I feel compelled by some recent realizations to share the story of my lifetime experience with weight, weight loss, fatphobia, and self acceptance.
I weighed 180 lbs for a lot of my early childhood, and got bullied constantly for it. It was comorbid with severe, impairing asthma that limited my ability to use my body at any pace faster than a brisk, if I was lucky, walk. Nobody ever blamed the asthma, they just called me out of shape, lazy - all the usual insults. I got kicked out of high school gym class in both grades it was a required course because I couldn't run fifteen laps of the gym. I never signed up for it again.
I was the school whipping boy wherever I went. (I moved schools a lot, because I'd lash out violently about this happening to me) One time in elementary school a group of boys hid behind me because they were being bothered by some girls, and knew they wouldn't get within ten feet of me outside the classroom where they were forced to. The first guy I ever hooked up with negged me to lose weight and join him at the gym if I wanted to do anything more serious with him.
Then a growth spurt combined with a two week vacation where I only ate ramen twice a day in high school shaved literally a third of that off. 120 lbs. My parents and I considered it a miracle. Suddenly I really liked how I'd come to look. I went from a frumpy, comely child to a heroin chic rockstar like David Bowie, and all the other imitators that chased after him, and I wasn't even trying!
I was skin stretched over bones. If I lifted my arms up every single rib from the collarbone to the stomach was pronounced, with gaps you could run your fingers along. This was before I realized I was trans, so I was mostly putting myself into the world as a twink (femboy hadn't really come into parlance yet, I'd probably have used it if so). People started treating me well for the first time in my life, I was popular. My romantic advances were reciprocated instead of pushed away in disgust for the first time in my life, I went on dates, I had a couple short lived girlfriends.
Some time in my twenties, I realized I was lactose intolerant. To both truncate and avoid needless disgust; once I took steps to mitigate that my weight rebounded back up from the 160 it had ended up settling at as my metabolism evened out, to 216. So I tortured myself with the most bland, boring diet in the world: plain oat cheerios, cashews, barely seasoned salads and coleslaw, microwaved chicken wiener sandwiches. It sloughed off the pounds, at first.
I hit a hitch around 180. I had originally wanted to go back down to 160, with the height I'd gained since high school that would put me in about the same ballpark range as how I looked then, and it's what the BMI scale says is healthy for my body proportions. But I simply could not go under 180.
Even a single cheat day a week, the recommended amount for any diet, would make my body snap back up by two pounds the next day, which took me the entire rest of the week just to get back to where I started. It was truly miserable, checking the scale every single morning and beating myself up over every single time my family took me out to eat or brought me leftovers.
So I stopped. I said fuck it, let my body sit at 185. Now? I can eat pretty much anything I want and it barely makes a dent in the long run. Recently checked in after three nights of stacked turkey dinner plates for the holidays, with eggnog and ice cream and a whole bag of christmas candy sitting on my desk next to me that I take occasional nibbles from. 184.8, exactly where I want it to be. The BMI scale says this is the borderline of overweight for my height.
An acquaintance who had known me while I was in that emaciated point in my life recently reconvened with me, and said that I looked a lot healthier. It was genuinely the first time anyone in the world had made a positive comment about my body outside of that short lived stint of emaciation. It was a genuine shock, because I hadn't up to that point considered for a second that I could possibly have looked bad to anyone at that point.
An article I doubt I could find with how bad google is nowadays once said that around 97% (I might even be lowballing it) of diets fail, because the body will slash your metabolism by 30% if you drop even 5% from where it wants to sit. I guess all I have to say is: listen to your body.
If maintaining your slim figure is a hobby all unto itself: with a meticulously crafted diet and double digit hour exercise regimen that you lock yourself in by checking the scale every morning? It's not worth it, holy shit. Maybe you'll end up with an extended illness that keeps you from working out for a week or two. Maybe your willpower will just finally give out, and you'll spend a week catching up on all the pleasure you'd denied yourself while you were dieting. But I know, from experience, that one day you'll just end up where your body wants you to be, whether you're comfortable with it or not.
I promise you that the freedom of accepting the weight your body wants to be at and being able to treat yourself guilt free will bring you so much more joy than having a thigh gap does.

Has anybody ever stole your happy? More like life stuff and health issues did. And depression is a real bitch.
What does your Facebook/Myspace status say? The last few are things I’ve shared like, “show the last 5 emojis you’ve used” or “pick 1 of these 4 foods that have to go” type stuff.
Have you ever played games with someones head? I don’t think so. I’ve had people play games with mine.
Have you changed throughout the years? Yes. A lot changed these past 6 years and not in a good way. And also a lot hasn’t changed that really needs to.

My Cheap & Relatively Healthy Grocery List for College Students
Context: I had been used to eating fast food so much because it was cheap that when I went to the doctors' they said I had high glucose content. That wasnt good. So I started eating healthier. Anyway let's skip the BS and get straight into it:
Ramen: the OG cheap food. I personally don't own ramen bc I dont like it that much, but if you want to save money this is the meal, at least add an egg or some veggies to make it healthier.
Frozen Veggies: anywhere from 50 cents to a dollar or two a bag. Can easily be kept in your freezer (if you have one) for months
Mac n' cheese: my all-time favorite. Of course, it might not be healthy for everyone to eat pasta all the time, but I do it anyway. Add some real cheese and spices for taste or chicken and veggies in it / on the side.
Other Pasta boxes (Pasta Roni, Velveeta, Hamburger Helper, etc.): basically as cheap or almost as cheap as Kraft macaroni, but maybe you arent a fan of mac n cheese.
Soup (Soup!!): Cambell's Tomato soup is often $1 a can. I like to eat mine with grilled cheese. Thats a whole ass meal. But of course you can get other soups just as cheap. Basically, any canned foods.
Canned foods & veggies: this one goes without saying. Although, the better options are sometimes $2 to $3 the same can be said for frozen veggies, but just heat these up and cook them in fried rice or just add butter and eat them aside a nice entré
Chunk light tuna: speaking of canned foods, canned tuna is soooo cheap and is a great option (if you even like tuna). Dont actually get the "pack tuna" for $1 a pack unless you want to keep it in your bag bc canned tuna is around 60 cents a can. Mix it with Miracle Whip (or mayo) and spread it over break for a good sammich.
Grilled cheese (or cheese toastie if you arent American I think??): similar to previous options, youre getting your cheese and your butter and your bread. Not as healthy as other options but way better than fast food calories.
Quesadillas: similar to grilled cheese, except spICY. My brother only eats these and he has no meal plan. I do it now too. Honestly, adding up tortillas, cheese dip, shredded cheese, & chicken is kind of costly but worth it. Also cooking chicken is annoying bc I dont have time for that. But. Yknow. A great option.
Pillsbury Crescents: a little costly, about $2+ per tube, but still fookin delicious. Also imma be real: actually havent checked the nutrition label to see if these are actually healthy. But these are sO useful. Make them by themselves for breakfast (with jam, eggs, or alone) or use the dough for other recipes. I use these with Manwich sauce, cheese, and ground beef for snacks :)
Manwiches: manwich sauce cans are $1 and although they have some sugar, its not nearly as bad as fast food. Just cook up some ground beef to go with it & maybe add cheese, sliced bread, or hamburger buns
PB&J: Another OG. I could never get tired of these. You just gotta make sure you have soft bread and the pb&j and youre good to go. Although..like.. some people apparently like theirs toasted or with different jams (I like strawberry).
Eggs!!!! : Just keep these in your fridge. Just do it. You never know when youre going to run out of food. Boiled? Scrambled? Fried? Soft boiled? With ramen? Omelet? In fried rice? Egg sandwich??? Eat them with bread, eat them with toast, eat them as a breakfast sandwich, scramble them with cheese, the list goes on. If you dont eat them often, get a smaller carton, but always have eggs! Also, for baking.
Rice, or fried rice: If you like rice, have been cooking rice for a long time, and can actually make it without burning, make sure you have rice. If you like rice but have never actually made it yourself, it takes trial and error in a pot. Or just invest in a rice cooker. Additionally, fried rice is not that difficult to learn & it fits the bill for healthy bc you can add unlimited veggies and meats. Im not here to educated you but the more ingredients, the better, is how i see it.
Fresh Food:
Fruit: I literally have "an apple a day" for breakfast. It's just good for you. Keep them in your fridge to keep them fresh. Keep one in your bag in case you get hungry. Bananas? Awesome! Use them in smoothies or a milkshake or eat them with your cereal or even with peanut butter. Possibilities are endless with fruit. Just make sure they dont spoil. Apples are OG bc they dont spoil as easily.
Vegetables: Make sure to only periodically get them so that they dont go to waste. Make some broccoli with butter & eat it alongside pasta. Or asparagus. Anything you want. Just make sure to have some with your meals sometimes. Greens are good. Additionally, carrots can get addicting if yoh eat them with ranch. The plus side is they are filling. If you have a tendency to want to munch on something: carrots.
Deli Meat / Sandwich Options: I personally dont make deli sandwiches because ham (as well as roast beef or turkey) can be expensive and then wanting to add lettuce and tomato to a sandwich sounds amazing but I'm scared they will spoil. Dont let me stop you though! Sandwiches are amazing.
Meat: you dont want to be cooking meat all the time bc it can get expensive, but the basics I always get are ground beef and chicken. I prefer "boneless skinless chicken thigh fillets" but you would need to cut off the fat. You could always get rotisserie if you arent feeling to for cooking. Also, if you're feeling expensive one week, salmon is just sooo good. I ate it with asparagus and seasoned with lemon. Delicious.
Snack / Dessert Options:
(I personally don't keep snacks or dessert in my home very often bc you dont want to binge eat. But here is what I have)
Peanut butter: classic, filling, can be potentially bad if you eat a shite ton
Nuts: peanuts, almonds, cashews, and especially pecans
Cookies: make your own, a lot of simple cookie recipes exist and it's a lot easier than you think. Baking essentials like flour, sugar, milk, and eggs are not that expensive to keep around in an apartment kitchen. Difficulties may be vanilla extract (the avg student doesnt have this lying around) a baking sheet, a big bowl, and possible a whisk. Store bought cookie dough isnt too bad either.
Box-cakes / box-brownies: simple and easy. Takes a few eggs sometimes and some oil, milk or water. The same goes for pancake mix. Honestly, I had an out-of-country roommate and he had never heard of boxed cake mix or brownie mix. They always made from scratch where he lived.
Low-calorie ice cream: okay ice cream can be pretty expensive and filled w/ added sugars. I used to eat this strawberry icecream sweetened with stevia and it was SO delicious, but I couldnt find that at my grocery store. Other options are "low-calorie" ice cream or "no added sugars" ice cream. I have one of these and the thing abt it is that its just the right amount of sugar to taste like ice cream and the neat thing is that you dont feel like binging it bc it doesnt have addicting added sugars.
Milkshakes / smoothies: this is a tough one bc me and most other students dont own a blender or juicer. I personally get my smoothies from a local smoothie place that only uses fresh fruit and then I ask not to add the natural sugars bc it is sweet enough with the fruit. Natural smoothies are delicious & I find that you can kind of make then if u freeze your fruits and blend w a fork. "Handmade" milkshakes are actually super easy w this method.
Yogurt: just...mmm.
"Healthy" snack food section, often called the gluten-free aisle: im not too experienced with this and im sure they have added sugars too but what I do know is I tried these gluten free oreos once and they were delicious
Fruits: I mentioned earlier but apples are great snacks
Veggies: also like I said earlier, carrots are great snacks. Not exactly a veggie but possibly potatoes for a meal or snack.
Granola Bars: for when youre too lazy to keep up with fruit and if fruit will spoil, granola bars (they healthy kind, not the chewy sugary kind) are so good to have in your pantry or keep in your backpack for a snack (and to keep you from on campus temptations). Also I used Nature Valley ones instead of cereal. They actually dissolve and are delicious with milk, since some cereals are so sugary.
Since my last college tips post got some notes I figured I'd keep writing these advice posts. For reference, I am hoping to become an RA next year at my college, so I'm not just speaking out of my ass. I generally have experience at college thus far and want to help students.

2, 6, 12, 14, 27, 47.... foods questions
2. Grilled cheese or PB&J?
pbj, always. i like grilled cheese, sometimes. there are some truly delectable grilled cheese sandwiches out there. and it’s hard to beat a grilled cheese with your tomato soup on a cold night.
but peanut butter is the forbidden fruit.
my mother is allergic to a great many things. this has influenced my taste in two ways. some of the foods she can’t eat, i have developed a serious distaste for. shellfish, salmon, most preparations of eggplant, etc. even some things which she dislikes because even though she’s not allergic to, it seems that she ought to be, like coconut, i hate.
but sometimes it went the opposite way. some of these forbidden foods - tamarind, pumpkin seeds, sesame, cherries - i covet. peanut butter is in this second category.
though i must say, i don’t usually go for jam on my peanut butter sandwiches. i tend to go elvis style, banana slices and honey. occasionally i will treat myself to a fluffernutter, a monstrosity which, if you have never lived in new england, i gleefully invite you to google.
6.  Top three cuisines?
okay. i’m officially declaring that this will be americanized versions only. i’ve traveled a lot, over the course of my life, and i’ve always eaten like a king, even in countries whose national cuisine is universally reviled. but i feel like it’s unfair to compare that way, you know? so this is gonna be just for stuff i eat in america, or make at home.
- italian food, but only the way they do it in new haven, connecticut, and surrounding areas.
- chinese food because if you told me right now if i could never eat another bao i’d die on the spot, actually. this is also cheating a little because some of the chinese food i cook myself is a lot more like chinese-chinese food than americanized chinese food, since i’ve actually been to china and stuff, but even if i were to never cook my own chinese food again and only ate at american chinese restaurants it would still be on here.
- third is hard. third is hard. thai food? polish food? indian food? vietnamese food? it’s hard. i think i’m going to have to go with japanese food. i would be a hypocrite if i didn’t, because i just spent two hours making a passable imitation of takoyaki, with vegetarian fish chunks.
i feel kind of odd about this, because i’ve always had the sense that americanized japanese food is even further from japanese-japanese food than most americanized cuisines, because it’s so limited in scope. like, american japanese food is pretty limited to either sushi, or trendy street food/ramen places.
i always had the impression that, for example, while american chinese food is very americanized, and really only reflects the cuisine of guangdong, it might at least have something to do with what immigrants from guangdong were eating at home during the early waves of chinese immigration. i have similar impressions with other immigrant cuisines. but i do not have this impression with american japanese food, since it was really limited to sushi and whatever side dishes sushi places sold, and the expansion of things like ramen shops and street food in the last few years seem to be driven less by immigration and more by a rising trend of mainstream western culinary orientalism and weeabooism. so i feel like it’s probably incorrect to claim japanese food is one of my favorite cuisines since the american version of it is so limited.
also, just realized that i would die for a good banh mi right now so i’m changing my answer, vietnamese food.
12.  What do you get on your bagels? What WOULD you get if you had access to anything you wanted?
you can’t go wrong with a good egg and cheese. i nearly always get an egg and cheese. they’re unbeatable.
sometimes, in a certain mood, i will get strawberry cream cheese instead. sometimes, in a very certain mood, i might get just plain cream cheese, but that’s unusual.
it really does not matter what you get on a bagel. what makes or breaks a bagel sandwich is not the filling, but the bagel itself. a good bagel could make sawdust and coffee grounds delicious, and no filling on earth can save a bad bagel.
there are, of course, mediocre bagels in the world, but those are best treated with the same respect as ordinary sandwich bread, and filled accordingly.
14.  Favorite mug you own
i don’t own a ton of mugs, but since, i’m home with my parents right now, and they have a whole collection, i’ll give me favorite of theirs, which is my mom’s spock mug.
what makes this mug special is that it’s as big in terms of volume as a cappuccino mug without actually being one. instead of being as wide or wider than it is tall like a cappuccino mug, it has the same proportions as a normal mug, just scaled up. this makes it easier to hold, and easier to drink from, while still being fucking huge. plus, the wide mouths of cappuccino mugs when compared to their height mean that anything held in them goes cold in five seconds flat, while this mug has the upright shape of a traditional mug and so holds heat longer.
also, this mug has spock on it.
27.  What section do you immediately head for when you walk into a bookstore?
i’m not a huge bookstore person? i’m very hesitant about acquiring new material possession which have a finite term of usefulness, even moreso if i have to actually pay for them, and i am well aware that i will read most books only once, and some not at all. for actual reading material, i tend to prefer libraries or ebooks, to keep from adding more unmanageable clutter to my disastrous living space. libraries especially, since they’re free, and also i have a deadline to either read the damn book or give up on it.
in libraries, i tend to head for either the y.a. or adult genre fiction sections, since that’s what i go for, though usually when i come into a library i already have a book in mind. i also tend to head to audiobooks. i love audiobooks, they’re wonderful, i’ve gotten through so many books that way.
however, when i do go to bookstores, i don’t go to the stuff i would normally actually read. in more chain-y, new-book bookstores, i tend to go to the novelty books, the kind of stuff libraries don’t have. coffee table books with pictures of cats, comic collections, joke books. and i tend to check out the displays, see what’s up.
i’m also way more likely to go to the nonfiction sections of these kinds of bookstores than used bookstores or libraries, for two reasons. first, because i tend to think nonfiction makes for good gifts. if you give someone a book it comes with strings attached, no matter what, but those strings are different for different kinds of books. a novel comes with an obligation to read it cover to cover, and not just read it, but enjoy it, or at least come up with an interesting opinion on its contents. a nonfiction book does not have to be enjoyable, merely informative, and it’s a lot easier to be informed by a book than to like one. plus, most of the time you don’t actually need to read the whole thing, because although they do tend to have overall arcs and maybe overarching arguments, a lot of nonfiction books can be informative even if consumed in small chunks. second, because in chain-y, new book bookstores, the nonfiction section tends to be glutted with the sort of fun, digestible pop-nonfiction that i tend to read if i must go for nonfiction, while libraries and used bookstores run more towards the drier, probably more informative but less enjoyable sort.
in used bookstores, i tend towards a different pattern. what i look for in used bookstores is stuff that’s interesting because it’s old. cookbooks, art books, fifty cent science fiction novels. i especially like very old history and social science books; near my college there was a used bookstore that had an entire shelf of psychoanalysis books, and another of histories of like, medieval european art and design, all written in like the forties. the kind of stuff that’s out of print so wouldn’t be in a new bookstore, but is probably outdated, inaccurate, useless, and unpopular, so it isn’t in too many libraries either.
47.  How do you top your ice cream?
i’m not a huge ice cream person? like, ice cream gives me a stomach ache pretty much uhhhh always. if i’m having it in my house, scooped into a bowl, i don’t generally top it with anything, ditto with stuff i get from an ice cream shop, but the most common way i eat ice cream is actually in like, bar form? like you know those dove bars, like a bar of vanilla ice cream dipped in chocolate. does that count?
i definitely like stuff mixed into my ice cream, i’m a fiend for cookie dough and brownie chunks. maybe my favorite ice cream flavor ever came from a local ice cream shop which has tragically since shut down. it was called kettle crunch and it had chocolate covered potato chips mixed in.
i guess i always get toppings at like, those trendy froyo places that go by weight and have a buffet of toppings? but honestly, when i go to those places, i rarely get any actual froyo. usually i just fill my bowl with popping boba because they always have it and i love it. i get some fruit too, and sometimes i get some of the candy, like a few gummy worms or a kit kat. but the popping boba is the star of the show.
ok now i’ve gotten distracted researching buying popping boba online. apparently it’s not hard, but it seems like a lot of the time it comes in seven pound bucket. like i could get a small amount of the common flavors, but i have just now right now discovered that there is such a thing as chocolate popping boba and i’m losing it because it only comes in seven pound buckets but i need it.
also, chilli pepper popping boba, which has the same problem, but also holy fuck.

Baby Shower
You sighed again; the baby didn't let you sleep; each day that passed, his kicks became stronger, something that made you happy because it indicated that your baby was fine but at the same time didn't let you sleep, no matter how much you settled 15 minutes later the baby woke you up again, you decided to walk around the apartment that was big enough to tire the baby.
You started walking as quiet as possible; the boys had recently returned from North America, and Jungkook was having trouble sleeping; like a good roommate, you wanted to give him all possible rest, you couldn't stop going through the kitchen, you didn't want to eat at this time, considering that Dr. Hwang said that if you kept eating at the rate you did, you were going to end the pregnancy with more than 45 pounds more, but after a while, you succumbed to your subconscious.
All-day you didn't stop thinking about the rice cake that Jin had prepared for the neighbors, all day you were shopping with Jisoo, you already had almost everything you needed to start decorating the baby's room, so you weren't sure if the Rice cake was still in the refrigerator. You don't mind being outside Jungkook's room, you ran as fast as your belly allowed, plus he could not get mad if you woke him up; this was for his son's sake.
You opened the refrigerator door, and the disappointment took over your body, to the point of bringing you tears.
"What are you looking for?" Jungkook's voice made you slam the door shut, you looked at it, and your cheeks quickly turned red to see that he was shirtless and all sweaty, indicating that he was exercising.
"I saw if Jin Oppa had not given out the rice cakes."
"He did not distribute them" hope took over your body, your baby was screaming for the glorious food of his uncle Jin "he threw them in the trash, they were in the refrigerator for more than a week, they were already expired, but he makes more, and we already distribute them"
You sighed, frustrated. "That does not interest me; the baby really needs those rice cakes at this moment," You snap at him.
You could not believe Jin's audacity to throw out the rice cake, do more, and not take you into consideration and leave a couple for the baby; he is definitely at the bottom of the list of favorite uncles.
"We can make a trip to the store is 24 hours, I'm sure they sell rice's cake ready" You doubted a bit it was not going to be Jin's, but something was something, you agreed, causing Jungkook to give you a smile "I'm going to change I don't delay."
You really did intend to wait for him, but make a hungry pregnant wait was not a good idea, so you left him alone in the apartment and sent him a quick message telling him you were leaving. It was three in the morning, and the streets of the complex were deserted; you quickly found your way to the store because you had already gone a couple of times before, upon arrival. You were greeted by the only employee of the store at this time, you gave him a quick smile, and you went in search of what your baby wanted.
Your face lit up seeing the many different brands of rice's cake; you took about eight different brands, you never know when the craving comes back, you kept walking down the hall when you saw the takoyaki making eye contact with you, your mouth water thinking how delicious the octopus should be. You heard how the door of the store opened, and by one of the mirrors, you watched Jungkook enter at full speed looking for you.
"You know how dangerous it is for a woman to walk alone at this time" you rolled your eyes; you were in a complex that was closed, and they had security 24 hours "and much more if she is pregnant."
"Jungkook, we are in a private residential, there is 24-hour security, the most that can happen to me is that I stumble myself and I fall."
"With more reason, you should have waited for me to be with you in case you fall."
"Be useful and hold these things" you gave him all the food packages you had chosen in his absence; his face of surprise didn't stop you, and you continued looking for more food. "If you appreciate your life, you will not say anything."
You hoped that his mother had told him never to fight with a pregnant woman or he was going to die; your look went down the aisle of the packed food when you saw something that you would never eat as disgusting as it seemed to you, today it looked like a delicacy of the gods, In big letters, they said that they were exactly the same sandwiches that they give to the idols in Inkigayo, you hated those sandwiches for two good reasons.
They tasted horrible, the combination of so many flavors you never liked
More than once, you found a phone number in Jungkook sandwich
But now all those flavors were making your mouth water, so much was your emotion that you grabbed two sandwiches; Jungkook sighed resignedly, grabbing a basket to put everything you took. You started grabbing everything that seemed delicious to the baby; by the time you finished, you had almost the whole store in two baskets; from chips to ice cream, you had grabbed everything, and you were more than ready to eat them.
"Let's go home," he said as soon as you two left the store, but you shook your head. If you didn't eat the rice cake, you were going to die. Besides, it would be nice to eat under the stars "are you going to eat all this now?"
"I'm very hungry; besides, the craving has not gone"
He just shook his head to start unpacking everything you had bought and going to prepare the Ramen he chose for him. You moaned with happiness when you bit the rice cake; you started eating them at a speed that when Jungkook returned, you only had two left, and you had advanced the crab sandwiches.
"If Namjoon saw you now, He would be horrified."
"Namjoon is not pregnant; he doesn't deal with cravings; in addition, this sandwich taste like pure heaven."
They were another 10 minutes in silence, you eating everything you could and Jungkook watching some clips that he had recorded in the store for the baby movie; you watched him and saw that look of determination and happiness that you liked so much, you wished with all your heart that your baby take out that passion and love that his father puts to things. Jungkook wouldn't let you see anything of the movie because he wanted it to be a complete surprise for you. You smiled immensely when He points the camera in your direction before you put a whole ball of takoyaki in your mouth.
"Here we are in the first of what I think there will be several trips to the store late at night," you told the camera. When the whim came to you, you were going to please him immediately. "Little Bunny, I need you to please, please let me sleep, and the cravings and sporting activities that you have in my belly leave for the day; you are just like your father, a creature of the night" You bit kit kat causing him to kick one side of your stomach causing a small lump to form, which you pointed out before continuing "That's why your uncles are sure you're going to be an alien"
Jungkook turned off the camera and started eating his Ramen; You hit his hand when He tries to grab one of your takoyaki.
"Oh, please, you have four. Are you sure you're going to eat them all?" You nodded as you put one of the balls in your mouth.
"You know where I got them, you can go buy a pair for you," you continued eating, feeling like the crab sauce stained your lower lip.
Before you could clean it, Jungkook leaned over and cleaned it for you; your cheeks started to burn when he stayed in that same distance watching your lips. Lately, you were tending many of those moments with Jungkook every little thing he did for you that your heart melted for him. Jisoo said that you were already falling in love with him again, but you never stopped loving him.
°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°
"I don't think it's a good idea for you to touch that." You heard Jungkook's voice warning someone.
After their little trip to the store, You two just returned and were completely knocked out on the couch. You had just wake up, and you were walking to the kitchen to drinking banana milk; your son really was his father's son; since you were four months old, you have needed to drink banana milk every single morning; your doctor said that it was not very healthy for you, because of the amount of sugar, you didn't care because if you didn't drink that milk, you would get grumpy.
What you didn't expect so early in the day was to see the feeling of betrayal and horror with your own eyes. And more with Jungkook wasn't doing anything to prevent it, you watched as if in slow motion as Jimin and Taehyung ate separately what you considered a very nutritious breakfast.
Jungkook was the first to notice your presence in the kitchen. "I warned them; I told them it was a very bad idea."
Your precious Bagels and Doritos cool ranch that Jungkook had got you in America were in their hands.
"(Y/N) -ah, it's just food we'll buy you more" Taehyung continued eating your Cool Ranch Doritos as if nothing of that was affecting you; at least Jimin stopped eating the bagels, and He dedicates you a worried look.
The Bagels didn't worry you so much because you could go to any bakery and you were going to find them, but those Doritos, those Doritos specifically, were extremely difficult to get in Korea, and Jungkook had been good enough-after you threatened him not to return to Korea if he doesn't bring them – to bring you three big bags.
"You have 3 seconds to run before I rip your eyes, Kim Taehyung" he gave a mocking look, clearly not taking in your words.
"Run while you can, Hyung," Jungkook told him, but Taehyung thought it was a game.
Kim Taehyung, I'm going to teach you never to touch a pregnant woman's food. You ran at full speedwell, the speed that the gigantic belly would allow you - I'm going to kill you "let me put my hands on you, I'll kill you."
He ran faster and left the kitchen in the direction of the door; you managed to corner him in a chair near the door, where you started hitting him with your small, plump hands thanks to pregnancy, you hit him on all sides that your hands reach He was going to learn his lesson today.
"Jagi, I think he already learned his lesson" Jungkook's voice distracted you; Taehyung took the opportunity and escaped your grip to hide behind Jimin, as if Jimin were stopping you, he would be the first to run away from you. "At least he was not the one who finished the last banana milk."
"What did you just say?"
"Hobi Hyung took the last one before going to the studio," Jimin explained to you, a little nervous.
"And none of you stopped him?" You asked them, stunned, "Does not Jin feed you guys?
This was not possible, you went to the trio, and each hit them in the head, you were going to go to the boys' dorm, and you were going to wait patiently for Hoseok to come back from his studio to teach him why he shouldn't get into the cravings of a pregnant woman.

THAILAND 2019 - Day Four {Bangkok}
All too soon, it was our final day in Bangkok! We originally thought we were landing just after midnight on the 7th, giving us another full day there, but we got so confused because of the 14-hour time difference. We actually didn’t land until after midnight on the 8th, so our time got cut a little shorter than we had planned for. But we tried our best to fit everything in that we could in the time we had.
We really wanted to go see the famous floating market of Bangkok. After a little research a lot too late, we realized that the famous one is actually 100 km away, and that you need to book a super early morning tour to get there. So we decided that wasn’t going to happen. If we’d had a third day in the city, we would have made it happen, but it just didn’t work out this time. Guess we had to save a reason to come back someday!(; No, but really, it’s so rough how you can never actually accomplish everything you want in a place.
But we still wanted to see a floating market, so we went to a small one not far from the city called Taling Chan. We took a taxi, which our hotel could conveniently call for us, out there. When we got there, we first walked through a whole authentic Thai street market. The smells in there were almost enough to knock me out - fish, BO, and DURIAN (Side story I missed from yesterday: We were leaving the ferry ride, and we walked past a soft serve ice cream place serving something that looked like Dole Whip. It was advertised as Durian ice cream, which is a Thai fruit. It looked delicious, so we tried it. WELL GUESS WHAT IT’S NASTY. And now I’m triggered by the slightest whiff.) I was a little nauseous. But we made it through, and down to the river, where we could see some cute little boats selling various fruits, handmade crafts, and other things. We tried to pay for a boat to float through the market, but apparently that’s something you can do only early in the morning. Our research led us to believe you could do it at anytime, so that was disappointing. So, next time I’m in Bangkok, you better believe this is my priority!
After that disappointment, we were already melting. I can’t explain just how freaking hot and humid it is here. We stopped in a little cafe to cool down, and while I got a very gross sandwich, I also got a DELIGHTFUL strawberry-banana smoothie. This trip, we can’t seem to get enough smoothies and ice cream cones.
We figured that since we had basically the whole day ahead of us, we might as well make the stop at the Grand Palace/Temple of the Emerald Buddha. I’d had the sense to have us bring our modest clothes with us just in case there was time, which may have been the first wise choice I’d made the whole trip. (; So we took a taxi back to the downtown area.
When we got out, a Thai guy approached us and talked to us for awhile about where we were from, and his job at the government offices. Then he asked us where we were going, and we told him the Grand Palace. He told us it would be closed until 2 PM, but in the meantime, he could call us a taxi to take us to the floating flower market. We were excited, and he said they had a deal today for the end of the Chinese New Year celebration, and we could take a boat to the floating market for cheaper. We wanted to see a floating market by boat anyway, so that sounded good to us! Especially if we had time to kill because the Grand Palace wasn’t open yet anyway.
The taxi took us to the dock, and it was then we realized that it was for the same freaking tour we had taken on the boat involuntarily the day before. We knew it didn’t go to any floating market, and we were not about to pay $50 more to do the lackluster tour again.
So, we turned around and headed back to the Grand Palace. We were still melting, and we happened upon a Baskin Robbins! So we went in for some ice cream, and to cool down again. (I seriously can’t emphasize enough how much we were sweating and overheating walking around this place.)
When we left, we noticed a sign warning travelers of a scam. It said, basically:
1) Don’t trust a Thai who approaches you solo in a tourist area.
2) Don’t believe anyone who tells you your destinations are closed.
So BASICALLY, we realized that yesterday, when we let the guy tell us all the temples were closed and sent us to the boat ride, and today, when the other guy tried to do the same, IT WAS A SCAM. No WONDER the boat tour was pointless and not what they promised. They’re just out sucking money from poor, unsuspecting tourists. We had never heard of this kind of scheme, and so we didn’t know what to be prepared for. Now we know better, $45, and like $0.20 too late though. STUPID THAI SCAM.
So yeah, the Grand Palace was definitely not closed. Not at all the whole time. And none of the temples yesterday were closed either. We just had no idea.
So we went over there! We put our long pants on, which were black leggings that we knew would be so hot, and tried to go in. The guards stopped us and pointed to our pants. We were confused, because they went to our ankles, but the guy eventually told us they were too tight. You’ve GOT to be kidding me. Meanwhile, they are letting men in who are wearing shorts that showed their knees. And the guards were super condescending and rude, which only made us more mad. So they forced us out. We walked across the street and had to buy a long skirt for like $3, which isn’t that big of a deal, but it was the principal of the thing. So stupid.
Once we got in, there were PLENTY of people in leggings, shorts, and tank tops. The guards just really singled us out for some reason. The whole thing felt pretty sexist too, since they were so focused on women not showing their knees, but men got off doing whatever they wanted. We weren’t happy.
We walked around the Grand Palace for awhile, appreciating the gorgeous colors and intricate gold detailing put into all the buildings. We went and saw the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, and Buddha was so little in this one compared to the others we’ve seen, but it was still beautiful. This was probably the most crowded place we went in Bangkok. There were insane amounts of people! But it was gorgeous, so it’s understandable.
Now that we were in the long skirts/sleeved outfits, the heat was becoming unbearable. We decided to call it a day after leaving the Palace, having accomplished nearly everything on our Bangkok list (rip floating market). We took a taxi to the nearest Subway station, and rode it back to the stop by our hotel to avoid the terrible traffic.
Once we got there, we ate at the food court in the station, including chicken nuggets from A&W, some plain ramen I ordered from Ramen Boy (And BTW, getting the guy to understand I wanted it PLAIN with no toppings was so difficult. The language barrier here has been among the hardest we’ve ever dealt with in our travels), and a Dairy Queen vanilla cone.
Then we went back to the hotel, and tried out the gorgeous roof-top pool. It was totally empty, and lovely, but a little cold for my taste haha. Especially because the sun was gone at this point! It would have felt so good while we were at the Palace, but by this time it was just a little chilly... even for Beach. Nice though.
Then we showered, ordered dinner, and just had to pack, repack, pack again! Then off to bed, before an early morning flight.
Chiang Mai, here we come!

Summer for sure! I prefer heat over cold.
141) Night or Day?

main points: - woke up and ate starbucks - pack up and check out of hotel - lunch at pho kim long again - drive to death valley - stop by zabriskie point - check into hotel - drive to mesquite sand dunes - come back to hotel and eat dinner at restaurant in our hotel complex - watch deadpool/john wick on TV at hotel room
today i: - woke up early around 9am. sheena woke up around 9:30am and we decided to go to starbucks for breakfast. i got a spinach feta egg wrap thing and sheena got a bacon egg cheese sandwich thing. we decided not to eat too much cause we’d be going to get lunch soon again. talked to my sister and learned more about eczema briefly
- mom and dad were walking around in the morning/dad went to get the rental car. around 10:40am we checked out of the hotel after packing up all our belongings and getting ready to leave
- left the bellagio and went back to chinatown plaza to get lunch. we stopped by pho kim long but the line looked much longer than yesterday. so we tried to find another good place on the same block but there wasn’t any so we ended up putting our name down again at pho kim long, this time maybe like a 20 minute wait. still super fast. while we waited dad got some water and fruit from 99 ranch market
- we finished eating and then left around 12:45pm. then drove for about an hour and a half getting into the death valley area around 2:30pm. dad was driving really fast so we were able to shave off 30 minutes (it would’ve been 2 hours). we just chilled on the car, taking some cool pictures of the mountains on the way. sheena fell asleep on the car. we talked a bit about skin care and the dermatologist/moles, living out in the desert in nevada. mom and dad’s previous experience coming out to death valley when i was 3 or 4 years old
- as we got closer towards the hotel, we stopped by zabriskie point around 2:45pm, which was on the way. it was really cool seeing the hills. they were really wavy. my dad said they looked almost like crepes, and they did in a way. we also hiked on a very small and short trail and took some pics
- checked into our hotel (ranch at death valley) and dropped off our stuff and then drove up 30 miles towards mesquite sand dunes. once we got there we hiked around the area for a bit. it was a really nice sunset around 4:30pm. the sand was also incredibly soft. so soft that sheena just kept playing with it as if it were water. then digging it up as if she were a dog LOL. it was funny to see. mom and dad compared it with how it was 20 years ago. there were very few people in the area, and now the whole place is tourist-ified with a parking lot and tons of people around the area. the sand used to be really smooth and untouched but now there are footprints everywhere
- we drove back to our hotel to eat. we tried to go to the restaurant but the wait was 45 minutes, and the buffet was $30 for a really small amount of food. so we put our name down for the restaurant and went back to our hotel room to wait. mom decided to heat up water using a keurig and then heat up a ramen bowl carton thing. dad sheena and i went back to the restaurant around 6:30pm. then had to wait an additional 15-20 minutes before getting seated at like 7pm. i got a quesadilla, a trout + bread. sheena got pork loin and dad got rib eye. the quesadilla was AMAZING omg. and so was the trout. the rib eye was okay… and sheena seemed to enjoy the pork loin. we shared the quesadilla and trout + bread so i didn’t have to eat all of it by myself. then to top it all off, apple pie + ice cream for desert, which was also delicious
- we got back to our hotel room around 8:30pm and just kind of chilled for the rest of the night. dead pool was playing on FX so i watched that while googling symptoms i’ve noticed. mostly about a bump near anus area but it’s a bump that only shows up when i sit down and goes away when i stand. dad also went out in the back yard to take a look at the night sky. there was some light pollution from the hotel and the moon was a full moon so it was really bright. but there were still a decent amount of stars in the sky. dad also used binoculars to see the craters on the moon and let me see it. it was super cool to see the craters
- took a shower, now i’m typing up yesterday and today’s blog posts in Bear because the internet/wifi is so slow out here in death valley. while i’m typing these two posts i saw john wick was on (like the last 30 minutes) so i put that on. also took a quick shower. one of my moles is itchy on my back neck so i got paranoid and did some more googling about that, but it doesn’t seem to be too much of an issue. as long as i can confirm my dermatologist appointment and see him and ask him to take a closer look
it’s 11:22pm now. mom went to bed at like 8:30pm when we got back from dinner LOL. dad and sheena went to bed at like 10:30pm. now i’mma probably crash too. night crawler’s playing right now on the TV but i feel like it’ll go way too late with commercials and such
okay good night
the end

What is a fruit that you might eat in the morning? I, personally, haven’t had any fruit in quite awhile. :X I used to have a banana sometimes in the morning, though. Cutting it up and putting it on bread with peanut butter was also good, as well as in oatmeal.

What is a green vegetable that you enjoy eating? Spinach.
Name something you might find in a salad. Hard boiled eggs. What is your favorite type of sandwich? Turkey and salami with either Monterey Jack, sharp cheddar, or Colby Jack cheese, mayo, and spinach or bologna and either of those cheeses with mayo. A pickle on the side is good as well as some olive oil for dipping. If I get a sandwich from a deli, I like to add a sandwich spread of some kind.
Which condiment do you use the most often? Ranch. Name a chocolate bar that you enjoy eating. White chocolate bars.
What is a meat that you do not eat - ever. Anything other than beef, chicken, turkey, or pork.

FOOD SURVEY
1. What’s the last thing you ate? I had a Whopper Jr. from Burger King. It wasn’t big enough to satisfy my hunger though so I’m still hungry. D: 2. What’s your favourite cheese? Ricotta, even though I’ve only had it once. That one time converted me forever. 3. What’s your favourite fish? Tilapia, eel, and tuna.
4. What’s your favourite fruit? I don’t do fruits. 5. When, if ever, did you start liking olives? Nooooo I never liked olives.
6. When, if ever, did you start liking beer? I hate fizzy drinks in general so I never got the hang of beer. Plus beer burps are the worst. 7. When, if ever, did you start liking shellfish? I guess when my palate started expanding by the time I was around 13. I was a picky eater before then and used to eat the same things over and over. Then I got older and suddenly I eat everything hahaha. 8. What was the best thing your mum/dad/guardian used to make? My mom doesn’t really have a signature dish, but my dad makes the best chicken wings, curry, and risotto. Perks of having a chef has a dad :) 9. What’s the native specialty of your hometown? If I did that I would end up with an entire fucking book. Philippines in general has a wide variety of native dishes like sinigang, dinuguan, sisig, lechon, etc., and then you have your regions which may have their own specialties going on, and on an even smaller scale, there are provinces in those regions that have native dishes. One never runs out of options in this country. 10. What’s your comfort food? The duo of instant noodles with hard boiled eggs never fails me. 11. What’s your favourite type of chocolate? Milk or white. 12. How do you like your steak? Rare or medium-rare. 13. How do you like your burger? Medium.
14. How do you like your eggs? Scrambled, sunny side up, or over easy.
15. How do you like your potatoes? Baked even though I seldom get the chance to have them as such.  16. How do you take your coffee? I’m terrible with ratios so I never make mine from scratch. My usual is a caramel macchiato, 10 out of 10 times from Starbucks. 17. How do you take your tea? Meh I don’t normally have it but if it’s the only thing being served, I want it iced and lemonade flavored. 18. What’s your favourite mug? I don’t have my own since I’d barely have use for one, but I already love the black ones we have in the kitchen. They look super classy and want the same for my own apartment in the future. 19. What’s your biscuit or cookie of choice? Chocolate chip, and one that isn’t baked all the way through. It probably sounds weird but the more gooey the better D: 20. What’s your ideal breakfast? Scrambled eggs and bacon is fine. On my ~fancier days~ a bagel with salmon sounds good, too. 21. What’s your ideal sandwich? I never have sandwiches so I dunno what my ideal combination would be like. All I know is I want it to be showered in mayo. 22. What’s your ideal pizza: I want ten cheese pizza to be a thing. Mozzarella stuffed crust is never a bad idea as well. 23. What’s your ideal pie (sweet or savoury)? Erm...pizza pie? Apart from that I never really have any other kind of pie. 24. What’s your ideal salad? Spicy tuna salad aaaaahhhhhhhh I’ve been craving forever. 25. What food do you always like to have in the fridge? Ice cream. Leftovers from restaurants. HAHAHAHA 26. What food do you always like to have in the freezer? Oh, oops. Didn’t realize fridge and freezer were regarded differently. I always want ice cream in the ref though, that’s for sure. 27. What food do you always like to have in the cupboard? Korean instant noodles ideally, but they can be so expensive :-( 28. What spices can you not live without? Agh don’t get too technical, I can’t cook hahaha I know I love cumin though! 29. What sauces can you not live without? Honey mustard is a must. Idk if mayonnaise counts but I can live on that for the rest of my life. 30. Where do you buy most of your food? Whatever grocery my mom happens to be in. 31. How often do you go food shopping? Every two weeks I think. I’m not too sure though; my mom is in charge of that and sometimes I don’t even notice if she’s done her grocery shopping. 33. What’s the most expensive piece of kitchen equipment you own? Dunno. You’d have to go to my parents to find out. Probably the refrigerator though? 34. What’s the last piece of equipment you bought for your kitchen? I think we got a new pan or something. 35. What piece of kitchen equipment could you not live without? All of them, I don’t cook kdjsfkjshff. 36. How many times a week/month do you cook from raw ingredients? 37. What’s the last thing you cooked from raw ingredients? 38. What meats have you eaten besides cow, pig and poultry? Buffalo and lamb. 39. What’s the last time you ate something that had fallen on the floor? Two weeks ago. What are the best dining experiences you’ve had in that city? JAPAN. I only spent a few hours in the country so I had to make it count. We eventually ended up in this sushi place and I was blessed with the best sushi and sashimi platter I’ve ever had in my entire life. We were in Japan itself so it felt so authentic and so so raw. It was so good. I finished it in minutes.   48. What’s your choice of tipple at the end of a long day? Had to look this up and it’s apparently an alcoholic drink? Welp I’m biased to Baileys hahaha but red wine isn’t such a bad idea now, especially after my girlfriend and her mom converted me into liking it. 49. What’s the next thing you’ll eat? That burger didn’t satisfy my stomach AT ALL so I feel like after this survey I’d fix myself up a bowl of cheesy ramen noodles. 50. Are you hungry now? Yes, all thanks to this survey. 51. Do you eat your breakfast everyday? No I never do these days. At what time do you have lunch? 'Lunch’ starts at 10 for me since I’m usually hungry after skipping breakfast. 54. What do you have for lunch? How many chairs are there in your dining room and who sits in the main chair? Six.
