Ask-Anything: The Snape-Hardbroom-Hobbes Family: Context And Rules:
Part 1: The Early Years:
Severus Snape and Constance Hardbroom first met back in 1977 as students. Constance’s school-Cackle’s Academy-was visiting Hogwarts for the Spring Term. Over time (and with the secret help of Lily Evans and James Potter), Severus and Constance began a bit of a romance. But, this was short lived. After Constance, Severus, James and Lily had to fight off a Death Eater attack at Hogwarts, Snape was confronted by his Slytherin peers-reminding him of his true loyalties.
When Constance and the rest of Cackle’s students returned to their Overblown Castle, Severus continued to work with the Dark Arts. As for James and Lily, though they were upset about Severus still being into the Dark Arts, the two couldn’t help but sense the best in him. A feeling James and Lily kept to each other. Even in their last days.
Then came September 1st, 1982. It has almost been a year since Lord Voldemort’s defeat at the cost of James and Lily Potter. The then 22-years-old, Snape worked as Hogwarts’ Potions Master much to his own chagrin. With his own personal demons, Severus proved himself to be unpopular among staff and students alike. He was arrogant, antisocial and outright petty. With him being head of the Slytherin Household, Severus could let his underlings get away with murder. Yet, on this day, Albus Dumbledore announced to all that Cackle’s Academy was going to make a longer visit than last time; from October all the way to July.
Halloween arrived in a flash and Cackle’s Academy made their much awaited arrival. Among the visitors was one of the younger teachers; Constance Hardbroom. Now in a long, black dress, and dark-brown hair wrapped in an extremely tight bun, Severus was surprised to see her again. This was said for Constance as she always thought Severus would never-for any reason-return to Hogwarts after graduating. Not to mention, she was still mad at Severus for not keeping in contact with her as he had promised.
While they had an awkward start, a couple of incidents would drive Constance and Severus to let love bloom. Albeit in strict secrecy. And when July arrived, the pair wrote dozens of letters to each other. The relationship got so serious that marriage was often brought up.
Given his past and current situations, Severus was reluctant to take such a step. Eventually, Severus would buck up the courage to marry Constance. But not without confessing his Death-Eater ways, his job as Dumbledore’s agent and even what had happened to Lily Evans. While that was a lot for Constance to process, she would decide to marry Severus on August 1, 1983. With retired Minister of Magic, Elphinstone Urquart, officiating the elopement, Albus Dumbledore, Minerva McGonagall, and Amelia Cackle served as witnesses.
At first, the newlyweds were in bliss in spite of having to continue their long-distance romance due to their respective jobs. But, as time went on,  problems would start to resurface. And when it’s discovered that a baby was on the way, a scared Severus put divorce on the table. As a result, a heart-broken Constance decided to put their upcoming baby up for adoption in hopes to give him/her a stable upbringing. Something Constance nor Severus could give.
Throughout the months, Constance would hide away in the Flamel House in France thanks to Dumbledore’s friendship with Nicolas and Perenelle Flamel. Amelia Cackle, Minerva McGonagall, Elphinstone Urquart and later Poppy Pomfrey would be around to help. As for Severus, he would visit when not teaching or spying. Yet, he and Constance would hardly speak with each other.
Then, on Christmas morning, a son was born; “Nicholas Brian”. Ecstatic as they were to see their son, Severus and Constance forced themselves back to earth. They finally got around to signing both the divorce and adoption papers and gave the nine-day-old newborn to Elphinstone who would give the baby to Kezia and Huw Hobbes.
In his grief, Severus decided to do something drastic; collect his memories in flasks, put those in a box and have Dumbledore obliviate any memories that involved Constance and their son. A task a solemn Dumbledore agreed to do. As for the box of memories, it would be given to Dumbledore and then to the next headmistress, McGonagall to give to Nicholas Brian if he ever arrived at Hogwarts.
Part 2: Resurrections And Reunions:
In 1998, the Second Wizarding War was fought and won by the Order of the Phoenix. However, among the casualties was none other than Severus Snape. Hated by the Order, it was Harry Potter who would clear the air and explain Snape’s true intentions to the Wizarding World. Yet, Severus had to have his funeral without his corpse for, during the battles, he would be whisked away by an obscure, but dangerous group known as “R”. With most of their former members dead, the remaining party, Verruca Snyde, Patricia Rakepick, Eustace Burke and Kazuhiro Shiratori had managed to escape Azkaban during a 1997 mass breakout. Trying to gain their goal of immortality, the smaller “R” often tried and failed to reach it. Then they came across a peculiar formula that holds to the key to revival. And once finding the body of Severus Snape, they took their chance.
Once the corpse was in their hideout, a concoction was made with the tears of a phoenix, the wings of fairies, the horn of a unicorn, a few plants and the Resurrection Stone. This, the Revival Potion, was what brought Severus Tobias Snape back from the grave with his scars and infamous Death-Mark gone. But this potion came with a cost; with the Resurrection Stone being one of the main properties, Snape’s DNA has been mutated; gaining the Hallow’s powers, he could summon the Heaven-bound at will. All while both of his palms bore the symbol of the Deathly Hallows with the stone emblem being the most pronounced.
Disgusted with what’s been done to him, Severus escaped his captors and lived on his own in the woods of Great Britain. Over time, he created unique potions and mailed them to apothecary shops and St. Mungo’s Hospital under the alias, “Sephtis Surgo”. He would obtain a good portion of wealth as a result, yet remained in isolation. All Severus would have for company were the summoned Dumbledore and Lily Evans.
Then, in the spring of 2006, a potions experiment caused a terrible house fire which would’ve killed Severus had he not been rescued by students of the nearby Cackle’s Academy. As he was cared for by Amelia Cackle and the school nurse, Constance Hardbroom was shocked and lost for words when finding Severus again. Over time, she and Severus had to work to rekindle their troubled flame. Not only that, they would reunite with their long lost son, 22-year-old Nicholas Hobbes of Weirdsister College.

Weirdsister College (2001): Character Names, Spellings, and Performed By (to be reblogged/added to as needed)
The Staff
Professor Alicia Thunderblast (Charmian May) - The head of the College. Experienced witch, trombone player and almost as partial to cakes as Miss Cackle.
Dr. Jenny Wendle (Jaye Griffiths) - An experienced first year tutor, and Millie's mentor. Runs the Witches Practice in town and her knowledge is needed to help save the College.
Dr. Andy Starfinder (Eric Loren) - An American wizard who looks to broaden the boundaries of magic with science and his inventions. Got himself into trouble with Beetle on his 2nd day, by performing magic on a Friday which broke the Bus Spell.
Professor Johnathan Shakeshaft (John Rogan) - The oldest member of staff, teaches (and forgets) various types of magic but spends most of his time asleep. Rumours about him are that he is mad and that he is from medieval times.
Veronica Dewdrop (Jenny Galloway) - 'The Beetle', as the students know her. She takes care of the Foster's Effect and upholds the rules and regulations of the College. She also handles the College's finances, administration and emergency protocols.
Students
Mildred Hubble (Georgina Sherrington) - The main character of The Worst Witch. In this series, based on her artistic skills Millie gained a scholarship to the college.
Ethel Hallow (Felicity Jones) - Ethel is Millie's old nemesis from Cackle's. Ethel returns with a brand new look but the same attitude.
Deirdre Swoop (Stephanie Lane) - Old Hang from Pentangle's Academy, more chilled out in this series but loves a spot of jazz (even donning a trilby hat) and taking part in the annual games.
Cas Crowfeather (Abeille Gelinas, sister of Mitsou Gélinas) - Millie's new best friend, hailing all the way from Canada to attend Weirdsister. She "replaces" Maud Moonshine who does not appear in the series.
Nicholas "Nick" Hobbes (Bobby Barry) - Dark and secretive wizard, not liked by most of the students and has a meglomaniac side to him, it is also often suggested that he has feelings for Mildred.
Azmat Madari (Sacha Dhawan) - Wizard, best friend of Tim, comes from Clitheroe, Lancashire.
Tim Wraithewight (Kent Riley) - Wizard, comes from Bootle near Liverpool and best friend of Azmat.
Minor characters
Ben Stemson (Christian Coulson) - Non-magical worker of Misery's (ran by his mother) and very good friend of Mildred (boyfriend from episode 6).
Elaine Stemson (Heather Wright) - Owner of Misery's, is into New Age Magic and loves her son a lot. She was very troubled when the Beetle threatened to close Misery's.
Miss Hardbroom (Kate Duchêne) - Summoned by magic to test Mildred, to see if she was strong enough to enter Weirdsister as a student. Mildred passed and Miss Hardbroom wished her luck and smiled before returning to Cackles.
Enid Nightshade (Jessica Fox) - Spent two days at Weirdsister after running away from Primrose Hill (another magic university) to see Millie, but leaves after revealing that she had been expelled from Primrose Hill for "over-partying".

About The Snape-Hardbroom-Hobbes Connection:
You know, considering that Snape was bullied relentlessly for his looks, it makes one wonder how he’d react to Nicholas Hobbes (his son in my headcanon) having two girls fight over him throughout the “Weirdsister College” show.
Like...would Snape be impressed that his ugly self made a hearthrob or horrified that he made another James Potter?
Severus Snape: Nicholas, my son, it has come to my attention that you managed to charm your way into college, is that correct?
Nicholas Hobbes: Not entirely; it was only Ethel Hallow and Mildred Hubble that seemed to fancy me.
Severus Snape:...Two girls?
Nicholas Hobbes: Yeah.
Severus Snape: Not only one?
Nicholas Hobbes: Apparently so.
Severus Snape: And they had fought for your affections?
Nicholas Hobbes: Seems like it.
Severus Snape: Son...well done.
Nicholas Hobbes:...I don’t think that’s something to be proud of...
Constance Hardbroom: IT ISN’T!
Severus Snape: Constance, dear, try to understand; back at school, everyone loathed my very existence. You were the only exception!
Constance Hardbroom: Oh really?
*Cue Flashback Of Student Severus Brooding Around The Hogwarts Halls And Passing By Camelia Reding, Aurora Sinistra And Charity Burbage.*
Young Aurora Sinistra: Hey, Severus, would you like to go with me to the Astronomy Tower?
Young Camelia Reding: Want to spend the summer holiday with me and my family, Severus? We’re going to Milan in July!
Young Charity Burbage: Want to have dinner with me tonight, Severus? You like pumpkin juice, right?

Headcanons For The Snape-Hardbroom-Hobbes Family (From 1984-1987):
Tumblr media
*CONTEXT: From August 1st, 1984 to April of 1987, Severus Snape and Constance Hardbroom were married. Yet, the union had to be secret (with a few in the know) due to various reasons; Severus had his Death-Eater past, was serving as Dumbledore's spy (factors Constance was aware of before the elopement) along with the pair being of different Wizarding "breeds". Constance (and the rest of the Murphy Wizards/Ex-Codices) were forbidden to marrying magical Imperiums (Rowling Wizards) with Squibs and Muggles being the exceptions. So, when signing the marriage documents, Severus went with the alias of "Basil Brennan" while Constance went with "Sophronia Maidenhair". Unfortunately "Basil' and "Sophronia" were forced to annull under the ruling of the Ex-Codice's High Magic Council when the then 5-month-old Nicholas was plagued with a ailment due to his mixed magical heritage. With Severus and Constance being forced to seperate, little Nicholas was placed in the Ex-Codice's orphanage, Orbana Hart's Home For Wizarding Children. Heartbroken and desperate to keep Constance and Nicholas safe from Voldemort or any Death-Eaters, Severus had Dumbledore remove his memories. Much to the upset of Constance.*
Ok...with all of that out the way, here are the headcanons:
-Severus had told Constance of his Death-Eater past and his indirect role in the deaths of James and Lily Potter. Needless to say, Constance was shock and furious. She wouldn't have seen Severus again had it not been for Cackle's Academy hosting a dinner during the Summer Holiday. Severus, as one of the teachers, was invited (at Dumbledore's behest).
-After a battling a group of wizard terrorist that had nearly killed them, Severus and Constance decided to elope the very next day (they blame it on adrenaline).
-Elphinestone Urquart (husband of Minerva McGonagall) was the officiator due to his former job in the Ministry Of Magic.
-When the two first started dating, Severus would write Constance poems with flowers. In turn, Constance would gift Severus with things he needed (updates potions books, journals, etc.). These exchanges would continue throughout their marriage.
-As they had their own jobs at Hogwarts and Cackle's, Severus and Constance would only communicate via writing. To do this, Severus would use various owls at Hogwarts to through any suspicious outsider off the scent.
-During the holidays, Severus and Constance would meet at the former's home at Spinner's End (as Constance lived at Cackle's Academy).
-When together, the two would study spells, concoct new potions, and engage in friendly duels. Other activities would include strolling along either the Cokeworth streets or at the nearby river. They preferably did these walks either at night, in the fog or when it would rain.
-Both Constance and Severus could speak Latin, and French to each other. Comes in handy when they're in public.
-Though Severus adored Constance, he was still secrective with her whenever the subject of his own fears were involved. Even when he'd had horrible dreams of being an abusive husband/father, he still be on gaurd about it.
-Nicholas wasn't born at Spinner's End thanks to Dumbledore. Albus was a close friend of Nicolas and Perenelle Flamel who gave Constance a safe haven from March all the way to thee middle of November. All while Amelia Cackle, Minerva McGonagall, Madame Pomfrey along with the Flamel's bodygaurd, Olu Kama and their healer, Shari Kowalski, helped out.
-As for Severus, he would stay at the Flamel's House with Constance during holidays. But when he had to return to Hogwarts he would continue writing her letters, helping Madame Pomfrey provide safe potions and try to seee Constance during the weekends thanks to portkeys.
-To prepare themselves for parenthood, Constance and Severus read and took notes from the books Cackle and McGonagall had given them. For further help, Severus would help (an unknowing) Pomona Sprout with the latest batch of mandrakes.
-On the 5th of November, Bonfire Night (a Wednesday), "Nicholas Stephen Hardbroom-Snape" would be born a healthy baby. He would even prove his strong magical abilities when sneezing sparks at only an hour old. As Ex-Codices were usually more "Muggle-Like" and never really show their magic until going to wizard school, Constance was concerned. Severus, on the other hand, was rather proud.
-Nicholas could hold up his head at a two days old and roll over at five weeks. He was a pretty adamant and smart baby. And a mischevious one at that...
-With Nicholas born in November of '86, this mens he was born during the Third Year of "Hogwarts Mystery".
-Nicholas was named after Mr. Flamel, himself. As for the "Stephen", it was the only other name Severus and Constance could agree on. Severus wanted "Salazar", "Tybalt" or "Jareth" while Constance wanted "Xander", "Mercutio" or "Heathcliff".
-When the new family returned to Spinner's End, Cackle, McGonagall and even Dumbledore would help out.
-Constance's cat, Morgana, would be rather fond of Severus and later of Nicholas when he came along.
-To put Nicholas to sleep, Severus enchanted a baby mobile to jingle "In Noctem". Little Nick would sleep within seconds.
-At about 4 months old, Nicholas may've set Severus on fire. Constance told Severus not to give his wand to the baby...
-McGonagall would gift little Nicholas the "Railway Series" by the Rev. W. Awdry along with "Tales Of Beetle The Bard". As for Miss. Cackle, she'd gift the boy with Grahame's "The Wind In The Willows" and Andersen's "The Snow Queen".
-To enable herself to go out with baby Nicholas, Constance got the idea to put the (temporary/reversible) "Witch-Over" spell on herself and on Severus when he's with her.
-By Ex-Codice law, Nicholas would be an Ex-Codice by his mother's side. As a result he would be given a staff instead of wands or brooms. He also wouldn't go to Imperium's Hogwarts or Durmstrange, but to Codice schools like Camelot College, or Moonridge High. That still didn't stop Severus, Minerva and Albus from dressing Nicholas in Slytherin baby clothes or giving him a toy broomstick...no matter how much the tradionalist Constance would protest...
-As Constance already had some experience due to having a younger brother, she was more than able to handle baby Nick with no problem. As for Severus...he struggled. It wasn't the feedings, nor the crying, not even the nappy-changes (he could handle all of that). Yet, he never thought any kid he would have could be so CUTE "endearing".

A Discussion On The Snape-Harbroom-Hobbes Relation:
CONTEXT: Before the “Harry Potter” films and the 1998 “Worst Witch” series, Snape and Hardbroom had secretly married and divorced. Their son, the future Nicholas Hobbes (of the “Worst Witch” spin-off, “Weirdsister College”), was a product of that union and given to another family to raise as their own. Fortunately, the family of three would reunite in 2006 under supernatural means. Long story short, members of R/The Cabal (of “Hogwarts Mystery”), had managed to resurrect Snape through a potion made with the Resurrection Stone. Snape would be revived and escape but would struggle to get his new life together. That’s when Constance Hardbroom renters his life...
Anyway, the (much older) Golden Trio and the Malfoys would be a part of the story. The Golden Trio due to investigating the murders/assault of Nicholas’s adopted parents (not sure if I should kill them off or not). The Malfoys thanks to Rita Skeeter’s scandalized rendition of Severus and Constance’s love story. This brings the question on how each of the characters would/should react to the revelation. Not only that but Severus Snape being revived and living in seclusion for years with them being completely unaware.
Would they all be mad? Would be in shock? Would any of these characters try to reach out to Severus, Constance or Nicholas? Would Lucius want to kill Severus out of revenge for either going against Voldemort? Would he hate Severus for leaving the likes of Lucius to be thrown under the bus after the Second Wizarding War? Would they all want to help protect Nicholas Hobbes from the likes of R/The Cabal in the R/Cabal’s efforts to track Snape down? Would any of the Golden Trio or the Malfoys even continue to keep in touch with Snape at the end of the story? And what about the Weasleys? How would they react?
I can see the Golden Trio being a bit apprehensive when finding out Hobbes’s origins and would comfort him. Though, would Harry take the role of a big-brother figure/Godfather like how he would be with Teddy Lupin (which could be a way to reconcile the Snape and Lupin families)? Or would those brotherly/Godfather roles be more fitted with Draco Malfoy as he and Hobbes would give a good parrellel to Harry and Teddy?
As for the staff of Hogwarts and Cackle’s Academy, the only people who knew of Nicholas Hobbes prior to the events of the fic would’ve been Amelia Cackle, Minerva McGonagall, Madame Pomfrey and Albus Dumbledore. There was also Minerva’s husband, Elphinstone Urquart (who offieciated snape and Hardbroom’s elopement, divorce and gave baby Nicholas to his new family), Nicolas Flamel and his wife, Perenelle (thanks to Dumbledore, they allowed Constance and Severus to hide at the Flamel House when their son was born). However, Elphinstone and the Flamels had been long gone. So this kinda makes me wonder if Hagrid, Neville Longbottom, and the other professors should have a part in the story.
Then there’s the public. There’s no doubt the reveal of Snape fathering a secret child would cause excitement. But, in my fic, the “Worst Witch” wizards are of a sect called “Ex-Codice” with the “Harry Potter” wizards being known as “Estne” “Stultus” or “Stultum” (can’t decide which). For their strict following of tradition and the ancient Witches Code, the Ex-Codice are dubbed as “The Inmates” by the Estne. In turn, the Ex-Codice would call their rivals, “The Barmy Ones” for their tendency to show off their magical ways. Bascially, the Estne are Protestants while Ex-Codice are Catholics. So with the Estne Wizard, Severus Snape being found to have married and having a child with the Ex-Codice Witch, Constance Hardbroom, a scandal could arise. But, to what extent? Was the hatred just a rivalry or a hatred as bad as the hate towards Muggles? Would it be like the Troubles War (Catholic vs. Protestants) in the UK?
What are your thoughts?

A Discussion On The Snape-Hardbroom-Hobbes Story:
So you know how my story is making Nicholas Hobbes the son of Severus Snape and Constance Hardbroom? I'm kinda stumped on his reaction. He would find out from looking into the Hogwarts' Pensieve that was filled with the memories of Snape and Hardbroom.
It would show Hobbes how they had met, decided to elope, had him and divorced shortly after. The Pensieve would also show Snape having Dumbledore Obliviate/magically alter his memories. Thus, erasing any memory Snape had with Hardbroom and their then-newborn son.
From this fact and that Snape was a former Death-Eater, how would Hobbes cope? Would he be angry? Would he think Snape and Hardbroom didn't find him good enough to keep him? Would Hobbes be repulsed by just Snape's actions or also Hardbroom's? What would Hobbes' reaction be?
CONTEXT: Hobbes would be born in secret at the Flamel House in France. For nine days, he would be with Snape and Hardbroom until both the divorce and adopion papers were finalized under Elphinstone Urquart. As a result, Orphona Hart (an former classmate of Amelia Cackle) would take the newborn Nicholas to her orphanage. There, Hobbes would stay for practically al of his life as many canditates often rejected him for one reason or another. By the time he was 11, Hobbes would persuade Hart and/or her staff to enroll him into Prospero's School For Wizards. A deciscion Hobbes may've regretted as he was often picked on. It would take a turn for the worse when the then-Head Boy/Prefects locked him out of the bulding in a blizzard. Thus making Hobbes more adamant than ever to be the most powerful wizard alive until "Weirdsister College".

More Fun With Nicholas's Name:
Ethel Hallow: You know what I've always wondered about you?
Nicholas Hobbes: What?
Ethel Hallow: Why do you always want to be called "Hobbes"? Formality?
Nicholas Hobbes: And dignity.
Constance Hardbroom: Now, what do you mean by "Dignity"? "Nicholas" is an excellent name.
Nicholas Hobbes: I object! It's embarrassing!
Severus Snape: It is not! We've named you after Nicolas Flamel! You of all wizards should be feeling honoured!
Nicholas Hobbes: I do feel honoured by that. But the name has a very...unfortunate connection with my birthday...
Constance Hardbroom: Nonsense! It was very appropriate for our adorable little "Christmas Baby" :3 .

Baby Nick Hobbes:

(I own nothing.)
Constance Hardbroom: Are you sure letting him play with your wand is a good idea, Severus?
Severus Snape: I believe so, Connie. From my oberservations, he's already showing his talents with it. Besides, I thought you want him to be a prodigy.
Baby Nicholas: *Thinking* "Laugh while you can, genetic forebearers! You won't be dealing with the average baby anymore!"

Timing With Nick Hobbes:
So, with that Snape-Hardbroom-Hobbes fic I'm working on, I initially was going to have Nick be born on Christmas morning, 1987. It would've been a sweet (but saddening) present for both Snape and Hardbroom who had to give Nick up for adoption a few days later.
However, with Nick being a first year in "Weirdsister College", he had to have started school at 11 in 1998. The same time as Mildred Hubble and Ethel Hallow. So, had he been born in December of 1987, he would've been 10 in September of 1998.
Granted, Nick's birthday could be Christmas, 1986, but there's a problem. In "Hogwarts Mystery", Christmas of 1986 was when Snape was looking after Hogwarts (including Charlie Weasley) and was given the Holiday Blancmange on Boxing Day.
Granted, his more depressed mood at this time could've been due to his and Constance's failing upcoming divorce, along with Nick's adoption arrangements. And used his longing for the Blancmange as a cover-up as Snape and Hardbroom's marriage and child were kept in extreme secrecy. Only Dumbledore, Pomfrey, McGonagall, Amelia Cackle, Nicolas and Perenelle Flamel were in on it all. Besides, this is SNAPE we're talking about-like he'd tell a student such personal matters.
There's also the matter of when Severus could've been able to see Constance and their newborn son. Along with the matter of (most likely) being more irritable, anxious and upset that he had to be busy with the school/working overtime rather than spending the remaining time with his family. How did Snape, Pomfrey or McGonagall NOT give Dumbledore grief with all of this in mind?
The same could be said for January 1st, 1987, New Year's Day. This holiday should also be fitting as (in my opinion), Nick seems like a Winter child. Yet, wouldn't Snape still be in charge of Hogwarts.
Another contender could be August 1st, 1987 as that holds the holiday, Lughnasadh, which is said to celebrate Lugh; diety of kingship, war, and skills among other things. And if we know anything about Snape, Hardbroom and/or Hobbes, it would be a little bit fitting. Even if this would make Hobbes more of a Summer child...
There's also November 5th, which holds Guy Fawkes' Night. On the one hand, it'd be fitting as the autumn suits Hobbes season-wise. Not to mention, if my research is correct, their is something rebellious about the holiday; almost like Nick, himself. Yet, the real rebel, Fawkes, was defeated. Another irony is that Constance Hardbroom's school, Cackle's Academy was based off of Jill Murphy ("Worst Witch" author)'s experiences...at a Catholic school...
In other words, the "Murphy" Wizards/Ex-Codices are the Catholics while the "Rowling" Wizards/Imperiums are the Protestants. Make that what you will...
Anyway...
