My sort of maybe embarrassing “late to the game” thing I’m learning now is how to tell if oil has gone bad.

I feel like most other foods have obvious visual tells like mold or they end up smelling foul and obviously bad. But I was googling about oil and the internet says “if it smells like crayons, it’s bad” which would not have been my first guess. And I tested it out on my somewhat old sesame oil and was like “by god, I would describe this as smelling like crayons”

Anyway protip if your old oil smells kinda like crayons it’s probably no good 🖍️

I’m editing a chapter of Pennyworth where Alfred teaches Richard how to make doughnuts and I realized it’s been seven years since I last had a doughnut and made myself sad then decided: fuck that and made myself gluten free doughnuts.

Several more attempts may be needed to get it right—or as right as I can with my dietary limitations. But for now I have doughnut-shaped cake and that’s good enough.

Was chatting on discord with a friend whilst making ten billion jars of chili oil (tldr, its for community event that im participating in), and like-- somehow the conversation went to tapeworms which then reminded me of this--

And GOD i can just see gojo pulling some shit with nanami like--

Yuuji, still new to jujutsu and will believe anything: oh my gosh-- gojo-sensei, nanami-san, does that mean!

Banana brownie cake

Ingredients:

6 ripe bananas

240 grams of almond or peanut butter (1 cup)

1 table spoon of coconut oil

3 drops of vanilla extract

160 grams of cocoa powder (2/3 cup)

chocolate chips and/or thinly sliced almonds as sprinkles

1. heat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius/400 F

2. mix it all together in a bowl, first with a spoon to smoosh the bananas, then use a mixer for 2 minutes to get a nice, even consistency

3. put a baking sheet on a baking pan, pour the mix in

4. sprinkle chocolate chips and/or thinly sliced almonds on top before popping it in the oven for 25 minutes on 180 C or 350 F

5. wait for it to cool
