Leaf Pressing
Pairing: Joel Miller x F!Reader
Word count: 1.2k
Summary: Comfortember day three: leaves changing
Warning: Getting together, set in Jackson, fluff, first kiss, darlin’, all knowledge about leaf pressing comes from online
A/N: joel looks so gooood in this gif, like damnnn boy. This is kinda rushed and I haven’t written for Joel in a hot minute and I didn’t find out until yesterday about Comfortember so I’m trying to catch up. And yes darlin’ is it’s own warning because FUCK it hits the spot every time. Divider by @saradika

It was kinda a spur-of-the-moment decision. You had seen the changing of the trees, the ground litter with fresh falling leaves and you suddenly had an idea. Something you hadn’t done in ages.
You started by collecting all the leaves that weren’t already curling in on themselves, picking out the prettier ones, setting them on the porch step before racing to the mess hall.
There’s this giddy feeling inside you, one that is rare these days, but it’s freeing and you can’t stop smiling.
You probably look like you’ve officially gone insane as you burst into the mess hall, not acknowledging anyone as you make a bee line straight into the kitchen.
“I need wax paper.” You announced to the poor unexpecting kitchen staff and they all stared at you in bewilderment. Talk of the town you’ll be this week.
The head Chef looked at the staff, “Well don’t just stand there, get this lady some wax paper!”
As the kitchen staff scrambled to find the box of wax paper, you smiled at the chef, “Thanks Donny. I only need a little bit.”
He waved you off, his blue eyes bright as he smiled, “Take all ya need, and here,” He placed a bag of treats in your hand, “Give my love to your Joel and Ellie.”
You blushed, of course everyone in town knows of your obvious crush on Joel and the way you’ve taken to caring for the snippy teenager like she’s your own family.
With the supplies you came for, plus the snacks, you headed back to your place. Once there you stared down at the leaves for a minute wondering how you’re going to proceed.
There's an option, probably the best one. In all of Jackson only one house has the perfect setup for your craft. The only problem is that Joel’s not home and even though he has told you multiple times that his door is always open, any time of day, it doesn't matter if he’s home or not; you still feel like it’s trespassing.
You sighed, standing here doing nothing isn’t going to get the leaves pressed. Before you could talk yourself out of it, you’re packing everything up and walking down the street to Joel’s. His door is locked but you have your own set of keys to his place.
Entering, you take off your shoes and set them neatly on the shoe rack by the door and as you pass the dining area you set the bag of goodies you got from Chef Donny onto the table. It’ll be a nice surprise for Joel and Ellie when they get home.
You entered his workshop area and placed the materials you needed down on the table. Next you searched the closet for an iron board and the matching iron. You know Joel owns them; no one’s shirts can be that wrinkled free. Apocalypse or not.
Now with the board and iron, you started organising all the craft materials and kicked open the iron board stands, placing the board beside the workshop table.
The house is quiet without Joel and Ellie. Though you’re sure if you strained your ears enough you might be able to hear the pitter-patter of Ellie’s stray cat she took in a few months back.
Suddenly there’s a noise behind you, someone clearing their throat and you whip around to find Joel leaning against the doorway; shoulder pressed against the frame and one leg crossed over the other in an unfairly attractive way.
He’s chewing on the snack you left on the table, “Gotta say, darlin’, I wasn’t expecting to see you here. Leaves a man wondering how often a pretty girl is alone in his house with him not knowing.”
“This is the first time, I promise!” You rushed out, not wanting to make Joel mad or upset.
“Hey, I ain’t mad. I meant what I said before. Doors open twenty-four seven. Whether it be for food, company, or apparently arts and crafts. Whatever it is, this house is yours too.” He said in honesty before pressing his lips together.
“What's wrong?” You frowned, trying to read his expression, “You got a look in your eyes I’ve never seen before.”
“When I saw your shoes I panicked. I thought something had happened and I wasn’t there for you. Then I find you up here humming along to some old tune, completely safe and I-,” Joel shook his head with a sigh and pushed himself off the doorframe, “I guess I forgot how simple life can be sometimes.”
It’s an easy thing to forget. The world hasn’t been simple for decades, but here, right now it is. For you, for him. You sent him an understanding nod and asked: “You want to help?”
Joel looked at your pile of supplies, “Leaf pressing?”
You held a leaf up for him to see, “I found these leaves this morning and remembered how I used to love doing arts and crafts,” You shrugged, turning back to face the workbench, “Like you said; the simple things in life.”
He came over to get a better look, his body hovering over your shoulder, breath hot against your neck and you can’t suppress the shiver that ran down your spine.
“Good haul.” Joel commented and picked up one of the bigger ones, “I can leave you to it if you want. I don’t mind.”
“No,” You said a little too fast, causing you to blush, “I mean, I don't mind, seriously. I like having you here. You’re, um, good company.”
“Just good?” He teased, setting down the leaf and closing the space between you to rest his head down on your shoulder, hands wrapping around your front.
You sucked in a sharp breath, body involuntarily relaxing against him, “Ego stroking isn’t a good look on you Miller.”
He chuckled against your neck, leaving goosebumps to break out across your skin. He didn’t reply; instead he watched as you sorted through the pile of leaves until you found your favourite ones, then asked him to pick out four from the pile, narrowing down the options. If he was surprised by your ask, it didn’t show.
With the best four leaves picked you placed them onto the sheet of wax paper on the board and then added the other half of wax paper overtop.
“Pass me the iron, make sure it’s on medium heat please.”
Without separating from your back Joel stretched out and grabbed the irons handle and passed it to you. You did the next part in comfortable silence while Joel’s thumbs rubbed circles just over your belly button, slightly wrinkling your shirt.
Leaves pressed together, you turned to him.
“Now what?” He asked, hands finding a new spot to rest, just above the band of your pants.
Your eyes flickered down to his plush lips as you replied: “We, ah, have to wait for the paper to cool off.”
Joel hummed, closing the distance between you slowly, “Then?”
“We choose to either cut out the leaves individually or keep them as is, all together.”
“We?” He raised a brow, eyes twinkling as his forehead finally touched yours.
“Yeah, we.” You breathed, breath tickling his lips and you rubbed your nose against Joel’s before closing the remaining gap to capture his lips in yours, earning an appreciated groan from the man.

1926 Pt2 - Breaking Free
Tumblr media
The night everything truly changed for David started like any other night. A dinner rush filled with loud teenagers and starstruck couples on their way to see a movie. The pain from that one war story he didn't like to talk about. And lots of juice to drown it all out.
Tumblr media
He had gotten really good at mixing juice and most nights he could even enjoy it. That night the room was already spinning before it even hit midnight. He tried to push out Thorne's lingering words telling him to take better care of Elena. This was his job. He couldn't just stop.
Tumblr media
"You don't look too good." One of their regular patrons broke into David's thoughts as he took the drink off the bar.
"Thanks Will, I'll take it from here. Go enjoy your evening." Gilbert's eyes drifted over David then he motioned to the back of the room. "Come sit with me."
Tumblr media
Gilbert handed David another drink as they sat next to the fire "You look tense. What's wrong?" David shifted uncomfortably. "I'm asking as your brother not your boss"
David sighed "The late nights are ruining my family"
"So I promote you and you only work the bar on Saturdays"
Tumblr media
"I...suppose that could work. It would be good to be with my family more."
"I see great potential in you David. Stick with this and you could become my head chef one day."
"That...would be ideal."
"Great!. Now if you'll excuse me there's someone I need to talk to.
Tumblr media
David stood to return to the bar but his eyes followed Gilbert to the door. The juice went straight to his head when he saw her. How dare Gilbert step over this line! How dare he call himself family when he acted so dastardly!
"What the plumb are you doing here!?"
Tumblr media
"I'm getting a drink what does it look like"
"It looks like a child breaking the law"
"I'm not a child! I'm older than my father was when he got married and had me so I think I'm old enough to make my own decisions!"
"Not while you live under my roof!"
Tumblr media
"All my life I've just been one big disappointment. My dad didn't want me. My mom couldn't handle me. My teachers found me difficult. I dropped out but I still can't DO anything. Uncle Gil offers me a job and it's not good enough for you. I just don't know what you want from me!"
Tumblr media
David listened until Lizzie ran out of words to say. "I want you to stop trying to grow up so fast and let me be your father"
"But you're NOT my father!"
"You're right. I told you I would fight the monsters but I can barely fight my own. I've brought them right to our doorstep"
Tumblr media
Lizzie looked up at him "If it's so bad why do you still work here?" "It's not that simple"
"You told me once that monsters are weaker when we're not afraid. You told me that I was strong enough. David...Dad...you're strong enough to fight the monsters too"
"Go home Lizzie"
Tumblr media
David felt like ice water had been poured into his veins. No pleading from Elena or lecture from Thorne could make everything as clear as looking into Lizzie's eyes and seeing how much he had failed. Was she right? Was it really that easy? Would walking away actually fix it?
Tumblr media
David poured himself a drink, then went to find Gilbert. Gilbert was already heavily juiced and agitated but there was never a time when Gil wasn't agitated.
"What are you saying, I gave you a promotion and now you want to quit!?"
"I'm sorry. I have to choose my family first."
Tumblr media
David was home earlier than usual but Elena was already asleep on the couch. He brought her to the bed as had become his practice and kissed her gently. He was about lay down next to her but suddenly felt suffocated. He tore at his clothes feverishly before tumbling onto the bed
Tumblr media
He woke to a hand pressed against his temple "Elena" He whispered weakly.
"Thank the Watcher!"
"You're hand feels like ice."
"You've had a fever. The doctor said if it didn't break by sundown..." She took a shaky breath
"Hey, I'm okay. Everythings going to be okay now."
Tumblr media
She lay her head on his chest. "I quit my job yesterday."
"What?"
"I know things will be hard for awhile while I find a new job but...I don't want to live like that anymore."
She climbed onto the bed next to him. "I don't care about the money as long as I have my husband back"
Tumblr media
David slept most of that day and the next as his body recovered but the next night as she prepared for bed he slipped his arms around her. "Let me help."
Elena laughed, "You're supposed to be resting."
"I don't want to rest. When was the last time I just made you feel good?"
Tumblr media
She leaned into his soft touches as he held her. "It's been awhile" she admitted.
"Tonight isn't about babies or even about us." He pulled her closer. "Tonight I just want to make sure my wife knows how incredibly in love with her I am."
Tumblr media
She turned to look in his eyes. "Really?" She couldn't remember a time when woohoo had ever been about how she felt.
"Elena, you are the most important thing in my life. If you don't know that by now I'm doing something very wrong. I don't need to have a baby to succeed in life"
Tumblr media
He led her to the bed and they collapsed onto it together. As he promised, that night was all about her as he worshipped everything she was and everything she had ever been for him. And like a miracle their 4 years of trying finally came to an end. Elena was pregnant.

⤑ made-up love song drabbles
Tumblr media
First date: Seokjin’s POV
kim seokjin x reader warnings; none! words; 2,196 words
↪︎ read the series here / and drabbles here
Tumblr media
Seokjin felt like a drink. It was nine o’clock in the morning, so absolutely out of the question, but it didn’t stop him from craving it. Whiskey. Definitely whiskey. Nana’s PA had just been to pick up Arin for the weekend – Thank God. Finally she would be able to spend time with her mom after a month, which he was over the moon about, and selfishly, that meant his date with you could go ahead. Even if he was so nervous he could throw up.
Work had been a great distraction for the past two days but once he’d woken up this morning the realisation had dawned on him. He was going on a date tonight. His first in a decade. He still couldn’t believe he’d actually gone through with it and asked you to dinner. He’d faced his fears, possibly made a fool of himself and shared too much about his personal life in the process, but you hadn’t seemed to mind at all. You were so easy to talk to, it was refreshing. He’d felt brave for the first time in months – years.   But it still didn’t stop him from being on pins as soon as he’d opened his eyes this morning.
He’d showered early, just after Arin had woken up and then he’d helped her get ready for the day too, allowing her to eat her breakfast in front of the television as he tried to swallow down his bowl of porridge too. It tasted like cardboard – but then again, it might have been his cooking. Misook usually made the food around her, when he wasn’t dining out or ordering take out of course.
Arin had noticed his strange mood straight away. Obviously.
“Daddy, what’s wrong with you this morning?” She’d asked, looking over at him warily before hesitating. “I am spending the weekend with mom, right?”
“Of course you are, sweetie” he’d rushed, shaking away the  surge of anger he’d felt. It pained him to know she was always expecting the worst lately. “Your mom just text me to say Jia is on her way.”
She’d smiled then, her face lighting up and he couldn’t help but match it, his nerves disappearing for a while. That was until he was left all alone, the house now empty and silent. He eyed the bottle of whiskey on the kitchen counter (where he’d left it after his small nightcap last night) and shook his head. He should drop you a text, just to check in and see if you were still on for tonight. He needed to find out what time to pick you up anyway. He probably should have messaged you the day before, he panicked suddenly, worrying his bottom lip between his teeth as he pulled his phone from his sweatpants pocket. Oh well, there was no time for regrets, that’s what his father always said.
It took him at least ten minutes to figure out what to say. His first draft sounded too cheerful, too false, he was trying way too hard and had added an examination point. His second was too formal, fifteen years of sending business emails back and forth obvious. He settled on something in the middle – he hoped.
Unknown (9:32am)  Hi Y/N,  It’s Kim Seokjin, Arin’s father. Just wondering if you still want to have dinner tonight? If so, please let me know and I will send through the restaurant details. We can decide on a time for me to pick you up.  Regards, Seokjin
Only, reading it back after he hit send he began to second guess himself. Of course you knew who he was, his confidence might be lacking a little right now but he knew he wasn’t totally forgettable. What an idiot. Not that he could do much, there was no turning back. He’d committed.
He busied himself with a bit of Saturday morning cleaning while he waited for your reply, and by that he meant straightening up the pillows he and Arin had been sitting against earlier. When he returned to the kitchen, your message was waiting for him.
You (9:43am)  Of course, send the details. I trust your taste!
See, exclamation points suited you. It was cute. He could just imagine you saying it in person, your dazzling smile, maybe that little giggle you’d made a few times on Wednesday. He felt something warm in his chest as he got lost in his thoughts, nerves easing once again. You were excited for tonight, he told himself.   Maybe you were even just as nervous as him possibly…
He spent yet another few minutes composing his reply. A lot more casual this time, signing off with just his name. He didn’t always text like this, Namjoon could vouch for him, but he didn’t think you were both quite there yet. He wanted to show his best self after all. He wanted to impress you. He wanted to make you like him as much as he liked you.
Seokjin (9:50am)  The sudden pressure… The restaurant’s name is KIM. I hope you like it. Is 7 alright to pick you up? I made reservations for 7:30.  Seokjin
In truth, this restaurant was one he co-owned with his brother. Seokchul was the executive chef and they were both very proud of how successful their business venture had become. He knew taking you to such a place might seem like a cop-out – or worse, a brag – but that wasn’t the case at all. He wanted to treat you in a place that meant a lot to him. He could have chosen multiple restaurants, he was a regular at quite a few and could easily get a great table, but see, that did seem like he was showing off and he did not want to give you that impression at all. It was the complete opposite of his personality. KIM was a good choice, he was sure of it, and it helped that his brother didn’t work weekends, so there was no risk of bumping into him. Although, he had let him know about the date (and had begged him not to spill to their mother).
You (9:52am)  I will. 7 sounds perfect. I’ll send through my address. See you later!
You followed up with a Google Maps link to your home, and he sent a quick thank you – sans his name this time. With a quick sigh he pocketed his phone again, it was time to get on with his day. He had some paperwork from yesterday to complete by Monday morning so he should probably make a start. He stopped to order a light lunch at midday, ate it as he scrolled through his very limited social media before getting back to it.
He called it a day around 3pm, a call from his mom interrupting his flow. He spent an hour talking, their weekend phone calls were habitual by now and he enjoyed them immensely.  He loved his father of course, but their conversations mostly revolved around work. Despite stepping down as CEO three years ago, he was still a vital member of the company, and Seokjin continued to consult him at every opportunity and lean on him for support when things got stressful. With his mom, she was the woman he could still be a kid around. They could talk about anything and everything, but for her own benefit he left out his plans for tonight. He knew what she was like, she’d get way too excited and overwhelmed and before long she’d be sobbing down the line while simultaneously asking to meet you. She’d been wanting him to meet someone new for so long, much like Mrs. Shin. It was a surprise the two women weren’t conspiring behind his back.
No, he’d keep it a secret for now. If things went well tonight, then possibly his mother would get to find out. He wasn’t getting his hopes up though – or at least he was trying not to.
It was just after four when he got off the phone, too early to start getting ready just yet, so he sat in front of the television and tried to concentrate on a series he’d recently started. (It wasn’t going well. He was on about one episode a week out of a nine season TV show.) It was no use though, the nerves were rearing their ugly head again.
He decided to choose his outfit. Seokjin wasn’t much of a thinker when it came to fashion, he just grabbed whatever he saw first that morning, but tonight he wanted to at least put some effort in. After much deliberation he decided on a navy two piece paired with a white dress shirt. It wasn’t over the top, he thought, but nice enough to make that impression that was so very important to him. He kept his hair simple. He’d managed to squeeze in a haircut yesterday so it made things easier, but upon closer inspection in the mirror he noticed those pesky grey hairs of his glittering in the sunlight. He grimaced, worried now. He didn’t know your exact age yet, but it was obvious he was a few years older than you. He was no spring chicken, especially with those wrinkles around his eyes. He had been called handsome all his life, no stranger to it, but right now he was dubious.
He pushed his trivial concerns away and concentrated on the next decision. What car he would take. He didn’t want to go too flash – again with the showing off thing – so the Aston Martin was definitely off the cards. He hadn’t actually driven that one much, going through some sort of so-called midlife crisis when he’d bought it straight after his divorce, so he made a mental note to take it out next weekend. He decided on the Mercedes convertible (roof on, of course). It seemed like a suitable choice, not too flashy at all really. He didn’t want to run the risk of putting you off him or overwhelming you with showy displays. He was well aware of the differences between your lifestyles, not that he cared at all, but it didn’t stop him from understanding. The things that seemed slight to him could very well be enormous for you. He didn’t want to make you feel uncomfortable in any way, shape or form.
Shit, on second thoughts maybe his restaurant was a bad idea…
.
.
Seokjin was always punctual, he prided himself on it, but tonight it made him nervous. He’d said 7 but it had only just gone quarter to. He couldn’t very well stay in the car for fifteen minutes, you’d spot him out the window, so ever so slowly he opened his car door and stepped out, his heart thudding against his ribcage. He was sure he noticed his hand shaking as he closed it behind him. He was such a mess it was embarrassing.
You lived in a nice little neighbourhood, it seemed quiet, and he admired your pots of flowers in the patch of garden you had as he made his way up the path that led to your front door. He took a deep breath before ringing the doorbell, adjusting his suit jacket as he waited for you to open up. It’s fine, Seokjin, he told himself. It’s just dinner. You’ve done much scarier things in your life. Pull yourself together, man.
A few seconds later the door opened in front of him and you came into view, looking as beautiful as ever. I’m fucked, he thought immediately.
“Hi,“ he forced himself to say as he smiled. He was probably staring but he couldn’t help himself. You looked stunning, your dress deep red in colour and incredibly flattering. His throat felt dry and he swallowed quickly.
“Hey,” you greeted back.
“You look beautiful,“ he couldn’t help but awe, hoping he wasn’t stepping out of line with his compliment.
"Thank you,” you smiled almost shyly. It was adorable. “You look…really good.“
He couldn’t help but burst out laughing at that, aware the sound was probably highly unfaltering, but he couldn’t help it. "I’ll take it. Thanks.” He tilted his head to the right then, composing himself. “Are you ready to go? I’m a bit early, I know. Sorry about that."
He really couldn’t tear himself away from your beauty, but luckily you didn’t seem to notice, busy nodding as you clutched your purse to your side. "I, uh… I would invite you in to kill time but my best friend’s embarrassing.” Your voice raised as you continued, your head turning slightly down the hallway.
He raised an eyebrow, a little confused, but he guessed said best friend was in the house somewhere? He smiled and shook his head. “It’s fine.”
As you stepped forward, a breath of a chuckle slipping from your throat, he moved to the side, outstretching his arm to let you lead the way. You accepted with a brief nod of your head, your gazes catching for a split second. God, you were gorgeous.
His nerves might have eased a tad, but his heart was still beating just as fast – if not more.

Manager!Seijoh Part 2
a/n: lmao this is kinda weird for me but i think this was an interesting request so lets try it!
for more seijoh content, check this masterlist out!
lowkey kyotani kentaro typa beat but you gotta squint (??)
also warning! angst!
anon request: Hii! I just read the seijoh manager headcannon you wrote, it made me cry so much, i love those seijoh boys so much, and you are such an amazing writer! I dont know if requests are open or not but i was wondering what would happen if the boys ever find out what happened to reader cha? If requests aren’t open or if you just don’t want to write about it, I completely understand! Thank you for your wonderful writing again! Stay safe!
Tumblr media
the stageplay was *chefs kiss* like MY MANS IWA WAS SERVING LOOKSSSS
soooooo
this might get really angsty idk so just a warning in advance
anyways
i mentioned in the earlier part that no one really knew what happened to you
so this one is when they DO find out what happened and what theyre gonna do about it
so first off, kyoken was basically the only one who saw you that day and saw how badly you looked
the thing is, at that current moment, he didnt really know the reason why and what happened
he had theories that you got jumped or you just got into an accident
but he was prettttttyyyy sure you got beat up
so you went home and rushed to yanno, take a shower and get your wound treated and cleaned so that it would heal bc you really cannot afford to let the boys see that
they would think of the worst at the smallest sight of blood on you and you really didnt want to deal w that chaos at the moment
you cant let them get suspended from school since they were going to interhigh soon and you cant let oikawa and the boys ruin their reputations just for you
a first year girl theyve just met
it was kinda hard to rinse all of the milk from your hair but you were able to at least get the smell out and clean up your mess
then you looked in the mirror and saw faint handprints around your throat from that girl miyo and you cringed as you touched it
‘jesus christ, seriously what does she eat? bricks?’
after your clothes were in the wash, you went to bed to get homework done and also looking up how to use the concealer to hide your bruises
you didnt really own any makeup but your mom has some so you could just use that
during dinner, you wore a turtleneck to prevent any suspicion from happening but you couldnt really hide the big gash on your face
‘y/n, what happened!’
‘i was dumb and accidentally fell up the stairs’
your parents shared a chuckle bc theyve actually seen you do this before so it was easy to believe the lie
‘darling, do we need to get you glasses? it seems your sight has worsened’
‘haha’
you went along with the joke but you weren’t eating and just pushed your food around
‘y/n? is the food not good?’
your mother asked but you shook your head with a convincing smile
‘its good! i just had some meat buns with the team earlier and i ate a lot so im still full’
you cursed at yourself for making it sound so rehearsed but you were relieved when your mother nodded
the next morning, you were satisfied with the reduced puffing of your face and you snuck into your parents bathroom where her makeup bag would be
as you held up the concealer, you started getting anxious because this was not the same shade as your skin and it would definitely raise suspicion if you had a different color on your neck than the rest of your body
you already planned to blame your wound as acne that you accidentally scratched but what were you going to do with the handprints?
the website you read said that it would take at least a day for them to fade
so you decided youd just wear a scarf and pretend you were cold
kunimi was confused as to why you had a scarf bundled around your neck and his eyes even widened at the sight of the bandaid on your face
‘y/n! what-!’
he shot up from his seat and your eyes widened before hissing at him to sit down
‘what happened to you?!’
he worriedly asked but you waved him off with a small smile
‘acne. this was the only available bandaid in my house so i had to work with this’
kunimi might be a lazy little shit but he was observant
and he noticed the way you said that sentence
it was like a robot
like a robot programmed to say what was written on its script
but before he could press on further, you already pointed out that the teacher was coming in and to hush so you could listen
the entire time, kunimi was awake alright, but he was too busy looking at you and a bright red thing that poked from the edge of your bandaid
kindaichi went to your classroom for lunch and you had to repeat your excuse for him but he pointed at another thing
‘why are you wearing a scarf? its like burning in here’
you didnt look at him as you just opened your bento
‘being in your period causes your temperature to fluctuate and cause unexplainable chill at even the hottest places’
okay what
they both shared a look and just shrugged, blaming it on your time of the month for the way you spoke with no emotion in your tone
this had to be the longest school day of your life
the whole time the scarf remained on and kunimi cant help but notice your flinches at the smallest of sounds
finally practice arrived and you really thought you could pull this off until oikawa barreled straight towards you and hugged you tightly
‘y/n-chan! you okay?! oikawa-senpai was so worried for you!’
you cringed but nodded
‘im okay, oikawa-san’
‘senpai, y/n-chan! call me senpai!’
‘im not going to feed into your kink, oikawa-san’
*cue everyone busting a lung*
‘y/n, what’s the-’
‘acne. only bandaid available in my house’
eventually, everything was fine
you were still cracking jokes w the others and you were still laughing w them so kunimi and kindaichi were at ease
but that shattered when oikawa was being oikawa and was being all touchy and bothering you about the scarf around your neck that he ended up pulling it off and he saw the marks
he was silent, just staring at them
ofc you were freaking out and you started breathing heavily
oh god he found out and he was going to hurt them
‘o-oikawa-senpai, listen, it’s not what it-’
‘y/n’
his voice made your eyes shut in fear and the others crowded around you and they all had scandalized looks on their faces
‘is this why you werent in practice yesterday?’
his voice was sharp, a complete opposite to his normally cheerful tone
you shivered and sighed
‘senpai, please dont-’
‘who is it?’
the other third years shared a look bc they were truly shook at oiks voice
‘w-why should i tell you?! its none-’
‘i am your captain and i deserve to know who is pulling you away from your managerial duties so he could just give you these damn hickeys!’
the gym turned silent
you stopped then furrowed your eyebrows
‘hickey? what-’
‘dont act like you dont know, y/n. so just be honest and tell me who’s your boyfriend’
lmao i shouldnt laugh bc this was supposed to be sad but im cackling at how dumb oikawa really is sometimes
‘i-i,,,,’
you stuttered but you knew this was the perfect opportunity
you could just blame it on this ridiculous misunderstanding
its a difficult hole to get out of but it would be easier than the other
so you pretended to be flustered and turned around to hide your face
‘it was a one-time thing, oikawa-san. i promise it wont happen again’
HELLO WHAT
the team was leaking the feeling of RAGE
how dare someone take their manager!
she was theirs!
and it doesnt help that every player might have a little thing for you
is this really turning into a harem
oikawa kept demanding answers but iwa hit him enough to quit and they finally went back to practicing but they were still distracted
every time they looked at you, they would grow flustered and red and end up missing a block or a serve
they just cant see their baby manager like that
you noticed it quickly and irritably got on them
‘stop staring at my neck and get back to practice!’
they flinched and saluted at you
lmao this little first year girl is able to control nearly a dozen <5′10 men who are all older than her
but you were glad that they finally stopped asking about it
this was going to go by smoothly and you were going to be okay
however,,,
several days later,,,
this is an angst fanfiction so i will bring thy angst
you were taking out your class garbage since it was your group’s turn in cleaning the classroom when you were grabbed by the arm on your way back
it was still outside and after school so it wouldve been an unlikely situation that someone would help you
it was that biatch miyo again and her 2 minions behind her
then you recognized one girl from the track team who was actually a year older than you but you saw her dropping off some files in the office
if you tried to run, she could easily grab you w her fast legs
great
you were stuck
you let out a tired sigh and crossed your arms on your chest
‘what is it you want from me, again?’
she smirked
‘you really dont know how to listen, do you? i told you to stay away from oikawa but youre still flaunting around with him!’
is she serious?
this girl was borderline stalker/yandere type of girl
you gave her an incredulous look and frowned
‘girl, do you hear yourself? you damn crazy and im leaving’
but she grabbed you back and shoved you against the wall
but this time, you kicked her on the chest to make her fall on her flat booty
surprise was written on their faces and you stretched your arms in front of you to symbolize distance
‘one more step and ill beat tf out of you. i just got my nails off so id watch it if i were you’
miyo huffed and stood up, brushing herself, glaring at one of the girls who tried to help her
then she remembered what you told her
‘hmm? if you hit me, you could be kicked off of the team since you hurt another student. so, go ahead, little kouhai’
she was right
even if it was self-defense, the school’s disciplinary section sucked and just suspended or kicked off people left and right even though they didnt do anything wrong
you were stumped
you were here on a scholarship, not on tuition
your mom would KILL you if she found out you got into a fight and got a record
but you didnt show that and kept your tough facade
‘dont challenge me. i could be a crazy bitch and i dont think youd like your little face being all messed up. so watch your mouth and leave me alone’
you turned to leave but she grabbed your hair and tugged it back
lmao flashbacks to the other part
she twisted your hair into a ponytail and had a firm grip while a girl kicked you behind your knees so you would fall to the ground
oh no you were done w this
you elbowed miyo on the stomach the hardest you could and she groaned which loosened her hold and you kicked her again to the ground
some other girl hit your side and you winced before slapping her straight across the face bc you didnt want to punch her and hurt your knuckles
but they were really testing you
the last girl still had your hair but you twisted around to face her and just did the last you could think of that would hurt
hit her right between her legs
you finally escaped their hold and miyo lunged after you
‘oh my god leave me alone!’
you yelled before holding up your arms to protect your face but she scratched your arms
obviously you were losing this bc it was just you but you were going to fight as much as you can
‘bad kouhais need to be punished! your senpais need to teach you a lesson!’
miyo screeched and you grabbed her arm before punching her straight at the boob
sorry rebecca
however, one girl was smart and did the same thing you did to her knees and made you fall to a kneeling position and eventually made you curl into a fetal position
gurl we actually fighting so hard considering we’ve never been in a fight
they continuously kicked you before miyo pulled up your head so you could sit up and kneel in front of her
ofc you tried to grab at her and punch at her
but these other girls were able to catch you and trap your arms in their hold and had their feet on your legs so you couldnt kick
great, another bathroom scene
your arms were bleeding from miyo’s scratches and your sides were hurting after their kicks
you lost and you were already bleeding in places you didnt think you would
this would be the last attempt and if he doesnt come, you’re done for
‘IIIIIIWWWWWAAAAAAAA-SAAAAAANNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!’
your scream echoed throughout the entire are
possibly could be heard in new york
and your voice became hoarse
ofc the girls were surprised and caught off guard but when there was silence and clear that no one was coming, they started laughing
‘oh, so cute! iwa-san? is that supposed to be iwaizumi-san? heh, you whoring around w him too? thats so cute-’
‘LET. GO. OF. HER. NOW.’
I GOT CHILLS
the girls holding you shrieked and dropped their hold on you before scrambling back causing you to drop to the ground
miyo’s eyes were wide and there was horror all over her face at the voice of that infamous boy
kyotani kentarou
‘WHAT THE FK ARE YOU DOING?!’
he yelled and miyo turned around to be met with his piercing eyes before screaming and running away with her minions in tow
‘YEA RUN AWAY! FKING COWARDS!’
ltr the cursing is so awkward for me to do but this is his character and im just so awkward so sorry!!
you coughed and winced at the pain on your side which caught his attention
again, he noticed you as the manager of their team and you’ve been hanging out w him, well, just him staring at you, at the alley while you feed the animals
you were actually nice and caring and definitely didnt deserve this
‘oi, y-you okay?’
you didnt look up, just closing your eyes in pain and biting your lips to not let out the crying
his eyes softened at you and he noticed you were trying to act tough and brave even though you just got beat up
normally, he wouldnt even help anyone but it seems you just did something to him
he sighed before gently picking you up, you not even bothering to stop him, and he held you tightlyin his arms as he carried you to the nurses office
he had a feeling you didnt want to be seen like this and hes been in the nurse enough to know she actually leaves the moment school ends
you let out a shaky breath as he set you down on the cot and you opened your eyes to reach your hold for him when he went away
‘n-no, don’t leave-’
but he grunted softly before holding your wrist
‘im just getting your damn medicine. chill out’
lowkey getting bakugou vibes
you nodded and went to close your eyes again
kyo returned w some pain relief medicine from his bag that he carries
babie actually gets into fights often and he needs it sometimes
and he had alcohol medicine kind istg and bandaids for your arms
it was silent as you drank the pills and he sat down next to you so he could treat the wounds
but he let his curiosity take over him
‘why the fk did you let them do this to you’
he grunted and you scoffed with a smile
‘let? more like overpower me and grip me as they just hit me’
‘cant you fight them back?’
you glared at him
‘bruh i literally kneed some girl in their cooch but they just some superhuman typa girls that cant be hurt’
he sighed
‘maybe you just werent strong enough’
okay listen here you lil shit
you didnt want to listen to him scold you anymore so you just went back to closing your eyes
but kyo is actually lowkey nosy so he kept asking questions
‘the first time we met. was it her too?’
you flinched in surprise
‘you remembered that?’
‘ofc i did. you looked like shit. not as bad as this but still like shit’
‘gee thanks, stranger-kun’
‘kyotani,,, kentarou’
you smiled
‘nice to meet you, kyotani kentarou. im l/n y/n’
‘i know’
he mumbled but you didnt catch it
‘thanks for hearing me and coming to help’
he hummed
he wasnt going to tell you that he actually heard the scream for his idol and thought hed be there so he ran to go see him but instead saw you
kyo just respects and looks up to iwa-chan so much it warms my heart uwu-
once you were all patched up, you were finally able to stand but you still staggered
he grabbed your arm softly and sat you back down
‘what the hell are you going to tell the team?’
you paused then sighed
‘i dont know. ill figure something out’
but he knew how observant the players would be and they would catch on
after all, he was there watching at the top bleachers as oikawa yelled at you for the ‘hickey’
‘if they didnt hit your face, you could get away with it. but you have wounds all over you and theyd find out. im guessing youre doing this bc you dont want to trouble them or burden them? bc they would do something about it?’
you just stared at this guy
‘how-’
‘just a guess’
he also wasnt going to tell you that he was actually part of the team but the constant fighting got him in suspension
and the fact that his parents were donors for the school, he only got a tap on the wrist
‘so what do i do, then?’
‘tell them-’
‘no i cant do that! another plan, kyo-kun!’
‘oi, im a second year, idiot. treat me with respect’
the irony bc he totally treats oikawa like trash
‘i just,,,, oikawa-san is seen as this prince/gentleman type and i know how protective he is towards me so the slightest problem could cause him to be ballistic. miyo is popular enough to circulate rumors about him and hes already in his third year and she is too so i just have to endure one year until theyre gone’
kyo was disgusted
all this for that stupid idiot captain?
‘youre dumber than i thought’
you weakly hit him at the arm
‘so mean, kyo-san’
‘i dont think its right youre suffering for someone who isnt even worth it’
you glared and linked your fingers together
‘im the manager. i knew this would happen the moment i signed up but i didnt care. as manager, i have to keep up the team’s image and their popularity for support so i cant let all that be ruined just bc a little first year girl couldnt fight for herself’
‘just tell them, kid. less problems’
then he stood up to leave
‘kid?! im only a year younger than you! what you mean!’
but you were panicking
someone knew about you being hurt and they could easily tell the team
and it only increased when he entered the gym and later introduced himself as a player
you were so surprised that you stopped breathing
‘kyo-san,,,’
you muttered and he glared at you
well, more like look at you but i have a theory that kyo actually has problems w his sight so it looks like he’s glaring at you constantly but hes just actually trying to see clearly
‘yo’
oikawa was surprised at this interaction
‘eh? you know kyoken-chan?’
you nodded, still looking at the blonde
‘i-uh’
‘its none of your business’
kyotani grunted and you sighed in relief
maybe your secret would be safe
you were still uneasy about him accidentally revealing it, especially since he practically worships iwaizumi-san, but he kept his mouth shut
your caring personality at first was overbearing on him but he appreciated your efforts like volunteering on helping him with his eyeliner or asking him if he needed help with his medical tape
ngl, he also thought you were there just bc it was a team full of guys and you thought you could have that weird girl fantasy of having a harem
but you cared for them like practically a mother and continuously made it clear to oikawa that you were NOT interested in going on a date with him
you werent annoying, you were nice, and you weren’t pushy so he actually showed you respect and took a liking to you
this created a soft of protectiveness around you
sometimes, he would see you around school and he would practically glare at the girls he knew hated you
and when he wasnt there to protect you, you would call him to the nurses office where he would mumble apologies of not being there while patching you up before he would go over and threaten them to touch you again and he would bite their fingers off
aww hes so cute
ofc he still kept your secret bc it wasnt his business to tell
until that one day
it was normal practice with you helping the boys toss the balls so they could spike it
iwaizumi spiked it really hard making you flinch and he apologized profusely after you almost fell off the chair you were standing on in surprise
‘im just angry that that damn shittykawa is the captain and is late to his own damn practice’
oikawa? late?
that was unheard of
you were about to get off the chair and look for him when the devil himself entered the gym with the devil’s mistress on his arm
miyo was holding on to his arm as he laughed at something she said and ruffled her hair
you dropped the ball and kyotani quickly moved to you so he could stand in front of you protectively
‘oi! shittykawa! youre late!’
oikawa just smiled and pointed at the girl
‘miyo-chan made us cookies, iwa-chan!’
at the mention of food, the boys ran forward but you and kyotani remained at the side at the infamous name
you got off the chair and hurriedly placed an arm in front of him
‘don’t, kyo-san’
‘the bitch-’
‘i know. but please, dont’
you begged and he huffed before aggresively wrapping an arm around your shoulder
aggressively cares for you
‘if she does something or even talks shit, i will-’
‘kyoken-chan! y/n-chan! come here!’
oikawa called but kyotani snarled at him
you smile wobbled when miyo’s eyes narrowed at you and she smirked
‘oh? your manager is so cute, oikawa-kun!’
the rest of the team was just blinking at this weird tension
kyo had his arm tightly around you and hatingly glaring at this girl, who was icily smirking at you, and you tightly holding kyo’s shirt with a worried glint in your eyes
‘you were late to your own damn practice, oikawa. stop wasting time eating this shit and go back to playing’
tbh it still shocks you at how rudely kyo talks to oikawa but you were too pre-occupied on making sure this kid wasnt going to lunge at this girl
‘a-ah, right. oikawa-san, we have to return to practice. if you excuse us, miyo-san-’
you were about to gently grab oikawa’s arm to bring him back when she grabbed your wrist and secretly gripped it
‘oh, dont be so uptight, y/n-chan! i worked so hard-’
but kyo immediately snatched her hand away from you and squeezed it as tight as he could, making her wince
oikawa noticed the pain in miyo’s face and he was angry that kyotani was hurting a girl
‘oi! kyotani!’
he shouted and pushed him away, making the team, even iwa, worriedly look at kyo and brace themselves for the beating
iwa jumped into action and held the second year back while you jumped in front of oikawa
‘kyo-san, calm-’
‘you! be quiet’
he shouted, finger pointing at you
‘and you!’
before pointing to oikawa
‘you are a shitty captain’
‘kyotani!’
iwa was just straight out confused and hes really questioning life decisions right now
mom is stressed and confused, i repeat, MOM IS STRESSED AND CONFUSED
oikawa’s eyes narrowed but he just calmly talked
‘we’ll talk about this later’
‘miyo-san, we really need to practice so if you could see yourself out’
iwa gently smiled to the girl, who was about to protest, but makki and mattsun has already pointed to the door
she huffed then turned to leave and once she was gone, iwa let go of kyotani
‘kyotani, what the hell was that’
oikawa lowly asked and you were about to put your arms out to separate them but yahaba and watari grabbed you so you wouldnt be caught in the middle
then kyo turned to you, fire in his eyes
‘either you tell him or i will’
can we just talk about how protective kyo is?
you trembled and you roughly left yahaba and watari’s grip so you could gently place your hands on his chest
‘please, kyo. just leave it, okay? remember, it’s my busi-’
‘if i see that bitch enter this gym again, i dont give a flying fuck if shes a girl. ill beat the living daylights out of her’
‘kyotani kentarou, what-!’
oikawa shouted but your glare shut him up
‘y/n-chan, what is going on’
‘n-nothing. kyo-san is just, yknow, being him. you know? okay. now lets get back to practice, everyone!’
coach irihata and the other guy sharing that look
to say the least, miyo was pissed
and when she was pissed at you, she always did what she normally does
she corners you wherever its deserted and beat you with the help of her minions who holds you down while she slaps, hits, or kicks you
girlie you needs to tell the boys youre literally getting hit and abused and im just-!!!!!!!!!
and thats exactly what she did
only this time, she wore hard-tipped shoes
‘see, y/n-chan? i saved up and got these shoes just for you!’
the minions were just sharing looks of fear and genuine sympathy for you
they were only there bc she blackmailed them with pictures doing questionable things and if they dont help, they would be released
as usual, you didnt cry, biting your lip as you winced from the pain of her kick at your side
‘youre so pathetic. how could you do this to a person? and all this for your oikawa-san? for a boy?’
you wheezed at her causing her eyes to flare
‘HAH?! SAY THAT AGAIN!’
‘i said-’
but you were cut off when she slapped the soul out of you
her ring cut you at the lip and you cringed at the taste of blood from your lip
‘what else? we gotta hurry this up, miyo, because practice started like 5 minutes ago and im going to get yel-’
‘SHUT UP!’
kyotani entered the gym after his talk with his teacher and immediately looked around for you
his honey brown eyes scanned the area and they widened as your figure wasn’t in sight
‘oi, yahaba, wheres the manager’
the boy shrugged from the side
‘i dont know. shes late though’
oh god
‘kindaichi! kunimi! youre in the same grade right? did you see where she went after class?’
kunimi paused to remember before answering
‘she stayed after to talk to obe-sensei for the homework, that’s all i know’
that meant she stayed behind and was probably somewhere
‘SHIT!’
he shouted before bolting out the door
ofc the boys were all worried of his outburst and started yelling after him
‘kyotani!’
‘kyoken-chan?!’
they followed him, who was running as fast as he can
the girls would probably do it outside to avoid having to clean up their mess and he almost wrenched the door open in a hurry to take a lap around the school building
it was certainly a sight to see: a boy with dyed blonde hair and two brown lines followed after an entire volleyball team who were screaming after him
‘YOU-!’
he heard that bitch voice and bolted towards the back, where the dumpster was, and found you at the same position like the first time he saw you
blood was dripping on the floor from your busted lip and a cut on your cheek while your eyes were wide at the sight of kyotani’s panting form
‘kyo-!’
‘kyotani!’
your eyes watered at the sight of the entire volleyball team behind him, also eviqualiently surprised yet fuming angry
the girls who held you dropped your arms and ran for the hills so they wouldnt get caught
kyo pushed miyo aside as he grabbed you from the floor and held you
oikawa gave miyo a look that cannot even be described in words
all it was: incredibly, super, ridiculously, heatedly, furiously, angry
now multiply that by the entire team
‘hm, my father, who is the chieftain of the police, mentioned about there being jail time for even minors who commit serious acts like assault or bullying’
mattsun seethed
‘really? i think he’d like the video as evidence against kenta miyo for assault and battery, including bullying, so how many years would that add up to? nearly a decade?’
the girl miyo squeaked as oikawa and iwaizumi roughly grabbed each wrist
‘how long’
miyo trembled at the increased pressure on her wrist
‘IM ASKING YOU A FUCKING QUESTION! HOW LONG!’
iwaizumi has never shouted at a girl before and hopefully, it would be the last
‘s-s-since l-last month’
you burrowed your head in kyotani’s shirt
‘please dont’
‘shut the fk up, y/n-chan, we’re not talking to you right now’
oikawa coldly reprimanded
‘everyone, take y/n away. iwaizumi and i can take care of this. but mattsun, makki, track down those 3 girls and find others who have even touched our manager’
‘got it, boss’
if it was in a different situation, you wouldve applauded oikawa at his ability to be a leader but you were currently in pain from the bruises and the cuts all over you
your fellow first-years were angrily punching things in the nurse’s office
rip nurse in the morning when she finds holes all over her walls
the irony is, the most agressive one, kyotani kentarou, was the calmest as he quietly cleaned your wounds and placed ointment on the bruises
‘i told you so’
he mumbled and you scoffed
‘howd you find me anyways?’
‘dumb bitch yaps really loud’
he answered
no one was yelling at you and no one was saying a word
eventually, oikawa and iwaizumi entered followed by the rest of the third years
‘why. why didnt you tell us, y/n?’
oikawa asked as he sat down on the chair beside the bed
you looked down and fiddled with your fingers
‘if i did, you wouldve hurt her. and she wouldve spread rumors about you and ruin the image and reputation of the grand king and the volleyball team. i didnt want to do that to you and thought i could just endure it one year since youre graduating anyways’
iwaizumi sucked in a harsh breath
‘you wouldn’t have known what we were going to do. you are no oracle and you dont know how we are going to handle this situation. so you were really stupid for keeping these things to yourself, y/n. you may be our manager and our caretaker but let us take care of you too’
you nodded but your tears fell
‘sorry. im really sorry. i didnt meant to trouble you’
‘stop apologizing, y/n’
‘sorry’
‘y/n!’
you bowed your head low and bit your lip in guilt
‘i shouldve told you but i didnt and now everyone is troubled-’
‘we’re a team, y/n. youre not a lone wolf anymore. you have a pack standing right beside you’
watari mumbled and he sat down to give you his favorite hug: the one arm hug
‘im super angry right now and it might seem like im snappy but i really want you to know, y/n, that i really love you and i am just hurt that you didnt trust us enough to tell us you were suffering when i trust you with my entire being. so next time youre hurting or in pain, dont you dare keep it to yourself. tell us, okay? tell your senpais and friends about it so we can share that burden’
oikawa babie you are so mature like what-
what started out as a hug from watari turned into a team hug around the tiny bed, even kyo joined, and you were so happy you found a good team that appreciated you and everything youve done and accepted you as one of their own
‘oikawa-san, what did you do to miyo?’
‘again, im mad y/n-chan, so please dont talk about her right now’
‘iwa-san?’
‘dont use those puppy eyes on me! dont you dare-- okay, we’re pressing charges’
silence
‘WHAT?!’
‘and iwa-chan slapped her!’
‘WHAT?!’
‘shut up shittykawa you did too!’
‘WHAT?!’
a/n: this hurted a bit and im sorry if this was lowkey awkward and all over the place but i didnt exactly know how to portray this situation since ive never experienced this, just bullying in general, before but for those who have, please tell someone so that you dont have to carry that burden by yourself. it doesnt have to be a your parents, but talk to a trusted adult so that this type of stuff doesnt happen to you bc you truly dont deserve that type of treatment and deserve to be happy and feel safe in an environment like school or anywhere in general

Anon requested for:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A busy afternoon in your life, you grab your phone and text your boyfriend, Marco.
14:54. You > Oi babe, are you busy today?.  15.30. Dr.M > Hey darling, I’m having a big surgery in about an hour, I don’t know much is going to take, but whenever I’m out I’ll txt you. Love you!.
Again, your partner, one of the best doctors in town is busy. You don’t blame him, but you haven’t seen him in almost a week, and besides your heart, your skin misses him more than anything. You’ve been dreaming about getting railed by him for the last two days, you know you need him.
“I should get back to work”, you say to yourself, trying to forget how needy for him you are. And the afternoon passes, and there is no text from Marco.
Your coworkers invite you for some drinks after work and you just accept, because deep down you know you aren’t going to meet with your boyfriend tonight either.
After some beers, a notification pops up on your phone screen. “It’s him”, you tell your friend showing her the phone. “I have an idea, don’t just go straight to the point…”, she says to you. “What do you mean?”, you ask confused. “Well, you should tease him little by little, until he gets so needy for you that he has no other choice than leaving everything aside, and fuck you”, she says with an evil grin. You both laugh out loud and enjoy the rest of the evening.
While walking home, what your friend has told you at the bar, begins to replay in your brain. “She might be right, I should make him want me…”, you think while opening the door.
Once inside, you text Marco back just to tell him you got home safe, but he doesn’t answer. He is probably asleep
already. You pass out on your bed thinking the best ways to tease him… photos?, texts?, visiting him?... you set up a plan that wish it works.
06:30 Dr.M > Morning baby. I’m sorry about yesterday. We’ve been very busy lately. I promise I’ll compensate for it.
07:45 You > Good morning, it’s ok. You know… I dreamt about you, about us.
07:48 Dr.M > What did you dream of?
07:49 You > Something I wish I could be doing to you, now... But right now, I’m a little late for work. I’ll text you later. Love you. Mwah.
07:51 Dr.M > I wonder what it is… have a nice day at work. Love u.
You are determined to slowly rise up the heat, from day to night, but subtly. “That will do”, you think, and let your phone aside, sure that letting Marco on read could make a difference.
Your day at work got super busy, so you barely had time to grab your phone. You wonder sometimes about your beloved, but your attention is instantly drawn to your tasks. At lunch you have a little more time and take your phone, Marco has sent you a text asking if you have already eaten. This is a good chance for you to tease him, so you decide to follow the next stage of your plan. Today, you’ve chosen to wear a pencil skirt that allows the skin of your thighs to show, so you take a photo of your lunch over your legs. You were just commenting about the food, but there is no way he wouldn’t get to see one of his favourite parts of your body.
07:51 Dr.M > Yummy! Enjoy your meal, babe. By the way, love that skirt.
 “Good, he noticed the skirt”, you think to yourself while eating the little sandwich and think about what’s next.
The working day is coming to an end, and you get a phone call from your boyfriend. He tells you that this weekend the hospital would have a charity banquet, and if you want to come with him. Of course, you accept immediately, not only because you want to be with him, but also because you just love parties.
After leaving work, you head directly to a dress shop, and as you try the perfect one for the party, you know this is an opportunity for teasing him you won’t let pass.  You pick the sexiest red dress in the store, and head to the dresser.
The dress shows your back perfectly until the start of your bottom. Little straps hold a cowl neckline and it also has a deep slit on the left side of the skirt, so you can show your leg.
Posing on the mirror of the dresser, showing your back, and leg you snap a picture and send it to him. Luckily he answers right away.
18:02 You > What do you think babe? I like this dress for the banquet.
18:03 Dr.M > Damn… I love it. You look like a goddess, you know?.
 You couldn’t be happier about his reaction, so you buy the dress and head home.
After taking a shower, and still covered with only a towel you video call Marco. This is just another step of the plan, and somehow you just love it. He is still at the hospital, but you don’t care. You want him to wish he wasn’t there.
Your lover picks up and after realizing you were practically naked, stunned, he covers the screen with his big skilled hands. “Babe, I’m alone at my office but… are you naked?”, he says a little bit agitated. “I am, but a towel is covering me. I just miss you, wanted to see your pretty face after a hot shower”, you say pouting with a suggestive tone. “I - I miss you too, babe…”, he says while he seems to worship the image of you on his phone screen. “I wish you were here…” you confess to him while rolling your eyes back. “I wish I was there too, baby… aren’t you cold?”, he says now and you can sense how his voice becomes a little bit cracked. You recognize this is an amazing opportunity to keep up with your plan, so you say, “I am, yes. Give me a sec, I’m going to put my robe on”.
You stood up from bed, put your phone over your dresser so Marco could still see you and let your towel fall to the floor, leaving your body completely exposed to him. “Babe…” he gasps, and you just giggle.
You watch how he pushes himself far from the desk, laying his back over the chair backrest, letting you admire his torso, and of course, his crotch. A bulge is shown in his scrubs pants, and he slowly slides a hand there.
“Dr Marco, it’s an emergency, they need you in trauma”, a voice resonates in his office, and he quickly lifts his hands, covering the screen and camera from his phone. “Oh, yeah I’ll be right there”, he says, trying to hide the arousal he was experiencing.
Annoyed, but not mad at him, throw your robe on and wait for him to come back to the call. “I’m sorry babe, I’m really sorry”, he says, mortified. “It’s ok doc, we can continue later. See you tomorrow, love you”, you tell him, a little bit sad, but still showing how much you want him.
After dinner, you go to bed, replaying the memories of his sweet anatomy and how you wished you'd seen him jacking off to your body at the office. Yet, you know tomorrow is the big party, and you have better plans than just making him touch himself over the phone.
Another busy day of work passes and you are finally at home getting ready for the big event. You know how much he likes when you use that specific perfume with citric hints of orange and a little bit of pineapple, so you spray it all over you. The red dress you bought yesterday flows sexy over your skin, and you are ready to make tonight, a night of a lifetime.
Marco is waiting for you outside in his car, you make him wait just for a few minutes. He knows you will be using that dress, and he wants to see you wearing it right now, but you want him to crave for it, so you just text him with a “Give me a sec”.
When you finally open the door, you let your keys fall to the ground. In order to pick them up, you first make sure he is watching and then bend down, lifting your dress subtly from the slit of the skirt.
Acting as if nothing happened, you hop in his car, and kiss his cheek. “Hello doc, I missed you”. You see how Marco watches you from top to bottom, slightly stopping at the slit on the skirt, admiring how your thigh spreads a little once you are sitting.
After allowing Marco to enjoy for some seconds your skin, you step up, and cross your legs. A fire on his sleepy eyes ignites, and somehow you just adore to make him heat up.
But your blond hot doctor is not the only one who is getting hot in there, you certainly are too. He looks so perfect, formally dressed with a black suit. You wished he’d stop driving, and take you right there, in the middle of the street. You just don’t care. But you wait…
When you finally arrive at the charity event, everybody turns their head to admire the young successful doctor Marco and his perfect girlfriend. Some wishing they were Marco, others, you. But everybody is amazed by how powerful and pretty you both are.
You are greeted by Marco's colleagues and are invited to sit on your corresponding table. They serve you gourmet plates made by a famous chef called Vinsmoke Sanji.
A show starts, a magician makes entertaining tricks on the scenery, and everybody including Marco is enjoying the show. You suddenly had the idea of teasing your boyfriend a little bit more, so you subtly slide a hand over his lap, caressing it faintly. You notice how his muscles react instantly to the soft touch of your hand over his black trousers. He looks at you, but you don’t look back at him, you simply keep enjoying the magic show.
He then places his hand over yours, and slowly interlocks fingers. He makes your hand move up, closer to his groin. You can feel how hard he is with the side of your hand. Deep down you wished to touch him, but you want him to burn in desire, so you slowly lift your hand up, and grab your cup of red wine. He sighs soundly. “I’m going to tease until it hurts how much you want to fuck me, Marco”, you thought with an evil grin on your face.
The show is over, and an auction starts in order to raise funds for charity. Every rich person there starts to push. You just maintain quiet, you are not as rich as them, but Marco on the other hand... He places a bid for some paintings and you just wait.
The auction comes to an end, and the organizers announce that the guest can pass to the dancing saloon if they want. Of course you want, you know there is where the next stage of your plan will take place.
You grab Marco’s hand and walk to the next saloon. Lights are now down low and the music starts to play. You both start slow dancing, your bodies closer to each other, Marco’s hand placed on your back, and the other over your waist. You pass your hands on the back of his neck. You move slowly, sexy, rubbing your stomach against his, while looking up at his eyes with an inviting sight. Getting drunk on the smell of his manly perfume, you remember how much you love and desire his body.
He places a soft kiss over your lips, that you accept gratefully. Your lower stomach feels how a hard bulge is forming once again on Marco’s groin, and you just can’t take it anymore, you need him. And he needs you too. But the music stops, and now it’s time for dessert, so you both walk back to your seats.
A sweet chocolatey dessert is served. You are delighted, he is too. You grab a piece of cake and devour it from the little spoon, slowly moving it on your mouth while looking straight to his eyes. He gasps, he is suffering. It must be painful to hide, to hold back how much you want to fuck someone surrounded by your colleagues and people in general. His manhood is probably hurting from the pressure the pants are making over it. He needs you; you can see it in his eyes.
You place the silver spoon over your lips for an instance and giggle. Once you finish your cake, you stand up, pass your hand all over his back, from one shoulder to the other, and slowly bend over him to approach his ear. “I need to use the toilet…”, you say to him with an inviting tone.
As you walk to the bathroom you can feel his piercing gaze over your body, and you know he got the message.
You wait for him, and a few minutes after and a quick scan of the place to ensure nobody was watching, he grabs you by your throat and pushes inside of one of the bathroom stalls.
“I can’t take it anymore, I just need to fuck you right here, babe”, he says to you while kissing your neck desperately, pushing your back against the cold marble walls of the toilet.
None of you can wait, no place for foreplay, you want him to penetrate you right now. He slides his hand under your dress by the slit of the skirt discovering you are not wearing any panties. That only makes him even more aroused. He unbuckles his belt, and lets his pants fall to the floor, revealing his big erect member.
You bite your lower lip, grinning. Marco lifts his white shirt, so you can admire his well-defined abs and the tattoo that garnishes his chest with that blue ink. Next you know is him lifting your leg, and penetrating you with a hard thrust, deep inside you. An intense pounding that sends you to heaven, both of your heartbeat accelerating, losing control of your breathing.
You two finally reach climax, and let him impregnate you with all of his warm juices. He groans, “Oh baby girl, you don’t how much I needed you, one of these days you are going to kill me”.
And you smile, because you know that your plan was a success… ♥

15 April
“You’re going to invite her in, and take her to her room. I don’t care what you have to say about it, son, you’re doing it.” Jeno’s father finally finished his words, looking over at his son with an annoyed expression on his face. “This is for their family and ours, don’t be selfish and get on with it.”
Jeno scoffed, leaning forward with his elbows resting on his knees. “Oh, I’m gonna be selfish, I just find it so fucking hilarious that you decided to let a girl from our rival clan inside of our damn house. And what’s even funnier is that I’m engaged to her. Really fucking ideal, Father, seriously. I’m loving it so much.”
The sarcasm in his voice didn’t fail to burn searing holes into his father’s skin, making him sigh at his teenage son’s resistance. “Stop complaining and get out of my office. I don’t care what you have to say about it, son, you are getting married to her. It’s already been signed off completely.”
He rolled his eyes, running a hand through the light colored hair. “I don’t even understand why we need another girl in our house; we have enough. What’s so fucking great about her that you wanted her here so fast?”
“We just—need her.”
Jeno looked up at his father’s words, his eyes half closed with absolutely no amusement in them at all. “What the fuck is that supposed to mean? If she’s a Park, we don’t need her.” His father’s head was down, pretending to look through papers that were on his desk. “Father—”
“Get out of my office, Jeno.”
Tumblr media
You were currently standing in the lobby of NCT Lee’s mansion, which was surprisingly glittering with jewels and riches that you knew they could have never gotten without their illegal antics. Well, you leaned against your luggage, smirking as you looked up at their diamond-encrusted chandelier, none of us could be living such a luxurious life without murder.
“Park Y/N,” a voice came from beside you, startling you a bit as you slowly looked to the side. You didn’t show your surprise, at least, not when your eyes fell upon the man standing in front of you. “I have to say in all my time here, you are the first Park to enter this house without a fight.”
He was handsome, you acknowledged as you looked him up and down, your eyes stopping momentarily on the velvet choker fastened around his neck, probably the most good-looking guy you had seen in—a long time. But something, judging from the way he was looking at you, told you that this wasn’t the man you were forcibly engaged to.
“That’s a shame,” you answered, watching the man check you out immediately, licking his lips as he trailed up your body. You could’ve laughed in pride at the way he was basically eye-fucking you, but instead, you moved forward, standing in front of him. “I must be a pretty first, then.”
His eyes met yours, the gleam of his colored contacts bouncing into yours as you stared back. As he moved a step forward, his hand stretching out as if to receive you, there was a loud call that broke him out of his trace, making him look to side in annoyance.
“Taeyong,” the call was loud, almost as if of a young boy’s, making you look over in caution. It was, yet another, attractive man walked towards the two of you, holding a straight posture that made him appear taller than he was. “Father wants to talk to you in his office, he said it’s important.”
The man hummed, looking from him to you, and then bit his lip slightly. “This is Park Y/N, Mark. She’s here for her first day as Lee. I was going to escort her to her room, but it seems I have other commitments right now. You don’t mind, do you? Escort the lady to where she belongs?”
“Just go Taeyong,” Mark sighed, glancing over at you for a brief moment. “Don’t keep him waiting, he’s been looking for you all day and he’s not happy. Hurry up before he kills someone else.”
The man rolled his eyes, giving you a wink as he walked away, the chains on his dark jeans clashing against each other to give an attractive noise. You watched as he walked away, chuckling slightly from the way he clearly wanted to ‘escort you’ to your room. It wouldn’t have been much of a distance anyway, considering he looked at you like he could take you against a wall in less than a second.
“I’m Mark,” the man beside you held out his hand, his actions being much different from the earlier. “That was Taeyong, assuming that he didn’t introduce himself in the first place. Jeno was actually supposed to be here for your arrival, but since he isn’t, I guess it’s me.”
You scrunched your face at the sound of your fiancee’s name, which sounded familiar when it rolled off his tongue. Taking his hand, you gave it a short shake before asking him, “Who’s Jeno?”
Mark blinked, “My brother, the one that you’re engaged to? Right? Or are you not Park Y/N? Because I’m pretty sure Park Y/N is engaged to my brother.”
Oh, shit. I forgot his name already. You chuckled slightly, looking away from his awkwardly. “Yeah, that’s me. Kinda just learned I was getting married to him—like—yesterday so—” Jeno, Jeno, okay that’s not that hard. Je-no.
He seemed to understand your struggle, or he was just really good at pretending that he understood, since he nodded frantically at your statement. A few moments later, Mark finally took you up to your room, which seemed to be a little more of a maze than you expected.
NCT Park was a high class clan, that was something you knew. You all were able to dish into the black market and purchase expensive items at such a price you would never have gotten if you lived a normal life. The vases were made from pure gold, and the handmade clothing made from silk. It was a beautiful sight for anyone to see if they ever entered the palace of a house.
But NCT Lee was higher, and it was something you knew, but you hadn’t expected so much. They were at the aristocratic class, one of the highest of all you had ever seen. You could tell from their weapons; the way your eyes drooled at the sight of rubies on their blades and precious metals on the triggers of the rifles. And this mansion, was beyond one you had ever seen.
Mark, you learned on your way through this house, was a friendly person. Well, he really seemed like he liked to talk. His words were welcoming, however, a little different from what you had expected when you entered the house in the first place, but you didn’t mind it. It seemed that he looked past your status as a Park, or looked at you more as if you were a human.
“Anyway,” the two of you finally stopped in front of a door at the end of a huge hallway, one that didn’t seem to have any other rooms other than random doors you were a confused. “This is your room. You have a personal servant, by the way, she’s usually two doors down. There’s a speaker in there if you want anything, and she’ll bring it to you.”
You could’ve gasped at the sound of the word ‘servant’ flowing through your mind, but instead you widened your eyes. It was safe to say that your family did not have anything of the sort, other than the chefs and maids. Personal servants, that was a bit new to you, and not to mention, it startled you from the level of their class.
He left shortly after that, telling you that Jeno should be there soon enough to introduce himself to you, considering he had avoided it in the first place. You finally let yourself into the room, one that seemed a little massive for a bedroom, but decent enough to accommodate you.
And so the challenge began.
Tumblr media
Jeno hadn’t expected an empty room when he bottled up the annoyance of his arranged marriage and went to visit you; and he sure didn’t expect your personal servant telling him that you had decided to go to their training room.
The first thing that went through his mind when he stormed off to the training room was ‘a Park shouldn’t be able to do as they pleased in the Lee palace’ but it soon turned to ‘she should’ve at least waited to meet me.’
But something that didn’t seem to go through him mind when he entered the room, was the fact that maybe you had also not wanted to get married. It would’ve been an easy way to blame, which was his exact plan. However, you weren’t about to let that happen.
The Lee training room was different than the Park’s, smaller in size as they had multiple rooms depending on what training they wished to do. You, however, were currently in training clothes, practicing your knife throwing skills in the corner.
Jeno tried to compete with just his eyes, watching as you held the blade with caution before you sent it hurling through the air. It landed dead in the center, perfectly straight as he blinked in disbelief.
You clicked your tongue at your outcome, cocking your head sideways as if you had just missed by a hair. But in reality, you could feel the eyes of someone else on you, and as much as you wanted to hurl a knife at them, you kept your calm. If it’s another one of their boys that’ll ogle at me, might as well try and scare them away.
However, the moment you heard steps of a person from close behind you, you quickly swiped from behind, tripping them in response. You grabbed the other knife from your hand, enclosing your fingers around the shaft as you turned around.
Even though you had no clue who it was, you took a seat on the man’s chest, leaning yourself close over him to make sure he saw how close the knife was to his face. He watched with wide eyes, struggling to stand up from the way you were intricately positioned on him.
“You want to stare at me some more?” you offered, pricking your finger with the blade lightly to show how sharp it really was. “Because you can loose an eye as a complement.”
Jeno managed to grab your ankles, yanking you forward to pull you off him and onto the ground instead. He stood up at the same time as you, giving you an odd look. “Didn’t know Parks were that fucking crazy.”
You chuckled unhumorously at the statement, sucking the cut in your finger that was already forming a clot before rolling your eyes. “Don’t worry, I’m a special one. Everyone’s always got their filthy eyes on me.”
“Filthy? What made you think I was even looking at you? I literally walked up with zero intention to maim but you’re already making it a lot harder than it should be—”
“Goddamn, you talk a lot,” you commented, skimming the man from head to toe. “Which Lee are you? The one that wanted me to marry one of your people because you thought I’d be a nice sex slave? I’m hoping you are.”
Your words were full of fire, definitely the opposite of what he expected when he walked into the room. It was different, different from how his sisters sat pretty and pure like statues of virtue as a breeding ground, while you seemed to be a female—fighter?
Jeno was always told the Parks were different, so completely opposite from the Lees that it made them unfit to enter the higher status that they were already in. All he had expected for you, just like the Lee girls, was for you to be sitting at the end of your bed, reading a book or doing something that was stereotypically ‘feminine.’ And god, he had expected you to be obedient, a listener to his words.
“Staring at me some more,” you snarled, rolling your eyes again as you stepped forward, knife twirling in hand as you did. “Have you never seen a woman before? Everyone in your household seems to be like that, but I can’t take out all of their eyes. Yours look pretty inviting, however.”
Jeno took a step back, holding out his hand as if to stop you. “Shut up and put the knife down, stop being stupid. We have women in our house you know, they aren’t a rare species.”
You scoffed at his remark, crossing your arms. “You can stand in front of the target and I can practice; you’ll see how great my knife skills are till your death.”
“Do you even know who I am?”
“Why should I?” you cocked an eyebrow up, pursing your lips. “All you Lees think you’re so high and mighty, but you all end up sounding so full of yourselves. Most of the time, people introduce themselves instead of assuming everyone already knows who they are.”
Jeno was left speechless to that, never having been spoken to by a woman so—harshly before. It was weird, but it fueled him to want to win as you rested your hands on your hips, still looking at him as you waited for an answer. “I’m Jeno.”
“Very nice,” you commented, scanning him once more. This is supposed to be my fiancee? Damn, no wonder he looked at me like that. “I’m sure you know who I am, I’m the only one of my kind here. Now, if you’ll let me go back to practicing.”
“No. You’re coming with me.”
Tumblr media
After Jeno had (forcefully) taken you to the lobby of the palace, he had very unsuccessfully attempted to establish some rules in place. Rules that he thought would be hurting enough to make you run crying back to your Park family, but you honestly could care less about his words.
You had sat on a velvet covered sofa as he spoke, barely paying attention as he went on and on about not caring about marriage or engagement. It made you think, for a very slight moment, what the rest of the household would do if you pulled out your knife and stabbed him right then and there.
“Park?” He snapped his fingers in front of your face, gaining your annoyed attention. “Are you even fucking listening to me?”
“You sound like a child, Lee,” you leaned back in the chair, looking at the ceiling. It was decorated with jewels all around the rimming of the walls, making the room shimmer. “Telling me I shouldn’t leave my room, tsk, do I look like a toddler to you? Or should I break your arm as a lesson?”
Jeno sighed at your words, realizing that there was no way he couldn’t keep you from wandering about the house. But he shook his head, clapping to grab your attention again. “No, Park, we’re taking you on a mission tomorrow.”
Your ears perked up at the word ‘mission,’ and your eyes narrowed back down on the handsome man. “Mission?”
“My father insisted that you join us this time,” he crossed his legs, mimicking your positioning. “But only this once, he doesn’t like to see women out of the house.”
“Excuse me?”
“And out of all women, you are the one I’m engaged to,” he groaned, throwing his head back at your defensive stance. “Nothing seems to get through that thick head of yours, huh, Park? What the hell are you doing here anyway?”
You had enough of Jeno’s back and forth conversation, not even fully understanding what he ever truly meant because his teenager-like mind kept him babbling like he was talking to himself. Rolling your eyes, you leaned over, delivering a sharp slap to his thigh.
“I’m here because your lewd family took their chance at seeing women outside of the bedroom,” you snarled. “I’m here because someone inside this marvelous house thought that I was a perfect snack for them to feast on, so they sent a letter to the head and asked for me to come and fulfill their pleasures. I’m here because I’m thinking of my family before myself, and I am the reason we are all not infiltrating your hideouts right now.”
You stood up, turning on your heel to walk away before you looked back at the man’s shocked face, watching you with confused eyes. “I am not here for you, Lee. I am not here for anyone else in the house, and I am most certainly not here for me.”
“I am here for my people, my clan. I am a Park, and loyalty is before anything.”

Amsterdam with Matthew.
Tumblr media
A/N: Hi everyone, another Matthew fic for you all! This came about when I was talking to @hercleverboy and @gubetube a while ago, and just had to fic it!
My requests for both Matthew and Spencer Reid are open!
Trigger warnings:  Smoking (weed), drinking (alcohol), swearing, sex references/dirty talk.
“Gube, we need a holiday.” You say to your boyfriend one evening, as you cook dinner. Last night Matthew made you lasagne, using the recipe Joe gave him and tonight you are cooking a chicken curry. “I love spending time with you, but I just need a week with my favourite human where I’m not drowning in my University work.”
Matthew smiled at you as he set the table in his apartment and went over to wrap his arms around your waist pulling you into a cuddle. “Where do you fancy peach?” He asked as you leant up to kiss him which he gladly accepted.
“Hmm. I’d like to go to Amsterdam, do some touristy stuff, but also get stoned.” You giggle.
“We’ve already got stoned before muffin, how will this be different?” Matthew asked as you stir the saucepan.
“Because it’s legal there.” You say wiggling your eyebrows
“Amsterdam it is.” Matthew smiled, “How long for dinner?”
“10 minutes.” You smile
“Perfect, gives me time to start looking at places to stay and book flights.” Matthew says grabbing his computer.
“How did I get so lucky?” You thought to yourself and put the rice on to cook.
“Thanks for dinner boo.” Matthew smiled putting his bowl down. “You’re the best chef.”
You smile, “You’re welcome Gube.” And get up putting everything in the dishwasher. “Do you fancy a drink?” You ask
“Can I have a glass of red wine please?” He asks as you nod pouring him one and getting yourself a cider out of the fridge. “You want cuddles?”
“Of course, what kind of girlfriend would I be if I didn’t want cuddles from you?” You chuckle and walk to the sofa.
“You didn’t want any last week when we were at your flat.” Matthew pouts as he makes grabby hands for the wine and for you to cuddle into.
“I had cramps and wanted to be a burrito of sadness.” You say handing him his drink.
Matthew nodded, “But cuddles help.” He says sipping his drink
“My mood swings don’t.” You say. “I hate them, one minute everything is rainbows and unicorns, one minute everything is hell on earth.”
“Aww, my poor little burrito.” Matthew pouted as you snuggled into his arms and started kissing your forehead gently.
“I’m okay now Gube. I just don’t like objectifying my hatred of the world on anyone.” You smile up at him.
“Babe, I have a mother and a sister. I’ve seen it all.” Matthew assured you.
You nod sipping your drink as Matthew put his laptop on your lap and you started to book your holiday.
Two weeks later, you and Matthew arrive into Amsterdam.
“Thanks for letting me stop to chat to my fans, or should I say our fans? They love you!” Matthew smiled, carrying your suitcase and you carried the rucksacks.
“They’re just being polite.” You say, looking down.
“Nuh-uh sunshine. They chatted to you for ages about us.” Matthew smiled, “And you chatted to them whilst I had some stuff to sign.”
You smile, Matthew’s fans totally adore you two, even though you’re not famous, his fans love that you’re just a normal person like them, and you are happy with that. “I guess they do love me, but I know someone who loves me more.”
Matthew gasps dramatically, “Who?”
You giggle going on your tiptoes and kiss his lips softly, “You idiot.”
You arrive into your AirBnB for the week and slump on the sofa, tired from the flight.
“I’m going to take a shower love bug.” Matthew says getting his toiletries out.
“Okay. I’m going to try to stay awake and find us something for dinner. What do you fancy to eat?” You ask looking at your boyfriend lovingly.
“You.” Matthew winked
“Gube!” You say nudging his arm and blushing.
“You didn’t complain last night.” Matthew shrugged. “But I’ll eat whatever.” He said kissing your cheek and went to have a shower.
“Fucking horny bastard.” You mumble to yourself and get out your phone, giggling at how Matthew got horny watching you eat a banana yesterday and then you two had sex straight after.
“Hey babe…” You hear Matthew call from the shower.
“Yeah honey?” You call back
“I forgot my shampoo, be the best girlfriend ever and bring it to me?” He asks
You roll your eyes and go to get it. “Moron.” You say handing it to him.
“Can you wash my hair? It relaxes me when you do it.” Matthew says with puppy eyes.
“I can’t refuse those eyes, of course I’ll wash your hair.” You smile, knowing Matthew would do the same for you. “Close your eyes pretty boy.”
“Thanks pumpkin.” Matthew smiles once you have done the last rinse.
“You always give me such cute nicknames.” You smile kissing his hand.
“Of course angel.” Matthew smiled, “You going to stay there whilst I wash the rest of my body?”
“Mhmm.” You say checking him out.
Matthew smirks, “Okay pretty eyes, my face is up here, not my dick.”
“Whatever.” You shrug as Matthew finishes his shower and wraps himself in the towel.
You giggle and have a shower yourself. “Want me to wash your hair?” Matthew offers
“I’m okay thanks, maybe later in the week?” You suggest
Matthew nods, kissing your shoulder and goes to get ready.
Later in the evening, you and Matthew settled on Tapas.
“Can we get some space cakes to eat back at the apartment?” You ask Matthew with a grin
“Of course. I was just thinking the same.” Matthew smiled as you hold hands
“My hands are so tiny compared to yours.” You pout
“That’s okay, they fit perfectly into mine.” Matthew said kissing your hand and bringing you in for a kiss, even though you had to be on your tip toes.
You smile, even during your bad days or moments, Matthew is always there to make it better.
You go into a shop and buy some space cakes, whilst Matthew buys a few joints for you both.
“Do we need a lighter angel?” Matthew asked you
You shrug, “Can always get another.”
Matthew nods agreeing with you and buys one.
“Can we ride bikes tomorrow Gube?” You ask with puppy eyes knowing it makes Matthew melt
“Of course princess.” Matthew smiled holding his hand out for you as you walked back to the AirBnB
“Okay, so we got alcohol, an ash tray, a lighter, all the weed, and my dream girl.” Matthew said checking you had everything now you were back at the AirBnB.
“Yep.” You smile, putting two glasses of water on the table as Matthew flops on the sofa, opening his arms for you.
“Come here baby girl.” Matthew smiles as you gladly snuggle into his arms and start eating a space cake, which Matthew takes a few bites from.
“You want to light up?” You ask Matthew, smiling at him like a goof.
“Sure.” Matthew said kissing your cheek first and then lit the joint. “I love getting stoned with you.” He said after taking a drag.
“I love you.” You say smooshing his cheeks, then kiss them both and take the joint off him.
“I love you too.” Matthew smiles.
“Joints are definitely stronger here. Not complaining though.” You say as you exhale.
“Mmm.” Matthew says burring his face in your chest.
After a few joints, you and Matthew are definitely feeling the buzz and are slow dancing to ‘Dancing in the moonlight’.
“You know if we ever have kids, I’m going to be so cross if they wear matching socks.” Matthew said as he took the joint from you.
You exhale, “I can just imagine you going ‘sweetie, your Mummy and Daddy love you very much but in the Gubler household we wear mis-matched socks, now please go back upstairs and change.’” You say in a strict Mum voice.
“Remember when my Mum caught us having sex at New Year?” Matthew laughs
You blush, “I was so embarrassed because you said you locked the door!”
“You told me you were sober.” Matthew giggled.
“Never trust an Irish girl when she says she’s sober after 10 pints.” You giggle as Matthew pulls you in for a kiss. “Are my eyes red?” You ask
“Yeah. Are mine?” Matthew asks as you nod.
“As red as the devils horns.” You say trying to keep a straight face.
“Do you want to have sex?” Matthew asked, even when he’s stoned or drunk, he’d never do anything you didn’t want to do.
“Yeah.” You smile like an idiot.
Matthew scooped you in his arms and you snuggled into them as he carried you to bed.
The following day
You wake up first, and put a top and leggings on, and go to the bathroom careful not to wake your pretty boyfriend and then go to make him a coffee, and a herbal tea for yourself.
Meanwhile Matthew wakes up, sad you’re not there, he’s been trying to get you to move in for a while, but as you don’t study where he lives, you’d have to commute two hours every day so you both agreed, once you graduate, you’d move in together.
Matthew smiles seeing you poor him a coffee. “Hi pretty lady.” He says in a raspy voice.
“Morning love muffin.” You smile handing him the mug.
“Thank you. Did you sleep okay?” He asks
You nod, “Yeah. I was fully knocked out after our fun.” You say sipping your tea. “Oh, I booked for us to do some stuff this week. I hope you don’t mind.”
“Stuff?” Matthew asks
“Well, bike riding and a few museums.” You shrug
“Sounds good cupcake.” Matthew smiled, “What’s for breakfast?”
“I got a delivery of waffles coming.” You smile, “Should be here in 15 minutes.”
“You’re the best.” Matthew said kissing your hand
Later on in the afternoon, you and Matthew are cycling around Amsterdam having the best time. “Babe, can we get lunch? I’m hungry.” You ask
“Of course.” Matthew smiled, “What do you fancy?”
“Maybe a picnic, we could get some stuff and sit by the canal?” You suggest
“Aww, I love that.” Matthew said and you cycled to the nearest shop to get some food.
“Thanks for the holiday Gube.” You say sipping your lemonade by the canal.
Matthew snaps a few cute selfies of you both, before putting them on Instagram. “Amsterdam with the best girlfriend who’s also my best friend.” Was the caption
“Aww.” You smile looking through the photos
“When did you take this one?” Matthew asked going on your Instagram, seeing the one of him on his phone wearing a white t-shirt.
“When we got stoned in my flat last time.” You say, “You were so giggly and I just had to take the picture. If you don’t like it, I’ll take it down.”
“No, it’s fine.” Matthew assured you. “We must’ve been really out of it.”
You laugh. “We were.”
Matthew smiles as you put your head on his shoulder and kisses your forehead gently. “Thank you for the holiday darling.”
“You paid for the flights.” You shrug
“You paid for the AirBnB.” Matthew smiled, even though Matthew could afford the whole thing, you still wanted to pay some of it. Matthew knows you never take advantage of him or his money, and it is one of the things he loves about you.
“Gube?” You ask
“Yes my love?” Matthew smiled
“Can we just stay here for a bit? I’m quite comfy.” You say
“Of course angel.” Matthew said draping a blanket over you two and you stayed there for a while just enjoying each-others company.

Chapter Two: Always There for You
Ethan was always the first one to wake up in his house. He liked to let Victoria have a lie in, particularly when the twins were newborns as Victoria was with them all day.
It was still dark outside, which was normal considering it was the middle of winter. Slowly, he got out of bed and headed down the corridor to check on the twins in their respective rooms.
Ethan smiled when he saw them both fast asleep, breathing deeply. If someone had told Ethan this this would be his life four years ago, he wouldn’t have believed them.
Ethan bent down towards Lily’s bed and stroked her blonde hair from her face. Selfishly, he wanted her to be awake so they could spend time together. Lily was the spitting image of her mother, bright green eyes and curly blonde hair and she had Ethan wrapped around her little finger. Much like Victoria did. He couldn’t say no to his two girls.
Luke meanwhile was the spitting image of Ethan with blue eyes and brown hair. He however had Victoria’s cheeky attitude whereas Lily was very much like Ethan. She has a no nonsense attitude and at 3 years old, Ethan wasn’t sure how and when she had picked it up.
The repetitive strokes had stirred Lily from her slumber and pulled Ethan out of his daydream. Lily sat up and rubbed her eyes, smiling widely when she saw Ethan.
“Daddy!” Lily threw her arms around Ethan’s neck.
“Good morning sweetpea.” Ethan smiled giving Lily a hug, sitting her on his lap. “How did you sleep?”
“Good! Mummy, Daddy work today?” Lily asked.
“No Mummy and Daddy don’t have to work today. We’re going to spend the day with you and your brother.” Ethan smiled kissing the side of Lily’s head. “Would you like to help Daddy make breakfast?”
“Yeah! With Luke and Mummy?”
“How about we surprise Mummy with breakfast in bed? Why don’t we go wake Luke and make some pancakes?” Ethan smiled.
That seemed to wake Lily up. She got off Ethan’s lap and raced off down the hall to Luke’s room. “Don’t run!” Ethan chuckled even though there was no stopping her. Despite being a mini Ethan, when Lily was determined she was exactly like Victoria. By the time Ethan had reached the hallway, Lily was pulling Luke out of his room.
“I was asleep!” Luke rubbed his eyes.
“Come on.” Ethan said picking him up. “We’re going to make pancakes for Mummy.”
That seemed to wake Luke up and he wriggled to be put down as both kids made their way down the stairs with Ethan behind them. They were met at the bottom of the stairs by Jenner who licked the twins faces making them giggle.
In the kitchen, Ethan sorted out all the ingredients and set to work making the batter. Luke and Lily stirred the batter and helped Ethan pour it into the frying pan. Once they were brown and cooked, he served them on a plate and put it on a tray.
“Are we taking it up to mummy?” Luke asked.
“Yes. Why don’t you lead the way and I’ll carry it?” Ethan suggested.
The twins grinned and ran off out the kitchen towards the stairs and up to Victoria and Ethan’s room.
“Mummy! Mummy wake up. Breakfast!” Luke and Lily shook Victoria awake.
“Did you do all this?” Victoria looked at the twins as Ethan set the tray across her lap.
“They sure did. They’re proper chefs our twins aren’t you?” Ethan said giving Victoria a kiss as the twins climbed onto the bed.
“We hope you like it!” Luke grinned.
Victoria ate both of the pancakes made much to the excitement of Luke and Lily. Victoria knew they had a real talent for food.
After getting dressed for the day, Victoria received a text from Sienna.
Have you seen the news?!
Victoria smiled at her phone, she knew Sienna was on the ball with election knowledge. She sent back a quick: yes I know who’s the nomination.
No no no. Have you seen WHERE he is? He’s in the hospital!
Victoria stared at the text. Ed was in the hospital? Why would he start his campaign in Bloom Edenbrook of all places?
Victoria raced downstairs and saw Ethan in the living room with the twins. She shoved her phone into his hands and his eyes widened as he read the text.
“I’ll sort this. I’ll make sure Leland understands.” Ethan said heading for the door and grabbing his coat.
“You don’t have to go in. Just ring them from here.” Victoria said.
“Vic I promised I’d never let him inside the hospital. I should’ve warned the team last night. If I had anything to say about it he wouldn’t even be stood outside the hospital. It won’t take long I promise.” Ethan said giving Victoria a quick kiss before opening the front door.
“Ethan don’t do anything stupid. Meet us in the park when you’re done.” Victoria replied.
Ethan just smiled and headed out the door. Victoria headed back into the living room where Luke and Lily were playing with their toys.
“Where’s Daddy gone?” Lily asked.
“Daddy’s just popped out but he won’t be long. How do you fancy a trip to the park?” Victoria suggested.
Luke and Lily loved their trips to the park and immediately jumped to their feet. Victoria just chucked as she helped the twins into their coats and put them in their buggy. The park was only down the road but Victoria knew their little legs would get tired and she couldn’t carry them both back home.
When they reached the gates to the park Victoria’s phone buzzed. It was Sienna.
So I’ve had to give the Senator a tour of the hospital and he doesn’t recognise me? You’d think after being forced to praise him he’d recognise a doctor that kissed his ass?
So not only was Senator Ed inside Bloom Edenbrook, Sienna was the one who had to give him the tour. Wanting more answers, Victoria sent a text back:
Was anyone else with you? And did the others recognise him?
Sienna immediately replied:
The ENTIRE hospital recognised him. I got many sympathetic glances. Luckily it was over in 15 minutes.
“Mummy are you ok?” Lily asked, pulling Victoria out of her thoughts.
“Yeah I’m ok.” Victoria smiled. “Now what shall it be first? Slide or swings?”
“Swings!” Both the twins exclaimed.
Victoria chuckled as she got the twins out of the buggy and set them down on the swings. Luke and Lily giggled as they were pushed back and forth by Victoria. Not long after, Ethan joined them.
“Daddy!” Luke grinned as Ethan picked him up out the swing and gave him a hug.
“How’s my favourite human?” Ethan grinned tickling Luke making him laugh.
“No Daddy! I’m your favourite!” Lily crossed her arms from the swing.
“And here’s me thinking I held that crown.” Victoria chuckled.
“It wouldn’t be fair if I said it to one and not the other.” Ethan laughed.
The twins ran around the park for a while longer before they became tired and the family of four headed home. Luke and Lily went down for a nap whilst Victoria and Ethan sat down on the sofa.
“So Sienna text me earlier. Saying she was the one who had to give Ed the tour.” Victoria looked at Ethan.
Ethan sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. “There was nothing I could do about that. She was already showing him around the ER when I got there. I tried to intervene but she said she could handle it.”
“Sienna’s a strong woman, nothing could scare her.” Victoria replied.
“He didn’t seem to recognise her though which I found strange. However the minute he made eye contact with me, I knew he instantly recognised me. It took all his restraint not to say something to me. I marched straight to Leland’s office and demanded an explanation.”
“What did he say?” Victoria asked.
“He said it was the hospitals obligation to show presidential nominees who request to look round hospitals.”
“He requested to look round the hospital?!” Victoria said startled.
“I didn’t believe it either. I had to argue with Leland as to why it was a bad idea. I had to tell him, I’m sorry. I don’t want him anywhere near the hospital again.” Ethan explained.
Victoria noticed her eyes brimming with tears. Ethan had noticed it too and pulled her in for a hug, gently rubbing her back.
“Why would he want to look round the hospital where he deemed himself to feel unsafe?” Victoria wiped her eyes.
“He doesn’t want people knowing that. Americans probably don’t remember the events at Edenbrook. I sure hope Massachusetts does because he should not win this state.” Ethan replied.
“I know I said I’m not scared of him and I’m not. But seeing him in power. I... I just don’t know if I could handle it.” Victoria said tears rolling down her cheeks again.
Ethan rested his chin on top of her head, stroking her hair. When she looked up at him, he wiped her eyes, kissing her forehead.
“Whatever happens, however this turns out, I will be by your side to help you see it through. And our two beautiful children will be there to give you a million hugs when you’re feeling sad.” Ethan smiled.
The tears started flowing down Victoria’s cheeks freely again, this time because of happiness. “What did I do to deserve such a beautiful family?”
“You didn’t have to do anything. We’d do anything for you. You know that.” Ethan chuckled tightening his arms around Victoria.
Victoria snuggled into Ethan, resting her head on his chest listening to the beating sound of his heart and the gentle rise and fall of his chest.
Everything that had been thrown at Victoria in the past, she had overcome, and gained newfound confidence from. This was just something else she would have to face with her head held high.
And with her family by her side, she knew she could face anything.

Writing dialogue for children is difficult so I hope I’ve made it as realistic as possible. My English A level required me to study child language development so I tried to remember how much a three year old could speak and implemented it here.
Hope you enjoy this! Lmk if you would like to be tagged.

Gunham scenario. Nagito does some crazy bs to see how much Gundham loves you (already dating) and randomly tries to kill you in the dining hall, but Gundham protects you and ends up getting the stab wound instead. Nagito says something about hope about your love. So Gundham is on bed rest, but you have to watch over him and his Devas. His Devas a so sweet with you and help you take care of Gundham.
Oh HELL YEAH, ANGST! I freaking LOVE angst with a side of comfort! This prompt is awesome, thank you!
The Darkside of Hope-Gundham Tanaka x Reader
You awoke to Monokuma’s morning announcement still feeling exhausted. Teruteru’s trial yesterday had completely worn you out.
“Good morning, my love.”
A tired voice gained your attention, and you turned your head to see Gundham Tanaka, your boyfriend of about a year laying beside you. You smiled softly at him and kissed his forehead. “Good morning, Gundham.”
“Are you still feeling unwell from the ordeal of last night?” He questioned you as he sat up, his hair ruffled from his night’s sleep and not in it’s usual style. You giggled to yourself at that. You always thought he looked adorable with it down, and even cuter when he just woke up.
You nodded to his question. “The whole thing with Teruteru was so...sad. He wanted to help us and Nagito....” Gundham pulled you into his chest, and you smiled gratefully at him as you continued. “And...and he just wanted to know if his mom and diner were alright. It’s all just so...terrible.”
“I know my dearest Fallen Angel.” The breeder said softly. “Nothing of our situation is fair in the slightest.” He gently tilted your head up to meet his eyes. “But at least we have each other, yes?”
You nodded happily. “Yeah. I don’t know how I could handle this if I didn’t have you.”
“I understand. I, too, feel that way.” Gundham smiled gently and kissed your lips. “Thankfully we are not alone, nor will we ever be.”
You smiled warmly at that, before reluctantly pulling away. “We should probably make our way to the restaurant.” You said, standing from the bed.
Your lover sighed as he followed suit. “Yes, you are right. It would do no good to worry the mortals with our absence.”
You nodded. “Thank you for letting me stay in your cottage, Gundham.” You thanked him. “I really didn’t feel like being alone.”
“It is of no problem, my dark queen.” Gundham assured you with a smile. “I will do whatever I can to comfort you and keep you safe.”
Your chest fluttered when he said that. “You’re so sweet, my lord.” You replied, giggling softly when you saw him blush lightly. “I’m heading to my cottage to get ready. I’ll see you soon.” With a final goodbye, you left his room.
“Ah, so you were with Gundham.”
You jumped at the unexpected voice. You turned to see Nagito standing before you. You felt a wave of unease as you remembered his performance in the trial the previous night. “Y-yes, I was.” You confirmed. “Is that a problem?”
Nagito quickly shook his head, holding his hands up. “Oh, no no no! It’s not a problem at all! Quite the opposite in fact! I think it’s wonderful you and Gundham have each other to rely on. You’re quite fortunate to know each other prior to coming here.”
You furrowed you brow, not quite sure what Nagito was getting at. “Yeah...We were both really excited when we realized we were both accepted into Hope’s Peak.”
“And now you have each other to rely on for your hope!” The lucky student hugged himself, and the crazed look in his eyes returned. “How lucky.”
You began slowly walking past him. “Right...” You muttered, deciding to ignore him. But what he said next stopped you in your tracks.
“But...how can you be sure of his love for you?”
You blinked, and slowly turned back to look at him. “...What?”
Nagito gave you a crazed grin that sent a chill down your spine. “How can you be so sure your hope aligns with his? Perhaps his love for you is overpowered by his want for escape, and he is simply using it as a cover?”
Your eyes widened, and you took a step away from Nagito. “Wh...what?! No! Gundham would never do something like that! He loves me! I know he does!”
“But are you certain?” The boy asked, taking a step towards you. You took another one back, feeling a pang of fear in your chest. “Maybe after realizing the situation we are in, he began making his own plans. Maybe he has plans to kill you, using your relationship as an alibi.”
You clenched your fists and shook your head. “No! I said he wouldn’t do that!” You snapped, glaring at the white haired student. “You don’t know anything about Gundham! He would never hurt me!”
Nagito nodded. “You’re probably right. The Ultimate Y/T would know much more than trash like me, especially about her own boyfriend.” He walked past you, only stopping briefly to speak some final words. “Though, perhaps you should still keep what I said in mind.” And with that, he walked towards the hotel.
You watched him leave, and for a moment you took his words to heart, worry filling you. You quickly pushed all of that to the side. Gundham would never hurt you, let alone kill you. Nagito is just trying to manipulate you like he had Teruteru. With an annoyed sigh, you walked into your cottage to get ready.
~~~
You walked up the steps to the restaurant and immediately noticed Gundham sitting at a table off to the side. You also saw Nagito sitting alone in the corner. You met his gaze for a moment before walking over to your boyfriend and sitting across from him.
You smiled when he saw you. “Ah! There you are, my queen of darkness!” He greeted you, taking your hand in his. “You are looking radiant as always.”
You chuckled and shook your head. “Gundham, I look the same I always do.”
The breeder gave a small smirk. “And thus you always shine with the radiance of an angel.” He frowned slightly. “However I can tell worry taints your features. What is it that plagues you, my love?”
You bit your lip, your eyes darting over to where Nagito was seated. You noticed he wasn’t there anymore, and though that worried you, you ultimately didn’t pay it much mind. “It...it isn’t anything, Gundham.” You told him, attempting to give him a reassuring smile. “I just had a...run in with Nagito.”
Gundham narrowed his eyes. “What did that vermin say to you?” He growled lowly. “Did he attempt to control your mind as he had the chef?”
“I...I think so?” You answered before shaking your head and giving Gundham a soft smile. “But don’t worry. Really. I’m fine.”
Your boyfriend looked unsure, but he sighed. “If you insist, I shall drop it.” He said.
You smiled and leaned over to kiss his cheek. “Thank you, Gundham.” You whispered. As you pulled away, you noticed something from the corner of your eye. You turned, and saw Nagito approach.
Gundham noticed too and glared at the lucky student. “And what business do you have with us?” He demanded.
“I know scum such as myself has no business interacting with either of you.” Nagito began. His eyes looked over at you, and you began feeling uneasy. “But something has been bothering me. I must check exactly how strong your hopes are.”
“What in the Nine Hells are you-”
Gundham didn’t get to finish his sentence before Nagito lunged. He held a knife as he ran straight at you. Your eyes widened, and you froze, unable to move. You saw some others in the room noticed, but were too far away to act.
Gundham, however, acted quickly, dashing in front of you right before Nagito made contact with you. Your lover let out a pained grunt and took a knee as a fleshy impact sound was heard.
“Gundham!” You exclaimed worriedly, rushing over in front of him as Nekomaru and Akane restrained Nagito.
“Ah, so I was wrong! Gundham’s love for you is his hope!” The crazed boy laughed as he was dragged away from you and Gundham. “It’s so strong he would risk himself! How beautiful!”
“S-shut up!” You called back to him as you knelt in front of Gundham. The knife stuck out of his stomach, and blood was staining his shirt. “M-Mikan! Mikan please come here! Hurry”
“C-coming!” The nurse exclaimed, rushing over to you and nearly tripping as she did so.
“I-I am fine, m-my fallen angel.” Gundham tried to assure you, though his pained expression did little to make you feel better. “It w-will take more than this to t-take down Gundham T-Tanaka!”
“S-shut up, Gundham.” You muttered, tears forming in your eyes. “Don’t be so proud right now. You have a fucking knife in you!”
“And I w-would take a thousand more if it meant you would remain safe.” Your boyfriend said firmly. “I will never allow you to be harmed, n-no matter what shall become of me.”
The tears began to fall. “Y-you can be such an idiot sometimes.” You murmured, clinging to his jacket. “You can’t just go and do something stupid like that! I don’t want you getting hurt either!”
“U-um, I-I’m so s-sorry to interrupt...” Mikan spoke up. “B-but Gundham n-needs to lie down. C-can someone h-help me take him t-to his cottage?”
“I can do that.” Hajime offered, stepping forward. He placed a hand on Gundham’s shoulder. “Can you walk, Gundham?”
~~~
It was some time later, and you sat in Gundham’s cottage. Mikan had done all she could and had ordered Gundham to bed rest. You told everyone you’d keep an eye on him. Currently he was asleep.
You just watched him as he slept, tears still staining your cheeks. You knew it wasn’t your fault. It was Nagito’s. He had tried to stab you unprovoked. But still...you couldn’t help but feel awful. Like it should have been you who got hurt.
You heard soft squeaking, and you looked over to see the Dark Devas on the ground looking up at you. You smiled softly and leaned down, placing your hands down for them to climb on. When they did you lifted them up to eye level. “Hey, little ones.” You said to them. “Gundham’s out of it right now. But....but he’ll be...”
You bit your lip. You wanted to reassure them he would be fine. Mikan had told you he’d be fine. But...but you were still scared. What if you lost him? You weren’t sure if you could go on. You couldn’t trust anyone else here.
You were broken out of your thoughts by the Devas nuzzling your cheek. You smiled softly down at them and pet them gently. “Thank you, little ones.” You said quietly. “Gundham has trained you extremely well.” You looked over to your boyfriend’s bed. “You’re all worried about him too, aren’t you?” You asked, then slowly stood, carrying the hamsters over. You lowered your hands and allowed them to crawl onto it. They carefully made their way over to Gundham and nuzzled him, Jum-P burrowing himself in the breeder’s scarf and quickly falling asleep,
You smiled softly as you watched your boyfriend and his beloved hamsters rest. You looked down at his middle and winced. The bandage around his stomach was already nearly completely soaked through with blood. You would have to change it when he woke up.
You clenched your fists as you thought about Nagito. Kazuichi had stopped by and informed you the crazed boy had been tied and thrown into the old building, so there was no chance of him hurting someone else. That helped you relax, but you were still overwhelmingly angry at him. He had done this to Gundham just to prove he really loved you? That wasn’t even any of his business! And what was that hope bullshit he kept going on about?
“Ngh...M-my love?”
Your gaze shot over to Gundham’s face at the soft mumblings, and you saw him blinking open his eyes. The breeder began attempting to pull himself up, and you ran over to his side to help him. After you got him into a sitting position, you smiled softly at him. “How did you sleep, Gundham? Do you feel alright?” You asked him.
“I slept quite well knowing I had you looking over me, my angel.” Your boyfriend replied, returning your smile. “As for how I am feeling...” He frowned and looked down at his stomach. “I must admit, I have felt better. This stinging reminds me of when I was bitten by a dreaded viper.”
You sighed. “I’m sure. I’m so sorry, Gundham. I wish there was more I could do to stop the pain.”
The breeder frowned and reached a hand up, cupping your face. “Cease that at once, my love. You have done all you can to heal me, and I owe you my life. This is not your fault, so do not apologize. Understood?”
You smiled softly and nodded. “Alright. If you say so, Gundham. I understand.”
He chuckled lightly and pulled your face down to kiss you. When he pulled away, he looked down to the Devas that were nuzzling his face happily. “Were my subordinates well behaved and helpful?” He asked you, scratching Cham-P behind his ear.
You giggled and nodded. “Yes, they were.” You told him. “They kept me calm when I was worried about you. And they kept you company while you slept.”
Gundham looked down to Jum-P still slumbering in his scarf and chuckled. “I can see that. Well, I am glad they assisted you, my queen.”
You smiled down at the little critters. “They were very helpful.” You looked away from them and over to Gundham’s wound, and your smile fell. “...I need to change your bandage.”
Your boyfriend followed your gaze and scowled. “It would appear so.” He muttered, then let out a sigh. “Very well. Let us get it over with.”
You nodded, and after getting the supplies left by Mikan, you began to tend to Gundham’s wound, cleaning the cut and reapplying the bandage.
You heard Gundham hiss softly as you did, letting out a quiet curse. “I will banish that pathetic worm to hell.” He growled through his teeth as he clenched the bed sheets.
“I’m sorry, Gundham.” You apologized. “I’m doing all I can to make it not hurt.”
“Not for that reason.” He corrected you. “I do not care if I am inflicted with pain. What he is going to be destroyed for is his attempt to make this your fate.” He looked into your eyes. “I am used to feeling pain. I do not wish for you to ever have to be hurt, my queen.”
You couldn’t help but smile softly at that. You couldn’t believe you doubted for even a second that Gundham loved you. You leaned over and placed a light kiss on his cheek as you finished wrapping the new bandages around his wound. “Well I don’t want you being hurt either, my dark dumbass, so let’s try to protect each other without taking a bullet, alright?” You giggled.
Gundham chuckled in response. “Very well, my fallen angel. If you insist.” He gently caressed your face and pulled you closer so he could kiss you lovingly, the both of you closing you eyes as you enjoyed the kiss.
When you pulled apart from the kiss, you smiled at him. “You should get more rest, my king.” You told him. “I’ll be right here while you do. And I don’t plan on ever leaving.”
~~~
Hope that was what you had in mind! I like this prompt. Making Nagito the bad guy is fun, even if I do love the guy lol
Slippery Slopes Pt.2
Part two y’all! Sorry it’s late, I’ve been busy. Should be one more part to finish this up!
Tag list: @samanthadalton @fundamentalromantic @avalawrencefl @penda-bear @queen-arabella-of-cordonia @kamilahsayeet2063
It had been an interesting 24 hours since the accident on the slopes yesterday. No word had been passed on about Emma and that left her suitors restless. Mason couldn’t cope with the fact that his father or ex best friend had committed such a cruel act that hurt Emma.
Noah couldn’t believe he was even in this situation. He should have never trusted Jennings but he let his guard down for the sake of the trip and Emma, and this is what he got. He was looking at charges for trespassing and endangerment while Principal Jennings seemed to be clearing his name.
Mack couldn’t stop pacing, Dr. Price was doing an awful job of updating his own daughter on her sisters progress. Ava wasn’t fairing much better. She had organized their room over and over trying to make sure it’s perfect for when Emma came back to the lodge.
It was just a sit tight and stand ready type of situation. None of them had a personal car available, so trapped at the lodge they were.
Ava stopped her cleaning when she heard a cellphone go off, to no surprise it was hers and the caller was Bayla. She grumbled and put the phone back down, she had called 4 times already today. Ava couldn’t bring herself to talk to her girlfriend knowing Emma was hurt in the hospital. She would sound weak, vulnerable, all red flags Bayla didn’t need right now.
Another call rang out across the house, this time it was Mack’s phone, and judging by her facial reactions, it was with her father. Mack nodded enthusiastically and ended the call, yelling out to find Mason.
“Emma is ready to come back here, dad said she will be ok, we need to go and pick her up. Spare keys are in his room, I’ll grab them and we can go.”
“What all was wrong?” Ava rushed out of the room and into the foyer.
“He didn’t say. I guess we will know when we all get back.” Mack said noticing the gloom placed on Ava’s features. “She’s gonna be alright.”
Ava went and tidied up the room once more and without knowing what Emma would require, she just cluttered the entire nightstand with odd and ends eliminating the guessing.
The front door slamming was her queue to come running, she leaned over the balcony railing only to see Jennings and Noah.
“I don’t know how you got those signs in my bag old man, but this isn’t over.” Noah hissed shoving his way past Principal Jennings.
“Maybe you should think twice before doing illegal activities. You’re never going to learn trailer trash.” Jennings barked stopping Noah dead in his tracks.
Jennings was an asshole. This dude seemed to get off on making teenagers lives miserable. The tension was unbearable.
“I know you knew about the course being closed. I just can’t figure out why you’d try to hurt Emma. You’re a sick bastard and if I go down, you’re coming with me.” Noah said inching up into Jennings face.
The scene was split up when Mack came through the door. Mason in tow pushing an unconscious Emma in a wheelchair. She had a cast on her leg and looked so cold. Dave brought up the rear looking like hell. Looks like sleep wasn't an option for him either.
“Ah yes there she is. How did everything go?” Jennings asked unfazed of what transpired.
Mason ignored him and tried to walk past to the staircase with Emma sleeping.
“I said how did everything go?” Jennings said jerking Mason back almost causing him to fall. Noah shoved Jennings aside helping to stabilize Mason so Emma wouldn’t fall out of the chair.
“Ask Mr. Price dad! Let go of me, Emma needs to be in bed!” Mason snapped shoving his fathers hands away from him.
Jennings jumped at the outburst and gritted his teeth, turning to Dave. “Let’s talk in the kitchen, I’ll have the Chef whip up some coffee.”
With the adults gone and the room de-stressed, Noah assisted Mason in carrying Emma up to her room, Ava steering clear of them until Emma was placed in bed.
“Ok boys thank you. I can handle her from here.” Ava shot out shoving them aside to check on Emma.
The boys looked to each other confused but didn’t say anything about the outburst. Mason needed his own rest and Noah had a busy day ahead of him with Jennings and the ski patrol assholes.
“Just let us know when she wakes alright? Mr. Price has her medicine.” Mason said closing the door leaving Ava alone with a sleeping Emma.
Ava had no clue why she wanted the privacy with Emma. She was a taken woman and Emma was her bestie. Nothing else, she tried to convince herself.
But the longer she sat and stared at Emma, the more her heart pounded, the more she wanted to wake her and kiss her all better. The thoughts of such activities made her dizzy and she had to get away. But it was Emma, she had this way of keeping her grounded and for the life of her, Ava couldn’t drag herself away.
So she continued to sit in silence, begging for Emma to wake up, because quite frankly? She didn’t look too well.
Ava easily got up and slipped out of the room and looked for Mr. Price. She heard some quiet commotion from the kitchen, what a shock.
“Now you listen here Jim, I don’t know how it happened, all I know is my little girl just underwent a major leg surgery after she took place in your little race.”
“Now I know how it looks Dave, I’m quite sorry that it happened, but Mr. Harris is the culprit here. I should have known not to place trust in him. What a terrible thing, taking down those signs.”
Noah heard his name and flew into the kitchen,
“I told you Jennings! I didn’t take down any signs!”
“Quiet scum! Adults are talking here! Don’t you have a meeting with the ski patrol?” Jim teased.
“I don’t know how you twisted this on me, but I’ll get you back.” Noah inched closer so only Jennings could here, “Maybe I should call off our deal?”
Whatever was said, Jennings went pale and cleared his throat. Removing himself from the conversation.
“Mr. Price?” Ava said entering the room. “Emma is still asleep. And she’s so pale, she looks sick.”
“I feared that. It’s her medication, she should be awake anytime now for another dose. Here, please give her one of these when she awakes. I’m going to get some rest.” Mr. Price said handing over the medicine.
Ava returned to the room with the meds and hot tea to find Emma slowly awaking.
“Hello sleepy head.” Ava rushed over with a smile.
“Where am I?” Emma groggily spoke out.
“Back in the bedroom with good ol me.”
Emma rubbed at her eyes trying to get them to open, “Are you an angel?”
Ava snorted, “Oh now you wanna shoot your shot huh.”
“Worth a try.” Emma laughed. “I feel terrible.”
“You look it.” Ava agreed dodging the pillow Emma tossed.
“Here Mahomes, here’s your pill and I made your favorite tea.” Ava giggled as she sat down next to Emma to help her take the meds and give her a sip of tea.
“Psh, Mahomes wishes he had this cannon for an arm.” Emma tried laughing but she done exhausted herself.
“Relax, you just underwent surgery. I’m actually impressed they released you so quickly.”
“Perks of having a doctor for a dad. I’m not about that hospital food.”
The two sat in silence for a moment while Emma sipped her tea. It was so nice just the two of them, Ava had Emma all to herself, no intruders, no boys, and no Bayla. Crap....Bayla was still her girlfriend.
Ava came to and realized she was stroking Emma’s delicate hair, resting her hand on Emma’s soft cheek. She quickly composed herself and stood abruptly, creating as much distance as possible.
What was this? What were they? Friends? More than friends? Ava knew what the answer should be, but the timing was terrible. Bayla was her own girlfriend, and Emma had her own issues.
A text shot through to Ava’s phone, it was Bayla. “Speak of the devil.” Ava whispered. She had been putting her off for long enough and by judging by the text she received, Bayla wasn’t happy.
“Ava?” Emma called out oblivious to Ava’s aggressive texting.
Ava turned immediately to face her, “Yeah?”
“Where are the boys?”
Ava doesn’t know why, but with her issues with Bayla and her feelings for Emma, hearing her ask for the boys really added fuel to her blazing fire.
“Idk. Mason is resting and Noah and Jennings are with the ski patrol.”
Emma could hear the aggression in Ava’s voice, but she couldn’t tell if it was at her texting or towards her about her question.
“Is everything alright Ava?”
“Yeah. It’s just Bayla. She’s bugging me because I haven’t responded in awhile.”
“Oh. I wonder what has her in a twist.” Emma asked innocently.
Ava knew why. She told Bayla before she left the arrangement, so naturally she had to keep tabs on her at all times. Trust between the two were slipping, but Ava wasn’t helping her cause and Emma wasn’t either. “Because that’s what a good girlfriend does!” Ava snapped surprising Emma. “She’s just concerned!”
“Oh. I understand, I’m sorry.” Emma apologized.
“No Emma you don’t! You don’t understand and you never will!” Ava said slamming her phone down on the counter and stomping towards the door.
Something told Emma deep within this was more than just Bayla being worried, she couldn’t help but think this was all her fault and the reason Ava was upset.
Ava had to get out and breathe, she loved Emma, but she couldn’t take her indecisiveness. She couldn’t stand competing for her hand any longer, it was time to set the record straight. She stepped back in to grab her phone before heading back out again.
“Where are you going?” Emma tried.
“I’ve got a phone call to make.”
Ever since I woke up this morning, I’ve been thinking deeply about Jeorge. (Just like everyday.) This is the alt outfit and how he looked in my dream yesterday. He was a baby. This was when we was studying under his mentor. And then I made a whole timeline from childhood to his being in FEH currently. And now its 5am.
But have the beginning of what I’ve been writing, it takes place before he starts traveling (running away from home):
Since he was a child, Jeorge was always told what to do. How to act, how to talk, how to emote, how to move, just everything. His every action monitored and controlled to be “perfect.” Clean clothes, straight hair, good posture, and empty emotions.
Jeorge was often dragged around by his parents to banquets and upstanding social gatherings. It was boring. There were no other kids to play with, just adults looking down at him. Can’t even eat the hors d'oeuvres that are being walked around. However, he was not brought there to have a good time. No, he was there to be a sort of “spy.” Having been taught to read lips for secrets that could be passed through whispers under the performances and crowd’s banter. He must be observant. Watch for body language, straying eyes, stutters, and doublespeak. “Any slip up can be used against you; any slip up can be used against them.”
The Manipulating Menidies.
Jeorge would read on the lips of those they passed. He would see the glares directed at them. The fear and the hate he felt stabbing into his back. It may not be present on his trained, emotionless face, but it hurts. To see businesses, families, and relationships destroyed because of his own family’s selfish acts to gain fame, fortune, nobility, and notoriety. He didn’t want to be like them. He doesn’t want to be like them. He doesn’t want to be a Menidy.
Everything being orchestrated and being decided for him at such a young age does not leave much room to have a future. “Our son will become one of the King’s finest advisors. He is a smart and loyal young man.” You don’t believe that. “Is that correct, son?” Jeorge drew in his breath. Make sure your words are confident, your voice is steady, and your stance is strong. “Of course, father.” Nailed it.
As the night went on, Jeorge continued to stand by his father’s side in silence, as if held there by an invisible leash. He was picking apart the empty praises his father boasted on about to the other nobles.
“Our son goes to the highest prestige school in the country.” With a tuition paid by all the people you ruined.
“The highest grades in his classes.” Because of a tutor of whom you threatened to tear her house down.
“And not to mention a keen swordsman.” That one is just a lie.
His parents hired a private mentor to train him on his swordsmanship, but no one wants to mention how bad he was at it.
--
“Close combat really isn’t for you, huh?” His mentor deflected Jeorge’s sloppy approach and threw him to the ground. “I admire your stride. You’re absolutely terrible at this, but you’re still trying.”
“It’s not by choice.” Jeorge pushed himself off his back and sat upright with his legs crossed.
“I know. But you don’t want to disappoint your parents.” His mentor squatted down to look him in the eye.
“If I disappoint them, father will hit me with his ring hand or something.” Jeorge thought back to the time when he got a bit too excited about a dessert one of their estate’s chefs invented: A crispy, cinnamon, apple tart. He must have eaten six of them in one go. He got crumbs all over his dress shirt. It did not even stain, but he was stripped of his clothes and locked in his room. He was not allowed to eat for a week.
--
Since that day, he’s been contemplating an escape plan: a plan to run away from home. Being locked in his room for a week gave him time to study his surroundings. The strength of the locks, the soundproofing of the walls, the time and route of the guards who passed by his window, and the voices of maids outside his door debating on whether or not they should slip him a little snack.
Being dragged along to these banquets in other villages gave him the opportunity to plan a route. What roads to take, how thick the forests were, and which alleys to hide in just in case a search party comes running by. He calculated just how far his little legs would take him. He can’t outrun a horse, but he’s still small enough to hide in most crevices. I’ll be getting one of those growth spurts soon. I can run farther, but my butt will be too big to hide in crates.
When Midia and her father would visit Menidy Estate, she and Jeorge would play Hide and Seek: Hard Mode. That means hiding outside is on limits. When Jeorge hid in the brush, he came across a hole in the fencing just big enough to crawl under. Being sly, he snuck out thinking to himself, “She’ll never find me.” And she didn’t. And neither did anyone else for a couple days. It caused quite a commotion across town. When the guards and his father finally found him, they locked him in his room.
They never found the hole he slipped through and that reinforced Jeorge’s plan to run away. Using that experience as reference, he analyzed extra things he must do to be harder to find. Travel through towns at night. Travel through forests during the day. I can’t sleep at an inn, so I can’t sleep until I make it out of town. Wear unsuspicious clothes. He looked through his wardrobe and all his custom outfits had a gold trim. The shine will give away my location no doubt. He placed the clothes on his bed and tugged at the cuffs on the sleeves. He walked back over to his wardrobe and grabbed his training sword that was leaning against it. Jeorge sloppily sawed off the golden cuffs, the golden collar, and the golden hems off his tunic. I gotta travel light. I only need one pair of clothes and money. He stuffed his essentials in a leather messenger bag Midia “gave” him for his birthday the previous year.
Their parents have been exchanging gifts in the name of their children. Jeorge apparently “gave” Midia a necklace for her birthday the same year. Their fathers were trying to solidify this arranged marriage business. Trying to enhance the ties between the families to reap the benefits. Midia didn’t seem to mind the marriage, she likes playing with Jeorge and if they got married, they would play forever. Jeorge hated it. Just another thing he has no say in. He likes playing with Midia, however, playing together forever is too much. Especially when they play tag. She has a powerful tackle. One time, she tackled him right to the ground and he slammed his face against the pavement. She fainted because of all the blood. It wasn’t that bad, Jeorge just lost a baby tooth.
He looked down at his luggage and then at his training sword. It had strands of golden thread clinging to the dull, silver blade. He sheathed the blade and leaned it back against the wardrobe. Ready.
--
“He is a fine and handsome, young man.”
“Thank you, ma’am.” Jeorge said without skipping a beat.
“Ma’am?” Jeorge looked up and saw it was in fact a nobleman. Jeorge really was zoning out, maybe he was hungry.
“My apologies, sir. I have just been lost in thought.” He bowed his head.
“Do not worry, those who get lost in thought are the smart ones.” The nobleman chuckled.
Jeorge could feel the heat emanating from beside him. His father was angry. I guess I really won’t be eating tonight.
He turned his head and caught his reflection on one of the windows.
It’s almost time.
Main six + courtiers in Hell's Kitchen AU with MC as Gordon Ramsey
Hi, sorry for being absent for so long. Besides the school starting, there have been some things going on in my private life that didn't really motivate me to write. I can't post new chapters every week like usual, but I'll try to post as frequently as I can. Sorry for not doing any of the requests. I had this chapter as a wip for a while, so I decided to finish it. Hope you enjoy it!
-------
Previously on Hell’s Kitchen:
Chef MC tasted the contestants’ signature dishes and, needless to say, they were not pleased.
“How can you serve me this garbage!?!” MC shouted, “I wouldn’t feed a stray dog with this crap!”
Both teams had problems in the kitchen
“You moron, what are you doing?” Nadia asked, frowning like a madman, “Where is the chicken?”
And one team had a little throwback because of one of the cooks
“Volta, what in the world are you doing?” MC shouted, not believing their eyes, “That food is for the customers!”
But now all of that is set aside as the new day and new opportunities arise. Will the chefs be able to rise to the top and win the luxurious restaurant in Vesuvia, or will they crumble at the pressure?
“I want to go back home,” Portia sobbed as she hugged her knees, “I miss my grandma.”
  “Wake up sleepyhea-” one of the MC’s sous-chefs, Scout, stopped midsentence as she stared at Valerius’ bed.
He woke up as he rubbed his eyes, feeling like his head is a lot lighter. As soon as he put his head on the sheets he felt something strange. He lowered his head, only to be greeted by the sight of his braid cut off, right next to him.
“My deep apologies for the inconvenience,” Valdemar said as they put a pair of scissors down, walking out of the room to change, “I just can’t have some of your hair in the food we prepare, so I had to make some sacrifice,” they grinned from ear to ear as they stared at Valerius’ pale face, “Oh, don’t you worry, It’ll grow back before you know it.”
 ****
 “Good morning everyone!” MC said as they watched all of the chefs come into the room, “Oh, Valerius, nice hairstyle!” they chuckled as they stared at him who still hasn’t recovered from the trauma, “Who did your hairstyle? I must say I’m quite impressed.”
“Valdemar, they, I, I was sleeping and, and, that plebian-” he was interrupted midsentence by Valdemar.
“No need to thank me, for my dearest colleague it’s free of charge,” they smiled, enjoying Valerius’ reaction.
“Anyway,” MC said, as they walked up to one table, “Today I will be seeing how good your pallets are and,” their gaze flew over Valerius, Vulgora, Nadia, Lucio and Portia, “Judging by how many smokers are here, my expectations are low,” they turned their head to Julian, “Sit this round out.”
Julian nodded as he walked to the back.
“Valerius, Nadia, come here,” they took blindfolders and headphones, putting them on the two of them, “Can you hear me?” MC shouted at the two of them, “Good, now,” they took a plate of foods from Scout, “Let’s begin, shall we?” they raised one spoon, putting it into Nadia’s mouth, “Boiled potato.”
“Is this pepper?” Nadia asked after she swallowed the potato.
MC raised one of Nadia’s headphones, saying: “Boiled potato.”
They walked over to Valerius, who wasn’t lucky enough to guess either. Surprisingly enough, Nadia, as well as Valerius, both guessed all of the exotic foods right, with Nadia bringing 2 and Valerius bringing one point to their team.
Next, it was Vlastomil’s and Asra’s turn. Vlastomil guessed all of the vegetables and fruits, while Asra only recognized a date as well as ham, however, Vlastomil got a heart attack as soon as he realized he ate meat.
“But I’m vegan!” he shouted.
“Still, you’re not cooking for vegans!” MC explained, “You just have to know what you’re cooking, I don’t give a fuck what you eat.”
Overall Asra got 2 and Vlastomil got 3 points.
Now it was Valdemar’s and Lucio’s turn. MC hesitantly put the food in Valdemar’s mouth, trying their best to avoid those sharp teeth.
“Brocolli. Pear. Tangerine. Lamb’s brain,” Valdemar simply stated after they’ve tasted all of the food.
“Wow,” MC said, “Impressive.”
Lucio, on the other hand, wasn’t as good.
“Um, broccoli, this, this is an… apple. Oh, I know what this is, it’s orange! This, this tastes like bacon!”
“Not even close,” MC said as they took off his headphones, “Go back in your line. Portia, Vulgora, come here.”
Portia, just like Valdemar, guessed all of the food right, Vulgora half as much.
“Now it all comes down to this,” MC said as they put on headphones.
Volta guessed 2 right, but Muriel guessed all of them!
“The six of you have just barely won!” MC said, “Change your clothes, I’m taking all six of you somewhere special. As for the five of you,” MC gestured at the brooms, “I want this place crystal clear!”
“Yes, chef!”
  While the winners prepared themselves to finally go outside, the losing team went straight on to cleaning the hell’s kitchen.
“Wonder where we’ll go?” Portia said as she walked with Nadia outside.
“Honestly, any place is better than here,” she commented as she lit her cigarette, offering Portia one.
She happily took it and, once Nadia lit it for her, continued, “He told us to put on swimsuits, maybe a beach?”
“I sure hope it is!” Lucio said as he walked up to the two of them, to which Nadia only rolled her eyes.
 “I can’t believe I was put in the same team as my ex-husband!” Nadia frowned at the camera, clearly pissed.
****
  “Is everyone ready?” MC asked as they watched the other three walk out of the hell’s kitchen.
“Yes, chef!” the six of them said in unison.
“Very well then, let’s get going,” MC said as they gestured to a luxurious limousine.
****
“Finally!” Lucio puffed his chest as he stared at the camera, “A car worthy of me!”
****
 “Can you guess where we’re going?” MC asked the six of them.
“To the beach?” Portia and Nadia guessed.
“No, but you’re close,” MC said as they stared at others.
“A pool?” Muriel asked.
“Nadia and Portia were closer.”
“To the yacht?” Julian asked.
MC smiled and, with a small nod said: “You’ve guessed it!
****
“Oh my gosh, this will be just like my childhood!” Portia happily exclaimed, “The wind blowing through my hair, the smell of saltwater in the air…” she rambled on and on, “Ohh, I can’t wait!”
****
 “Can you imagine what the five of them are doing right now?” Mc asked as they sipped on champagne.
“Oh, I definitely wouldn’t want to be in their shoes,” Julian added as he finished his glass.
  “Alright, now that that’s out of the way,” Valdemar said as they put the brooms in their place, “We need to make a strategy on how to win.”
“We would have won, had someone not guessed only 2 foods right,” Valerius said, eyeing Volta not so discreetly.
“Who are you to talk?” Vulgora said, getting annoyed, “You only guessed one right! You did the worst out of all of us!” it seemed that it was enough to shut Valerius up, but Vulgora continued, “And you! How did you not recognize ham of all things?”
“Because I’m vegan!” Vlastomil shouted, clearly offended.
“This can’t do,” Valdemar said with a frown, “Let’s get one thing straight,” they started talking right after the four of them shut up, “We don’t like each other,” to that all of them nodded, “But the only way we can stay in this competition is to make sure that those six are the ones who always lose.”
“Makes sense,” Vulgora said.
“So you propose that we get rid of 6 of them first?” Valerius asked.
“Exactly, then we can deal with each other later,” Valdemar nodded and, after a short pause, added, “Oh, also, I have no wish to win this competition.”
“WHAT?” the other four asked, not believing what they heard.
“You see, I have absolutely no knowledge about cooking, at all, as a matter of fact, I’m a surgeon.”
“Why did you get here then?” Vlastomil asked, confused.
“Because I made a bet with my colleague, that ginger guy in the opposite team. If I were to get further in this competition than him, he’d have to buy me three rare specimens for my research, but if he were to win I’d have to get him 30 jars filled with leeches,” they finished their sentence, rolling their eyes.
“So, what you’re saying is that you wouldn’t mind if we were to vote you off as soon as that idiot is out?”
“I’d be more than grateful,” Valdemar said with a grin.
“Seems good enough!” Volta said as she nibbled on one of the cookies. “Wait,” she asked as she ate the whole cookie in one bite, “Why were you accepted in the Hell’s kitchen?”
“Same reason why ex-husband and wife were put in the same team,” they simply shrugged, “For the drama.”
“Oh, how much I wish they were to lose,” Valerius said in front of the camera, still thinking about his braid.
 “We’re opening hell’s kitchen!” MC said as everybody got to their places in the kitchen, “Don’t disappoint me again! Also, we’re one waiter short and since you are the losing team,” MC took a glance at five of them, “Valerius, you’ll be a replacement.”
Valerius only nodded as he left the kitchen.
“Vlastomil, you’ll be at the meat section,” Valdemar simply stated as they sharpened some of the knives.
“But I-” he wanted to protest, but Vulgora interrupted them.
“Stop complaining and go!”
 “Alright, let’s begin,” Asra said as they read the first order, “Let’s just put the same effort as yesterday.”
“This will be a breeze,” Asra grinned at the camera, “The opposite team is two cooks short! There is just no way we can lose,” as soon as Asra said that a smile disappeared on their face, “Unless…”
“OH FUCK!” Lucio shouted, not taking their eyes off the burning pan, “Um… I may have made an oopsie…”
“WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?!?” Nadia shouted, mortified, “Someone, stop the fire!” she demanded.
Everyone gasped in shock, with Asra walking as far away from the fire as they could while Portia pulled Julian towards her before his clothes could have caught on fire as well. Muriel irked his head, trembling at the sight of fire slowly spreading to the other cookware. The fear didn’t stop him though, as he quickly found the fire extinguisher, stopping the fire.
“Oh, thank you,” Nadia said, hugging Muriel tightly, “You’ve saved us!”
“Why do I smell fire?” MC asked as they walked over to the kitchen, “Nadia, explain!”
“Lucio started a fire.”
“Oh my God,” MC said as they buried their head in both of their hands, “Did anyone get hurt?” they asked calmly, not bothering to move.
Nadia quickly took a glance at Lucio and Muriel. She knew very well that Lucio would complain like a little child had he gotten a single bruise. Muriel didn’t seem hurt either, in fact, he turned away, going back to his station as if nothing happened.
“No, sir, everyone is fine,” Nadia stated.
“Nadia, go back to the station, as for you Lucio,” MC raised their head, staring at Lucio as if they were about to murder him on the spot, “I want the oven spotless and you as far away from it as POSSIBLE!!!”
“Yes, yes, sir,” Lucio visibly shook as he got to work.
 “Come on, this is our chance!” Vulgora shouted as they cut some meat, handing it over to Vlastomil, “DON’T,” they said before Vlastomil could even start complaining.
“Is the shrimp pasta done?” Scout asked.
“We’re on it!” Volta said as Valdemar gave her a prepared sauce. She carefully poured it over the pasta, fighting the urge not to stuff her face with the food like yesterday. As soon as they were done, she carefully carried it over to Scout, who nodded in approval.
 Soon enough Valerius walked over, picking up the plate, taking a glance at both kitchens. Sure, his team was very slow, with only a couple of dishes out, but the other team was somehow far worse. He smirked as he walked over to the table.
“Your order,” he said as he put the plate down, “I hope you enjoy it,” he said with a smile plastered on his face as he walked over to the other table.
“Good evening,” he said as he eyed the customers, “How can I help you?”
“Oh, hi there~” a woman greeted him happily as she played with the blue fabric of the dress, “So, I’d like…” she stared at the menu for a moment, then pointed out at one dish, “This. As for the drink…” she thought for a moment, “I’d like some champagne!”
“Champagne along with that food?” Valerius asked, disappointed, as well as one of the men sitting with the girl.
“Seriously Star,” an older man shrugged, “Everyone knows that red wine would go much better with it.”
“Oh, then I’ll take the red wine,” she said, a bit embarrassed that she had to be corrected by her colleague.
“Agreed,” Valerius said as he wrote down her order, “What would you like, sir?”
“I’d like some pasta, no meat,” he added, “I’m a vegetarian.”
Valerius wrote the order down and, just before he could hand the order over to the opposite team, one of the customers called for him. He turned around, hiding his annoyance, “Is something the matter, sir?” he asked.
“Look at this crap!” the woman gestured at her plate, “It looks disgusting!”
Although he’d gladly agree with the woman, just because that would put the opposite team in a terrible position, Valerius knew there was nothing wrong with the dish. “My apologies, but I don’t seem to understand. What are you complaining about?”
“It’s too hot for me to eat it! And look at the colours!”
Valerius took another glance at the plate and after a moment continued talking with less patience, “What do you want me to do? To blow your food? Just wait for it to cool down like all of the civilized people for God’s sake. Stop wasting my time,” he said as he went back into the kitchen, handing Scout all of the orders.
“Hey, I’m not done!” she shouted as she walked over to chef MC, “Sir, you need to put your waiters in their place!” she shouted at MC, “I have never been disrespected like this in my entire life!”
“What a coincidence, I can say the same,” Valerius commented, unbothered, as he took the plates, walking away from her, adding, “Apologies for not cooling your food down.”
“See?” she pointed at Valerius, “I demand-”
“Miss, I’m working here,” MC said with a deep frown on their face, “Nobody has the time to listen to your stupid complaints,” they added as they wrote something down on the paper, “Please return when you have a reasonable complaint, if not, go to the psychiatrist and solve your issues. Don’t lash out your anger on my staff.”
“How bold of you to complain about my anger!” she wanted to continue, but as soon as she saw MC’s cold face, stopped, going back to her seat.
“Look at that idiot,” Vulgora laughed as they chopped some meat, taking a glance at Volta who was devouring the returned food, “Hey, what are you doing?!? Get back to your station!!!”
“Oh come on,” MC frowned as they watched Volta go back, “Speed it up, speed it up! Stop wasting time on the leftovers!”
Volta nodded, her mouth still full of food.
“My grandma would cook faster than all of you!” they shouted, taking a glance at how the other kitchen was doing, and oh boy, they had what to see.
The other kitchen was a mess. Portia accidentally spilt the boiling water on poor Lucio’s arm and it seemed that Asra and Muriel enjoyed the sight while Nadia and Julian pretended to not hear Lucio’s screams.
“Are you alright?” Portia asked, worried, “I’m so sorry!” she said as she grabbed his hand, only to find out that Lucio was pretending.
“Got ya!” he shouted like a little kid as he showed her his metal arm, “As for you,” he turned to the other three, but before he could make any remark, he noticed MC looking at them, their face turning redder and redder every moment.
“What in the world is going on?!?” they shouted, losing all of their patience. Within a moment the restaurant was closed and all of the chefs shivered in front of MC.
  “You were terrible, disgusting!” they shouted and paused, trying to calm themselves down, “You,” they turned to Volta, “I believe we’ve talked about not eating food during the job.”
“Yes, but Volta couldn’t help herself,” she quickly explained, “Volta is sorry-” she would have continued, but MC raised their hand, signalling for her to stop.
“Your team was so terribly slow-”
“But we were two cooks short! Of course, we’d be slow!” Vulgora protested.
“I know that,” MC stated calmly, “You were also most complimented, especially the meat dishes. Who was in the meat section anyway?” they asked as all of them pointed at Vlastomil. At the sight of him, MC couldn’t help but forget all of the rage they felt. After a good minute of laughter, they continued, “Seriously, you made the dishes?” they wiped off the tears in their eyes, “Good job. Keep it up,” they said as they left Vlastomil to dwell in his existential crisis.
“I…” Vlastomil said, not bothering to stare at the camera, “I’ve been a vegetarian my whole life! I’ve never had any meat in my house…” he paused for a moment, still trying to process MC’s compliment, “So why did people enjoy my food?”
 “As for you,” they turned to the other team, “Yesterday you were, you were amazing, how did it all change in one night? I believe it’s obvious who is the losing team. Muriel, you were the best of the worst, choose two candidates for the elimination,” with that, MC left the two teams on their own.
“Bye bye Lucio!” Vulgora grinned.
“What do you mean?! I’m not getting eliminated.”
After that sentence, everyone stared at him, thinking the same thing – could Lucio really be this dumb?
“What if, what if I get eliminated,” Portia started to get worried, “I mean, I could’ve seriously harmed someone,” she continued with her blabbering, “Oh, what will I do?” she started crying.
“Oh come on, don’t be like that,” Julian reassured her, “Everything will be fine.”
“No, it won’t!” Portia said, “I could have seriously hurt someone, do you think MC will let that slide?” she stared at Julian, her eyes becoming glossier.
“Look, you made no damage whatsoever,” Julian explained calmly as he tried to soothe his sister down, “That idiot could’ve burned the whole restaurant down.”
“Hey, don’t bring me into this!” Lucio shouted, “You did nothing the whole time! You were slow, unorganized and most of your dishes were returned!”
Julian ignored his comments, turning to Muriel, “Please don’t choose Portia,” he begged, “Choose me!”
Lucio turned to Muriel as well, “Don’t even think about choosing me!”
Muriel didn’t say a thing, instead, he just sighed, leaving the room.
“He… he won’t vote for me, right?” Lucio asked, feeling nervous.
~~~
“So, Muriel,” MC said as all of the chefs aligned, “Who do you choose and why?”
“I choose Lucio and Portia,” he felt shame as Portia’s name came out of his mouth, but there is no turning back now, “Lucio could’ve nearly burned the kitchen down had I not stepped in,” he simply explained, “As for Portia, she could’ve harmed someone with that boiling water,” he quickly added, trying to make Portia sound as good as possible, “Also, Lucio’s fake screams were completely immature. Such serious injuries shouldn’t be joked about.”
“Wait, please,” Julian walked out of the line, “I should be eliminated!” as soon as he said that, a smirk appeared on one certain doctor’s face, “I didn’t do anything when the fire started, I ignored Lucio’s cries and many people complained about my food! I, I’m not even a chef! I’m a doctor. There is no reason to keep me in the competition!”
MC stared at him, thinking about everything he said, “Very well then, if you’re so eager, join these two,” they gestured at Lucio and Portia.
“The person that will be eliminated from this competition is…” MC finally continued talking after a long pause, “Julian. Take your things and leave Hell’s kitchen.”
Despite the loss, Julian smiled brightly at MC. “Thank you for not choosing Pasha!”
“It, it’s happening!” Valdemar said happily as he stared at the camera, “Oh, what is this… feeling?” they stared at their hands, “Is it joy? Yes, it, it must be it, I have never felt so good. Oh, this is a dream come true, trust me, there is no better feeling than finally proving an idiot wrong. I just cannot wait to come back to my ordination, I should better start writing down the list of specimen I want!” they squealed like a high school girl, making the cameraman quite uncomfortable.
“Well, it sucks that I’ve lost the bet with Valdemar,” Julian admitted, “But at least my sister can keep going. I genuinely hope she can win and achieve her dream!” he said as he walked out of the Hell’s kitchen.

7:08 AM. 20**
What should I call you? But hi, diary. I am Saint. Saint Jung. Son of Jung Jaehyun and Y/N Jung. Today, I am seven years old. I asked Daddy Taeyong to buy me a really, really, really old diary. I don’t know where he found you, but I am glad to write on you.
Mom is busy, so is Dad. They said seventh birthday is important and must be grandiose (I hope I spelled that right). But to be honest, I want it to be as simple as possible. Since I am not really comfortable with parties. Dad insists I should wear suit (it’s itchy), but Mom only laughed at him and told me I should wear something casual.
Mom has been cooking all night long for my birthday. Dad said we could order food in a restaurant, or we could contact a famous chef from Seoul to cook my birthday dishes. I don’t know if this is my birthday or my parents’. I hope that doesn’t sound disrespectful.
Yesterday, my zipper’s bag snapped open because of its content. Gladly, I am already inside the limo when it happened. My classmates had thrown me an advanced birthday party at school. Judy, Heidi, Gale, and Anika gave me tons of chocolates. I hope I could eat it all but I have to share some for my family. Mom wouldn’t be pleased if I ever get toothache.
That’s it for today, diary.
P.S.: I heard Mom and Dad talking about my angel blood last night. I didn’t understand one bit of their conversation. But I hope I will, someday.
—
8:26 PM, 20**
Hi, diary. This is Saint Jung once again. We have written letters for our moms today. Miss Rona was pleased to read mine. She said the letter does not look like it came from a seven year old. Oh, I know, you’d like to read one of the excerpts of my letter right?
Well, here it is: Mom, thank you for shining like a star in our lives. You are the light in the darkness. I love you. And Dad.
That’s it. Was it too cheesy? I have to give the letter to Mom. I hope she does not cringe.
—
3:11 PM, 20**
This is Saint Jung. I already gave the letters to my Mom. She cried. So hard. I was afraid Dad would scold me when he returned from work. But he only sat with me on the veranda.
It’s odd. Because I was wearing my pajamas and Dad was wearing his suit. Someday, I’d like to be just like him.
He wasn’t mad. In fact, he was glad. And we’ve exchanged stories until I fell asleep.
“Mom cried,” Saint said, lips quivering. Jaehyun’s heart thudded because of his son’s face. He couldn’t believe this bundle of happiness is his own flesh and blood.
“Because she was so happy to read your letter,” He patted Saint on his head.
“Really?” the little boy asked, wiping his eyes off tears. Whenever he looked at his son, it was always like seeing the little version of him.
“Come here, bud.” He smiled. Saint sniffed before sitting on his lap, still wiping his eyes.
“Did I hurt Mom?”
Jaehyun let out a chuckle, “Of course, not. You made her so happy today. I am so proud of you, Saint.”
Then he kissed the little boy on the cheek. Saint giggled, flashing Jaehyun his two deep dimples.
“Will you write Daddy a letter, too?” He asked, hugging his son tighter.
“Of course, Daddy.”
The both of them held each other under the stars. With his arms draped around Saint, and the little hands of his son hugging his torso. They stayed like that for an hour. Exchanging little stories about Jaehyun’s work and Saint’s school.
“One day, I hope you’ll be happy as I am, Saint.” No response. Then Jaehyun heard soft snores from the little boy. He chuckled. Then he carried his son to his bed, tucked him in, and kissed his forehead.

 9:14 PM. 20**
Summer vacation has started. And we are here in Greece. All of us. Including my other daddies and Mama Yuqi, and Mama Chaelin. Mama Yuqi brought Zion with him.
Zion, he is my cousin. Mama Yuqi and Daddy Lucas’ son. He told me we should go explore Greece on our own. That boy. If I inherited my Dad’s silent demeanor, Zion inherited Daddy Lucas’ extroverted side. No wonder Mama Yuqi’s always on edge with him.
But of course, I said no to his offer. You might call me a bore. And I might be a bore. I just do not want to worry Mom. Dad would never like that. Mama Yuqi said Dad is the human embodiment of petrifying when he’s angry.
 —
 8:56 PM. 20**
Dad and Mom fought. Over apples. I don’t know if I should laugh, or cry. It’s their first time fighting. And it’s… because of an apple that wasn’t precisely cut.
I stumbled upon Mom and Dad hissing at the kitchen.
“You’ve been doing this for so long, chérie.” Dad said, frustration was clear in his voice.
“Why are you so sensitive today?” Mom asked.
Dad sighed of frustration, “Because—”
“Mom? Dad? Are you fighting?”
It was obvious that they were. But Mom quickly hugged Dad and pretended to wipe his mouth. “You are so like a child when you eat!” She pinched Dad on his cheek, and I know that hurts.
“We’re not, baby.” Dad said through his dimpled smile.
I shrugged and walked straight to the refrigerator and grabbed some milk. “Dad, what is ‘fuck’?”
By my words, Mom gasps. Dad choked on his apple.
“Where did you learn that word?” Mom asked, kneeling in front of me.
“Zion said it’s a magic word,” I told her, cupping the box of milk with my little hands.
Mom turned to Dad, “Call Lucas.” She said. Then she looked at me, “That’s a bad word, honey.”
I blinked, “Is it Mom? But Zion said it is a holy word. Because fuck creates babies.”
“Call. Lucas. Now!” Mom repeated, there was a warning in her voice that made Dad dashed for the telephone.
After that, Zion didn’t talk to me for weeks. Because according to him, I ‘betrayed’ our friendship. But then came his birthday, and my gift, he could not possibly say no to that. And he ended up forgiving me.
 —
 1:37 AM, 20**
Hi, this is Saint Jung. You’re probably wondering why I wrote this in such late time. I am now eighteen. Eighteen means parties, girls, and trouble. I just came back from one of Zion’s party. Uncle Lucas, (it’s odd to call him Daddy) and Mama Yuqi had gone to another country to celebrate their anniversary. Leaving their house to Zion’s hands.
Zion. Alone. Mansion. What did I expect?
It was a mess. There was trouble. Zion made out with different girls tonight.
But I didn’t. No. I did. I did make out with one girl from my class. Her name’s Veina. (Mom will prolly scold me for this)
We made out. And I think… this is so odd. I shouldn’t be doing this. I shouldn’t be writing this on here.
But her lips, damn, it was like velvet cake against mine. She smelled like lavender with a mix of strawberry. I could not name her scent exactly. She was unique.
 —
 3:42 AM, 20**
I got into a car accident. Right. The good boy Saint in an accident? A nightmare.
Mom was angry. Dad was furious.
I feel like shit when Mom cried at the hospital, I hate seeing her cry. And I hate myself to be the one causing her tears. All of my uncles has paid me a visit, with a lot of scolding and pinching ears. Uncle Doyoung was beyond furious, even furious than Dad. With what happened, he postponed giving me a Ferrari. Right. He promised me that car, months ago. But Saint has been a bad boy.
Zion was laughing and rolling on the floor when he visited me. The only thing that stopped him was the shout of Mama Yuqi.
And yes. I’d hate to say this, since I don’t want to sound so self-centered and narcissistic, but yeah, a lot of girls had been on the hospital to visit me. Of course, rudeness isn’t in my vocabulary. And I’d feel an absolute jerk if I didn’t show kindness to the girls. Mom is a girl. A woman. Call me old-school, but I believe that when you hurt a girl, it would be like hurting your own mom.
After all the commotion, Dad sat beside me. While Mom sleeps on the sofa. He sat beside me and I swear, my breath hitched when I saw tears in his eyes. Dad never cried. Or so I thought.
“Be careful next time,” was his words, before leaning in to me and kissing my forehead.
I know. Don’t judge me diary. I know it’s cheesy, and unmanly-like. But that’s my Dad. He’s loved every fiber of my being ever since I was born.
 —
 11:23 PM, 20**
I got into a fight. And we had to move houses because of the trouble I’d been into. Worrying Mom is on the very least of my priority. But I guess I’ve been born to worry her.
Some dickbag in school called Dad an alien. I have to be honest, Mom looked like she’s near her forties. Yet Dad looked like a twenty-three year old man. It doesn’t make sense to me, either. But hearing my Dad being called an alien has sparked an anger inside me I didn’t know existed.
So I threw the punch. And I hit him until he’s a bloody mess on the school hallway’s floor. Bad temper, I must admit.
And now we are here. Far from the city. In the middle of the forest. Near Uncle Doyoung’s mansion. Right.
Yes, Zion laughed at me until his chest hurts that he needed a nebulizer to help him breathe again.
 —
 4:09 AM. 20**
This is Saint Jung. Twenty-one at long last. I want you to know, diary, that I am writing this entry with bloodshot eyes and alcohol drowning my lungs.
It’s my first time to drink like this.
But what would you do if your mother and father told you that you’re half-mortal, half-angel? And that you would live a long life. Without a mother. And that your mother would be reincarnated someday? But the take is that she won’t be able to remember you.
It’s fucked up. It’s beyond me.
But now I understand. I understand why I seem to have this divinity inside me. Why I could run faster than Zion even in his wolf form. Damn, I should’ve known that something is up with me too, when Zion admitted that he is half-wolf, half-human to me.
I should’ve asked Dad when I felt my system convulsing with power. Of strength. Of something I did not understand then.
Dad. Wait, diary, I have to process this one. Give me a minute to breathe.
Dad is Lucifer. Right. The banished angel from heaven. The morningstar. The Prince of hell. He is a f u c k i n g angel. And I am a f u c k i n g nephilim. I would’ve ended up not believing it, if only Dad didn’t show his wings. Fuck. Sorry for the curses Mom. I had to.
I couldn’t process this in one night. But I need to. So Mom would never cry in front of my door again. Begging me to open it.
 —
 2:29 AM. 20**
Mom and I, we’ve talked. She showed me a picture of a girl with black hair and blue eyes and told me she was Aurora. Mom said it was her one hundred years ago.
Why am I only knowing all about this now? I don’t have any idea. But I am glad they deemed me worthy for this mind-boggling information.
Aurora was Mom’s face one hundred years ago. Aurora’s reincarnation was Mom today.
Mom said she would die one day. Her face would disappear from this world, but her soul will not. She said, with tears in her eyes, that I should wait for her to be back. I should wait for her be reincarnated again.
She’s my mother. She’s my everything. She’s the only flower in my garden. And Dad. Of course, I will wait for her even it takes her a thousand years to be back.
It hurts. I know that sounds weak. But it hurts. I am hurt. I don’t want to wake up one day without her. I think I’d rather die than be parted away from her.
“Saint,” Dad called out from behind my door. I stood up and laid the controller on the bed.
“A minute?” He asked. I nodded and guided him towards the veranda. It was frightening, to see Dad. He was so like me I always thought I’m looking at the mirror every time I stand face to face with him. He could pass as my doppelgänger. No joke.
“How are you, Saint?” He looked at the horizon of gleaming lights far away from us.
I propped my arms on the railings before answering, “Wrecked.” There’s no point in lying. Dad could smell a shit from miles away.
“I was like that when I knew about your mother’s real identity,” He smiled a bitter one at me. “Pushed her away. Like a douchebag in a cliché novel, said your Mama Chaelin.” Then he shook his head while sighing, “But where did all those pushing led me? Back to her.”
“That’s romantic, Dad. But forgive me if I am too hurt to comprehend.” I admitted.
Dad put his arms around my shoulder, pulling me closer to him. “We have to be strong for your Mom,”
Surprisingly, a hot feeling around my eyes blurred my vision. It took me a while to realized that I was crying. “I can’t lose Mom, Dad. I can’t.” was what I said between sobs.
Dad held me tighter and closer while I sob that night.
Losing Mom would be my downfall. It is the bane of my existence. I would simply shut down once it happens.

Happy Trans Billy Week!
Day 3: Bakery/Chef!au
@transbillyhargrove @blurbwitch
Harringrove
-
BIlly is ftm, Stevie is mtf
-
“At least just try her stuff. She’s really good!”
Robin was trying to sell Billy on her friend, again.
He had been working his ass off opening this cafe, had been interviewing professional bakers around the city for it. And Robin wanted him to hire her friend. Who baked for fun.
“And she’ll work in house! You would just have to pay her a salary, not give her a cut of everything sold.” Billy rolled his eyes.
“But then I would have to buy all the shit for her to bake everything.”
“But you’ll make bank on her stuff. She makes these little doughnut things, but they’re double fried and made with like, puff pastry.
“So not a doughnut at all.” She slapped his chest.
“Fuck you. People would pay like, five whole dollars for one ‘a those. At least just try.”
“Fine. Have her bring me some samples of stuff on Monday. I want cookies, coffee cakes, specialty pastries, crossiants, and whatever that not-doughnut thing is.” Robin grinned at him.
-
Robin came in on Monday trying to awkwardly bring a giant box into the cafe.
“Stevie couldn’t make it. She had a doctor’s appointment or something. But anyway, here’s what you asked for.” She placed it down on a table, pointing at everything.
“So she made chocolate chip cookies, gingersnaps, snickerdoodles, and teas cookies, croissants, coffee cake, carrot cake, chese cake, that doughnutty-thing, actual doughnuts, brownies and lemon bars. I think she didn’t sleep for like, four days.”
Billy was impressed. It was a good spread.
“She also made me bring a loaf of sourdough in case you’re doing like, toast stuff. I said you weren’t, but I think she feels bad for not being here.”
They tried everything.
And unfortunately, is was all fucking delicious.
“Fine. She’s fucking hired.” Billy made a list of everything he wanted to sell, thought maybe the delicious not-doughnuts could be a bit of a speicality, new flavors every week. “I’ll need a comprehensive list of ingredients, and she’ll probably have to check out the set up we got here.”
Billy hadn’t really wanted an in-house baker, but he hadn’t ripped out the ovens, proving drawers, coolers and counters in the back, so he supposed it would work out okay.
“And tell her I want an in person meeting within the next few days.”
-
Billy was scrubbing out one of the ovens in the back when he heard the bell above the door.
“Sorry, we’re closed,” He called.
“Um, I’m Stevie Harrington? I’m Robin’s baker friend? You said I should come see the space?” Billy got up with a groan, stretching until his back popped.
“You tellin’ me, or askin’.” He pushed open the back door, smirking at the girl standing on the other side of his counter. She was tall, had much fucking dark hair, falling almost to her ass and big round eyes.
“Telling. I’m sorry I couldn’t be here yesterday. That appointment was important. Billy shrugged. “I have a list of ingredients for you. I figured how many of each item per day, and broke it up into waht I would need weekly and monthly, since I don’t know how you’re planning on ordering everything.” Billy nodded at the neat handwriting.
“Your stuff was good. I was thinking for those double fried things, we could do a new flavor every week. Make them a bit of a specialty.” Her cheeks went a little pink.
“Thank you. I’m so glad you liked everything, and decidded to give me this opportunity.” He smiled at her.
“You’re talented. Come see what I got.” She followed him to the back, her eyes going wide as she looked at the industrial ovens. “This place was a bakery, so we’ve got everything you should need.” The old owner had passed away, didn’t have anyone to leave the bakery to.
“Oh, this is perfect. When’s opening?”
“We’re four weeks out. I was planning on ripping all this out, so it has to be cleaned, but everything else is ahead of schedule.” Stevie opened an oven, peerinf inside.
“They’re not too gross. The old owners tool good care of everything.” She took of her jacket, was left just in her pretty dark blue dress. “I’ll help you clean.” She smiled at him as she took the cleaning supplies from him, getting to work scrubbing down the oven.
Billy played some music as they worked, chatting lightly to one another.
“So, how’d you end up in Seattle?” Billy had shot straight up here after graduating hisgh school, didn’t want to leave the west coast, but wanted to go somewhere different. Stevie had mentioned being from a small town in the midwest.
“Just kinda needed a fresh start. Robin and I moved out here together about six years ago, now. She went to University of Washington, and I jsut wanted to live somewhere interesting for once. Plus, it’s just better for me here.” Billy nodded.
“Me too.” She smiled at him. She had put her dark hair into a messy bun to keep it out of her face, and Billy had gotten her an apron to keep her dress neat.
“What made you want to open a cafe?”
“Well, I mean, it’s Seattle.” She laughed. “But I also just liked the idea of running my own business. Building something from the ground up. And I like the vibe of cafes. They’re just in between places. You can come alone and just hang out.”  Billy had gotten many comfortable mis-matched chairs and placed them amoungst the tables and chairs. He wasnted it to be cozy. He had bookshelves on one wall, thought he could even have a take-a-book-leave-a-book kinda thing goin’ on.
“I think that’s really nice.”
-
Stevie started coming over everyday to help him clean out the kitchen. Somteims she would drag Robin, but more often than not, it was just the two of them, scrubbing everything out, listening to music and talking about random things.
But one day Stevie didn’t come in, didn’t call Billy to let him know, didn’t send Robin with a message.
Billy thought he was frustrated that his employee was missing, but really, he was just worried.
She looked tired the next day when she came in, her hair up in a messy ponytail, was wearing baggy jeans and a sweatshirt.
“I’m so sorry. I promise that will not happen again.” She had gotten right to work.
“Look, I don’t mind if you need personal days, just call me. Let me know.” She nodded at him, her eyes were bright. “Are you okay?” Her lip trembled.
“I’m sorry. I just, sometimes I have such bad days, and I can’t stand to look at myself, and I don’t want anyone else to look at me. And you’re always so nice to me, and I, I didn’t want you looking at me with your pretty eyes. I knew I would fucking fall apart.”
She was kneeling on the floor, fucking crying as she scrubbed at the proving drawer. Her make up was beginning to run just a bit.
Billy grabbed a fw paper towels, sitting down next to her.
“You wanna talk about it?” She shook her head.
“You wouldn’t understand.”
“Try me.” She wiped at her esys, smudging the dark makeup underneath. He took the paper towel from her hands, wiping up streaked makeup.
He was staring into her big dark eyes, noticed the soft honey gold in them, the forest green.
“Is it okay if I kissed you?” Her gaze dropped to his lips.
“Yeah,” she breathed.
Billy leaned in, kissing her softly, keeping it slow and chaste.
He pulled back, dabbing at her eyes again.
“I’ve wanted to do that for a while. I’m sorry, that probably wasn’t the best timing, I just, I really like you.” Her lip trembled.
“The reason, the reason I was feeling so bad yesterday was, was because everytime I speak to my parents on the phone, they call me their son.” She swallowed hard.
“The last time I spoke to my dad, he called me his ungrateful bitch of a daughter. I get it, Stevie. I really do.” Stevie whimpered, another tear slipping out.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t, didn’t know if I could tell you.” He smiled at her, wiping her eyes one last time, kissing her cheek.
“That’s okay. You don’t have to tell anyone anything.” She gave a watery laugh.
“Thank you, for being kind to me.”
“You’re a good person, Stevie. You deserve kindness.” She smiled at him, pulling back to take a deep breath. “And I meant what I said. I really like you. I’d like to take you on a date, if that’s okay.”
She nodded vigorously, ponytail bouncing.
“Oh, yeah! I had the biggest crush on you since I walked in here. I mean, Robin’s been trying to set us up for like, months.” BIlly raised one eyebrow, giving her a lopsided smile.
“Are you serious? Is that why she was so insistent on me trying your stuff?”
“Well, and that fact that I’m a damn good baker.” He laughed. She was grinning as she moved back to scrubbing the drawer. “She’s gonna be so smug. I can already hear her. Stevie, I TOLD you that you would love him. He’s JUST yout type.” Billy grinned iwder.
“And what is your type?”
“Beefy assholes that’re way smarter than me.”

Zuko x Ama (OC)
Word Count: 10,100+
.☽☟☞.
~ Ama ☞ ~
         Marriage. Probably one of the most exciting and terrifying things in a person's life. It might take couple's years to finally come to the conclusion that they were ready for it. For some others it might take less time. It was a life changing decision. And then once you make that decision the planning starts.
         It would be a stressful few months. The two main participants may be met with hesitation during the time or just the opposite. Their trust for their partner could get stronger. In the end, if the couple chooses to go through with the union, they'd spend the rest of their lives together.
         They'd share incredible moments that they just couldn't do with family or friends. It was the married couple that would share that moment if or when they have a child. They'd share the joy of having a family. They'd live and grow old together.
         Growing up in the patriarchal society of the Water Tribe, many of us women longed for marriage since we were little girls. We'd dream of falling in love and then having as many kids as we could. Mom used to tell Katara and I the story of how she met dad on repeat. She described her marriage ceremony as one of the most incredible moments of her life and that having us was the most fulfilling part of her life.
         So as kids, my sister and I would plan our weddings. Talk about our dream guy and then describe what our dress would look like in detail. I'd even go as far and plan how I'd want the reception to go. We couldn't wait to find romance.
         Years ago, when I was with Mulan, I gave up on the plan for marriage. Not because I wanted to, I just didn't think it would have been possible. It wasn't like the Earth Kingdom allowed same-sex couples to marry each other. So that huge ceremony and reception was going to be traded by buying our house. And having kids was to be traded with housing the rejected ones.
         During those years with the gorgeous warrior bastard, I had an epiphany that younger me didn't understand. Marriage wasn't about the decorations or the dress. Not even about the people that were attending. It was about two people wedding each other. About declaring to each other and themselves that they were wholeheartedly given themselves to the other.
         And that was what today meant for Katara and Aang.
         With the wedding just a few short hours away, there wasn't a single person who wasn't tasked with something to do. Servants were running around with last minute touches and the chefs were already busy preparing the appetizers and dishes.
         But the worst, most heartbreaking part of the morning of the wedding day, is that the bride and groom have to be separated; according to Aang and Katara. Those two were attached at the hip. I didn't know if it was just because I'd been gone for so long, but those two somehow became even clingier. In my mind it shouldn't have to be such a big deal. I mean, it was only a couple hours then they'd be together as a married couple. They've been apart for longer than that.
         But they were in love. It was their day. Their moment. They had every right to feel however they wanted. And if I was being honest, I could use some of Aang's magic touch right about now. Because Katara was beyond jittery.
         "Sis, you made sure that the dress was cleaned and everything?" She hustled across the bridal prep room with a brush in her hand. The room was extravagant. It was one of the very few things that Katara let Malina take care of. And my step-mother truly outdid herself.
         The soft blue themed prep room was set in one of the guest bedrooms of the palace. Along one wall, a long table was set and multiple mirrors were placed across each of the six plush chair. The bridesmaids dresses were hung on a silver dress rack, whereas the bride's dress was hung in a separate rack more delicately.
         Most of us bridesmaids were already prepared with our makeup and hair, since Katara's paranoid ass kept needing to check something, she ended up being the last one to get seated for her makeup.
         I let out a soft sigh, letting my head fall into my hand. "For the tenth time today. Yes, Katara. You just need to relax."
         My sister let out a peeved scoff, sitting in her chair for Ty Lee to style her hair. "Relax." She grumbled like that was an impossible task. "I'm very relaxed. Totally not like this is one of the most important days of my life and there's a large possibility that we might get attached by some psycho." Her nervous, forced laugh worried me.
         "Katara, your aura is very, uh, dark blue. Are you sure you don't just need a breather before I start your hair?" Ty Lee gave my sister a concerned look through the mirror as she ran her hand through Katara's chocolate hair.
         Katara tensed up and she already started to stand up. "Well if we're going to have a break then I'm going to go over the-"
        "Nevermind." Ty Lee firmly seated Katara back down.
         "Hey, Katara," Toph started to question as she nibbled on a cookie. "The kale cookies are great and all, but why couldn't we get some of that seal jerky as a pre-ceremony snack."
         "Because they make your breath smell bad." Katara stated matter-of-factly.
"Aren't mints a thing?" Mai wondered. She sat at one of the makeup stations, fixing her eyeliner for the fifth time. Which made me realize that everyone was feeling some nerves for today. Because if Mai was putting so much detail into something so small, she was worrying about something.
         Suki pointed at Mai in agreement. "Yeah, I was thinking the same thing."
         "Oh, well I'm sorry if I decided that kale cookies were a better choice than seal jerky. It's not like I had a million other things on my mind." Katara snapped. Everyone's jaws dropped and Ty Lee paused with the hair.
         "Okay." I mumbled softly to just myself. I set down my tiny glass of champagne and went over to my sister. "I think we need to have a quick chat." I grabbed my sister's hand and led her off the seat. Luckily Ty Lee had only been brushing her hair and didn't start on the actual hairstyle. I dragged Katara to the bathroom, which was conveniently attached to the room. "Need to vent?"
         Katara closed her eyes, breathing in deeply and then letting it out. "I don't think I can do this." She said suddenly, leaning her body on the sink. She let her head hang slightly, making her hair hide her face.
         My eyes widened in shock. "What?"
         "I just." She groaned in frustration and balled her hands into fists. "There's other things to worry about, like Azula. And everyone else is pushing it under the rug like it isn't a big deal. Is it even right to be having a celebration when we're almost positive that she's planning something for tonight."
         I grabbed my sister's straining fists and forced them open to hold her hands. "Katara, listen to me. If you call off the wedding, you're giving Azula the satisfaction." My sister turned her head to look at me. "She wants people to be scared. By going on with the wedding you're showing her that no matter what she throws, she can't shake you."
         Katara kissed her teeth. "Well, I don't want her to think that she scares me." A light chuckled left our lips.
         With a comforting smile, I continued to speak. "But it's also your day. If you want to have it without worrying about Azula, that is okay. But it's your choice."
         Katara looked away in thought for a moment before shaking her head. "No. Aang and I decided together to go through with this. Azula or not. We love each other. And... I don't want to wait another day."
         "Alright then." I nodded, pulling her off the sink counter by the hand. "Shall we finish getting ready?" I motioned back into the room.
         Katara nodded with a thin smile and led the way back out. She went straight to the seat in front of Ty Lee. "Okay, ladies. Let's get a move on." Ty Lee grinned happily and immediately went back to work.
         "And we," I pointed to the other three girls, cocking up an elated eyebrow. "Should get into our dresses."
         Toph groaned loudly and threw her head back. "Already?" She asked, shuffling unenthusiastically to the dress rack.
         "Yes, already." I responded in a mocking tone as I took my dress off the rack.
         None of us girls felt uncomfortable getting undress and slipping on our formal apparel in the same room. But I still faced away from them. Despite knowing the group for so many years and fighting by their side, the last thing I wanted was to make any of them feel uncomfortable now that I was out.
         My outfit was more proper than it was yesterday to greet our royal and close guests. My medium purple dress floated just barely above the floor with dainty, silver spiral stitchings on the skirt. The formal dress would eventually be paired with a traditional deep blue parka, just not to be worn inside do obvious reasons.
         I gently smoothened the skirt, to busy myself for a moment. "Is it safe to turn around?" I wondered out loud, fixing my eyes on the wall.
         "We're all dressed, if that's what you want to know." Suki responded. I nodded and finally turned around in a casual manner. My jaw almost dropped at how elegant and gorgeous they all looked.
         Everyone wore respectable attire from their own nation. Katara didn't like the idea of having all of us in the same gowns. In fact, she despised it entirely. Instead, my sister found it more appealing to have everyone wear clothing from their own cultures to represent the harmony of all nations during this occasion.
         "You know you didn't have to turn around, Ama." Suki claimed while she hustled to the makeup table where she had previously set her things down.
         I shrugged and followed her halfway till I took a seat beside my sister. "I know, I just don't want anyone to feel awkward about it."
         "I wouldn't mind if you checked me out, though." Toph smirked in all her self confidence. "I don't know what I look like, but I do know that I look good."
         The room echoed our giggles and laughs. I shook my head at her with an amused grin. "I will say Toph, you are very good-looking." I told her. The earthbender shook her fist in the air proudly.
         "Hey, Ama. Can you hold Katara's hair while I pin it?" Ty Lee asked me. The girl's attention was almost completely focused on Katara's hair as she finished the last touches on the bun. I nodded immediately and got up from my seat to assist her. "Right here." She instructed, and I held the braid that was wrapped around the tight bun.
Only the top half of Katara's hair was put up while the rest of it fell down freely in it's flowy curls. And in front of each of her shoulders rested segments of her hair with Water Tribe medallions tied near the bottom.
         "Alright, done." Ty Lee grinned in satisfaction and took a gentle leap backwards.
         Katara took a minute to stare at her hair in awe. "Ty Lee, this is beautiful." She expressed her appreciation quietly and her hand went up to cover her mouth. Her face already started to scrunch up as she was about to cry.
         "Nuh uh, honey." I shook my head and pulled her out of her seat, deliberately ruining her touchy moment. "The waterworks are going to have to wait till later tonight." Katara nodded in response and looked up to keep the building tears from ruining her makeup.
         "You haven't even put your dress on yet." Mai commented dryly.
         "Which you should probably put on right now because we have a wedding ceremony to be at soon." I pointed out. My sister leveled her head back to laugh nervously.
         In a hasty walk, I grabbed the bride's gown from the rack and brought it back to my sister, who'd stripped to her undergarments. We were quick but cautious when slipping on the white shirt and the silk blue accented top layer. The dressed hugged Katara around the waist and flared lightly at the skirt. Suki passed me the white, blue stitched parka and I helped Katara into it. I then went around back, laying out the short dress train on the floor behind her before standing to the side.
         Katara smoothened out the few creases and then looked up to see herself in the full length mirror. This wasn't the first time she's seen herself in the dress, obviously. But given that it was the first time seeing herself being completely glammed up, she was likely to feel a bit emotional. Not to mention, she looked exactly like she was going to when she'd walk down the aisle to her soon-to-be-husband.
         Katara let out a dreamy sigh and smiled in the mirror. I lightly bit my lip and stepped next to her, viewing the two grown sisters that stood in the reflection. "You look just like mom." I noted softly. Katara turned to look at me with her bright, but doleful smile. "She would have loved to be here."
         With one swift movement, my sister pulled in into a hug. "But you're here." She whispered. I was left speechless for a second. Katara was always the one who was the most motherly. The caretaker. I regrettably, would spend less of my time helping around the village and more time getting into trouble. But it never occurred to me that even then, I was the older sister that Katara looked up to. I was the one who'd tell her not to let others push her around and to stand her ground no matter what. I had a different 'motherly' style that only Katara could understand.
         I hugged her back even tighter. And when we let go, Katara leaned her head up, dabbing her fingers along the bottom of her eyes. I laughed at her loudly at her and shook my head.
         "Hate to break up the very touchy sister moment, but we have a wedding to get to." Toph's assertive voice reminded us while she crossed her arms over her chest.
         Katara exhaled shakily but smiled cheerfully. "Let's get me married." The room erupted in cheers before we all grabbed our fluffy coats and headed down to the carriage.
         The entire ride there, Katara couldn't shake off her cheeky grin. Or her blush when we teased her about how she couldn't stop smiling. And for a moment, we forgot about Azula. We grinned and laughed while Katara probably felt a flood of nerves.
         The wedding ceremony was taking place on one of the cliff sides. It had the perfect view of the ocean from one side and of the Water Tribe city from another. The ceremony was attended by no one other than Aang and Katara's closest friends and family. Everyone agreed that they didn't want any rushed portraits or questions from reporters or the loud crying from some aunties.
         The carriage came to a stop a few feet from the entrance. The arched passageway was entirely made of ice with swirling carvings that made the sunlight reflect off of it divinely. There were guards on every corner, standing still and on high alert. The two groomsmen, Sokka and Haru, stood by the entrance eagerly along with dad and two of our little cousins, one held a tiny basket of rose petals and the other a small pillow with the rings, awaiting our arrival.
         "Right on time." Sokka smoothly came over offering his hand to escort Katara down.
         "Yeah, Ama didn't hold us up this time." Suki just had to bring that up as she slipped her hand into her boyfriend's to step down. Sokka pressed a gentle kiss on her hand before holding his hand out for me.
         I sighed loudly and let him escort me down. "You guys aren't going to let this go anytime soon are you?"
         "No, never." Sokka chirped. I kissed my teeth in annoyance and rolled my eyes.
        "Milady." A voice surprised me, making me jump away slightly. I looked to the voice, seeing Haru hold out a bridesmaid bouquet to me.
         I took it and gave him an awkward flat smile. "Thank you." As soon as I took it, I moved away. Haru was a nice person, it was just painfully awkward to be around him. We just never talked where we were younger, and now it was like there was no way we'd become close friends.
         I spotted my dad a few feet away, dressed in his best head chieftain coat. I headed over to him, letting him embrace me in a hug. "You and your sister look stunning." he complimented me.
         I huffed a laugh and pulled away. "Yes, well, despite it being Katara's day. I still outshine her with my beauty." I quipped with an overdone posh accent.
         My dad laughed with me and then glanced at the aisle entrance. "Hopefully, your own wedding day won't be too far from now." He had a hint of hope in his eye. "I will gladly welcome any man or woman you bring into the family." My lips tugged into an appreciative smile. But, like many moments that day, it had to be ruined.
         "Okay, people. Get into formation. It's a go on the wedding." Sokka directed with a grin. Katara came over to link her arm with dad while I took my maid of honor spot in front of her. My two little cousins skipped over to stand in front of me. And the rest of the group took their spots.
         I looked back at Katara. Her smile, reasonably held many emotions. Anxiousness, joy, hope. The sound of music was my cue to look back in front of me. My friends walked down in pairs, pacing themselves and giving each other a good distance. All eyes were on us. Well, more eyes were on the tiny children who were in awe with throwing the rose petals and walked a bit slower than the others.
         I giggled at them lightly while they unevenly scattered the red petals. When I looked up, I noticed Zuko standing beside Aang. The poor airbender was shifting anxiously, waiting for Katara to step into the aisle.
        Zuko, well, he stood there calmly in all his Fire Lord glory. His smile widened a bit more seeing that I met his gaze. My heart sped up just a touch and I wasn't sure whether I was blushing or not.
         Spirits, if I was blushing I hoped no one took notice.
         Not that I had to worry about that for much longer. Because the second Katara stepped out in her magnificent gown and with her glowing complexion, she was the center of attention. Aang froze in his spot and his face softened. I swear I saw a tear in his eye. It was beautiful.
         That was the story my mom would tell us. How all eyes were on her, but it felt like it was just her and dad. I wondered if that was how Katara was feeling. If that anxiety she was feeling vanished once seeing the love of her life standing at the altar.
.☽☟☞.
         There was a momentary pause in the joyous feeling as the guests from the ceremony transferred to the reception. The venue was packed with extended family, village friends, reporters. Some kids were even running around in their little games of tag.
         The place was absolutely gorgeous. The walls were decorated with traditional animal skins, the lanterns and tiny lights reflected off of the ice sculptures. The combination of the Water Tribe and Air Nomad culture into one place gave the room a unique feeling to it. It wasn't a bad feeling in the slightest. It was a more comforting and harmonious one.
          My aunties immediately pulled me to the side to compliment my dress and hair. And then, of course, asked when my wedding would be. Interesting how they didn't ask Sokka these questions, but I just let it go.
         "You are a beautiful, young lady Ama."
          "And well over the age of 16, when will you allow one of these fine men to sweep you off your feet."
         "Or that handsome Fire Lord. You two made such a good-looking couple."
         I'd just laugh nervously and tell them that I just wasn't ready for any of it quite yet. I was starting to feel overwhelmed with the constant nagging and questions. I mean, what were they expecting me to say? That I was desperate to get married and just waiting for the perfect man? I was half tempted to tell them that I never planned to get married just to get them to stop. Sure they'd gossip, but I didn't want the conversation to continue.
         I felt someone slide their hand on my upper back. The touch was so delicate that it was almost like a feather. Turning my head up to see who if was, I wasn't disappointed. Zuko stepped in, kindly smiling at all my aunts. "Pardon the interruption, ladies, but Ama and I are needed."
         I nodded in agreement, remembering that he was talking about the married couple's arrival. "Of course, take her for as long as you need." Auntie Ashuna swat her hand for us to shoo and the other women giggled.
         I sighed heavily as Zuko and I walked away from the table and towards the venue entrance. "Thank you." I chuckled.
         "Why, of course." He gently bumped his shoulder to mine. "What kind of friend would I be if I let you continue getting tortured by overbearing aunts."
         I smiled at him and leaned my back on the wall right beside the door, giving me a good view of the outside so that I'd be able to tell when Katara and Aang would be arriving. "Who's watching Suh?" I wondered, peering outside.
         "Suki and Ty Lee." He glanced over to where they were seated. "So far, she hasn't been showing any signs of Azula's arrival."
         "Right." My brows bounced in an unbelieving way. "The night of the bachelorette party she kept looking out the window. Has she not done anything like that?"
         Zuko took a moment to think back. "She's been avoiding the appetizers like the plague." He said with a straight face, being completely serious.
         "How helpful." I deadpanned and rolled my eyes. Zuko scrunched up his face when he looked at me. What an absolute buffoon. But an adorable buffoon. My brow cocked up and I crossed my arms. "Suh only eats meals, thought you'd notice that after 6 months. Keep thinking."
         The firebender scoffed and vexingly shook his head at me. "You know, I don't see you keeping an eye on Suh. Why don't you look after her if you're so good at finding red flags."
         "Don't know if you know this, Zuko. But my sister is got married tonight." My tone was expressionless and I kept my eyes on the outside. The sun was just starting to set, giving the sky an orange tint. "Besides, isn't she your girlfriend?"
         I didn't see Zuko's facial reactions, but I heard his chuckle and I felt his hot breath right by my ear. "You're jealous." He teased in a low whisper. It almost sent shivers down my spine. But I didn't want to give him the satisfaction of seeing me bothered.
         "Jealous?" I scoffed back and narrowed my eyes roughishy at him. "Please, the only thing I'm jealous about her are her lips. They're very full and pretty." That wasn't a lie, technically. Suh was a gorgeous woman, and her lips were definitely a beautiful feature.
         "Maybe. But I think I'd prefer having your lips on mine than hers." Zuko smirked proudly at his smooth remark. And if I wasn't blushing before, I definitely was now. "Already got you blushing, love?" He was far too confident. All those years away must have really helped him grow away from that awkward teenage mentality.
         I snapped my attention back on the outside, avoiding his gaze. "Let's just focus on Suh and Azula for now." Wow, I really was out of the loop on the whole flirting thing. Then I saw them. Katara and Aang flew down on Appa's saddle and settled into the snow. "They're here." My feet scurried to the drummer, signaling for him to declare the arrival.
         He in turn raised his arm high up in the air before letting it fall on his instrument once. The low vibrations of it resonated throughout the large celebratory room. Then he banged the drum again. And by the third time, everyone's eyes were anxiously on the door.
         When Katara and Aang walked with their arms linked, the room exploded in cheers and claps for the newlyweds. Katara blushed immediately and leaned into her husband. The two were glowing in jubilance.
         Zuko and I approached them, taking their parka's off. "How do you feel?" I had to ask my overjoyed sister.
         "Happy." She sighed dreamily in her confident response. Her eyes sparkled like a diamond.
         Aang held his arm out to Katara once his coat was off. "Shall we?"
         She in turn hooked her arm in his once again. "We shall." She giggled. They walked forward to the middle of the dance floor, where they'd have their first dance.
         The band started the song softly. Aang held Katara close while he slowly spun her and swayed to the sides. Their focus was only on each other for the romantic song. Of course, the guests stood around the dance floor, giving them their space, while they awed and whispered about how perfect they looked.
         My hand went over my heart as I smiled blissfully at the scene. Just this morning my sister was hustling from corner to corner, concerned about every tiny detail and was so close to canceling everything. And now here she was with a cheeky smile and looking into the eyes of the man she loves.
         The celebration went on beautifully and so far without problems. The traditional katajjaq was performed by my aunts. The impressive throat-singers imitated the sounds of water and air with low humming and heavy breaths. Young waterbenders performed beautifully with a flowing dance.
         During dinner, Zuko and I gave our toasts. Of course, the Fire Lord gave some emotional speech about how much he appreciated the airbender. How Aang was one of the first people to trust him to save the world together. Whereas Katara was the last person to trust him. The two balanced each other out and were perfect for one another.
         My speech was a bit less formal than that. I couldn't pass up the chance of telling a short story about Katara's first crush, who I completely forgot was attending the reception. My sister's face turned scarlet red in embarrassment the entire time. But even I could get a few tears in when I expressed how glad I was that she found someone who could make her so happy.
         Soon enough, the real party started. The music became more upbeat, more alcohol was being consumed, and the dance floor was packed. I stood off to the side, watching my friends dance in pairs. Toph jammed to the music with her just as rambunctious boyfriend, Kanto. Even Mai was having a good time being spun by Kei Lo.
         I wasn’t really in the dancing mood. And it totally wasn’t because I didn't have anyone to dance with. Instead, I would occasionally do a perimeter check or quickly chat with one of the guards about anything suspicious. Anything to make myself feel useful.
         Suddenly, a hand grabbed my wrist to pull me onto the dance floor. I was taken by complete surprise when they spun me into them. But once seeing who it was, I just scoffed and rolled my eyes. “Sokka, you could have just asked for a dance.”
         My brother just shrugged while he took my hand to lead me in a dance. “Yeah, but it’s funnier to see how your face scrunches up when caught off guard.” He laughed in amusement and I lightly punched his shoulder. “Have any of the guards seen anything?” His expression turned more serious, but he kept a smile on for the appearance.
         “Nothing out of the ordinary.” I answered and as Sokka turned me, I took a peek in Zuko and Suh’s direction. They were having a normal conversation as they swayed side to side. Nothing about it looked malicious.
         “It’s weird right?” Sokka asked me with a wry look.
         “Huh?” My brows pinched together lightly and my head tilted in a questioning way.
         My brother discreetly pointed his chin in the direction of Zuko and Suh. “Seeing Zuko act all in love with a girl he doesn’t even like. I mean, I’ve never even seen him dance before.”
         I huffed a laugh but nodded in agreement. “I think the only time he danced was that one time with the dragons.”
         “Not even with you?” Sokka was in shock, but I didn’t see how that was such a surprising thing. Zuko was a pretty awkward person as a teen. I mean, he wouldn’t even touch my boobs until months after we started dating. I just shook my head with a thin smile.
         “I’m back.” Suki announced herself right beside us. I smiled at her and stepped away from my brother to let his girlfriend go back to dancing.
         “I’m going to go look around again.” I pointed my thumb in a random direction away from the dance floor.
         Sokka threw his head back and groaned loudly. “Ama, just dance for a bit. There’s a reason we got a bunch of guards around.”
         “You’re brother is right, loosen up a bit.” Suki agreed with her boyfriend. Shaking my head, I started to back away from them, ignoring their judging looks.
         “Ama!” I heard a young voice call out to me as I was making my way out. Curiously, I scanned my surroundings for the voice. “Ama!” They called again just closer. Then I spotted the source. Kiyi was maneuvering herself through the sea of people.
         I grinned at her once she finally got to me. “Kiyi! What can I do for you?” I asked in a cheery tone.
         The twelve year old smiled cheekily and grabbed my hand, pulling me back into the crowd. “Dance with me!”
         I laughed and put my free hand over my heart. I adored Kiyi. And it made me glad that she still had that ecstatic personality with me, even though it's been years since seeing her. I even took notice of the woven bracelet she wore, which was the one I sent her and her mother years ago.
         I gave in, following her willingly into the dancefloor again. The tween had a more flamboyant style to her dancing. She’d jump and bounce her head, absolutely ruining her pinned up hair. I moved my hands in a wave motion, bobbing my head to the beat. Occasionally I’d give Kiyi a little twirl.
         I looked over at my friends closeby. Katara left Aang’s grip and danced over to us. Bopping her head and bouncing her shoulders. Kiyi let out a melody of a giggle, grabbing Katara’s hand and twirling herself.
         I grinned widely at the moment, enjoying every moment. Looking to the side, I spotted Zuko looking over. He smiled at me and pointed at Kiyi with a questioning, yet amused, look. Her arms were flying all over the place and she jumped up into the air, incredibly off beat. But she had the attitude, which was what mattered most.
         I turned my head, glancing through the crowd. My heart fell in moments. Just outside of the dancefloor, I saw him. His scar stuck out like a sore thumb. He was completely expressionless as he walked from one side to the other. But, the most chilling thing was that he was looking right at me. Our eyes locked for just one horrifying moment.
         But as quickly as I saw him, he disappeared behind the crowd.
         I stopped my dancing and was completely oblivious to the rest of my surroundings as I walked out into the sides of the crowded floor. The outside of the dance floor was pretty empty. There were the round tables where some of the guests were sitting and talking. So I should have been able to spot him quickly. But he was gone. My heartrate picked up and I started to breathe more heavily as I continued to walk further into the sea of tables.
         Katara emerged from the crowd, looking at me with wide eyes. My eyes stayed glued on the direction he disappeared in as I walked towards her at a fast pace and shaking my head.
         “Sis, what is it?” She demanded to know, gently placing her hand on my exposed shoulder.
         “I thought I saw Mulan’s killer.” My tone was exasperated and breathy. “But he’s gone now.”
         My sister immediately went on high alert and scanned the room. “Okay. I’m going to get Sokka and the others. You stay here and keep an eye out.” She promptly and hastily went back into the crowd to get the others.
         Stay here. Keep and eye out. Control your breathing.
         With a hard and dry gulp, I kept my eyes open and alert. I didn’t realize how dry my throat was until now. I knew that Katara told me to stay there, but if I walked around a bit then maybe I’d spot him again. Plus the bar wasn’t that far.
        In a quick walk, I made my way to the tall bar. There was only was person working there, which was odd because there should have been at least two people at the bar at all times. I kept a wary look and approached it carefully. The man working had his back turned to me, but once I was close enough he turned around. His pitch black hair and devilish smirk made me step back quickly.
         They weren't planning to just attack unannounced. They infiltrated the wedding. And now they weren’t even trying to hide anymore.
         With wide eyes, I grabbed the skirt of my dress, pulling it up a bit to sprint back to where Katara said to wait. I needed to warn her. That was when everything went to chaos. The ice sculptures collapsed into water, the fire in the lanterns progressively got bigger and more frightening and a bolt of lightning was shot into the center of the room. It didn’t hit anything or anyone, it was just for the fear factor.
         The venue erupted in screams and everyone immediately started to scatter to different directions. I kept my eyes peeled for any of my friends throughout the blur of people. The front doors shut loudly, preventing anyone from leaving.
         I didn’t know what to do. So I pressed on towards the dance floor, since that’s where everyone was running from. “Ama!” A hand grabbed me and pulled me towards them. Okay, how many times is someone doing to grab my wrist and almost pull my arm off tonight?
         Whoever grabbed me had armor under their clothing, because their chest was hard. I knew because I was pulled right into them. “Zuko!” I exclaimed in relief. “Where’s everyone else?”
         He opened his mouth to respond but a flash of lightning made us both flinch back and cover our faces. The high-pitched screaming in the background wasn’t helping the building anxiety I was having.
         I removed my hand from my face, and my jaw immediately clenched. Azula stode right to the opposite side of the now cleared dance floor. A vast majority of the guests quivered under the tables or were huddled together; the men typically stood on the outside to defend anyone.
         Azula no longer looked like royalty. Her matted dark clothing made her look like she was just another criminal. The only thing that stood out about her attire was the bold red lipstick. But the way she moved and smirked villainously, it commanded for people to respect and listen to her.
         Azula scanned the room with a scowl. “I must say I expected my entrance to be a bit more… dramatic.” She placed a hand on her hip and then her gold eyes locked onto mine. “Ama, you don’t look thrilled to see me.” She stated the obvious.
         I didn’t realize how much my hatred for the woman had grown since our last encounter. Just the sight of her made my blood boil. She was the one behind my friend's deaths. She was behind Mulan’s death. And then threatened the people close to me. I was prepared to deal with whatever she had to throw at me; and prepared tot throw it back harder.
         A malicious chuckled let her lips at my narrow glare. “Well, maybe you’re thrilled in a different way. In a more bloodthirsty way.” She was reading me like a book. But then again, she’s been manipulating me this entire time.
         “Azula, please.” A pleading voice called from the sides. It grabbed everyone’s attention. Ursa stood a few feet away from us, her hands up to show that she was nonviolent. “I’m sorry for how I treated you as a child. Please don’t hurt anyone.”
         The ex-princess rolled her eyes in irritation. “Well someone obviously thinks they’re the center of attention.” Azula motioned her hand like she was telling Ursa to shoo. “I have a goal in mind. And Ama, here,” She gave me an intentful smirk. “Is my ticket.”
         “Not happening, Azula.” Zuko snarled at his sister and stepped in front of me in a protective manner.
         “Must you make this harder, Zuzu?” Azula snapped her fingers and the two men, her henchmen perse, stepped forward to stand next to the villainous woman. The two were bending large chunks of rock beside then and their stances said that they had every intention to engage in a fight.
         “Here’s your flaw, Azula.” Sokka’s confident and threatening tone joined in as he and the rest of Team Avatar stepped up next to Zuko and I. “It’s four of you against,” He paused his boast to start counting how many people were going to stand against Azula. But eventually he just shook his head. “Anyways, it’s four of you against a lot of us.”
         “Where did you get the number four from?” Azula asked, but her eyes said that she already knew what we were talking about. Myself and the rest of the group stole unknowing glances. “Oh, you mean Suh?” Azula brought up.
         I didn’t know where the spyful woman was, but I really don’t think she would have appreciated Azula ratting her out. She might be angry just at the fact that we’ve already known about her.
         “And, it’s not just us. I have a team of my own.” Just when Azula revealed the information, people in dark clothing started to emerge from every corner of the room. And the guards were nowhere to be seen. “They have their reasons for being here and I have mine. Ama-”
         I couldn’t take it anymore. The pressure on my chest was getting too much. The only thing that I was getting at the moment was that Azula murdered the people close to me before, and she’d do it again. Mulan died in my arms because of her! I didn’t want to have another person die in my arms tonight. Azula needed to go!
         The moment she addressed my name to try and speak, I snapped. My arms beside my flew up, the fallen water from the ice sculptures following my lead to make a water jet. It was a forceful shot. Enough to throw Azula into the air and push her through the glass window.
         My friends beside me flinched at my lack of patience and the lack or restraint I had. “Ama!” Katara exclaimed with her hand over her mouth.
         “You guys protect the people in here. If Azula wants a fight, then that’s what she’s going to get.” My deep, brooding tone surprised even me. No one had a chance to object to my command, because I’d already created an ice slide to go over the heads of everyone in my way. I tuned out everyone’s calls for me to go back. My focus was Azula and keeping her away from everyone one.
         The air was chilling and had already been giving me light goosebumps. When I landed on the snowy ground, Azula was just getting up, wiping the snow off of her clothing. The half moon and the lights from inside the venue illuminated our surroundings, so there was no problem with seeing. My hands were out beside me, waiting for her to respond in some sort of way.
         The woman cocked her head to the side and had a satisfying smirk. “Well you responded better than I thought.”
         “What’s that supposed to mean!?” I shouted. My voice cracked slightly. That probably should have been one indicator that I wasn’t exactly emotionally stable to fight. But I was craving a fight.
         “Doesn’t matter.” She said it softly and etched with pain that she wanted to hide or ignore.
         Azula acted first. A whip of bluefire came at me. I reacted quickly with a summersault over it. And once I landed my hands commanded the snow before Azula’s spike up into sharp icicles of ice. Azula jumped just in time to avoid it and landed to the side.
         I manipulated the water to then strike Azula’s head, but she blocked it with a wall of fire, turning the water to steam. She manipulated the wall into a stream of fire towards me. I created a wall of ice in front of me and jumped to the side before the hot fire could melt the ice.
         I shot water bullets at her. Not strong enough to kill her, but definitely enough to hurt or even to leave a bruise. Only one of two hit her before she put up another defensive fire wall. But then once the firewall was out, another jet of water hurdled at her, throwing her back several feet.
         Azula rolled in the snow, her hands and knees on the ground, she looked up at me while I stomped towards her. “Oh please, Ama, that can’t possibly be all you have in you.” She egged me on. “I murdered the love of your life! How do you feel!?”
         I feel like shutting you up for good.
         My hand flickered, entrapping Azula’s hands and feet to the ground, and slowly, the ice crawled up her body. Azula’s eyes widened in surprise and in fear. She tried to move, but her body wouldn’t budge.
         Then my arms stuck out to my sides, ice spears forming beside me. My hands came to my chest, palms facing her and I forcefully pushed them forward. Azula stared at the ice, ready to be penetrated with a narrow, dismal expression. But the spears were redirected and forced into the ground. Not by me, but by someone else.
         Azula and I snapped out heads in the direction of the sound of crunching snow. I should’ve known it was Katara who had bent the ice. But she should've been inside, protecting the guests. I turned my head a little bit more, seeing that the venue now had a very large whole in it and some of my friends were now outside battling Azula’s misfits.
         “Ama, this isn’t how we do things!” Katara shook her head in concern. Her brows pinched together and her lips slightly parted in a frown. “Remember what you promised me!”
         “No, I’m protecting you all!” I shouted tensely, forcefully pointing at Azula. “Are you forgetting that she almost killed Aang, your husband? She is the reason that my friends are dead. She hasn’t and will not change, Katara.”
         “If you kill her, you will change.” Katara strongly retorted. “I felt the same way with mom! I know it hurts, but you will regret it, Ama. You can’t kill her!”
         There were pros and cons on both sides. Pros to killing her: Azula would no longer be a problem and I’d have my revenge for my friend’s deaths, for Mulan’s death. Cons: I’d break my promise to my sister and I could live the rest of my life in regret.
         Taking in a deep breath and letting it out, I lowered my hands calmly. “You’re right.” I sighed. My sister smiled graciously, before a water tentacle unexpectedly wrapped around her waist and pulled her back towards their fight. “Katara!” I reached my arm out for her and was about to go after her. But the sound of shattering ice grabbed my attention.
         Azula broke free from my ice, and stood up. Her hair was a mess and she darkly glared at me. “No more distractions!” She shouted. “Maybe you just need one more push!” Her arms made large arches as she generated lightning. “So many people to choose from. But which one of them would be strong enough to survive lightning?”
         She aimed the lighting at my group of friends, who were outnumbered and too busy to take notice. It didn’t matter to me who she was aiming at. There were all my family, I couldn’t let her do anything.
         “No!” My hands went out in front of me in desperation and before I knew it, Azula’s hands shot up, the lightning shooting up into the sky. The woman stood there bug-eyed and stiff like ice, except I didn’t shoot her with any ice. I didn't shoot anything at her.
         “What the hell are you doing to me!?” She let out a horrified shout.
         I sucked in a breath, realizing that I was bloodbending. I glanced at the moon, just to make sure it was a half-moon like I’d originally thought. And indeed it was.
         I’m bloodbending? During the half moon?
         I looked back at Azula’s scowling face and my jaw clenched. “You could have killed someone!” I shouted in fury, stepping forward and forcing her on her knees. “You are never going to change, are you?”
         Azula nervously laughed at me. “I know I’ve done some terrible things, but I needed one more life to destroy before I’m gone.”
         I scoffed, but then it all clicked in my mind. I shook my head in disgust; and in pity. “The only person you intended to have dead was yourself.” Azula kept silent, her way of agreeing with me. “And I was the way to do that.”
         “You could have killed me in that battle years ago.” Azula recalled with a chuckle. “But you didn’t and that makes you have morals? No, Ama. You’re going to kill me and you’re going to like it. You loved the feeling a year ago. Why not really love it and in the process rid me of this world?”
         My brows furrowed tightly and I grimaced. My fingers curled ever so slightly, just starting to press her body in on itself. Azula let out a small grunt of pain, but this was what she wanted. Right? Was this a part of her that was so evil she’d let herself die to hurt me? Or was this just a woman so regretful of the pain she’s caused in the past that she felt she needed to be gone. To rid herself of the burden she’s had to live with.
         Azula was raised to be used as a weapon by her own father to fight for the Fire Nation. But the Fire Nation was no longer at war. This woman was practically shunned by her only family and given no new purpose in life. She was lost and alone.
         “No!” I let go of mu hold on Azula completely and the girl grunted while she fell forward. Her hands kept her up as she knelt. “I refuse to believe that you want to die, Azula.” She kept her focus on the ground in front of her, refusing to show me any of her emotions. “You can have a life again, a purpose, maybe. You don’t need to live in your own regret.”
         “You don’t know me.” She said through her bared teeth.
         “I don’t think you do either.” It was silent. But the sound of the battle my friends were in was still in the background. I was waiting for Azula to respond in any way. I was prepared to either keep fighting, or to stand with her in having her thugs stand down.
         I wasn’t paying attention, though. I wasn’t expecting it. I didn’t know who did it or if it was serious. I knew one thing only. I felt a sudden, stinging pain in my upper abdomen. A loud, sharp gasp was sucked into my lips. It took me a moment to process and in shock I slowly lowered my head. The sharp tip of the bloody sword stuck out through my front.
         I hissed at the stinging pain as whoever just struck me through abruptly pulled the sword back through. My body collapsed, suddenly feeling too weak.
          “Ama!” A distant shout reached my ears.
         My body laid on it's side. The only person I could see was Azula. Her jaw was dropped and her eyes were open wide in complete shock. Whoever slayed me walked around my body and stood over Azula.
         “We need to go! Now!” Suh shouted in a seething tone. But the firebender stayed put, shutting her eyes tightly in a pained expression. “Azula!” Suh glanced over to the separate battle. And with a grumbling curse, she bolted away. Leaving my dying body and the overwhelmed Azula.
         I felt somebody skid beside me and pick up the top of my body. Sitting me upright. It was Zuko. Terror had overtaken his face as he looked at my pale face. “Shit, Ama.” An exasperated grumble slipped his lips. The man frantically grabbed the end of his royal cape, pressing it onto the backside of my wound and pressing his hand onto the front of it in a desperate attempt to stop the bleeding.
         “Z-zuko…” His name came out in a strutter.
         “I’m right here. Hold on.” He begged me, pathetically trying to be calm for my sake. He turned his head to the side. “Katara!” His blood curdling shout called for my sister.
         A light chuck left my lips. “Zuko, your girlfriend is insane. Kinda like an unstable… ostrich horse.” My brain wasn’t exactly thinking correctly. My thoughts felt like they were scattering and jumping from one corner of my brain to another. Even my jokes weren’t making sense.
         My body suddenly cringed in a rush of cold. “I’m c-c-cold.” I shivered, leaning further into him. At each passing moment, I would feel weaker and less aware of everything happening.
         Zuko’s pressed a firm kiss on top of my head. “I know, waterlily. I’ll keep you warm.” He assured me. But it wasn’t the South Pole’s frigid air that left me shivering.
         A couple tears streamed down my cheek and I had to force myself to gulp, clearing my throat. “I don’t want to die, Zuko.” I managed a whisper.
         “You’re not going to die, Ama. Katara is on her way.” He pressed hard on my wounds. But the blood was still seeping out, only reddening his cape more and blooding his hands. His voice was fading in and out, like he was getting further away or I was listening from under the water
         “I’m so sorry.” I wanted to speak a little bit louder but my body could only allow a raspy whisper. Slowly and stagerdly with the little energy I had, my hand dragged up and over his bloody one.
         Zuko furrowed his brow and shook his head. “Sorry? For what?”
         I’m sorry for leaving. I’m sorry for barely visiting. For not thinking things through like I should. “Everything.” My eyelids started to get heavier. But I fought against it for just another moment. One more chance to say “I love you.”
         “Ama!?” He shouted, but I barely heard it. And a second later I just saw his lips moving with no words coming out. It felt like a rush of cold air raked through my body. A bright, white light clouded my vision. It was just starting out as a tiny dot in the distance, and gradually got bigger until it was all I saw.
         The blinding light turned softer moments later. My brows furrowed in confusion as I took in my new surroundings. I spun in circles and I looked up, down, left, right. It was like an endless room of just, white. I wasn’t in my bloodied dress anymore. Instead I was clothed in a silk, cream colored dress that ended at my ankles. And I wasn’t wearing any shoes. I was grateful that I wasn’t still in my previous clothes, because the blood was getting sticky on my skin, but cream wasn’t exactly my color.
         If this was the afterlife how do I make a complaint about how boring it is...? Spirits, Ama. You’re dead and thinking about the color of your dress?
         “Ama.” An angelic, soft voice said from behind me. It was so familiar, like it was from a distant memory. Yet despite not being able to recall it, it made me feel safe and warm.
         Turning around stagarly, my hands immediately went up to cover my mouth with one palm. “Mom!” With an exasperated sigh, I ran towards her. Immediately being engulfed in a hug. Our arms wrapped around each other tightly after thirteen years.
         My family and friends always gave me wonderful hugs. But nothing could compare to the comforting warmth of a mother’s hug. It was the kind of hug that told me everything was alright, that she was here with me now and was always with me.
         Pulling away, my mom cupped my cheeks to look at me. “You’re so grown up.” She said emotionally while she studied my face. She hasn’t changed in how she looked at all. Her eyes still held that glimmer and her soft face didn’t have a single wrinkle. Well, I supposed that everyone looked young in the afterlife.
         Her thumbs rubbed my cheeks soothingly as she exhaled a pent up breath. “I am so proud of you.”
         I huffed a disagreeing laugh and looked down at my bare feet. “I almost killed a woman today.” I told her, despite her probably knowing that. “How can you be proud of me if I almost did something like that?”
         My mother smacked her lips and placed her hand under my chin to lift my head up. Her kind blue eyes held no judgment for me. Her parted lips smiled at me with pride. “Because, it’s what you did in the end that mattered. You gave that woman hope to be a better person. No mother can ask for a better daughter.”
         I wondered if I did help Azula. If she’d try to do better tomorrow or if she’d continue to let her own guilt consume her until she couldn’t just wait for someone to kill her. I wanted to think she’d somehow try to make amends with her family and redeem herself. Would the others even give her a chance to do that?
         “You don’t think it’s too late for her?” I wondered out loud. My mom was always a caretaker. She saw the good in anyone, but she never gave someone the benefit of the doubt. If anyone would know whether Azula could change, it was her.
         “Of course not.” She assured me.
         I sighed in relief. “Thank you, mom.” I didn’t forgive Azula for what she’d done. Intentionally or not. And I don’t think I would forgive her for a while. I mean, I had an eternity to do that now. But maybe, just maybe, she’d find her peace. And we’d be able to talk about things if we met in the afterlife.
         My eyes darted around the white space and my lips curved into an unimpressed grimace. “Is this what death is like?”
         My mom giggled at my expression, rubbing her thumb on my cheek. “No, snowflake. It’s much more lively than this.” It almost made me feel like a kid again when she called me by my old nickname. Kind of ironic considering I was dead. “Someone is going to be leading you to the afterlife.”
         My head tilted curiously. “You?” She shook her head ‘no’ and removed her hands from my face. Her eyes left mine to focus on something, or someone, behind me. With a timid yet poised turn, I looked to see who’d be my guide into the rest of eternity. Taking a sharp intake of breath, my eyes widened with contentment.
         “Hey, gorgeous.” Mulan. Sending her a emotional smile, I took soft steps towards her.
         It was comforting to see her clothed in clean, light clothing in contrast to the usual dirty and heavy clothing we’d use as the bastards. There wasn’t a hair out of place in her exquisite updo. But while she looked different and graceful, there was one thing that was missing. Her smile. The one that made me fall in love with her.
         My mother was delighted to finally see me. But Mulan was crestfallen. With her brow pinched upwards and her cheerless frown, the tall woman licked her lips to speak. “It wasn’t supposed to be your time yet.” Her honeyed voice said quietly.
         With a thin smile and a light shrug, I took my final step to stand in front of her. “Yeah, I always thought I’d die while doing something stupid with Taon.” I quipped with a gentle snicker.
         “Like surfing during a hurricane.” She cocked an accusatory brow at me. She reminded me of the one time there was a hurricane while we traveled to some islands.
         “I’m a waterbender, I would have survived.” I claimed, throwing my hands up beside me.
         Mulan scoffed and rolled her eyes amusingly at me. She bit her lip lightly while her green eyes scanned my face. “He’s still waiting for you to wake up.” She informed me and my smile fell a tinge. “They all are waiting for you to wake up.”
         “But I’m dead. They can’t keep waiting forever.” I gulped and shifted my weight to my left leg uncomfortably. My hand went up to wipe underneath my eye, expecting a teardrop of two. Expect there was no water leaking from my eyes. My face twisted in confusion.
         “You can’t cry in the afterlife.’ Mulan pointed out with an awkward tone.
         I groaned in frustration and shut my eyes tightly. “Ugh. I hate it here!” I exclaimed as I ran my hand through my hair. “I don’t want to be dead, Mulan. I want to be with my family.”
         “And with Zuko.” She added simply. I paused at the addition and avoided eye contact. Mulan chuckled at me, catching me off guard. “Ama, I know you still love him. There’s no hiding that.”
         “I’m sorry.” I mumbled.
         “Don’t apologize.” She smiled. “You should be there with him.”
         “Well, his psychopathic girlfriend stabbed me. Can’t exactly survive that.” I reminded her.
         “You can wait for them all here.” She extended her hand out for me to take. To lead me to the rest of death. I stared at her soft pale hand. They were no longer calloused from the years of wielding her weapons.
         I guess I didn’t exactly have a choice. I’d have to wait for them. But they wouldn’t wait for me. They had to move on with their lives. Zuko would fall in love with someone else. Katara and Aang would have kids together. I wouldn't be around for any one it. But we’d have a lot to talk about.
         Daintily and nervously, I started to reach for her hand. The light behind her continuously got brighter and brighter the closer my hand was to hers.
         I’d wait for them. However long it took them.
