Tfw a Tchaikovsky piece on the radio reminds you of Star Trek: Voyager, so you Shazam it and get its name then wander over to imdb and, lo-and-behold, its the piece playing when Janeway and Kashyk are in the mess hall during Counterpoint.
I'm so glad my brain works like this. 😂

Re-watching Aninana (S1EP1)
Hi, I have literally nothing to do on the train (which is like 4 hours a day), so I might as well watch one of my favourite series ever: IDOLiSH7. This is also kinda a compensation for the time when I said I would post about i7: Third Beat, but I never did after the 1st episode.
I'll simply write down things I remember from past me, notable things in the episode, and a few comments after this round of re-watch. I'll also try to keep it spoiler free!! For new watchers, the notes might give you some points to think about because I obviously didn't write them down without a reason.
Updates may be slow: I am a sad university student.
Tumblr media
Past me things:
When I watched this anime for the first time, I just wanted to say that this was my first ever male idol anime I watched. My expectations were low.
I tried so hard to remember everyone's names in the first episode… I even paused the episode for it to catch everyone's name, lol.
Yes, I am one of the people who clicked the episode away to see if I was watching the right anime when they were playing basketball.
Notable things in the EP:
The basketball game already gives away a lot actually. Not only how Mitsuki and Iori seem to be close siblings, but also how Riku seems very tired after the match. Don't forget that it's a three-on-three and Yamato is the referee as if he doesn't want to insert himself into the picture.
MAN. When Iori started to wonder if Tsumugi was the daughter of the president, it was Sogo to say that it didn't matter.
Mitsuki seems to be very shaken by the news that not all of them are going to debut, only three of them.
Once again, Iori comes at Tsumugi because she has broken their trust and it's Sogo again who says she can't help it.
Yamato is the first one to count himself out because he was only doing this for his revenge.
Sogo, who is always looking out for the people around him but himself…
To be honest, Tamaki is so brazen, but it fits him (and his age).
Riku talking to Iori and how great it is to be able to work together with them, and Tamaki also looking serious when these words are spoken.
Sogo giving the bottle to Tamaki, so he could make up with Mitsuki is so Sogo like. (Mending the relationships here.)
Personal comments (after re-watch):
I forgot how much I love WiSH VOYAGE!
While everyone does look very serious, it hits me so hard to see their feelings align for the first time. I know it's just the first episode and it's probably because I have seen this series many many many times already, but I can't help but get slightly emotional...
I also really love how Tsumugi pinpoints the strong points of everyone in this episode because you will only see their appeal grow and notice them becoming a better version of themselves throughout the series. It's a masterpiece.
Together with the scene of deciding their group name, I think the first episode was very impactful.

favorite moment and character you're most like + star trek voyager!!
Thank you!! And sorry about the delayed response, I've been a bit sick this week🙈
Favourite moment: okay this is going to sound a bit silly as a "favourite" moment out of 7 seasons and 172 episodes of television, but! one that stands out to me and always, always makes me tear up is that scene at the end of 'Extreme Risk' where B'Elanna eats those banana pancakes (made the way her grandmother used to make them) and tears up herself- after spending the whole ep basically just emotionally numb and unable to process her grief and sense of loss, idk it really gets me! B'Elanna is someone we see over and over again denying herself any sentimentality whatsoever regarding the Alpha Quadrant, but this simple moment of allowing herself that attachment, and that notion of family and nostalgia is so so powerful to me. I read a lot of her arc and her adrift-ness as allegorical cultural angst re her human (Latina) side, so the idea of her slowly repairing little fractures in her connection to her heritage without necessarily having to forgive her parents (y'all know I mean her dad.) is just extremely moving to me! (I really love this post expressing how it would've hit harder if her food of choice had been something more explicitly Latin American, like fried plantain- I couldn't agree more! But I love it as it stands too <3)
Character I'm most like: see B'Elanna is my b'lorbo but I only really relate to her when she's being pathetic, and a good deal of the time she's actually just very competent and hot. So.... idk, maybe Kes? One of the reasons I find her refreshing is she doesn't really seem to have Ambitions in the traditional sense or seek validation/approval through institutions (which usually makes every single character in a Starfleet uniform sort of unrelatable to me😂) - she mostly just hangs around and listens to people, which I think I do quite a lot of? So yeah probably her. I guess the main difference between us is that she's a bit of a weirdo, and I'm definitely not. Right, wild birds I let build a nest inside my living room?

for the trek ask game!! 🎼🪐🖖
Song/music you associate with an aspect of ST
oh i got a few of these
it's been a long road... (wait is that a song on its own or was it written for trek. if it was written for trek, never mind, cuz that'd be cheating jhfdsjh)
la donna e'mobile. this one comes up a lot in media and i have and will always associate it with the doc singing about pon farr
magic carpet ride is just the first warp drive song. also it just hit me how fucking fitting that title is
you are my sunshine cuz the doc & seven sang it
my darling clementine, for the same reason as above
note that trek was how i heard all of these songs for the first time
Favourite alien planet
i gotta go with vulcan because of how much i fucking think about it
honourable mention to the blink of an eye planet, wuv youuu
First Trek media you encountered?
star trek the next generation. my mum watched it most nights whilst pregnant with me and i was kicking along to the theme as soon as i developed legs. i was literally born into this
and she'd taped a buncha eps off the tv and i grew up watching 'em, so theres like a chunk of next gen eps i have an extra fondness for because of that (i, borg, the next phase and the cost of living come to mind. but there was defo more than that). then eventually mum got proper videos from the cheap show, and voyager joined in
and yeah. grew up with next gen and voyager. and the movies

Favourite ep of doctor who and favourite ep of star trek?
aaahh this is sooo tough! for dw i'd probably have to say the haunting of villa diodati, that's such an amazing ep, with a lot of fun stuff and the stakes that suddenly hit the roof, and we have great little scenes with all the companions, and the incredible scene in the basement with "this team structure isn't flat, it's mountainous, with me at the summit, alone, left to choose." A+++++++
as for star trek, i'm a bit more hesitant, because i'm still a newbie in the trek fandom and i still feel like i have to finish my rewatch and have another one probably, and in a couple of years i'll be able to tell you that with more confidence. BUT, that said, right now i'd be leaning to dark frontier probably. just the way seven behaves to protect voyager ("voyager is my collective now" has me bawling, tbh), and janeway not accepting losing her, the flashbacks and all, such a strong ep.
thanks for asking!

Post rock recs from me:
I see you've already discovered This Will Destroy You. They're great especially for ambiental stuff. My fav albums from them are S/T and Young Mountain. My fav tracks hmm that's harder to choose. "They move on tracks of never ending light" from S/T and "I believe in your victory" from Young Mountain.
Another fave of mine is If These Trees Could Talk. They are often labeled as post metal too, which means they're harder than the usual post rock. My fav album from them is Red Forest. It's possibly my fave album ever ever ever. It's a concept album about Chernobyl. My favourite tracks from that are "The first fire" and "Whwn the big hand buries the twelve". The first fire, especially, is the song of all time and in my opinion, is tge defining sound of this band. But I genuinely like their entire discography (4 albums). I really hope they'll put out a 5th one soon!!! Other faves from them: "Signal tree" from their self titled album, "rebuilding the temple of Artemis" from Above the Earth Below the Sky. The album Bones of a dying world really grew on me recently, too. Can't really pick a fave. Maybe Berlin. Or After the smoke clears.
Another fave is There's a Light. Genuinely like their entire discography (again, not much, just 3 albums). "We choose to go to the moon" from their Khartoum debut ep. "Farewell my friend" and "White marble" from A long lost silence. And "Fear keeps pace with hope" and "Even in the darkest place..." from their most recent album, what may I hope for, what must we hope for
I have listened to the entire discography (many albums) of Collapse under the empire. It's good but not my favourite, like only some songs stand out as favourites.
There's also We Lost the Sea. Only know one album so far but it goes the hardest. Departure songs. It's all amazing but if you have to choose, then the two Challenger songs
As seas exhale is another one. Listened to two albums by them. I like the Voyager one, very relaxing. Mare incontra il cielo is the song of all time ever
All post rock music I've discovered so far ever can be found here:

OOhhhh perfect tysm!!! My usual rotation is Silent Island, Black Hill, Release the Longships, and This Will Destroy You; I'm so happy to add more to my lists heheh

D, G and R please!
D: Favourite Current Sim
Zoe and Jasmine! After they became lesbian couple, their daily interactions are full of love, they’re so sweet to play with 💗
G: Favourite Expansion Pack
This is a tough one. I’ll choose Bon Voyage bc it’s the only EP can relax myself and my sims whenever I get bored of sims going to work, doing chores etc day after day, we need a break! I’ll send them on vacation, especially Twikkii Island, I feel refreshed watching sims watch waves haha
R: Cartoony or Realistic Sims?
I really like in-game style, idk what style it called so I go for all maxis match style for my sims from hairstyle to outfit. I’m fear of too realistic and detailed skin, eyes like playing real people in front of my computer screen lol

i wasnt tagged but im bored so here we go:
1. What’s your favourite sims death? Hmm gotta go with classic drowning tbh.
2. Alpha CC or Maxis Match? Maxis match.
3. Do you cheat when your sims gain weight? Nope, I play wants-based.
4. Do you use move objects? Ye
5. Favorite mod? TOO MANY, we'd be here all damn day, phew so honorable mentions are: fway's auto trait randomizer, object freedom, ROS generator and babydilljrs DFR turn on/offs.
6. First expansion/game/stuff pack you got? I got them all in order on release day, so I guess University since it was the first EP. Holiday Stuff was the first SP so...you can take it from here I 'spose.
7. Do you pronounce “live mode” like aLIVE or LIVing? LIVE like living your life, tf?
8. Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made? TOO MANY omg. right now, basically all me sims in Waverly that ARE NOT premades (minus, Natasha Una)
9. Have you made a simself? Sure I have - dont have one right now tho.
10. What sim traits do you give yourself? Computer whiz, loner, artistic, rebellious
11. Which is your favorite EA hair color? ?! wtf kinda question is this lmaoooo
12. Favorite EA hair? TBH hairfuzzylongcp

19. Do you have a YouTube for sims? huehuehueheuhue
20. How has your “sim style” changed throughout your years of playing? Erm, welp for starters I did not watch my downloads folder and clean it out. I would play with alpha and MM and not mind how glaring itd look in screencaps and I'd be ALL UP in their shit. Now I watch my downloads, organize and clean that ish out. I am 99% MM and I went from being all up in their shit to being a distant god to now being wants-based.
21. What’s your Origin ID? Idk lmao, dont use origin (or the new thing that replaced it.)
22. Who’s your favorite CC creator? SO MANY AND ILY ALL, ya talented asf lil beans.
23. How long have you had a simblr? My very first Simblr post was ERRR well I made Narcissims WAY back in 2011 or some shit like that. Deleted bc i thought I was over simming, came back for Sims 4 in 2014 as Grilled Cheese Aspiration and have stayed but am forever faithful to Sims 2.
24. How do you edit your pictures? Photopea lol
25. What expansion/game/stuff pack do you want next? I'm set tbh.
26. What expansion/game/stuff pack is your favorite so far? Pfft probably Bon Voyage, I just dont take my sims on vaca often. They barely roll the wants.
If you wanna do this, DO IT! you can say i tagged ya, these things are fun!

Hello! Just dropping by to ask if you have any music recs <3 I need some new stuff to listen to and I’ve always liked your taste in music!
OMG THANK YOU this is going to go straight to my head lol but that makes me so happy to hear! 🥰
Hmm ok so it depends what you’re in the mood for. I listen to a LOT of different genres and artists, it’s all very miscellaneous so I’ll just throw a bunch of random recs out there and if you like any of them then lmk:
I’ve been listening to a LOT of Omar Apollo lately. He’s so great, his voice is so smooth and incredible, and I feel like I’ve had his songs on repeat. I like 3 Boys, Go Away, Waiting on You, The Two Of Us. He’s definitely more in the pop genre but he mixes it with a lot of different stuff like alt rock, r&b, latin music. love my boy Omar !!
If you’re more into like indie folk-ish type stuff I love Half Moon Run. I’m going to see them in concert tomorrow actually so I’m very excited. Favourite Boy, Black Diamond, All At Once, Hands In The Garden all bops, but Grow Into Love is also very romantic 🥹
boygenius also came out with their EP recently so Black Hole or Afraid of Heights are the 2 popular ones, but Voyager is so beautiful especially when you get the reference she makes to a pale blue dot (earth), so it makes me tear up. plus it’s a band of queer women who are so rock n roll and kiss each other on stage like what’s not to love lmao
NFWMB by Hozier. it’s delicious. a delicious, delectable song. I love him. no further elaboration needed.
SUFJAN STEVENS. everyone should get into sufjan stevens!! his latest album Javelin was phenomenal, again sonically it’s more like slower indie music but it’s so genuinely well thought out. Shit Talk and Will Anybody Ever Love Me? are my favs off of that album for sure
not a lot, just forever by adrianne lenker (who’s hosting an online songwriting course in january!)
holly by anna shoemaker, if you’re into very fun and cute indie pop
erase me by lizzy mcalpine ft jacob collier, her entire five seconds flat album is so good
arrival by apollo mighty
literally anything by H.E.R.
I could keep going for ages but yeah 😅 hope that helps!!

Arkadex - Arkadexicon
Arkadexicon is the second ep by Arkadex, and if you're in the mood for some slightly darker electronica, this is the one for you!! the atmosphere this play creates is borderline ethereal - like you're exploring the darkest depths of space. it's a beautiful listen, i'd highly recommend it!
my favourite tracks: Slowkode, Sunset Satellite Voyage

I want the void to see my takes on Star Trek: Coda
I have opted to read Star Trek: Coda, the tilogy that sort of closes out the pre-disco/pre-picard eu novelverse that carried on from the shows and the movies from like the 90s to I think late 10s?
Three dudes put it together and wrote each book. Book 1 (Moments Asunder) is by Dayton Ward someone I admit I am unfamiliar with. Im mostly doing this cause this lil EU has a soft spot in my heart for having read the Destiny Trilogy (Borg War mentioned below) one of the Titan books (Sword of Damocles, fun time nightmare) and the first DTI book ‘Watching the Clock’ (The DTI is basically the Federation’s Time OSHA) Destiny was very cool for teen me (dont know if it holds up but the Aventine is a certified banger of a starship).
DTI follows fan favorites Dulmer and Lucsly from that one ep of DS9 as they deal with time bullshit, the Temporal Cold War from Enterprise, local DTI counterparts and their superiors/successors from Uptime: The TIC of the 19th Century (Temporal Integrity Commission from Voyager, actually Time Cops kind of dicks) and the FTA from the 31st century (the reformed version of the TIC who are much less angy about everything and more yoda to their mace windu.)
I bring this up because its a good book (need to read the others) has some fun stuff about how time works and linking different Time Episodes from TNG - ENT and has my favourite detail about the DTI: the entire department hates Kirk for his time crimes (his frequent jaunts through history is stated to be a big factor in the forming of the department) and Janeway for her own time crimes which led to a fun story where Lucsly quit in disgust when DTI and FTA agents stopped them from sending her to time war criminal jail (Uptime agents are by default in charge because) for vague time reasons (listed below)
Fun opener: lists pertinent details of the setting in dot point form like Sisko was in the wormhole for like one year lmao, ds9 got blown up by the breen and so they built another one but federation design and its ds9 2. Ro Laren is in charge because Kira decided to be a Vedek. Some of this is stated, some of this I learned in the few other books Ive read, and some of this is a wiki dive on Memory Beta (its like their official licensed but not canon works wiki, lots of cool ships pictures.) Apparently those weird critters that got into starfleet in early TNG were a trill offshoot from 1000 years back that basically left Trill to make their perfect joined society in space with no normies and then did some genetic fuckery and accidently made them into Goa’ould that are insane and want to do genoicde. They thought they got them all and just erased that part of their history but Dax finds out about it from the big trill that lives inside those caves which is super old and because of political issues its agreed all symbionts will return to the caves following their current hosts death until a sufficient number is reached so that anyone who wants to join can be joined.
Janeway died stopping a Borg attack where they ate Pluto and was then resurrected a year later by Q to help the full circle fleet (federation exploration fleet equipped with slipstream drives that were perfected from Voyagers info, sent to look at how the Delta Quadrant is doing) with a negative space wedgie that she'd solved in the history where she didn't commit crimes against the timeline. It has something to do with the Q and the Omega molucule being like opposite forces and the Q Continuum are creative balances or something to the Omega Continuum’s raw chaos? and a crew member of full circle is like a child of Omega somehow, Idk, these summaries arent great. They figure out how to stop it from blowing up the universe and Lady Q is pissed cause it kills q, but Q understands why it happened and says she’ll forgive Janeway in time. Ensign Omega also dies but she was books only I think. They only lose a few billion years from the lifespan of the universe which seems pretty good all things considered.
Data also was resurrected 5 years after he died in Nemesis (they figured out how to pull his brain out of B4) and so was Lal (they figured out how to pull her brain out of Data and make a body that didnt brain destroy itself). Bashir also dated nice augment lady from those two eps of DS9 which I dont really like as a concept because of the whole power dynamics they acknowledge in that episode. Also hes recovering on Cardassia with Garak after the 31 stuff listed below. Tom Parris and Belana Torres are still together but had to flee with the full circle fleet cause their kid is apparently some Klingon messiah or some shit.
its been two years since the Borg war, where they assaulted the entire alpha and beta quadrant in a 'more trouble than they're worth' attack. It was solved by time bullshit, learning the origin of the Borg (which I admit I liked when I read), and a higher species led by the now functionally immortal Captain Hernandez (archers ex from that one ep of Ent with the Columbia who managed to survive the og event that inspired the Kobayashi Maru Test and limp to a planet with advanced alien leading to a bootstrap paradox deal.) It led to a bunch of bullshit including andoria briefly seceding, the romulans, the gorn, the breen, the tholians and others making the typhon pact which is sort of the federations counterpart in peaceful exploration and expansion but of the bad guy races (of them only the romulans and some gorn are actually trying to do the whole peace in our time thing the rest use it as a military alliance).
The Federation and Klingon Empire responded by expanding the Khitomer Accords to include the ferengi (now less libertarian and shit, thank you based Rom who immediately accepted entrance into the accords), cardassia (now less fascist and shit, maybe thanks Garak on that one? idk, need to read A Stich in Time still), the free romulan state (the supernova happened and basically split the empire ideologically into the hardliners and the nicer ones, the nice ones were going to join but got forcibly absorbed into the Typhon Pact) and the Talarians (cant place em, think they were in like one ep of TNG?).
Bashir succeeded in taking out Section 31 and their crimes were exposed but it accidentally implicated Picard because he helped remove a corrupt federation president who 31 then had quietly moided. Riker is an Admiral (suck it Picard) with the Titan as his psuedo flagship as he leads exploration efforts in the Beta Quadrant (and Tuvok is there, yay Tuvok!). The Titan is also a certified banger of a starship.Riker was its former Captain but got promoted for the whole ‘helping directly neutralize the Borg forever’ thing. He and Deanna have a kid which the lizard man chief doctor helped deliver (I like him, hes fun and I think makes jokes about being a carnivore). His ex and former XO, Christina Vale, is the permanent captain and im sure she and Deanna have a lot of fun talking shit about the admiral behind his back. Part of why Titan is a banger is that it has the most diverse crew in the Federation, so lots of weird aliens! we start at human plus with Melora Pazla from that one DS9 ep and going way way harder.
I love when they just have weird races, one of the crew members is from a race of like predator shapeshifters who look like gold and have a humanoid form because their bionest mother or whatever decided it would aid in working with humanoid species. There also Ensign Torvig who is from a race cybernetically uplifted by another race and was very emotionally fraught during the borg thing because of depressing existential questions about cybernetic life. Seemed like a good egg from what I remember (not literally, they're like deer-ish if I remember right?).
Bajor is in the federation too now, but further research indicates Quarks is now a bar and embassy so he can keep making money in utopia. Must be nice having your based Union Chad Brother leading your people. also in this eu canon, Sisko got back from the celestial temple a whole year before Janeway got home? which is very funny to me. Also Rom and Leeta had 3 kids and stopped Brunt from couping him with false marriage contracts or someshit (suitable Ferengi). Good for him, glad he and Leeta made it work (and also created a workers paradise Im assuming). The Enterprise E is currently in the Odyssean reach or something, charting space and making friends on the border with the romulan chunk of the Pact States. Yay! Boldly going!
I think that's everything relevant to the starting line? Jesus this is set barely 10 years after Nemesis. Shit hit the fucking fan for a few years there. And now it appears to be again with some kind of weird time nonsense, will our beloved characters be able to stop history going bad? again? again? Will we see some cool ships? Will Captains not named Picard or Riker get to be cool as hell? Will Lt. Cmdr. Nog be promoted from acting Assistant Chief Engineer to Chief Engineer of DS9 2? Wiil Chief O’Brien be brought back from Starfleet Academy just to suffer? Those answers lie in the next post and beyond!

okay so as someone who has never ventured out of my star trek safe bubble of TOS, i would like to ask your opinion on non-TOS shows?? like...what is your favorite[s], which would you recommend, etc etc <3
ooooooooooo okay i alas don't think i'm 100% the best person to ask bc i haven't watched every series like some people n what i've seen of like enterprise and voyager is not a lot!
uhm i would say TNG is like. generally a good place to go afterwards. 's got good episodes, bad episodes, it's similarly episodic for the most part with a few longer arcs, n i like almost all of the main characters :0 n it still has the general Vibe TOS does while introducing new elements n whatnot!
DS9 is much more serialised which isn't everyone's vibe but i really like the characters there they're super fun but it's set after TNG n certainly in the pilot n stuff calls back n builds upon a few different elemets introduced in DS9 so that's good to watch beforehand, but i wouldn't say it's necessary at all, like it's still an independent show but some stuff is just contextualised a bit more with TNG information.
some people like enterprise, uh... it's certainly a thing that exists. watch the pilot n you'll know what i mean. the intro kills me every time i hear it.
i haven't enjoyed what i've seen of voyager which similar to DS9 is much more serialised than TOS n TNG were but a lot of people do like it! i think it's just not my vibe but again worth watching the first few eps and see how it sticks :) they're just kind of weird to the native character chakotay n i'm not 100% sure if that improves but i guess all star trek series Get A Bit Weird like that :( Tuvok is cool though n after seven of nine joins the cast it massively improves i am told.
also the animated TOS series is underrated please consider watching it it's so funny. idk it's the most canon show in my heart.
i haven't watched any of the more recent ones beyond these unfortunately :( but yeah TNG n DS9 are my favourites n certainly what i would personally recommend. i haven't watched lower decks but i've heard very good things abt it so also consider that! hope this helps but i'm by no stretch someone who has watched every star trek show so idk if you want to ask more people who have seen more of these shows bc i'm very much so a TOS boy dchdfvhb

Mini-tutorial: How to change light settings / light colour for custom TS2 lamp using SimPe.
It’s very easy. You replace the name inside Light Names and cLightRefNode with another TS2 light name. You’ll find the light names inside custom lamps you have in your game (those that work properly, ofc) OR you can clone a TS2 lamp and inspect the light name. Use the light name found in CRES / cLightRefNode, NOT in STR Light Names.
Tumblr media
In most cases replacing the name inside CRES / cLightRefNode is enough to make it work - that’s the most important bit. Buuut.. it’s good practice to fill out the STR# Light Names as well.
More info, Light names and sample pics below the cut!
You can change the colour of light but please note that the light point location (height) or direction / angle is not dictated by light name settings and it will stay the same.
What does that mean? Those two street lamps in the pic below use exactly the same light colour and intensity, but the light source for Tri-Luminlight Streetlamp is located much lower. So it makes a huge difference.
Tumblr media
If you’d like to create a floor lamp that’s pretty small, like a lantern, and you’d like to have realistic light effects, you clone table lamp, replace or edit BHAV (so it could be placed on the floor without cheats) and recategorize it as floor lamp. OR, If you’re making a floor lamp that’s very tall, you could clone ceiling lamp and move it to floor lamps category.
Most light names - event though there are many of them - refer to identical or very similar light settings. And that’s because there are only a few light colour presets apropriate for indoor lighting in the game. EPs / Stuff packs have a separate file that assigns one of those colour presets - plus intensity - to each lamp that came with that EP / SP.
Most TS2 lamps get either softAmber or softWhite light colour, and intensity levels set between 4 - 6. So, not too many combinations to choose from.
You can use floor lamp light settings for table lamps etc.
The light names I use most often are:
lightingceilingmoroccan_light (Qadim Bauble Ceiling Lamp), soft amber, my favourite light for table / floor lamps and pendant lights. Please note that certain lighting mods turn it into cold white light for some reason.
lightingWallClubSconce_light - amber, less intense than light above.
lightingtabletealightikeaps_light - fire colour, very warm, used by IKEA candles: requires IKEA EP, or custom lamps that use those settings will not work properly. (Antler ceiling lamp from Bon Voyage lightingceilingantlermountain_light uses the same fire light colour, but a notch brighter - and requires BV).
Ribbons Aplenty ceiling lamp settings lightingceilingluxurybow_light from Glamour SP is probably the brightest warm light you’ll find in the game.
Coloured lights of NightLife neons, and any other that were added as override settings (for TS2 lamps with changeable light colour) don’t seem to work at all for custom lamps.
If you’d like to make a lamp that doesn’t glow at all, you can use NL neon light settings, for example
lightwallnightclubdisk_disk_violet_lit_designmodelight
It’s possible to create custom light colour for the game (there’s a tutorial on MTS) but that’s pretty advanced stuff.
Tumblr media
Screenshots taken indoors at night time, with a single lit-up light in the room.
If you use lighting mods, these lights might look very different in your game.
I don’t use any lighting mods made by others, but I did fiddle with game light files to change light intensity and switch white colour to warm for some lamps.

So... Yeah. I finished Enterprise I guess
The finale. Oh god the finale. I pretty much new what to expect and it still made me angry (my favourite part was when Troi casually spoils Trip's death in the beginning of the episode). It's just... The tng stuff is so out of place. It's not even really an episode of Enterprise ! But you can't really watch it as a tng episode either. It's just a weird mix that just doesn't fit at all. And BRUH Trip's death, that was probably the most anticlimactic star trek death ever. Even Jadzia and Tasha were better cause at least the aftermath was pretty well done. Here they dealt with it like it was the dead of unnamed crewman #13 or something. Honneslty watching this ep felt like watching a movie with people who already saw it, and keep skiping parts, pausing it to talk, spoiling you, and also they stop the movie before the end.
But disregarding this episode, the show really wasn't as bad as I expected. The first two seasons were pretty rough, even by first-two-seasons-of-a-star-trek-show standards, but there were still good episodes in them. The third one was... there were great episodes in it, but I've already talked about how I didn't really like the overarching plot. But season 4 ?? Legit fire. This season was better than the entirety of Voyager. It was finally the show living up to its premise (a premise I always found amazing and full of potential). Like the Babel One arc was exactly what I wanted from this show. It made me real mad the show was cancelled, I mean we could have seen the fucking Romulan war for gods sake. Also I read somewhere they were planning to make Shran a main character in season 5, oh we were ROBBED
Wish modern trek would continue using the 2-or-3 episodes arcs format, it suits star trek way more than season-long arcs

Fave eps of the 63 astroboy anime?
Okay, so I'm only at episode 55 out of i think 109 in the english dub, but I can tell you my faves so far!
this got real long real fast, so I'm putting it under a readmore :3c
-episode 11, 'Strange Voyage' I've talked a lil' bit about this one before, but I'll elaborate. I think this episode is tastefully dark, but has some really great sweeter moments as well. Like when Louie(?) agrees to watch Marble, and then... proceeds to do so. He's never mean to her, and while he's not kind, he's willing to talk with her. Also Astro decides that keeping the little girl away from the notorious criminal is unnecessary, and decides that she and the criminal should play chess instead. As for darker moments, the ending and this particular line come to mind
Tumblr media
and then Marble, who is like 5, claims that there must be a heaven for robots, because Astro deserves to go to heaven. Also they try to kill a man by shoving him out the airlock. But yeah, if you're looking to decide whether or not this show is worth it, check out this episode
-episode 7, 'Zero, the Invisible Robot' So this is the Denkou episode, and for some reason they made him a gorgeous man that I'm in love with. But he's named Zero here. I don't know what else to say that hasn't been said, other than I maybe teared up a lil'. Don't judge me. I'm a sucker for 'I just want to be good/do a good job' type characters (which is why I'm also a fan of bobo and abra cadabra) and I think it's really funny that they were like 'we have to make him BEAUTIFUL' and he's only visible for like 5 seconds total.
-episode 53, 'Dogma Palace' This episode is absolutely dumb as dogshit and I'm completely obsessed with it. It seems like it's gonna be cool and dark and in the last like 7 minutes you find out that everything's all fucked cuz the king was like 'o ye i used 2 keep bees! My favourite bee was this fucked-up evil one from outer space that liked to mind control people!' and he did not see how this could have ever gone wrong. May I recite to you the greatest lines of dialogue in tv history?
*while panning over freed child slaves* "You can be a king who believes in life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness!" "Yes. I'll start a new country, a country without slaves, or monsters, or super-bees!"
also the king is named 'El Doopy' and his elite task force are the Super Troupers
-episodes 44 and 45, 'The Heart of Cleopatra' It's another 'I want to be Good but I am forced to be Bad episode, with the added bonus of being Cleopatra-themed. Also it was bizarre but heartwarming to see Muslims and Islam being treated (somewhat) respectfully in a cartoon from 1963. Like they were literally just praying. It might not have been *tactful* bc this show has never heard of tact in its life, but I don't think it was *offensive* and it certainly wasn't mean-spirited
-Episode 10, 'The Spirit Machine'
Tumblr media
-Episode 52, 'The Snow Lion' I had been looking forward to this episode after hearing that the 80's version was batshit, and I was NOT disappointed. The main villain is this little space wizard man with a flying lion made of snow, except the snow is alive and eats energy, and also apparently the wizard called in the girl scouts to help him invade earth. Sadly, the girl scouts were never seen.
like right in the middle there's this fucking somber as hell scene where Elefun hold's Astro's lifeless body, and he says 'I'll put you in the robot hall of fame if it's the last thing I do.' and so we get a 30 second long sequence of Elefun somberly walking down the halls of the robot hall of fame with Astro in his arms, until he reaches a pedestal. He then sets Astro up, and goes 'at least we can face the end together' and kneels down and rests himself on the pedestal, and fucking. just sits and waits to die.
And then some stuff happens and we get back to astro fighting a flying space lion made of snow.
~
Thank you for the ask! This was really fun~ I know I tend to ramble a lot lol, but I hope this gave you some insight into what sort of stuff I like!
