cin i need all your thoughts on the new kendrick album
Friend, do me a favor, send this same ask in like 2 days. I have to formulate an expert opinion and that takes days of listening
*adjusts glasses*
First and foremost, this is classic California sound right here! Wacced out murals is hard as fuck and that beat is SICKENING. It feels like into the mind of a madman but then morphs into a straight head banger then he addresses lil wayne, and REITERATES how he is the fucking GOAT of all this shit "fuck a double entendre I want y'all to feel this shit" in other words, it ain't that deep, just vibe with him.
Next squabble up got us all c-walkin in our bedrooms and ready to fight a bitch. Every good album needs a track like this. Luther comes in with the BOMB ASS SAMPLE (yes, this shit was perfectly done) of a BOMB ASS CLASSIC ASS SONG and you just vibe out because the beat hits you in the chest and luther's voice just rocks you, plus he brings SZA back from wherever the fuck she was? WITH THE HARMONY!! This is such a beautiful song and my favorite so far.
Man at the garden? BITCH I DESERVE IT ALL and its the force in which he says it that makes it a mantra. Repeat that shit in the mirror to yourself in the morning. Everyday. Bro really said his intentions were pure so all the fame this year, all the grammy nods, the superbowl, the anthem (not like us), ALL OF IT he deserves! I fucking love that shit. He already told us to be humble, but you don't have to be humble about SHIT YOU DESERVE OKAY??? A better life for his momma, a close relationship with God... he breaks down why he doesn't have to be humble about his wins! This feels so good to listen to because he's fucking RIGHT.
Another c-walker in Tv Off, shit bangs, period. WE SURVIVE OUTSIDE ALL FROM THE MUSIC! He starts playing with his voice again and I love that. Can't stand a monotone ass rapper.
Peakaboo and gnx have a beat that I can't WAIT to play in my truck. Imma just go to the store for no fucking reason tomorrow so I can hear how it really sounds.
So yeah, those are my initial thoughts after listening most of the afternoon and evening but imma let it marinate a few more days. Definitely feels like a continuation of what we heard this Spring - serious scary beats with sick lyrics with a few dance tracks sprinkled in. One thing is for sure, the album just feels like Compton.

Sweet Suffering
Hi guys! I'm back! I hope you all enjoy another adventure in Mouse's Mini-verse with your favorite pink haired, two year old menace!
For more adventures with Mouse and Dad!Sukuna, check out my Daddy Duty Series on my AO3 - Here! )
Author's Note: For anyone new to my Dad!Sukuna Series, Mouse is Sukuna's, currently, 2 year old daughter with reader.
Summary: Kenjaku makes a surprise visit and Mouse strikes again. Kids say the dandest things, don't they? (My alternate title for this fic was 'Mouse vs Kenjaku')
If you would prefer to read this story on AO3, click here !
WC: 1900
CW: reader is referred to as 'Mama' and 'Mother' but not described, toddler dad Sukuna, girl dad!sukuna, true form Sukuna (4 arms), it's pretty much Dilf Sukuna fluff and crack, family fluff, Uraume and Kenjaku (Heian era) are bothi n this one, there is 1 swear word, no one likes Kenjaku
Sukuna sat on the engawa having tea while Mouse roamed around the yard singing a song she made up as she went, picking flowers, piling up leaves and doing a jump occasionally that reminded him of a frog. He had no clue what the little jump was for, why she was doing it or where the hell she had learned it from, but it was keeping her happy and occupied so he said nothing. If he had learned anything thus far in the 2 years he had been a parent, it was to NOT try to make sense of toddlers.
Sukuna raised his head and narrowed his gaze as he felt a powerful curse energy approaching. This visit was unplanned. And you were not going to be a happy camper when you got home if the curse approaching was still here. Mouse apparently sensed the energy too as she froze and looked towards its direction before bolting to him.Â
âPapa! Papa! Papa!â She squealed, racing across the yard as fast as her stubby little legs could carry her. He lifted her up when she reached him so she could stand on his thigh. She immediately leaned into him and tangled her hands in his clothes.Â
âYou're fine, Mouse,â he told her, putting a hand on her back to steady her and soothe her.Â
Sukuna was glad you were not there as Kenjaku came into the yard whistling. You couldn't stand him. The nicest thing you had ever said about him was that he was a leech that had latched onto Sukunaâs power and wouldn't let go. He knew you were right, but Kenjaku had talents and knowledge that Sukuna required for his plans.Â
âWho is that, Papa?â She asked as Kenjaku strode towards them in a new body. Old one must have served its purpose and been discarded already.Â
âWhy, Mouse! Don't you recognize me? It's Kenjaku,â the curse said in greeting.
âThat him?â She asked in a loud whisper that sounded wholly suspicious. âHim face is different.â
âYes, it is. That's his curse power,â Sukuna answered. She was a bit too young to know the full details just yet. Maybe in a year or two.
She looked at him and then Kenjaku. She leaned in and asked him yet another question in a loud whisper. âIs Kenjaku a friend, Papa? Mama said-â
âMouse, go find Uraume so I can speak with Kenjaku. Thatâs not a request, by the way. I am not asking,â he said, not wanting to know which one of your opinions on Kenjaku she was about to come out of her mouth. You had many of them and none of them were favorable. Not that he cared about the curseâs feelings, but right now he had a need for him. He set her down on the engawa and gave her a little push. âGo. Inside.âÂ
She gave a hmmmph and walked inside with her little nose turned up and her arms crossed. He heard her pause at the doorway with his sharp hearing. âI know you are still there, Mouse. Go.â
Kenjaku gave it several moments and waited for Sukuna to nod before he spoke. âSo how are things here in the world of domestic bliss?â
âWhat did you come here to speak to me about?â Sukuna replied. He was in no mood for Kenjakuâs bullshit. He was dealing with enough sass from the 2 year old he had just sent inside.Â
âWhat? I canât stop by to see an old friend?â Kenjaku asked as he poured himself a cup of tea.Â
âItâs not your style. And weâre not friends. Lets not start lying to each other after all this time,â Sukuna said.
âFine. Have it your way. I have figured out how to do what we spoke about,â Kenjaku said. âIt is the reason for my taking control of this vessel.â
âReally?â Sukuna was weary. âAnd have you tried the process yet?â
âNot on a person,â Kenjaku said, he gave Sukuna a side eye. âBut are you human? Or are you a curse?â
âA calamity. Come back when youâve perfected it, and then we will talk seriously,â Sukuna said dryly. He could hear two sets of footsteps heading their way. âDonât show up here uninvited again.âÂ
âI do long for the days we could speak freely and for longer. I never needed an invitation before,â Kenjaku almost sounded like he was sulking.Â
âYouâve always needed an invitation,â Uraume in greeting as they came out to the engawa, kneeling in respect to Sukuna with a broom in their hand. âMaster Sukuna. Mouse said that Kenjaku is here. I came to see if you require anything.âÂ
âUra-rau! Use the broom! Use the broom!â Mouse jumped up and down, pumping her fists in the air, directly next to where they kneeled.
âBe quiet, Mouse,â Uraume snapped, still looking down.Â
âBut Urau-rauâŠâ
âNot yet,â Sukuna answered. He would have to make sure to ask what that was about.
âWe were trying to have a discussion,â Kenjaku gave the two new additions a side eye.
âI was picking flowers,â Mouse said, hands up in the air giving the curse a shrug.
âItâs a little different, Mouse,â Kenjaku answered. âThis was important.â
Sukuna closed his eyes and shook his head. Was this guy seriously trying to reason with a two year old? Especially that two year old.Â
âMine imbordant too! My flowers were for Mama,â Mouse said emphatically with her hands on her hips, narrowing her eyes on Kenjaku. Without taking her eyes off of the curse in front of her she asked, âMmmmm, Papa? I can pick more flowers now, please and thank you?â
Sukuna smirked. There it was. Mouseâs famous audacity. He had been waiting for it. âFine, go.â
âYay!â she ran over to him and grabbed onto his arm, hugging it and kissing his bicep, looking up at him with a smile. âThank you, Papa!â
He held her arm and helped her off of the engawa before she skipped off but not before giving Kenjaku a quick victory smirk. The cursed looked at him and said, âShe is her motherâs daughter, I see.â
Sukuna snorted in amusement. He couldnât deny that nor would he want to. He had married someone incredible, one of a kind. Why wouldnât he want her to be like you?
âAnd what of it?â Uraume asked, giving Kenjaku a disgusted side glare.
âOh, not a thing!â Kenjauk said with a smile and wave of his palm. He looked at Sukuna. âYou have changed. Donât lose sight of our plan.â
âDid you need anything more?â Sukuna asked, not in the mood to discuss this further when Kenjaku hadnât even perfected this technique. The curse needed to prove he could actually do it before Sukuna would discuss it further. âIf not, our business is concluded.â
âAs you wish,â Kenjaku said, standing to leave. âI will return after I have confirmed results.â
You came through the gate at that moment, carrying goods from the market. Your smile faltered when you saw the curse standing next to him. Mouse ran to you and hugged your leg, looking up at you with a smile and holding up a handful of weeds. âFlowers for Mama!âÂ
âThey are beautiful. Thank you, Mouse,â you said with a smile, rubbing the back of her head with your free hand.
âItâs okay, Mama. He leaving,â Mouse said, patting the back of your leg reassuringly.Â
âGood,â you answered.Â
âWe will meet again soon,â Kenjaku said to Sukuna before heading out of the yard. He paused in front of you, âA pleasure to see you again.â
âThe pleasure is all yours,â you answered with a fake smile.
Kenjaku looked down at Mouse and gave her a smile and a wave. âBye bye, Mouse! Iâll be back soon!â
âThe pleasure is all yours,â Mouse glared at him.Â
âEnough, Mouse,â Sukuna said as Uraume choked while trying to suppress laughter behind him.â While he did feel a need to correct her attitude, he would rather his daughter hate Kenjaku than have anything to do with him.
The curse turned up his nose and exited the yard, closing the entrance behind him. Sukuna watched you and your daughter, both smiling and talking between the two of you, discussing what goods you had bought at the market. He was in no rush for his plans to come to fruition. He wanted to enjoy the little moments like these for as long as he possibly could.
âIf you have no need of me, Master Sukuna, I would like to go start preparing for dinner. I have decided to make a dessert. Does mochi sound good?â Uraume asked.
He had a feeling they would be making some type of treats this evening as an unspoken thank you to Mouse for their treatment of the curse. âSounds good to me. You may go.â
Mouse came running to him with you trailing behind. She had one left over flower in her hand as she ran to him. âPapa! Head down, please and thank you!â
He leaned down to her level, curious what she intended to do. He screwed up his face as she not so carefully put the flower behind his ear.Â
âAll done, Papa! Now you look pretty too!â She kissed his cheek and pulled back, giggling with a smile.
He sat up, the flower still in place and noticed each of you had a flower behind your ear too. He felt ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous. But the smiles on both of your faces made him roll his eyes and leave it alone. âThanks, I guess.â
âYouâre welcome, Papa!â Mouse preened before gasping and running away.
âNow what the hell is she doing?â Sukuna asked as he stood, giving you a gentle kiss and taking the bag of goods from your hand.Â
âApparently picking another flower,â you said, watching Mouse hunt for the perfect one for her needs. She found it, snatched it up and came running back.Â
âI be right back,â she told the two of you, clambering up onto the engawa and taking off running yelling out at the top of her lungs, âUraume? Where you go? I gonna find you!â
âDonât,â came the equally loud reply.
âIâm guessing everyone is getting a flower adornment,â Sukuna said with forced disgust as he glanced down at you.
âItâs not so bad, besides,â you said, tilting your head back, a sign he had learned meant you wanted kisses. He obliged and brought his head down. You cupped his face and kiss him before moving to walk away and looking over your shoulder, âIt suits you.â With that, you walked away.
He had every intention of drying and keeping the flower, but he would not let either of you know and he would not let that slide. A flower accessory suiting the King of Curses? And not even a fucking poisonous one? Ridiculous!
Giving in to the absurdity he recently found himself being faced with regularly these days, he stormed after you calling out, âThe hell it does! Take that back!â
âNo take backs!â you called over your shoulder with a smirk on your face.
âIâll show you no take backs, brat,â he growled under his breath. Heâd wipe that smirk right off your face. His suffering had no end in sight. But what sweet, sweet suffering it was. Â

-- âHey, kid,â Your brother is hunched over a bowl of cereal in your kitchen. âGotta question for ya.â
You pick the sleep from your eyes, still groggy as you shuffle over to the coffeemaker. âShoot.â
âYou know Scotty?âÂ
You turn to face him, narrowing your eyes as if attempting to read his mind. âYeah, why?â Scottyâs a nice kid, probably your favorite of Chrisâs friends. Heâs always treated you like an equal, instead of his buddyâs little sister. He has long, disheveled sandy blonde hair, green eyes, and sparse facial hair, reminding you of Kurt Cobain, if heâd had a happier disposition. Chris and Scotty had grown up inseparable, it didnât surprise you that Chris would want to set you up with him.
âWell, and donât like, shoot the messenger here, he wanted me to ask if youâd be interested in going out with him at all.â Chris seems to wince as he says the words, only adding more layers of confusion to the situation.
You shrug. âI mean, I donât have anything against it.â You honestly had never given Scotty a second thought, but youâve been single for about three years now. You deserve some fun.Â
âReally? Cool. Weâre all going to the skate park later, you should come hang. Test the waters.â Chris points at you. âIâll let you pick the snacks.â
You canât help but scoff. âI pick the snacks anyway, Crispy.â
âOf course, Beebs.â
â
Itâs unseasonably warm for October, requiring only a hoodie and your go to knit beanie for coverage. Chris greets his friends, dapping each of them with a unique flair you canât comprehend. Boys confuse you. Luckily, youâre not the only girl there, some of Chrisâs friends have brought their girlfriends, and when you go to greet them, your smile is wiped from your face.Â
âYouâre Bee!â Macy extends one manicured hand out to you from where she sits on the graffitied wooden table. âHi, Macy.â You greet her lamely, shaking her hand that feels way too soft to be natural.
âThese are my girls, Fiona and Zoe.â She motions to the girls beside her, both of them absolutely stunning. Fiona has dark skin that seems to glow in the sun, her hair in long, tight braids down her back, wearing a Citizen sweatshirt and ripped baggy jeans. Zoe is a petite girl, with purple hair tied in space buns on either side of her head. Sheâs wearing a shirt three sizes too big, her black jeans cuffed. You suddenly feel far too self aware for your liking in your paint stained cargo pants and hoodie worn with age. âWhere are your buds, Bee?â Macy asks, passing you what looks like the butt of a joint.Â
âWhat, Steve and Robin? Theyâre working today, Iâm just hanging out with my brother.â You inhale the roach, feeling the sting in your throat before passing it along to Zoe. âYou guys skate?â
âRoller, mostly.â Zoe pulls a pair of neon green roller skates out of her duffel bag. âYou?â
âA little, nothing impressive.â You drop your board to the concrete, a hand-me-down from your brother when heâd earned enough for a new one.Â
âHello, ladies!â Scotty and Chris approach your group, with Eddie and Gareth close behind them. You can feel your facial muscles fall into a frown at the sight of Eddie, and he locks eyes with you, a teasing grin on his face. âBee, didnât expect you here.â You think he winks at you, but it could just be the sun in his eyes.Â
âChris conveniently left out the part where youâd be here.â You grumble, fiddling the board with your feet.Â
âHuh, wonder why heâd do such a thing!â Eddie nudges your brother, who shoves him back with more force than probably necessary. You turn to look at Macy, whoâs got an obvious scowl directed at her boyfriend. If thatâs even what he is.Â
âCan we cut the chit chat, please? My grandmotherâs coming over for dinner, I need to be home by six.â Garet groans, dropping his board.
âYeah, yeah. Chris, you bring the shit?â Eddie asks, turning away from you to drop his own board.
âYeah, man. Who dâyou think I am?â Chris shrugs off his backpack, opening it to reveal a handheld camera, fisheye lens attached. âWhoâs first?â
Eddie doesnât bother answering, pushing himself across the park to gain momentum. Scotty turns to you, giving you a smile before he follows Eddie, who is then followed by Chris, camera to his face.Â
âYou guys cominâ? You turn to Macy, who doesnât meet your eyes, and to her friends distracted by their phones.
âYeah, for sure, one sec.â Zoe says, typing fiendishly. When she finishes, Macyâs phone dings in her hand, and she answers it with her own speedy fingers. You look at Fiona, whoâs blowing a bubble with her gum so big youâre afraid itâll get caught in Macyâs hair.
âOkayâŠâ You pivot, about to push off and meet the guys, when Macy spits the next words right at her. âHow do you know Eddie, Bee?â
âWhat?â You stumble, board slipping from underneath you and rolling away. You chase it down shamefully, returning to the girls with a red face. âHeâs Chrisâs friend.â
âFor how long?â She doesnât sound mad, exactly. Worried, maybe. About what, you have no idea.
âOh, I dunno. Chris met him at an after school club where he had to volunteer in high school to stay out of juvy,â The words pour from you, uncensored. âEddie was, like, his little brother.âÂ
âOh, so heâs like, your brother too?â Her voice lilts, optimistic.
You shrug, putting no effort behind it. âHeâs more like an unwanted growth, if Iâm being honest.â You regret the words immediately, but Macy laughs at them, so hard that she snorts.Â
âSorry, I was just so worried he had a thing for you!â She relaxes continuing, âI like him so much, but Iâm not, like, willing to compete for him, yâknow? Well, thatâs not true either. I would, probably. But Iâm glad I donât have to!â Her friends giggle, and you shift uncomfortably where you stand, on display in front of the three of them like an American Idol contestant.Â
âHey, lazy bones!â Chris calls from across the park, âYou guys gonna skate or what? My followers love watching the ladies!â
âYeah, weâre coming!â Macy shouts, reaching for her own pair of black and pink skates. âLetâs go upstage these noobs, huh?â She holds out her hand, and you pull her up from her spot, her friends following closely behind. The guys are eating shit, trying ridiculously hard to get the shots they need for their clips. It makes you giggle, watching some of the silliest guys you know take something like skateboarding so seriously.
âBee, come do one! Youâre probably the best out of all of us!â Scotty invites you over, and you can feel your cheeks warm with the flattery. You hold your board in front of you, gathering your momentum before dropping it, hopping on with ease. Your friends, even Eddie, cheer you on as you flip the board, landing an ollie on the first try, and grinding the rail with ease. The adrenaline flows through you, propelling you forward. The board is an extension of yourself, you control it with the finesse of a dancer. Chris films the whole thing, whooping and hollering every time you land a trick.Â
âYou get that?â You shout to your brother when you finish your run. He nods, offering you the camera to watch yourself back. Youâre watching a completely different person, someone confident and graceful, someone that knows exactly what to do with their body, how to move it to their advantage. You donât recognize yourself, or even really believe itâs you youâre watching. You donât say any of that, instead only adding a weak âhell yeahâ to the group commentary.
â
âFood?â Chris passes you the blunt as your group walks to the parking lot. The sun is setting, casting an orange glow over the earth. You and your friends are exhausted, bruised and scraped up, but in good spirits.
âI could go for some grub!â Scotty skips up next to you, shoulder bumping yours as he motions for the spliff between your fingers. You hand it to him, nodding in agreement. In front of you, Eddie walks with his arm around Macy, whose other hand is laced with Fionaâs, whose other arm is linked with Zoeâs. He whispers something to her, causing her to giggle into the crook of his neck.
âBee?â Scotty waves a ringed hand in front of your dead stare, snapping you back to the conversation. âBurritos?â
âWhat? Oh, sure. I could go for a burrito.âÂ
âMe too!â Eddie calls, raising his free arm. The girls nod. Gareth is complaining about not being able to come. âItâs okay, bud. Iâm sure your motherâs making her world famous chili tonight. We should be the jealous ones.â
That seems to satiate his sour mood a bit. He waves his goodbyes to everyone before sliding into the driverâs seat of his momâs hatchback. The remaining seven of you split between two cars, Eddie taking Macy and her girls while you ride with Chris and Scotty. You climb into the back, letting Scotty take shotgun in Chrisâs Corolla. âBee,â Scotty pivots to face you from the front seat. âYou like music, right?â
You raise an eyebrow at him. âAre there people that donât?â
He forces a chuckle, stirring your confusion further. âI mean, like, youâre into it. Right? Chris tells me you go to all the local shows, and youâre constantly planning trips to festivals and stuff.â
You turn your gaze from Scotty to your brother, squinting at him. âChris suddenly likes to talk about me?â
âTo be fair, I asked him a lot of these questions. I was uh, wondering if youâd wanna go to Emo Night Indy with me, this Saturday?â
Emo Nite. Casual, and rumor has it really fun for people like you. You grew up listening to Paramore and My Chemical Romance, dabbling in black box hair dye in middle school, collecting rubber bracelets of your favorite bands. âOh, that sounds like fun! Iâd love to go with you guys.âÂ
Scotty frowns at the plurality, and looks to Chris for help. You look, too, pretending not to know whatâs going on. âActually, Beebs, I have plans that night. Band practice, and Iâm sure mom will call me into the bar to work.â
You shrug, playing along. âCool with me, that okay with you, Scotty?â
The boy nods, suddenly shy. âWorks for me!â He exclaims as Scotty pulls into the Tequilas parking lot beside Eddieâs rusted hunk of metal.Â
âWell, hello again, friends⊠and Bee.â He grins at you, triggering another straining eye roll. âWhat have we missed in our short time apart?â
âScotty asked Bee out!â Chris seems to respond too quickly, and you whip your head to glare at him. What you donât quite catch is Eddieâs expression, his teasing smile and sparkling eyes seem to fade into a grimace, but youâre too busy silently scolding your brother to catch it.Â
âOh, really?â Eddie recovers, clearing his throat. âWhere to?â
âEmo Nite, this weekend.â Scotty, completely oblivious to the different glares being shot around the group, answers gleefully.Â
âOh, in the city! The girls are performing at that, aren't cha, babe?â He shakes Macyâs shoulders, and she blushes.Â
âYeah, we go on at ten. Hope you guys like punk!â Any excitement youâd had for your date seems to crash like an elevator pulley snapping, sending your heartbeat plummeting into your stomach, making you sick.Â
â
âWhyâd you tell him?â You berate Chris as you open the door to your house, kicking your sneakers off without bothering to untie them. You turn around to face him, crossing your arms over your chest as if youâre your own mother, scolding him for eating cookies before dinner.
âTold who? Told him what? Youâre gonna have to be more specific, Bee.â He passes by you, ignoring the way you seem to simmer with rage.
âEddie! Whyâd you have to tell him Iâm going on a date?â
Chris makes an âI dunnoâ noise, shrugging as he plops himself on the couch. âDidnât think it would bother you that much. Why does it bother you?â
Itâs your turn to make a noise of uncertainty. âHe doesnât need the details of my personal life, Chris. Heâs your friend, not mine.â
Chris scoffs, snagging the remote from the coffee table before you can. âWhatever, sounds like youâre the one that cares too much about what he knows.
âWhat does that even mean?â
Chris ignores you, flipping through streaming apps before landing on the usual, the ukulele of Bobâs Burgers a comfortable background noise. Your phone buzzes, and you peel your glare away from your sibling to read it.
Scotty A.: heyy =)
You type a âhi!â back, sending it without a second thought. This will be good, you think. A welcome distraction from the chaos thatâs surrounded you for the past month. Your phone buzzes again.Â
Excited for Saturday! Have a good night, beautiful.
âÂ
âScotty? From band class?â Robin interrogates you over the counter. Youâd sat on the news of your date all day, debating on whether or not to tell your friends before it actually happens. If it even does happen.Youâve been texting all day, though, so you decide to talk through your anxiety with your friends.Â
âYeah, him. Super senior Scotty.â Itâs a nickname heâd introduced himself as, one heâd embraced after his second run at senior year.Â
âForgive me if this is rude, but, why?â Steve asks from where he stands, pretending to put records away.
âCarpe diem, I guess? Why not?âÂ
Steve secedes to your argument, motioning in agreement. ââSâhe cute, at least?â
âHeâs not hard to look at.â The back of your neck is hot as you say it. Steve points to your cheeks teasingly, but brings no more attention to your bashful state. Robin looks back and forth between the two of you, irritated with being left out of the loop. âWhat about Eddie?â
Your playful banter with Steve dies in your throat, as if a trapdoor has opened and swallowed you whole. âRobin, what the hell?â Steve tries to sever the tension, but it's stifling.Â
âWhat about Eddie?â You await her response as she darts her eyes between you, and Steve over your shoulder. âI- uh,â Sheâs floundering, you use it.
âDid he say something to you?â You push, you need leverage. âRob, I can give you Nancy Wheelerâs phone number right now, I just need you to tell me what youâre talking about.â
âRobin,â Steveâs voice is a warning. He catches Robinâs eyes and holds her gaze, eyes unblinking, unwavering. She loses, looking shamefully to the dull tile of the store floor. âIâm sorry, Steve. I canât lie to her!â She looks at you, eyes glassy, lip trembling. âI donât know the whole story, but I was eavesdropping at the bar last night.â
â
Last Night (as told by Robin)
âHey, I gotta pee!â Robin shouts in your ear, and you nod, taking her drink back to your side of the bar. Robin is careful not to wobble as she finds her way into the bathroom. Unfortunately, itâs not until she walks past the empty urinals and into a stall that she realizes sheâs in the wrong restroom. Even more unfortunately, she doesnât get to make an escape before two sets of footsteps enter the bathroom, placing themselves at the urinals that she would have to walk by to escape. Urinals that, for some reason, face a mirror. A mirror she would risk being seen by men, in the mensâ room. Sheâd never live that down.Â
âSo, you gotta girl, S-scott?â Itâs Eddie, slurring his words after another night celebrating his mentorâs return. Robin, personally, thinks Eddie is Chrisâs bitch. He has yet to prove her wrong.
âNah, man,â The second voice, presumably Scott, responds. Behind their voices, Robin has to tune out the sounds of them pissing, while simultaneously trying to silence her own stream.
âYou into anyone?â Eddie prods, and Robin canât help wondering why men have to be drunk to talk about their crushes.
âI mean, I think Beeâs kinda cuteâŠâ The voice gets shy, but Eddie doesnât take the hint.
âChrisâs little sister?â
Silence. Presumably, heâs nodding.
âBet I could get you in with her.âÂ
âReally, man?â The voice is eager. Robin thinks itâs sweet.Â
âYeah, man. I got two tickets to Emo Nite Indy. I was gonna ask her to go, but Macy got me on her guestlist.â This confuses Robin supremely. You and Eddie donât get along, why in the world would he invite you out on what is, very clearly, a date?
âWait, I donât like, want to whisk her away from you or anything.â The second, decidedly much nicer guy, questions him. Their streams have stopped, and Robin leans against the door to listen as they continue.Â
âOh donât worry, I lost my shot with her a long time ago.â Eddie doesnât elaborate, and Scott doesnât pry. Robin is silently pleading he pries, but to no avail. The footsteps fade from earshot, and sheâs once again alone in the mensâ room.Â
â
Present
Youâre stunned into silence. Not a single thought is making it from your brain to your throat, instead feeling air pass between your ears, fanning the electrical fire Robâs story has caused.Â
âRob, you broke our friend.â Steve scolds, motioning to where youâre frozen, reeling, trying to make sense of the fantastical myth your best friend has spun for you.Â
"You cannot be serious." You manage to speak, but you sound unconvinced even to yourself.
âScoutâs honor. I had a couple last night, but I remember it all. Here,â She pulls her phone from her pocket, punching in the code before handing it to you. The screen is opened to a Notes entry, and you try hard not to laugh.Â
S: beeâs cute
E: can get u in (??? wtf)
E: emo nite (omg fun) / (WAIT WHAT?!) / (how long has he had these?) / (THEY WENT ON SALE SIX MONTHS AGO⊠BEFORE CHRIS HAD HIS RELEASE DATE?! IS THAT WHY HE CAME BACK?!?!?! dkfgdkngkdÂ
You canât help but snicker as the note descends from quoting what sheâs hearing to reacting to the words being said. âOkay, I get it! It just, doesnât make any sense.â
âMaybe this is his way of apologizing.â Steve offers. âYâknow, setting you up with a nice guy, to make up for not being a nice guy.â
âSo what, he grew a conscience? Only took him,â You pause to mime checking a watch youâre not wearing, âsix years. Bullshit. Heâs got more stake in this than that.â
âBee, you have got to stop thinking Eddieâs out to ruin your life.â
âDonât you dare tell me what to feel, Robin. I know what I know.â
âAnd how many times has Chris told you that what you âknowâ isnât the whole goddamn story? Grow up! Let it fucking go!â The silence following her shouts is deafening in the empty record store, save for you three. âOr, if you are so desperate to prove me wrong, do it. But donât come crying to me when the information you find doesnât support the narrative in your fucking head.â She storms into the back room of the store marked EMPLOYEES ONLY. âIâm taking my goddamn lunch!â She calls over her shoulder.
You huff out a breath, heart slamming against your ribcage as you pivot to face Steve. He holds his hands up, an old Paramore record in one hand, the same one playing over the speakers. âDonât look at me, baby. Iâm not part of that circus.â
You canât help but laugh, and Steve joins you in thinning the tension slightly. Robinâs words replay in your head, causing the whispers of another spiral on your heels.

IT'S KAWOSHIN DAY!!! As well as the last day of Kawoshin Week :') It's been such a blast, gonna miss it when it's over
Kawoshin Week Day 7: Cuddling/domestic fluff! + Sleepover and Spinoffs (again)! Based on the Campus Apocalypse sleepover chapter âșïž
#shinji ikari#kaworu nagisa#kawoshin#neon genesis evangelion#campus apocalypse#nge#nge ca#toma draws#kawoshinweek2024#CAwoshin again! wanted to ensure my favorite niche kawoshin got some representation in the week in case no one else did stuff with them...#which wasn't the case since literally every fill for the spinoffs prompt has been campus apocalypse!!! which i'm overjoyed about đ„ș#my second option for today was finishing a sonicverse kawoshin wip for the free day prompt. but i already included sonic in the week with-#the song lyrics i used for my day 5 piece so i went with this instead#also went with this because. um. my original plan for today was actually. a CA fic for these same prompts set after said sleepover chapter#but i'm neither fast nor confident at writing so i. haven't finished it (i DID get it to almost 1500 words so far though! progress)#so i thought i'd color something i drew while thinking about it :')#i did it while taking a break from my day 5 piece and was pretty loose about it so it's not super polished and i'm not sure how i feel abt-#the colors but! it hits the soft cozy vibe i was going for and that's good enough for me#if i manage to finish the fic within the year i might still include it as a very late week entry... no promises though. we'll see

(AC wip) The Savage Price of Piety
it's desmond's deathday and i wrote like. 9,000 more words to this wip (first two parts here) last week and i want to brag about it, so happy deathday you wet bastard (mostly gen but with a surprise rarepair, time travel/reincarnation, found family, william milesâ a+ parenting, accidental subterfuge, desmond goes by miles mostly, inspired by study of flight by @esamastation but with a twist!, only somewhat historically accurate swears by which i mean probably not at all but leonardo had some Opinions alright) have some (three) chronological but scattered bits of scenes
âOh,â Claudia says as soon as she opens the door, seeing Ezioâs rather wretched expression, âyouâve figured it out, then.â
âYou could have told me,â he growls, following her into the entryway and closing the door behind himself.Â
Claudia scoffs, spinning on heel to lead the way further into the building for the kitchens. âI had one conversation with the boy, brother, I was hardly sure of it myself. Wait,â she halts and points a finger at him accusingly, âhow did you figure it out?â
Ezio, quite graciously he thinks, ignores the subtle insult to his intelligence. Sighing, he pushes back his hood before their mother sees him with it on indoors, and runs a hand over his beard. âI had Leonardo visit.â
Claudiaâs face slackens, before twisting into a rage that has Ezio stepping away warily.
But she punches the wall instead of her brother, a shouted âGods damn it!â echoing in the narrow space. Then she spins on her heel and hollers further into the residential part of the bordello, âMother! We forgot about Leonardo!â
Horrified by his sister and concerned for his motherâs current mental state, Ezio reaches out to put a hand on Claudiaâs arm, but he doesnât get the chance before Maria de' Auditore is shouting right back, âGod damn it!â
Grumbling, Claudia stomps down the hall and leaves a very confused Ezio hurrying to follow; she ignores all his pleas for explanation until sheâs stomped into the kitchen, where their mother is pouring two very large glasses of wine, with very little water to cut down the potency. She passes one to Claudia silently, and then they both drink, though luckily they arenât attempting to down it all at once.
âI canât believe we forgot the Maestro,â their mother mutters to herself as she comes over to kiss Ezio on both cheeks, before shoving the still mostly-full glass into his hands.
âForgot him for what?â Ezio wants to know, clutching the glass like a mother clutches a babe.
âTo test if Miles really is an Auditore.â Itâs said so flippantly, like it doesnât affect Claudia at all, but she also collapses into one of two chairs at the little tea table under the largest window. Their mother takes the other, massaging her forehead and looking like sheâs grieving their family all over again.
It occurs to Ezio, as he moves to stand next to the table, that she probably is.
--
âItâs all up to you now, Seventeen.â
Desmond opens his eyes to the dark of the dormitory, faint moonlight cutting over the floor between his bed and Ninoâs, and he canât bring himself to move â even to roll off his arm that is very much still asleep.Â
  Clay still haunts him.
Five hundred fucking years, and his current twenty-four besides, and that fucker still wonât leave him alone. If Desmond were not so familiar with what an actual Bleed feels like, heâd almost think Clay is stuck in his brain the same way as his ancestors. Thank fuck he stopped Bleeding Ezioâs memories and feelings, while still retaining much of the training.
Fuck, time travel is so weird.
Or, reincarnation? Heâs not sure of much, but heâs sure he was dead, heâs sure he burned, and heâs sure that though his 15th century mother had affectionately called him [redacted], his name is Desmond Miles.
Or just Miles, he supposes. Sue him, he panicked when Adele first approached him, and the best aliases are ones you know youâll respond to, right? If only heâd have had the forethought to divorce himself from his... future familyâs surname.
It sounds different enough with an Italian accent that it hasnât caused any problems, yet. Like making him flinch. Or snapping that he hasnât been a Miles since he was sixteen.
Granted, he still has no idea what he would go by instead. AltaĂŻr and Conner would feel weird, while Sef or Darim are just a bit on the nose, and does he look like an Edward? Malik, maybe. His grandmother here, now, is actually from the Levant, so his skin is certainly dark enough that people wouldnât be surprised by the name.
Except that feels almost akin to naming himself Leonardo.
--
So instead, Leonardo spends every spare moment with his best friend, sometimes to brainstorm, sometimes to simply be there for him. Itâs during one of these visits, he and Ezio once again observing the youngest assassins in the training ring, that he hears Miles laugh for the first time, and itâs as if ice water has been poured directly into his veins.
Oh fuck. Oh Saints, oh Holy Father, oh fuck.
âLeonardo?â Ezio asks quietly, head tilted towards him in concern, but Leonardo ignores him to stumble for the bannister to lean over it and stare down at Miles learning a little jig from Tullio, laughing all the while.
He had only heard it once, truth be told, and it had been SalaĂ that had caused it, but even three years later, Leonardo remembers the laugh of Rodrigo Borgiaâs sinister little shadow.
Below, Miles doesnât stop smiling, but his golden brown gaze yanks up towards Leonardo as if knowing his thoughts are about him. His eyes narrow, then widen slightly in realisation, and then he winces and looks away, which is all the confirmation Leonardo needs.
Turning around, Leonardo grabs a confused Ezio by the arm and drags him from the training room, ignoring his protests until they find the nearest empty room.
  âLeonardo, whatâ?â
  âRomulus.â

"Miss You" by Sweetbox. Somewhat inspired by how one of the Buffy writers said that she thought one of the reasons Buffy and Angel really resonated with people in season three, was how even though they truly loved each other, that still wasn't enough to make it work for them. And sometimes that is the case with real life relationships too, of course.
#it's also just because i think the song fits them. and weirdly enough. as much as i love bangel. i have a hard time finding songs that i#think work for them#even though this isn't my favorite song in the world and really took me back to some of my cringe-y high school days (that are far too long#ago now). oh well. lol#and of course i think bangel makes it work in the future;)#bangel#buffy the vampire slayer#song edits are fun and i haven't done one in a while and this was nice. especially my first one for bangel#-needs to do more song edits-#it was also nice to do something for bangel again (my first of the year) because i've so been wanting to. i just didn't know what but i've#had this idea for a while and finally decided to make it:)#edit#mine#my work#shanna's various forms of art#song edit#picture edit#manip#buffy summers#angel#buffy and angel#i was also thinking of using some comic scenes for these but i didn't need to and you know what? i think i prefer it that way oc#and i even still used a few scenes here that i don't think people use very often which is cool

Listening to coinstar by the growlers and thinking about mel so hard I get nauseous
Ridiculous stream of conscious in the tags apologies but not really
#it speaks#white woman moment#its really funny bc like. its very much a her to jfk song#(everyones favorite problematic short king)#but she looks at him with uhhh#like heres this kid(hes 28) standing on the precipice o what she had been all those years ago#but he KNOWS it she didnt know she thought she had mold poisoning from her shitty apartment until she died#and she is projecting so much onto him. which is part of why she doesn't respect him at all#'im a sucker just like you'#its also funny bc like. it is Too Late for Phoenix.also its scary that theyre hungry bc as far as she knows death avatars arent supposed 2 b#but also theyre the first one shes met. and Phoenix is kind of just scary in general.#but being around those two is like. almost flashbacky(jfk also reminds her alot of her ex aroun that age tho audreys dad was Worse)#(she never met him but heard enough stories about the guy and i mean. he fed her to the hunt on purpose.#i dont think jorges dad wanted what was going to happen to happen)#part of why she texted her so fast tbh. not that they hadnt talked at all since the divorce.#i thinj they talked. not alot bc mel WAS in europe and international data rates pre smartphone age oof ouch#and also like. they did irrevocably harm eachother physically and mentally but they do both careeeeee#tho. i do not think melissa wouldve ever dropped everything to go help audrey like audrey would and did for her.#(girl who runs away from her problems x girl who is a dog)#auuughhhhhh#she really is my chew toy.#i also think alot about her sky mafia years but those r fun and sexy little secrets for me#as much as i love Basil's motw campaign i do with it was easier to unentangle her from tma lore.#bc like. normal vampire works well but it loses so much of the flavor. various sea beasts keep the flavor but loose the morality.#for pathfinder if i were to redo her id go with storm oracle and then spec into kineticist. which does work Ok I Guess.#but like. even that its still not what i want#one scene that probably would've never happened in game but i thought ahout if we ever went back to the item storage or maybe a wierd thrift#shop or something was to like. have her come across a violin and pick it up and make it scream horribly. like. really concentrate on making#it make the worst noise imaginable. shes trying to reach that wonderful horrible music avatars mention alot in the earlier seasons#and then realizes everyone else Hates That So Much and jokingly play one of the devil's riffs from tdwdg. tbh i should finally draw that

Today's Daily BakuDeku Song Is: Growing Old On Bleeker Street - AJR
And its tough believing There's someone living out there Happier than me Happier than me We may be lost And gone forever The rain will wash our memory But when we cry We cry together Like it was meant to be
#dkbkdk#dekubaku#dkbk#bakudeku#bkdk#it's a miracle we went this far without an ajr song. honestly.#(they are my favorite band)#(i was holding myself back)#this is an izuku pov song :)#it was hard to pick what lyric to use for this one too#but in my head this is just izuku kinda reminiscing with katsuki a bit#maybe it's during that 8 year period where izuku's pretty much accepted that he's not going to be a pro hero#''sometimes i wonder if we matter at allâ if we're not written downâ who will remember now?''#izuku wondering if anyone will remember him as a hero...#katsukiâ white knuckle gripping his pantsâ trying so hard not to tell izuku about the surprise he's working on with their friends#''i'm sure everyone will remember you as an amazing hero izuku.'' < said barely holding himself together#but yeah i think this song could be a really bittersweet izuku dreaming about being hero partners togetherâ somehow#even though he's kinda accepted itâ with the wholeâ ''dreams are only dreams''
