It is Missouri's Public Attorney General, Andrew Bailey, who fought the court order to release Christopher Dunn and who has also been fighting other cases in which there is considerable effort to release wrongfully convicted persons.
General Andrew Bailey is up for reelection in the August 6th primary in what is an apparently highly competitive race, so if you can vote against him, please do. It's thought that his reason for meddling in these types of cases is to show republican conservatives that he's tough on crime in order to get his name out among that crowd and secure reelection.
It's important to mention that not only is General Andrew Bailey fighting cases to keep incarnated persons in jail, he's also fighting against the release of death row inmate Marcellus Wlliams, who is otherwise scheduled to be executed September 24.
It's not really Bailey's position to fight these claims, especially when there's substantial evidence to suggest these people are innocent, and additionally, any person who uses the lives of others in an attempt to secure their own position should not be allowed access to power in the first place.
As for Christopher Dunn, "Under the state Supreme Court order, [Judge] Sengheiser [who is pushing for Dunn's release] has until 5 p.m. Friday to file suggestions in opposition to Bailey’s motion for the stay and Bailey has until 5 p.m Monday to file suggestions in reply," according to NBC news (x).
Let's get Missouri's Public Attorney General Andrew Bailey out of office.

More than 30 years in prison for a crime there was no evidence he committed. He was only 18. Now republican AG is refusing to allow his overturned sentence be implemented.
Don't stop talking about Christopher Dunn until he is released.

Soooo... My mother is dying of cancer. (This is not a request for sympathy; it is a statement of fact.) She has a terminal diagnosis. At this point, anything that she does is going to be palliative not curative.
My mother's stated goal is to survive until at least November 10th. This is because not only does she want to make it to the 5th and be able to vote legally, but she wants to stay alive long enough to make it through the counting process so that there is no challenge that her vote counts.
My mother is undergoing radiation and other therapies to make this possible. She is not doing it for me or for the other members of her family. She is doing it so that her vote counts. Voting matters so much to her that she is willing to undergo expensive and debilitating treatments to be able to vote and have her vote count.
Voting matters.
The area I live in has had several local races be decided by less than 10 votes. One state house seat was even decided by one vote.
If your vote didn't matter, people would not be trying to suppress it. They wouldn't be making laws to make it harder to vote.
Not voting is not a form of protest, it is sign of submission. It is a sign of complacency. And political parties count on the electorate being complacent to keep their power. They count on people being too lazy or too inconvenienced to bother to vote.
Register to vote, make a plan to vote, check to make sure that you are still registered and that you haven't been purged from the voter rolls, make sure you have whatever form of ID you need or have the ability to vote by mail. Jump through the necessary hoops and help others get through them too. Voting matters.
Block any account that tells you not to vote.
You don’t need to waste your time investigating whether they are a bot or a psy-op or a misinformed rube. It doesn’t matter. Either way, they add no value to your dashboard. Block and move on.
Then make a plan for Tuesday, November 5, 2024. Register, confirm you’re still registered, check your voting location or register to vote absentee or by mail.

Headlines across eight years. Who you vote for really does matter. None of these headlines delve into the Boar's Head listeria outbreak because I can only post ten photos in one post. But the slaughter house self regulate headline? Yup, that's why.

My approach to voting is my same as my approach to tagging graffiti.
Why would I do that? It won't matter right?
But then hey, what if it did one time? Why should I let pessimism block my creativity? Why shouldn't I leave a saturated mark upon the world with my imprint? If you ever left a graffiti tag, you've voted in some way. Voting is the same as graffiti, you leave your mark on something, in hopes that some reality somewhere that it would leave a positive change for the better somehow...and if everyone did that we would have a more vibrant would absolutely

from one chronically anxious person to another: the world is not going to go up in flames. What happens will be more slow, more bureaucratic, more boring. There is no catastrophe to end all catastrophes, no rapture, no sudden end. You can't give into the call of the void, because there is no void. So you just have to do the work to make tomorrow a better place, anyway. Because that's how it gets better.

Walz is a former school teacher, served in the army, and was very pro-active in getting progressive stuff passed in his legislature. Besides codifying abortion/IVF rights, see this list of his accomplishments. A solid pick.
