Malfoy Made: Prologue
“I-pft, I would be honored to. Only if you are sure, though. This decision is yours to make, and I will support you if you want me to be a babysitter for the babe whilst you get an education.”
“No, no, I don’t want this bloody thing! I’m sure of it. But you don’t understand.” She takes a sip of her tea and then places it back on its coaster. “I need you to pretend to be pregnant.”
Hermione chokes on her tea, coughing hard when it hits her trachea rather than her esophagus. “Pardon?”
Here I am, back with another kid fic that will probably be 25 chapters long. Please bear with me as I am going back to school v soon. Please enjoy this as much as I enjoyed writing it <3

| slytherin!colby brock x quiet!hufflepuff!reader
summary: in which, the noisy and rude slytherin boy starts to take notice in the shy quiet hufflepuff girl who reads constantly.
warning: people being mean to reader, lowkey bad like redemption from colby tbh
authors note: this is awful i’m gonna sob.
loud (part two)
for some reason, y/n had always preferred the quiet. she surrounded herself with quiet people and she tended to stay away from those who were loud and didn’t follow the rules.
yes, she was friends with hermione granger, despite being two years older than her and disagreeing with all of the trouble her and her friends got themselves into. but hermione enjoyed similar things to y/n and they understood each others passions.
however, there were many in y/n’s year that’s she did not get along with. sure, there was fred and george. but they never did anything to her, they’d never pranked y/n or messed with y/n. mainly due to the fact hermione had asked and y/n had never really done anything wrong. so y/n could make exceptions for the twins.
but colby brock and sam golbach would be the death of her. sam golbach being the distant cousin of draco malfoy, someone else who she couldn’t stand.
sam and draco had once teased y/n a year or two ago. she couldn’t even remember what it was for, in all honesty. she didn’t even really pay them much attention due to being use to the slytherins tormenting her.
colby brock however, just made her blood boil. sure, he’d never done anything to y/n directly. but the way he acted to other people and the professors, made y/n want to strangle him to death.
for whatever reason, colby believed he was above everything and everyone. something which y/n couldn’t stand about people. egotistical people. egocentric. she couldn’t understand how he thought he was better than everyone.
colby, like mentioned before, hadn’t done anything to y/n personally. but he and sam had teased her friends on multiple occasions during lessons and even teased hermione, despite her being two years younger than them. make that make sense.
he was just one of those boys who would be unnecessarily loud for no reason. who would throw things around the classroom, or mess with other students potions when they weren’t looking, causing that unfortunate student a weeks worth of detention with snape.
y/n sat in the courtyard on a bench by herself, reading a book that was gifted to her over the christmas holidays. the weather was just beginning to warm up, only slightly though. so y/n had wrapped herself in a jacket and her yellow hufflepuff scarf.
as she flicked through the pages of her muggle book, she heard oncoming voices. y/n looked up and noticed sam, colby and a few other slytherin boys entering the courtyard from the main building.
she immediately averted her eyes, in fear they’d notice her. she thought that she had gotten away from the teasing for just one second, as the boys seemed to pass her. when a voice abruptly called out to her, “what do we have here?” it was sam. she didn’t even need to look up to know the smirks and grins they’d have on their faces.
y/n looked up, her face reddening in embarrassment, hoping she’d get away from this easily. “miss y/l/n!” sam grinned.
y/n looked up at the boys who approached her. sam being front and centre of them, draco to his side, the same with theo, mattheo and lorenzo. her eyes slipped through the middle of theo and draco and noticed colby stood at the back.
he was carefully eyeing y/n up. his eyes scanning over her, almost as if he were inspecting her. his eyes moved to her face and she looked down at the book, which she gripped tightly in her hands.
“not up for talking, hey?” sam asked. he looked to his friends, the stupid idiotic smirk still on his face. he reached down and swiped the book out of her hands, even though she felt like she was gripping onto the book for her dead life.
“what’s this?” sam then taunted, passing the book to draco, who opened it, beginning to read small passages in it. mocking y/n. y/n’s eyebrows furrowed in anger, but she was too scared to say anything, everyone knew that. y/n never spoke up for herself.
draco moved his hand to the top of the page, holding a few of the pages at the top. he was going to rip the book. a book which had been gifted from her father, who she rarely saw due to his job in the ministry.
but as draco went to move his hand, a voice called him out, “draco,” it was colby, “just leave it,” he added.
y/n’s eyes flickered to colby, who had a hint of sympathy in them. sam turned to colby, “come on. what you being like this for?” sam asked, nudging his best friend.
“we don’t need to waste our time on her. do we?” colby stated, looking at his friends. they rolled their eyes at colby, draco throwing the book back at y/n.
“enjoy your stupid book, y/l/n,” sam said, walking away from y/n, his friends following after him.
y/n immediately stood up, not noticing colby stood there still. “y/n, i’m-” but before he could ever finish his sentence, y/n had rushed away from him, her eyes watering.
some may call her weak, or too emotional, but she couldn’t comprehend why they picked on her. she never even spoke to them, she wouldn’t dare to speak to them for a matter of fact.
by dinner time, y/n had decided that the interaction she had with the slytherin boys today was just enough for her to deal with, so she told her friends she was going to sit on her own at dinner, so she could calm down and just bring herself back to reality.
she sat at the other end of the table, near the great hall entrance, with an old book that she’d read over a hundred times in one hand and her food in the other.
she’d only chose this book incase the boys decided to pay her visit and ruin it. at least if they did, she’d basically have memorised the book by now, due to how old it was.
it was quite a short book compared to her others, so she had managed to finish the book quite quickly.
placing the book in her bag, which she had brought with her just in case anything did go wrong, her eyes scanned the room, looking at people. people watching. it wasn’t meant to be as creepy as it sounded, but it was just something so simple.
being able to watch someone be themselves, or do little things they thought no one would see. it was a constant thing y/n did in class, seen as she would finish the work before everyone else.
she’d notice the wealsey twins furrow their eyebrows in any lesson, except in potions as they seem to have knowledge in the subject. she noticed how colby would close his eyes and mutter to himself when he was trying to think of something, which annoyed sam, so he’d nudge colby and tell him to ‘shut up’.
her eyes scanned around the hall, landing onto hermione, who sat with ron and harry. hermione seemed to be telling ron off, for god knows what reasons. it seemed like that was all she did these days.
her eyes wandered down her own table, landing on cedric diggory. a boy in her year, who she was relatively close to, due to the fact she’d grown up with him. and he also would stick up for her when people picked on her for being so quiet. cedric noticed that she was looking at him, so he smiled and waved, to which she smiled back at him and looked away.
her eyes then mistakenly moved onto the slytherin table. immediately, looking at colby. but, he was already looking at her…
y/n’s eyes windened and her cheeks went a light shade of red. she immediately looked down at her plate, avoiding the intimidating boys eyes.
y/n continued eating her dinner, not daring to look up. incase colby was still looking at her. he clearly wanted to get her back or something. or just bring up earlier and y/n did not want to deal with the confrontation from colby.
but after a few minutes of silently looking down at her plate, a shadow appeared on the table, someone was stood in front of her.
“y/l/n,” colby.
y/n slowly looked up. she didn’t know what to expect. he tended to be very erratic with his decisions and very random with sudden outbursts. but y/n just prayed the gods were on her side.
“brock,” she replied quietly, her eyes averting his harsh gaze.
“i came over here to-” but before colby could even utter out another word, cedric diggory appeared next to him.
“is there a problem here?” cedric asked, his finger pointing between y/n and colby.
“no. there isn’t diggory,” colby sneered.
colby would never ‘start’ on diggory. he knew diggory would actually say or fight back, especially over y/n. he saw how protective he was over the girl, seen as she couldn’t protect herself. and as stupid as it sounds, colby brock thought that it was sweet. yes! colby brock did indeed have a heart sometimes.
“good. you alright y/n?” cedric looked over to you, his eyes leaving colby’s. but colby also turned to look at y/n.
“fine thanks, ced,” y/n smiled sheepishly.
colby’s eyes almost softened. he’d never actually heard y/n speak before. not clearly anyways. when she’d answer quietly in class, near enough whispering the answer to the professor, he’d be whispering to sam about something stupid, or maybe even half asleep if he was lucky.
but hearing her voice properly and clearly. not actually even realising how fragile and delicate she really was. as condescending as it sounded, it was true. y/n y/l/n was a delicate girl.
she carried herself well. she always looked perfect, her work always looked perfect, her grades were always perfect, she was always perfect. she was a perfectionist.
colby glared one last time at cedric, sparing one last look at y/n, who stared at him. he thinned his lips and turned away, walking out of the great hall, his friends watching him leave in confusion, sam even calling out his name.
cedric said a goodbye and walked back over to his friends, leaving y/n so confused on why colby brock was coming to even speak to her in the first place.
y/n looked over to where he sat, but looked straight back down as sam was glaring straight at her.
did he think she’d said something to colby?
she hoped not. y/n knew same would eventually confront her about why colby was coming to talk to her. but even she didn’t know why. so y/n’s goal for now, was to avoid sam at all costs.
even though y/n hated rule breakers, there was one rule she’d break herself. call her a hypocrite. but sometimes, she just needed that moment to herself, on the astronomy tower, when it was late at night. where she could name all the stars and constellations she could see.
this was a frequent habit and she’d only been caught once or twice. luckily, getting away with it, as professor sprout had agreed that y/n never did anything wrong. so she let her off and just warned her about trying not to get caught ever again.
y/n climbed the stairs to the astronomy tower, muttering some spells to herself as she had a test tomorrow in charms.
y/n opened the door to the tower and stepped in. that was when she ran into colby.
he was stood facing out, looking into the dark cloudy sky. he turned around at the sound of the creaking door opening.
y/n’s eyes widened, “i-i’m sorry!” y/n squeaked out. “i’ll go,” immediately, she turned around.
but colby took steps forward and called out her name, “y/n!” y/n? colby brock had just used her first name. she slowly turned on her feet, nervously fidgeting with her hands.
“stay,” he said. “please,” he begged. y/n slowly walked into the room, making her way over to the railing of the balcony. she stood next to colby, silently.
“i wanted to apologise earlier. but cedric never let me get to that,” colby spoke, after a few minutes of silence. “i want to say i’m sorry. for earlier. for the whole book thing,” he apologised.
y/n was unsure what to say. she was worried if she said something ‘offensive’ then colby would have her for it. but she was going to risk it.
“what about all the other times?” she spoke carefully. “why are you guys so mean to me?” colby sighed. he felt bad. really bad.
he’d always admired the girl from afar. colby brock thought y/n y/l/n was pretty. he’d always thought that.
“look- i- i know there’s nothing i can say that will take back all the times sam, draco or me have teased you. and i know that. and i guess, when i first saw you in first year, i thought you were cool and pretty. and that you were this shy quiet cute girl and i liked that. you weren’t like all the other girls in our year,” he explained.
“and when i was sorted into slytherin and you were a hufflepuff, i knew this changed everything. then, when sam began picking on you. he’s been my bestfriend since i was two. i couldn’t just turn against him and defend you. so, i had to stand back, and join in. and i know how that sounds. and it doesn’t excuse what i’ve done,”
y/n looked out. what was going on? she was in disbelief. what was she supposed to say to that. she was unsure. the only word she could come out with was “oh,”
colby grabbed her hands gently, y/n flinching slightly at the sudden action. “i’m so sorry, y/n,” colby repeated.
y/n sighed, unsure in what to do, “i can tell. but it’s going to take a while for me to even trust you,” she responded.
colby could only pay attention to how softly the girl spoke. he’d obviously picked up on it when he visited her table. but noticing her in this light, and hearing her this close up makes her a million times sweeter.
“but i’m scared colby. and i want you to be able to understand that,” he nodded quickly. “if you can gain my trust, i’ll think about this. i’ll think about us,” she whispered.
a smile fled to colby’s face, “thank you,” he smiled. he gently placed his arms around y/n’s waist, pulling her in for a hug.
she didn’t expect the gesture at all, not reacting at first, but then realised she had not reacted. she quickly melted into the hug, reaching up around his shoulders.
she held on tightly, cherishing the moment. if colby suddenly changed the next day, at least she could say she had some ‘moment’ with colby brock himself.
he slowly pulled away, placing his hands on her cheeks. “i do care about you. and im going to do whatever it takes to make you trust me, because i do like you,” colby promised. “i won’t let anyone mess with you anymore,” y/n nodded and smiled, leaning into colby’s touch.
the door to the astronomy tower opened, causing the pair to jump apart. it was snape.
“mr brock and miss y/l/n, i suppose you do realise it is past curfew?” he asked. y/n looked down at the floor in embarrassment.
she knew she’d not get away this time. sure, she did extremely well in snape’s classes, but he was strict on rules.
y/n nodded, “well then, i suppose you also realise you two must be punished? detention, tomorrow. don’t be late. now go back to your dormitories!”
snape left, leaving the door opened. “that’s my first ever detention!” y/n whispered to herself, in shock.
colby laughed at her reaction, “come on y/n, you’re gonna be hanging around with me now. you gonna have to get use to it,”

(Fine, I’ll do it my damn self: part 3 of my silly lil mlm stories <3)
Slytherin Twin — draco malfoy x male! slytherin! weasley! reader x harry potter
tws: umbridge’s blood quill, maybe like a pinch of homophobia?
i need more representation of slytherins who enjoy care of magical creatures goddamnit
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
“Ronald Weasley.”
“GRYFFINDOR!”
“Y/N Weasley.”
Oh, no. Minerva McGonagall does not get paid enough to deal with another set of Weasley twins.
“SLYTHERIN!”
Maybe I should retire, Minerva thinks faintly.
You don’t seem to mind at all that the Great Hall is dead silent as you skip towards the Slytherin table, your brothers watching in a mix of shock, fascination, resignation, and abject horror.
You plop down right next to Draco Malfoy, grinning widely at him before waving cheerily towards some of the older students who are struggling to hold back their unabashed glee.
“A Weasley in Slytherin? I thought your entire family was made up of idioticly naïve fools,” Malfoy sneers sharply, a look of contempt rising on his smug face.
“Draco Malfoy in Slytherin? How much did your family have to pay to ensure you got in?” you reply with a sweet smile on your face. The older students stare in awe at the Weasley who just left a Malfoy speechless.
Much to their surprise, however, Draco’s face broke out into a grin. “So you do belong here. Very well then, Weasley. Lovely to make your acquaintance.”
“Likewise, Malfoy.”
~~~
“‘The Chamber of Secrets has been opened. Enemies of the heir beware.’ What does that even mean?”
“D’you still think it’s about Potter?” you ask around a mouthful of toast. “Cause I think you might’ve been wrong ‘bout him, Dray.”
“Potter is a spoiled prat, Y/N. Just because he’s the Chosen One, he thinks he’s so special-”
“My brothers broke him out of his uncle’s house over the summer. They’d put bars on his window and starved him.”
Draco stops his tirade about Potter, looking positively bewildered. “What?”
~~~
As you were leaving the library, you bumped into Hermione Granger, your brother’s girlfriend friend.
“Sorry,” you mutter, continuing on your way. You don’t look back, so you never see the dawning look of realization once Granger unfolds the torn-out page you’d shoved into her hand.
~~~
Harry Potter opens the Gryffindor portrait at your hesitant knocking. “Oh- Y/N, right? Ron’s brother?”
You nod uncertainly. “Yeah, um… I just wanted to say that I’m real sorry about Buckbeak. Malfoy’s a git, you know.”
Harry nods slowly. “Yeah. Isn’t he like, your best friend though?”
“Like you’ve never thought of Ronnie as a git too, Potter.”
He grins and holds the portrait open for you. “Here- welcome to the common room, I guess.”
You look around, unimpressed. “My eyes are bleeding.”
Smoothing out your Slytherin sweater, you continue, “Like, this is almost as bad as Ron’s Chudley Cannons shrine-bedroom.”
A unfamiliar scowling face looks up from the couch, glaring daggers at you. “Oi, what are you doing here? Shouldn’t you be fawning over your Slytherin prince?”
“Hey, leave him alone, Finnegan!” Ron snaps, appearing at the bottom of the stairwell to his dorm. “I swear to Merlin, you are such a prat.”
Ignoring your brother, you raise your hands up in mock surrender, smiling patronizingly at Seamus. “Hey, no hard feelings, leprechaun. I’m just here to apologize on Dray’s behalf.”
“On Dray’s behalf,” Cormac McLaggen mocks in a high-pitched voice. “Oh, Dray!”
A few girls next to him titter with laughter.
“Malfoy your boyfriend or something, Weasley?” McLaggen spits your name like it were a curse.
“Oh, indeed,” you deadpan. “You’re invited to the wedding. Won’t you be my best man, please?”
“If you’re just here to make fun of us, maybe you ought’a leave,” Seamus butts in again.
“Whatever. Anyways, Potter, I found a couple of books in the library about the Ministry’s statutes, and I bookmarked a few pages about the fascinating Release of Liability contracts that Hogwarts students’ guardians have to sign at the beginning of every school year,” you look down at your nails, feigning disinterest. “But if you’re not interested, then I’ll be off. Wouldn’t want to overstay my welcome.”
~~~
“Y/N, here,” Pansy Parkinson said with a look of poorly-contained glee, gently setting a pure white ferret into your hands. “It’s Draco’s, and you’re in charge of ferret-sitting for the foreseeable future. Have fun!”
Blaise just slowly shakes his head and mouths I’m so sorry in your direction as Pansy drags him off, laughing mirthfully. You blink, glancing down at the tiny animal who is currently glaring at you. Draco’s indeed, you think to yourself.
“Heya, little guy. It’s snowing pretty hard outside, are you fine riding in my pocket until I get to my next class?”
You hold open the deep pocket of your robe with your free hand, the ferret immediately leaping inside. You waited as it got settled, its tiny paws and head peeking out.
Satisfied, you start your walk across the school grounds, taking a much longer path than usual to avoid your older brothers, who had been giggling to each other far too much this morning for your comfort.
You chatter to the little rodent in your pocket, about everything from the Divination test you failed this morning to the fantastic cherry tart your mother makes every Yule. Before long, you arrive and climb up the stone steps, knocking on the heavy wood door and tucking your hands into your armpits to keep warm.
The door opens, revealing the half-giant groundskeeper who smiles happily at you.
“Y/N! I jus’ put on a kettle of tea, now. Glad y’made it, lad.”
As he ushers you into the warm, inviting hut, the ferret in your pocket squeaks at the sight of the large dog asleep by the fire.
You giggle, pulling the ferret out and setting it on the arm of your chair, gladly taking the warm teacup offered to you. “Mr. Hagrid, sir. My friend Pansy just kind of gave me this little guy out of nowhere and told me I was on indefinite ferret-sitting duty.”
Hagrid sits forward in his chair, setting down his delicate china teacup that looks rather out of place in his large hand, and squints at the ferret.
“Tha’s transfigured, that is,” Hagrid grunts. “Not a ferret.”
“I figured,” you shrug. “Ten galleons says it’s Malfoy.”
The ferret squeaks indignantly.
Hagrid chuckles. “If it is y’, Malfoy, I right like you better like this.”
You reach out to scratch the top of Malfoy (Ferret?) Blondie’s head. “So can you turn him back, Mr. Hagrid?”
“‘Fraid not, with no wand,” he taps his fingers on his teacup, making a steady clink clink clink sound. “Ah! But our mutual friend should be dropping by shortly, yeah?”
His sentence is punctuated by the well-timed FWOOSH of a flooed-in visitor.
“Heya, Harry! Draco’s a ferret now.”
“He wasn’t already?”
~~~
“My father will hear about this!”
“I’m sure he will, Dray, I’m sure he will,” you deadpan, wincing at the sting of Murtlap Essence on the back of your hand.
He mumbles a quiet apology, already rewrapping Harry’s hand in fresh bandages.
If you had told any Hogwarts student five years ago that one day, Harry Potter and Y/N Weasley would be sitting on the dusty floor of Filch’s dingy custodial closet, having their self-inflicted ‘detentions’ healed and wrapped by Draco Malfoy, they would’ve laughed in your face.
Despite that, the perplexing triad found solace in each others’ presence. No words left needing to be said.
Phobia || Draco Malfoy x GN!Reader
Draco Malfoy x Reader || I can’t
Summary: Reader is having a panic attack because some bullies pick on them about a phobia they have and Draco helps soothe and comforts them. He just stays by their side until they’re ok :)
Warnings: panic attack, crying, swearing, phobia
Word count: 1.7k
a/n: It's kind of short, but I needed to rant through this haha. Didn’t realize how bad my anxiety got over something until something triggered it again, so uh, now I’m writing. I’m not going to specify what exactly the phobia is, so I’ll make it quite vague, but I need to rant this out in writing. I’m still a bit shaky and sore from what happened, but I’ll be alright ^^ Also, I know panic attacks can be different for everyone, I still have a difficult time trying to put into words what I go through, but I’m trying my best, I want to be able to write it out and describe it.
Today actually started quite nice. The sun gently kissed your skin as you walked through the corridors on the way to class. Breakfast was pleasant as you had met up with your boyfriend, Draco, and chatted comfortably while eating your favorite foods and drinking pumpkin juice. Things were alright.
“Hey, love, I’ll catch you in Transfiguration alright? I’ve got to speak to Professor Snape now,” Draco gently kissed your forehead as he stood up from the table, grabbing his belongings.
“Alright, see you later!” You replied back with a gentle wave. Your gaze held such endearment for your boyfriend as you watched him walk out of the Great Hall. Not long after, you returned to eating your breakfast and laughing with your other friends.
Today was alright, or so you thought.
Everything had been pleasant until some awful upperclassmen started picking on you.
They found out about a phobia of yours not long ago and deemed it worthy of picking on you for it. So there you were, huddled in a corner of an empty classroom while four older Gryffindor and Ravenclaws relentlessly tore at your fear. They taunted you, laughed at your shaking, mocked your sobs. You didn’t know how to escape this cruel torture.
They found it ridiculous that you could fear such a thing. Such a thing that seemed mundane or normal to others. But it was a phobia for you. An extreme fear that you could not escape. It’s not like you wanted this phobia. You even thought it was silly, but when they attacked you so harshly about it, bringing it up in all of the wrong ways that triggered you, you just broke.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Draco had found it odd when you didn’t show up for Transfiguration. Normally, you would be there by now, greeting him with your ever so adorable, excited wave and small smile. You made Draco feel and act in ways he didn’t think he was capable of. He held so much love for you, he thought his heart might burst. Draco would do anything for you.
Thirty minutes later, there was still no sign of you. A scowl rested upon his face for the rest of the class. Why weren’t you sitting next to him in class? What could have prevented you from coming? You hadn’t said there was any reason you would be missing class.
That very same scowl was still present on Draco’s face when he walked into the Great Hall for lunch. He couldn’t find you anywhere in the small free time he had between class and lunch. His concern grew deeper when you didn’t show up for lunch. Little did he know, you were still huddled in the empty classroom, in the midst of a long and drawn out panic attack.
Draco did something he hoped he would not have to do, but he was getting desperate now.
“Hey Granger! I need your help with something.” He harshly whisper-yelled as he leaned closer towards the Gryffindor table.
“Not today Malfoy.” Hermione spat back, remaining turned the other way. Draco gave an irritated huff.
“I–....Please Granger. It’s about Y/n. Have you seen Y/n anywhere after breakfast today?” He sighed in defeat as he pleaded with the Gryffindor for any clue as to where you might be. He could hear Hermione sigh as well.
“Y/n is missing? I thought I saw some Gryffindors and Ravenclaws with Y/n earlier? They entered one of the empty classrooms I believe/” Hermione questioned, a hint of worry laced in her tone now.
“Shit.” Draco cursed more audibly. He knew that group of students always caused trouble for you. He thought he had taken care of them, and had told them to back off. “Dammit, that’s not good. Uhm, thanks Granger.” He quickly stood up from his seat, not hearing Hermione’s questions of worry. Hermione watched in concern for you as Draco ran out to find you.
“Y/N! Y/N!? Where are you!” Draco called out while jogging through the halls, hoping he would hear your voice ring out to him.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
By now, your tormentors had left. Their hour of torture felt like six days in hell. Bloody fucking hell. You had stayed curled up in that same corner, unable to move for another hour. Or two hours. You weren’t really sure how long you had been there. Your body refused to move, your muscles were tense and your body violently shook still. Big tears ran down your cheeks as you tried to calm your erratic breaths, but nothing was working. The tears wouldn’t stop and neither would your spiraling panicked thoughts.
Worst case scenarios swarmed your head. Your phobia imprisoned your mind. There was no escape from it. Is this the end? You just wanted to breathe normally again. You couldn’t catch your breath. Why did your limbs hurt so much? Oh yeah, you were frozen in that position. Your entire being tensed as if it grounded and chain you down.
What if something happened to you? What if it did happen to you? What if someone strapped you down and forced you to see it over and over and over again? What if–
“Y/N!” Your eyes shot in the direction you thought you heard a voice coming from. It sounded like Draco’s voice. You heard him call again through muffled hearing. You hoped your ears weren’t playing tricks on you. It was difficult to hear as your ears were ringing.
“Y/N! Where are you!?” It was him. Your lips parted, trying to muster the strength to call out to him. You could hear classroom doors opening and slamming shut. Draco was getting closer, all you had to do was yell for him and you knew he would come running to your side.
“I-I’m in here. Draco, I’m here,” you called out feebly, your voice shot from the silent sobs that constricted your throat. Thankfully the classroom door was open. Thankfully Draco was near enough to hear your small cry. Thankfully, thankfully, thankfully he finally entered.
Draco rushed over to your small, curled up form. His arms reach out to instinctively hug you. He kneeled in front of you, tightly embracing your trembling body.
“Love, there you are. What happened? Can you talk?” Worry was evident in his tone. You felt his voice in his chest as he spoke and leaned your head further into his chest. Breathing in his scent and listening to his heart beat began to bring you back to reality.
“A little.” You softly replied with a shaky voice. He hummed deeply in response.
“Can I move you?” He calmly asked.
“Yes.” He slowly maneuvered you and him into a position where he was sitting, back against the wall, with you curled up against his front and on his lap. Your whole body felt incredibly sore, you weren’t sure you could move on your own yet. The fear sometimes would paralyze you, leaving your limbs cramped in a position, unable to relax them.
Draco gently rubbed your arms and legs, knowing how you were when this would happen. “Does it hurt?” You gave a small ‘mhm’ and he squeezed you a little tighter. The two of you sat like that for a little while and you slowly calmed down enough to at least tell him what happened.
“I’m sorry, Draco.” You whispered out.
“Oh, love, you don’t need to apologize for this ever. Are you able to tell me what happened?” He asked so calmly again. You snuggled into his chest even closer.
“It was the same group again. The Gryffindors and Ravenclaws. They somehow found out about my fear… my phobia.” Your voice was still hoarse and quiet, but became even quieter at the end of your sentence. Draco already knew of your phobia. He witnessed what happened when you were around it, twice. Once before you started dating, and the other time towards the beginning of your relationship. It was never this bad though. This was the worst he has seen you become.
“My fear, I think it’s getting worse Draco. I don’t know how to control it or fix it.” You whimpered, stray tears fell down your cheeks.
“It will be alright, we can do this together. I can help you through it, yeah?” Draco wasn’t quite sure how he would help you through it or if he could help you overcome it, but he sure as hell wouldn’t hold it against you. He still loved you to the ends of time and back. “I’ll always be there for you.”
“Thank you Draco…” you sighed softly. “They tormented me for an hour. It–It was so awful. Why me, Draco? Why are they so cruel?” You sniffled at this, your voice cracking on your last question.
“They’re obviously jealous of you,” he chuckled softly. “They probably can’t stand just how talented, smart, amazing, and lovely you are.” You let a small laugh out through your nose. “But seriously, I’m going to fuck them up so badly for what they’ve done to you. I swear I will beat those pricks into a bloody pulp”
“Oh, Draco, please don’t cause too much of a ruckus. If you get detention, what would I do without you?” You playfully pleaded with him. Though worry was still prominent in your voice, you knew he would hold true to his words.
“Fine. I’ll just give them a stern talking to then.” He spat in anger at the thought of them again. “And I’ll report them to Professor McGonnagal as well.” You nodded in approval. Draco softly placed a kiss on the top of your head as he kept rubbing you comfortingly.
“I don’t know what I would do without you,” you sighed with happiness this time.
“I could say the same back to you, love.” You could feel the rumble of his chest as he chuckled softly.
“Can we just stay here a while longer?” Finally, you managed to look him in the eyes, with glassy, pleading eyes. He smiled at your action.
“Of course we can, I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.” He hummed while resting his head on top of yours, arms still wrapped protectively around you.
The Daughter
Summary: Enemies to lovers, Weasley x Lestrange. Linked is a more descriptive summary with author's notes (: Warnings: None Chapter One can be found here.
Chapter Two: Fred lounged on the couch by the bookshelf in the Gryffindor Common Room, tossing a hacky sack over his head lazily. He was surrounded by his siblings George, Ron, and Ginny, his best friend, Lee Jordan, and Ron’s friends Harry and Hermione.
Hermione was trying to cheer Harry up after being teased by Draco and his idiot friends who follow him around like a bunch of groupies. Harry was already embarrassed about fainting in front of his friends, and he couldn’t stand the idea of the other students at Hogwarts knowing about it. Especially the Slytherins.
“Harry, you heard Professor Dumbledore. You’re lucky you got off with only fainting,” Hermione said, rubbing her best friend’s back. “It could have been much worse.”
“Yeah, but Malfoy won’t ever see it that way,” Harry scowled.
“Malfoy’s a git,” Ron said with a mouthful of chocolate frogs he stole from the Great Hall. “Hey, who was that girl who told him quit it?”
Fred sat up. “That would be Kyrie Lestrange. She’s in our year and an even bigger tyrant than her cousin, Malfoy.”
“They’re cousins?” Ron asked.
“Yeah, haven’t you heard of her mother?” George said. When he read the confused faces of the kids in front of him, he grinned. “Her name is Bellatrix Lestrange, one of the most loyal followers of You-Know-Who. She’s locked up in Azkaban with the other psycho Death Eaters. If you think this Sirius Black guy is mad, who, by the way, is Bellatrix’s cousin, you should be lucky it’s not Lestrange’s face plastered all over the Daily Prophet.”
“Draco and Kyrie are both related to most violent murderers in Azkaban?” Hermione asked.
“Correct, Granger,” Fred smirked at the bushy haired girl. He felt a certain kind of satisfaction when he was able to tell her something she didn’t know. Hermione was one of the smartest witches at Hogwarts. There wasn’t much that she didn’t already know. “Bet you never get tired of hearing that.”
Hermione stuck her tongue out at the boy she considered to be like an older brother to her.
Harry’s brows furrowed and silently thought back to when he first met Kyrie Lestrange. It was when he first used floo powder to go to Diagon Alley to shop for this year’s books with the Weasleys. However, he somehow got rerouted to Borgin and Burkes in Knockturn Alley, and he had no idea of the kind of dangers that lurked in that dark corner.
Knockturn Alley was dark and filled with people who looked like they haven’t smiled or seen the light of day in ten years. Harry genuinely felt scared in that part of town and his fear seemed to attract the wizards and witches who lurked there…who also haven’t seen a bath in ten years either.
“Not lost are you are my dear,” A witch grabbed him by the collar, bringing him closer to her foul breath, her yellow teeth peeking out through her smirk. When he turned, he was cornered by five other witches and wizards. There was nowhere to run. That same witch grabbed his shoulder again. “Come with us. We’ll help you find your way back.”
“No,” Harry said weakly.
He felt like he was on the verge of a heart attack when he heard his name.
“Harry, I’ve been looking for you.” A girl around his age with pink streaks in her hair descended the stairs of the alley. Harry didn’t recognize her he but in that moment, he couldn’t care less. He saw the way the witches and wizards stepped away from him as she got closer. There was a glint of excitement in her eyes, like she knew the effect that she had on these ghastly people. “I know you bums having nothing better to do than prey on little kids but at least be more subtle about it.” She looked back at the boy with a smile. “Come on Harry. I saw a group of red heads this way.”
Harry swallowed but nodded enthusiastically. He had about a dozen questions but didn’t know which one to ask first.
When they were finally far enough away from the others, she said, “You know Harry, a boy like you stands out in Knockturn Alley. You should be more careful where you walk alone.”
“Who are you?”
The girl rolled her eyes playfully. “I think you mean to say ‘thank you.’”
“Right. Thanks.”
She grinned. “No problem. My name’s Kyrie.”
“Harry, but you already knew that.”
“Of course. Who in the wizarding world hasn’t heard of the infamous Harry Potter?” She said. Harry clenched his teeth. He was tired of everyone knowing who he was. He felt like a fish in fish bowl. “Look, we’ll keep this between us. Okay?”
“Why? You’re clearly a Slytherin,” Harry said, nodding towards the serpent embroidered on the notebook in her hands. “You know I’m in Gryffindor. You’re not going to tell anyone to embarrass me?”
“No, I won’t tell. Scouts honor,” Kyrie held up her hand. “Besides, I already have enough Gryffindors on my list to waste my time with. I don’t feel the need to add another one, honestly.”
“Harry!” A deep voice called from behind her. They both turned and found the friendly Giant, Hagrid, trudging over to them. They were still close enough to Knockturn Alley to cause suspicion and Hagrid was smarter than most people made him out to be. “What are you doing over here? You shouldn’t be here.”
“I got lost. I was just –“
“Harry saw me with those group of losers and noticed how uncomfortable I was, so he helped me out of there. That’s all,” Kyrie said.
Hagrid narrowed his eyes. “And what were you doing down there?”
“Window shopping,” She shrugged and winked at the Giant. “I should go. It was nice meeting you, Harry.”
Kyrie walked away.
Hagrid waited for her to disappear completely when Hagrid said, “You don’t want to be seen in Knockturn Alley, Harry. People will think you’re up to no good.”
“I was –“
“I know you didn’t find Kyrie, Harry. Kyrie found you. Isn’t that right?” Hagrid said. Harry looked at his shoes feeling embarrassed. “I know that girl better than she thinks I do. It doesn’t take much to scare her, especially not those kinds of people who hang out down there. It was sweet of her to try and convince me otherwise, though.”
Yeah, Harry thought, it was sweet.
Harry didn’t understand why the girl he met in Knockturn Alley sounded so different than the one the twins were describing now. Especially now that he knew she shared the same DNA as Draco Malfoy.
Despite his curiosity, he decided to keep his encounter with Kyrie Lestrange to himself. Today was a long day between traveling back to Hogwarts and trying to avoid the Dementors. The last thing he wanted to do was spend his time talking about the Slytherins.
Fred, however, noticed Harry’s blank gaze, clearly distracted by something running through his mind, and he couldn’t help but feel intrigued. “Where’d you just go, Harry?”
“Huh? Nowhere?” Harry hid his reddened cheeks in his hand.
“Are you gonna be okay, Harry?” Hermione asked, standing up.
Harry nodded.
“Come on, Fred. We’ve got a little more brainstorming to do. We don’t want our first week to be dull now, do we?” George said with a teasing smirk.
Lee laughed, clapping his hands in excitement, and the three of them disappeared into their dorms, where a list of pranks was already being comprised.
Fred and George walked into the dungeons where their Potions class was held every year. Most of their classmates were already seated with their choice in Potions partners, whispering softly amongst themselves.
George tapped Fred on the arm and pointed to two seats on the right-hand side of the classroom. They were in the third row, which for the twins, wasn’t ideal, but if they wanted to be partners, it was going to have to do. The only other option was the two seats on the left-hand side, but that’s where all the Slytherins were sitting, and they would rather stand for the entire lesson than be anywhere near those gits.
About a minute later, Kyrie Lestrange and her best friend Cedrella Copplestone walked in arm in arm. Fred couldn’t help but notice how most heads turned their way. The boys in the class smirked and bumped shoulders with one another while the girls either looked on with envy or intimidation.
It wasn’t any secret that Lestrange and her girl friends were some of the most attractive females in their year. Hell, possibly in the whole school. Like most of the boys here, Fred fell victim to trailing Lestrange’s legs up to her shorter-than-was-allowed skirt, images that he would never dare to share flashing through his head. He’s heard the crude comments other have made, which made Fred realize pretty early on that he wasn’t the only one with those images in his head.
But despite her extraordinary good looks, Lestrange was still…Lestrange. Conceited, bold, rude, manipulative, and provoking… And her friends were no different.
“Hey,” Cedric Diggory, a fifth year Hufflepuff, waved to Kyrie and Cedrella. “Over here.”
Kyrie smirked and sat in the aisle seat of the table next to Cedric’s and his partner, Justin Gilbert.
Fred and George scoffed at the interaction, mostly because they liked Cedric, and they didn’t want him falling into the trap of Kyrie Lestrange and her groupies.
“How was your summer?” Cedric asked her.
Kyrie leaned in closer with her elbows on her table. “Mundane.” She replied. She didn’t see her best friend roll her eyes behind her. “And yours? Practicing for quidditch I presume?” Her eyes scanned over Cedric’s upper body. His jawline was sharper, his hair longer, and his arms more toned. Cedric was older for his grade with his birthday falling on September 1st. The first day of school year. So he was already seventeen. And for some reason, that made him even more desirable to the Slytherin girl.
“Mundane, huh Lestrange?” Fred said from across the room, catching the attention of every other student in the class. He leaned back in the stool he was sitting with a smirk and his arms crossed. “I’d hardly find helping your Dear ‘Ol Uncle Black escape Azkaban mundane.”
Kyrie narrowed her eyes. “Weasley, you never seem to surprise me. Just when I thought your brain couldn’t be any smaller…”
“I mean it makes sense, doesn’t it?” Fred said, the faces around him turning from intrigued to apprehensive. “Why else would he escape if he didn’t already have a plan to reunite with his family and finish what he started – what with You-Know-Who’s name becoming a common topic of conversation again amongst your kind.”
“Maybe because it’s Azkaban, you git. No one wants to be there,” Kyrie retorted.
Fred’s smirk grew, knowing he was getting under her skin. “Well, you would know that better than anyone else, wouldn’t you, Lestrange?”
“Yeah, rumor has it you’re the first witch to be granted a visiting pass into Azkaban. Tell me, does she look as awful as her mug shot picture? Is she as crazy as everyone says?” George added earning a chuckle from Fred.
Fred watched Kyrie’s jaw sharpen as she clenched her teeth together. Next to her, Cedric kept his head down, avoiding looking at both the twins and Kyrie, suddenly finding the quill in front of him very fascinating. He was never one for confrontation unless absolutely necessary. Much like the rest of Hufflepuffs, he kept to himself, and avoided the ongoing feud between Gryffindors and Slytherins like the plague.
Cedrella leaned in closer to her best friend and glared at the ginger twins. “If her family was going to break anyone out of Azkaban, why would they start with Sirius and not her own mother?”
“Maybe that’s their next move,” A Gryffindor sitting behind the twins said.
“You better hope it’s not,” Cedrella said. “I heard Blood Traitors were her favorite –“
The Weasley twins jumped out of their seats, and Cedrella and Kyrie were quick to follow, stools scraping on the concrete floor. Instantly, the rest of the Gryffindors and Slytherin students stood at their desks. The houses were divided on opposite ends of the room. In the middle sat the Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaw students, who looked around warily, unsure if they should get out of the way or stay seated.
Fred felt his blood boiling under his pale skin, his hand reaching for his wand in his pocket. He was used to Slytherins using his family against him, but it was mostly about their lack of money or his father’s obsession with muggle objects and inventions.
It was hard to get a reaction like this out of the twins, but when threats are made against their family…they’re ready to become lethal.
Cedric was the first non Gryffindor or Slytherin to stand. He turned to face Kyrie and lightly placed a hand on her arm, “Don’t. It’s not worth it.” He looked down and saw how white her knuckles were around her wand.
“Sit. Down. Now,” A deep voice vibrated from the back of the room. No one moved an inch and no one took their eyes off the opposing house. “I said now!” White light flashed in the dark room and an abrupt force pushed the students in their seat, turning them forward.
The students grunted and rubbed their stomachs and backs to ease the sharp pressure they had just felt.
“Typical Gryffindors. Nothing but a bunch of big mouths,” Cedrella muttered.
Fred didn’t pay any attention to the lecture Professor Snape was giving about the importance of O.W.Ls and how he won’t accept anyone into Advance Potions next year without an Outstanding score. Instead, he was thinking of all the ways he was going to hex the Slytherins, focusing mostly on Lestrange and her friends. With the scowl on his brother’s face, Fred assumed George was thinking the same thing.
“For next lesson, I want a detailed written essay about the potion you would use against your enemy, why you would choose that one, and what will go wrong when you inevitably concoct it incorrectly,” Snape said in his nasally voice, already laced with disappointment on the first day.
At the mention of the word enemy, Kyrie and Fred looked up at each other, eyes narrowed in a glare. Then, a small grin tugged on the corners of Kyrie’s face and she had the audacity to wink at him, because she knew exactly what to do to drive him mad with irritation, always acting like she had the upper hand in their confrontations, pretending like she couldn’t be bothered by the insults that were constantly being thrown her way.
And it worked every time.
“Class dismissed,” Snape said.
Fred didn’t even bother placing his books back into his bag. He just scooped everything into his arms, prepared to confront Lestrange again before she could disappear into the Slytherin Common Room, but Snape’s voice stopped him.
“Miss Lestrange. A moment.”
Fred glanced back at her, but the confusion written on her face made it clear that even Kyrie didn’t have an idea what it was that Snape wanted to discuss. She whispered something to her best friend, who walked out with a couple of other Slytherin students.
“C’mon,” George said. “She’s not worth it.”
George looked her up and down in disgust as Kyrie passed them to meet Snape at his desk. Fred nodded and followed his brother out.
Fred and George spent their night hexing the bathrooms near the Slytherin Common Room, causing the toilets to explode right before curfew. It wasn’t their most creative prank. In fact, they’ve done it once before in their first year at Hogwarts. But they were both so angry after Potions that it was the best they could come up with on such short notice.
Despite their successful prank, Fred was still feeling sour after his encounter with the Slytherins during Potions. The threat Cedrella made still didn’t sit right with him, and Kyrie…Merlin he hated Kyrie. She was a self-absorbed cruel little brat. With her attitude, she was destined to take just after her mother – maybe even follow in her footsteps and share a cell in Azkaban.
“Look, she’s not worth all this energy, mate,” Lee said as they hung out in their dorms. “If you’re going to think about her this much, at least think of her…naked or something. Now, that doesn’t seem like a waste of time.”
Fred pulled his pillow out from under his head and chucked it at his best friend.
“Not including the naked thing…” George said, walking from his desk to sit on the edge of his own bed, “but Lee is right. You can’t let her ruin our fifth year – at least not within the first week.”
“She threatened our family, George,” Fred sat up, glaring at his brother.
“Cedrella threatened our family with Bellatrix.”
“You’re seriously washing this over with semantics?”
“Of course not,” George said. “For all we know, Kyrie is gonna grow up to be just like her mother. But that girl is a lame excuse to attend all your thoughts to.”
“Unless you’re picturing her naked,” Lee said.
George closed his eyes and dropped his chin to his chest.
Fred rolled his eyes. “What do you supposed Snape wanted to talk to her about, anyway?”
“He was probably telling her what to write her essay on. Everyone knows Snape gives extra attention to the Slytherins,” George said with a shrug.
The Well-Traveled Sage
Hermione x Draco | @hp-yuletide-bliss Day 19: “Oh. Hey. What are you doing here?” | WC 2523 | Rating: M
Hermione pivoted in a slow spiral, beaming at her holiday decorations and patting herself on the back. They’d been up for a couple of weeks now, but she’d gone for a little more effort the day before Christmas for last-minute shoppers that were bound to come scrambling in the door as they usually did.
It wasn’t much, but it was hers: a new and used bookshop she’d dubbed The Well-Traveled Sage. While Hermione did adore new books, there wasn’t quite anything like cracking open an aged tome and inhaling its memories and experiences.
She’d even snagged a delightful older witch by the name of Marina Birchen to spot the kiosk Hermione had built into the front corner of the store overlooking Diagon Alley. Offering coffee, tea, and simple sandwiches, Sage enticed readers and peckish passers-by alike.
Her Christmas decorations had done the same; the numbers from the past month were a testament to that. She’d charmed her wrought-iron sign with multi-coloured lights that caught the eye all the way from the Leaky’s brick entrance. As they drew closer, people were treated to more lights bordering a window display that not only featured those within reading their books and drinking their tea, but added a filter that cast them in a different festive setting each day. Today, it would be one of her childhood favorites, the Isle of Misfit Toys. Those looking in would see patrons dressed up like nutcrackers, plush toys, and elves. Yesterday, it had been an Ice Kingdom with frozen flooring and furniture, each patron seemingly adorned in layers of frost, their hair and eyelashes sparkling white.
Subtle festive instrumentals played in the background upon entering. While Hermione loved carols, it would not do for overly loud music to distract customers from what mattered most. She wanted them to browse uninterrupted, to come up to her with questions that she could easily discuss without having to project her voice over another one of Celestina Warbeck’s hits.
Her extra touch today would be Patronus-like apparitions shaped like her otter playfully rolling and jumping over one another just outside her storefront before tucking tail and running for the door, only to vanish and repeat their performance. So focused was she on admiring her charmwork that she didn’t notice she now had an audience.
“Fancy.”
“Oh!” Hermione spun so quickly at the familiar voice that she found herself slipping on the patch of ice she hadn’t yet gotten to removing.
She braced herself for impact, eyes squeezing shut.
Warm arms wrapped around her and hoisted her back onto her feet. She opened her eyes to stare straight up into the bemused face of Draco Malfoy.
He didn’t let go of her straight away, as she would have expected. They stood there puffing out clouds and noses pink in the chill morning air. Without even thinking, her fingers curled where the rested against his chest in search for heat in the thick wool.
“You alright there, Granger?” he asked, his voice low and lilting in amusement.
It was one thing for her childhood nemesis to save her from falling flat on her arse, but quite another for him to hold onto her and check on her wellbeing. She was tempted to scoff and shove him away for the sheer cheek of hugging her so closely.
Except he smelled really, really good.
She couldn’t stop her eyes from fluttering shut once more and taking a deep inhale.
Pine needles. Cedarwood. Some kind of combination of vanilla and cinnamon.
“How dare you smell so good, Malfoy.” She said it without opening her eyes, still luxuriating in the olfactory embrace.
It was his huff that coaxed them open. One white blond eyebrow arched along with the slanted smile on his lips. “I apologize for offending you so.”
Still the absence of any sort of malice or distaste. If anything, he looked amused.
How odd.
“Right then.” She finally stepped back and he slowly let go, almost as if he were worried she would slip yet again. “Thank you for catching me.”
He eyeballed the ground at their feet. “We should probably get rid of this, don’t you think?”
Without even being asked to, he pulled out his wand and began swirling it around in the familiar strokes of vanishing the instrument of her near-demise. She joined in and, together, they cleared the entire section of cobblestone mere minutes.
“Don’t worry about the rest; cleaners will come by and take care of it before most of the shoppers arrive. I just like to get a head start,” Hermione instructed. She turned to look at him now that their work was complete.
The wizard just had to go and look just as fine as he smelled.
The wool cloak to which she’d clung barely even scratched the surface of his devastating masculinity. Draco Malfoy had grown up.
Gone was the youth of her more recent memories. While he’d never suffered the half-starved look she and the boys had gotten over the year on the run, she distinctly remembered Malfoy’s slender frame and how he looked like he could have been blown over by a gust of wind. He’d looked even worse when she testified for him before the Wizengamot, chained as he was to the chair in the center of the room. She’d been pleasantly surprised at the thank you letter she’d received from him not a month later when he’d been released to one year of house arrest followed by three in service to the Ministry.
Now he towered above her with broad shoulders and a distinctly solid look to him.
“My, you are tall.”
The sound that spilled from his lips was so thoroughly unexpected that it took a moment for Hermione to realize that he was chuckling. It wasn’t that she hadn’t ever heard him laugh in all their years as students, but the delightful sound had certainly never been directed at her in such a warm tone that made her feel a part of the experience rather than its victim.
“It helps that I don’t have a reason to slouch anymore. Also, you are short.”
She must have made some expression of indignation because that chuckle was back in more force and if they hadn’t just cleared all the ice she might have been concerned he’d lose his balance.
“I’ll have you know that I am of average height for the average British woman. You are far above the average for the average British man. What are you even doing here this early in the morning, anyway?”
He raised a brow, whether that was at her vehement defense of her (average) height, or due to her swift transition, she couldn’t say. Perhaps, it was both.
“Well,” he said in a measured pace, “I suppose I’m here aiming to do exactly what a business owner like yourself would hope for on Christmas Eve.”
Before he could continue, she grinned. “Who’d you forget to get a gift for, Malfoy?”
This time, it was his turn to look chagrined. It brought her a strange modicum of comfort in its familiarity to that tone he’d get as a kid when someone didn’t acknowledge his family name. He was still Malfoy, no matter how attractive she now found him.
“I did not forget so much as I was forcefully put into a position of obligatory exchange.”
He almost growled at the explanation, teeth snapping shut and withholding the name of his ire.
“Well, in that case, follow me. You look like you could use a cuppa.”
She spun on her heel, smugly noting that this time there was no chance of her falling, and walked through her door without looking back.
He followed her, of course.
Once he’d been served a cup of Earl Grey, he stared at her rather than sip from the perfectly-brewed beverage. “Hm. Theo was right.”
“What about Theo?” She looked back at him curiously.
Unlike with Malfoy, Hermione had remained in touch with Theo Nott, or, more accurately, she had finally gotten to know him. Because, unlike when they were students and had ignored one another for still unknown reasons, they finally had occasion to speak. Gone were the House divides and meddling peers. There was simply her shop, the books, and a shared passion for literature.
Theo, it turned out, was a man of impeccable and varied tastes.
The first time he’d come around, Hermione had been justifiably suspicious. He’d never given her undue grief, that was for certain, but he certainly had never bothered to stop Malfoy and his cronies from bullying her. On occasion, he’d even joined in on the laughter.
Perhaps the changes in his attitude were signs of her current predicament with Draco Malfoy. Then, like now, she’d been completely thrown off course when the curly-haired swot (because yes, as a swot, herself, she was allowed to call out one of her own) marched up to the check-out desk to demand audience with the “owner of this establishment.”
Once he realized that he was already speaking with her, he tore into Hermione with a ferocity that would have had Madam Pince glowing with pride.
The grievance?
She’d slotted Widdle’s Modern Applications of Ancient Arithmancy next to Wideman’s Ancient Applications of Misunderstood Arithmancy.
Alphabetical organization aside, her error had been in assuming that the two belonged in the same section of Arithmancy—according to Theo, the latter was obviously a Divination text.
Upon further inspection, she’d been forced to agree with him.
Thus began a mutually beneficial friendship based on a shared fascination in far more fields of interest than Hermione would have ever expected from the former Slytherin. She’d always known Theo was intelligent, but he must’ve gone to some lengths to hide the full extent of their commonalities for unknown reasons.
Might Malfoy intrigue her in a different way?
“He told me I’d find what I needed here. With you.”
He stared unblinking at her, grey eyes bright in curiosity. Hermione willed herself not to look away.
What did that even mean, that he’d find whatever he needed from her? What was Theo up to?
Drawing herself up as tall as her stature would allow, Hermione endeavored to discover just that.
“What is it that you’re looking for?”
“I was hoping you could tell me.”
“Surely you have some idea already? This is a bookstore, with books.” Circe, did she sound as annoying as she felt? Damn, Theo, and his mysterious intentions.
“Well, I already have a lot of books, an entire library of them, in fact.”
Ah, yes, she knew of the Malfoy Library. It was legendary among booksellers and readers alike. Untold numbers of priceless volumes supposedly filled its shelves and most would give an organ, or perhaps their first-born child, to spend even fifteen minutes in the esteemed collection.
“But you’re not shopping for yourself, are you? Isn’t this a last-minute gift? What if they want books?”
He nodded slowly, still staring down at her, his expression unreadable. “That’s true,” he mused, “though I would think they’d be more delighted in a first edition.”
Now she was annoyed.
“Alright, Malfoy, spill. Who is it? Maybe if I know them I can help pinpoint where we can start looking.”
He hesitated for a moment, which only served to burn her curiosity even brighter.
“It’s for Millicent Bulstrode.”
Hermione’s first instinct was disappointment. His gifttee was a witch. Then, she was forced to confront that feeling. Why was she disappointed? Surely she hadn’t hoped his reasoning some ploy to capture her attentions…had she?
Her second instinct was a direct result of the witch’s name. Millicent. Bulstrode. Another former bully, but, thanks to Theo, another connection that was quickly becoming frightening in its fast familiarity. The signs had been there all along with Hermione’s unfortunate introduction sans Millicent’s knowledge to their love for cats. Not only did they hold fast to their feline companions, but they were coincidentally both active writers in the Gilderoy Lockhart Fanfic Forums.
Oh, how they’d squealed in filthy glee once they learned each others’ handles and gushed on about how much they loved the others’ works. Sure, the genuine article of man was a hankerchief stain on humanity and currently waxing poetic to anyone who would listen to him in St. Mungo’s. But! His works, lies, yes, thoroughly exaggerated, yes, but ripe with opportunity for elaboration and extrapolation and whatever other ‘e’ word (dare she say it?) they could concoct together.
“I’m afraid to ask now.”
Malfoy looked at her warily, almost leaning backwards from the look on her face. She didn’t have a mirror anywhere nearby, but she suspected she looked some combination of gleeful and debauched.
“Mills, huh? I know just what she’ll like.”
They had, in fact, talked about inspirational material earlier that week.
The sound that emerged from Malfoy’s throat when she turned down the Poetry aisle and stopped in front of one specific shelf defied description.
Sod it.
It came somewhat close to the pathetic noise he’d made when he’d been righteously scratched by Buckbeak all those years ago. She peeked furtively through the corner of her eye, but didn’t see any blood. So, emotional distress, it was.
“I, uh, still don’t see why Theo sent me here. We do have poetry in our library…” his voice trailed off as he brought his face close to one particular shelf, eyes nearly bugging out of his head. “This cover shouldn’t be displayed openly.”
He gestured towards a copy of Kim Adinnizio’s “What Is This Thing Called Love?” Hermione thought the teal sepia photo cover tasteful.
“What? Do you have something against women in knickers?” Face hidden, the woman lingered in a bedroom next to a reclining man, the implications clear. It really was modest considering the contents.
“No, but,” his face bloomed as he continued to look on, “I don’t think I can look Millie in the face and give this to her.”
“Oh, now you have to buy this, along with this one, and this one, ooh! This, as well.”
He looked comical holding a tower of books. She didn’t bother telling him she normally made sure patrons had baskets with feather-light charms; she found she liked seeing the way his arms naturally bulged beneath his sleeves.
“Well, if you’re certain…” Malfoy craned his neck to peek at the spines.
“There’s a healthy mixture of poets there that will have Mills crowing with pleasure for the veritable future. Trust me, she’ll love it.”
His attention back on her, she warmed at the way his hooded gaze dropped to her lips, then scanned boldly down her figure before flicking back up to her eyes.
“I take it that if you know her preferences, that you share some of them?”
Oh, Theo. You damnable, lovable darling.
“Witches never tell.”
He cocked his head and stepped closer. “What if I ask very nicely? Perhaps, over a bottle of my finest in the company of an exceedingly rare book collection?”
Well, there went her knickers.
“Let me ring you up. I get off at 6.”
And maybe, just maybe, she’d get off again Christmas morning.
Cross-posted on Tumblr and AO3.
I wrote this on the plane between WA and NY in a fit of inspiration and ended up finishing it up while we waited in Newark Airport waiting for our ride that was stuck in the Holland Tunnel for about 2 hours due to an earlier collision. Who knew I had it in me to write with so many distractions! There was a woman yelling into her phone about her dastardly family staying at the Waldorf and where the hell was her private jet, and then there as an elderly lady who had mistakenly called two different car services and trying to figure out how to cancel the second after the first found her wearing a sign with her name. Chaos!
I’ll be on vacation for the next week so my updates will likely be spotty, but DO enjoy yourself this holiday :) I’ll still try to update whenever I can!
OUTSIDER (1) || Rabastan Lestrange WTM
Series Synopsis: When the truth comes out about the future inside the walls of Hogwarts, on the first night back in 1977, what will happen for those involved with the chaos that ensued?
Secrets outed, Lies revealed and true intentions determined.
Pairing: Rabastan Lestrange x Fem!Regulus Black
Notes: Watching the movies, first post on tumblr so still figuring out how to use it (if you have any tips please feel free to share!), originally posted to my Wattpad: @MARV0L0
𝐀𝐓𝐋𝐀𝐒 𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐕𝐔𝐒 𝐋𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐄 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐒𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐂𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐀𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐋𝐄𝐒𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐄 𝐌𝐀𝐍𝐎𝐑, packing his bags before he moved in with his small group of friends, to start fresh after the mighty Wizarding War. His father, Rabastan Lestrange, had been caught by some Auras just after the battle had taken place, he would be sitting in a damp, dreary cell in Azkaban for the second time.
While his mother, well, he didn't know much about his mother, not anything really. Most people who had known his mother had been dumped in Azkaban before he could even talk, when they finally escaped they were to far gone in the head to even remember her.
He had been living with the Malfoys' for most of his life, he had questioned his mothers whereabouts to them when he was younger but the only response he got was from Narcissa, saying she would tell him when he was older, then, between becoming a Death Eater and the war, there wasn't much time.
Himself and his friends had had a trial in front of the wizengamot just after the war as the Dark Mark was branded on their left forearms. Thankfully, they had been helping the Golden Trio fight against the Dark Lord since fifth Year, so Atlas, Draco Malfoy, Theo Nott and Daphne Greengrass had the boy-who-conquered to back them during their trials. They had their wands taken for a year and were on house arrest for the same time instead of joining their parents cells in Azkaban.
The Lestrange boy was looking through the shelves in the family library to see if there was anything worth taking, while his friends did the same. Just as he moved an old Dark Arts book a peace of crumpled parchment fell to the carpeted floor, bending down to pick it up, the others joined him to see his discovery.
"What's that?" Ron asked gesturing towards the stained parchment. Atlas only shrugged before unfolding the letter, he scanned over the cursive handwriting, tears pooling in his stormy, grey eyes. By the time he had finished reading salty tears were rolling down his cheeks before falling from his chin meeting the, already, tear stained parchment.
He felt a hand come to rest on his shoulder giving him some sort comfort, he passed the note blindly to the group so they could see what had made him so emotional.
December 30th 1979
To my dear son, Atlas
The letter started, the group of six shared bewildered glances.
I am writing to you under unfortunate circumstances, I have been researching about Dark Lord Voldemort as I want you to grow up in a better world than I did. I am going on a mission to destroy one of the relics that is keeping the creature alive, sadly, I do not think I will make it back home to you and your father.
I do not regret sacrificing myself to rid the world of that terrible man, the only thing I do regret is not being able to watch you grow into the handsome, strong young man I know you will be. You look a lot like your father already but your eyes are the Black family eyes, my eyes.
Know one thing mon étoile, wherever your life takes you, be it good or bad, Light or Dark, I will always love you and keep you close to my heart.
The best wishes for your future,
Your mother,
Regulus Arcturus Black
The group of seven stood in a sombre silence, only the quiet sounds of sniffling coming from the Lestrange boy. Hermione Granger stood between Ron Weasley and Daphne Greengrass, a contemplative expression gracing her features, many people were lost in the war and some, such as Harry and Atlas, hadn't even been able to meet their parents while others family members were to insane to get to know.
She was raking her brain for an answer to her silent question, what if there was a way to go back, to prevent the atrocity of the first wizarding war? Suddenly her head shot up, she had gotten a job at the Ministry of Magic as soon as she could, to keep her mind of the loss she had witnessed, she had overheard a conversation between two unspeakables about time manipulation.
Those in the library turned to face her while she explained her theory.
"The department of mysteries has a time room, its a part of the department that studies the laws of time. I heard a few weeks ago a conversation between a few unspeakables, they had created a device that could send Magicals to anywhere in time they chose." Hermione explained watching as many emotions passed through the groups features.
Harry urged her to continue.
"What if we compiled are memories and go back in time to when your parents were in Hogwarts, show them the memories to prevent the first war and by doing that, preventing the second wizarding war." Granger concluded.
"I don't know 'mione, we could get hurt, die even." Draco said after he thought about the pros and cons.
"We have almost died in every year of school, if this doesn't work then it doesn't work, but if it does we could save most of the Wizarding community." Hermione replied firmly. The others seemed to think about it her way, they all shared a look before nodding in determination.
They were going back in time.
2 | Your House
Series: Little Things
Paring: Mattheo Riddle x OFC Potter!
Word Count: 2.2k
A/N: Might be a few mistakes
| MASTERLIST |
"Blimey, is that the time? Sorry. I'm gonna have to leave you both. Dumbledore will be wantin his, uh... well, he'll be wantin to see me. Now, your train leaves in 10 minutes. Here's your ticket. Stick to it. That's very important. Stick to your ticket." Hagrid hands us our tickets so we look at them.
"Platform 9 3/4? Umm Hagrid... there's no such thing as this platform." I look up and he was gone. "Now what?" I ask Harry.
"Guess we find the platform." He says and we go on our way to look for the platform.
"There is no such thing, Harry." I say as I see no platform 9 3/4.
"Excuse me, Sir." Harry goes over to a man to ask for help but he thinks we are joking.
"It's the same every year packed with Muggles, of course. Come on." We hear a lady so we go follow her and her family.
We watch as one by one run into one of the pillars and no one takes notice to it happening. Harry and I go over asking how did they do that.
"How to get into the platform? Not to worry dear, it's Ron's first time to Hogwarts as well. Now, all you've got to do is walk straight at the wall between platforms 9 and 10. Best do it at a bit of a run if you're nervous." The woman explains to us.
"I'll go first and wait on the other side for you." Harry tells me then runs through.
"Your turn dear." The woman smiles at me so I then run through.
"Wow." I say joining Harry, who nods his head.
On the train Harry and I find an empty cart and take a seat. "Excuse me, do you mind? Everywhere else is full." The red head from the platform, Ron asks us.
"Not at all." Harry tells him so he joins us.
"I'm Ron, by the way. Ron Weasley." He introduces himself.
"I'm Harry, I'm Hazel. Harry and Hazel Potter." We do the same.
"So-so it's true. I mean, do you really have the-the the scar." Ron asks Harry so he shows it.
When the trolley comes by Harry says we'll take the lot so we do. As they pig out and talk I just look out the window. "I'm gonna go for a walk." I get up leaving the car.
"Be back soon." Harry says as I walk out.
"Excuse me, have you seen a toad. A boy lost one." A girl asks as I walk down the train.
"Nope, sorry haven't seen one." I let her know. "I'm Hermione Granger." She introduces herself.
"Hazel Potter." I smile and her jaw drops.
"It's nice to meet you. Now, excuse me." She walks past me and I continue.
"Did I here you say you're a Potter?" A girl with a bob haircut pops out of a car.
"Yeah, you are?" I ask her.
"Pansy Parkinson." She puts a hand out so I shake it.
"Hazel Potter."
She smiles then pokes her head into the car she come out of, "Draco, It's one of the Potter Twins." She tells someone then pulls me in.
Inside there was two bigger boys sitting next to each and across from them was a bleach blonde boy.
"Wow, the Potter's at Hogwarts. I'm Malfoy, Draco Malfoy. This is Crabbe and Goyle." He introduces himself and his friends.
"Hello." I nod my head at them. "I should go change into my robes." I back out of the cart.
"Hopefully we end up in the same house." Pansy smiles as I leave.
"You're back." Harry smiles as I join them again and get my robes to go change into.
When we get off the train all of us students are met with Hagrid. "Hello, Harry, Hazel." Hagrid tells us so we say hey back to him.
Hagrid leads all of us to the boats towards the school. It was just an amazing sight to see. Once inside we are met with an older lady who tells us about being sorted into our houses. "They are Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin." She names them then explains that our houses will be like our families.
"Trevor!" A boy shouts grabbing his toad making some of us giggle.
"I still can't believe it's true. The Potter twins have come to Hogwarts." We look over to see Draco and others gasp. "This is Crabbe and Goyle... And I'm Malfoy. Draco Malfoy." He introduces himself to Harry this time and Ron snickers. "Think my name's funny, do you? No need to ask you yours. Red hair and a hand me down robe? You must be a Weasley." Draco glares at him and it makes me mad. "Soon you will realize that some Wizarding families are better than others, Potter. You don't want to go making friends with the wrong sort. I can help you there." Draco puts a hand out.
"I think I can tell the wrong sort for myself, thanks." Harry tells him making me giggle and get a dirty look too.
When she comes back we are escorted into the great hall. Dumbledore gives a few reminders before we start the sorting.
"There's not a Witch or Wizard who went bad who wasn't in Slytherin." Ron tells Harry and me.
"Harry Potter." He looks at me.
"You'll be fine." I pat his back as he goes.
"Hmm. Difficult, very difficult. Plenty of courage, I see. Not a bad mind either. There's talent- oh, yes- and a thirst to prove yourself. But where to put you? Not Slytherin, eh? Are you sure? You could be great, you know. It's all here in your head. And Slytherin will help you on the way to greatness. There's no doubt about that. No? Well, if you're sure... better be... Gryffindor!" The sorting hat shouts.
"Hazel Potter." I'm called up so I take a seat.
"Ahh difficult just like your brother. Very very difficult. You have courage and determination but your ambition with your determination. Where to put you?" The hat thinks.
To be honest I didn't care if I really got Slytherin but part of me didn't only because of what Ron said and I didn't want to lose Harry.
"Well, lets see what happens with a Potter in... Slytherin!" Only Slytherin's cheer and a teacher.
Harry looks at me upset then gives me a smile, "You will be fine."
As I take a seat Pansy pats my back giving me a smile, "We have a Potter." Draco eyes me then rolls his eyes.
While I eat I stay quiet watching Harry chat away. "Wish you were with your brother?" A girl across me asks.
"Well yeah... he's my brother. We're pretty close." I say eating my food.
"Well if you're pretty close your relationship shouldn't change because the house you got put in. I'm Willow." She gives me a smile.
"Nice to meet you Willow." I smile back.
"Oh and this is my best friend Sienna." She motions to the girl next to her.
"Hi, and this is my brother Lorenzo but he prefers Enzo." She rolls her eyes and he hits her.
"It's shorter." He huffs.
"I do the same thing. I use Theo instead of Theodore. Also hi, I'm Theo Nott." A boy next to him says.
"You all know my name." I laugh and so do they.
"Of course we do. Everyone knows the Potters." Theo chuckles.
"The twins that lived." Enzo adds.
"Technically Harry survived the curse... I died first but then came back." I let know know.
"How is that possible?" Willow asks confused with everyone else.
"I don't know. I was just told the other day and they couldn't explain it either." I shrug my shoulders looking away and see a boy with his head down playing with his food.
"He's weird... We all introduced ourselves and he just stared at us." Pansy looks at who I was looking at.
"Maybe he nervous and scared to meet new people." I say as we keep eating.
I get to know everyone a little more and they were nice but at the same time I couldn't stand them because hearing their beliefs about pureblood wizards made me uncomfortable.
After dinner we are escorted to our common room and are told about our password to get in then go to our dorms. My dorm mates were Pansy, Willow, Sienna, and a girl named Daphne.
"I gotta ask... How do you feel about the password being pureblood when you aren't?" Pansy asks me.
"This might ruin the mood but I find it stupid. The whole purebloods being better." I say making the girls look at me.
"We can still be friends if we just ignore our different beliefs." She gets ready for bed and I go down to the common room.
I see the boy that was quite at dinner sitting alone so I walk over to him. "Hi, I'm Hazel, Hazel Potter but you probably knew that." I put a hand out and he just looks at it. "You're not used to making friends? I'm not. I grew up living in a closet being treated badly." I take a seat at the table with him.
"The family I live with told me to just keep my head down and stay quiet." He tells me.
"If you don't mind me asking... What happened to your parents?" I ask him.
"My father is dead and my mother is in Azkaban." He looks at the table.
"I'm sorry... I know how it is growing up with no parents since both of my are dead. But the family you grew up with shouldn't tell you not to make friends. If you ever need a friend, I'll be there." I smile getting up.
"Name's Mattheo. Mattheo Riddle." He tells me.
"Goodnight Mattheo." I go back to my dorm to go to bed.
-
The next morning I get dressed for the day and make sure I have everything in gonna need for all my classes. "Hey about last night... Me and Sienna don't care for the whole purebloods are better thing as well. I think we're the only pureblood Slytherin's that disagree with that belief." Willow tells me.
"My brother on the other hand does believe it. We are all raised that way because of our parents but we know different." Sienna adds before we all go to the common room.
"Morning." I smile to Mattheo as we pass him.
"Morning." He smiles back. "You got the quite boy to talk to you last night?" Pansy joins us. "Yeah." I say as we all head to class. First thing we had this morning was transfiguration. As we were working Harry and Ron rush in late. They said they got lost so she told them they should get a map.
"Really Harry, the first day?"
Harry looks back at me and glares, Do you know how far the Gryffindor room is. You would've been lost too. He turns back around.
As we all walk to our next class, which was potions, I walk with Ron and Harry. "How is it being a Slytherin?" Harry asks.
"Not terrible just the others... Pureblood this, pureblood that." I huff.
"But you're not a pureblood." Ron looks at us and I nod my head. "You remember how I said about no good comes out of Slytherin? Well... I don't think you will go bad. I mean why would you go to a bad side that killed your parents?" Ron says then realizes how he said that. "I didn't mean it that way. I rant at times." He pouts.
"It's okay, Ron." I laugh at him.
"Why do you only have red hair?" Ron asks me.
"Our Aunt Petunia says I take after our mother. So I guess Harry takes after our father." I nod my head.
"You look nice with red hair." Ron smiles making me smile too while Harry gives him a look.
As we walk I see Mattheo glance back at us. "Who is that?" Harry asks.
"Mattheo. I'm the first person he's talk to." I tell them as we enter the classroom and Pansy pulls me over to sit with her and the girls.
"There will be no foolish wand waving or silly incantations in this class. As such, I don't expect many of you to appreciate the subtle science and exact art that is potion making. However, for those select few... who possess the prediction... I can teach you how to bewitch the mind and ensnare the senses. I can tell you how to bottle fame, brew glory, and even put a stopper in death. Then again, maybe some of you have come to Hogwarts in possession of abilities of formidable that you feel confident enough to not pay attention." I see Snape glaring at Harry.
"Mr. Potter. Our new celebrity... along with his sister." He looks at him then glances at me before narrowing his eyes in Harry again. He then starts to quiz him and Harry has no clue because we know nothing about this world. "Miss Potter, did you know any of that?" Snape turns to me.
"No Professor." I shake my head.
"Why not?" He asks.
"Harry and I grew up knowing nothing about the wizarding world. Our Aunt and Uncle keep it a secret from us." I tell him the truth before he starts the class.
UNNAMED DRACO X OC FIC CHAPTER 2
CHAPTER TWO : THE TEA PARTY
"One second, did you just say you're having a tea party with Narcissa Malfoy?" Hermione furrowed her eyebrows as she watched her sister run her hand through her dark brown hair. The sentence alone made all of the girls let out an incredulous giggle at the thought.
"Seriously Rory, how do you manage to get yourself in these situations?" Ginny couldn't help but let the snort leave her nose as she laughed. The thought of Aurora having to sit across from her school bully's mother and discuss muggle literature over little cakes and cups of tea was enough to make Ginny let out a cackle. This made those also walking down Diagon Alley glance back at the trio of women.
"Yes, laugh it up guys. My life is just a bloody comedy at this point." She chuckled along with the girls, though internally was panicking majorly for the afternoon ahead. I think anyone in their right mind would be anxious about it. After all, this was Narcissa Malfoy! Her last name itself was a red flag.
"It's going to be fine, I've got my notes in my bag with me. I'll just have one tea, talk a little then make an excuse as to why I have to leave." Hermione shook her head, her unruly curls following her movements. Hermione was the more headstrong sister, hence why she was a Gryffindor through and through. She would of been brave enough to deny Narcissa's offer straight away. But it just wasn't in Aurora's nature to disappoint people. Mrs Malfoy probably just wanted some company that wasn't a stuck up elitist.
"Good luck with that. We both know you'll be stuck there for 2 hours and probably roped into going there twice a week." Ginny spoke, to which Hermione nodded rapidly.
"She's not wrong Rory, you're accident prone. And what if - Godric forbid - Malfoy turns up? Then what?" Hermione shuddered at the thought of their school bully. The idea put a deep carven in between Auroras brows as they knitted together. She hadn't even thought of that. What if Draco did in fact turn up? How would he react to his mother sitting in her company? Sitting with a 'Mudblood' as he had previously taunted her with. Would he kick off? Or simply just ignore her all together?
These thoughts made her stop in her tracks, leading to the two girls stopping and staring back at her. The wizards and witches walking around them glared at the rudeness of stopping in the middle of a packed street, though the Gryffindors didn't care to move and Aurora was spiralling too far to notice. "I hadn't thought of that." She mumbled, mainly to herself. The girls rolled their eyes in unison.
"Why am I not surprised?" Hermione tutted, walking forward and gripping her sisters hand to bring her back from the rabbit hole her mind was falling into. "It's not too late to cancel Rory." The shorter Granger snapped her eyes to her older sister, her head shaking frantically.
"Of course it's too bloody late to cancel! Oh Merlin, how do I always manage this shit?" Aurora cursed herself, her palm hitting her forehead. Ginny grabbed her hand and lowered it to minimise the strange looks they were receiving.
"You'll be fine. Get in, get out." Ginny spoke like a Sargent of the army, her hard blue stare empowering the Hufflepuff woman.
"You're right. It surely can't be that bad... right?" Ginny and Hermione have her slightly anxious looks, though continued giving her a pep talk until the time arrived for her to head to the manor.
Deciding apparating would be the most appropriate way to arrive led to her staring up at the daunting manor with fear stricken eyes. Although she attended therapy for all that she had experienced during the times of war, actually facing Malfoy Manor was something she hadn't thought through enough. The bold, tall, intimidating building glared down at her. She could practically hear it screaming 'Mudblood' at her before she had even started approaching it. Memories flashed behind her eyes. The drawing room in which Bellatrix had a 'girly chat' as she described it was the most present.
"I wish I was a bloody Gryffindor." She muttered to herself, willing for the universe to push some bravery into her bones, though her prayers weren't answered. She approached the brass knockers on top of the dark wooden door with trembling hands and what felt like a Cornish Pixie gnawing at her stomach lining.
Aurora took a deep breath, inhaling classic Hufflepuff positivity and exhaling all of the negative energy which encapsulated the building. She would get through this. After all, it was only tea and books. She could handle that.
She only had to knock once before a house elf had creaked open the door, peering round it with large green eyes. "Hello, I am Aurora Granger. I'm here to meet with Mrs Malfoy." Her voice somehow stood strong as it left her lips, a bright smile on her face. The elf nodded frantically, pushing open the heavy door with their weak arms. She worried their arm may snap off in the process, though knew better then try to help. These elves were Malfoy elves, and if Dobby was anything to go by, they didn't take kindness too well. She didn't want the poor creature concussed.
"Of course Miss Granger. Mippy will take you to Mrs Malfoy right away." The elf bowed before leading the way to Narcissa. Rory kept her eyes on her heeled feet to avoid pushing the memories this place gave her to the forefront of her mind. Though after walking for a couple of minutes, she entered a room she hadn't seen before.
One wall was entirely made of windows, including a completely transparent glass door which showcased the Malfoy estates garden well. Though garden was a horrid word to describe it. From what Aurora could see, it stretched on further then her eyes would allow her to behold. An extraordinary crystal chandelier hung from the ceiling and vases full of bright flowers adorned most of the flat surfaces in the room. Her eyes fell on the extravagant and sleek black grand piano which sat in the corner of the room, a clear vase of white peonies sat on top.
In the centre of the room sat Narcissa at a small glass table. She looked as elegant as ever with her black and white hair completely straight and down, though none fell into her face. She adorned a simple yet clearly expensive black dress with matching black stilettos. She smiled widely as her electric blue eyes fell onto Aurora.
"Good afternoon Aurora darling!" She rose from her seat to glide over to the young adult, immediately kissing both of her cheeks as a greeting. Aurora felt a little bit stunned at the sheer beauty of the room she was in, but managed to click back to reality.
"Good afternoon Mrs Malfoy. How are you today?" She was glad her voice didn't rattle at all as the words came out, yet also mildly surprised. Narcissa led her to the glass table where her copy of 'The Great Gatsby' sat, as well as another vase of peonies, though these ones ranged from a pale pink colour to a deep magenta. When Aurora visualised the manor, a room like this never even entered her wildest imagination. It felt comforting, yet completely regal. Much like Narcissa herself.
"I am well dear, extremely excited for our little chit chat. I couldn't tell you the last time I did something like this." Aurora held back a snort. Her brain automatically thinking: I doubt a Muggleborn had ever seen this room before.
"Mippy, could you please get the selection of food and drinks you have prepared?" The elf nodded rapidly once more before disapparating. Rory went into her handbag and pulled out her own beaten copy of the book, as well as a small brown notebook which contained all of the notes she had made about the novel.
"I can't tell you how glad I am you accepted my invitation." Narcissa placed her hand on top of Aurora's, making her eyes snap up out of her bag. Her cheeks burned at the solid eye contact Narcissa had no trouble maintaining. She cleared her throat subtly before responding.
"Of course, I honestly could talk books all day." She nervously laughed, thankful that Mrs Malfoy had removed her hand from her own. She felt entirely out of her depth in this place.
"My Draco is the same. He inherited my love for literature." Pure unfiltered pride radiated off of Narcissa whenever her son was mentioned, which warmed Auroras heart immensely. Of course, her opinion of the Malfoy heir was a sour one, but a mothers love was something that always brought a smile to her face. It made her miss her own mother.
"That's lovely Mrs Malfoy, shall we-" She was interrupted.
"Call me Narcissa darling. There's no need for such formalities." Mippy appeared once more, accompanied by a large wheeled tray of different afternoon tea style foods such as finger sandwiches with many different fillings, various cakes, scones with clotted cream and jam, as well as an assortment of french patisseries. An expensive china teapot and matching cups and saucers were also on the tray, a dainty milk jug and sugar cubes beside it.
"Thank you Mippy." Narcissa smiled at the elf, which bowed before leaving again. She stood and poured tea into the cups, asking how Aurora liked hers and even serving it to her. The Muggleborn wasn't too sure if this all was real at this point. It felt like a wild fever dream.
"I was thinking we could discuss any of our favourite quotes from the novel first?" Aurora sipped her tea, opening her notebook to reveal her scribbly writing. She never usually shared her thoughts of different literature with people, so the notes she made were messy yet extensive. Narcissa nodded, sipping her own tea and leaving a red stain from her lipstick which seemed to never smudge.
The two women spoke for a while, Aurora actually finding herself laughing at some jokes Narcissa made, as well as finding her thoughts extremely insightful. She was apprehensive to admit it, but she was genuinely enjoying herself.
"Let us take a break from the book for a moment." She placed the pastry she was consuming down onto her china plate and delicately wiped the edges of her mouth to rid any flakes being on her. Aurora was sure she didn't look as presentable as Narcissa did in this moment, but didn't particularly care.
"How is it that you, Aurora Granger, are simply a book shop clerk? If I remember correctly, you and your sister were always top of your classes at Hogwarts, along with my son of course. I'm sure you could have any occupation you desired." Something twinkled in her eyes, but Rory couldn't place what.
"When at Hogwarts I was studying to be an Auror, though recent event made me realise I didn't actually want to pursue that." She started, refusing to address the war. Narcissa nodded, intently listening to her words. "I think, in all honesty, I would like to teach Muggle Studies one day. I don't think the subject is given enough credit and to Pureblooded wizards, I believe learning the wonders of the Muggle world could be extremely interesting if given the chance." Her cheeks burned at her honesty, having never really admitted this to anyone before. The previous Muggle Studies teacher, Charity Burbage, flashed in her mind.
"Well why not go for it?" Although Narcissa was apart of two notoriously dark families, she gave off a very warm, motherly energy after a while. It was strange yet lovely at the same time.
"I can't afford to pay for the teaching course set since the war. Hence the book shop job. It pays the bills as well as a little extra to save for the course." It was slightly humiliating admitting to this clearly wealthy woman that she herself was having money struggles. Narcissa's features softened at this confession, but a noise outside caught both of the lady's attention.
"BLAISE ANTHONY ZAMBINI! GET YOUR ARSE BACK HERE NOW!" A woman seemed to screech from the Malfoy garden. The name used made the blood in Auroras veins freeze over. And that voice sounded awfully familiar.
A tall, stocky, dark skinned male tore open the door connecting the tea room with the garden and sprinted in. "Hide me Cissy!" The man squealed rather femininely, throwing himself under the piano without even looking at either of them. Narcissa giggled at the boy, her eyes watching as a woman rushed into the room similarly. Her onyx eyes darted around the room before they fell on Aurora, her glare softening to a confused stare.
"Uh— Hello." The queen of Slytherin herself awkwardly greeted the other two women, her eyes bouncing between them both before a small knock caught her attention. Her scowl returned as she stalked over to the piano and used her sleek wand to send a harmless jinx at the man underneath. He yelped, rushing out and holding his hands up in surrender. Finally, he recognised not only Narcissa was watching the scene unfold and his warm hazel eyes fell onto the Granger girl. He too looked equally as confused as the woman did before, both of them looking at each other before turning to Narcissa and Aurora.
"Blaise, aren't you going to greet my guest?" Narcissa smiled playfully at his perplexed look, making him reanimate back to life.
"Do I have brain damage from that Jinx, Pansy?" He spoke rather quietly. Pansy jabbed him in the side with her elbow at his stupidity. "I must have because I'm imagining Little Granger is sat drinking tea and eating cakes with Cissy. Now I know that can't be right." Aurora cleared her throat awkwardly as the door squeaked again. This time, two men entered, though they both froze in the doorway. At the front was the floppy brown haired and green eyed Theodore Nott. He was known for his charismatic personality all over Hogwarts. He too stared at Aurora and Narcissa as if they had grown three heads.
"Why stop in the bloody doorway you-" The gravely voice Aurora hadn't heard for about 3 years sounded, but quickly diminished upon seeing why Theodore stopped in his tracks.
Draco Lucius Malfoy stood in the doorway of his mothers tea room, his cold steel grey eyes boring into Aurora's warm chocolate hues. She noted how he had changed since she last saw him. He no longer looked plagued by the war as he did when it first ended. His face was less hollow, yet his cheekbones were still high and pronounced. His hair was still stark white, mainly pushed back (though not as aggressively as it was in their first and second year) barring the odd strand which fell over his forehead. He seemed slightly taller too, and more broad aswell. He clearly was no longer a boy, but now rather a man.
"I don't know what has gotten into you all this afternoon but could everyone stop staring at my guest as if she is an animal?" Narcissa broke the tension filled silence, a small tut leaving her mouth as she poured herself a fresh cup of tea. She once again served Aurora her tea, making the Slytherins even more confused.
"Mother." Draco stepped further into the room, his classic sneer settling onto his face as his eyes never left Aurora. It felt strangely nostalgic seeing the scowl settle onto his face as he approached their table. Almost as if they were all teenagers again. "Why in the name of Salazar are you sat with this-" Narcissa held up her hand, cutting off the insult that was about to fall out of her sons mouth. She stared at him and shook her head.
"For Merlin's sake Draco, do stop being so dramatic, would you? As I'm sure you are all fully aware, this is Aurora Granger. I invited her here today as she has been a great help recommending tremendous Muggle literature to me and I wished to discuss a specific novel with her in more detail." Mrs Malfoy spoke so nonchalantly, as if she was telling the room she was having a meal with someone she often was acquainted with. However, her words just led to the room being even more confused.
"I think I best be leaving anyways-" Once again, Narcissa cut off Aurora.
"Oh but I was greatly enjoying our talk! Perhaps you could come again during the week?" For fuck sake. Ginny was right.
"Again?! Mother, have you hit your head recently?" Draco spluttered, now tearing his eyes from Aurora to look at his mother. He didn't want to admit it but it was obvious Aurora Granger was no longer the small Hufflepuff girl he remembered her being. She had sprouted into a full fledged woman, with curves she didn't hold during school and her hair having grown to the bottom of her rib cage rather then the shoulder length bob she had the entirety of the time she spent at Hogwarts. Her lips were fuller, more pouty looking. Though her big chocolate eyes still had the same sparkle in them as he remembered glaring into for the majority of his teenage years. Eyes which made feelings of distaste spiral in his stomach.
"I—I wouldn't want to be a nuisance Narcissa." Aurora stood from her chair awkwardly, feeling extremely uncomfortable with all the eyes on her.
"Nonsense dear, my son here is just being silly. I think you'd even enjoy the afternoon we just had Draco if you wasn't so set in your ways. You know Aurora, he always has been awfully stubborn." Draco rolled his eyes and cursed under his breath. He couldn't believe the predicament he had currently found himself in.
"I'm so confused." Theo muttered as he made his way beside Pansy and Blaise, all three of them bouncing their sights between the other trio like they were watching a ping pong match. Aurora placed her notebook and beat up copy of The Great Gatsby into her handbag whilst Narcissa and Draco quietly argued between themselves. It ended rather quickly as Narcissa gave Draco a look which screamed 'do not push me right now'. He cracked his knuckles before sneering at Aurora once more, looking her up and down.
"Well didn't you say you should go?" He snapped, venom pouring from his mouth much like it did during school. Narcissa rounded the table and kissed both of her cheeks again, this time as a farewell.
"I apologise for my son. In fact, he can walk you to the door whilst he himself apologises." Narcissa smiled, turning to her son who glared menacingly at her. She, however, was not fazed. They had a silent staring match for a moment before he scoffed.
"This way, Granger." He sarcastically smiled at his mum before stalking to the door she entered from and walked through it. Aurora scrambled to follow, not wanting to be lost in the huge manor. She shouted a final goodbye over her shoulder before the door shut.
"What are you playing at Cissy?" Pansy asked, completely dumbfounded. Narcissa smirked at the trio who remained, a satisfactory glint in her blue hues.
"Don't you worry dear, I know what I'm doing." Was all she said before sending them a wink.
"Will you slow down? Godric sake Malfoy." Aurora panted trying to keep up with Dracos long strides. He abruptly halted, making her crash into his back and almost onto the floor. She caught herself in time to save her from the embarrassment.
"Listen to me and listen good Granger." Draco spun around and stood tall over her, much like he did during Hogwarts. His body easily towered over her own, casting her into the shadows of Malfoy Manor. She felt bile rising in her throat as being trapped in the hallway with the boy brought back memories she thought she had previously worked through.
"I'm not sure what you're playing at trying to suck my mother into your weird Muggle ways but you can fucking stop it. I thought I'd finally be able to exterminate you and your aggravating friends from my mind once the war ended." Aurora winced at his tone of voice, the mention of the war not helping. Her cheeks and ears burned, her throat had gone scratchy. She used to be accustomed to his menacing scowl and deep voice lashing out insult after insult, though she was no longer accustomed to such vile things.
"Trust me Malfoy, this whole thing wasn't my idea. You think I'd actively choose to be talking about muggle literature with your mother in this place!" Aurora jabbed her index finger into his hard chest. His features hardened, a sneer settling even deeper into his face.
"My mother? What's that supposed to mean, you filthy—." Draco cut himself off before the insult he constantly called her at school tumbled out. Rory was obviously stunned that he hadn't said it. He never missed an opportunity to call her it before.
"I'm genuinely shocked what a delight Narcissa is due to what a pompous arse you are. I guess like father like son." She gasped at her words, slapping her hand over her mouth as soon as it fell out of her lips. Sure, she didn't like Draco. Not in the slightest. But everyone in the wizarding community was aware of where Lucius Malfoy was now, as well as how evil that man truly was. Not even Draco deserved to be described as that callous man. "Malfoy, I'm sorry that—" He cut her off with a scoff, his grey eyes rolling as he did.
"Watch your mouth. I'm sure you remember what Lucius was capable of, do not make me show you the true meaning of 'like father like son'." He spat out, looking down his nose at the Hufflepuff girl. He held an intense fury behind his storm cloud eyes, to a point where Aurora could see lightning striking. She gulped slightly before nodding slowly. Draco backed up, cracking his neck with annoyance and setting off again towards the front door.
Both remained silent for the short walk, though both left the exchange feeling aggravated immensely.
hi hi ! i'm 24F and looking for some new roleplay partners. I usually roleplay on tumblr or on discord and only write with those who are 18 or older !
at the moment i'm open to either a harry potter, hunger games/tbosas rp or fandomless rps. oc x oc, canon x canon or canon x oc are all welcome ! i'd prefer to double up in terms of canon or m x f rps. this due to past experiences but also because i think it will incite more investment and motivation for the both of us. i'm open to mumu rps as well, as i love world building and creating a story with more characters involved.
i'm always looking to improve my writing and can write anywhere from 2 to 3 paragraphs or more, depending on my muse and interest. I usually try to match the length of my partner where i can and try to give everything my best shot. due to personal reasons my reply speed is slower than average, so i'm looking for someone patient. however i'll definitely let you know when i'm going to be away or can't reply for a while. i love talking ooc and coming up with plots and headcanons together !
below i've listed the canon characters i'm willing to rp, as well some of the dynamics i'm looking for. my default is mostly m x f, but i'm open to f x f as well.
harry potter.
characters ; draco malfoy, hermione granger, astoria greengrass, ominis gaunt (hogwarts legacy), and am willing to try my hand at a few other characters, feel free to ask. i'd love to rp any original characters set in the golden trio era, tom riddle era, or anywhere in between. i'd love to build a story in the wizarding world and come up with our own plots or elaborate on canon events but i also don't mind if it's just our muses running around hogwarts & getting up to mischief ! for canon i'm especially keen on a draco malfoy x astoria greengrass ship, with me as astoria greengrass.
the hunger games + tbosas.
characters ; coriolanus snow, lucy gray baird, and am willing to try my hand at a few minor characters. i'd love to rp any original characters in the arena, mentor x tribute, capitol x tribute, capitol citizens, you name it. i'm also interested in writing something with coriolanus snow's grandchildren. either in an au where the idea for a 'hunger games with the capitol children' is instated or an au where his grandson is making his way up to be head gamemaker and snow has to watch as history repeats itself.
fandomless.
i'd kill for someone to play a freddy carter fc against my female oc !! but generally open for anything ! give me slice of life, enemies to lovers, pining, unrequited love, crime, medieval, fantasy, magic, royals, etc. I'm down for it as long as we can plot it out and have fun !
If you're interested in any of these please interact with this post and i'll reach out <3
