of a camera spying on him while Guillermo’s voice carries over in order to give an extra weight of guilt to the words confessing his betrayal…there’s nothing. Now, again, this isn't proof. I just find it unsettling whenever characters talk about someone and you can't see where the subject of their conversation is, and yet you know that they're close by. It’s such a classic set up for the ‘oh no they were right behind you all along’. (ngl I was certain that Nandor was going to be right behind The Guide the whole time because her blocking put her hiding most of the hall from view and that had my palms itchy with suspicion). Of course tho all these things could have perfectly innocent explanations for them. That's again a big strength of wwdits that gets often overlooked: They know the tropes and either lean so heavily on them to the point of absurdity or more commonly subvert them in some way. Wwdits isn’t a sitcom, it's a satire of a sitcom. They want you to be thinking “where is Nandor?” during this scene, subconsciously, in the back of your mind. Even if it does nothing more than just to fuck with us.
A final third thing that tickled my spidey-sense is that we never see the full balcony after Nandor goes to fetch the drinks. Here is the shot set up right before, during (Nandor’s absence), and after:
Most of the set up here before Nandor leaves is in a wide shot that shows majority of the stairs and balcony. Which makes sense, it’s the best way to fit everyone, including Colin on the left of the stairs and Nadja on the right, into the same shot. But once Nandor walks down the hall that shot is replaced with mid shots and shot-reverse-shots between Guillermo and The Baron. Even at the ‘During’ point, where The Guide is speaking and we get the widest shot of the foyer - we only just barely reach over the middle of the balcony, and by then Guillermo had already confessed.
Right when Nandor comes back tho? We’re back to the wide shots that include the balcony.
Now, the hardest part of such a simple theory was understanding the house layout better in order to know how/if Nandor could get to the balcony from the back of the hallway (and not the front staircase) without being seen, since all we know is that he heads down the hall when he announces he will go get a “carafe of blood”. Logically I thought that he would head to the kitchen.
Which then got me thinking…where the fuck is the kitchen??
Sadly the floor plans released by the set designer aren't actually that helpful in answering this because it shows that kitchen on the first floor, the first door on the right. But we know that the first door on the right isn’t the kitchen due to the pilot and Go Flip Yourself episodes. The pilot shows a smaller, dimly lit area with different fixtures that is probably either a storage area or a restroom. In Go Flip Yourself, we know that the wall would have been taken out in order to extend Guillermo’s alcove into a proper room, which they wouldn’t have done if it was adjacent to the kitchen since they were ment to renovate that area too. Plus there was septic sewage seeping in under his floor which lends more to it being a first story bathroom (also because I don’t think that there is anywhere else to put a bathroom on the fist floor according the floor plans). The other doors on the left are Nandors room and the other room on that side probably leads to the basement since Guillermo exits that way from the cage he was held in season 3. On the other side we have one more door that I have no idea where it goes to but if I had to guess I would think it’s maybe Nadja’s and Laszlo’s room. Then there’s a little adjacent alcove/hallway at the very end. Here we have a lamp, a clock, and either a chair or a giant feather thing on one side. And on the other side there is a blue door.
And I only had to find all that out by rewatching several episodes and freeze-framing multiple times to the point of agony.
Making my best guess as to where the kitchen is: it’s probably at the very, very end of the hallway, past all the bedrooms and main hallway, to the blue door on the right side of the alcove. I figured this by the blue door having a similar door handle and that it opens in from the left instead of the right like all the others on the same floor.
So. The most logical thought is that Nandor went into the kitchen in order to get the drinks, right? But how does this get him to the balcony?
In the Local News episode, Guillermo makes towards down the hall with his dinner but Colin Robinson stops him and tells him not to go that way. Here we see Guillermo put his hand on the left stair banister to indicate that he is going to take the stairs up and head to the dining room on the second floor.
If Guillermo goes to the dining room from upstairs then we can make the leap that the dining room was the intended location to begin with when he was going down the hall. So - there must be a way to do that, right? In the little tag at the end of the episode Guillermo finishes his dinner and goes right instead of left like he did when he was running away from The Baron.
He then takes these little stone stairs to the first floor but right before that we have a small little peak of horizontal subway tile.
Which is the exact subway tile that we see in the kitchen.
So the kitchen connects to the staircase to the second floor in the hallway of the dining room. And, because we have just seen Guillermo run down that same hallway and take a left, crashing into the wooden frame and onto the first floor…
… if Nandor took those same stairs up, went down the hall, past the dining room, and took a left….he would be right on the balcony.
Looking down on Guillermo's confession.
And, since nothing happens in wwdits without being filmed the next question would be: well ok but was it filmed? Because if it wasn’t filmed then it didn’t happen. You can’t have the reveal. Now wwdits doesn’t exactly play fair all the time with its film crew. There’s several times when a shot is impossible by virtue of it supposedly being filmed in real time. And really, that’s just going to happen. You can’t use a lot of film language already with how wwdits is filmed and making sure every shot is in accordance to roughly 4-5 in-universe apparently human people with no reshoots is impossible. But we have been a little bit more trained to think about the film crew this season, what with them actually participating more into what we’re shown - the set up of shots, hearing them ask questions and push Guillermo to talk about his turning with Derek, the crew that followed Guillermo to talk to his mother is actually pointed out to be two people, when his aunt asks them if they're hungry. From that we can also start thinking about how there are probably two people per plot (a plot and b plot), one for camera and another most likely a producer or sound guy. And we know that just about everyone is downstairs in this intervention, with the exception of Laszlo, who is catatonic and easily visible in the library on everyone’s right. So if just about everyone is in one place you would only need two people here. The other two would follow the ‘b’ plot: Nandor. But we don’t see anyone follow him down the hall.
Well, again keeping in mind impossible shots happen all the time, I don’t think it’s a stretch to give a little weight to this shot here:
Right after Guillermo and The Baron part ways and Guillermo opens the door, frying the Baron for the second time, that shot is caught from the balcony, but it would have been ‘impossible’ considering none of the crew were seen going upstairs. Even if they had left with Nadja or Nandor when the camera had turned to close in on the The Baron and Guillermo’s conversation, both of them had gone down the hall on the first floor (most likely to their rooms) while The Guide went across, away from the stairs, probably to the library with Laszlo. So there would have been no reason for them to be upstairs if they were following the vampires like they’re supposed to.
Unless, they were already upstairs to begin with.
Conclusion:
So we have the opportunity and means for both part of the camera crew and Nandor to have been up on the balcony while Guillermo confessed:
A part of the crew, probably stuck upstairs after Guillermo had run away from The Baron, stayed up there for any number of various reasons. Damage to their equipment, resetting equipment, etc. but either way, they’re not necessary to film the gang downstairs since they are all together at the moment.
Nandor, going down the hall, to the very end, and then to the right puts him into the kitchen. From there he either can’t find a platter, cups, blood, becomes curious, who the hell knows, and decides to go upstairs using the tiny stone staircase hidden there. (maybe he is looking for a fancy platter to put the drinks on and they would be all upstairs in the dining room since they were just hosting a party).
Maybe hearing his name or anything else to spark his curiosity he walks down the hall and towards the balcony that Guillermo was just running down a few minutes earlier. There he watches Guillermo talk about being turned by Derek.
The other half of the crew that were left upstairs get lucky enough to catch it on tape and then lucky again to get a perfect shot of The Baron being fried for a second time when that happens later.
Nandor returns to the group with his platter of drinks, knowing that Guillermo went behind his back to be turned by Derek. No one but the crew knows he was ever up there.
And that is how (I think) Nandor was on the balcony the whole time.

Love Sea Thoughts
So, after watching episode 3, my brain is full. I have a lot of questions and a lot of thoughts. I'm going to try to organize them here. If this comes out a jumbled mess, please forgive me.
Let me preface by saying I love love love FortPeat. I think they are both talented in their own rights. I absolutely adore what they gave us with PrapaiSky. I adore them together, I think their chemistry is amazing.
As with any piece of anything, but especially media, there are going to be flaws and things we like and dislike. Differing opinions, views, feelings, experiences, and interpretations. But that's not what this is about at all. I do feel like the first two episodes, something felt off for me and I thought it was the pacing. I believe that's a small part of it. (I also believe that this might be another one of those shows where the plot is lacking, unless I have sorely missed something, and our actors are doing the heavy lifting.) I think a lot of the time we don't always get a grounded plot, more like a genre and a few tropes and that's kind of what we have to work with. Romance, 'hate'-to-love, and the couple just kind of getting together. Which is fine, but it can cause things to seem off in some areas.
Anyways, after watching ep 3, I feel that things are supposed to seem fast? It's supposed to be a simple, one-off, whirlwind vacation romance. They barely know each other. Tongrak disliked him a lot in the beginning, etc. But there is a time limit on what they have or it should be. (Judging by the preview for episode 4 and the fact that we have very many episodes left, we have way more drama and romance to come.) Tongrak seems traumatized by his home life/family dynamic. He spoke about his mother as if she was the last thing he wanted to be like and yet.. he shows some of the exact same traits, and also some opposing traits, that have made him all the more worse as a result. He buys Mahasamut, tries to control him with his money. And although he apologized, and Mahasmut seems fine with it, it has to hurt, having someone treat you like nothing or as if you're beneath them. Those were Tongrak's first instincts, he does apologize and show sympathy later on in the episode, but it says a lot about what he's probably experienced. Both of their familial stories sound intense and heartbreaking and it's really the first (or second, if we count the auntie's restaurant by the sea date) time we get to seem them sort of connect and get to know each other better, beyond just their physical attraction and sex.
Speed is important, I think, or at least something to take note of. Two weeks Tongrak spent there and Mahasamut is already asking him to stay (and Tongrak asking him to go back home with him, as per the preview). They seem to like each other, and yet, Mahasamut is ready to jump in full force, while Tongrak has stated multiple times that love is imaginary, not real. Our leads are not on the same page at all, which would probably give us more conflict down the line. But they also seem to not be able to stay away from one another. Which must be nerve-wracking for Tongrak, being that his mother was obsessed with his father who seemed to want nothing more to do with any of them other than her money (I felt those same vibes after the phone call with his sister, too. Dad must be lurking around after their money, but creeping on your granddaughter's school is an even more horrible way to do it). And Mahasamut has been tossed aside by his father, too. He's poor, working multiple odd jobs to make ends meet; he's been alone since he was 15, never daring to ask anyone for anything. He must be no stranger to being looked down on but he wants to be more for Tongrak clearly, but he's afraid he won't ever be enough, no matter how hard he tries.
I'm not sure where I was going with this but yeah. If I think of anything more, I'll come back and add it.

Okay I do live reactions for svu so I should do them for evolution too, right? Lol
TO the newcomers: my live watch thoughts are always rather disjointed, unhinged and might not make sense without context, my opinions/thoughts might change on a second glance/second watch through (which i'll do once it's on disney this weekend). anything in my askbox related to this i will wait a few days to reply to to avoid spoilers for others!
Starting off strong with the vic they dressed similar to jj to make us all panic, so that’s out of the way.
Kinda lowkey hate how this is a follow up from last season but starting with shit we have no major connection to HOWEVER, I do like that that’s how the og eps would start so that’s a step in the right direction, right?
“SSA emily prentiss”??!! has she been demoted or was that just an easier way to introduce herself?
OKAY, em not being at garcia’s bday makes a little more sense now if she’s off working a different case, she hasn’t been kidnapped …yet…
“we should eat some cake” tara being the realest here. Where’s my cake? I still haven’t gotten my birthday treat, this is a crime. Someone remind me to pick up cake on Friday before work.
“you’re hot”(screaming cause jj sees what we see) “a hot mess…” yup.. tara is still the realest. Also “mr or mrs right” confirmed pan queen
Jfc Emily looks SO FUCKING GOOD
OH FUCK ME the SMOKING IS IN THE FIRST EPISODE?! Fuck
BOTH OF THEM ARE SMOKING OHHHMY FUCKING GOODDD. It’s a crime that we didn’t get to see either of them actually smoking though, like they were half offscreen, we all know paget knows how to inhale LOL.
It’s voit she’s consulting with, right?
“good book I hope” LOL. Omg luke
And we have our first fuck of the season!
Voit showing off just exactly how good he is and how he would absolutely win over a jury is such a good play and im here for it.
Second fuck of the season.
Also like…yeah.. they’ve got zero concrete proof that voit was/is sicarius. That’s the thing with criminal minds, they NEVER follow past the point of arrest. 90% of their unsubs would end up in mental health facilities or be able to plead not guilty by reason of mental defect. That’s why the show worked so well prior to evolution, we didn’t deal with that much of the political side of it, the team went home and we all just imagined the unsubs went to prison (if they weren’t killed). There would be no way voit would end up charged with this shit unless they had a TON more of evidence.
LOVE rossi & prentiss’ little tiff that’s really just them watching out for each other and making sure they know the other person still has their back.
On the other side, I’m still not sure whether I’m leaning toward Rebecca or tara’s side. I love them both and will forever be made about the killing the gays trope holding up so we’ll see how the season goes..
I am loving how heavy prentiss of an ep this is
JFC. The two with the most heavy trauma lingering from the last season REALLY had to go through THAT???
OKAY THAT WAS JUST LAZY WRITING!!! I KNOW that Emily only said the “didn’t call 911, walked 3 miles…” thing to rossi earlier but to repeat it that quickly in the same episode is…ugh..
“HE” compromised an investigation… uh… that was half Penelope my guy
Ok but now that that whole investigation is no longer a thing and no longer a case whatsoever that was just the easy way of making it not a conflict of interest and now we’re stuck with this awkward love triangle that shouldn’t be a triangle, right? Like, last season it was a little off imo of Garcia, but we’re what? Halfway through episode one and I don’t EVER remember seeing Penelope like this, she keeps saying “I broke up with him” GURL, you WERE NEVER TOGETHER. You kissed twice, you helped him through a public drunk/hangover, you banged and Emily went “dude wtf call it off” and you ended it. She’s acting like a love drunk highschooler who’s been pining after this guy for months…
Rebecca is SO SMOL
Tyler green’s actor reminds me of ryan Reynolds… like… voice and mannerisms? He’s Canadian.. are they like, distantly related?
“he tried to kill me” “but he didn’t” wtf bruh
LOOOL the way rossi stepped in before Emily could end up all “yeah fuck authority, fuck this, fuck you, and fuck your mom. Here’s my badge”
YESSSS EMILY’S FIRST FUCK
Also can we talk about the fact that we’re into like.. day 3? I think and these babes have not slept…. (day 3 for at least em, tara & pen..)
“I’ll post it on youtube myself” dave… there is no way in hell you know how to use youtube…
Okay. Episode one down. Onto episode two.
Goddammit there’s no subtitles on ep 2 lol
Tbh. I love clark Gregg, I think he’s a great addition to the cast.
I can’t stop thinking about the thirst tweets and Zach being all “you guys think serial killers are cute? Uwu” LOL
Penelope comparing her like, week long hook up with tyler to tara’s entire relationship?? (yeah I know we don’t know exactly how long they were together but if they were talking about moving it we can assume it was a decent amount of time?). I HATE what they’re doing to Penelope… like..i could turn a blind eye last season and say it was a fluke but not anymore.
FUCK Emily is so goddamn hot
I repeat my last statement oh my fucking god.
Rossi hallucinating is not okay, like…I know a lot of it is ptsd or whatever but like.. man needs to retire
I am REALLY liking getting to see this much prentiss and rossi in the first 2 eps, I saw a tweet or something bout how paget really got to shine in the first 2 eps and that’s so true. HOWEVER, that makes me stressed that she’s got a ton of screen time in the first couple of eps cause of whatever happens to her later on and her being kidnapped/going rogue or whatever happens that has her nearly blown up/injured in the promo shots we’ve seen.
Also okay, listen, Paget’s incredible. She’s been doing this same role for… let’s say 12 years, she’s stepped away to other jobs and come back to CM, the show’s been cancelled and then renewed and she’s still managing to play it perfectly, keep the character the same, her line delivery, her body language, she just slips right back into it and her acting never deviates (unlike some other actors in similar situations). Her talking to that kid was PURE Emily from earlier seasons.
Omg this entire ex gf bickering in front of tyler is HILARIOUS and I am tyler…like, get me out of the car PLEASE lol.
Okay wow… tara that was a little deep cut my girl.
A HOTCH REFERENCE?!?! Also yeesss Emily calling rossi out to say he’d never do it to him. It’s gotta be that awkward situation of being his boss when he’s older, he’s a man, he “should have been the UC before her”, maybe there was a time when he outranked her. trust me, as someone who’s had to navigate that kinda shit in a bar world, that’s awkward enough, props to em for calling him out. Please continue to call men on their crap.
YES ANOTHER FUCK omg.
I wanna say thank you to whatever director had Rebecca behind the drivers seat and tara in the passenger seat and the camera angles filming them diagonally rather then Rebecca sitting in the middle for no reason other than angles.
Emily’s hair is going to get progressively more straight/unstyled as the season goes on cause she’s more unhinged/out of control/losing it, isn’t it?
The fact that they really listened and put Emily in blue and red in her first two eps…thank you .. lol
“it used to be hard to get someone to take a life. But now, it’s easy. All you’ve gotta do is go on the internet.. tell em a lie.. a big lie..” the TRUTH to that statement is actually fucking terrifying…
Hate voit calling jj “Jennifer” BUT I also know in previous seasons she’s been all “my friends call me jj, you can call me Jennifer” it’s just weird to hear lol.
Okay,,, is em hyper fixating and she fucked up by mentioning gold star or are we meant to believe that rn? Like obvi she’s gonna be focused on that cause of bailey’s death and her denial of working with voit and wanting to solve that case but… still.. yup… no gold star.. not totally surprised. HOWEVER would NOT be surprised that the same trope comes out later in the season, that they’re working something else and Emily is second guessing herself/dave gives her a look and she’s all “yeah you’re right, I was wrong last time.” And doesn’t believe herself and BAM it actually is gold star and maybe that’s what draws her into the field on her own or whatever.
Okay… im assuming we weren’t supposed to hear what voit said to luke? Or am I just deaf without my subtitles LOL.
“who’s infected now?” oooohh kay…. Way to end an episode.
Alright, there we are. ep 1 was better? I’ll likely rewatch when they drop on Disney plus tomorrow/Friday after work, but those are my thoughts so far.

My thoughts on and impressions of the latest Doctor Who specials and Power of the Doctor
So I finally watched everything so I've thought I could write it down here in case someone would like to read it and... whatever. So let's get into it, shall we?
I watched the Power of the Doctor as the last one (actually just now finished watching it) and I'm really glad I did it but I'll write about it at the end as well (or should I make a separate post?), so first the so-called anniversary specials. First of all, I wasn't happy about that thing with David Tennant (i.e. regenerating into David Tennant). Not that I'd think something like "this couldn't happen" or something like that (honestly with everything that did happen in Doctor Who so far, there's basically nothing that couldn't happen. It's just things that some people would like more and some less), it's just... not fair? Also it feels more like a special episode for Red Nose and not a regular one(s). Anyway, I still watched it (partly because of the fact that the Doctor became Disney princess and I happen to have Disney+ so I could watch Doctor Who as easily as snap of the fingers.) and I enjoyed it more than I expected. No, no excitement, no hopping in joy, but still generally enjoyed watching. However there still were things that bugged me like: -despite the Doctor looking like Tenth Doctor, everyone suddenly magically knew that it's regeneration after Thirteen. How?? -Donna said she forgot again everything that she knew from that TimeLord part in her, but she (and Rose as well) knew that the Doctor was a woman before. How? (by the way this whole thing that the part of Time Lord that was in Donna (and then Rose) all the years was still in connection with the Doctor somehow so it "knew" what was happening to the Doctor... eh. Doesn't sound right to me either, sorry). -moving to second special and Donna's shouting when Tardis abandoned them on the spaceship. (this is something I already complained about in a short post before) She remembered travelling with the Doctor, so she knew what could go wrong (everything) and how often (basically everytime), yet she insisted she would like to go in the Tardis and do the short trip and when something went wrong she immediately went crazy, shouting and demanding she has to go back home. Seriously, Donna? %/ - I mentioned earlier that regenerating Thirteen back into Tenth Doctor (sorry, he's just the same, he's not Fourteenth to me. It would make somewhat sense if he looked the same (except age obviously) but acted differently.) felt unfair to me and even more when he didn't regenerate but divided himself (and the Tardis), like... eh, no, not fair. Which brings us to the special with Celestial Toymaker. I was looking forward to it and curious because Celestial Toymaker is one of my favourite classic who stories so I was curious how he'd be in NuWho. I liked him (though I didn't quite get why he had that sort of a German accent??) and rather enjoyed the episode. Except for that "regeneration" thing at the end of course as I already said. Anyway the biggest complaint I would have about the specials is that for me they didn't feel like anniversary specials. Moreover 70th anniversary. Not even one of them.
Now probably a few words to the Christmas special and first look at the new Doctor. He seems good (like... good for the Doctor. As the Doctor. Doctor-y.) and I think I'll enjoy watching his episodes. As for Ruby... I'm not sure. She somehow seems very similar to other previous Doctor Who companions like Rose (Tyler) or Clara. You know, like... yes, it's a different actor and looks more or less different but somehow doesn't differ that much. I didn't think of it when watching, but when thought of it now I think I figured out why I wasn't excited about her. It's not that I didn't like her, I just... don't care about her. But we'll see when we see her (them both) in more episodes I guess? Probably.
And now I finally got to Thirteenth's regeneration story - Power of the Doctor. I finally gained courage today to watch it (because I love Thirteen, I don't want to see her go, right?) and I'm really, really glad that I watched it after all the specials, because this - to me - felt much more like an anniversary special than all the Tenant specials together. I didn't like to see Thirteen go but otherwise, I LOVED it. Of course I knew there's gonna be Ace and Tegan but didn't know how much. And I didn't avoid spoilers so I caught there's gonna be more "old familiar faces" but didn't search for the details and also partly forgot about it. So seeing the previous old Doctors made me smile (and drop a tear), seeing Tegan and Ace in action was so brilliant, and that therapeutic session at the end? Top-notch. Can we have a spin-off out of this? However that anniversary feeling wasn't because of seeing all the old familiar faces, but how it was put in the story and how it all was done and just... it was great and wonderful and I really really loved it.
And that's probably all I wanted to say. If you read the whole thing, congratulations and you're welcome to leave a comment... no? OK, never mind. Good night! (it's 22.27 here)

We got some more casting calls for the FNAF 2 movie today!!
And it’s starting to paint a (very vague) picture.
There was one for a cashier and another for a waitress, but I don’t really care about those. I’m just going to focus on -
(I'm going to talk about casting calls, and my own speculation about what they could mean. No major spoilers, but if you want to walk into FNAF 2 totally blind please don't read!)
(There was also one for an “older sister,” but I’m going to ignore that for now.)
This casting call is interesting, because if you remember-
Is also filming that day, as well as -
But going back to the ‘young Michael’ casting. The only two dates he’s scheduled are October 25th (which he shared with young Vanessa and William) and December 2nd.
(Obligatory reminder, this could all be wrong or pure coincidence!)
What do we know?
Young Michael, ‘Dark Hair Little Boy,’ and ‘Younger Sister’ are all filming (or on set) the same day.
The age range they want for younger Michael is approx. 8-years-old.
The age range they want for the ‘younger sister’ is 4(ish).
The age range they want for the ‘Dark Hair Boy’ is more open ended. But as I said in a previous post, judging by the height cutoff, I would say somewhere between 5-8 (give or take a year or two).
All three of them share dark brown hair (or potentially black, in the little boy’s case).
What we don’t know but can (kind of) gather:
Whatever scene they’re going to share (maybe), takes place somewhere between 1982-1984.
But the most likely year is 1983.
I say this because Mike is 25 (if the novel can be used for approx. ages).
And if he’s 25 in 2000, 12 in 1987, then that means he’s 8 in 1983.
And it seems like Garrett isn’t born yet (probably), and he was 4 in 1987.
So, that leaves us with 1982 or 1983 (depending on when Mike’s birthday falls).
Speculation:
Something happened in 1983 that was the catalyst for what happened in the following years.
Michael might be related to the other two.
The little girl might be Charlie Emily.
This is assuming, again, that the dark-haired boy and little girl aren’t from one of those (potentially real) screenplay pages Scott gave us a few months back.
The girl being Charlie would line up with the age given to us in the Novel trilogy and games (I think).
She was three when she died, and while the casting specifies 4, it could still work.
After all, Garrett’s actor was six during filming, but he’s said to be 4 in the novels.
And it’s not like a year of difference would mean anything if they did change it.
I’m pretty sure I’ve seen from FNAF theorists that Charlie died during a Halloween party…? So, I’m going to go off of that.
The movie seems to be taking place during October, possibly centering or counting down to Halloween.
This, mixed with the trick or treaters casting call, might give us a better picture.
Even if the casting call for trick or treaters doesn’t take place on the same day, that doesn’t mean the flashback couldn’t still center on a Halloween party.
Speaking of which, while Young Michael and the Younger Sister aren’t filming past December 2nd, the Little Boy is.
This is interesting, because the rest of his days he’s on set with the-
Which is, apparently, supposed to be a flashback of some sort. This could mean anything. The year for this ‘flashback’ isn’t given, however-
Putting the pieces (of a very incomplete puzzle) together:
Mike is 8 in 1983.
He’s on set the same day as the dark-haired boy.
Who, in turn, is on set the same day as the flashback scene is being filmed (and not just one day either, ALL of them).
The Younger Sister is harder to speculate about, especially with nothing connecting her to Michael or the dark haired boy.
Anyway, focusing on Michael and the dark-haired boy (which I will now abbreviate as DB).
If there’s confirmation of a flashback (via the birthday kids), and DB is there, and Michael met DB as a kid, then that means the flashback has to take place in 1983.
I don’t know what to make of this, but it’s definitely helping me write some future fanfics <3
(Also, sorry for the incoherent rambling.)

Day something or another of having a gut feeling that Akeem and Zommoros are the same person. Like-
It's canon djinn can lose their memories. In fact it's canon that djinn can have their memories removed via other's involvement (Joko's ghost eaters) so it's not impossible that Isgarren removed the knowledge from Zommoros of any involvement he previously had with the wizards. Or legit Zommoros is just pretending to be... well himself.
Zommoros' voice actor had only done about two roles in GW2 - Zommoros and Redeemer Kossan, all the way back in the PoF/LWS4 era. And that was it. Rick Wasserman had been absent for the entirety of Icebrood Saga and EoD. Then suddenly he came BACK and is the voice of Zizel, Frode, Nephus, and a few ambient NPCs if you listen closely enough. Obviously sure, Anet previously worked with him so there was good incentive to bring back someone you know works well. But at the same time...
• Listen to the ambient dialogue in the Bastion of the Obscure.
Head Experimenter Rhianwyn: I wonder how all of this...mess would have turned out if Akeem was still with us? [...] We only have notes and stories now. Which are all...contradictory. One said they were a water djinn; another, earth... A third claimed no one knew for certain. Akeem spent much of their time shapeshifting into other species to learn more about them. Regardless, we follow their lead. Question everything. Never accept the reality presented in front of you.
There's more dialogue along this vein of "Akeem isn't with us - question everything - explore all the secrets" but then you have THIS. ONE. RANDOM. CONVERSATION
Astral Ward Mage: I need to get back into my lab immediately.
Astral Ward Mage: We were so close to tuning the dagger that Zommoros gave Isgarren.
Rift Hunter Warrior: Oh, I know. I still remember how challenging it was to merge Lyhr when it first arrived.
Astral Ward Mage: Alchemy... I've never heard him scream like that. Just holding it made him split.
Astral Ward Mage: You know Zommoros, though. Could've done it just to mess with us.
This is an ambient dialogue that SPECIFICALLY happens in the BASTION OF THE OBSCURE. Not the Bastion of Knowledge or even Balance, you know, areas that deal with Isgarren and Lyhr. They are bringing up ZOMMOROS in the Bastion associated with AKEEM.
Multiple people are casually saying "there are secrets here" and "don't take things at face value" on top of the fact that the FIRST type of djinn that got mentioned as a POSSIBILITY of what type of djinn Akeem is was A WATER DJINN. And then someone else CASUALLY mentioned the most WELL-KNOWN WATER DJINN IN THE ENTIRE GAME is on good enough terms with The WIZARDS to be pulling pranks on them!
• The Mother-Freaking Sword Achievement
So there's a few achievements that mention Akeem or the Bastion of the Obscure, but we need to talk about the sword. The sword you get from completing the Bastion of the Obscure weapon achievement, and how it really makes you stop and ponder.
First off, you get access to Turai Ossa's journal. And apparently he met Isgarren long ago... who initially pretended to be Akeem. Pardon what? We already know from Dagda's journal that Isgarren made himself blue to look more like a djinn and less intimidating, but why introduce himself as someone else? Does he miss Akeem that much? Admittedly, this raises a dozen questions and none of them are easily answered with the Akeem = Zommoros theory.
But what's REALLY suspicious is that to complete the achievement you actually have to use the Mystic Forge, and this is the ONLY achievement among the Bastion weapon achievements that needs the Mystic Forge. Not to mention that there is very little information revealed about Akeem from this achievement, compared to the other achievements which at least offered something. Like Anet is intentionally hiding information.
And yet this is the second time a connection has been made between Akeem and Zommoros.
#gw2#gw2 soto#soto spoilers#we don't even necessarily want Zommoros and Akeem to be the same person but holy biscuits this is a lot of evidence that can't be ignored#we can easily keep going but sleepy#like how the Mystic Forge is in the middle of the Wizard Tower almost like it's going to be part of a future cutscene#or how the first set of Wizard's vault weapons and armor are the same colour and style as Miyani's armour#we didn't bother mentioning Miyani's voice actor because it's the same VA as Caithe so she's been here for a LONG while lol

Chamomile Comic Trivia #31
#159 - Notice
It's Sam! I wish I had written down more about my decision to add her, although at this point I'm fairly sure I wasn't certain she was going to become a main character - in fact it was RIGHT around the week this posted that I began work on the first proper cover art for the series which of course did not include her.
Her design was based off this old one-off pin-up girl art from 2017, technically making her the first ever major Chamomile Comic character to exist, sort of.
She was named after Sam Lloyd, likely known for his portrayal of Ted the Lawyer from Scrubs. The news of his death had recently broken and I had just recently begun listening to Fake Doctors, Real Friends, the Scrubs rewatch podcast, as my go-to background entertainment when colouring the comic specifically each week. It still is now, albeit intermittently since they don't always produce an episode each week and I no longer have a backlog to catch up on. Now granted, I don't love the podcast as much as I used to - can be a bit cringey at times as these two hollywood actors chat about utterly unrelatable anecdotes from their lives - but it's overall been enjoyable and it'll be weird to find something new to accompany my colouring if it does come to an end or stops being enjoyable once they permanently pivot into... whatever they plan to do after they run out of Scrubs episodes. It's been part of my colouring process for the comic for longer than it hasn't been now, haha. So... yeah it felt right to honour that connection to my comic with Sam's name, on top of the fact that Scrubs is just straight-up one of my favourite TV shows and Ted was always a character that gave me big laughs.
Of course... I realised after that I'd introduced yet another character to the comic ending in "-a"! ...But whatever, it's a common thing. Not so long ago I had 5 co-workers simultaneously whose names also ended in -a, lol.
The decision to have had her always be around simply came from not having any strong ideas to introduce her and preferring the idea that at least some of the cast already knew her. The gag's been done before, but I thought it'd be extra funny to introduce her with a scene in which she is specifically announcing her departure from being a regular face in Cammie's life, which typically would mean the same for the audience in most works with actually established characters.
Final little bonus note - in panel 1, Cammie once again is entering with a handful of steaming coffee.
#160 - Official
I didn't really mean for it to be so small it's barely legible at web size, but the little sign on the panic alarm button behind the till says "Real emergencies only Cammie!", in reference to #50.
#161 - Before
All that Scrubs talk regarding Sam is kinda fitting, because they did the "this character was always here!" gag there too. For their one, they edited her in on various memorable shots and pretended the main character didn't notice her being present, here I obviously extended the frame on the end of several punchline panels from previous comics.
Here's a gif that shows the original panels compared to the new ones, showing both the new and old art isolated as well so you can see exactly what I drew to extend the older panels which naturally weren't drawn originally knowing that I would one day be extending them!
The second of the three Sam flashbacks is just a nice little bridging one, but it did take me a while to decide for sure which way around I wanted the first and third flashback panel. For the first: while there's been a little bit of mild bad language in the comic once the seal was broken here, Sam's "bitch" is the first time such language has appeared so it amused me to place it in a scene that has already happened long ago just barely outside of the audience's perspective. For the third: the joke is of course that the reveal of Sam's additional dialogue is particularly adding nothing to the scene whatsoever - like, as if Cammie making a fool of herself would even be remark-worthy at this point. I felt both these two goofs had a good punch to them in their own way so yeah, I remember being conflicted over whether I had chosen the funniest possible flow of these three gags.
Of course, the final joke of this one, in case it wasn't obvious (I could see it being subtle for some), is that Mimi's whole running gag is she's a side character who also has existed in the comic for long before her first on-screen appearance, yet Cammie never remembers her.
#162 - New
The art and dialogue structure of the first two panels here is identical to #160. I think it being a time-saver on my workload for the week was definitely a factor - for whatever reason I needed it at the time - but I also remember going for something with that choice beyond just that... But I can't for the life of me remember what. I don't think the parallel between the two comics adds anything reading them back now.
Anyway here's Newt! I really thought at the time that he was going to be as significant an addition as Sam, and I did come up with the idea of introducing a regular male character at the time I chose to bring Sam in, with Sam's introduction - and exit - being an amusing way to introduce a surprise new character.
...Then I proceeded to never really get any super strong story ideas for him lol. More detail on that in a second. I haven't forgotten him though, frustrates me that he keeps getting sidelined!
#163 - Training
Standard behind-the-scenes retail frustration humour here. I can neither confirm nor deny how much is based on my current employment. A little detail of authenticity/flavour is that they're watching a DVD intended for widescreen on an old non-widescreen TV that's clearly been in their staff room for at least a decade. Such was the case for my painful training videos too! (It's all online now as of a few years into when I started, so some progress has been made I guess).
#164 - Huh
It's not made clear yet, but the new status quo that Sam is a receptionist at a primary school is established here - the coloured hanging letter signage on the wall that is too perspective'd to read says "WELCOME TO OUR SCHOOL".
I chose this as a job for her based simply on the fact that my Mum has often worked in school offices for most of my life. She wasn't a receptionist but it was the sort of job where I have some... vague enough memories of the "behind-the-scenes" enough to draw something along those lines when I needed to show Sam at work.
Getting back to Newt, obviously the goof here is that Cammie is just being a sore loser about her friend leaving and Newt is about the most cool-sounding interesting person you could imagine meeting. Unfortunately that involved specifically coming up with fun sounding stuff that are not super common to do or know people that do, so despite the super interesting combo of cave-diving, stand-up and polyamory these are all things I feel like I'd have to do thorough research on to represent in the actual comic accurately... which is something I'd like to do but, time is finite and I have so much pre-existing experience with being a silly nonsense person. Would you believe it, there's another character in the comic for whom that experience lends itself very well!!
Speaking of whom, the first appearance of the bell on the door in Repeat 1 Records was only a month after Cammie got the job. She works fast!
