the 5-year update

By some miracle, I remembered the password to this account to create a blog for my internship last year. It's bizarre seeing people still posting, but, like in a cool way. I really do miss the heyday of Tumblr. It's funny reading my old posts. I've always had a dramatic streak (would you expect anything less from a Leo moon) and I don't know if that's subsided with age. Though that girl is so far away, I still recognize her. And I forgive her. I just want to make past me proud.

Any who, here's some things that have happened since I last posted 5 years ago.

Got laid off from my fundraising job (thanks COVID).

Moves I made: SF -> South Bay/Silicon Valley -> Detroit -> Seattle -> Detroit.

Got my masters degree and became a librarian.

Started healing my relationship with my family.

Cultivated some friendships, lost a lot more friendships.

Dated quite a bit, then not.

Visited 15 states for the first time.

Navigated situational depression.

Saw a therapist, registered dietitian, and personal trainer, to heal my mental, physical, and emotional health.

Pursued an ADHD diagnosis (pending results).

Dove headfirst into astrology studies.

For some time, I thought I wanted to build roots back home in Detroit. But the longer I stay here, the less I'm sure that I want to call Detroit home for good. To be fair, I have only been back here for 6 months, most of which has been spent either working, taking care of my grandma, or sick. So I can't say I've given home a fair chance yet. But I'm also bored. I don't feel the same inspiration to live as I once did. That could be a result of COVID-19 lockdown burnout though. Maybe I just need another road trip or festival or book or drugs to reignite the spark inside of me.

For now, I just need to do my absolute best. Maybe things will fall into place from there. But, knowing my Scorpio stellium ass, nothing I gain comes without a good ol' life-altering transformation.

clark kent is the kind of guy to plan out his entire future with you while he’s balls deep and absolutely pussy drunk. his body is pressed against yours with his head buried in the crook of your neck, breathing heavily while making scarcely comprehensible promises in your ear. the fantasies swirl in his mind, becoming more vivid as he gets closer and closer.

“ ‘m gonna marry you, a-and we can have a farm of our own, ah- and a big house with kids, fuck…jus’ want it all with you please.” and then in true clark fashion he gets a tad embarrassed about what he said after he’s done, but you both know he really means it.

adding to this idea—it's so much easier for JASON TODD to talk with you if he has his helmet on. when his flushed cheeks and unwavering gaze can't be picked up on or picked apart. jason is a more guarded person, making his crush on you even more difficult for him. he wants to be obvious with his affection, but it's so much easier when he's donned with the redhood's mask.

it's like the damned helmet gives him the courage he can't seem to muster up otherwise. behind it, jason can be bold, he can flirt without second guessing every word that comes out of his mouth. doesn't have to worry about you catching the way his lips twitch everytime you smile at him, or how his eyes always find their way back to you, tracing the shadows of your face like he's memorizing every detail.

but the second he takes it off, it's like a switch flips. he's back to just being jason—not red hood—not the masked vigilante with an air of confidence. he's just a guy, awkward and stumbling over his words, trying entirely too hard not to give away the fact that he's completely smitten.

Amidst the chaos and disappointments that encompassed my last two months, I had a fun connection about two of my favorite brain rot comics - you got an immortal(ish) with a harsh backstory who spirals into obsessive hatred that ends in the stealing of their obsession's bodies and subsequently haunt those family lines and those adjacent to them for generations - and I liken the Zeppelis, who shares the Joestar's generational curse by Dio/immortal creatures in general, to the Conaghers who I also see as helpers to the Mann line Its a really cool angle to look at Engie in, who since I was 14 was my least favorite character lol, this really elevated him for me

And so if the Manns are like the Joestars, that means like, Olivia Man is the equivalent of Joseph lol which is very funny to me

if i had to talk about guts it so easily describes how growing up fast and not being ready for it feels as, like the passive aggressiveness about being grateful all the time and going back to bad decisions, realising you're also half responsible for whatever happens midway through, the "another thing i ruined i used for fun", oh also the constant comparing of your body and never feeling good enough because pretty isn't pretty and still mentally stuck in your teenage days because you never really lived them, they say it'll get better but what if I don't?

thinking of JASON TODD and control. specifically how good control feels when the only aspect of it he has to worry about is how much he has over you. the moments where it’s just the two of you, unabashedly in the throws of eachother—he’s in the lead, full control. you give yourself over to him in a way that makes him want to keep going. if not right after, then the day after—anything to keep you in this state of bliss.

he’s a control freak when it comes to you. he’s working all the right places, kissing areas only a lover would, and he flourishes in his role, both of them. the role of authority—equipped with demands and rewards, punishments, too. the role of protector—grounding and safe, goal never to inflict pain, only pleasure.

he’s a groaning, muttering, and simpering mess. he’s barely in control of himself—but he tightens his own reins. for you, he can put himself last. he cares more about how you’re feeling, and reacting, more anyway. that’s why he refuses to bite back his lustful sounds—he’s egging you on. exercising that control.

and oh, he’s always going to have the last word too. doesn’t matter if you’re cognizant of it or not. usually not, as he likes to work you fully. but jason’s still going to pull you close, lips ghosting your ear to whisper, “such a good girl, and just for me,” a pause and a grin, “you can handle more, c’mon sweetheart. i know you.”

jason is the one in complete control, and it licks at a wound deep within himself. he feels good making you feel good—even better when he knows you trust him enough to make you feel this good. a sacred display of control—just for the two of you.
