blade fits the part of dante being thrown in prison for almost a decade and still being vengeful, but it's more yandere-y. jingyuan fits the part of dante acting as the mysterious sponsor/person behind the scenes with a shitton of money, especially that part where i think dante's actions ends up driving someone to suicide (it's been like 2-3 years since i've read it, so my memory is a little fuzzy). sampo probably fits the best overall - doing stuff behind the scenes, making a bunch of fake aliases and identities, inviting people to do drugs in his hidden castle, all of that, i can see sampo doing.

anyways do you have any other books? i highly recommend the eighth life by nino harastischwili, it's my Favourite of All Time it's so good

Hey Hannah, how would you describe Lily and Ruby’s relationship with James? We know the girls are close but are they close with James or is more of a lone wolf? If you want to write a one shot of this… I wouldn’t mind at all 😉

first of all, i love you for asking me this. second of all, i think like with most sibling relationships it evolves. Lily definitely considers herself james' protector for a time until he grows up enough and starts annoying her. i think once they reach late teens and adulthood though, all three of them are pretty tight knit. having harry potter and ginny weasley as your parents isn't a universal experience so it'd be hard to find other people who could relate to something like that and understand it.

so, more than being siblings, they have unique and shared history they bond over and support each other through <3

and since i am literally incapable of saying no to a next gen oneshot, here ya go:

"It's just so unfair!"

Ruby snorted at the whinge in Lily's voice and reached for another spoonful of batter.

"Look at this," Lily grabbed for where Dad sat on the sofa. Placing her hands on either side of his head, she wheeled him around to face the kitchen. "This is what I have to work with!"

Dad shrugged her off with a grimace.

"Hey!" Mum grinned as she pulled a tray of fully baked biscuits from the oven. "I like your dad's hair."

"Me too," Ruby chastised.

Lily's answering scowl was full of impatience. "Easy for you to say! Your hair lies flat!"

Unable to disagree, Ruby finished placing her dough on the sheet and handed it over to Mum.

"It grows in every direction," Lily turned her attention back to the top of Dad's head, pulling his locks side to side and back and forth. Dad staunchly ignored her, continuing to read the paper as if she wasn't even there. "And this bit here, what's the point of it growing upwards on the back?"

Brushing the dough from her hands, Ruby let out a resigned sigh. "Will you stop complaining and come here?"

Lily rolled her eyes, but crossed the room and collapsed into a dining chair anyway. Ruby set to work separating her sister's hair into two sections, and she had to admit it was rather chaotic, especially when left on its own for too long. She didn't dare say this aloud, however, for fear of increasing Lily's already jittery mood.

"Make it tight," Lily instructed as Ruby began to plait. "I don't want it falling out halfway through the night."

Ruby hid her smile behind Lily's back and started all over again.

The smell of fresh out of the oven dessert soon lured James into the kitchen and he took three biscuits off the tray before sitting down at the table. Mum ruffled his hair, so similar to Dad's and Lily's, as she began clearing away the mixing bowl and baking mess.

"Hey, Dad?" Lily asked once Ruby had finished tying off the first braid and began on the second. "Can you take down the wards before they arrive?"

Dad looked up from his paper incredulously.

"Please?" Lily begged in a sing-song voice.

"Absolutely not." Shaking his head, Dad turned back to his Evening Prophet.

"But you have to!" Lily implored. "Otherwise it'll look to them like I'm standing in front of an empty field!"

"Tell them the house is behind the trees," Ruby suggested.

"Or that we live in a commune that doesn't believe in houses," Mum added unhelpfully.

"Or," James chimed in, "Don't go on dates with Muggles in the first place."

The room went deathly quiet, Ruby's fingers stilling in Lily's hair while Mum froze with dish soap and a scrub brush in her hands.

Dad turned slowly in his seat, looking over the four of them in turn and focusing on James last.

"What did you just say?"

James, who seemed to know he'd just blundered horribly, stammered, "I- I- I mean... I was just... What do I know?"

He chuckled uncomfortably, but Ruby could tell Dad didn’t buy it.

Turning to Mum, Dad raised his eyebrows. “She’s going on a date? You said it was a group of kids from the village.”

"It is a group of kids from the village," Mum reassured quickly, but she didn't quite meet Dad's eye. She set the sponge to work with a tap of her wand and finished, "She just so happens to like one of those kids."

"MUM!" Lily roared, her face flushing pink in embarrassment.

James covered his mouth to hold in his laugh; Lily reached around to swat him.

"Hold still!" Ruby ordered, almost losing her grip on Lily's hair.

Dad continued to stare at Mum like he'd just been stupified.

"Oh, don't look at me like that," Mum huffed impatiently. "What did you expect?"

"I didn't expect to find out our daughter was going on a date from a nine year old! You're supposed to tell me this kind of stuff."

"It's not a date!" Lily cried, clearly mortified.

"She's fifteen," Mum replied matter-of-factly. "She likes a boy, so what? Should we tell them what we got up to when we were fifteen?"

Ruby, her sister, and her brother all let loose sounds of utter disgust.

"Not like that." Mum waved them off. Dad didn't seem all that cowed by her threat to reveal their teenage years, but eventually he grumbled something that sounded like a swear word and turned to Lily with a serious look on his face.

"You're home by ten," he snapped. Lily breathed out a sigh of relief that was a bit premature, because then Dad added, "And no snogging!"

Ruby and James gagged out more revulsion, while Lily buried her face in her hands and groaned.

how often do you read non-oi manhwas? shadowless night and blinded by the setting sun (i know i recommended this before but i love it it's so good the ml and fl makes me feel things and the actual character development and worldbuilding makes me go hrrgrgggggh) have to be some of my favourites outside of traditional reincarnation oi. fl of shadowless night reminds me of stelle in the 'deadly trash panda' way, her head may be empty but her hands sure are filled with knives (and food). ml also got that jing yuan vibes

luocha honestly gives off saint/cardinal/priest vibes. that clothing and his coffin, fits right in tbh. caelus ig could be at the xianzhou empire, who also lost his memories and is looking for his sister, lumine/aether style? he could be friends with sushang and helps out the cloud-knights quite a bit whilst also just wandering around doing odd jobs here and there. kinda unsure he's hard to place\

I will read blinded by the setting sun asap!! I have seen it around before and it's so pretty I love it I don't read a whole lot of non-oi/reincarnation manhwa mainly bc they're either usually hard to find or translated in such a way that is difficult to understand hdjsjhfnjd ;w; but I have read some! I rather enjoy the more typical medieval-style world ones with magic and stuff, and the lead finding their way on their own merit, like the remarried empress. navier obv isn't reincarnated or isekai'd, she's just a badass!!

I love the saint/cardinal idea, I counter with this: he's from the Destiny religion in Stellaron, but he went to the Xianzhou Empire to "spread the word" (but really, he's there for his own means, perhaps something to do w/ that coffin in canon if more info about him comes out soon). this is because in the quests he's in, luocha mentions that "luocha" is just the name he goes by on the xianzhou, not his actual name! I did want to throw in sushang as well tho so I'll see what happens!! (=♡ ᆺ ♡=)

honeydew and the terrible, horrible, no good, very bad situationship

Honeydew is having a rough time as of late.

Xephos, his best friend, seems more and more distant with each passing day. He’s driven, even more so than usual, if that was even possible.

Even still, Xephos tries to include Honeydew in his work. Every few days he rounds him up to show him around and demonstrate his newest project, or go play an adventure map or puzzles he made for the two of them.

And sometimes when he’s doing these things, Honeydew does see that glimpse of passion. He does see that spark. Maybe even a genuine smile.

But most of the time the dwarf just notices the dark rings under his eyes and pounds that seem to be just shedding off the man at an impossible rate.

Whenever Honeydew tries to bring up his concerns, albeit in his roundabout jokey way, Xephos brushes him off.

“Don’t worry about me, friend,” he says with a smile. “As long as you’re alright, I’m happy.”

Honeydew isn’t sure his happiness is enough to help.

He visits Lalnable, despite Xephos’ warnings. He’ll bring him tea and sweets and other things the man isn’t really supposed to have.

Although Lalnable is certainly a bit… unhinged, so to speak, he doesn’t seem too dangerous. Yes, he does tend to say things that a sane person most definitely wouldn’t, and there are of course those testifcate incidents Honeydew hears about every so often, but he’s still funny and has the same odd charm that Lalna outside the lab does.

When they talk, Honeydew knows Lalnable knows things that he doesn’t. He’ll say things as if the dwarf is meant to understand, and when Honeydew probes for an explanation, he just waves him off in the same frustrated fashion Xephos does sometimes.

He wonders if Lalnable is what is stressing Xephos out. That would explain why he seems to get so upset whenever Honeydew asks about him. A lunatic constantly escaping and killing employees at your laboratory would be stressful to anyone, especially someone as predisposed to anxiety as Xephos is.

When he mentions this to Lalnable, the deranged man just laughs. He laughs, and laughs, until it almost seems like he’s crying, instead.

One night, on his way to bring a sleepy-time tea to Lalnable, from the one-sided glass viewing platform he sees Xephos in the cell with him. The two are sitting together, playing chess. Despite Xephos’ previously expressed vehement hatred for the man, as Honeydew watches them together, he realizes this is the most relaxed Xephos has looked in ages.

He leaves the tea by the food slot and silently returns to his room.
