AITA for sleeping with my fwb the day after my first date with my now-husband and not ever telling my husband?
I (24F) started dating my husband (27M) in january 2018 when i was 19F and he was 22M. Obvs things went very well and we just got married in june 2023.
However ... I have never told him about what happened the night after our first date.
Basically from july of 2017 until january of 2018 i had a guy i met on tinder who i was fwb with. I wanted to be more during the summer and was honest abt it, and he didnt feel the same. We stopped talking bc i was really upset.
However, a couple weeks later he texted me to come over and i did. 💀 we started our thing again and i didnt tell my friends. We were casual for another couple months, didnt use condoms and i found a used condom in his bed so i know he was fucking other girls, but he was starting to tell me personal stuff and be silly with me and we had a low-stakes halloween date where we watched his fav halloween movies n cuddled. I still had feelings for him at this point.
A couple weeks later (nov) after sex he said he really liked being able to have a woman in his bed any time he wanted. Idk why this was the breaking point, but a switch flipped in my head and I was disgusted with him and slowly became not romantically interested anymore.
Once i had truly embraced our fwb arrangement i was starting to get pretty bored of him. I didnt stay the nights anymore, i made up excuses sometimes when he asked me to come over, etc. I was really just in it to have sex. And he seemed to start getting clingier and acting like he was actually into me. He'd ask if i was ok, he wanted to do activities with me etc
Then comes january when i made my first date with my now-husband. We went out on the saturday night and had a lot of fun! We talked and laughed for a couple hours. We exchanged #s at the end of the night and he looked like he really wanted to kiss me but he didnt do it.
When i texted B (my husband) the next day (Sunday) he didnt respond. Being 19 and very insecure, i took his lack of physicality during our date and unresponsiveness to texts to mean he wasnt interested. I had a pre-arranged dick appt with K (my fwb) for sunday and i went to it and had sex with him. I felt nothing and left soon after we were done.
B ended up texting me a few days later from a different number, and it turned out that he had given me the wrong phone number by mistake on our first date. We scheduled another date and during my second date with B i texted K that i didnt want to see him anymore bc i was seeing someone else now.
AITA for never telling my husband i slept with K the night after our first date? This question has been eating at me for years lmao
What are these acronyms?

A majority of Asian Americans living in New York City have altered aspects of their lives to prevent being the target of an anti-Asian incident, according to a new study released Thursday.
Three-quarters of Asian Americans in the city have adopted at least one “avoidance behavior,” which includes not taking public transit or speaking in their native tongue, the survey, conducted by nonprofit The Asian American Foundation, found. Younger Asian Americans tended to be more likely to say they adapted their behavior.
“Younger Asian Americans — many have grown up here in the U.S. — have the language and the cultural skills to adapt and become ‘more mainstream.’ It’s what they feel like they need to do to avoid bullying in schools and other attacks,” said Norman Chen, the organization’s CEO. “In the short term, maybe that’s saving them from potential violence and attacks, but in the long run, reducing who they are. We need to find better solutions.”
For the study, TAAF researchers surveyed 1,000 NYC-based Asian Americans, ages 16 and up, on the subject of public safety between Nov. 30 and Dec. 19, 2023. The surveys were conducted over the phone and online in English, Chinese, Korean and Bangla.
Researchers found that during the time period, 36% of respondents feared being verbally or physically attacked due to their race, and 48% avoided going out late at night, with an even higher percentage of women reporting they do so. Forty-one percent of Asian American New Yorkers also refrained from taking public transit.
“That has a huge effect on people’s mental health, on their livelihood and on their work,” Chen said. “It’s something very concerning.”
The report also found that 17% of Asian Americans in New York City said they refrained from speaking their native tongue in public.
“The fact we have to … be on guard all the time when we’re outside and hide our culture, hide our identity, and not speak the language that we perhaps want to speak — that’s a real step backwards for us in our community,” Chen said.
According to the survey, public safety is the top issue for Asian American New Yorkers, with 78% of respondents saying it was either a “major problem” or “somewhat of a problem.” When asked about their experiences with anti-Asian hate incidents — defined as insults, harassments, threats or a physical attack — about half of survey respondents said they were targeted in 2023 due to their race or ethnicity. And 1 in 5 reported experiencing physical attacks or assaults in that year. However, this includes attacks that were not necessarily reported crimes.
“The fact that people may perceive that this crisis has diminished really minimizes the truth that there’s just still rampant levels of anti-Asian hatred and violence still going on in the city,” Chen said.
The TAAF report shows a departure from the dramatic downward trend seen in crime data against Asian Americans collected by the New York Police Department. In 2022, according to NYPD data, there were 82 hate crimes targeting Asian Americans, and the next year, the number decreased by almost half, at 45.
Sruthi Chandrasekaran, director of data & research at TAAF, said the disparities are likely due, in part, to the way in which the NYPD records crimes — which unlike incidents, require a high threshold to meet. The study may also have featured higher numbers because it was conducted in several languages, accessing more harder-to-reach populations like older New Yorkers, immigrants and first generation Asian Americans, she said.
Additionally, many Asian Americans feel uncomfortable with reporting their experiences, Chandrasekaran said, noting that 54% of respondents did not report to “anyone at all.”
“Asian Americans may also feel that what is happening to them is an isolated incident — they may have felt more of an impetus to report during COVID because they were seeing and hearing and experiencing anti-Asian hate directed at them and others in their community,” Chandrasekaran said in an email. “With time, this issue has gotten less attention, which may lead people, including Asian Americans themselves, to think it is an isolated incident and may not warrant reporting.”

Feu's November 2022 BL/GL Wrap-Up
A little monthly wrap-up of all the shows I’ve watched or am watching in November 2022, general thoughts, and ranking of them all.

History 3: Make Our Days Count = Love In The Air Special
MDL Updates - Added to Watchlist:
A section because I’m curious about how many shows I decide to add to my Watch List a month and also the ratio of watching them:adding them

Sleep With Me
Roommates of Poongduck 304

To Watch List At Start Of Month: 41
To Watch List At End Of Month: 46 (already started GHGH)
Removed from To Watch List:

Watching On-Air
Nothing because I don’t want carry over to 2023 :’)
Completely Watched
Love in the Air
Country: Thailand
Release Dates: Aug 18, 2022 - Nov 10, 2022
Watch Via: Youtube (free)
Watch Dates : Nov 2 - 10, 2022
Rating: 6.5/10
Overall Impression: RainPayu - I thought I’d have to ignore more things than I did lol; a few things happen early on and we can ignore that + the fact that there wasn’t consent/discussion for a brat/tamer dynamic and just enjoy it - still a fun dynamic. Character growth and growing into a relationship is like a fair plot for a BL. Enjoyable but not a fave; don’t think about them at all. PaiSky - They took up much more of my brain space than PayuRain, both in good and bad ways. Pai was shitty in the first few eps of their story (mans is fr a stalker, doesn’t take no ew) but he’s also so good for Pai once he stops with the creepy shit and I have to be like... whelp, if you like him. I watched ep 10 and 11 being like “I shall ignore all of Pai’s questionable behavior and it’s definitely enjoyable that way, I liked ep 10 the best. The show is known for the NC scenes and I enjoyed both pair’s second NC scenes. There were some production issues, like the sound was just shit and the editing for the second half was kinda worse than the first half.

HIStory3: Make Our Days Count
Country: Taiwan
Release Dates: Oct 16, 2019 - Dec 18, 2019
Watch Via: Youtube (free)
Watch Dates : Nov 13 - 17, 2022
Rating: 5.5/10
Overall Impression: in the beginning i was really annoyed by several characters (esp Haoting and Sun Bo) and after I stopped being annoyed, I also stopped caring oof. Don’t think I’ll think about the show or characters ever again. Also am not gonna watch ep 19/20. I liked the occasional scenes of Haoting and his sister; I am lover of sibling relationships.

Watch Dates : Nov 18 - 26, 2022
Rating: 6/10
Overall Impression: It’s a cute show, I was enjoying it but then the GMMTV 2023 showcase happened and I stopped caring about this. It was okay and cute enough but won’t stick with me. The OST is nice though, I like the “slow motion” song

Nov 21: GMMTV 2023 Showcase, it’s like watching a whole show. 2023 GMMTV Showcase Post
Love in the Air: Special Episode
Country: Thailand
Release Dates: Nov 26, 2022
Watch Via: :>
Watch Dates : Nov 27, 2022
Rating: 5.5/10
Overall Impression: holy shit, sound issues. uhh I thought the Daddy thing would be like 1 bleep in the middle of an NC scene but it seems like it’s a Whole Thing rip (Sky laughing and saying “Paw-krap” is cute and endearing though); anyway, skipping most of that scene bc it’s just not for me. lmfao sorry SkyPai’s “Sky playing games on his phone while Pai’s getting handsy and kissy with him” works incredibly well for me (desperate Pai? ignoring? bruh it’s so aksdfl;kjfd) but Sky’s phone screen being completely black was killing me lmfao Also Sky grabbing fistfuls of Pai’s hair gets me every time. Pai, girl, why did you jump up like that when Sky came into the restaurant but I’ll forgive it because I like when Sky gives Pai forehead kisses. It’s not really cute that two best friends have apparently forgotten how to just have fun with each other and be without their bfs but whatever ig. I really like the way Sky and Pai play like first Sky ignoring Pai during foreplay and now Sky making Pai not touch or do anything and Pai being eager puppy in both situations lmfao Pai’s “Sometimes I’ve got a feeling that you’re mean.” exactly, so true i love dom sky with a mean streak and wish to see fort play a younger seme once again. A little marriage equality PSA. Anyway, as expected form the TharnType and Don’t Say No specials, nothing really happened but I had fun with the SkyPai NC scene dynamics. Also I don’t rmr when (maybe when Sky brought food to the office?) but in the special and also in the series, Pai would coo and hum at Sky sometimes and it’s seriously the best
tags: love in the air
Finally posted the KhaoFirst Content Index post lol months later
Dang, I hardly watched anything this month because aside from watching LITA for like 10 + 1 days and not watching anything for 4 days because of GMMTV, I’ve been meh about actually watching things and being engaged. So many days where I didn’t watch even an ep.
Currently watching Ghost Host, Ghost House as the last BL before I embark on my 2 week rewatch journey of stuff I enjoyed in 2022.

I Don't Love You | (SVT Woozi × You)
M A I N | O N E S H O T S | S M U T | S C E N A R I O S
---------------------
Status: Complete Post Date: Nov. 19, 2024 Pairings: SVT Woozi x You Genre: One Shot, Angst, Romance, Slice of Life Word Count: 1k Themes: Growth, Friendship, Meaning of Love, Rejection
Note: This is a work of fanfiction based on real people. Please respect the real Lee Jihoon (Seventeen Woozi)
Synopsis:
If English had another word for different types of love, then maybe you won't hate this one.
You disappeared, and Jihoon came to realize the truth of your absence. He writes his thoughts of you in his journal in hopes that one day he may speak to you once again.
Dec. 17 20xx
You don't love him.
Oh, so, that's what I was told. I wanted to believe there was something going on between the two of you, but you didn't say anything.
Maybe it's because he was my best friend and you didn't want to tell me the truth.
But deep down, I really did wish you would have told me.
He was in love with you, and you knew it. But he wasn't the only one who always thought of you...
Sometimes, I wonder how you're doing.
Do you check the voicemails I leave in your box? Do you see the number of times I texted you and the missed calls?
Do you hear how my voice calls out to you? Or how my messages become one-sided conversations in hopes that at some point you would finally respond?
There was a time when you and I did message each other, but when he came to the picture, things changed.
You became careful and cautious as if you were walking around broken glass.
Your voice that once boomed with life because quiet. And worst of all, your laughter that carried through the wind halted.
You became fearful of him.
Fearful of being loved by someone you didn't like.
But even before that.
Before this grand scheme of things that led to this lost feeling, I still thought of you.
Before he pursued you.
Before he would do everything he could to get your attention.
Your eyes never met his, but you would look to mine.
I didn't know it back then, and even now, I wonder if you were looking for solace. Looking for someone that you knew you could depend upon without worry.
He was my best friend, though. How could I do that to him?
How could I choose a girl over our friendship?
Yet, it still feels like no matter what I did or would have done would change anything.
I still lost. I still couldn't make both of you happy.
I couldn't make myself happy.
So why...
Why did you have to disappear?
Why couldn't you just accept him so I could watch you in the distance?
He wanted to walk you through the rain even when you denied his offer. He chased after you when you forgot your phone.
He would do all these acts of service in hopes that you could recognize his efforts.
He would talk about you so much. It was like I was there to witness it all.
But he only told me his side of the story.
I should have asked you how you felt.
But even so, would you have been honest with me?
I had a feeling you weren't happy. I had a feeling you didn't want to be near him.
But I didn't do anything about it.
Was I being a good friend trying to support him? Or was I just being a pathetic coward not speaking up for you?
I can't tell.
It seems all the same to me the more I think about it.
I was being an ignorant fool.
It was obvious, but I kept denying it for his sake.
I knew you didn't like him.
Even after I heard you set your boundaries, he still crossed them. He crossed each and every one of them.
Never once did I hear him say he made you happy.
Never once did I hear him say that you were glad he was there.
Everything he said was on how he felt.
And of course, I was rooting for him...
I was rooting for him because I thought that was for the best.
So why. Why does he now tell me the whole thing?
He called me last night, and I had to pick him up from the bar.
He was drunk and kept talking about you. How you rejected him more times than he could keep count.
Yet, he still pursued you.
He thought he could change your view.
I wanted to pity him, but I couldn't. Instead, I pitied you.
I pitied the fact that you had to deal with his antics and his foolish behavior.
Deep down, I knew that it would never work.
I knew you wouldn't love him.
But, I needed to hear it from you. I needed to hear those words directly from you.
I needed to be sure that you wouldn't ever love him.
Tell me...
Would it be selfish of me to admit that I liked you?
To admit that after you broke his heart, I would be able to speak to you without worrying about him?
It's cruel the more I think about it, but I missed the version of you before he came along.
I missed your presence. I missed your voice and your laughter. I missed it when you were still you.
But I would never do what he did.
I would never say what he said.
I'd do the opposite because I wouldn't want you to hate me.
I don't love you.
I would say that because I care more about you than how I feel.
I don't love you like a fool who would do things blindlessly.
But, I also don't love you without care.
Everything I want to say and everything that I want to do is done because I worry about you.
I want to stay by your side, but I don't want you to fall in love with anyone.
I don't want to tell you how I feel.
I would rather be ignorant than get an answer from you.
Even if it doesn't help, at least I can say I put your feelings first before mine. Your peace meant more to me than the overbearing chaos that was running through my head.
So, I don't love you.
No.
I couldn't love you.
For your sake, at least.
So come back. Come back and talk to me.
Let me know if you're well. Let me know how you're doing during all of this.
Let me know so we can stay friends. Stay in each other's lives.
Because I don't love you.
I don't love you.
I'll repeat it over and over again until you understand that this isn't love.
This isn't the love you hate.
No.
I don't love you.

Personal Device Bans in Schools and the Consequences
Joshua Elliott, EdD
Associate Dean
Director of Educational Technology
Assistant Professor of the Practice
I remember the introduction of calculators in the classroom. Well, I thought I remembered it. I looked it up and apparently the use of calculators started in the mid 70’s, before I would have been at the grade level when calculators were used. The arguments used for keeping calculators recycle over time as other new technologies are introduced, such as computers, the internet, smart phones, and artificial intelligence. The last two of these, smartphones and artificial intelligence, are currently two of the biggest issues in educational technology.
Smartphones (and other personal devices) are a bit unique because they represent a concern that has resurfaced. When introduced, smartphones were largely seen as a distraction, but this started to change with Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policies. Educators started to harness student devices as a resource. Students were allowed to use their devices in class as part of their learning—for research, access to educational apps or websites, and product creation like videos, to name a few. When used correctly, students could learn how to use their personal devices responsibly and as a productive tool.
BYOD also allowed for device access in school districts where there was not enough money for one-to-one device programs. When the world went into lockdown during the Covid-19 pandemic, supplemental funds were allocated to provide devices and wifi access for as many students as possible, so learning could continue even with everyone stuck in their homes. The pendulum is swinging the other way now that we are back in the physical classroom.
Some legislators are arguing that personal devices only serve as a distraction, and that most students have school-provided devices anyway, however, there are considerations with this thought process. The first, is that school-provided devices like laptops and Chromebooks require funding for upkeep and replacement over time. These devices were purchased using emergency funds and money for upkeep is not always guaranteed. Many school districts with limited funds are likely to face challenges as their devices eventually become outdated or break, if they haven't already encountered these issues. This brings us back to a digital device divide issue, where some districts have devices for students and some do not. Legislation mandating all-encompassing device policies for school districts could exacerbate this issue, as each district has its own unique needs.
The other issue is that we may be able to eliminate device access during the school day, but we will never be able to eliminate device access permanently (nor should we). It is important for children to learn how to responsibly use technology, and this can be effectively taught during the school day. As educators, it is not our job to just teach content knowledge and academics. It is also our responsibility to teach students about character and digital citizenship. By prohibiting devices in the classroom, we are missing opportunities to teach our students important skills like responsible use or how to use a device productively rather than only as a consumer. Responsible use skills also include knowing when it is time to take a break and put the device away.
Are you interested in the latest trends in educational technology, or how educators are successfully using technology in the classroom? Fairfield University’s School of Education and Human Development (SEHD) will host an Educational Technology Forum for educators on Friday, Nov. 1, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Dolan School of Business Event Hall. One of MIT’s best-kept secrets lives in the Institute’s basement
New Post has been published on https://sunalei.org/news/one-of-mits-best-kept-secrets-lives-in-the-institutes-basement/
One of MIT’s best-kept secrets lives in the Institute’s basement
When MIT’s Walker Memorial (Building 50) was constructed in 1916, it was among the first buildings located on the Institute’s then-new Cambridge campus. At the time, national headlines would have heralded Gideon Sundback’s invention of the modern zipper, the first transcontinental phone call by Alexander Graham Bell, and Charles Fahbry’s discovery of the ozone layer. It would be another 12 years before the invention of sliced bread, and, importantly, four years before the first U.S.-licensed commercial radio station would go on the air.
In true MIT fashion, the past, present, and future of Building 50 seem to coexist within its hallways. Today, the basement of Walker Memorial is home to what some students consider to be one of the Institute’s best-kept secrets — something that likely never crossed the minds of its original architects: a 24-hour, high-fidelity radio station.
Operating under the call sign WMBR 88.1 FM (for “Walker Memorial Basement Radio”), this all-volunteer troupe has endured many hurdles similar to those faced by others in the field as radio itself has largely changed over the years. But as general managers James Rock and Maggie Lin will tell you, there’s something special about this station’s ability to build deeper connections within the larger community.
“Students have the opportunity to get to know a bunch of our community members,” explains Rock. “Our tech director works closely with every student who wants to contribute, which involves anything from manning a drill to climbing to the roof of Walker and manually bending the antenna back into shape, which I did a couple of weeks ago,” laughs Rock. “Most of our student members are trained by someone who’s been around and really knows what they’re doing with radio after decades of experience.”
“It’s really fun,” says Lin. “It’s being able to hang out with people who love music just as much as you do. The older members of the station are such a cool resource for talking about different kinds of music.”
Now sophomores, Rock and Lin first arrived at MIT and WMBR two years ago. At the time, the station was mitigating the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, during which WMBR went off the air temporarily. “We’ve been general managers since last spring, so the majority of our time at the station has been managing the station,” explains Lin. “We just came at a time when the station didn’t have many student members because of Covid.”
Lin recalls stories from disc jockeys who were at the station the night in 2020 when WMBR went off the air: “I’m told it was extremely sudden. There was someone here who said they finished their show and left a tote bag of records for the next time they were going to come back, and they left … and they still haven’t [returned].”
However, resilience is a trait that WMBR has displayed in abundance throughout its storied 80-year history. First signing on as WMIT on Nov. 25, 1946, the station’s original equipment was built from the ground up by MIT electrical engineering students. In 1956, when the station’s call letters were licensed to a radio station in North Carolina, the Cambridge-based station became WTBS. And when the station was in dire need of cash for new equipment in the 1970s, its members found a creative solution: an agreement with media mogul Ted Turner to exchange the call letters WTBS for $50,000. This afforded the station the new equipment it dearly needed and allowed Turner to launch the Turner Broadcasting System. The station subsequently became WMBR on Nov. 10, 1979.
So it’s no surprise how station members responded to the challenges posed by Covid. “The tech team pulled off something kind of crazy when they set that up,” says Lin. “Within weeks, they set up a system where people could upload files of shows they recorded from home, and then it would be broadcast live.”
“Sticking to the hybrid system means that especially new members have the flexibility to start out recording from home,” adds Rock. “That’s what Maggie and I did. It means if you’re scared, a little jumpy, or stutter as you speak, you can go back and edit.”
The station also expanded its slate of new content in the years following the pandemic. “I think the most lasting effect of Covid is that we are now 24/7,” says Rock. “Most of the time it’s fresh material now. The spring schedule is guaranteed fresh material from 6 a.m. to 2 a.m.”
“It’s a packed schedule,” adds Lin.
Considering the sheer amount of original programming now airing on WMBR, it would be easy to assume the station relies heavily on ad revenue to keep the lights on. But, thanks to one fundraising week held each November, the station keeps pumping out music and spoken-word shows such as “Music for Eels,” “Post-Tentious,” and “Crunchy Plastic Dinosaurs.”
“And operating an FM radio station is not cheap,” says Rock, “maintaining the antennas and buying new tech equipment, getting music, paying licensing fees, and ordering pizza to keep the students on board because the DJs have to be happy, etc. So it’s a real privilege that we are able to operate on that listener funding from that one week each year.”
“It’s kind of crazy, because when you’re broadcasting, it’s to Greater Boston, but you really don’t know how many people are listening,” adds Lin. “And I think it’s really awesome when you see fundraising week. It’s like, ‘Yeah, people really do listen.’”
“And if a donor chooses to pledge to a show, generally the DJs will mail a postcard back as thanks for that donation. So, if you want a signature of Maggie’s or mine, support us in November!” laughs Rock. “Limiting [fundraising] to one week means that we never advertise, so as long as we keep that contained to one-52nd of the year, the rest of the time you just get the music and the DJ’s commentary you tuned in for. There’s no solicitation.”
In many ways, this highlights the paradox of WMBR: reconciling its undeniable audience of loyal listeners and passionate community members with the fact that many MIT students and employees have never heard of WMBR.
“I think a lot of people just don’t quite know that the radio station is something that exists,” explains Lin. “I understand it’s because people our age don’t really listen to radio much anymore, but I think the space is so amazing. A lot of the new students that we bring in are pretty awed by it, especially the record library; with hundreds of thousands of records and CDs, and the studios,” says Lin, referencing the station’s impressive collection of music, which fills a space so large that it once held a bowling alley. “It’s an opportunity that is kind of easy to miss out on. So I feel like we’re bringing in new members — which I’m really happy about — but I just want people to know that WMBR is here, and it’s really cool.”
“Yes. I second that,” says Rock. “MIT is so full of opportunities and resources that you can’t possibly take advantage of all of them, but we are hidden here in the basement of Walker Memorial where students don’t really make it [to] that often.”
“Listeners don’t even know,” laughs Lin. “We had someone pass by the door once, and they were like, ‘The radio station? It’s here?’”
“I didn’t know there was a campus radio station, and I frankly hadn’t really thought of campus radio until I walked into Activities Midway during my first CPW [Campus Preview Weekend], and maybe orientation,” adds Rock. “One of the great things about it is that you can share your own music tastes with all of greater Boston. You have the aux cord for an hour every week, and it’s such a privilege.”
“It’s kind of scary-sounding to think, ‘You’re going to go sit behind a microphone and all of Greater Boston will hear you,’” adds Lin. “But James is always full of confidence, so I just thought, ‘What if we did a show together?’ That’s another thing that we like as we get new students in: people who want to co-host shows together.”
“We are always looking for new student members,” says Rock. “Whether you want to do a radio show, podcast, help with maintaining and upgrading our broadcast equipment, or gain valuable experience helping to manage and lead a nonprofit organization that is an eclectic mix of MIT students, staff, and members of the local community, let us know!”
Walker Memorial Basement Radio (WMBR) is currently on the air and streaming 24/7. Listen online here, or tune your dial to 88.1 FM. To find out more about joining WMBR, send a message to [email protected].

our head on His breast
"then, leaning back on Jesus’ breast, he said to Him, “Lord, who is it?" john 13:25
ever wonder why the apostle john was known as the beloved apostle? could it be that he gave much and therefore received much?
he prayeth best, who loveth best all things both great and small; for the dear God who loveth us, He made and loveth all.”
― samuel taylor coleridge
john the apostle has become known as the apostle of love, writing more about love than all the other new testament writers combined. he wasn't always viewed with such reverence, however. long before he became "the disciple whom Jesus loved," his consuming temper earned him the nickname "son of thunder."
many observations may be gleaned from our fascination with this enigmatic and revered apostle. at the foundation of john's remarkable transformation lies the simple truth of the gospel of Jesus, as expressed by john in his last years of ministry: "my little children, love one another… if this is done, it is all-sufficient."
john sought and was rewarded with an intimacy that crept ever closer to the deity of Christ and the Godhead. "and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth." john 1:14
he recorded one of the most beloved books of the bible, as well as his then veiled description of the end days; days now upon us. john had the longest life of all the apostles, which i am not sure if he regarded as reward or drudgery as he longed to be where ever Jesus was; to once again rest his head on that precious breast.
in john we acquire an appreciation for the miracle of love and grace applied to one by walking with Christ. Jesus looks at each of us and sees us as we will become, not merely as we are. john is an encouraging example for us. if we love one another as Christ commanded, it will be sufficient us as well.
i think of mary who hung on the Lord's every word. "but one thing is needed, and mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her." luke 10:42 it will not be taken from you either if you cherish it so.
desire that intimacy above all else. rest your head upon His breast. rest it on the Word and fellowship of the Holy Spirit and you too will become sons of light. "the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come." john 16:13
that makes me think of the phone commercial that swept america a few years ago. "can you hear me now?" you definitely won't hear if you're not listening. "and behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice." 1 kings 19:11-12 that's where you'll find the Lord.

How Mercury Retrograde Affects Each Zodiac Sign
Mercury retrograde predictions for each astrological sign
Catherine Boeckmann
How does Mercury Retrograde affect your zodiac sign? Here’s a list of all 12 astrological signs from Aquarius to Capricorn, and a brief summary of how the planet of communication and cognitive function will influence you and your life!
During Mercury Retrograde, the planet nearest the Sun appears to be spinning backwards; ancient astrologers believed that the patterns of the cosmos influenced our own lives. Thankfully, Mercury Retrograde only happens a few times a year as part of your annual solar journey! Learn more about Mercury Retrograde and see this year’s Mercury Retrograde dates.
Mercury Retrograde Effects by Zodiac Sign
When Mercury enters retrograde motion within the range of dates for a given astrological sign, be wary of the listed effects.
Note that the planet Mercury rules both Gemini and Virgo, so these two signs are most heavily affected.
IN AQUARIUS (Jan 20–Feb 18): With Mercury retrograde in Aquarius, the sign that governs relationships, friendships are put at risk. Petty squabbles, misunderstandings, and miscommunications abound. Know who your friends are.
IN PISCES (Feb 19–Mar 20): Foggy thinking, daydreams, and escapism are the norm; day-to-day realities confound otherwise clear heads when Mercury, the planet that rules logic, is in Pisces, which governs illusion. Practice creative pursuits—writing, dancing, photography, film, or painting.
IN ARIES (Mar 21–Apr 19): Expect to be frustrated and frazzled. Assertive, impulsive Aries wants to move ahead, and all of the energy is going backward. Watch what you say and how you say it. Pay attention to what people say to you; you might be pleasantly surprised.
IN TAURUS (Apr 20–May 20): Take time to formulate your thoughts. Taurus, an unhurried sign, slows down the mental processes. He also governs banking, so delay money matters. Review financial matters, and position yourself for growth.
IN GEMINI (May 21–Jun 20): Because Gemini rules communications, be prepared for miscommunications when Mercury is in this sign. Expect lots of phone calls or none, and lost or misplaced mail. You may not articulate clearly, and gossip abounds. Old friends may reconnect.
IN CANCER (Jun 21–Jul 22): Expect annoyances at home with baking, gardening, and household duties under domesticated Cancer. Complete repair projects that weren’t finished or done correctly.
IN LEO (Jul 23–Aug 22): Avoid speculative investments. It is not a good time to buy and sell or do any trading. Instead, analyze your investment portfolio. Use your know-how and advisory skills to help friends and associates.
IN VIRGO (Aug 23–Sep 22): Challenging situations arise, especially in the workplace. Expect product delays and equipment breakdowns, as well as crankiness among coworkers under finicky, detail-oriented Virgo. Double-check your work before you call it finished.
IN LIBRA (Sep 23–Oct 22: Accept your physical attributes; do not have a makeover. Indecision reigns, so limit purchases—or risk returning them. Libra, representing beauty, grace, charm, and diplomacy, is out of balance. Refresh, relax, and rejuvenate.
IN SCORPIO (Oct 23–Nov 21): Emotions rule—not common sense—so beware. Avoid affairs of the heart. Passionate Scorpio is also secretive, and your secrets may seep out. Keep them in a diary.
IN SAGITTARIUS (Nov 22–Dec 21): It is not a time to travel, so reschedule or expect delays, lines, and lost directions. Instead, take care of local affairs. Patience and a sense of humor are needed.
IN CAPRICORN (Dec 22–Jan 19): Avoid buying, selling, or renting real estate under Capricorn, the sign that governs property matters. Expect problems with paperwork, packing, and movers. Reunite with family or vacation at home.
There is a time to let things happen and a time to make things happen. –Hugh Prather, American writer (b. 1938)
Planet Mercury and Astrology
In astrology, all of the planet’s attributes are rooted in ancient mythology. (Mercury is the name given by the ancient Romans to the Greek mythological god Hermes.)
In mythology, Mercury was the official messenger of the ancient gods and goddesses and, as such, governed communications. Mercury is depicted as a male figure having winged sandals and a winged hat, indicating the ability to travel quickly. Correspondingly, the planet Mercury has the fastest orbit of all the planets in the solar system, taking 88 days to swiftly orbit the Sun.
Mercury’s name is also translated as the “keeper of boundaries,” as he will travel between the upper and lower worlds and often serve as the guide of souls to the underworld. As well as communication and travel, Mercury represents mental quickness, cognitive function, and reasoning. The flipside of Mercury’s cleverness and wit is cunningness. He is also recognized as a trickster, prone to misbehavior.
In 1782, Mercury became the first symbol of the United States’ fledgling postal service. Today, he is recognized as an icon of an international floral delivery service as well as the official symbol of the postal service of Greece.
In medicine, Mercury is associated with the nervous system, the brain, the respiratory system, the thyroid, and the sense organs. See The Man of Signs—a representation of how each astrological sign affects a different part of the body.

WHY?
So, I have a story to tell.
I got my iPhone 7 Plus way back December 2016. This was my phone until 2022. I was okay with it, still works just fine. But I decided to reward myself and upgraded to the latest iPhone, which is iPhone 13 Pro Max last February 2022. My reason was, kelangan na magpahinga ng 7+ ko kase super tagal na nya and need ko narin ng latest phone dahil sa nature ng work ko. I need to be able to work fast and download the necessary apps I use for my work.
I have this “friend” na laging napupuna pag may bago sakin. I posted an unboxing video of my new phone kase I am grateful and yun yung peak ng TikTok era of my unboxing videos, so I thought, why not? Wala rin naman akong masyadong viewers so okay lang.
Then this friend of mine sent me a message saying na, wow nag-upgrade na daw pala ako. Buti pa daw ako may new phone, ganern. Hmm okay? I worked hard for it and I use it for work, too. That probably ended her thoughts and said na she’d like to apply to my job. Sige. See you there?
Last year, Nov of 2022, one of my best friends bought her first big screened iPhone na 14 Pro Max. She told me how she got it na walang down payment. I got interested and applied using my Globe plan. I thought it’s time narin for Amira to upgrade her phone since she’s just using her Huawei na free from Globe way back years ago, plus my iPhone 7 Plus na pinaglumaan ko. Hindi kase maluho si Amira, but I know na nahihirapan na sya sa phone nya and all of her colleagues are using iPhone X models pataas. Luckily, I got the phone from Globe last December 2022. I chose the latest one which is the iPhone 14 Pro Max. Amira took my 13 Pro Max so I got the 14 Pro Max. We video taped how we unboxed the 14 Pro Max but I never posted it kase medyo madami narin nagviview ng TikTok uploads ko and ayako mapagisipan na mayabang thinking na hindi naman cash namin nakuha.
I recently uploaded a video on TikTok of Amira holding her phone. No bad intentions kase yun yung time na nasa Siargao kami and we were both having fun recording random things. Lo and behold, she was so smart and realized that since Amira has the iPhone 13 Pro Max, I now have the iPhone 14 Pro Max. Take note, I do not have any pictures or videos of myself holding my phone. Nice!
She said, “Taray, kaka-upgrade mo lang ah, nag-upgrade ka ulit?”
I do not want to sound annoyed or rude or anything at all so I just said na “Yes.” She then said na paano daw ako nakakuha, ganon daw ba kalaki sahod ko, buti pa daw ako nakabili kahit work from home lang ako. I mean, huh? Problema mo? Pero syempre hindi ko sinabi yun. Hahaha! Sabi ko lang, maayos naman work ko and hindi ko naman sya kukunin kung hindi ko kayang bayaran. Isa pa, it has been years since I last upgraded. Then iniba na nya yung topic.
In my mind, ano kayang point ng taong to para magsabi ng ganon sakin. I did not even show off my phone on any social media platforms. Saka ano naman sayo kung bumili ako ng phone araw-araw? Hahaha! Diba?
I don’t know why some people are so pissed sa mga simple joys ng ibang tao. Dahil ba ayaw nilang nahihigitan sila? Why can’t they be happy pag happy yung ibang tao? We all have our own achievements and happiness through material things, so why question someone’s ability to get the things they want?
Maybe get a job? Lol. Joke. That was rude. You clearly have a job. Minding other people’s business. Taray, may business!
O sya, ayun lang. Nakwento ko lang naman. Pag nabasa mo to e di good job sayo. Amazing ka talaga sa paguugaling yan. Pagpatuloy mo lang. Kbye. See yah! 🙃

Tumblr Post Compilation: A Masterpost
First of all, let me tell you what you're about to see.
This is a list of 118 "funny tumblr posts" taken from YouTube compilations in 2016. I tracked down all these posts on tumblr myself in Nov 2021. The post is broken up into two parts, and is available under the cut. Each of the links is named after a snippet from the actual post (effectively the "punchline"), and clicking on it brings up the full post, which you can reblog and interact with.
These posts are nostalgic to me because I watched these YouTube compilations before I came to tumblr. I recommend you scroll through these posts, as they bring up a form of humor that's rarely seen today which, I think, has almost been lost to time. Also, if you want to learn how to do this, there's some insight as to how I did this at the end of the post.
