Decades after being punished in a residential school for speaking his own language, Sol Mamakwa will hold the powerful to account at Ontario's legislature in the very same language past governments tried to bury. On Tuesday, Mamakwa, the only First Nation legislator at Queen's Park, will rise in the legislative chamber — with his mother, sister, brothers, friends and elders watching from the gallery — and ask a question in Anishininiimowin, known in English as Oji-Cree. For the first time in its history, the Ontario legislature will allow, interpret and transcribe a language other than English and French. It will also be a birthday gift to his mom, Kezia Mamakwa, who turns 79 that day, and a nod to his late father, Jerry Mamakwa. "Language is nationhood, language is identity, language is where history comes from and language is me and my people," Sol Mamakwa, a 53-year-old NDP legislator, said in an interview. "It's important because there's so many of us who are losing our languages. I think it's a step toward reconciliation and a step toward reviving our languages."

SHE'S SO PRETTY?! 😭💖
But honestly I don't think it's Aventurine's sister because she would have the same eyes as him. And let's be honest, she would've been old like looking at her with Kakavasha, she looks around in her teen era so I doubt that's Aventurine's sister and she was killed by the Katicans(idk if that's how it's spelt) but I would be surprised if it's her.
Nonetheless, I'm excited for her and she's a 4* character?! 😭
Watch her be the strongest character lmao

TdV Hamburg review!!
I saw two shows with the same cast (of note: Vincent van Gorp as Alfred, Kristin Backes as Sarah, Simon Loughton as Krolock) and hence feel like I have a pretty well-rounded view of this production (at least w this cast). I'm glad I went twice because things that bothered me in the matinee had less of an impact on the evening show!
TL;DR - Liked it a surprising amount though not sure how much of that is due to wishful thinking XD In any case, it's leagues better than Stuttgart 2021.
Spoilers/details:
- Sarah and Alfred both hear the "sei bereit" in nie gesehn and Krolock sings gott ist tot to both of them!!! The overall impression is that both are being tempted, Alfred just resists and hesitates more. Which I enjoy hehehe
- I like Simon's Krolock overall, he is a bisexual dirty old man with some Flair akdklsls. The more time goes on the less I like tenor/high voiced Krolocks but he had some great classical singing deep notes so he seems like a good mix, I'll take it. I couldn't altogether sense any Deep Depths Of Pain in Gier but it's ok, not my main fave number in the show anyway.
- Paolo Valenti as Nightmare Alfred is a highlight, and so were the other dance soloists (Ian Vrolijk & Kezia Coulson) tbh hehe. I love Carpe Noctem and they delivered. The choreography seems lots less straightwashed than in covid safety measure times (I guess I can excuse it in hindsight then, since it's proven temporary). Also I always love white vamp's slutty little black lace stockings hehehe
- Vincent van Gorp's Alfred was much better in the evening than in the matinee. I liked him from Sie irren onwards in both shows, but I really need Alfred to have enough of an "edge" to him, some level of seriousness in his devotion to Sarah, and in the matinee he just seemed cutesy and too naive. But his overall demeanor was a lot more to my liking in the evening (save for a few choices which must come from the direction, ie. he sulks and pouts after Sarah tricks the bath from him... I never fail to mourn the deleted verse where Alfred basically says he's into the teasing lol). Bonus points for what I read as lots and lots of repressed bisexuality in vor dem schloss hehehe
- TANZSAAL!!!! We get the best of everything: Alfred tries to run to Sarah at multiple points (most touchingly when she falls to the floor), only stopped by the prof - AND he faints during the bite >:))) and literally fans himself 😌 We also get a reluctant/disillusioned Sarah, which is my preference
- Kristin Backes as Sarah is great, she reminds me a lot of Sarah Brightman (in the poto music video which is all I've seen of her). Amazing vocals (even in roten stiefel which gets pitchy with so many Sarahs), convincing arc, no notes 😌
- Oooh another fun thing: Nightmare Solo 1 was covered by Herbert in the show I saw (Jonas Steppe was off so I had Andres Vercoutere, he did great), and Nightmare Solo 2 is a woman!!! (Anne Hoth). Very enjoyable, their voices mix so nicely >:)
- I had the pleasure of seeing Anja Backus as Magda once again (she was one of the big solid wins of Stuttgart 2021 for me, even if some other things in that prod were quite lacking). And idk I think everyone who sees her unanimously agrees that she slays 😌😂
- ANYWAY to return to individual scenes...... What sold this prod for me the most was the combo of draussen 2 (mostly in terms of Sarah and Alfred) and the electric finale (which you can't really fail at if everyone gives their all, which they did). In draussen2 Sarah was soooo fun (the switch seemed natural and hmm shall we just say that everything she did after that was pretty hot) AND ALFRED. Omg alfred... I really like how it went for him hehe, very bloodthirsty, lunges for the professor three times before Sarah stops him... The thing about this prod is that he kind of pulls Sarah close and they kiss super romantically (thats what I think I saw) before agreeing to maul the audience - which they go to do hand in hand. And like mmmmmmm this is why I watch this show!!!! It's about the Central Dark Romance (😂😎 sorry i'm annoying about my ship on purpose but omg I feel so vindicated) and the level of loss of morals and depravity it took to finally get there... ahhhhh

Why Me?
An Alfie Solomon’s X Sylvia Voltaire(OC) One-Shot
A/N: Hello guys and welcome back to another Alfie Solomons One-Shot. I know it’s crazy to see myself this active again believe me it feels good. But I wanted to come in say this has been the most fun writing I’ve ever had in a while and I really hope I get to every single character of Tom Hardy. I still need to catch up on the other films of his including Lawless which by looking at the small clips of Forrest Bondurant oh boy is he such a cute man. But as always guys thank you for coming by and reading my fics. Thank you for sharing and liking and I’ll see you all later.
ALFIE SOLOMONS MASTERLIST
Camden Town: 1920’s
Out of all the places in the entire country of London, Sylvia and her family had no choice but to stay in a place called Camden Town. They weren’t welcome that was for sure. As none residents, gypsies were considered to be nothing but untrustworthy, scum, and the lowest of the low. Knowing that they have to live and remind themselves that was how they were born and raised.
They had a wonderful life back in their hometown in France. There was a piece of land right off the coast, where it was peaceful, safe, calm, and overall where they were far away from the city. Her father Andre, had a job there as a carpenter but he did get little pay for what it was. The amount of money he would win almost went entire to have food on the table. Until one day the owner decided to let him go swing that his business wasn’t making as much as before. And leaving their lovely home behind they ended up in the city across the ocean.
Even for a family of 6 including Sylvia, it was hard to cope seeing that her mother Kezia, has to take care mostly the baby of the family Kaven. Her two baby sisters Zana and Risa are at the age of heading to their womanhood. Knowing that both of her parents with a heavy heart need to send of their daughters to find good suitors that will take care of them. Sylvia as being the oldest, isn’t fully prepare to have to go with someone she doesn’t even love or know about much. Even for a place like London where everyone wouldn’t even want glimpse her way for one bit.
Once they arrived to their new home a year ago, It was hard to get use to the amount of new surroundings. The tall grass fields were something to enjoy and being around. Thought the amount of strangers passing by with their automobiles was something that bothered the Voltaire family the most. Even through the year they at one point already got use to seeing many travelers and car machines so many times. Seeing that his father was trying his best to find a job around town, it seemed that he wasn’t going anywhere knowing that he was an outcast.
“Papa, maman, why can’t we just leave this place already?” Said Risa in their French tongue while they had late night dinner around the campfire.
“Because your papá my dear has some news to tell you all, and darling please try to speak your English a bit more,” Kezia said while attending the now 6 month old Kaven in one arm poking around the wood for the fire to still be on.
“My dear Kezia please, let them speak the tongue we have been born to learn,” said Andre to her which she just nodded her head quietly until he gave the big news. “My dear girls, I finally found a new job that will finally help us not go without any food on the anymore. And I will start by tomorrow.”
Risa, Zana, and Sylvia all looked at each other as if his father is telling a lie.
“Wait papa, are you certain of this? How did you manage to convince the owner of this new job?” Asked Sylvia not believing what her ears are hearing.
“It is true, and the wonderful thing is a bakery which you all know that I use to make some great bread back home. And I wanted to share with you all that I will start tomorrow,” said Andre feeling a lot of hope for such a new opportunity that he has been waiting for so long.
“Papa what wonderful news, but does the owner know that you are well a gypsy?” Sylvia said feeling worried that if the owner of the shop finds out that they are outsiders.
“I only mentioned that we are a family of 6 and that we have been poor for a very long time. He didn’t ask for my background and instead he understood about our situation. He saw me as a human being and not a stranger, and he gave me the job right away,” Andre said though in reality the owner was more then just a simple baker and something that he had to keep to himself.
“We can finally go back home, to our small and beautiful beach again,” said Risa having an excited smile on her face knowing that she had enough of this place.
“We will go back home my children, I promise you all that with as much money as I can collect we will go back. But that is all tonight we should all get some rest now, goodnight my girls,” said Andre getting up on his feet while Risa and Zana did the same.
As every made their way to their individual tents Sylvia heard her name called out by her father.
“Yes father, is there something wrong?” She anxiously said hoping that it was nothing bad.
“Nothings wrong my dear, me and your mother wanted to talk with you alone without the girls being here,” her father said which Sylvia was confused with why she needed to be there alone.
Though Sylvia didn’t want to question it to much she instead took a seat on top of a wooden log.
“What is it that you and mother want to speak about with me me?”
Both her mother and father looked at each other without any words. Knowing that what her father will say next will make their oldest daughter upset.
“My lovely dear, promise me that you will not be in what I will say to you next. Just always removed that I and your mother love you with all of our hearts and soul,” Andre said as he placed a gentle hand on top of Sylvia’s left knee which she just stood quiet, “The owner of the bakery requested that if you would like to work for him as his own personal book keeper. And that he would like to meet you tomorrow, I know this sounds much but I also think and pray that maybe this man could be a potential suitor for you. It’ll be a way for you to have a good life for you knowing that we want what’s best you my love.”
“Father aren’t you hearing yourself? You think this man that you just met think he could bring me happiness not knowing if he might have any bad intentions? No, I will not work for him even if the money seems fair but I won’t accept it,” Sylvia said not believing in what she is hearing.
How could her mother agree to this not knowing what type of men could be dangerous out there especially if they are not gypsy by blood.
“Sylvia please, listen to your father. What if he is right, what if this man could give you everything you could ask for? And not live the way we do? I want also the best for you and for your sisters and Kaven. I don’t want to see any of you continue living like we are doing at this moment. Just go with your father and see the owner for yourself. But don’t forget to always keep your guard up my dear like we have always taught you,” Kezia begged knowing that she didn’t like where this was going but she also hoped for something good to come from this man.
The oldest daughter only sighed in defeat and agreed to go with his father to the bakery. Knowing that whatever this man is offering for her and her father is for good fortune.
****
The Next Morning
Sylvia and her father walked in a busy and noisy street as they made their way to where the bakery was located. From being on the fields for a year long this was more than what she expected. Some horses pulling wagons, men of all ages covered in dust and black powder from head to toe and the smell of coal and steel was in the air. It was a busy morning as they picked up the pace, trying to get to their meeting with the owner of the bakery in time. Sylvia wore something that would look presentable and clean though she ended up wearing one her mothers old black long sleeve dress. Which she was grateful to wear but also it made her look like if she was going to meet her doom. As some time went by they finally made it to the place where Andre knocked on two wooden doors a couple of times. The door was then opened which they were greeted by a young man who was in his mid to late 20’s.
“Mr. Voltaire, I presume yes?” The man asked which Andre took his brown cap off from his head.
“Yes I am he, and I also brought with me my daughter Sylvia. Does your owner want to see us already?” Andre asked while he wiped a bit of sweat that formed in front of his forehead.
“Mr. Solomon’s does want to see you both already. Come in,” said the young man directing them more deeper inside the brown lit shop.
There were mountains of barrels stacked from side of side, the smell of fresh dough being made and oddly enough there was a hint of of rum witching the same smell. Making their way to another pair of wooden doors, there was another long hallway with many men working from one station to another. Until one particular man was making their way towards Sylvia and Andre the one that everyone feared the most throughout the town of Camden.
“Mr. Solomon’s, this is Andre the one who was asking for a job yesterday. He wants to speak with you,” Ollie said which his boss didn’t say a thing until he was standing in front of them.
“Righ’ well Mr. Voltaire, a very good mornin’ to you sir. And yes i would to still go over some discussions with you about the job. And where I me manners, but who is this lovely woman here with you?” Said Alfie looking at his direction towards Sylvia which she just stood quiet but felt warm inside.
“My daughter Mr. Solomon’s, Sylvia Voltaire she is the oldest of the three. I brought her along to see if you wanted to still find someone with who to keep your booking. And I thought my Sylvia would be a good use in your business sir. She might not have the experience but we would be grateful if you can teach her,” Andre said hoping that it would convince Alfie to bring her in.
Alfie was quiet for a moment until he looked at Sylvia’s way looking at her up and down. She didn’t know what else to say or do she only could stay still while the bearded man thought for a moment or two if she looked like a good fit for a place like this. Though something did caught her eye about him, which it was odd to say the least. He seemed grumpy, broad, intelligent, and overall very attractive. Like from the looks of his body structure he seems to know what he does for a living and that this place itself has been booming for quite a while. She also caught a glimpse of his right hand with a small tattoo crown not knowing if it means something or just for display. Feeling like time has gone by so slowly, Alfie then finally spoke up.
“She will do, don’ you worry Mr. Voltaire, Ollie here will teach your daughter what she needs to do with me book keeping’s. Don’t you worry, I know she will be a good helping around here,” said Alfie giving a small smirk at Sylvia which she just bow her head in acknowledgment.
“Thank you Mr.Solomon’s for the opportunity, I promise to be of great use to you and for your work environment. But I also would like to thank you more for giving my father this job, we are grateful to find someone like you sir,” Sylvia said hoping that she didn’t sound very overly thankful.
“It’s nothin’ love and for next time don’t call sir or Mr. Solomon’s. Form now on yea, you will address as alfie and nothin’ more alrigh’?” He said while he liked her already for how polite she is.
As the morning went by, it suddenly became 2 o’ clock in the afternoon. Both Sylvia and her father have seen and learned so much in just almost a whole day. Andre knew what to expect since Mr. Solomon’s told him that he had an underground business that not even the coppers don’t know about. Though it did worry for the safety of Sylvia, and the rest of his family. Wondering if this was the right thing to bring her daughter to such a place and to be part of gangster organization. It was a lot to think for Andre to take in and he didn’t know if he should continue this path or not.
“Well now you and your daughter can go home for today, but starting tomorrow right’ is when it will get serious. And Mr. Voltaire is it possible if I could have a word alone with Sylvia,” Alfie said to which Andre felt nervous to be asked such a question but he did agree.
Sylvia and Ollie didn’t mind what time of day it was, as they were mostly bust sorting papers and writing down on the big note books. She did manage to learn quickly right away seeing that it was just writing many sorts of name items and to calculate how many sales were being sold. Knowing that she didn’t speak much English and her reading wasn’t the best, Sylvia was determined to not give up on this opportunity. Knowing that this will help not only for herself but for her family as well even if it means that she needs to stay some long nights. While she tried to know what papers have to properly be placed on the door to the small office was opened seeing her father in the entrance.
“Sylvia, umm… Mr. Solomons would like to have a moment with you,” Andre said to her in their native tongue which she looked confused but she didn’t ask another word.
Once they made it to Alfie’s office, which the oldest daughter was a bit confused as to why Alfie needs tor see her. Though once inside, he saw him sitting on the side of his big long desk filled with many piles of papers, the smell of whiskey, and dust above the atmosphere. He didn’t notice their presence right away, as Andre ands Sylvia walked up in front of the desk.
“Ah, righ’ Sylvia. I would like to speak to you about your position here in me bakery. It’s nothing bad if that’s what you are thinking love, but please have a seat,” Alfie said standing up on his feat and guiding the gypsy girl to sit.
She looked back at her father for a moment, which he just gave her a look of reassurance and that everything is fine. Though Andre and Alfie did have a talk earlier about having to bring Sylvia to this business. But it is something that Alfie himself that should tell her and it gave Andre some hope.
“I’ll leave you both alone, I’ll wait for you outside my dear,” said Andre lastly making his way out of the room hearing the door closed shut.
“You’re wondering why I need here alone with me love, and I’ll explain everything in a moment. But firstly righ’, what do you think of this job overall?” Alfie then asked taking his seat once more letting out a low sigh grunt.
“Well it is quite easy actually, however even if my English isn’t very well and my reading is a bit low I don’t see why I should not stop coming here and learn more. I honestly am doing this for my father and my family, we have been poor for a year. We had to leave home from France because well, my fathers old job wasn’t doing no good, and that is why we are here in London. Faith has always been on our side and I believe fate has come to us so quickly because of you Alfie. And I want to say again that we are very grateful that you accepted us as hard workers and not something else,” Sylvia said while Alfie listen to everything that almost what Andre said to him and he knew that this family was in need to help.
“I am sorry to hear that love, I can’ imagine that you all had to move across the ocean to land here. But I also want to say this. Your father and I have come to an agreement about you being here in me bakery, but promised him that I’ll be keeping an eye on you including my partner Ollie. As you can see yea, there are many men in this place as you have noticed. However, yea, if they ever try to lay a finger on you even give you the eye to your way, they are fuckin’ dead and will never see the light of day ever again. I know it sounds harsh for you but it is a promise that I am keeping for yous and your dear old father. How does that sound to you lass?” Alfie said seeing Sylvia’s facial expression change to confusion.
“Wait, my, my father told you all about us, but why would you try to help us?” Sylvia said trying to understand why her father would mention about everyone in the family.
“Your father asked for a favor he feels that if you are around with me you will be safe. And I could be very protective when it comes to having women around in me shop. But you don’t have to worry about that love, and well you all seem to be good people and I have been at my lowest before and I know how that life is like. However righ’, you and your family are under me eyes now starting tomorrow and showing you my humbleness towards you all and you deserve it,” alfie said in the end giving a small smile at Sylvia which she did return the smirk.
“Thank you Alfie, but how can we repay you back? This is just so much to take in.”
“No need to my dear, besides a pretty woman like you is worth saving and having around,” he added to which Sylvia could only blush at his comment.
“Again thank you Mr. Solomons. I mean, Alfie, but I will see you in the morning along with my father. But may I ask you a question and don’t take this in a wrong way. Why me and not another woman?” She asked knowing that there is more girls out there that would interest Alfie more than her.
“Is that really a question to ask treacle? You want to know the truth of why I see something in you than any other woman in this town?” He said standing up on his feet once again resting his hands on top of his hips while Sylvia felt a lump forming in her throat seeing while she sat still. “Because you’re different, and I like to know who you really are truly Sylvia Voltaire. And well, maybe if you would like to go out sometime to dinner with me if that’s what you wish for that is.”
Sylvia had nothing much to say but she stood quiet for a moment. Her fathers boss is asking her for dinner and wants to get to know her better is something out of this word. No man has ever said such a thing to her before until now. Especially Alfie that was not of gypsy origin but is willing to have some interest in her and wanting to get to know her better.
“Oh… well Alfie I don’t know what to say about all of this. I mean you are the first man to ask me out which that has never happened to me before. Though may I have to think about this, its just its soon to say but I need a moment to give you my word,” she then said hoping that it didn’t bother Alfie for one bit.
But to her surprise, Sylvia didn’t expect to what Alfie had to say next.
“No love please, by all means have all the time that you need. And your righ’, I’m sorry for askin’ out of nowhere. Please forgive me for sounding like an eager prick,” Alfie said knowing that this was a bad idea to ask in the first place.
“No Alfie, you should not apologize its just… you asked me so politely and I think that’s very attractive coming from you,” she said without thinking wishing she could take back what she just said right now.
“Did I now? Well I am flattered to be your first then love. But you should head home now, yea. I’ll see you both here again tomorrow morning. Is it alright if I could escort yous out? If that is fine with you of course?” Alfie said while Sylvia was caught with surprise again.
Is this man gone out of his head???…
“I. Well… yes that would be lovely thank you Alfie,” Sylvia said without stopping herself to which Alfie nodded his head.
As they both made their way outside of the entrance, both Alfie and Sylvia exchanged their last goodbyes. While doing so, she extended her hand out to Alfie both of their hands were clasp together.
“Thank you again Alfie, and see you soon again,” she lastly said feeling her hand against his larger hand feeling butterflies fluttering inside her stomach.
Once they shook hands, she made her way to where her father was waiting, as Alfie looked on seeing Sylvia leave. She then looked back for a moment, giving a small smile towards his way to which he did the same without noticing it himself.
This will be something exciting to look forward to… and I hope it is for the best….

Margate: Two Years Later
Waking up to the sound of the ocean waves was what Sylvia have missed for so long. She never thought she would be close to the sea ever again, but it has finally come true once again. And that was all on Alfie that gave her everything that she could ever wish for. After being at his so call bakery everyday, they both became closer together. And she did ended up going out with Alfie whenever no one was looking or listening especially her father. They did their best to pretend to be just partners from work, but in reality both Sylvia and Alfie started to build a bond together. Having a hard time not wanting to be separated from each other. Whenever he had meetings to attend too or some “errands” to go too, he would tell her to stay for her safety. Though Sylvia did at some point found out that he was this infamous gangster of Camden Town, but it didn’t make her look at him differently. What she cared about the most was the way he cared for her, keeping her safe from harm, and overall being treated like what a girl should be treated. Until now everything was perfect and grateful for everything that this life has given to her and her family. They were given another opportunity to be able to live like actual people, and as for Alfie generosity and humbleness, he did make a propose to Sylvia and her family.
“Sylvia, wake up, wake up, let’s go down to the seashore again. There are so many sea shells here then we have sene back home. Come on wake up,” Risa exclaimed gently tugging on her sisters right hand which she just grunted in reply.
“Hmmm, Risa please, its to early in the morning, can’t you wait later in the afternoon,” Sylvia said in a lazy voice, recasting turning her head the other way.
“Awww your no fun, please sister just this one time. I promise I wont ask you again next time,” she begged again to which Sylvia became quiet for a moment.
“Fine just give me a moment yes?” She mumbled to which she just heard her little sister said “yay” hearing her footsteps fade away.
She suddenly felt a shift on her left side along with a strong arm wrapping around her stomach.
“Good mornin’ my pet,” said a huskily Alfie also trying his best to wake up from his semi sleep.
“Hmm, good morning to you as well my love,” Sylvia said back as they both exchange a long kiss.
She then wrapped her arms around his strong, broad chest as they press their lips closer together.
“Sylvia. Come down please,” Zana called out this time, to which Sylvia groaned in annoyance.
“Well this kiss didn’t last so long as it did last night,” Sylvia joked making Alfie chuckle.
“Well don’t be so disappointed my dove, there is more of that later tonight. I promise you,” he said giving her a cheeky wink
It was has been almost a year of being together since Alfie asked Sylvia to be hers. It shocked her at first but she knew right away that she found her one true love. Even thought they came from different origins their love for each other was nothing to ignore. Alfie embraced Sylvia’s culture he was even willingly to learn French from her which he had approved very well. As for the rest of her family, they ended up having a home build in Margate next to Alfie’s. Which Andre and Kezia felt nothing but grateful towards Alfie’s knowing that this man was sent from the heavens. They have long for some peace and quiet and they their dreams did came true.
“Come on then love, let’s see what today awaits us ahead yea?” Alfie then asked making Sylvia come back to her senses.
“You lead the way my king.”

dominic and leo are the two oldest of the group, both of them being 16 going to 17, and lily is the youngest, being 12 years old
and technically lily and leo aren't fully humans. leo is an angel, and lily is a puppy-human hybrid
kezia is a witch, but in my story's world, a witch is a human born with an uncommon power or ability, so she's a human lol

Ask-Anything: The Snape-Hardbroom-Hobbes Family: Context And Rules:
Part 1: The Early Years:
Severus Snape and Constance Hardbroom first met back in 1977 as students. Constance’s school-Cackle’s Academy-was visiting Hogwarts for the Spring Term. Over time (and with the secret help of Lily Evans and James Potter), Severus and Constance began a bit of a romance. But, this was short lived. After Constance, Severus, James and Lily had to fight off a Death Eater attack at Hogwarts, Snape was confronted by his Slytherin peers-reminding him of his true loyalties.
When Constance and the rest of Cackle’s students returned to their Overblown Castle, Severus continued to work with the Dark Arts. As for James and Lily, though they were upset about Severus still being into the Dark Arts, the two couldn’t help but sense the best in him. A feeling James and Lily kept to each other. Even in their last days.
Then came September 1st, 1982. It has almost been a year since Lord Voldemort’s defeat at the cost of James and Lily Potter. The then 22-years-old, Snape worked as Hogwarts’ Potions Master much to his own chagrin. With his own personal demons, Severus proved himself to be unpopular among staff and students alike. He was arrogant, antisocial and outright petty. With him being head of the Slytherin Household, Severus could let his underlings get away with murder. Yet, on this day, Albus Dumbledore announced to all that Cackle’s Academy was going to make a longer visit than last time; from October all the way to July.
Halloween arrived in a flash and Cackle’s Academy made their much awaited arrival. Among the visitors was one of the younger teachers; Constance Hardbroom. Now in a long, black dress, and dark-brown hair wrapped in an extremely tight bun, Severus was surprised to see her again. This was said for Constance as she always thought Severus would never-for any reason-return to Hogwarts after graduating. Not to mention, she was still mad at Severus for not keeping in contact with her as he had promised.
While they had an awkward start, a couple of incidents would drive Constance and Severus to let love bloom. Albeit in strict secrecy. And when July arrived, the pair wrote dozens of letters to each other. The relationship got so serious that marriage was often brought up.
Given his past and current situations, Severus was reluctant to take such a step. Eventually, Severus would buck up the courage to marry Constance. But not without confessing his Death-Eater ways, his job as Dumbledore’s agent and even what had happened to Lily Evans. While that was a lot for Constance to process, she would decide to marry Severus on August 1, 1983. With retired Minister of Magic, Elphinstone Urquart, officiating the elopement, Albus Dumbledore, Minerva McGonagall, and Amelia Cackle served as witnesses.
At first, the newlyweds were in bliss in spite of having to continue their long-distance romance due to their respective jobs. But, as time went on, problems would start to resurface. And when it’s discovered that a baby was on the way, a scared Severus put divorce on the table. As a result, a heart-broken Constance decided to put their upcoming baby up for adoption in hopes to give him/her a stable upbringing. Something Constance nor Severus could give.
Throughout the months, Constance would hide away in the Flamel House in France thanks to Dumbledore’s friendship with Nicolas and Perenelle Flamel. Amelia Cackle, Minerva McGonagall, Elphinstone Urquart and later Poppy Pomfrey would be around to help. As for Severus, he would visit when not teaching or spying. Yet, he and Constance would hardly speak with each other.
Then, on Christmas morning, a son was born; “Nicholas Brian”. Ecstatic as they were to see their son, Severus and Constance forced themselves back to earth. They finally got around to signing both the divorce and adoption papers and gave the nine-day-old newborn to Elphinstone who would give the baby to Kezia and Huw Hobbes.
In his grief, Severus decided to do something drastic; collect his memories in flasks, put those in a box and have Dumbledore obliviate any memories that involved Constance and their son. A task a solemn Dumbledore agreed to do. As for the box of memories, it would be given to Dumbledore and then to the next headmistress, McGonagall to give to Nicholas Brian if he ever arrived at Hogwarts.
Part 2: Resurrections And Reunions:
In 1998, the Second Wizarding War was fought and won by the Order of the Phoenix. However, among the casualties was none other than Severus Snape. Hated by the Order, it was Harry Potter who would clear the air and explain Snape’s true intentions to the Wizarding World. Yet, Severus had to have his funeral without his corpse for, during the battles, he would be whisked away by an obscure, but dangerous group known as “R”. With most of their former members dead, the remaining party, Verruca Snyde, Patricia Rakepick, Eustace Burke and Kazuhiro Shiratori had managed to escape Azkaban during a 1997 mass breakout. Trying to gain their goal of immortality, the smaller “R” often tried and failed to reach it. Then they came across a peculiar formula that holds to the key to revival. And once finding the body of Severus Snape, they took their chance.
Once the corpse was in their hideout, a concoction was made with the tears of a phoenix, the wings of fairies, the horn of a unicorn, a few plants and the Resurrection Stone. This, the Revival Potion, was what brought Severus Tobias Snape back from the grave with his scars and infamous Death-Mark gone. But this potion came with a cost; with the Resurrection Stone being one of the main properties, Snape’s DNA has been mutated; gaining the Hallow’s powers, he could summon the Heaven-bound at will. All while both of his palms bore the symbol of the Deathly Hallows with the stone emblem being the most pronounced.
Disgusted with what’s been done to him, Severus escaped his captors and lived on his own in the woods of Great Britain. Over time, he created unique potions and mailed them to apothecary shops and St. Mungo’s Hospital under the alias, “Sephtis Surgo”. He would obtain a good portion of wealth as a result, yet remained in isolation. All Severus would have for company were the summoned Dumbledore and Lily Evans.
Then, in the spring of 2006, a potions experiment caused a terrible house fire which would’ve killed Severus had he not been rescued by students of the nearby Cackle’s Academy. As he was cared for by Amelia Cackle and the school nurse, Constance Hardbroom was shocked and lost for words when finding Severus again. Over time, she and Severus had to work to rekindle their troubled flame. Not only that, they would reunite with their long lost son, 22-year-old Nicholas Hobbes of Weirdsister College.

Smiffina Episodes: Stealth Attack
Smithy is drawn back into the Samuel's family again after he witnesses Leanne arguing with a store manager before she is half pushed/half falls into a pile of boxes outside the store. The manager says Leanne accused him of short changing her and started arguing with him and hit him in the process. He claims he did nothing to her - then when asked by Smithy about the cut on her head he says "Self defence" and then "I could accidentally have caught her. "
Smithy asks Leanne what has happened and she tells him she was fired for being late again after she'd been left with Brooke one too many times and then had to attend the station with Carly. She is bleeding from the cut on her head and her leg is really swollen. Carly is nowhere to be seen after leaving Leanne holding the baby. Smithy sighs and tells Leanne they'll look after Brooke whilst she goes to hospital. Emma jumps straight to calling social services but Smithy refuses, telling her he's going to talk to Carly first.
Leanne's had some time to think now she's been sat in hospital and she realised that the missing £10 she added to the electric meter. Money was tight when she was working and it'll be even worse now. He asks how she lost her job and Leanne admits Carly dumps Brooke on her whenever she feels like it so she's become unreliable at work as she can't leave a 1 year old home alone and Carly never returns when she says she will. Smithy sighs and very regretfully tells her he's going to have to arrest her for the assault on the manager of the shop.
Carly still is nowhere to be seen, Smithy's left three messages for her and he's got people keeping an eye out for her as they drive round. Emma is covered in food from looking after Brooke and has had enough and needs a break so Smithy ropes Nate in to babysit!
All is not lost, Carly is finally tracked down and Smithy tells her about her mum and she's clearly worried and jumps to it to follow Smithy to the car to go and see her mum. By the time they return to the station for Brooke, Nate and Brooke have bonded and he's proper goo-goo for her, they even managed a nap together! "Who's a good girl? Who's a good girl!"
Kezia has been looking into the owner of the shop, he seems as though he has been accused of selling alcohol to people under the age of 18. A particular member of staff was fired for it and Smithy hopes that he can get the manager to drop charges against Leanne if he has a nice word with Trading Standards. It works and Smithy is clearly happy - but his bubble is soon burst when Sun Hill receives a call from one of Carly's neighbours about a child crying solidly for the last hour and half. He and Emma hurry round. Carly doesn't answer the door when Smithy knocks so he kicks it in and finds Brooke crying and home alone. He's had it with Carly, enough second chances. He calls her social worker who attends the station to look after Brooke.
Carly comes into the station and tells Smithy that she only wasn't home because she'd gone to get Brooke some medicine for Colic. He takes her into the front interview room and tears strips off her. Carly is immediately remorseful and says she tries to look after her but her mum is always telling her that her milk is too cold, her bath is too hot etc and she feels like she can't do anything. Then she breaks down into tears. "What if I'm not good enough?" Smithy softens and explains gently it's hard work looking after a baby and Leanne just wants to help. He explains gently she can't be left alone and all that she wants is to be looked after by her mum - and he knows that Carly can do it and she's shown she loves her by the panic when she thought she was being taken away.
He goes to see them later to make sure they're all ok and to let Leanne know she's in the clear. He's happy to find Leanne cuddling Brooke and resting whilst Carly is cleaning. He's clearly impressed and tasks her with something very important - making him a cup of tea!

Delilah's Days 24 (maybe)
We start out on the same day we left off before. It's Sunday at the Day household.
Delilah was hoping for a visit from Santa.
Over the course of the week, Delilah kept herself busy with making new friends and hanging with old friends. The pics in this post are from Sunday to Friday. Highlighting the fun to be had in the family.
Mayhem turned teen on Sunday, Pippi to child on Tuesday, and Rani on Friday.
Kezia is off to college. Not sure which one she'll attend just yet. She has the most scholarships of any of the kids so far. Seven!
I swear, every time someone goes near the telescope autonomously, they get abducted. Nancy two days in a row, Pippi a few days later.
Pippi and Quinlinn both got their first A+ this week.
Just some household randoms.
Oh, Don . . .
Baby U has joined the family!
There's always something going on somewhere in the house.
Like that. That went on somewhere in the house.
Toddlers are so cute. Tippi just inserted herself into the conversation when she couldn't get Mayhem to pay attention to her. She is the queen and will not be ignored.
We have another family member. Little Verily. Yes, her daddy is on the hanky-panky pic.
Such cuties!
Well, Don. It's Thursday. You'll be home to keep the household in line until Monday. No more surprises for a few days.
Note what PT had to say while everyone was seeing to Pippi's return.
I hit the pic limit. There was just one more pic to post, too. I guess it'll come first next time we visit Delilah's happy home. It is a happy home, most of the time.

Eulogy
Yesterday, I went to a memorial service of a close friend’s late father who passed away this week. Normally, a memorial service doesn’t really evoke any emotions in me, but there was something so profoundly different about this one. This memorial service made me feel that I missed out on knowing my friend’s father because of how wonderful of a person he was! He was described as quietly funny, dedicated, and as someone who goes above and beyond when helping others. He touched so many lives, his impact is so visibly seen in the families that he left behind, and he had a life full of love.
In his eulogy, I learned that he was in the airline industry and when he moved to the US, he had a cleaning business before finally reunited with his love of airplanes by working for a major airline company at 67 years old! The eulogy said he HAPPILY drove in the traffic every day to LAX until his retirement from the company. If that doesn’t scream commitment to you, I don’t know what else will!
Every person’s testimony about him left me laughing out loud because even though he is known to be a man of so very little words, his kindness overcomes his quietness. Hearing everyone’s story makes me wished i got to know my friend much much earlier in my life because then, I would’ve been able to know her father too.
But then there’s another thing that got me thinking. Reading that eulogy and hearing everyone’s testimony made me think of my own eulogy, and the testimony that my loved ones will say. Will my eulogy focused on my career, or what I do for others, or my interests and hobbies? Most importantly, will my legacy be one of kindness, commitment to loyalty to God and to others?
Here’s how I picture my eulogy will be:
Kezia was born in Jakarta, April 15 1991 to Jimmy Baten and Erlinda Sianturi Baten. She grew up in Jatiwaringin where she started her education in SD Tunas Kasih before transferring to SDK 4 Penabur and SMPK 5 Penabur. In 20015, at the age of 14, Kezia along with her parents and older brother immigrated to the United States where the family lived in La Mirada before settling their roots in Buena Park, California.
Kezia obtained a bachelors degree in child development and family studies from CSU Long Beach. She initially wanted to pursue social work for social services agency before changing her dream to become an academic advisor for her alma mater. After a grueling 6 years, she finally obtained her dream and became an academic counselor at CSU Fullerton only to learn that she completely hated this job and there was no such thing as a dream job. After only 3 months at CSUF, she quits her job and returned to HR as talent acquisition specialist for a learning and development company. In 2023, she was unfortunately laid off but quickly accepted an offer in HR where she continued consistently for the next 25 years. She started working as HR Specialist at (insert super great company here), and worked her way up to HR Generalist, HR Manager, and finally Director of People & Culture until the day she retires.
Kezia married Julian in the midst of Covid pandemic on October 4, 2020. Surrounded by their closest friends and families out in nature, they exchanged vows and settled in Fullerton, CA. In 2023, they celebrated their wedding by having a wedding reception in Jakarta, Indonesia. The following year in 2024, they welcomed their first children: twins (JJ and EZ). The family moved to North Richland Hills, TX in spring 2025 and have been living there ever since.
Kezia loves Jesus and has served in various churches throughout her life. She served as a seating host and admin assistant at The Father’s House of Orange County from 2022 until 2032. She served at her local church (insert church name) and eventually launched a ministry where she served (insert population). Serving God has been a priority for Kezia as well as Julian and they made it a priority to always serve the Kingdom.
In her spare time, Kezia loves being in the outdoors. She and Julian have gone to every single national parks in the United States, often bringing the twins together with them which inspires the twins’ own love and appreciation for nature. Every long weekend was an opportunity for them to take the twins camping, sleep under the stars, learning about all the plants and animals, and appreciate what God has created for them. After their retirement, Kezia and Julian spent most of their time traveling both for the ministry as well as their own enjoyment. Kezia also loves coffee and hosting dinner parties at her home. Her love language is food and she loves creating a safe space for her loved ones to feel safe and welcomed at her home.
And that is all I can think about. Will my life really turn out like that? Obviously I don’t know. I do hope the twins thing really happened though :) But if yesterday taught me anything, it’s that our legacy matters. What do I want to be remembered of? Will my various HR titles matter? will my love for the outdoors matter? Maybe not so much. I truly hope i will be remembered as someone who loves the Lord, the Kingdom and has done everything I can to contribute to God’s Kingdom.
Have you ever thought of your eulogy?

As King Robert the Bruce was raised at Turnberry Castle, it is just possible that he owed some of his mental and bodily strength to the rye-scones of his youth.......sandy fields on a fragment of raised beach on the coast of Ayrshire were the salvation of Scotland and started Scotsmen on their mission of annexing England and inheriting the earth.
Ayr Advertiser, August 7th, 1902
MY FEET HAVE squelched through mud; they’ve crunched through shingle and gravel; they’ve felt the comfort of soft sand. Now for a maze of serrated rocks and caves beneath Robert Adams’s Culzean Castle, which sits in majesty on a clifftop south of the village of Maidens. There is a story about a piper who entered one of the caves playing his bagpipes to exorcise any bad spirits. He never came out. His dog did, but it had lost all its hair. In 2018 archaeologists found a medieval doorway that connected the cliffs to the caves, adding weight to the theory that the Kennedy earls had been involved in an enormous medieval smuggling racket.
In his account of a visit to Culzean in the 1630s, the clergyman chronicler, William Brereton, scribed: ‘There is either a notable imposture or most strange and much to be admired footsteps and impressions which are here to be seen of men, children, dogs, coneys, and divers other creatures. These here conceived to be Spirits, and if there be no such thing, but an elaborate practice to deceive, they do most impudently betray the truth; for one of this knight’s sons and another Galloway gentleman affirmed unto me that all the footsteps have been put out and buried in sand overnight and have been observed to be renewed next morning.’
Culzean is one of the most popular castles in Scotland, notwithstanding Brereton’s bad review from almost four centuries ago: ‘A dining-room or hall, a fair room, and almost as large as the whole pile, but very sluttishly kept, unswept, dishes, trenchers and wooden cups thrown up and down, and the room very nasty and unsavoury. Here we were not entertained with a cup of beer or ale.’
The castle was the seat of the powerful Kennedys, one of whom, Hugh, had fought alongside Joan of Arc. Nowadays it displays several intriguing artefacts, including a ‘ship of bones’ made from the beef rations of captured Napoleonic sailors; more than 700 flintlock pistols; around as many swords; and a sizeable teak and brass airplane propeller, which hangs from the ceiling. It came from the plane that downed a Zeppelin during the First World War. From 1972 until 2015 Culzean featured on Royal Bank of Scotland five-pound notes; and President Eisenhower visited the castle several times, and had a room named after him.
Culzean was the setting of some of the scenes in the 1973 cult film, The Wicker Man. It was the Castle of Lord Summerisle (Christopher Lee), although most of the interior shots were filmed at Lochinch Castle in Galloway.
Culzean is magnificent but not half as creepy as Dalquharran Castle, in which Dracula would have felt at home. Dalquharran, another Robert Adam building owned by the powerful Kennedys, was the inspiration for Buchan’s novel, Huntingtower, and Violet Bonham Carter recorded in her diary on August 5th 1905:
‘Oh for Dalquharran with its Raeburns and ruins and long green garden full of clematis! And the fishless stream and the beech trees!’
It was a youth hostel in the late 1930s and later occupied by evacuees from the Glasgow Deaf and Dumb Institution. It was eventually abandoned, and the roof came off in 1967 to avoid taxes. And, of course, the customary vandals have been at work further despoiling a wonderful old castle.
There is planning permission for two golf courses, a hotel, conference centre, country club, and hundreds of holiday homes, but no progress has been made since the grant in 1990. The property was sold to developers Kezia DCM Ltd in 2001. In June 2019, it went on the market for £800,000, and locals say there are signs that a new owner is tidying it up a bit.
There is much darkness in Ayrshire records. After the assassins of James 1 were hanged, drawn and quartered, in 1437, their body parts were sent around the country for display. Thomas Kennedy, 1st Laird of Bargany & Ardstinchar, and Bailie of Carrick, signed off payment of eleven shillings for ‘the carriage of a quarter of Robert Stewart, traitor, from Edinburgh to Ayr’. Stewart and his accomplice, Chambers, had been tied naked to a ship’s mast in Edinburgh High Street and pelted with stones and filth. Their flesh had been torn for an hour with iron pincers. They had been tied to the tails of horses and dragged through the town, then dragged to a scaffold to be beheaded and quartered with a rusty axe.
In 1569 another Kennedy, Gilbert, wanted Crossraguel Abbey, so he kidnapped Alan Stewart, the recently installed ‘commendator’ and began to barbecue him. He bound him to a spit, poured oil on him and roasted him slowly over a fire in the black dungeon of Dunure Castle (A Dunure kebab?)
According to Louis Yeoman, of the National Library of Scotland, in her book Reportage Scotland: ‘A sensational case of violence such as this fitted in nicely with the general 19th-century idea that before the Union of 1707 Scots were barbarous, violent and backwards, and not fit for civilised society.’
(That idea wouldn’t, of course, have been helped by Sir Walter Scott’s use of the scene in Ivanhoe.)
Stewart, who would never walk again, signed the abbey over. The Privy Council fined Kennedy £2,000 and had the abbey handed back to the commendator. Kennedy had previously got away with grabbing Glenluce Abbey in Galloway by faking signatures. One wonders how many other gruesome stories of land grabbing remain untold.
(Just as Bannockburn had been a springboard for Robert the Bruce to stop switching allegiances, and to increase his property portfolio, the Reformation was another field day for the land-hungry nobles of Scotland. Commendatorship was one of the biggest cons in medieval history: the choosing of a yes man to have custody of a stolen abbey or other piece of church land until a proper incumbent was provided – which was usually never – and the enjoyment of the revenues from such a holding.)
Since 2014 the resort of Turnberry, if not the castle, has been in the hands of Donald Trump. An investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 United States elections scrutinized the financing of Trump’s outfit there. After the well-publicised attack on the Capitol in January 2021, the organisers of the championship announced that The Open would not be held at Turnberry as long as its links to the Trump Organization remained. In February 2023, the company that managed the golf course reported pre-tax losses of 3.7 million pounds.
Hugh Taylor, a broadcaster and travel writer, who was born and bred along the Ayrshire coast, told me:
‘During a trip to Turnberry I was with the comedian Janey Godley, who was famous for the placard she put up. I got into the Sunday Herald. A journalist interviewed me, and I told her I’d grown up locally, that I had learned to swim in the pool at Turnberry Hotel.
‘I said my parents had taken me to see Eisenhower arrive at Culzean Castle where he’d been given the top floor. I told him that my folks revered Eisenhower as a hero. Trump on the other hand was a Bawbag. Bugger me, they published it. Must have got onto Canadian TV too, as a relative messaged me about it.’
We sit on the bus marvelling at the vista of Ailsa Craig and the Isle of Arran and feel that we are freewheeling uphill. The bus driver is used to it all. We are on the Electric Brae, an optical illusion. The inland end of this stretch of the A719 is six yards higher than the coastal end, but because of the way the topography slopes, the road seems to incline the opposite way. It’s a gravity hill, fascinating, but without the religious connotations of its big cousin in Tibet, above which aeroplanes reputedly jerk in mid-flight.

Bombshell: Robinson Uwak Estranged Wife Kezia Saga Leaked Audio Conversation With ‘Boyfriend’ Exposed
There are new details about Kezia Irek’s scheme to discredit her husband, Hon. Robinson Uwak, a former member of the House of Representatives.
According to a thorough police investigation, Kezia Irek and Joseph Mathew Utum planned to kill the politician from Akwa Ibom over life insurance claims for which Kezia Irek is the sole beneficiary.
The report claimed that Kezia Irek attempted to stab her husband in his sleep after failing to poison him.
According to the investigation, “Kezia Irek fled her marital home with several suitcases filled with valuables and real estate property documents.” Her next mission was to defame her husband, whip up public sympathy while pressing charges on trumped up domestic violence allegations. Her plot was to jail her husband to pave the way for her to sell his assets.
In a recently leaked telephone conversation traced to January 2022, Kezia Irek could be heard discussing with her boyfriend how she planned to defame her husband on all social media platforms and how she targeted her husband’s properties.
The audio conversation further shows Kezia Irek was in an adulterous relationship with the 24year old undergraduate identified as Joseph Mathew Utum of the University of Calabar as she admitted sharing several nude pictures of herself with her lover even while on vacation with her husband in Dubai.
More revelations are emerging following in-depth police investigations which have led to the arrest of Joseph Utum and Kezia Irek, according to Huhuonline.
Joseph Utum is said to have made useful statements to the police, which shows that the former lawmaker’s life was targeted in Kezia Irek’s plot to get rich quick.
Kezia Irek could be heard telling her lover over the phone conversation that her marriage to the lawmaker was like being in the Big Brother House, where she would eventually walk out rich.
The audio conversation further revealed that Kezia Irek’s mother, Mrs. Roseline Irek, a director in the Cross River State civil service, was aware of the adulterous relationship her daughter was having with Joseph Utum and frequently facilitated the affair.
Kezia Irek was quizzed yesterday by the police following an invitation extended to her to further clarify her role in the plot to kill her husband.
One of the many leaked phone conversations between Kezia Irek and her lover, Joseph Utum is attached below.

The audio conversation further shows Kezia Irek was in an alleged adulterous relationship with the 24year old undergraduate identified as Joseph Mathew Utum of the university of calabar as she admitted sharing several nude pictures of herself with her lover even while on vacation with her husband in Dubai.
More revelations are emerging following in-depth police investigations which has led to the Arrest of Joseph Utum and Kezia Irek.
Joseph Utum is said to have allegedly made useful statements to the police which shows that the former lawmaker’s life was targeted in Kezia Irek’s plot to get rich quick.
Kezia Irek could be heard telling her alleged lover the phone conversation that her marriage to the lawmaker was like being in the Big Brother House where she would eventually walk out rich.
The audio conversation further revealed that Kezia Irek’s Mother Mrs Roseline Irek a director in the Cross River State civil service is allegedly aware of the adulterous relationship her daughter was keeping with Joseph Utum and frequently allegedly facilitated the affair.
Kezia Irek was quizzed yesterday by the police following an invitation extended to her to further clarify her role in the plot to kill her husband.

Ever read any Katherine Mansfield? Thoughts?
Yes, she's great, simultaneously so lyrical and so tough-minded. (I think of her "cover version" of the Chekhov story where the exhausted young mother kills the baby.) I haven't read her in years, so I would need to refresh my memory on the specifics, but I remember thinking those two long autobiographical stories in particular, "Prelude" and "At the Bay," are as good as Joyce's or Lawrence's short stories. This is the famous passage from "Prelude," the one I best remember:
The moon that Lottie and Kezia had seen from the storeman's wagon was full, and the house, the garden, the old woman and Linda—all were bathed in dazzling light. "I have been looking at the aloe," said Mrs. Fairfield. "I believe it is going to flower this year. Look at the top there. Are those buds, or is it only an effect of light?" As they stood on the steps, the high grassy bank on which the aloe rested rose up like a wave, and the aloe seemed to ride upon it like a ship with the oars lifted. Bright moonlight hung upon the lifted oars like water, and on the green wave glittered the dew. "Do you feel it, too," said Linda, and she spoke to her mother with the special voice that women use at night to each other as though they spoke in their sleep or from some hollow cave— "Don't you feel that it is coming towards us?" She dreamed that she was caught up out of the cold water into the ship with the lifted oars and the budding mast. Now the oars fell striking quickly, quickly. They rowed far away over the top of the garden trees, the paddocks and the dark bush beyond. Ah, she heard herself cry: "Faster! Faster!" to those who were rowing.
