Like the nurses are even talking about how kids their age don't take their sexual health seriously and they're silently praising TharnType for getting tested because it rarely happens.

Sembene's death was so fucking stupid
it was stupid and it was pointless, it just didn't make any fucking sense and it did nothing. like, what was the point? like seriously. it was so stupid because he was a really big character, he kept everyone grounded and was the most level-headed of the bunch. he was really needed there to have a good balance among characters that the viewer could enjoy. they could have done so much with him, but no, they said "let's kill him for entertainment purposes only. for funsies. lolz."
oh. and don't get me started with angelique, this poor girl really was added to the plot for no reason, she really was put in there as a disposable character. she was amazing, and they did nothing with her. she was only there to show how "edgy" and out of the box dorian is "oooh so daring of him, he must be in love." yeah right.
with her in or out of the plot, the story would have developed just the same, so to the writers (which at this point don't care) WHAT WAS THE FUCKING POINT?
anyway! i have one more season to go.

that post is also true about pride events. i think that if a company wants to march in a pride parade they must pay every single queer person a stipend. as a bare minimum requirement. and never, ever promote cops in any form.
the stonewall riots were at least 5 days of rioting from shitty cops. and where are we now? we have even subjectively worse cops (nobody died at stonewall, but if it happened today, do you think that'd be the case?) that defend corporations and corporate interests.
the people who are keeping minorities down do not deserve the right to even step foot around pride. they have turned us into branding and marketing and sell our culture back to us. and it really, really pisses me off.

some people are so funny like “this disqualification means nothing, he's still the winner” honey, it means Everything. you can choose what you believe in but to say it with your whole chest that the underweight car didn't help him in anyway throughout the race is just being ignorant. penalties are penalties, rules are rules. that's how this sport goes. we accepted it with other drivers before, accept it now. there's only one truth here, lewis hamilton won spa.
also stop taking it out on lewis who has the right to celebrate because he's the legal winner. of course he was not excited before because he felt like this was his race and the team failed him, but that didn't mean he had ill-wishes towards your driver. take it out on mercedes who messed up the car's weight (don't even say it's sabotage because THEY TRIED TO COVER IT UP) which consequently fucked up this mercedes 1-2

thinking about how star trek fans can be so hypocritical. barclay was a very anxious socially inept guy with less than desirable coping mechanisms that were frankly creepy. he outgrew them but creepy guy is still his legacy. pulaski had bigoted feelings against data because she was wary and didn't understand him. she ended up accepting him and treating him like any sentient being but her legacy is still that old bitch who's racist against data. but when garak almost succeeds in committing a genocide, his legacy is gay uwu babygirl. make it make sense

guys i've decided that i'm gonna be the one to translate the canon dusttale fics. it's a responsibility that has long been overdue and as the mtt's strongest warrior i will be the one to take up this responsibility. since i need to read the dusttale fics to see what his REAL CANON personality is like so i can finish my horror character analysis i decided to just translate the fic myself anyways. i dont know a lick of korean but i'm sure some research and context clues can fix any errors that pop up and i think i'm well versed in dustlore enough to fill in any gaps from translating

This little bit of the Iliad is so interesting like. Briseis mourning her own situation and describing her attachment to Patroclus for trying to ‘better’ her situation in attempting to give her the security of a marriage. Like it's horrible that being married to your family’s killer is the 'best' possible option (and likely that her feelings towards one of her captors would be much, MUCH more complicated than depicted), but also believable as being a relief to someone in her position in this uber-patriarchal cultural context where this sort of thing is a fact of life.
And describing these other unnamed women (who are also captured in war and enslaved as wives/sexual partners for the men who have sacked their cities and killed their husbands/fathers/brothers/etc) going about the display of mourning for Patroclus and using it as a way to vent their grief about their situations. The POV fully understands that their grief isn't really about this Greek guy who's been sacking their cities being dead.
Like most of the Iliad doesn’t really concern itself with the women that the story revolves around (and is of course completely and utterly of its time and context) but these very humanizing moments show an awareness of these people as full human beings who Do Not Like Their Situations (even as it effusively honors the people who have enslaved them). It’s small in the grand scheme of things but very compelling and frankly a lot more nuanced than a lot of Feminist Greek Mythology Retellings tend to be without even trying.

it's ok to be like "ugh why would they do that?" to a character in anything, trust and believe I do it too (TO MYSELF). but the point is to show human emotion, human actions (PEOPLE FUCK UP AND FUCK UP BAD). you only think "Ugh why" bc you're not in the moment. if that were you, what you truly do??? who knows!
but what I won't do is water down a character just for your enjoyment. I will not make a character more easily digestible just for you! roll with it or click off!
mirage is messy, we knew that from the beginning. humans are naturally going to mess up (especially when stressed)!!! and that's what I'm heavily leaning into, that's what makes it interesting. it shows that a lot of people, with the hate I've been receiving, put themselves on a very high pedestal where they think they never fuck up. please get off your high horse and realize "hey this is human. this is real" and fuck off <3

Honestly I really want to be able to side with Solas in dreadwolf. I think it'd be super interesting to play as an elf in Tevinter and be able to just go "yeah actually I think Fen'Harel is right let's tear down that veil." I mean I assume the main conflict will be Solas trying to convince your character to join him, or your character being told they have to try and stop him, and there are not enough games that let you side with the presented "villain" character. I want to see what the world is like with no veil I'm so interested. Also so interested to see what full-on Fen'Harel Solas is like. Is he still as empathetic? Or is he more conniving and distanced from "mortals" like the old stories would have us believe?

To the non star rail followers, my feelings on the fandom's treatment of Sunday and Robin are like when Adam stans try and take Blake/Sienna Khan's characterization and ideals and claim Adam had those things the entire time

Hazbin fans will be like "my taste in men is so QUIRKY! I think Meanus Peanus is hot..." and then they will show you "Meanus Peanus" and he will literally be the most sexyman bait character you have ever laid eyes upon
