CQL and Genre Intertextuality
I'm being bashed over the head with the "nhs's fan in CQL is made of xuantie/dark iron" thing again and @poorlittleyaoyao please understand that I am thinking of this constantly since you made that post talking about it because I'm just.
holding my head in my hands bc ye gods the cql show writers were genre savvy in ways that are hilarious but also make me feel like I've been hit upside the head with a waffle iron.
For those of us who are no longer damaged by the post or hadn't seen it (I don't actually know where it's gone bc the search feature doesn't work on this webbed site):
Xuantie/Dark Iron is a Jin Yong created metal that famously was used for the blade of the Dragon Slaying Sabre in the third novel of the Condor Trilogy, 倚天屠龍記/The Heavenly Sword and Dragon Saber.
The Heaven Reliant Sword 倚天劍 was created from Yang Guo and Xiao Longnv's Gentleman and Lady swords, whilst the Dragon Slaying Saber 屠龍刀 was created from Grandmaster Dugu Seeking-a-Loss's Dark Iron Sword.
Can we please all take a moment to appreciate how NHS's fan not his saber, NHS, from The Family With The Sabers, gets to shout about how his fan is made of xuantie. The most famous for being the metal that made up The Dragon Slaying Saber. His fan. Not his saber. his fan. dark iron. Dragon Slaying Saber. This is so funny I'm about to mcfucking lose it yet again while typing this.
Going back to Grandmaster Dugu Seeking-A-Loss (who appears in both Return of the Condor Heroes and Xiao Ao Jianghu) and his giant pet condor (sadly, only a ROCH feature) who might've been his one true soulmate for a second, this situation from episode 7, when the Yunmeng Siblings are leaving the Cloud Recesses:
Now, the subtitles here really DO NOT do this line justice because when I first saw it it took me FLAT THE FUCK OUT and I had to lie on the floor laughing for like, 80 seconds before I got my breath back.
Okay, what this line ACTUALLY says is "I am Dugu Qiubai (Grandmaster Dugu Seeking-A-Loss), what's wrong with seeking a match?"
Now, to understand this, we come to this backstory on Dugu Qiubai in XAJH:
“Senior master Dugu Seeking-A-Loss, who created this set of sword techniques, had a name ‘Seeking-A-Loss.’ He had been seeking a loss all his life and still couldn’t get one. Once the sword techniques were executed, he would become unmatched anywhere in the world. Why would he have to defend? If anyone could have forced him to draw his sword back and defend himself, the respectful master would have burst with joy and be delighted beyond measure.” Feng Qingyang said. “Dugu Seeking-A-Loss, Dugu Seeking-A-Loss,” Linghu Chong muttered as he imagined how the senior master had wandered about the Martial World, unmatched anywhere, with only his sword, and couldn’t even find a single one who was capable of forcing him into a defending stance. That was truly admirable.
from Chapter Ten of XAJH: Sword Training.
"If anyone could force him to draw his sword back to defend himself, the grandmaster would have burst with joy and be delighted beyond measure" DO YOU SEE WHY JC STARTED CALLING WWX SHAMELESS NOW. they're JUNIORS. WWX is calling himself "the greatest man of all, who'd sought the feeling of losing just ONCE being forced to defend himself just ONCE in a LIFETIME" and saying "LWJ might be my equal. my soulmate. the loss I was seeking my whole life."
All 15 years of it I'm sure, WWX.
I'm not going to get into finding martial arts manuals or a respected grandmaster who taught you incredible things in a cave bc 1) LHC and Feng Qingyang up there are sitting together, in a cave and LHC is being taught incredible things and 2) Duan Yu from Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils once found the magic finger lasers of ultra laser in a cave. In front of the statue of a goddess. (don't talk about the dancing goddess statue now, Tav. We don't have time for that in this post.)
Not kidding the intertextuality of CQL and how much it plays with and against the tropes of its genre, especially other wuxia tv adaptations as well as wuxia novels is insane. There's other ones I'm missing for certain and these were just the most funny to me, personally, but! just! oh my god! insane! insane! SO funny, so clever in so many ways
#meta#my meta#wei wuxian#nie huaisang#nie huaisang my beloved#I don't even know how to begin to explain how much this show and its show writers really KNOW its genre#there are certain shots where I'm like#'oh god that's an exact mirroring of the composition of this other shot in a show made like 20 years earlier!!!'#no cql doesn't know what a pacing is and there's four episodes of guanyin temple#but my god do these people who made this show really love wuxia and it really really shows#and that's lovely I'm so happy about it

Jimin couldn't contain the soft, exciting flutters he felt in his heart. You were so sweet, surprising his pack with a little sweet treat. How cute was that?
The alpha decided then and there that he would try his very best to help you make the tastiest, creamiest cupcakes that have ever existed.
„Should we start then, baby princess?” He asked you gently, pulling slightly from you and letting his hands rest on your cheeks.
His eyes were soft and held a caring gaze, just as every time Jimin looked at you. Your tiny nod made him smile once again, gently pecking the top of your head before he pulled away.
„What are the ingredients we need, precious?” The alpha said gently, combing through your hair. He has worn his own apron by now too, and so both of you were ready to start baking.
You read the list of things needed for the almond cupcakes and the vanilla butter cream; the ingredients were quite many.
Even though the pack had very fine almond flour and even almond milk, Jimin felt guilt pang at his heart when he realised that they didn't have the almond butter needed.
„Baby Princess, we don't have that; Alpha is very sorry; How about we use just the regular unsalted butter instead?” He softly said, looking at you.
The little shrug of the shoulders he received in answer made him smile a little. It would be an okay substitute, he came to the conclusion, and so he took out the butter and placed it on the counter with the growing pile of other things.
„...and half a cup of s-sliced almonds.” You said everything needed for the batter is now named. Jimin nodded a little, going over to the tall cupboard before he opened it.
There were a few things laying around, mostly a few glasses of honey and different sweet sauces, but there were also a few packages of nuts as the alpha rummaged through, pulling out the almonds.
The eldest packmate would often bake and cook when he would get stressed, before important comebacks, or when he was about to have his first concert of his own solo music.
Jin was a really good baker and had a lot of experience with certain things; the alpha always knew how to use the seemingly intricate devices Jimin had never seen in person.
Whenever they had more free time, nowdays more often as they entered the hiatus era and had more time to do what they wished to do, not what was required, Jin started enjoying baking more and more.
The eldest enjoyed the precision, especially when he could use the new things, gadgets, and techniques he had just learned.
He would often make simpler things to eat, but from time to time, a very complicated dish would also be mastered.
And so, things like churros or éclairs, focaccia bread, banana bread, or a strawberry cream cake were quite usual to be seen.
The last time, though, the eldest made the prettiest macaroons, pink in colour, and the texture was like no other.
Since then, a short while has passed, and you have entered their lives now, but Jimin was in no doubt Jin would be a much better baker and overall cook to guide you through the recipe.
He could also imagine the elder grumbling about you cooking with the younger first, rather than with him.
For sure, though, he would quickly forgive and forget when he got to taste the sweet treats you two would make for the pack. If they go well, that is.
Jimin started preheating the oven to a quite high temperature, quickly coming back to your side to start preparing the batter with you; the electronic scale was already out.
„Here, princess, you pour the flour in, and I'll tell you when it's the right weight. Don't worry, Alpha will take good care of everything precious." He said gently to you, ripping open the sealed, regular flour package.
You nodded a little, carefully scooping into the bowl large spoonfuls after spoonfuls, the older man gently stopping you after you hit the right amount.
You reached for the almond flour next, and the phone with the opened instructions was before the both of you, so you only took a short glance.
Though, as you tried to pull apart the tightly sealed packaging, you couldn't do much; your fingers were either too slippery or something else was wrong.
Jimin heard you whine from where he was very lightly greasing up the silicone moulds for the future cupcakes, abandoning whatever he was doing and coming over right away.
„Aigoo, princess, Alpha will help; it's okay, baby." He said gently, cooing softly as he pecked your temple sweetly before he took the packaging from you, quickly opening it for you.
You both repeated the process, weighting the almond flour, continuing on with the baking powder and baking soda, and the vanilla sugar package.
Jimin helped you whisk the dry ingredients together, showing you how to hold the whisk correctly when he saw your slightly awkward grip.
The alpha smiled softly as he saw the excitement. He gently hugged you close to himself, letting his cheek rub up against your hair.
You didn't smell so happy since you came to them; even when they could sense in your scent from time to time that you were excited, it was only now this sweet to Jimin's nose.
He took out another bowl, going to prepare the wet ingredients. First he started cracking the six eggs, having your palms sweetly hidden underneath his, as he carefully cracked the last two eggs with your help.
None of the shell got inside, making you smile widely. You were used to first dropping the egg in a separate cup so a shell wouldn't possibly ruin any progress, as you weren't that good at fishing it out.
Quick to praise you, Jimin let his chin rub up against your hair sweetly, his own smile almost blinding. „My 'mega is so clever, hm?” He said softly, happy to have you safe and close.
You both washed your hands soon after and went on with the second bowl, adding in the granulated sugar, vegetable oil, almond milk, and butter, even though it that meant to be a bit different.
The alpha helped you mix up the seemingly stubborn butter; even when you placed it in the microwave earlier, it still had small pieces unmelted in it, and soon after, you poured the liquid into the flour mix.
There was quite a lot to whisk together, and so when you tried but couldn't do much, Jimin was quick to reassure you, quickly combining the two and making sure not to overmix.
„Here baby, how about you prepare the almonds now, while is whisk, princess? We just have to fold those in soon, precious.” He said gently.
You nodded happily, measuring half the cup of the sliced almonds, and just as you finished, Jimin gently let you pour in a bit at the time, folding the batter over so everything would get well combined.
„Princess, you did such a great job! Let's prepare the cupcakes and have them bake now, okay?” You nodded happily, the alpha bringing over the pan that had the silicone mould already placed on it.
With the alpha's sweet help, you carefully scooped the batter into each of the cups so none would overfill. You soon filled up the whole twelve-cup form.
Pecking your forehead happily, Jimin took the tray before he carried it over to the oven, making sure you weren't too close so the warmed-up air wouldn't harshly hit you before he placed the pan inside.
He helped you set the timer on his phone, and so while the 23 minutes were counted down, you and him started the cream that would then be put on top.
„Here, sweet princess, alpha will help." He said gently, taking the cleaned-up whisk before he started beating the butter, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until a thicker consistency was created.
The vanilla butter cream didn't take too much time to make, with the alpha letting you carefully add in the almond milk one tablespoon at a time until the right consistency was achieved.
„Precious, here have a little... Is it good?” You let Jimin scoop up a little bit of the icing, letting you taste the cream. It was very tasty, that was for sure.
„It's good, oppa!” You smiled, the alpha having a small taste himself, nodding approvingly. And so, he helped you transfer it all into a star tip piping bag, carefully placing it into the fridge so it wouldn't turn too liquid over time.
„Princess, look at the different sprinkles and things we can try, and alpha will clean up quickly." Jimin said gently, washing his hands underneath the faucet after you had
You nodded a little, going over to the large table where the alpha had previously taken out all the different decorations that could be used.
You decided that you liked the white, pearl-like sprinkles the best, along with the pastel-coloured, circular regular ones.
The edible flowers caught your attention, and so, out of everything, you decided to decorate the now-cooling cupcakes with them too.
You showed the alpha, the man, making sure to praise your choice well, claiming that „Those will be so cute together, princess! Great choice; alphas will for sure be very happy!”
And so he helped you put the ones of your choice aside before he started putting all of the other ones away, carefully storing them back in a box.
Soon after, Jimin realised that it would probably be a good idea to have something for lunch, as the earliest of the noon was arriving quickly.
The man looked into the fridge, taking out a few of the leftovers. He would feel much better if he had made you a fresh dish, but that would probably take him quite a while, and he wasn't sure if he would have the time for that.
And so, he soon reheated the stir-fried rice and the chicken popcorn, still left from a bit ago, plating you a good meal.
After handing you a glass of orange juice, he too took a seat and went on to eat.
The alpha, just as usual, fed you mostly himself, choosing the tastiest and best-looking bites of meat to please your taste buds.
„Baby princess here, have a little more." He would say gently, giving you another forkful of rice and feeding you while smiling widely.
„Koji called Jungkookie earlier today; he and Moonsik want to go with you somewhere this afternoon; would you like to go precious?”
Jimin asked you sweetly, having you currently chew on a piece of thinly sliced pickled radish. Your big eyes made him waver a bit; he thought you liked the omega?
„Princess, don't worry, you don't have to go if you don't want to! It's okay, sweetheart-"
„B-But the cupcakes?” You whined softly, a small pout on your lips. Jimin breathed out a little, nervous for a second that you didn't want to go because of something else.
„No, don't worry, princess. We can finish them right after the food, hm? You can go out after, how about that?” Jimin would have to leave soon anyway, and the alpha felt better having you with someone than completely alone.
„O-okay!” You said, a small smile on your lips as the alpha smiled widely himself, pecking your temple gently.
Soon, the lunch was finished, and the alpha loaded the dishwasher after he carefully helped you take out the cupcakes, handing you the icing too.
You sat at the dining table once again, practicing your icing skills on a small part of the tray where there was enough space, while Jimin went to make the call with Moonsik.
You didn't really listen in, going to try and ice your first cupcake, wanting it to be very perfect for the alphas.
It had to be more than perfect, you told yourself, and just as you went to try your best, Jimin approached you, his hand gently combing through your hair.
„Princess, Moonsik Hyung wants to speak with you, baby." The alpha gently chucked, handing you the phone as he gently helped you take the icing from your seemingly too busy hands.
You took the call to your ear, a bit unsure of what you were meant to say, choosing to whisper out an almost inaudible: Hello?
„Y/N? Hey, it's Moonsik from the mall... How are you?” The beta's voice was velvety and smooth, sweet to your ears. Not as sweet as your oppa's voices, though.
„Hi M-Moonsik, I'm okay...” You said softly, unsurely looking over at the alpha while he wiped down the counter and the table, the man encouraging you with his sweet eyes.
„That's good; I'm glad. Yuki has been asking about you all the time, and he would really like to go somewhere with you again, so maybe if you have time and-”
In the background of the call, you could hear a voice you recognised well—the seemingly always excited and happy omega talking loud enough for it to be audible.
„Is that Y/N? Hyungie, let's talk with her!” The younger whined, and the beta was talking with a hushed voice, saying that he would get to talk to you later.
„I w-would like to g-go please...” You said quietly, a bit nervous about any sudden rejection you might not expect. Though you were met with none, Moonsik answered.
„Okay, great! I'm sure Yuki will be very happy to hear that, and I'm excited too. Let's meet in front of the art store again, like last time. When is the right time for you?”
You weren't sure if the beta expected you to have a packed schedule; though he was very far from right.
You would continue your studies hopefully soon, and you still had that doctor appointment in close time as your heat was coming closer and closer, but other than that...
Your shoulders shrugged unconsciously, not realising that the beta on the other side wouldn't be able to see. You looked over to Jimin; the alpha just took a seat to your right.
„Wh-when should I-I go oppa?” You whispered, hoping that Moonsik wouldn't hear. Considering the voice of Yuki on the other side of the call, the beta had a bit to worry about now.
„Well, I have to go to a photoshoot at 14.00, so I'll have to leave a little bit before that. Do you want to go with someone or alone?” He asked softly, combing through your hair.
You were definitely not ready to go completely on your own; the thought was very overwhelming. You liked Yuki, and you liked Moonsik, but going with them both on your own was quite nerve-wracking.
„Wi-th a-alpha...” You whispered, Jimin noticing how your scent got more anxious and worried and immediately nodding.
„That's okay, princess. Someone will go with you, hm? How about you meet up with them at 14.00?” That was a good hour and a half away, and so you nodded, telling Moonsik about yours and Jimin's suggestion.
Soon after, the meet-up was planned, with the beta saying sweet goodbyes and Yuki in the background excitedly talking about the stores he wanted to go to with you.
You handed the phone back to the alpha, the man gently kissing your temple. And so, you got back to the decorating, making your first swirl with the icing.
„Princess, you are so clever! Alpha is very proud." Jimin gasped softly, watching as you carefully placed the individual pearls and sprinkled the colourful ones.
The alpha helped you take out the edible flowers, letting you find the best spot for each one. You were a natural, and the alpha noticed, making sure to praise you well whenever you finished a cupcake.
He helped you sweetly, taking the finished and decorated cupcakes and putting them into the paper wrappings he took out earlier, gently putting them on a clean, large plate.
Jimin made sure to not mess up any of your cute work; none of the carefully iced sharp tops even touched, and the vanilla butter icing kept clean.
With the star tip, it looked very cute, the alpha came to a conclusion, snapping a few photos of you while you iced.
He didn't get to take many pictures while you both were preparing the batter, but now he had time, and he decided to fill up his whole gallery with you.
And so you decorated prettily, the cupcakes having cute, flowery fairy vibes, maybe reminding you a little bit of wedding cake considering that the icing was only a little bit off white.
You could have coloured it, you realised, but you liked how everything looked, with the small pops of colour adding to it and making everything look pretty.
„Princess, you did so well! Alpha is very happy and proud, my precious baby; that's so nice!” He gushed, taking photos of the cupcakes, claiming that they looked: „Just like from a five-star bakery!”
Jimin was sure that you were a secretly hidden baker, and he was also very sure that when his packmates saw the cupcakes and the cute photos, they would lose their minds.
Soon after, you and the alpha cleaned up, letting the pretty-looking pastries stay on the kitchen table for the packmembers to oogle at and stare at when they would come back to the packhouse sometime that day.
It didn't take too long before it was only about half an hour until 14, and so Jimin helped you tie your shoes properly, having you take on a thick puffer jacket and a beanie, not wanting you to get cold.
„There you go, my princess. 's you stay nice and warm for alphas." He whispered gently, putting on his coat and boots.
The outside weather stayed cold and snowy, and so as the alpha opened the front doors, he held your hand tightly, not wanting you to slip on the ice hidden underneath the snow.
Jimin led you quickly to the garage, choosing one of his cars he would drive today. He took you to the Porsche Panamera, the black, shiny car pretty and obviously expensive.
He unlocked the doors quickly, opening the entrance as he helped you settle in, quickly bending over to buckle you in, and pecking your forehead.
The alpha smiled at you widely for a few seconds, his cheek rubbing up against yours sweetly, before he closed the doors for you and climbed into the driver seat, turning on the heating right away.
The inside of the vehicle was quite cold, and so he held your hands in his for a good few seconds, gently rubbing them with his and breathing on them, warming your icy fingers up.
Soon, the interior got warmer, though, and so when Jimin claimed it was warm enough and your cheeks didn't remind him of ice popsicles when he would touch them anymore, he let the garage doors open and started driving out of the house.
„Princess, what should we listen to, precious baby?” He asked you gently as he looked carefully both ways before he entered the road on his way towards Hybe.
You turned on the touchscreen, going over to the radio and podcast options, unsure what would be better. Jimin glanced over shortly, keeping his eyes on the road.
„At the bottom left are the nice stations that will keep my little 'mega happy and settled, hm? Let's play those, princess."
The alpha said gently, helping you select the right station he has previously bought the subscription for.
Jimin was very happy he got so many opportunities to spoil you, not only in different ways to settle and keep you safe and calm, but in other things too.
To be truthful, he had bought quite a few things for you already. He wasn't about to stop anytime soon; the alpha visited Tiffany & Co. quite often, for he was the brand's ambassador for once, but he liked their jewellery a lot in general.
The alpha has already purchased you a few things, some pretty-looking sets that reminded him of you.
He noticed you didn't have your ears pierced, which made sense to the alpha quite a lot.
Omegas were normally quite sensitive, and to be honest, Jimin couldn't even remember once meeting one that had any piercings.
He didn't mind, though, and was completely content with having you wear whatever was most comfortable and nice for you.
And so, as the soft, lo-fi-like music played through the good sound system of the vehicle, the alpha drove carefully over to the Hybe building.
Jimin let you take his phone when you got bored along the ride, your little fingers grasping the device as you took little photos and videos of the things you were passing by, the snow and sun making everything glittery and pretty.
He couldn't help but coo at you, seeing how excited you were in the background, making sure to keep fully quiet so no noise would disturb your video footage.
You even turned off the radio again, claiming that that wouldn't sound nice in the video, having Jimin giggle lightly.
The alpha soon shushed though, so he wouldn't disturb you, and just drove safely, having you take videos upon videos of the birds sitting on the side roads when they would wait at the red light.
When you arrived at the underground garage, Jimin got out of the car first, carefully pocketing his phone before he went over to you.
Opening the doors, the alpha smiled softly at you, undoing your seatbelt before he tightly zipped up the jacket they got for you, helping you up.
„Here, baby, alpha has got you. Let's go now, hm? Someone is waiting for you already!” He said, wanting you to be surprised by whichever alpha chose to spend your time today with you.
He must have succeeded, as you jiggled your shoulders in excitement, pulling Jimin towards the doors that would lead further into the building.
The alpha chuckled softly, locking up the car before he took your hand, tightly holding it as he kissed the top of your head.
„Let's go then, eager beaver.” He chuckled lightly, opening up the doors with his own keycard, before letting you enter first and calling the elevator.
You bounced on your feet. Not only were you excited to have made the cupcakes with the alpha to surprise the others today, one of them would even go with you to the mall!
And Yuki and Moonsik would be there with you, and that for sure would be great fun, you thought, and so you tugged on Jimin's hand lightly, a sweet whine leaving you.
How much longer was this elevator ride going to take?
The alpha smiled widely, his nose brushing up against your temple and coming over to yours as he gently gave you a bunny kiss.
„Aigoo, princess, don't worry. Not much longer.” He tried to calm you down, smiling softly. Just than did the elevetor ding, arriving to one of the highest levels of the building.
The doors opened, and when you saw the packmate, waiting right behind them, your smile grew wide, quickly jumping over.
You hugged the man tightly, the alpha picking you up before he let his chin rub over your hair.
„My sweetest little pup, baby, alpha missed you!” The packalpha gushed, happy to have you in his arms again.

Mini Mac # 28 : Snatchable lil guy
Macaque is getting kidnapped with Sanzang!
Perhaps they should have been more cautious. It's not as if Macaque wasn't aware that the journey was dangerous but he usually never participated in battles, staying in the back with the frightened monk. He left the fighting to the golden-furred monkey. He would never admit it but Wukong's fighting form was quite beautiful, he couldn't help but sneak a glance or two every time the sage wielded his staff. The wind made sure to remind him of his wandering eyes at every opportunity, it was becoming quite infuriating.
Macaque sighed as he looked up at the tied-up young monk. Sanzang looked terrified and it was quite understable, being snatched by demons wasn't a pleasant experience. The black-furred monkey was in the same predicament, tied up by a lil thread. He could get out rather easily. He was a master when it came to escapery. But the demons that caught them had a rather troublesome artifact that Macaque wanted to avoid at all cost.
The two demon brothers were parading in their lair, brimming with joy at their catches.
“Can you believe it, brother? We caught the monk!” Cheered the silver horned demon as he put his hand on his hips, Yin, if Macaque recalled right.
“It's all part of the plan!” Chuckled the golden horned demon, Jin. “What do we do next?”
Yin took out a book and flipped the pages, he narrowed his eyes and read very carefully.
“Now we eat him!”
“Excellent ! Let's roast him!”
“Actually, brother. I think steaming him would be better. Makes it tastier.” Intervened Yin as he closed the book. Jin narrowed his eyes and crossed his arms, not happy with the interruption.
“I say we roast him.”
“And I say we steam him!”
Macaque couldn't believe those two idiotic demons managed to catch him off guard. His battle skills became rusty after months of letting Wukong do all the fighting, he needed to get back in shape soon. The black-furred monkey gazed at the calabash tied on Yin's slashes, if he managed to get this thing away from the troublesome brothers then escaping this place would be rather easy. Macaque looked up at the monk and quietly loosened the threads around his wrists. Sanzang squirmed in his spot, visibly worried.
“Hush, kiddo.” Shushed Macaque, hoping to come off as reassuring. Sanzang looked even more worried. “Just… keep quiet.” Mumbled Macaque as he crawled towards the brothers.
Macaque dived in the shadows and traveled silently while the brothers were bickering about cooking techniques. The lil guy almost managed to graze the calabash but he was interrupted by someone destroying the wall. Wukong looked absolutely feral, fur bristled, eyes shining like molten lava. His gaze swept off the place and narrowed on the two brothers who held into each other for dear life. He approached them with a razor sharp walk and leaned over the two horned demons.
“Where. Is. He?” He growled, fangs glinting in the dim-lighted cave.
“T-the monk is here!” Yelped Yin as he pointed to Sanzang, who was being rescued by Wujing. Wukong looked over Sanzang, his gaze softening a lil in reassurance (Macaque knew Wukong had a secret developing soft spot for the pilgrims!) but then he whipped his head towards the two brothers and growled once more :
“Where. Is. He?”
Macaque took the opportunity to kick the calabash away from the brothers, getting the dreadful artifact as far away as possible; how those idiots even stumbled upon this was questionable.
“Macaque!” Wukong ran over Macaque, grabbed him and brought him to his face. He then rubbed Macaque against his cheek. “Are you okay? Do you want me to kill those guys? I swear if they touched a single hair on your pretty head I’ll-”
“I'm okay, big guy.” Chuckled Macaque as he put one of his lil paws on Wukong's lips to shush him. “Let's just get out of here.”
“Yeah, sure! Anything.” Mumbled Wukong as he walked out of the cave, gripping on Macaque tightly, as if he was afraid of letting him go.
The same night, as the pilgrims were sitting around a campfire, Wukong wasn't letting go of Macaque.
“Come on, Monkey. Is he your teddy bear now?” Sighed Bajie as he dived in the bowl of soup he prepared. Macaque had to admit, despite the pig being insufferable at times, he was getting better at cooking.
“Shut it, Piglet. You know nothing of best friend bonds !” Growled Wukong.
“My, my, let's not get this heated, right?” Laughed Wujing as he passed a bowl of soup over the golden-furred monkey.
“I'm just glad it's over.” Sighed Sanzang as he rubbed his back, being tied up was not kind on his back.
“You know, when you were snatched up, Macaque, Wukong almost teared up.” Chuckled Ao Lie as he slurped his soup. Wukong looked at the dragon horse in betrayal.
“You when we talked about things that you should keep to yourself Ao Lie?” Sighed Wukong as he pinched the bridge of his nose.
“Yeah?” Answered the dragon horse.
“This was one of them.” Groaned Wukong. Macaque laughed quietly as he finished his thumb-size bowl of soup.
+ cut scenes
Wukong *after Macaque was snatched* : Nooooo, Bae!! 😭🥺
Wukong *one minute after* : I'm gonna commit murder 😡
Wukong : You know Ao Lie, sometimes you should...keep the tea to yourself, you get me ? 😔
Ao Lie : I don't drink tea? 🤔

Small KenJin Blurb
A super floofie, teenie tiny KenJin ficlet ft. mentions of Sukuna and a very down bad Kenny. I swear, these two take over my head in the most random times...
Kenjaku closes the door with enough force to nearly slam it. It was the same old boring shit. Another day of blabbering about…pretty much nothing to anyone that was desperate enough to hear him and get their validation.
Another day Kenjaku was bothered something he couldn't place.
Well, not quite.
It was actually Jin who was bothered by something - but if Jin was bothered, so was Kenjaku.
"Jin…" Kenjaku pouts and tries to kiss him - the other cringing and pushing him away instantly.
"Not this vessel, love. He's handsome but he's a complete stranger!" Jin sighs. "You know this…"
"I thought you humans liked that sort of thing." Kenjaku opens up his stitches and reveals his true self, to which Jin then tiptoes and places a gentle kiss on the curse's teeth. "I apologize, my dear."
Jin grumbles, trying to push him away and the curse sighs.
"Jin…this is ridiculous." The pout is clear in Kenjaku's voice as he gently takes his lover's chin and forces the other to look at him. "You've been acting strange all week! What is it, dearest? What's bothering you?"
"It's just…weird, knowing he'll be around again."
"Ah." Kenjaku cringes, knowing the other was talking about his twin.
"I…I-I gave myself up for him, you know?" Jin fidgets with his sweater a little, and Kenjaku gently rubs his thumb against his forehead - a mutual signal between the two to let out their thoughts or true self. "In the womb, I let myself be eaten. It was my first and last act of love for my brother. The last thing I wished for before I died was to see him again, one day. Now, I-he…d-did he turn out okay?"
"Oh, it was you…" Kenjaku covers his mouth, feigning shock as he gently shakes the other by his broad shoulders. "My lord Jin! Have you any idea what kind of monster your 'kindness' brought forth, you ignorant fool?!"
"What." Jin frowns, grumbling as the curse pokes him on the cheek. "Do I look like I care? Is he okay or not?!"
"Oh, I'm joking! I'm joking!" Kenjaku snickers, burying himself under his lover's chin - though he had to lean down a little, seeing as his new host was a bit taller than his husband. "Partly, anyways. That does explain A LOT of his beliefs. As for your question, ah…well, define 'okay' first, won't you?"
"I mean, he…he hasn't starved since, has he?" Jin sighs. "Had a roof over his head? Proper education? Stuff like that?"
"Simultaneously none and all of those." Kenjaku rubs his arms, trying to reassure the other, when he feels Jin deflate a little. "He hasn't starved, but his diet consisted of pretty much everything considered sacred at the time…and people."
"WHAT-"
"He knows how to read and write, got really good at poetry and arts, as per the times, but nobody ever taught him. He learned it himself. From gathering and making the materials, or stealing them, to actual calligraphy and watercolor techniques." Jin recieves a sorry on the head as Kenjaku continues to explain. "As for the roof over his head…he had them, mostly, by taking whatever was left after he'd destroyed the entire village or killed and ate everyone in the house. But he'd travel a lot, too. Always looking for new ways to hone his craft and for people or curses to fight. Lived life according to his beliefs."
"Goodness...I never wanted him to be hungry again, but I didn't think...well, at least he never was. It sounds like he lived a life he enjoyed, too. Even from the womb he'd be kicking and punching." Jin giggles and then sighs in relief. "I'm glad..."
"He does seem a bit lonely, though." The curse muses. "Even if he absolutely refuses to admit it."
"He hasn't made one friend in the thousand years he's lived?"
"Not one."
"What?!"
"Well...there was one person, but they're more like a servant."
"M-my god, I…"
"Don't tell me you're feeling responsible…" When Jin tenses, Kenjaku covers his mouth in disbelief. "Don't tell me you were thinking of seeing him again!"
"I-I mean, I'm his brother!"
"Jin, you're insane!"
"I know, I know. I'm not…all there. I never was…" The soft huffs of breath as Jin laughed tickled Kenjaku's neck. "But I can't help it, you know? I just-I care. That much…even after everything."
"Jin…" Kenjaku gently but firmly caresses his lover's face as he forces the other to look at his blank expression. "He ate you."
"And I allowed it! Look, I'm not an idiot okay? I know he's dangerous, b-but...I mean-I should at least-"
"JIN." Kenjaku sighs. "Enough with this! Dangerous is an understatement when it comes to your twin. Just stay here, with me. It's safer with me…"
"…can I at least see my-"
"Nope. No Yuuji, either."
Jin groans and allows himself to fully slump on the curse. "Well…thank you for at least covering half of the payment for his schools. I don't think I could make enough for both his and Dad's bills."
"Ah, yes…the geezer." Jin can hear the venom oozing from the other, and he offers him a sorry pat on the back. "Thanks for not killing Dad, also."
"Anythi-…well, almost anything for you, my dearest."
"Shame we can't do more…" Even without looking at him, Jin can feel the frown on Kenjaku's face. "I hear he's made a few friends already. I'm juuuuuust saying, it would be really nice if we could raise him together. Be a proper family…"
"Oh hush! You and I both know why we can't get too involved."
"Okay, okay!" Jin huffs. "I'll drop it already."

Shop: CD + Manga
Release Date: 2021/05/28
Cast:
Furukawa Makoto x Nakazawa Masatomo
Eguchi Takuya
Satou Gen
Tadokoro Hinata
Yasuaki Takumi
Matsuoka Yoshitsugu
Ichikawa Aoi

Synopsis:
What happens when two rival directors who hate each other's guts are forced to share one roof? And what if one of them has a secret he's been harboring for years? Throw in a shared love of movies, BL manga, and an accidental kiss, and you've got the next heart-pumping love story in Midorigaoka High and the sequel to Twilight Out of Focus 1. Jin Kikuchihara, third-year director, main actor, and president of the film club, and second-year director Giichi Ichikawa see eye-to-eye on very little. Jin is flashy, flirty, and focused on keeping everyone happy, while Giichi expects the best from himself and others, and will compromise nothing to see his vision through. Constantly at each other's necks, the two can hardly stand to be in the same club. But what will happen when family trouble forces them to live in the same room? Will their shared interests bring them closer as friends, push them further apart as rivals, or something else entirely?
Review Proper
I love Tasogare Outfocus, but this is actually my favorite Janome.
The second installment curse strikes again!
UGHHHHHHH THIS WAS SO WHOLESOME. Don't get me wrong, Tasogare Outfocus is written pretty decently, but I really don't like how Janome just glossed over Hisashi's SA and grooming like that. It reminds me a lot of Etude vol. 1. I can still get over Etude vol. 1 'cause it's not that uncommon to see in sports and Ichi-san's deal with Futami was given some closure in 2, but given how short Tasogare Outfocus was, Hisashi felt like he just lmao byed his teacher. 😔Doesn't help that it kinda doesn't matter anymore in overlap even though it hasn't been long since it ended. Is my son Hisashi really okay now? 🥹
I'm old, so DK BL doesn't appeal to me that much anymore. It's also hard to find good DK rivalries nowadays that aren't just about fucking or delinquents. Zanzou Slow Motion, however, just checked all the right boxes for the category: simple, no drama, and no loose ends. That coupled with Janome's element of touch?
And can we talk about this monologue?
Ugh.
I will say Jin's suspenders, Ichikawa's snatched waist, and the ABO shout-out greatly influenced my decision too. Y'all should get suspended in high school, not wear suspenders!
Onto the technicalities...
I don't think I've heard these two co-star before (or I just don't remember), so I was a bit skeptical especially 'cause last I heard Makonyan in a DK was in, well... Given as BLCD!Ritsu. And where else did we hear Yuuma star in a DK too? Yuuma as Anime!Ritsu. We just had Given Anime!Ritsu in Tasogare Outfocus being somewhat friends with Ichikawa and now we have BLCD!Ritsu (thanks to ecargmura for catching this!) trying to romance him. They used very different tones for Ritsu, but the vibe was the same overall. THEY'RE THE SAME PERSON. Makonyan and Nakamo also played tops in the last works I heard of them (Makonyan as Takaba in Kurui Naku and Nakamo as Yakumo in Nu:carnival), so I was concerned about a lot of things. Thankfully, however, instead of Makonyan going for his Ritsu tone or his lighter Kimitte Yatsu for a more youthful vibe, he went all shounen in here lmaooo.
His bwakame was so funny it reminded me of this:
I love roasting Makonyan more than any other seiyuu out of fondness, but I'm really proud of how far he's gone. He's gotten so much better in his delivery, and it's obvious in his budding anime career, too.
But...
I didn't expect there would be improvements in his bedding techniques too...
What the fuck was that? HAHAHAHAHAHA. WAIT. No, y'all don't understand. I have most of this man's r-18 otome CDs and BLCDs, and I have never heard him this... this hot before???? Jin is such a smooth flirt, so I had some expectations on the delivery, but FURUKAWA MAKOTO HISSES. HE HISSES!!! SIR IS THIS APPROPRIATE BEHAVIOUR FOR A HIGH SCHOOL BOY??? THEY DON'T EVEN SHOW THEM DO THE DO FOR MORE THAN A MINUTE??? WHERE WAS THE NEED?!
PUTS THE GODDAMN FU IN FURUKAWA MAKOTO ALRIGHT!
First it was Ono Yuuki, now it's Makonyan. Is Nakamo's ass really that good that his tops go all in???
I admittedly don't have a lot to say about Nakamo because that man always slays. I was afraid that Makonyan would overpower him during their Netflix and chill, but as soon as I had that thought, Nakamo pushed back like??? THEM SHAKIRA HIPS DON'T LIE!
HOW DO I LEGALLY MARRY GINGER RECORDS???
I didn't read the scan or the official English release 'cause I actually had the raws, so I can't vouch for the translation. As for faithfulness to the manga, however, I need to stress that there were a lot of rearranged events and cut dialogue. One notable instance was Ichikawa's message for Jin. It was placed after their kiss in the last chapter, so I believe that these changes are quite significant. It is still possible to read the manga while listening to the BLCD, but I suggest reading the manga once first so you're aware of which pages you need to jump to.
Chil-chil Awards 2022 was a scam 'cause this wasn't nominated for ANYTHING! This might actually just be my favorite BLCD of 2021... and Makonyan was my favorite actor in this series so far. OKITSU AND MAKONYAN REALLY SWITCHED IN THIS LOG HAHAHAHA. Makonyan and Nakamo at least won in my heart. 😌 Definitely listen to this if you're a Makonyan fan or if you're a fan of the series in general. It's also perfect if you're looking for something light and sweet but immersive at the same time. Chesk gives this a 9/10! Only the third 9 after Sonna ni and KD!

Hani’s Relationship with Jin
Fox of BTS | BTS 8th Member
Marked by a beautiful blend of brotherly love, mentorship, and heartfelt support. As the “worldwide handsome” member known for his warmth and charm, Jin quickly became a significant figure in Hani’s life, guiding her through the complexities of being a rising idol while providing a strong sense of familial comfort.
A Brotherly Bond
From the moment Hani joined BTS, Jin took on a protective and nurturing role. Being the eldest member, he naturally felt a sense of responsibility toward her, often treating her like a younger sister. Their interactions were filled with warmth and care, and he made it a point to check in on her, ensuring she felt comfortable and welcomed in the group.
One evening, during a particularly grueling practice, Hani felt overwhelmed by the pressure to perform well. Jin noticed her distress and immediately stepped in, suggesting they take a break. He led her to the lounge area, where he prepared some snacks for her. “You can’t perform on an empty stomach, right? A well-fed artist is a happy artist!” he joked, managing to lift her spirits with his lighthearted banter. They spent that time chatting about their childhoods, and Jin shared funny anecdotes about his own experiences as a trainee, helping Hani feel less alone.
Mentorship and Guidance
Jin’s role in Hani’s life extended beyond mere friendship; he served as a mentor and guide. With his extensive experience in the industry, he often offered advice on navigating the pressures of fame, handling media scrutiny, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Whenever Hani faced challenges, she could count on Jin to provide thoughtful and wise insights.
For instance, during a particularly stressful period leading up to their comeback, Hani was anxious about meeting fans’ expectations. Jin sat down with her, gently encouraging her to focus on her own journey rather than comparing herself to others. “Remember, it’s about what makes you happy and fulfilled. Don’t lose sight of your passion,” he reassured her, instilling a sense of confidence that helped her push through.
Shared Interests
Their bond was also reinforced through shared interests, particularly in food and cooking. Both Jin and Hani had a passion for culinary arts, and they often bonded over their love for trying new recipes. Jin, known for his love of cooking, would frequently invite Hani to join him in the kitchen, turning cooking sessions into fun bonding experiences. They would experiment with different dishes, and Jin would enthusiastically teach her new techniques.
During one memorable cooking night, they decided to make traditional Korean dishes together. Hani was amazed by Jin’s skills and how effortlessly he navigated the kitchen. As they chopped vegetables and marinated meat, they laughed and exchanged stories, creating a warm and cozy atmosphere. Jin even challenged Hani to a cook-off, and they playfully competed, with the other BTS members serving as judges. Their friendly rivalry only strengthened their bond, and it was moments like these that made their friendship truly special.
Emotional Support
In times of need, Jin was always there to offer emotional support. He had a keen sense of when Hani was feeling down or stressed and would go out of his way to cheer her up. Whether it was a simple text message checking in on her or an encouraging word before a performance, Jin’s gestures showed how much he cared.
During one tough moment when Hani was grappling with her insecurities after a tough rehearsal, Jin took her out for a late-night drive to clear her mind. As they drove through the quiet streets, he shared stories of his own struggles, letting her know that it was okay to have ups and downs. “We all have our moments. What matters is that we keep moving forward together,” he said, and Hani felt a sense of relief knowing she wasn’t alone.
Humor and Playfulness
Their relationship was also filled with humor and playful teasing. Jin loved to poke fun at Hani in a lighthearted way, often bringing a smile to her face during stressful times. He would mimic her dance moves, exaggerating them for comedic effect, and they would both burst into laughter, lightening the mood. Jin’s playful nature provided Hani with a sense of comfort and joy, reminding her to take things less seriously.
During a variety show appearance, the two were challenged to a series of funny games, and their chemistry shone through. They played off each other’s energy, making witty remarks and engaging in playful banter. Fans loved watching their interactions, often calling them the “funny duo” because of how effortlessly they made each other laugh.

Warning: A long Rant
Okay, so I've spent the whole span of AoS season 2 seeing people criticize Jang Uk for not recognising Naksu.
And I can't take it anymore.
Yes it is a bit of a lazy writing on the writers part. But this is not wrong in any way. See the biggest mistake they did was show us Jang Uk 3 yrs later, but there's just one flashback scene. ONLY ONE. We don't see him building into a dark character. That was definitely lazy writing.
But have you gone through a dark patch in your life? It takes so much away from you. It makes your mind foggy. It hampers with your thinking. You behave weirdly. So much so that people around you tell you're not you anymore. Which just adds on to the misery.
Which is exactly what happened to Jang Uk. He died guys. Protecting the woman he loved. But he came back alive. And he couldn't save her. And then he finds out that in some f**ked up way he's responsible for her death!
The 1st season was very clearly showed how smart Jang Uk was. Witty, edgy, sharp, spontaneous. A genius. He had to be. He had been judged and humiliated all his life, left with not even a speck of power. His wit was all he had.
He had read, understood and memorized books far over his level.
He had recognised Naksu by looking at the blue marks in her eyes and the way she held the crab leg to his neck.
Remember he copied Heo Yeom's breathing technique even when he knew nothing about energy usage.
He had figured out they were trapped in the ice stone and was already finding solutions even before Mudeok mentioned it. He was also the one who came up with the solution.
When Naksu stabbed him, before the pain the surprise registers. You can actually see the wheels turning in his head. Which is why he pulls her in. He knows she didn't do it. Even to the very end he was the smartest. Jin Mu managed to fool the entire kingdom, but not him.
So what changed?
Do you remember that flashback scene. It was sometime after he'd come back to life. And in that short span of time he'd completely figured out that she was not responsible for those crimes and who were. Till that moment Jang Uk was still sharp.
But Park Jin telling him he's responsible for her death is the point of no return. You see in his eyes the moment he breaks apart (Lee Jae Wook deserves all the awards for this). For the first time in his life there is something, that with all his intelligence, he can't wrap his head around.
That not only could he not save the love of his life, but he was responsible for her death, and all of the misery in her life.
After that Jang Uk changes.
He doesn't see and notice things like before, because he's not like before. He's not bright and witty anymore. He considers himself dead, which is why he says he's not going to do anything. He wants to die. Do you think he's seeing things straight when he's suicidal?
We do see some semblance of the old Jang Uk when he's with his close ones. When he meets Yul and Dangu. When he's with Park Jin or Kim Doju. When Yul is sad he understands. He is genuinely happy Jin Bu-Yeon lights up the lamp.
When Park Jin asks Jang Uk who he would save between him and Kim Doju, he says Kim Doju. Which was a funny scene. But this not what season 1 Jang Uk would have said. Remember Jang Uk sacrificed his own powers to save everybody trapped in the ice stone. And when Park Jin says that he should save both, you see realisation hit his eyes. He was not given a scenario where he could only save one. He can save both, but this didn't even occur to him. Season 1 Jang Uk would have answered that he would try to save both. Or he would have answered something completely out of the box like Park Jin himself was pretty capable of saving them both, why did he need to save them.
He saves Jin Bu-Yeon only so that she can kill him. But you see he does recognise her. He looks deep into her eyes. Searching... But he doesn't find what he's looking for. Her actions confuse him. But at that point he's to scared to be hopeful. Because it's too good to be true. Which is why he outright says to Jin Bu-Yeon that she could be a replacement for Naksu since she reminded him so much of her.
But she retaliates. Everytime. She repeatedly tells him she's not that woman. That she is herself. That he should see her for who she is. Which is how he is finally able to mourn and heal. He's finally able to be happy again.
Also him finding out who she was would have made him happy and relieved that she was alive. But it wouldn't have brought him out his guilt or his darkness. He would still be haunted by events of his past. He wouldn't have been able to mourn or heal.
And you see Jang Uk come back. He's accepted the fact that sometimes his wife might remember things from his past because she has the blue jade egg. He knows that she reminds him of his lover, but that's okay, he can love again. He's made peace with his past. And just when he is happy, she leaves. Again. But this time he's not confused. He tells her that he doesn't care about her past. Or that he fell for her over some confusion. He also knows that she does like him, but also is only lying to him. But he doesn't pry. He only says that he'll wait for her.
Yes, I see the problem with him finding out about her so late. Or prolonging the amnesia plot. Because there's only 2 episodes left.
And there's your problem. Only 10 episodes. If season 2 was also 20 episodes that wouldn't be a problem. Moving at this pace is not actually wrong. But leaving only 2 episodes to solve the rest of the problems is.
If you've read this far, you do see my point. Don't you?
P.S. I knew they weren't going to let them find out before they fell in love again. I knew that they were going to find out just when they were happy again. Because for some reason Hong Sisters don't like happy couples.

Jins Wisdom 3: Cleaning a Huge Mess.
Hey there everyone, it's another installment of Jin's Wisdom. Now I know what you're all thinking, Jin we've seen/heard about your factions office. Do you really think you're qualified to give cleaning advice? Yes, yes I do.
Now unlike Yves and Chevalier (surprisingly also Nokto) and how they do things I'm not talking about cleaning clean places. If you've got a nice tidy space that takes you less than 15 minutes to be guest ready nah this ain't for you. What I'm talking about is places in a real bad need of cleaning. The places so bad you have no idea where to even start.
Maybe you got injured or sick, maybe your mental health was struggling, maybe you had a baby or maybe your wife/husband left for a few weeks and now they're due back tomorrow and you have one day to do 2 weeks of cleaning, maybe you share an office with your brothers and every so often one of them forces you to clean the whole place because it ‘looks bad’ and is ‘dangerous’. Whatever the situation, this advice is a starting point for those types of cleaning situations.
Before I get into the specifics though, if you're struggling I want you to know it's okay to ask for help, professional or personal, even just some words of encouragement if that would help. If you don't take care of yourself, you can't take care of anything else. That said, let's get into how I do it and hopefully it helps somebody.
Gather up the very basic supplies you'll need. Broom/vacuum, garbage bags, some boxes/baskets. That's it for now we want to get it started, worry about dusting and all that later.
Pick a room/corner (not kitchen that has its own technique), start with an easier one that will go quickly so you can be encouraged by having something cleaned up quick.
Gather up all the dirty dishes you can see in the room and take them to the kitchen. Don't worry if you find more later it's ok, you'd be surprised how often we find plates hidden under stacks of paperwork in the office.
Now that the dishes are out, pick up all the big garbage or anything broken and toss it or recycle it. Don't worry about the chip crumbs or anything like that we're getting those soon.
Next pick up anything big/obvious off the floor that isn't the small trash, so things like toys, clothes, paperwork whatever it is. If it belongs in that room/area set it aside if not stuff it in one of the baskets keeping all of the same category together. I set the baskets on the sofa when Yves makes me clean so I don't have to keep bending down, don't want to hurt my back after all.
Now here is where your floor type matters, if you have carpet you need to do things differently because this is for wood/tile/vinyl/marble. What we do now is sweep everything into one big pile into the center of the area/room. Then we give the pile a look over, are there small objects that aren't trash like toys, gloves, cufflinks etc. If there is dig em out and put them in the proper basket. Once you're sure nothing is left just sweep it into a dust pan and toss.
With the floors done, do the same with any other surface that has stuff on it like desks or bookshelves, not sure why there was a sheath hidden behind some books that one time but…If there's anything like crumbs or something on these surfaces just wipe them onto the floor.
Next we're going to take the vacuum or broom again and go over the floor again, getting up the really fine or stubborn dirt we didn't get earlier along with all the crumbs and stuff we just wiped onto it.
Take those baskets to where whatever is in them belongs. So for example all the clothes go to the laundry area. I'd you want to tackle a second room/area go back up to step one, if not move to the last step.
This is the last step and it's to wash all those dishes you brought into the kitchen earlier, not all the dishes just those we brought in. My admin said this is a lot easier if you have a dishwasher to do it for you if not then we'll put on some good music.
With all of that done you're on your way! I know it's not doing everything like dusting, mopping, windows etc but as I said that's not what I'm going for with this. This is advice on how to do it when it's become so overwhelming it paralyzes you. At least with the very basics done, if you can keep on top of it for a while then you can slowly work up to doing the bigger tasks when you're ready.
Just take things one step at a time and don't overwhelm yourself, especially if you've been really struggling. Remember take care of you first otherwise nothing else is going to get taken care of, not properly anyways.
Miscellaneous Cleaning Tidbits:
Hand wash dishes by starting with the least dirty moving to dirtiest. So cups/glasses, utensils, plates/bowls then pots/pans.
If you don't like strong chemical cleaners, vinegar or lemon juice can be used instead. You can find loads of recipes out there for cleaning pastes and sprays using them.
Don't be afraid to wash your wood floors! Find a good product and follow its directions (my admin uses Murphy's oil) the floors will thank you.
Beat/shake out your rugs every so often, it's a great stress reliever especially if you pretend it's somebody you hate or are angry at.
Got dusty blinds? If they can easily come down, take them down, put them in the bathtub and pour water over them. Gets rid of the dust fast, just make sure to handle them gently, like you would if it was a beautiful woman. If they can't be taken down lay a towel under them and use a spray bottle with a bit of dish soap then rinse with another spray bottle of just water.
Rinse blood out of fabrics while still wet if you can it helps to not stain them.
Toss out or donate toys when your little kids are in school or gone away for a while. This way no fighting over them wanting to keep a toy they hadn't played with in six months just because they saw it again. This one was from my admin.
Don't mix cleaning chemicals!
Put on upbeat music, it will usually help and at the least won't hurt.
Open up your windows for a bit each day to get some fresh air in, weather permitting of course.

Reaction to Guardian (Chapter 2-Chapter 10)
okay so i had to stop myself from binge reading so that i could make this post, but i think i failed.
okay i'm not even gonna lie, i kinda really love guo changcheng. he makes serious situations so funny and i feel kinda bad for him. ik he would be soOOO annoying irl, but in the book he kinda heightens the experience without intruding on zhao yunlan and shen wei, lmao.
i re-looked at the cover for volume 1, of course, and my first impression of shen wei was that he was apprehensive or concerned, but now he seems a little in love/shy type of concerned. idk, after reading, their expressions seem a lot more soft.
the python lady, whose name i forgot. wait. erm. ZHU HONG that was it. okay so first of all the period jokes are crazy. at first i was abt to say why tf would you spend so much money on making her learn about tech stuff, but then i realized this was based in china and idk how much universities cost there. whoops. ALSO ALSO WHY THE FUCK IS SHE FLIRTING WITH ZHAO YUNLAN?? HELLO?? bro was actually disgusted and she should've been ashamed. that being said, i do quite like her. i think if there are scenes with her in the future, they won't be that bad.
lin jing- whose name i only remember because of jin ling- is super kewl. idk, bro just seems like a wingman. i think i imagine him differently in my head because of jin ling.... so he has no glasses and is kinda short in my head... but all is well, yk? i like his- again, i binge read, so sorry if this is offensive/incorrect- monk/buddhist motif.
the fight scenes are so well made, holy shit. and so are the illustrations! like omg, they were so fun to read. i love love love fight scenes and with guo changcheng it definitely wasn't AS serious, but yk. obv we love shen wei being a badass and daqing being daqing.
the illustrations are such bangers as well, i love the style. especially the one where zhao yunlan was holding the dagger in his mouth and holding the talisman? dont ask me why, but i love when characters do that. it feels so badass to me.
i'm so excited to read the rest. i'm not sure if zhao yunlan's memory altering technique thing will work on shen wei, because he is a little sus. meaning that he definitely has a hidden past and is like secretly a demon or guardian of zhao yunlan or some shit, yk? i have the covers of the rest of the novels at my disposure, or whatever the fuck, and i can see that they have long hair, which was kinda strange to me because it seems like a modern type au so far?
oh yeah quick interlude: love the fact that you can shoot ghosts with bullets. that seems so fucking badass to me. this novel is so badass, dont ask me why
anyway i really enjoyed the little kissie that zhao yunlan gave shen wei. i wonder what their future dynamic will be?
so excited to read the rest, i highly recommend if you like good fight scenes!! can't wait to unravel the mystery.
oh, p.s: li qian (?) wasn't the one who died, i was wrong. but she was supposed to die- or so i think rn, idk the twists. ah, maybe mxtx has shapen me into expecting something so out there, but with jun wu and nie huaisang and luo binghe, things aren't really what they seem, i'm SURE of it.
i love guardian so far, and i'm sure you will too!
until next time...

Jungkook made it a point to clear out the mattress joke. He said something like Jin was exaggerating and he doesn't own as many mattresses. I mean, that was important enough for him to clear out. Lol.
And yet, radio silence on everything else. So, anyway, whatever they want to do, they are adults, their choices.
I'll just sit and see where this goes.
But hey, between all these extra circular activities if JK is able to provide us with some good music album, that would be great. Otherwise, well okay.
I always thought the mattress talk was part of the distraction technique. Jungkook and RM at that time were on their damage control duties. RM with his well-written letter on Weverse that had its desired effect and Jungkook doing an "out of the blue" wlive to try and make the mess of their poor-received framing of the break look less messy. It was pretty obvious. And it worked. I doubt he would give a shit about clearing up a joke and certainly wouldn't take time to do it if it was only about that. If the fandom and the press weren't having those type of reactions at that time, I'm almost certain Jungkook would have continued with his habit of not being active online outside work-related events. (The stocks weren't looking that good for Hybe). Which is even more clear now, since the last time he did it was after his world cup performance and after that, the man disappeared again because he has nothing to promote and there's no other work in sight and he's probably enjoying this prolongued break, a first real one in a decade. If the Grammy rumors are true and him and RM are attending (which we still don't know for sure), I expect the possibility of him coming back online on his own.
And yes, a good album would be ideal. I think that this period of solo activities which automatically means there is less content out there that would involve them individually or together at the same time, is marking perhaps some sort of shift as to what some fans are currently interested in. With everyone being on their own and with longer periods of time of radio silence, perhaps focusing just on solo career-related activities, there will be less of a focus on other things. At least partially. Because, as one anon recently put it, the majority of this fandom is still the type to get more excited at Jimin and Hobi sitting next to each other at Dior, than about their presence at those events and the implications and relevance to their professional work.

What About Tengen?
Alright, folks, time for "What thought Kiya wants to share today because if she doesn't, she'll freak out"! Ha ha... yeah...
Now, before we get onto this I don't expect anyone to agree or let alone be for the idea. This is just me, again, sharing a thought I had. I wouldn't even say it's a genius thought. Just a thought. In fact, a wild one.
After rereading some chapters and writing a whole fic, I've been thinking about this idea I haven't seen much about before that I haven't recalled and that is...
Can Yuji be a Vessel for Tengen? Let alone is it a possible ending for Yuji?
I already know this is about to be a lengthy post and to be honest, I don't know how to exactly put this into words, but I'll try my best. I'm still getting into understanding how jujutsu and all that works, so bear with me.

☆☆☆
Back in chapter 145, Tengen notes that because of the failed merging with Riko Amanai (she was assassinated by Toji due to the Star Religious Group believing a merging with Tengen is impure), their aging accelerated and that's what lead to their current physical state. Also, a bit later, Tengen states how they evolved pass the point needing a specific Star Plasma Vessel. So it's not impossible for them to merge with anybody else.
Which, thinking about it, Kenjaku might have been the one to orchestrate that assassination because of that reason (Tengen evolving). That's canon, right? I believe that's canon... anyways!!
The whole point of a Star Plasma Vessel is to "reset" Tengen's technique, Immortality, as noted back in chapter 66 (conversation between Gojo, Yaga and Geto).
When Tengen merges with a capable SPV, it prevents them (Tengen) from evolving. If they evolve, they lose their sense of self, lose their sense of will. They can become a threat to humanity.
"Master Tengen will no longer be Master Tengen."
Now how this applies to Yuji?
Okay, so because Tengen has evolved, anyone can be a Vessel for them, possibly. With that in mind, that could include Yuji. But is Yuji capable?
Well, if Yuji could hold Sukuna, I say it's possible. Yuji was made to be Sukuna's vessel, his cage. When Yuji first swallowed Sukuna's Cursed Finger, it a slim chance he'd survive. And he does! Not only does he survive, but he showcases he's able to control his body from Sukuna. Keep in mind, Sukuna is a very powerful being. Anybody who have swallowed that Finger would have either died (due to the Fingers being like poison) or never got their body back.
Let's also consider the nature of Sukuna. He's human, but not human. He's a Curse, but not like a Curse. Sukuna is human, but his behavior is that of a Curse. Tengen is something similar. They evolved more into something of a Cursed Spirit than a human.
If Yuji could handle Sukuna who in a way is similar in a way to Tengen, what if Yuji also could be a vessel for Tengen? And not just that. It's implied that with Tengen, whoever become their vessel, "dies".
Well, what if for Yuji, as he was able to with Sukuna, he could still maintain his sense of self?
Keep in mind, Yuki Tsukumo (first name similar to Yuji's) was a temporary SPV for Tengen and she came out fine. Sure, she's a Special Grade, but at the point of the story we are at, Yuji had been declared at Sukuna's level, who is considered Special Grade. Hmm...
Sliding in right here to add as of 257, it's implied that Yuji was born with one of Sukuna's fingers already sealed in him. Which makes me think even further about this.
Kenjaku, Kaori and Jin are human. Therefore, Yuji is human... so even as an unborn baby, he should have died when that Finger was sealed in him, right? Unless, it was a ruse this whole time that Sukuna's Cursed Fingers would kill someone upon consuming them to keep people from swallowing those Fingers. (But I kinda doubt it was a ruse.)
What if because of the Finger, it didn't kill Yuji but altered his composition so that he already was somewhat like a Curse? Better yet, like his brothers the Death Paintings who are part Curse, part human? Who also happen to be aborted? So, the "Death" part of that title is fitting. But also... maybe it can apply to Yuji, too? As I said, that CF could have made unborn Yuji part Curse, part human. You could say that the CF "killed" some part of human Yuji.
Reminder that because he is Sukuna's vessel and he swallowed that Finger, he was seen as being part Curse, part human. What if this whole time, he already as such?
And one of the subtle hints to Tengen and Sukuna?
Speaking of Death Paintings!!
Something else I want to point out from 257 is that is had been revealed that Yuji and Sukuna both ate their siblings to gain something from them. For Sukuna, it was to survive. For Yuji, it was to gain the Blood Manipulation technique.
Their siblings, at those times, were not like full grown or anything. No... they were fetuses.
And guess what? The last time we get a look at Tengen's current state before being sent off to Sukuna was in 249. And what did Tengen look like?
This. Small and almost fetus-like, you can say.
What if at some point, the others somehow get hold of Tengen with them in this state? Like how Death Paintings are, Tengen can't function independently in this state. What if like those DPs, Tengen will need a new body? A new vessel?
And the chosen vessel? Yuji Itadori. And how? By consuming Tengen.
I know, I know! It's crazy!
But thinking about all what I have so far said, I wouldn't even say it's impossible. Oh, I'm not done.
In another post, I talked about how it seemed risky that Yuji consumed 6 DPs and not one took over his body. Even though, he could control Sukuna, wouldn't it still be considered a gamble that his body could have been taken over by a DP? Maybe they figured because he previously had been Sukuna's vessel, it would turn out okay. Which it did and it makes sense!
Yuji isn't just a vessel. He's a cage. And what if he wasn't just a cage for Sukuna, but for anything?
What if Kenjaku practiced run experimenting making DPs to prepare for someone like Yuji? DPs take complete control of someone's body and forge it into their own. Yuji's does the opposite.
He remains conscious of himself and his body adapts. What if that can work with Tengen?
I think about how Riko was meant to be Tengen's vessel and there was a guarantee she wouldn't be Riko anymore. Opposite of Yuji. Amazingly enough though, for two characters who never met (Yuji was three when Riko died), they sure do have a lot in common. [This post here!]
I'm not saying I'm an expert on analyzing stories, let alone Gege Akutami's works, but I noticed that some subtle hints of foreshadowing are sometimes done when two (or more) characters tend to have commonality. Riko and Yuji happen to be a pair. While alike, they're also opposite. And as I mention, one thing they're opposite in is that Riko's existence was at sake merging with Tengen. Yuji? He keeps his control.
Another is that Riko, at first, she accepts her death when becoming Tengen. She felt like a loner because of that fate. However, she changes her mind at the end and wants to live.
Yuji also accepts death as Sukuna's vessel and before thought of himself as a loner, but he is also a fighter. His grandfather told him to help others so he can be surrounded when he dies.
What if, in reverse, Yuji will give up on that goal at the end? Tengen is, too, a loner like Yuji and Riko. What if Yuji gives up and accepts such a fate as being a loner, taking Tengen's place? Maybe, be surrounded by those who remain as he "dies" to take Tengen's place before going into solitude?
It's a tragic ending, I know. But with JJK, a lot of these characters do have tragic endings.
Simply overall, what if this is a possible ending that has been hinted at this whole time? What if at the end, Yuji is the one to become the next Tengen of sorts? And if he does, he can still be him?
I'm not saying this is a guarantee, let alone you have to agree. [But if you don't, keep it to yourself, I don't care to argue with someone over my thought.]
But it's a thought I have had for a while (since... February...)

Ninja Daily: Vapors 47
It took conscious effort to pick her jaw back up.
"Say that again?" Aiko asked a bit weakly.
He glared, looking spectacularly uncomfortable, as if he was possibly considering pulling a Sasuke and fleeing the conversation. But Kakashi-shishou gave a pouty little huff and repeated himself. "I re-evaluated my previous rhetorical position. I have an alternative for the Rasengan."
Perhaps there just weren't any logs nearby to substitute with. Aiko resisted the temptation to check.
'If I'm not mistaken, that's a wordy apology.' She smoothed her features and did her best not to look too surprised. There would be no point to insulting him or making him feel any more uncomfortable by seeming too exuberantly grateful. Aiko didn't like these sorts of conversations either, so she directed her reply to the ground and scuffed the toes of her sandal in the dirt, tracing lines. "I misspoke as well," she muttered. "I was taking other frustrations out on you. I don't want to be arguing anymore."
"Well, that's settled then." One of those ludicrous fake eye-smiles diffused the tension, and Kakashi shifted into business mode with a palpable air of relief. "Before I teach you, I have one warning. I based this off of my experience making chidori, so don't go sharing insights about it to anyone else. It's a bit of a cheat sheet for reverse engineering my technique."
She blanched. 'He invented a technique for me? Holy shit,' Aiko thought weakly. That was a hell of an apology. 'I should probably master it and be damn grateful. I'm definitely not going to mention being okay with the Rasengan after all.'
"The name's a little deceptive, but I rather like it. Sen Tsurara—one thousand icicles. I initially tried to use the same shape transformation as for my chidori, but it ended up much less compact, but without the long tendrils of excess energy that characterize chidori. If you haven't noticed by now, chidori uses Ox, Rabbit, and then Monkey."
He demonstrated without channeling chakra, which was a damn sight harder than it sounded. "I couldn't get what I wanted to work with three handsigns—the minimum appears to be four." He paused. "Well, at least until you've mastered it to the point where it comes naturally. Have you ever used Jin?"
Aiko shook her head. He just lazily blinked as if he expected that. At least, it seemed like he blinked, even though she couldn't see both eyes. She had to assume he wasn't really winking at her all the time.
"Alright. Jin is commonly associated with water release techniques." He demonstrated slowly and carefully. When Aiko mimicked it, he moved on. "It starts the same, but you're going to lose the Rabbit seal entirely and substitute in 'Dog' and then 'Jin', but still end with Monkey. Show me."
Aiko entirely blocked the chakra paths in her wrists and flashed through the sequence, not fumbling on the new seal.
"Good." Kakashi let a hand wander up to that electrocuted mop he called hair, a gesture she recognized as meaning he was thinking. "Alright. Obviously, there's no ice involved in this technique. I can do many things, but I haven't figured out how to transfer bloodline limits yet."
It took conscious effort not to look at the hidden Sharingan eye under his dark blue mask.
"Instead of ice, you'll actually be generating water and using the same concentration you do to give water bullets their hard edge." He shrugged lazily. "It looks a lot like ice, and that sounds better than 'One thousand pointy bits of water.' Then he looked contemplative for a moment, before putting his palms up and sheepishly admitting, "And it's actually more like six hundred seventy six pointy bits, but who's counting?" His visible eye curved into a smile.
She was a little appalled that he'd actually been anal enough to count them himself (and how had he even managed that?), but agreed that no one else was likely to spot the fib in the name.
"Is… is it a running technique like chidori?" she asked, curious.
He shook his head. "No, that's dangerous. Not that this doesn't have its own problems," he admitted self-depreciatingly. "It's not a sustained technique. It only lasts about a second and a half at most. So if your timing is off, you're just pawing at people with your bare hand."
"And that doesn't work for anyone but a Hyuuga," she finished.
His lip seemed to twitch under his mask. "Correct." Then he demonstrated, flipping through the seals at a speed she couldn't even register, since she already knew what they would be.
Of course, nothing seemed to happen for a good second. She furrowed her brow and looked up at his face, which seemed decidedly amused. "As you can see, nothing happens until you force a burst of chakra out past the buildup," he drawled. "The seals are just preparation in this case. You can ready them as much as a few seconds before you actually use the technique, which does mitigate something of the timing problem." He ran through the hand seals again, this time lifting up his right hand and pulsing chakra through it.
It exploded—it really did look like ice burst out of his hand. In the moments it lasted, he lazily demonstrated that it wasn't bound to a single trajectory by moving his arm from side to side, letting the technique move with him. Then suddenly it dissolved, collapsing into a sphere of water and then splashing to the ground, all form lost.
"Whoa." She took a deep breath, mind working. "There's something I didn't see, isn't there? If it had just been that hard-edge technique, it would have shredded your hand as well."
He looked a bit proud. "Insightful. Yes, the first step is a soft cushion around your hand." He kneeled to scoop up the fallen water and demonstrated a wiggly glove construct, instead of generating more raw material. "You're going to attach the hard edge to that, instead of your flesh."
She made a face. That sounded like a pain. He hadn't actually taught her a technique that complicated before. He made it look easy, but the control for that cushion was analogous to what beginning medics would need. She would be able to do it while working on another technique, but barely and only with a fair bit of concentration.
'That means more chakra control practice, so I can use this on-the-go,' she sighed. Goddamnit.
Kakashi chuckled lowly, not sounding particularly amused. "It would be embarrassing to cripple yourself with your own technique. So, don't forget that part. The difficult bit is manifesting that independently of what you're doing with the handseals for the hard-edge portion, but the closer they are together time-wise, the less likely that the people you are about to skewer have a chance to figure out the possible weakness that you can be harmed by your own technique."
He didn't have to explain why that would be a bad thing.
"Duly noted." Aiko fidgeted.
"Show me that part first," he lazily demanded, leaning back against a tree. "I know you can do it, but I'd like to see it actually generated and not picked up from a natural source."
For a while, he just let her work in silence, occasionally giving a tip or snarky critique. She had managed to start attaching hard edges to the protective cushion, even though they were messy and nothing like shishou's perfect, symmetrical jagged protrusions by the time he brought up a strange topic.
"I didn't realize you and Naruto were living on your own from such a young age. Four, wasn't it?"
'Why's he bringing that up now?'
Aiko frowned, stealing a glance at her sensei. The tone had been perfectly level and casual, but something had been very wrong about the statement nonetheless, and not just the fact that he rarely initiated idle conversation. Perhaps it had been the way he emphasized syllables or the fact that he was trying too hard to sound nonchalant.
Either way, it seemed like a dangerous question to respond to. Kakashi was fishing for information or a certain response. Saying something when she didn't know what he was looking for could end poorly. Aiko didn't intend for anyone to ever find out that she had been reincarnated or had precognition or whatever the hell was going on in her head. She barely trusted in her own sanity, and she was the one stuck in her head. Doubtless, no one else would just accept such a crazy claim. It was better to let people attribute the fact that she didn't always entirely 'click' to whatever they wanted. Often, people told themselves far better lies than anyone else could.
So Aiko shrugged noncommittally, focusing on her task and how the goddamn icicle things just wouldn't manifest the long, straight edges that Kakashi's technique had instead of responding verbally. Her shishou seemed to measure the response, tilting his head slightly like a bird. If she knew him at all, which she definitely did, now he would be re-thinking his rhetorical approach and coming at whatever he wanted to know from another angle. She would probably be able to figure out what he was really angling for by considering his first question in conjunction with whatever he tried next.
"Why do you act as though you're so much older than your brother?" Kakashi asked suddenly.
Aiko blinked, taken aback by the odd question. He didn't suspect that she was really an adult—that wasn't a suspicion you gently prodded at, so she didn't see the connection. "I don't know. I just suppose that someone had to take care of things, and I was more qualified."
'Because I was born fully conscious and aware,' her mind filled in. Was it lying if she finished her sentences in her head?
Her shishou seemed to frown, eye darkening. "You shouldn't have had to."
'Oh. That's what this is about. He's feeling guilty now that he realizes no one stepped up to take care of us after Minato and Kushina died.'
The realization was surprisingly irritating. Aiko rolled her eyes, exasperated. He'd been fourteen and just lost the last of his support system—of course he hadn't been able to take the twins in, even if he had been able to afford and care for two infants.
"Who cares what I 'shouldn't have had' to do? It's a bit late now, and obviously it worked out. Look at how well adjusted I am." She held her hands out in demonstration, and momentarily regretted that Yamato wasn't there. That joke would have garnered at least a snort.
"Tough crowd," she muttered at Kakashi's unamused expression. Aiko shrugged, turning away and stubbornly avoiding his eye, pretending to be engrossed in hand seals. "Look, I don't know what you want me to say. I don't regret it. I like being an adult."
Kakashi just looked tired and depressed, slumping his shoulders inward."But you weren't. Minato was my sensei. I should have-"
"Bullshit." The fingers of her right hand, which had been trying to flash through the handsigns she'd just been taught, clenched convulsively. Her neck was so stiff that it hurt a little. "I doubt you were in any state to take in two infants. Besides, I can't imagine thinking of you as a father figure." He recoiled, but she didn't feel guilty. "You're my mentor and probably my best friend." The touchy-feely admission was a little embarrassing, so she closed her eyes entirely. "It's between you and Naruto, and I just don't think he has the appropriate sass for the role."
He snorted. But he didn't say anything else, be it a refutation or a continuation of his pity party, so she counted it as a victory.
It was surprisingly easy to fall back into their old patterns of behavior, which would have been nice if Aiko hadn't been attempting to alter her own actions. She was probably too old to cling off of him now, and it would only encourage her silly infatuation. So she maintained a little more distance than she would have only three months ago, but he didn't comment.
They only stayed in the training field for another hour. She wasn't exactly a novice with solid chakra manifestations, but this one ate a shocking amount of her chakra. As she worked she was becoming a little more efficient, which was reassuring, but she wouldn't be whipping this one out in combat any time too soon. It wasn't the jutsu itself that was the issue. Nor was it that her reserves were low. It was her inexperience with maintaining multiple shapes at once, which only practice could rectify.
Aiko wasn't worried. If shishou thought she could master this, then she could. He wasn't one to overestimate anyone's abilities.
"You can't teach a cat fire ninjutsu," Anko said firmly. She didn't draw the line often, but this seemed like a good place to do so.
Karin just scoffed, "Hater," under her breath, but Hinata looked up from her attempt to manipulate little paws through approximations of hand signs and calmly uttered, "That's what you keep saying, but I'm not convinced."
"Why else would Naruto be so convinced Smaug is a dragon?" Karin added practically. "Maybe Smaug is a fire-natured cat."
Anko rolled her eyes. "Fine, whatever, do what you want." She pointedly edged far away from the cat experiment and worked her way to the kitchen. Hinata was the only person that damn animal seemed to tolerate, and she wasn't interested in bleeding from her face. (Smaug always went for the eyes or throat). She dropped her bag on the floor as she went, and yanked open the fridge to contemplatively frown inside. Triumphantly, she withdrew a container of leftovers, peeled the lid up to sniff it, and then asked, "D'you think Aiko would notice if I took these blanched vegetables?"
"Probably," Aiko drawled, leaning against the counter and eying Anko's back.
The older girl jumped a bit and hit her head on a shelf, cursing. "Don't fucking sneak up on me, bitch!"
Aiko huffed in amusement, digging around the fruit bowl for an apple. She just wasn't seeing one, though. Maybe she'd had the last one yesterday? "It's my house. I can sneak if I want to."
"That's no excuse," Anko snapped, cradling her head and letting the fridge shut with a bang.
"Oh, lay off it," Karin sighed, wandering in to poke around sadly at the empty cookie jar. "Hey, Aiko, you love me, right? Since you're so nice, would you-"
"'So nice'? Is that the best you can do?" She raised an eyebrow at her cousin skeptically. "That's pretty weak flattery. Maybe you should say something about my impeccable style, or my awesome hair day, or-"
"I'm an honest girl, and I don't want cookies that badly," Karin shot back with a smirk. "I would never undermine my integrity for food." Unseen, Anko (intrepid fridge looter that she was) flipped Karin off. Bored, Karin dropped the lid with a clatter that made Aiko wince, but at least it didn't crack either the jar or lid. "I guess it doesn't matter. We need to go."
"Anko. You didn't plan for lunch, then?" When Anko shook her head with a pathetic pout, Aiko sighed with faux irritation. "Just take my bento then, you utter barbarian. I'll go out for lunch. When are you guys going to be back?"
Hinata meandered in, snatching the blue bento out of Anko's greedy claws and dutifully packing it away with hers and Karin's boxes in a knapsack. "Tomorrow morning, if all goes as planned."
"Alright, I'll probably still be here then."
The house emptied, but Aiko wandered aimlessly from room to room, feeling restless and strange. She'd been asked not to work any further on Sen Tsurara without supervision, and shishou was out on another mission above her skill level. Yamato was probably with him, but she didn't have an idea as to who his third teammate would be.
'I bet Sasuke's around,' she mused. 'I haven't seen him in forever. Maybe we could do lunch and catch up?'
Since he had begun his specialization, Sasuke had been entirely confined to the village. Oddly enough, he didn't seem resentful. That probably meant his training was going very well—he liked seeing visible improvement. Off hand, she couldn't think of anything else that would mitigate the irritation of not getting any chance to stretch his legs and get in real fights.
Although she was still a little achy from her workout late last night, Aiko felt much more optimistic about her day when she had something of a plan.
It only took an instant for her to realize that she didn't envy her housemates who would be sleeping outside that night. Even as she opened the door, Aiko had to cringe away from the biting wind. She slammed it immediately and walked right back into the house to change clothes.
Pulling a long-sleeved blue shirt much like her shishou's out of her closet, she had to freeze and giggle hysterically at the thought of how miserable Karin must be in her shorts. There was no way that Anko would let her go back for a change just because she hadn't planned well (never mind that Anko was a terrible planner as well). Just because it amused her, she changed out of her own shorts and pulled on a short white skirt over blue leggings instead of wearing pants like a responsible, grown-up kunoichi would. She completed the outfit with shoes that had been a gag gift (at least, she hoped it wasn't a sign that his taste in fashion had gotten even sillier) that Naruto had mailed to her from a city she'd never even heard of. They were shaped something like Mary Janes and appeared to be white patent leather… with a smiling cat face in black stitching on the toe area.
'These are fucking awesome', she had decided when she'd opened the package.
Karin hadn't seemed to agree, but it wasn't Aiko's fault that the other redhead had no taste. It was a shame, but there it was.
Lunch with Sasuke didn't work out—when she stopped by the hospital to try to find him, she was told he was with a patient and couldn't be disturbed. So she asked that he be told that she had stopped by, but didn't really hold much faith that he would get back to her in time. It was ten in the morning already at that point, after all. Bored and a bit lonely, she decided to get the unpleasant task of some clothes shopping out of the way, while Karin was safely out of the village and unable to nitpick. She didn't feel like she was getting fat or had put on weight, but her clothes weren't fitting like they used to. Even the skirt she was wearing at the moment was a little too snug to really provide the freedom of movement she needed.
Looking in the mirror in the changing room, she felt a little more daring than she had the last time she had gone clothes shopping. That had been when she was twelve… The thought brought her the unpleasant realization that she hadn't had a growth spurt in a very long time.
Regardless, now that she was finally old enough—technically a legal adult, by Konoha's standards even though fourteen seemed frightfully young to her—she was willing to get slightly more risqué with her leisure wear, if not her mission clothing.
As Konoha was much more prone to small, specific stores run by families instead of large department stores, that meant quite a few trips around town that loaded her down with a good forty pounds of bags. Staggering slightly, not from the weight but from the unwieldiness of her load, Aiko set off to drop her new things off at home—and startled when an irritated looking Yamanaka grabbed her shoulder from behind.
"How rude!" Ino sniffed, looking at her purple-painted nails. "You didn't come to tell me about how your date went, after I slaved over getting you ready."
Aiko blinked, mildly confused. 'Slaved? She brought over something she already owned and put my hair in a bun with a fabric flower. Maybe this is more of that ettiquite I missed out on?'
"I'm sorry," she apologized, trying to rearrange her bags to better see the road she was accidentally blocking. Shikamaru, Asuma, and Chouji came up the road in the direction Ino must have come from, wearing varying expressions of boredom and irritation.
"Ino, let the poor girl go home," Asuma drawled through a cigarette. Ino blushed, but didn't back off.
"Yes, weren't we going somewhere?" Chouji said pointedly, glaring at his kunoichi comrade.
Shikamaru seemed to have a sudden idea. At least, the suddenly wicked gleam in his eye indicated that it was a good one. But when he finally voiced it, it sounded surprisingly tame. "Why don't you just invite her along, so we can get going?"
Ino scowled at him, but it seemed to be more out of habit than anything. "Fine." She snatched most of the bags off of Aiko's arms despite her protestations—and then shoved them at Shikamaru and Chouji while Asuma snickered, giving Aiko a conspiratorial wink she didn't understand. "Look alive, boys, you weren't seriously going to let a lady carry all this?" She peeked inside one, and let a sly smile creep across her face. "You went clothes shopping all on your own? I'm so proud."
"I usually go shopping on my own," Aiko said dryly. "I don't particularly appreciate the implication that I'm incapable of dressing myself. I'm a big girl. I tie my own sandals and everything."
Chouji blinked and looked down at her definitely unfastened shoes with a vaguely perplexed expression. There wasn't anything to tie. They were slip-ons. He opened his mouth—and then Asuma slapped a palm over it. Ino didn't notice when he leaned over and muttered, "It's best not to get involved," and then gave him a commiserating pat on the back.
They fell to the back of the group, partly because they were lazy and partly because it was safest to be out of Ino's direct line of vision. As soon as there was enough distance, Chouji elbowed his friend and muttered, "What's going on?"
Shikamaru snorted, warily eying Ino as if to gauge the distance before he dared speak up. "Isn't it obvious?" he grouched. "Ino is feeling territorial and jealous, now that it's sunk in that her friend would rather spend time with another girl. She doesn't want to date Aiko and she'd turn her down if she was asked on a date, but she doesn't like that Aiko would pick someone else over her. She's convinced herself that since she's the most desirable," (here he rolled his eyes), "that it doesn't make sense that anyone wouldn't want to date her."
They hadn't noticed that Asuma had lingered close enough to hear them until he gave a low chuckle. "That's a pretty good analysis, Shikamaru, but you missed something."
He looked distinctly put out at the gentle admonition. "That so," Shikamaru said flatly.
"Yes." Asuma replied, looking amused by the whole thing. "But I think I'll let you figure the rest out on your own. You're missing something pretty major about what this says about Ino's personality."
"She's bossy, territorial, and passive aggressive?" Chouji offered up just a little too loudly. Shikamaru reflexively flinched, until he realized that Ino had somehow been too distracted by whatever she was babbling to hear the insult as she usually did with those terrifying bat-ears of hers. (Even if Chouji hadn't meant to be insulting at all, she would hit him senseless when she caught him).
"We already knew all that. No, that's not what he meant. She's highly insecure," Shikamaru said flatly, giving his friend a scathing look for nearly setting Ino's massive temper on them. Chouji gave a cringing, apologetic grin in response. "None of this would be necessary if she didn't put such high importance on her physical desirability, but she's also feeling threatened by one of her few female friends spending time with another girl. Ino subconsciously thinks that Aiko is going to leave her like Sakura did, back in the Academy."
Asuma nodded. "Got it in one, so be nice to your teammate, alright boys?"
"Tch," Shikamaru deflected, turning his face away. He wouldn't have teased her about it- not much, anyway. They were friends, after all, even if she was troublesome.
"I'm glad we have this opportunity to talk, Kakashi."
Sunlight pinged off of perfectly straight teeth, and Yamato cringed a little. There was just something about being around Gai that made him feel like he had a massive hangover—sunlight and noises suddenly became painful.
It didn't make any sense, but there it was.
Kakashi yawned, letting his eye close blearily. Maybe Gai would get bored and go chase butterflies if he didn't play into his hands?
As pleasant as the thought was, it just wasn't to be.
"What do you think about the recent development inextricably bonding our teams?" Gai grinned, giving a confusing little chuckle that Kakashi refused to think too deeply about along with his 'thumbs-up'.
Yamato twitched. 'This is not inextricable bonding,' he grumped. 'It's one mission, turtle man.'
Kakashi seemed to be having similar thoughts. Instead of replying verbally, he just raised one eyebrow and pulled out a book. He actually startled (rather like when someone steps on a cat's tail, Yamato mused) at Gai's booming laugh—that was traditionally where Gai would mope about being dismissed. Was something going on?
"Oh, my rival, you are too cool," Gai wiped away an inexplicable tear. "How hip of you, to pretend that you did not know that your young apprentice has fallen for my student's charms!"
There was a bizarre sound when Yamato simultaneously wheezed in surprise and forgot how to walk, ending up face-down in the dirt. Kakashi couldn't blame him. He was trying to remember…
'Did Aiko sustain any head injuries while we were gone?' Try as he might, he couldn't think of any potential cause for such a radical change in personality. 'Is she ill? Has she been dared to do something by that Yamanaka girl?'
"What."
The flat response seemed to delight Gai, who gave a wicked smile. "Why, if I didn't know better, I'd say that she hadn't told you that she was going to ask the lovely Tenten out on a romantic encounter!"
Time and space tilted back onto their usual axis, and Kakashi breathed a sigh of relief. Right. It wasn't that strange Lee boy, or even the terrifyingly unstable Hyuuga. It was the perfectly normal… girl…
'Huh. I never would have guessed.' Kakashi shrugged. Then he wondered if he knew of any other kunoichi couples. That was much more common in the civilian sector (where relationships were much less likely to be influenced by clan politics requiring that people reproduce at a young age to replace them when they inevitably died at age 22 or so. It was sort of the vicious cycle of shinobi life.)
Then again, Aiko didn't really have a clan-influenced upbringing, and as far as he knew Gai's student didn't come from a ninja family. So they might not even be approaching their relationship from the generally accepted shinobi practice of indulging in same-sex relationships temporarily before they eventually got down to the clan mandated reproduction.
He stopped in his tracks, suddenly terrified that his student had gotten into a serious relationship. But... but… Wasn't Aiko too young to be mooning over older girls? 'If she tries to come to me for romantic advice, I will request deportment to Suna,' he decided darkly.
With that, he happily dismissed the train of thought. He'd already decided Aiko was a big girl. She could take care of herself. Unless she asked him for help, he'd assume that she would be able beat the older girl into next week on her own if this 'Tenten' got too fresh.
"You've got to be kidding me," Suigetsu whined under his voice, flipping through the latest edition of the bingo book. Reading it in the dark of the sketchy bar he was in was hard enough that he had to check a second time ot be certain he hadn't just missed a page. The first sword he wanted to acquire should have been easy to find- Zabuza surely merited a fucking page in the bingo book. He'd been locked up in Orochimaru's shithole for a while, but not that long.
Of course, Suigetsu hadn't investigated the political state of his old country. All he had to know was that there would be no point to returning unless it was the only way to complete his goal, and he'd rather try to kill them all than kowtow to the fuckers who had been ruining his childhood home when he'd left. Hence why he had gotten the hell out of there before the Mist backup team those Konoha and Sand nin were expecting had showed up. Depending on who was in charge, he would either have been dragged back into their forces or would have had to cut his way out. He hadn't liked his chances at that- he wasn't an idiot. Suigetsu recognized Hatake Kakashi when he saw him, and didn't particularly want to fight a lightning user without a damn good blade. Besides, it would have been a damn shame to have to cut up those two girls.
He felt himself smirk at the thought, trying not to get too excited at the thought of cutting up such pretty skin. It would be fun in the short term, but he'd rather flirt with hot girls than dismember them, even if the blonde was a fucking bitch with stupid weaponry. At least the redhead had a sword, plain as it was. Suigetsu shivered at the memory- he'd been locked up for long enough that immediately running into a pretty bitch cutting people up had probably softened him to her more than was wise or deserved. She wasn't that good, after all. Nothing on him or his goals for the best group of swords there had ever been.
"Hey, you." He slammed his fist irritably on the countertop, catching the barkeep's attention. The woman rolled her eyes, but meandered over.
"What the hell now, brat? That's the latest edition."
"Can't be," Suigetsu sneered. "Where the hell is Momochi Zabuza?"
She snorted, thoroughly unimpressed. "You fuckin' kidding me? He's been dead for a while. Some Konoha team ganked him.
'What,' Suigetsu thought flatly. 'Is she fucking serious? I was just with a Konoha team last week. If I'd known... I could have pretended to be with the current administration and gotten some information.'
"Realllly," he drawled out, looking unimpressed. "Can you get a little more specific?"
"It'll cost you." She grinned at him, shamelessly displaying a missing tooth. Then she froze, wide-eyed at the sword kissing her throat.
"Or," Suigetsu purred into her ear, from his new position behind her. He was thoroughly fed up with this bullshit. "You could just tell me, because we're such good friends."
Stiffly, she leaned back as best as she could, trying not to move too much when she muttered, "Fine, asshole. Let me go, so I can show you." He withdrew enough to let her move around, but kept his sword out and his eyes on her when she grudgingly rifled through the more unofficial bingo book entries. That in itself told him something- whoever he was looking for wasn't a missing nin, and the country who had blacklisted them wasn't technically at war with their home village. That was the only reason they'd be in the unofficial bookings. Someone wanted them dead, but didn't want to be liable for it.
The bartender ripped the page clean out of her book and shoved it at him, never minding that it crinkled. "Enjoy. Now get the hell out of this establishment."
"Gladly," Suigetsu muttered, sheathing his blade and snatching the bounty. He didn't even look at it until he got outside in the fresh air.
At that point, he cursed up a storm.
'Well, at least I know the bitch's name now,' he thought darkly. 'Definitely should have claimed to be allies.'
She looked younger on paper, but the redhead with the sword was unmistakable. Picture must have been old. Squinting, he decided it must have been her headshot after Academy graduation, which meant she didn't take a lot of high-profile missions. If she did, there would be more recent unofficial shots of her. That probably pegged her as some sort of specialist that seldom worked with clients, like an assassin or a tracker.
"Which means that tracking her down without infiltrating Konoha will be a pain," he muttered. Maybe it would be more worth his time to investigate what the hell was going on in Mist, first.

So this is actually three questions.
Who's your favorite BL pairing when it comes to their interactions as characters, regardless of the physical chemistry between the actors or your feelings on the show itself?
Who's your favorite acting pair as far as chemistry between the two, regardless of how you feel about the characters they're playing?
Which BL couple do you like best when considering both of those things?
Oooo, do I detect... a challenge? You didn’t confine me to a country so I’m picking one from each. Also I am not allowing myself to pull from my 10/10 or favorite all rounders. Because honestly who could ever beat We Best Love, To My Star, Until We Meet Again, Color Rush, Semantic Error, Light On Me, or Seven Days? This is me, after all.
Who's your favorite BL pairing when it comes to their interactions as characters, regardless of the physical chemistry between the actors or your feelings on the show itself?
Word of Honor repping for China
Silhouette of Your Voice repping for Japan. I love love LOVE these characters and perhaps I’m influenced by the source yaoi (I Hear the Sunspot) but I don’t care. WHY did we not get more? A remake? ANYTHING.
A First Love Story repping for Korea. Sigh. Just... sigh.
See You After Quarantine? repping for Taiwan (Taiwan gave me the hardest time with this question) but OMG did I love these two so much and want so much more of them together as boyfriends.
Love By Chance (actually a really easy pick despite Thailand’s glut of BL) and yes My Ride was the main challenger but AePete STILL remain one of the few couples I rewatch just for their interactions.
How did I decide? I thought about which characters I really just liked watching them interact with each other as characters, it didn’t have to be a romantic or sexy scene. Also which ones I could imagine writing fanfic for (even though I don’t write fanfic). Also, I had to like the archetypes in play and like BOTH the seme and the uke characters. Usually, I get at least somewhat annoyed with one or the other.
Who's your favorite acting pair as far as chemistry between the two, regardless of how you feel about the characters they're playing?
Okay so I took this to me physical chemistry specifically, and for this one I went with the transference of sexual feedback energy. In that I believed the two characters actually really desire each other. And I do mean each other. For example Nitiman I totally BELIEVE Bboom wanted Jin but not the reverse. I like the moots to moot all the way into bed.... so to speak.
Advance Bravely repping for China (we were ROBBED)
The Novelist repping for Japan, I mean I could go darker and hotter but I can’t be arsed.
Kissable Lips repping for Korea, no really. When I say I can’t wait for these two to do another BL I really mean it, and not just because I’m curious about their pair branding technique.
My Day repping for the Philippines.
HIStory 4 repping for Taiwan, and that is quite the hill to have conquered boys. Congratz.
Why R U? repping for Thailand.
Thailand definitely gave me the hardest time with this one. MaxTul, Zee+ and Mew+? No one talks about Mew’s first series but I was really tempted to drop What the Duck on y’all and watch you squirm. I’m not that mean, tho.
Which BL couple do you like best when considering both of those things?
This is where I made it hard on myself not allowing myself any of my top 10 best BLs. Hummm.... So good sexual chemistry + great characters, both of whom I like and want more of in and out of the sack?
Love O2O repping for China, again with the robbing. So unfair. Did they have good sexual chemistry? I don’t know, but I WANT TO FIND OUT.
Old Fashion Cupcake repping for Japan. This was actually an easy pick.
Love is Science? repping for Taiwan. Of course. I want a whole series with them.
Daisy and Intouch from Secret Crush On You repping for Thailand. Now the codicil on this one is I like the characters but I trust neither the scriptwriter nor the director. I’d like these exact characters to be handed a real honest queer narrative with depth and exploration, as well as light hearted and sexy and romantic. But I want THESE characters. Do I even know if the actors can handle high heat? Nope, but I wanna watch them try.
This was one where a lot of Thai side dishes really got considered HARD. Many of my favorite all rounder main couples I feel like I got enough of them in their series, and actually, I’m satisfied (TanBun in Manner of Death for example). But I had to ask myself if I spend more screen time with those side characters would I still like them as much (like PitchBank in Golden Blood or SanAei in You’re My Sky or KhunKaow in Brothers). I don’t know anymore.
Yes RamKing nearly won, of course they did. But I’m tired of waiting. Also VegasPete, of course.
You didn’t ask, but there are certainly some Thai acting pairs who I think should be handed more meaty roles that have good character + require chemistry like: YinWar, PokeTongue, ToruFirst, ChapGreen, MaxTul (YES MORE) and KarnNat (YES MORE).
Also I will die wanting more from these two fuckers:

Mafia! BTS - They Teach You How to Defend Yourself
Warnings: mentions of violence
This is sort of a continuation of the ex-girlfriend series, however, not a part of it.
Jin
"Y/N? Can I talk to you?" asked Jin with a small knock on your bedroom which used to be his own as well. You looked up from your book, making the page with your finger before your eyes met Jin's. He was standing by the door, leaning his shoulder against the frame. A strange look rested on his face that you had never had the chance to notice before.
"Is something wrong?" you frowned although it did not seem like anything was the matter.
"No," he shook his head but there was definitely something on his mind. "I just wanted to talk to you."
Jin took the armchair across your own and crossed his legs elegantly, however, his fingers were intertwined.
"I..." he began as if he had trouble finding the words which was something you had never witnessed with him before. It made you close the book entirely and focus on what he was about to say.
"I want you to learn how to defend yourself even when I'm not around."
You stared at each other motionlessly for a moment whilst you barely had enough time to comprehend what Jin had suggested.
"What do you mean?" you asked.
"I know how this sounds," spoke Jin almost angrily. He uncrossed his legs and leant his forearms against his knees as he leaned closer to you. "It sounds like I won't be there to protect you if anything happens and that's not what I mean, I fucking promise you that, Y/N."
I know, you wanted to say but you kept your mouth shut. Your eyebrows furrowed together and your stomach gave a squeeze.
"But I want you to be safe even when I'm not around you. Especially since..." began Jin but stopped himself because he was about to mention how the two of you were basically broken up. Everything that had happened made you lose trust in him and Jin contemplate with his own issues that led to this - what more, trying to figure out how to fix your relationship.
"Okay..." you agreed quietly and put your book away, "Teach me."
Jin's mouth parted as he looked you in the eye, the guilt washing off some upon hearing your eagerness.
In the following week, Jin taught you the basics of self-defence from breaking a choke-hold, what to do when someone grabs your hair or your arm. He even showed you how to escape zip ties. However, the worst and last, Jin taught you what to do if someone put a cloth over your mouth and tried to drug you just the way it happened with his mad ex-girlfriend.
"We don't have to do it yet," said Jin when you were supposed to show him what you have learned. He knew this final defence technique might trigger you but you were determined.
Yet when Jin pretended to be the assaulter and put his palm across your mouth, you froze. All that he had taught you, it disappeared from your mind and escaped through your eyes. Tears stung your cheeks and your breathing quickened. Jin released you immediately and you backed away, facing him instead of showing him your back.
He licked his dry lips at the sight of you. He wanted nothing more but to hug you, to console you but he would only make things worse, he knew it.
"It's okay, it's okay..." Jin whispered instead and at least took a step towards you, showing you his empty hands. "We'll try again later, I promise."
You nodded as you sat down, taking in a long calming breath. You bit your lip and looked Jin in the eye. He was kneeling in front of you.
"I want to try again," you insisted, wiping away your tears as you gritted your teeth.
Namjoon
"I..." began Namjoon as the two of you sat at the dinner table, neither of you particularly eager to eat. You looked up from your plate, finding it unusual that Namjoon could not find the words to say. He was usually so well-spoken it often intimidated you.
"I want you to learn to defend yourself," he said at last and put down his chopsticks as he looked into your eyes. "There... There may be a time when I won't be able to be by your side just like... Like what happened..."
Namjoon did not want to finish the sentence. You both knew what he was talking about and it was almost as triggering to him as it was to you.
"It won't ever happen again," Namjoon corrected himself, a firmness to his voice. "Not like that, I'll make sure of it," he assured. "But I want you to be safe even when I am not around."
You stared at him puzzled, hardly believing you were hearing him right. He would not even hear you trying to learn about his side of work, now he wants you to learn to defend yourself in such situations.
"You mean like... Holding a gun?" you asked, your lips going dry.
Namjoon's mouth parted but he managed to find his words again. "Among others."
"Like what?" you asked almost timidly yet you could not help but feel intrigued.
The following day, Namjoon took you to his workplace. He showed you to the room where you had never been before. Truth be told, you only knew the way to his office because everything else was off limits.
The room looked like any other, however, the floors were covered with a soft material and there were several gym tools set here and there.
Namjoon showed you how to defend yourself when attacked, taken by surprise or when you found yourself in a stronghold. You tried hard because you wanted to learn, you needed to learn, but it was more difficult than it looked. All of the moves were foreign to you. You had never moved that way, nor used the muscles necessary to protect yourself in dangerous situations. But Namjoon was patient. He showed you how to do it, how to throw a punch and break a chokehold. Once you got the grip of it, the learning process went on fast.
Yet one day, he did not take you his office building. You went to a different location - a shooting range. There was no one else in the building but the two of you and the man waiting for you at the door. Inside, Namjoon explained to you the different calibres and went over the safety rules several times.
Your heart beat fast when he asked you to shoot at one of the targets. Your hands were sweaty and your stomach had twisted into knots.
"Shh, just breathe out," spoke Namjoon softly as he stepped behind you and placed his hands over your own. You did as he told you.
"Now breathe in and don't let it out until you've pulled the trigger or you might miss your shot."
You steadied your breathing and Namjoon took his hands off your own. Before you knew it, you had pulled the trigger. A loud bang, louder than you had imagined it would be echoed through your body like vibrations on water. Your lips parted and you let out a shivering breath. There was a hole in the man-like target right where the heart would have been if it had one. The gun was hot in your hand and you could hear nothing but the sound of blood pulsating through your veins.
Namjoon stared at the hole in the cardboard doll, an unusual warm feeling creeping to his stomach. Suddenly, he got the urge to touch you, to hold you and kiss you. He was proud. Even though you were not his anymore, not the way he wanted it, he was proud of you.
Yoongi
"I got you a present," said Yoongi when he returned back from work one day. It's only been a couple of days since you returned here despite your better judgement.
You looked up from your laptop, just finishing an assignment. There was an oak box in Yoongi's hands with silver clips on each end.
"I don't want a present from you," you whispered and returned to typing.
"It's not that type of present," spoke Yoongi and offered you the small yet heavy looking box once again. His rings clinked against the polished wood. "It's not something to earn your forgiveness. It's to keep you safe," he explained. Your fingers slowed down and you rose your eyes to the box again.
"Now open it please, kitten."
You licked your dry lips and took the box. You clicked open the clips, revealing a heavy black gun. The handle was carved with rose thorns and it seemed as if no one had touched it before. Two sets of bullets lay beside it.
Your eyebrows rose but your heart dropped to your stomach. Blood rushed to your head as it throbbed through your neck. You licked your lips again, chewing on the corner.
"What's this?" you asked, looking up at Yoongi.
"I'll teach you how to use it," he said and sat down beside you.
Yoongi took the gun from the box and showed you how to hold it, where to load it and how to clean it. He told you about its reach and how much damage it can cause. You paid close attention, forgetting all about your assignment. The laptop died while you soaked in Yoongi's every word.
"Here, you try it," said Yoongi and handed you your gun. You glanced into his eyes before you took the heavy weapon in your palm. You tried everything he showed you on your own but you had forgotten how to remove the safety guard.
Yoongi's hands clasped around your own, moving your fingers wherever he led them. Breath caught in the back of your throat at the touch of his warm skin. It's been a long time since you felt him this close to you, his breath touching the top of your shoulder and brushing against your exposed neck.
"Why did you give me this?" you breathed, locking your gaze with his own.
"I need you to be safe even if... even when I'm not around," he admitted yet Yoongi did not show any vulnerability, any emotion.
It was that moment that you realized that you were not together anymore, not properly at least. Neither of you had given up yet but you saw it in his eyes that he was more concerned about your safety than trying to gain you back. A part of Yoongi knew you won't be able to forgive him and just for a moment, you had a thought that he was wrong about that.
Hoseok
"I want you to call in sick today," said Hoseok as he leaned against the doorframe of now your bedroom which you used to share. You were putting on your earrings, getting ready for work when he interrupted you.
You frowned and fixed your hair before looking him in the eye.
"Why would I do that? I'm not quitting my job just because I agreed to live here again, Hoseok," you pointed out and grabbed your bag. You had suspected that he did not want you working again because Hoseok liked taking care of you - and providing for you financially was one of the ways he expressed it.
"I am not asking you to quit your job, Y/N," said Hoseok as he followed you down the hallway.
"Let me guess, you're demanding it," you sassed and slipped on your sneakers. Although you were grateful that he saved you from his ex-girlfriend, although you were grateful that you did not have to be alone in the apartment where it happened, you could not hide your annoyance with him. It was just a cover though because in truth you were not annoyed, you were hurt.
Hoseok frowned at the tone of your voice and blocked your way as you tried to go out. You stopped on your tracks before bumping into him, frowning yourself.
"Hoseok-"
"I want you to learn self-defence," he cut you off, "That's why I need you to take the day off - because you need to learn how to protect yourself when I'm not there."
You paused, your lips parting but your blood suddenly boiled.
"I need to protect myself even when you're around me," you whispered, taking Hoseok's breath away.
"I'm sorry," he said before you could speak again. You closed your eyes and looked away.
"Sorry isn't good enough, Ho... Hoseok," you murmured, nearly calling him Hobi.
"I know," he agreed, his words bringing your gaze back to him. "That's why I need you to call in sick today. I need to know that you're safe even if we..." Hoseok stopped himself in the middle of the sentence but you could almost finish for him. Even if we break up.
You looked up into his brown eyes, your stomach untwisting some. You glanced down for a moment before you nodded and let your superior know you were going to be absent for a few days.
During the rest of the week, you trained together with Hoseok. He showed you basic self-defence, pointing out the things you needed to work on and praising you for every effort. In the end, he took you to a special room in the basement of his office building. It was a kind of a shooting range.
"This one is yours from now on," said Hoseok as he handed you a beautiful metallic gun. He said it was one of the lighter ones they made but it still weighed heavy in your hand. Despite the elegant exterior of the gun, it was still a very deadly weapon. You flinched each time you pulled the trigger but you were a natural nonetheless. You hit bullseye on each and every target except for one.
Hoseok took the gun from your hands, his fingers brushing gently against your own. Your eyes shot up to his own as breath hitched in the back of your throat. You did not know you could feel this way again but for the slightest moment, you felt safe. Not because of Hoseok or the gun itself, but because you could protect yourself. Nevertheless, it was Hoseok who showed you how to do it and guided you for the past few days and deep down you could not help but feel grateful.
Jimin
There was a soft knock on your bedroom door just as you almost got to bed. You turned around, finding Jimin stand against the doorframe.
"I need you to come out with me tomorrow," he spoke quietly. His hair fell onto his eyes as if he had just gotten out of the shower.
"Out?" you frowned.
"I..." began Jimin but he did not seem to find the right words to express what was on his mind. He licked his lips. "I want to teach you how to use a gun."
Your mouth parted and your eyebrows fell. A clenching fist wrapped around your lungs, squeezing them hard as you yearned for a long fresh breath.
"Why?" you almost stuttered, having no idea what he was up to.
"I want you to learn how to defend yourself on your own. I can't... I couldn't be beside you when you needed me and... and I need you to do this for me, just this. I need to know that you'll always be safe," explained Jimin, struggling to describe his thoughts more than ever.
You stared at him puzzled, wondering if he was saying what you thought he was saying. The thought of him letting you leave without a fight if you decided to do so nearly made your heart jump out of your chest. It was not because you wanted to leave but because it gave you a certain freedom to respect your feelings as well as his own.
The next day, you went with Jimin to his private shooting range. It was a strange feeling you holding his gun. Something he had spent months and months hiding from you. It was unusual for Jimin as well. His heart was beating fast seeing your fingers wrapped snuggly around his gun yet he had ever confidence in you.
"I'm not sure I can do this," you confessed as your hands got sweaty.
"You can," assured Jimin without a hint of doubt. He stepped up behind you and put his arms on top of yours. "Just relax," he spoke against your ear, sending shivers down your spine. You focused nevertheless and let out a long breath. Your knees felt weak but for some reason having Jimin by your side assured you that it was going to be alright.
"Now take a breath, aim, pull the trigger," spoke Jimin slowly as he cocked your gun for you, "Then breathe out."
You did as you were told. The bullet pierced through the cardboard person's stomach, the next through its lungs and the last through its head.
Jimin breathed out in sync with you as if it were him pulling the trigger. His warm breath hit the side of your neck, his chest easing against your back.
"I knew you'd be wonderful," said Jimin and stepped away to your side. Your eyes found his, studying his face for any patronizing traits but there was nothing but clean cut honesty there.
"I'm proud of you, Y/N," he spoke almost to himself but it made your heart flutter nevertheless. "It doesn't mean much coming from me-"
"It does," you cut him off, "Even with all that's happened, I... There... There was so much good, there still is, I just... I need more time, I'm sorry," you told him, placing down your gun on the counter as if signalling a peace flag for your relationship.
Taehyung
"I just can't do this anymore, Taehyung," you spoke on the verge of tears. "I can't... I want to go home but I... I don't want to go home," you tried to explain yourself as you buried your face in your hands.
"You can stay here," he tried to convince you.
"But I don't feel safe here either!" you rose your voice but it cracked in the middle, leaving your face tear-stung and your lungs out of breath.
"Then let me show you how to protect yourself," said Taehyung as his heart broke at the sight of you. He knew you hated depending on others and whilst you still trusted him, you were alright with that being him. But it was all different now.
You were a part of a world you had no idea about. There was so much violence and horror that you knew of yet no way of defending yourself from it. Even before Taehyung would never speak to you about the side of his life that was his work yet you would still see the wounds it left.
You rose your gaze to Taehyung's, slowly pacing your breathing.
"What are you talking about?" you whispered.
"I'll show you how to protect yourself so that you won't have to depend on me anymore," he spoke almost remorsefully. If he had not messed things up so badly, you would have still trusted him and this entire horrible experience would never happen. Not the false information, not the kidnapping nor the moving out.
You spent the next week training with Taehyung, memorizing different techniques on how to defend yourself from an assaulter. Whether it would come from behind you, beside you, come running to you or simply attacked from the front, Taehyung taught you everything.
In the end however, Taehyung got you a present. You opened it warily yet inside there was a slick silver-like gun. The bottom of the handle was engraved with your initials.
"What... I thought..." you began, scared to even touch the gun.
"Sometimes your fists are not enough," said Taehyung and took the gun out for you.
He showed you how to take off the safety guard, how to replace the bullets and even clean it. Then he asked you to aim it but you weren't too sure about it until it was right in your hands. Taehyung helped you adjust your grip, his fingers covering your own.
For some reason, the anxiety you had been feeling for weeks, finally released you from its grip even if only for a moment. You let out of a breath of relief as you put the gun in its beautiful box.
"Thank you, Tae," you spoke quietly as you headed back to your bedroom, stopping only right in front of the door. You did not even turn around to look him in the eye but you had to say it.
Taehyung froze on the way to the bathroom, staring at your back. He wished you would turn around, he wished he could see your eyes. But you didn't.
You turned the doorknob and closed the bedroom door behind you. Taehyung knew however that this was the best you could do for him at the moment. He hurt you and he was paying the price of you not trusting him. But he knew he was slowly gaining you back at least a little bit. And that was enough.
Jungkook
You had just made yourself a cup of tea before bed with Jungkook at the kitchen counter working on something on his laptop. However, since you came to the kitchen he could not take his gaze off you. When you turned around with the cup in your hands, his big doe eyes were already glued on you.
"I want you to come to work with me tomorrow," Jungkook spoke out of the sudden. You stopped on your tracks, nearly spilling the hot tea down your bare feet.
"W-What? Why?" you stuttered, taken by surprise.
Jungkook paused, studying your face for a moment. "Please, don't worry," he said softly, the tone of his voice nearly breaking your heart. Even after all that's happened, he could still read you like a book.
"I want you to come with me so I can teach you how to defend yourself," explained Jungkook at last. Your lips parted as you did not know what to say nor understood the reason behind it.
"I'm sorry I..." he began again but could not seem to find the right words. "I'm sorry I didn't protect you like I promised. I... I even betrayed you when I believed her over you," confessed Jungkook, lowering his gaze to the counter.
"If you won't be able to forgive me, I have to at least know that you'll be safe."
You stared at Jungkook even when his eyes met yours again. Your heart beat fast, pumping blood through your neck as you struggled to take a proper breath.
"I... I'll come with you," you agreed quietly before making your way back to the bedroom.
You were going to read a book but your mind was rushing with Jungkook's proposal, what more, what he said after. If you won't be able to forgive me, I have to at least know that you'll be safe. The words brought the tears to your eyes but you did not let them fall. Instead, you turned off the light and waited for the morning to wake you.
Jungkook took you to a strange part of the mafia's building where you had never been before. The corridors seemed familiar to those leading to his office but you were going lower instead of higher up. At last, you reached a gym-like room where Jungkook taught you how to defend yourself in threatening situations. He showed you how to protect yourself if someone grabbed from from behind, if there was a hand pressed to your mouth or an arm against your throat.
Even though you had never felt particularly strong in your life before, at least not physically, it was not something you really needed to protect yourself. You had always thought it was all about muscle, yet you needed to be cunning as well - think outside the box and aim for their weaknesses.
Soon enough, you got a grip on the training, easily defending yourself from Jungkook even when he went at you with all his strength.
As you both sat on the floor sipping on water, Jungkook spoke again.
"This isn't all I want you to learn." He took a small yet heavy looking box from his backpack and before he could even explain you already knew what it was.
"I don't want it," you said determined although not unkind.
"I know how you feel about it," said Jungkook, "But knowing how to break a choke-hold won't help you if someone comes to you with a gun." He offered you the box again and as much as you hated to admit it, Jungkook was right.
He explained how to use it from cleaning to aiming it. The weapon was heavy in your hand although you were surprised to how quick you had gotten used to it.
"We should get going. You must be hungry," said Jungkook to himself and got up.
"Thank you," you cut him off yet kept your eyes away from him. "Thank you for today, Jungkook..."
Jungkook's heart gave a harsh squeeze as he watched you put away your new gun. Blood pulsated through his veins, heat prickling on the back of his neck. He had not felt like he had done anything good for you for a long time and it was true - you were entitled to it. But hearing that from you, even if but a simple thank you, made the guilty weight on his shoulders ease at least a bit.

hi! i have a request, could you write do gangjae x fem reader, where both are located in the time of dongcheon, and when he loses, she comforts him, making him understand that losing is fine, something like super healthy and soft, preventing that gangjae become a psycho, please💌 (sorry for my bad english haha)
Idiot
Pairing: Do Gang-jae x f!reader
Genre: Fluff
Summary: Just you, comforting Gang-jae after his lost fight
Requested?: Yes
A/n: It's short as hell and I'm not entirely happy with it, but I hope it's okay <3
-------------------------------------------------
A good few hours have passed since the fight. The time of screaming was over. Now Gang-jae was indifferent, laughing at himself.
You held ice to his eye, trying not to hurt him. You saw the fight. You saw all this shit. And you saw Ji-woo punch him in the face. But you were there for him.
- I'm a fucking loser. - He mocked himself, while nothing else whirled in his head except the fight.
- You know that's not true. - You looked at him, rubbing your hand against his skin. You knew how much he wanted to win. And you knew him perfectly well. It was not a simple loss for him. He kept telling himself that you have to be a loser to lose and also with a girl.
- True as fuck. She thinks she's so awesome?
You dropped the ice bag and sat across from him, clutching his cheeks. You rested his head on your chest, looking deep into his eyes.
- Gang-jae, please. This is really not a good way of thinking.
You placed an affectionate kiss on his forehead, looking back at him.
- You tried as hard as you could. You did your best. But you have to be prepared for the fact that you cannot always win in life. And losing is not a bad thing. - You looked at him, trying to reason with him. - I may sound stupid to you now, but I'm telling you the truth. You are an amazing man. Your fighting technique and skills are amazing! I believe that you will have a chance to prove your importance. I know how hard you've worked these years. I can see it. Tae-ju sees it. And I guarantee you that Mu-jin sees it too.
He watched sitting silently. Eyes resting on your skin as his hand rubbed your hip.
- She came from nowhere. It was so close and she would be over. Maybe without her-
- Gang-jae, don't do anything stupid. Please. - You turned gaze on him. You didn't want to watch him torment himself over failure. - We are just humans. People have the right to fail. If you are patient, you will get what you want. Please. Trust me.
He sighed, resting his forehead on your chest as if he had given up.
- I know it will bite you for a while. I know how important it was to you. And I know it's not an ordinary fight. But if you want to be someone, you have to be able to recover from failure. - You raised his head, resting your forehead on his. You brushed his hair back, giving him a little kiss on the nose. - And to me, you already are someone.
You noticed that a small smile was forming on his lips.
- You're boring.
You clicked your tongue with resignation, and he rose a little. He shifted your position completely, causing you to lie on his chest now. He put his arms around you.
- And you're an idiot.
- Your idiot. - he added.
You loved that idiot. How could you not love him.
Of course, all of this didn't make him feel much better right away, but it did help anyway. Feeling you in your arms made him feel good. Gang-jae was tough, he was rude, he was sarcastic and he could be a piece of bastard. But with you, at least for a moment he was able to forget what he must be like. The laugh of his, which sounded like a crazy one, had its charm. And listening to him allow himself to talk about whatever he wanted, as much as he liked, and knowing that he was acting this way around you gave you a feeling of warmth and happiness.
