the moment i laid my eyes on him, i felt my heart explode. not in a bad way but seriously, it was love at first sight i believe, looking into his eyes felt like looking into an ocean.. not that his eyes were blue, but his eyes were full of mystery. he was beyond handsome.

his serious personality hid so, so much. i think about all my missed chances in agony. nanami, the smartest and strongest man i had ever known, whether it be mentally or physically. every day i think about what itadori told me, “i couldn’t save him, i’m sorry”. it was never your fault, kid.

we weren’t together, i know. but what pains me more than that is that he never knew my true feelings towards him, and i’ll never know his.

i sit at his grave, sobbing as per usual. i missed the feeling of his arms hugging me, comforting me and the smell of his expensive cologne. i wonder how different things would be if he didn’t die that day.

Ill start by explaining my proccess cause it was quite eventful!

The jumping off a cliff towards something was inspired off of this tiktok :D

Thought it worked GREAT for a character who was so dead-set on his goal he destroyed himself in the process of achieving it… And thats all I had in mind, Wingdings reaching twords his goal (a star/the player) and the rest I just went along with as I drew

I didn’t intend on the background being black, was just a placeholder, so once I finished the line art I fiddled with the color. thought some sort of “blue screen of death” would go well with the themes of what happens to him since he is IN a game. so the universe literally restarts (resets :3) itself to get rid of a glitch (him)

My theory currently is that his goal was to become some sort of player/gain the ability to reset, and once he did that, the game saw him as an error/glitch, so got rid of that- bro IS Turbo from wreck it ralph

After that whole idea- I was looking at some references to replicate the text and it made me go “OOOHOOO” when I saw the QR code like “oooo I could make my own and have some fun with that…” and so I did- and decided to link my original idea for that!

talking about the actual drawing though:

The cliff Dings is running off of has echo flowers because I SWEAR those are important. trust.

Him not wearing gloves is meant to depict how little he cares for his own safety in his last days. I did the same thing in my IM SANE amv!

The “star” having an eye is meant to show how its both the player, and seeing the stars/surface that Wingdings is reaching for.

The wingdings font covering Dings’ face/eye socket is meant to symbolize that perhaps he feels defined by his inability to communicate like other people naturally can.

“Ths Stars, They Cry Out Your Name” is my favorite thing in this… from Wingdings’ perspective, the only thing that matters, that understands him, that TRULY values him…is THE STARS. its like this goal that he has that will make him feel valued. Getting to the surface = being “worth it” But truly, the stars are the PEOPLE that care about him. Asgore, Alphys, Sans, people that are genuinely concerned over his obviously deteriorating mental health- they CRY out his name, not “call” like I had originally planned.

yesterday i tried to do some animations, mainly one of fecto forgo but uh, i fucked up so its gonna sit unfinished forever like most of em. then i decided to animate something simpler like a blinking eye to practice since last time i did an animation was in december, and it was ok. that day i was drawing my chaos elfilis gijinka again and tweaking some stuff since i thougt it was too charged, and also because i dont draw that one a lot. and uh i did this reusing the drawing i was doing

i might have lied last post saying next would be something splatoon or princess peach showtime related but never trust my word because im a dumbass and end up doing other things insted (but more splatoon stuff is coming...eventually, since im working on a redesign of two ocs, i already have one finished but i want to post the two togheter)

ok so gut reaction thoughts after first watch of ep 2 before i forget them

i knew the moment babe mentioned obstacles that kant had paid that guy from the preview to flirt w bison. like he really is kinda sleazy bc i don't get the impression that he's interested in bison at all but he DOES wanna fuck fr. but im kinda obsessed bc obv he's trapped in this situation and is trying to do what he has to to protect himself and his brother but there's something desperate about him and i don't know where it comes from. like i feel like there's still a piece of the puzzle im missing that will make me go 'ah i get it now' when i see it and i need it asap otherwise it might drive me crazy

speaking of getting it now i had a lot of thoughts about romantically naive bison last week that i didn't really talk about bc of the whole power thing that was a lot more interesting for me to sink my teeth into but like. i feel like i Get it now. i see where this is going, i understand how this can spiral out of bison's control

bc i still do think he has power in the sense that i still do think he suspects kant and thinks he can handle the situation alone but i also think that bison has been so sheltered that kant's attention and interest is getting to him a lot more easily than i think he thought it would. like there were moments in this ep that felt a lot more real from bison, like they were actually him and not this persona he's putting on with kant. i think he's kind of becoming a lil enamoured w kant and his audacity and his persistence and flirtation and that that's gonna snowball until suddenly he's caught in the web he's helped to weave and he really does like kant and it really does hurt and then bison's gonna flip out

(and i think with kant it's gonna be a much slower burn in terms of actual feelings, which is gonna make the heartbreak sooo much worse. i can't wait tbf)

and fadel is the exact same as bison in that aspect btw. like for all his 'trust no one, everyone is out to get you' bs all it took was a couple of weeks (if that) of consistent pressure and attention and someone not being scared off for him to find himself in way out of his depth. the only real difference between him and bison is that he has the self awareness to know that it's stupid and dangerous. he knows when people and feelings get involved there's only so much damage control you can do. bison's still naive enough that he thinks he can play with that kind of fire and not get burned by it, whereas fadel seems to know better.

(i have many many thoughts abt fadelstyle but i feel like i still need to process to articulate them properly)

kant catching onto bison calling his mum 'mother' and bison's face and obvious lie abt it when kant pointed out how weird that is goes into another thought i had last week which is that 'mother' really is less of an actual mother and more of a boss which makes me think bison lied and that he and fadel probably really were adopted, (maybe rescued from some of the 'bad people' she obviously has an issue with?) maybe even w the intention of raising them into being her weapons instead of her children. i bet she uses affection and/or guilt as a tool to get them to comply (which i'd bet works more effectively on fadel than bison) and do what they're told. if they literally owe her their lives or she 'saved them' from a bad situation, ofc she's gonna use that to get them to do her bidding. it also might explain why both boys r so susceptible to the attention and affection they're both getting even tho they should both know better - if they've been starved of it as children, they're going to be more desperate for it (and vulnerable to it) as adults.

also surprisingly i don't think the bdsm thing between kant and bison is actually going to be necessarily sexual in nature, not exclusively. at least not at first. like the fact that in the preview bison was like 'will you let me continue what i started at the tattoo parlour?' (meaning the nipple clamps) implies there was no finishing it if you catch my drift. like it seems as though it's gonna be less of a 'let me tie you down and hurt you a lil while we fuck' and more a full blown Dynamic ygm. like bison's really gonna be out here nipple clamping that man just bc he can. bc kant's gonna let him. which is not what i expected? not in a bad way but i guess im pleasantly surprised that it seems like it's gonna have that much depth to it.

(and if i'm right doesn't that just emphasise how it's less of a sex thing and more of a power thing for bison? he's not doing it exclusively to get off, it's obviously more than that for him.)

but also the look on kant's face makes me think that the ppl who said that bdsm isn't necessarily kant's thing but that he goes along with it bc it's what bison wants were right. which is so interesting to me, i cannot wait to see how that shakes out.

im kinda losing steam but fadelstyle truly made my brain itch this episode . i feel like i understand style way better bc i too want to chase fadel down and pin him in a corner and break him just to see what'll come out of him. i bet its real soft and real weird and might make me cry a little bit. i bet fadel would also cry. i bet he might need to real bad.

Ok Imma keep this a bit short but this is intriguing

Wukong... He was a bit out of the ordinary

After the Azure Lion incident, his memories seem to have been cracked a bit and seeped out of his mind.

So everyone has been patient with him. He's been latching onto Sandy and Tang the most out of the group, which helped with tang researching on how to get his memories back.

You were very much worried, you visited every day, with the excuse of dropping off food for Tang.

Over the days, Wukong has grown to you. You stricked up conversation now and then, probing a bit so glean what he did remember.

But again, he didn't fully trust you yet.

So one day he used his true sight and saw that little soul in your body growing

"oh, congratulations!" He started aloud. You looked at him with a furrowed brow

"For what?" You questioned.

"To you and your husband! I'm sure you're excited to have a little one on the way"

You froze, and looked down at your belly. Tears pricked your eyes and you excused yourself out.

Wukong didn't see you the coming days, the days when finally Tang got the solution to get the Monkey Kings memories back.

As Tang strrred the exile, Wukong sat on the counter kicking his feet.

"Hey, where's the pretty lady? She hasn't been here the past couple of days." Wukong asked. Tang stilled, and looked to Wukong with a sad smile.

"She isn't having a good time right now. Her husband is... Away and she isn't sure when he's coming back. I think it's gonna be soon though." He replied, and continued

Wukong pouted but stayed silent. The woman was very pretty and nice, who would have abandoned her when shes with a child???

Then Wukong finally drank the elixir. And Tang waited as the Monkeys King gained his memories back.

ok so im the same guy that mentioned the soren and lukas parallels so im gonna copy-paste my ramble from discord

first off using my headcanons for the characters im mentioning:

lukas [he/they/she]

soren [he/she]

anyway:

first off: his parallel with soren. lukas is a complete and utter coward at first, similar to soren. she usually freezes in place instead of running away, but especially when you confront lukas about his friend nearly setting reuben on fire, he deflects the blame and says that reuben seems just fine. sure, when you bring lukas with you one the wither storm is unleashed they're a little too eager to step up and lead, which COULD be seen as an act of bravery, but i see it more as lukas behaving in a way that's familiar to them. she could be a bit frustrated when anyone else is trying to lead, and literally tries to tell you and axel, the people that her friend group has been bullying for probably a WHILE now, that you axel is going way outta line when literally confronting him rightfully for this behavior. sure, the argument got a bit too heated and lukas nearly left, but lukas was really the one out of line when trying to lead a group that didnt want, nor need his lead. lukas isnt just a parallel to soren because of his building skills: its because of her, at first, cowardly nature, and their unwillingness to take the blame for anything that he's caused or at least been apart of. where this gets even more interesting is lukas' character arc, where he begins to actually get braver. she offers to genuinely help out more, instead of having this utter desperation to be apart of something familiar, like a friend group. when everyone gets into the end, they offer to lead the group to safety instead of petra, seeing as they're very sickly. while yes, he seems a Little bit desperate to do so, this more seems to be for petra's safety rather than a personal gain, like getting jesse's trust. when the wither storm dies the first time, lukas is actively wanting to go out and find her friends, and literally RETURNS with them if jesse lets her leave, helping save jesse and gang in the process. lukas' story arc is about a coward turning to bravery and selflessness, which is a direct opposite to how soren's story plays out. and i just think that's neat.

i think she's just neat. ok. the fact that she starts out as an enemy of jesse's gang and slowly becomes part of the group. while soren starts out as part of the order but distances herself and just becomes unrespectable by the others [except ivor] after running away in fear from the second wither storm fight. soren actively makes himself the victim of the situation after spending so long in isolation, a situation that HE caused, mind you. lukas, similarly, sees that he has no fault in anything at first. he's an incredibly awkward insecure loser once you get to know him, but that part is so incredibly surprising because you're immediately trained to think that lukas is an arrogant piece of shit with no interest in actually being friendly towards you. soren is ALSO an incredibly awkward insecure loser off the get-go, though can also be arrogant and comes off as a bit of a know-it-all, again refusing to take blame for anything that happens, ESPECIALLY when the formidi-bomb fails. granted soren has probably had several years alone to reflect on something like this, and especially considering he's been ALONE and soren's general personality, that could absolutely form some sort of bias towards herself. lukas was just surrounded by shitty people in a shitty situation, and once taken out of that environment, becomes a much kinder, albeit awkward person after a while. anyway all im saying is that soren and lukas have a lot in common more than just being the builders of their group because that is an INCREDIBLY shallow interpretation of their parallels with each other. i wish soren and lukas interacted with one another so we could see how they reflected on the other's attitude and behavior but its whateverrrrrrr i can imagine sick and twisted scenarios in my mind ok. lukas would see a lot of herself in soren and i think that would unnerve him just a bit, maybe cause a bit more self-reflection. maybe getting to know soren is what helps lukas dig deeper into themself and go "oh im kind of an asshole. this guy is kind of an asshole. i dont wanna be like this guy, i dont wanna hurt the people i care about" and etc etc. im just a little bit crazy. but also maybe its for the best this never happened because people would interpret them as a father-son relationship :////////////////

regardless im getting mad about fictional things. thank god im cool because i can do what i want and nobody can stop me! anyways soren couldve been a very useful plot device for lukas' own self-reflection especially after lukas leads everyone to safety and that only FURTHERS lukas' realization and change in attitude and switch from selfish to selfless. i keep repeating myself but i do genuinely think this is so underthought about. i havent talked about lukas in a bit forgive me but i have been cooking up sick and twisted thoughts in the back of my brain for a while. this hit me out of nowhere its a VERY half-baked analysis but i wanted to share this with you all because i feel like you guys would actually understand

tldr: lukas ends up surrounded by people she loves and cares for, and they love and care for him as well because he learned from their mistakes and made amends. soren ends up alone because of his own faults and refuses to reflect on herself, which lukas was dangerously close to being exactly like

ok even tho im in the middle of magp 9 i stopped my epic rave on the internet to also post this tangential digression that i barfed out by accident so that my mind appears to express itself at least somewhat chronologically and so that my posts are oriented vaguely in the order of a normal thought process:

As i listen to magp 7 my newly conspiracy-theorist brain is actively and incessantly trying to find parallels between tma and tmagp (is the mysterious security guy like breekon and hope? is the oxford's people's trust akin to the people's church of the divine host, and that is why it burned down? does the press of a sea of laughing volunteers have to do with the buried, and/or their end with the slaughter?) and it took me like five full minutes to realize that i was being silly and should stop trying to identify exact similarities for a number of reasons: they wouldn't do that because it might be rather cheap and boring; people coming from Magnus would have an upper hand and be able to infer things from prior knowledge; this is an entirely new premise and story simply set in the same universe; and the simple fact that fear — broad a category as it is, as exemplified in the first two hundred episodes of the magnusverse — is the centerpoint of horror. of course there will be parallels!! if only coincidentally!!! lmao what am i thinking

anyway i started writing this because i wanted to appreciate/highlight the writers' efforts in making the stories so conceptually new in content, despite the constant temptation (at least, i feel it, secondhandedly) to adhere to the rules (categories of fear) already in existence, meticulously built up to craft horror tales specifically set in this universe already... it would be easy. but protocol is, in essence, a different series, and deserves the same amount of love and freshness and work put into it. i should stop guessing at what to expect, because i shouldn't pretend i know any more than i did when starting magnus lol

She’s held prisoner in the covens hideout but she make an uno reverse on them because she’s has the ability to create and control fire she’s had this ability all her life but kept it. A secret from everyone is hard to control for her and her ability is triggered by emotion. She sorta let the coven take her so she could flambéed them and help her mates in the process even thoguht she’s human and was terrified there was no way she was going to let them use her to take down her lovers.😤 so the place was held prisoner explodes and when the volturi get there the captures are on fire and running for their live only to be finished off by pissed off volturi kings.

Needless to say they are shook when they see the place in flames and her just walking out blue like flame surroingg her like halo and your hung the assholes who tried it. Her mates : reactions:👁️👄👁️

So the kidnappers are taken care of (killed and finished off since they where already burning)

After they all go back home she has some explaining to do. She’s explains how she always had this ability but was scared of telling them because it’s hard for her to control and it sorta drains her energy which is why she sorta fainted afte setting everything on fire but she did it for them and because she was pissed off. She also didn’t know if she would hurt them but she found out that her powers are also controlled by her Will so if she want to harm her powers would do that of not they don’t. She shows them this by by touching them with her hands having flames but it’s not hurting them which makes her happy because she thought that would be impossible for her to have physical contact with them( hug ,kiss etc) turns out she can do that without worrying.

Hugs and kisses they are just happy she’s safe and proud of her 😊 relieved that their mate is ok but not gonna lie they where so scared of losing her 🥹 some ptsd might have happened poor Marcus would have been sweating if he was human . Shook all of them where after these events.

Lots of reference photos, trace over them to get a better feel for how to draw them too

(Old art ew but I remember having a lot of trouble replicating poses at the time so I would trace each limb and break them down into simpler shapes, and it did help lessen the struggle a bit)

Draw models, whether from photos or in person. I like using websites that generate random photos of models for my warm-ups sometimes. Also in a life drawing class with a bunch of live models, so that also helps a lot

Do whatever anatomy studies studies you think would help, hand studies, facial studies, im personally overdue for some side profile studies. Studying skeletal and muscle structure also helped a lot

Watching anatomy tip related videos on youtube is also basically what raised me. Nothing really long, just whatever short videos could go over stuff like tips for drawing foreshortening, how to draw different body types, how to draw expressions, etc etc. If theres any aspect of anatomy that stumps you on how to draw it, there is most likely some videos floating around thats probably made for that

I can’t emphasize this enough, theres gonna be a lot of drawings you make that you don’t like from practicing and thats ok! Improvement is a really gradual process most of the time, its like watching a plant grow from a seed to a flower. You don’t actually see the plant growing in real time, but its growing trust. I don’t really notice my art making any dramatic changes most of the time, the difference only become super clear if I compare my stuff from now to 1-2 years ago.

But on that note, try your best not to be too self deprecating about your art. Find things to be proud of if possible! You might be your own worst critic a lot and thats fine and kinda unavoidable but don’t be shy to remind yourself of any improvements you’ve been able to notice, even if its really small or from a while ago
