multiple ways to answer this so since i love talking i'll answer in each way

my most played song this year was Haunted by Spanish Love Songs

some of my favorite songs i heard for the first time this year are Soft Atrocity by Rook&Nomie, White Face, Black Eyes by AJJ, Tom Sawyer/You Know Where You Can Find Me by Laura Stevenson, Sun Bleached Flies by Ethel Cain, Antonymph by Vylet Pony (and the 2009 N3wgr0undz V3rs10n), God Is a Freak by Peach PRC, The Show Goes On by Bruce Hornsby, And a Bang on the Ear by The Waterboys, as well as The Whole of the Moon by The Waterboys. sorry there's many, i'm indecisive

my favorite songs that came out this year are Yes! Yes! A Thosuand Times Yes! by Home Is Where and Clean-Up Crew by Spanish Love Songs

my song of the year in the sense of the one of i find most representative of it is Ich Errinere Mich An Weimar by World/Inferno Friendship Society. i actually fully expected this to be my most played song this year, it is in fact my most played song ever despite only having heard it early last december. a song about the rise of fascism in the weimar republic feels apt for 2023. my ex introduced me to this band shortly after we reconnected at the end of last year, and both the rekindling of that friendship and its subsequent ending had signficant impacts on my year, so it has a personal connection as well.

8. Game of the year?

not to be basic but it has to be Tears of the Kingdom. ALTHOUGH i beat Bloodborne for the first time this year so if we're talking games i played for the first time this year in general i'm counting that. just a purrfect game in every way. i feel in disbelief when i think about it sometimes.

18. A memorable meal this year?

christmas dinner was actually quite excellent! my cousin is a purrfessional chef and was down visiting so he cooked and it was purrdictably all excellent. usually am a big opponent of turkey for christmas, but he made the best turkey i ever had in my life so.
