#chronic blogging #shit chat #well at this point both of my parents (who i inherited my Just Tough It Out streak from) have #upon hearing how bad my post-hysterectomy pain has been #told me 'umm no you need to go see someone.' and 'please just go to urgent care i will pay for it if your insurance won't.' respectively #haunted by the ghost of my right ovary (sharp stabbing pains & debilitating muscle spasms around the incision site)#it's been 1.5 years since surgery and it's getting worse not better #at my 1mo post op i was like 'hey right side hurts a lot worse & the incision seems really wonky & off-center. thoughts?'#they said it was nothing to worry about give it time i might still be feeling pain up to 6mo post op #sooo 8mo post op contact surgeon again 'hey remember that thing i mentioned? yeah still hurts bad enough i struggle to walk sometimes'#she says eeehhh maybe you developed pelvic floor dysfunction or always had it and surgery made it worse. read this book & do some stretches #book stretches & muscle relaxers helped for a bit so i just carried on but it was not improving in fact becoming more persistent #lil over a year post op contact surgeon like 'HEY do not ignore me i am in an amount of pain that is NOT NORMAL and you WILL see me'#drive 1+ hrs for her to poke at me for ~10 minutes ignore most of what i was saying and determine it's just muscle spasms do more stretches #said physical therapy MIGHT help if i did it 2x monthly for at least 6mo. which would've involved commuting over an hour during the workweek #no THANK you i'll just keep doing my stupid stretches. and the thing is.#the stretches ARE helping. i feel my overall balance/flexibility/stamina improving #but that by contrast is making the STABBING PAINS WHERE MY RIGHT OVARY USED TO BE all the more obvious #'oh it's just muscle spasms' well why the FUCK are my muscles spasming around THIS SPOT EXCLUSIVELY for SEVENTEEN MONTHS STRAIGHT #i have essentially no pain on my left side at all. i feel overall just fine & dandy but i am convinced there is something #like. very seriously wrong on the right side causing this #and yeah if my surgeon won't listen to me maybe i will check myself into urgent care and demand an ultrasound #(which btw i asked for during my last visit & she told me it was unnecessary & to fuck off)#but now the two people who instilled me with a very deep mistrust for the medical industry #and from who i learned from via a lifetime of observation how to dissociate from chronic pain in order to function #are telling me 'yeah no this is bad you need a DOCTOR.' umm. i probably need a doctor.#was talking w/ E last night about degrees of pain & like. avg day is like 4-6 on a 0-10 scale. good days 2-3.#i don't consider calling out from work unless it's like an 8 or higher cause i'm just so used to it.#i'm sick of it. so fucking bored with being in constant pain. i want my life & energy back. i want a personality beyond Oh Just Tired back.#i wanna be able to enjoy touch again with immediately hitting overstimulation threshold due to pain.

okay I did it! I fucking did it! I have finally seen EVERY PUPPET MASTER MOVIE ever made and also no one should ever do that actually but I'm not on this hell site to make good decisions okay

#puppet master #i have the weirdest god damn relationship with these movies they have just kinda haunted me since scifi channel in the 90s #so this was An Adventure #still kind of annoyed they wasted 'puppet master: the littlest reich' on a movie NOT about wrecking nazis again #because that is like objectively the funniest b-movie title i've ever heard #oh well at least that timeline will never be revisited ever #and i actually enjoyed blade: the iron cross despite the trainwreck budget #because a) it wasn't the littlest reich and b) it knew exactly the kind of stupid it wanted to be and was completely unapologetic about it #which is kinda my feels on the PM axis movies as a whole except for the bit part human japanese villains #who are excessively uncomfortable to watch and make zero sense for so many reasons #everyone talks about the kamikaze puppet being bad and yes he is but he was also made in a nazi lab and exists for like 5 minutes #so at least his badness like blends in with the rest of the dumb movie #those human chars tho wtf was anyone thinking #oh well though #go to sleep ed

Recently saw the 2023 Haunted Mansion movie (pretty good, some minor issues but definitely nowhere near as bad as some feared) and now my brain won't stop considering something involving Victor and Alice and/or Smiler being in the Haunted Mansion.

Current ideas include: Incorporating it into Broken Sky, vacation story where they tour the Mansion and get trapped for a couple nights, Corpse Bride redo where Victor instead gets dragged to the Mansion instead of Downstairs by Emily and meeting other ghosts including Alice, Bumby, and Smiler, Alice finds out she's inherited the Mansion which sits near Burtonsville and tries to tame the spirits with outcast, "i see dead people" Victor and helpful haunt Smiler...

Are these ideas good? Idk. Would I write them? Maybe, though probably not right now. Are they interesting nonetheless? I hope so!

Oh no, you've turned into me. XD I don't know anything about the Haunted Mansion movie (I've never been to a Disney theme park, and thus have never been on the ride, and thus have no nostalgia prompting me to see it -- glad you enjoyed it, though!), but I DO know about watching something and suddenly having my brain Valice/Valicer it up. As you probably well know, reading my tumblr as you do. XD

*snork* I do like the idea of poor Victor and Alice of Broken Sky thinking they're going to have a nice day out at a Mansion, only to discover a) haunted as fuck and b) can't get out. (Alice is like "you know, we REALLY should have guessed this wasn't going to go well.") The "Corpse Bride but Haunted Mansion instead of Land of the Dead" idea is interesting too -- especially since one of the few things I DO know about the Haunted Mansion is at one point they had their own ghost bride named Emily, so it DOES rather fit! I wonder how Alice, Bumby, and Smiler died in that world. . . (Probably Alice and Bumby died killing each other?) I think my favorite of the trio so far though is "Alice inheriting the Mansion" -- like, it's after A:MR, she's now out a place to live since she killed her employer who was offering her room and board, when lo and behold she gets a letter saying she owns a house. . .only the house is haunted as fuck and now she finds herself having to figure out how to deal with the ghosts. Fortunate for her Victor lives nearby and has some experience with this kind of thing. . .and that one of the ghosts is such a shockingly friendly sort, even if she does wonder sometimes about the glowing yellow eyes. . . They are interesting ideas indeed, and I'm glad you shared! :D

though i eventually got to read some, in earlier years goosebumps books would be the kind of series where i'd just ponder the cover art, and i always liked the drama of the monster blood illustration (the lighting/colors....sure nothing's happening in it but i felt it evoked the drama of "what if you're downstairs and something's upstairs" much like "what if you're upstairs and something's downstairs") like well too bad i guess i never got around to reading i at the time. but as of a recap yesterday i'm surprised to now be at least 90% sure i read part if not all of it, and thinking i hadn't may be due to how kind of nothing happens in it

#absolutely nothing familiar until ''there's a dog named trigger & the kid at one point has to rescue trigger from choking'' like Aha #for sure still remember various Events & Details from gb books i Know i've read....#welcome to dead house; the ghost next door maybe my most well absorbed ones lol. lot going on in those definitely #let's get invisible. some choose your own adventure varieties. calling all creeps. oh the haunted mask ofc; all time classic....#definitely hadn't read the phantom of the auditorium; reading it as an adult was a delight #things on the other side or the middle of the stairs it's just like skinamarink heck for real #itself like well that's absolutely the horror of being kids if not ''kids' horror'' lol #but that aspect is always inherently present in kids' horror...always surrounded by mysteries & lack of power/autonomy & fairly isolated...#anyways had a parent whose Disapproval Mode could be set off by various media available to kids my age so that was a minefield #(same parent thought it was inappropriate for some tv 14 rated programs to be available in a house solely ft. adults so there you are)#at least at first was of the ''horror for children?? inappropriate'' approach about it. i didn't check the books out of libraries ever #but eventually must've calmed down abt that b/c we Did own some & that's how i read most of ones i did #too late i was always a kid intrigued by / seeking out horror materials....john bellairs books which got pretty wild....#much less so as an adult b/c horror gets worse (& not in any good way) aimed for teens / adults like lord. You Do Not Get It #anyways turns out monster blood is probably riffing off the blob mostly but it's like not thee blob until way later #so most of the book wouldn't really be that memorable if it's 80% ''and then here was another weird thing abt the gunk''#but i would remember like oh no the dog is in mortal peril :( nooo trigger (trigger was fine)#sure didn't misremember that in welcome to dead house the dog went missing & was implicitly killed over Sensing The Deadness #appreciated that element in phantom of the auditorium where they're hanging out at zeke's & he has a dog #& secret but really just chilling painting sets & very corporeal ghost brian is like ''aw cmon...'' at that dog Not Liking Him #which is some barking & not being enthused abt brian's efforts to play fetch w/a ball lmao #but only to a mild degree like yeah he's not doing anything. brooke & zeke witnessing this simply like lol lmao #that trio is sooo funny. ghost just hanging out; So nervous; ending up dragged into the friend duo absolute menaces hellions lmao....#the paint on his shirt bit. just the way the whole back & forth of 4 ppl goes; it kills Me....
