So you got the dissenter and the killing machine falling for you. Well, buckle up and be prepared for these to two are now trying to steal your attention... sort of.

No one doesn't realized that these two are trying to take your heart, maybe sanford and deimos, but they don't seem to care much, probably slighty tease.

2bdamned seems to act more of tsundere while Hank acts kinda yandere but still tsundere like doc.

When both find out that they like the same person, they narrow their eyes at each other. Doc and Hank, maybe allies, but even that doesn't stop them from being rivals.

Doc is not much into affection, but they're willing to hug and hold your hand, unlike someone who they are clearly not giving them the side eye(definitely not hank cough cough).

Doc would, on purposely, send Hank to mission, so you can spend time with them instead of that physcopath. But Hank, of course, had tricked up his sleev- ok yeah he doesn't but he kills and speed runs during missions just so he can see you.

Hank likes to be near you when doc is around just to give the doc the jealousy or payback for taking his days off. Doc does the same thing.

Hank may take you on his mission, and doc gets upset, you might get injured, of course, but he is also jealous of you teaming with Hank(doc's mind "hank I swear to God if I find y/n limbs off or worse, I'm gonna cut off your di-).

But they do come to their senses and actually try to share(hank struggles do, because he's selfish). Hank takes time, so he's gonna have to warm up from the thought of sharing someone he likes to doc. The same goes for the doc, but the doc warms up pretty quick.

Now you have more security because if anyone's tries to harm you or even kill you, doc can track the idiot down, and Hank would just go and kill them.

They don't get jealous that much, but if that grunt gets a little touchy with you, Hank would be right behind you, intimidating the poor grunt while doc is out here giving them the bombastic side eye.

Dates are mostly missions(hank), docs office(doc, he likes it privately, ok), your or hank bedroom, and others you can think of dating(doc and hank). Both, however, they sometimes let you choose because, why not.

Spparing sessions are mostly for Hank and you, but Docs sometimes joins in, hey may or not say, "I love a kind a women that would actually just kill me" just to distract you and win. Hank looking at doc like " bruh".

Remember when I said both are tsundere? Well, well, let me explain, for doc he would sound annoyed and try to brush you off, but if you determine, he will give up and let you stay with him. For Hank, he just gives you that look and won't brush you off, just stay mad or annoyed when he's actually not, unless he isn't in a good mood.

Hank love language is gifting and quality time, he likes receiving gifts from you, likes it if it's a weapon or b l e n d e r. Quality time is also one because he needs someone to be patient for him when starting a relationship.

For doc, is love language is an act of service and quality time.

Doc likes it when you bring him coffee and help with paperwork and mission. He likes it because it tells them that you won't leave his side or here to relieve his stress from work. And quality time, is one because he needs someone patient that won't pressure him to work faster, he doesn't need that bullshit and he wants you to listen to him for things that are important to you, them and the S.Q.

So patience is important for this poly relationship, if your aren't patient, you can't love them, and they can't love you.

Adrian blinked at you, "You've never kissed anyone before?"

In that moment, you weren't sure whether you wanted to drop your head into your hands and cry, or whether you wanted to drop dead. Both of them were solid options, only one was more permanent.

"Please don't give me that look." You whined, shooting him a glare.

"What look? I'm not... I'm not giving you any look." He held his hands up in surrender.

"Yes, you are! God, you must think I'm so weird." You groaned out, throwing yourself down onto his couch.

Adrian just couldn't wrap his head around it. It wasn't like he thought you were strange or weird for it. He just couldn't understand how someone as beautiful as you hadn't been kissed by anyone yet. Sure, he was your best friend, so if he expressed that to you then you would probably shrug him off or tell him that he was being ridiculous. But to Adrian you were everything he had ever wanted, you just didn't seem to be interested in him. Or anyone, actually. In all the time he had known you, you had never expressed an interest in anyone.

"Look, I... I don't know. I just kinda kept to myself in high school, okay? I didn't go to any of the dances or go on dates because I just wasn't interested."

He was about to respond, but you cut him off with a sigh. "But I met this guy the other night, and he's cute. Super nice, too. And he asked me out but I'm just... I'm scared."

He sat down beside you, "Scared of what?"

You shrugged, glancing over at him, "Embarrassing myself. I mean, what if he kisses me and I just freeze up? Or if I do it wrong?"

He let out a laugh, "I don't think you have to worry about that."

"What do you mean?" You asked, your eyebrows raised.

"N-nothing... I just meant that if he kissed you and it went wrong, then... You wouldn't have to worry about anything. I'm not saying it'll go wrong. I mean, it might go great. It might be the best kiss ever. B-but you're like... really pretty. And funny. And..." He chewed on his bottom lip for a moment. "If he's willing to throw you away becasue of something so stupid, then he's not worth your time."

Adrian just stared at the ground as the two of you sat in silence for a minute, his jaw tense, replying every word he had just said to you over and over again in his head until he felt like ripping his hair out. Why would he even say any of that to you? He could have just told you that everything would be fine, that first kisses usually aren't a big deal, and that you'll get the hang of it. Yet he rambled on, as usual.

"Adrian, I have an idea. And you can say no if you don't want to."

He looked over at you then, not realising that you had been staring at him the whole time with flushed cheeks and hooded eyes.

"Yeah? What's up?"

"Kiss me?"

"Huh?" His face twisted in confusion.

"You can say no, if you want." You said quickly.

"N-No! I mean, yes. Wait. I'm not saying that I won't kiss you. I want to kiss you. I mean, I've wanted to kiss you for a while but I wasn't sure how you felt about that so I never did because I wouldn't wanna invade your space or force you into something you didn't wanna do and I know I should probably stop talking right now, so... Are you sure? I mean, me? Really?"

You furrowed your eyebrows. "Yeah, you. Why wouldn't it be you? I trust you the most, Adrian."

A pause. "Oh! Then, yes. I'll kiss you."

"Cool." You mumbled, a shy smile on your lips.

The next two minutes consisted of silence and neither of you making any attempts to move. Your eyes fleeted around the room nervously, whilst Adrian stared at the same spot on the ground.

"So..." You started. "How are we gonna do this?"

You felt cripplingly awkward just saying that. Was this how first kisses were supposed to go? Were you supposed to ask beforehand? Were you supposed to spend two minutes sat in complete, nervous silence regretting ever mentioning kisses or dates? Probably not. But you had asked him, and he had agreed to do it, so you were going to go through with it.

"Uh... Face me." You did as he said, turning your body to face him, and he did the same, until you were both staring into each other's eyes.

"Okay... And where do I put my hands?" You asked, chewing on your bottom lip nervously.

"You can... You can just put your hands wherever you want. Y-you don't have to put them anywhere, if you don't want to." His words came out faster than he had anticipated. It was only then, as he looked down at you, your teeth biting your lip gently, looking up at him with innocent, doe eyes that he realised the intensity of the situation. Fuck, had he wanted to do this for a long time.

You tried putting your hands on his shoulders. Then on his face. Then you tried wrapping your arms around his neck. Until eventually your hands ended up back in your lap. You gave him a sheepish smile, breathing out a laugh, "Sorry. I just had to... try a few things out."

"No, don't apologise." He offered you a small smile. "Okay, I'm... I'm gonna kiss you now, is that alright?"

You nodded. He leaned in. Your lips met.

It should have been awkward, incredibly so. The whole thing was planned from start to finish. You asked him to be your first kiss, just as practise. So you could say that you had at least some experience. But when his lips pressed against yours, you felt anything but awkward.

It felt natural. Like it should have happened a long time ago.

Adrian was gentle with you, one of his hands cradling your cheek as he guided you through it. You wanted more, though. And soon enough you found yourself on his lap, your hands running through his hair, his teeth nipping at your bottom lip gently.

When you finally pulled away, both of you were flustered. Your heavy breathing sliced through the silence of the room. "I... Fuck. I think I need to cancel my date."

His face twisted in confusion, "Huh? Why?"

You shot him a look, eyebrows furrowed. You couldn't help but laugh to yourself, though. You were sat on his lap, cheeks flushed, hot and heavy after having just had your first kiss (well, kisses) with Adrian, and he was confused as to why you were cancelling your date.

He could truly be so clueless.

sophie: 23, very tiny, like 5′1″. seems like she has her shit together, is actually a hot mess. she would consider herself a responsible rule follower, and she is extremely incorrect about this. she accidentally discovers an alien in the high-security area at her work and immediately decides to bust him out because she is at heart a well-intentioned impulsive dumbass. definitely the kid who found injured animals on the street and tried to nurse them back to health and adopt them, 10/10 i would go to bat for her in an instant

kit: 25, around 5′9″-ish, tech and mechanics whiz, working odd jobs to make rent on her shoebox center city apartment. expertly straddles the border of chaotic good and chaotic neutral. owns a medium-sized dog named jeff and thinks she's hilarious for naming him jeff. the polar opposite of sophie in that she looks like a hot mess but actually has her shit together. kinda lonely, lots of acquaintances but not a lot of real friends. severe red bull addiction. once ate a laffy taffy off the ground on a dare and would do it again

dev: 59, 6′4″ and chubby, big beard. basically a teddy bear come to life. works as a security guard at sophie's work and is her self-appointed Work Dad. he and his husband have two cats. dev is GOING to get involved in this sci-fi alien bullshit and he is NOT going to be happy about it, think bob belcher's "alright FINE but i'm gonna complain about it the entire time" except with aliens

andre: sophie's brother! 17, 6′0″, wants to be a journalist. self assured and confident, athletic, lots of friends, very protective of his older sister, but really gets thrown for a loop with the aliens thing and almost kills tsunei when he first sees him. oops?

maya: 65, retired cop, lesbian widow. very done with everyone's shit and will say so with very little prompting. accidentally acquires an alien roommate and is ten seconds away from throttling him at any given moment. it is not an exaggeration when i say that she is THE only reason quincy is still alive

AND NOW, THE ALIENS,

quincy: in his forties, 5′11″ and skinny for his species, lives amongst humans (one human, singular) for undisclosed reasons but has to stay indoors so he doesn't alert the general populace to the existence of his species. still tries to go out anyway. thinks wearing a beanie over his huge fin ears counts as stealth. (it doesn't.) getting a little stir crazy and a lot homesick. also, no, quincy is not his real name, it's the name he uses to hold an online tutoring job because he's gotta do SOMETHING with all his free time

tsunei: late twenties, 6′3″, big and kinda mean looking. he joined his people's military for extremely unconventional reasons (what reasons? don't worry about it. what are you, a cop?) and his scouting mission to the human's territory goes just... spectacularly, terribly wrong. which sort of sparks the whole plot. this dude has been through a lot and it's going to get so much worse before it gets better. i would very much like to wrap him in a blanket and give him soup, but instead i only give him pain

enya: goddamn terrifying woman. maybe in her fifties. who fuckin knows man. 6′7″ (women of this species tend to be taller than men), head of an organized crime ring, and has some fucked up telepathic abilities that she, like, barely even has to use to be scary. do not fuck with enya. just don't. she has a small daughter but only a select few even know this girl exists because god forbid people know she has a weakness am i RIGHT ladies

sayazad: my man. my main man. my guy. early thirties, 6′1″ and lean, distinctly unassuming and average looking for his species. sayazad just wants to keep running his (illegal) underground business in peace, but circumstances will not allow it. cannot fucking stand enya but he adores her daughter to pieces. his friends (and only his friends) can call him saya. he and maya would get along so goddamn well but ALAS they likely will never meet unless the plot turns in a way i’m not expecting, which like. happens

Please say more about aspirated medial stops, I was talking with my brother in law the other day about how we (Californians) don't say t's in the middle of words and I'm really curious about why that is and if this is a universal thing in all accents of English now

Disclaimer: I do have a Bachelor's in linguistics, but I got it more than a decade ago so it is possible that some of the information in this post will be misremembered or out of date.

tl;dr

Knowing how to pronounce t in different locations in different dialects is a nightmare. Old-fashioned British Received Pronunciation pronounced t in the middle of words, but there's a UK language drift called T-glottalization in which ts except at the start of words are often being replaced with glottal stops? It's really obvious in lower-status dialects but it's been creeping into RP as well.

American English usually does a weird muscle flex called a "flap" or a "tap" that's something like a really short d, or a single roll of a rolled r. I think there are some UK dialects that use this tap as well.

I belieeeeeve that Indian English usually pronounces word-medial ts, but I haven't run an actual analysis on the applicable coworkers' speech because that'd be kind of creepy?

No idea about Australia or New Zealand.

As far as I know, there's no special reason why these particular drifts are happening. Linguistic drift and accent shifts are just something that happens with living languages. If anything, we have immensely slowed the natural process of language change through the invention and widespread teaching of standardized writing.

Sorry, I tried doing this without a glossary but I kept having to do weird info cul-de-sacs to explain myself. I've ordered them according to approximately when they'll come up?

lol I failed so hard at this, about halfway through the post I started using words without putting them in the glossary first and man idk I've been working on this post for 4 hours now and I don't want to go back through and put definitions for some of this shit, sorry

Phoneme - A single language sound, as it is stored in your brain. Represented with slashes around it, e.g. /t/.

Phone - A language sound as it actually comes out of your mouth. Represented with square brackets around it, e.g. [t].

Phonology - The study of speech sounds, from internal representation to external expression, but not including the study of how they are physically created in the mouth (that's phonetics). Not to be confused with phrenology, the racist pseudoscience of head shape.

Word - Can have a few different meanings in a linguistic context. In this post, will usually refer to either a lexeme or a phonological word. You should be able to tell from the context.

Phonological Word - What you probably think of when you think of a "word." A unit of speech that you could naturally pause on either side of, but could not naturally pause inside.

Lexeme/Semantic Word - A single phonological word and its attached meaning; or, phrase of multiple phonological words, which holds a meaning which is different than the sum of its parts. For example, "Carry the bucket" is not a single lexeme; but "Kick the bucket" is.

Voiced/Voiceless - A sound is voiced if you use your vocal cords to make it, and voiceless if you don't.

Stop - Also called a plosive. A stop is a kind of consonant you make by stopping all air flow. The stops English uses are p, b, t, d, k, g, and the glottal stop.

Aspiration - A puff of air following a sound, usually a voiceless stop. In phonetic notation, it is indicated by a superscript h following the consonant, like [pʰ].

IPA - International Phonetic Alphabet. A standard set of symbols based on the Roman alphabet and used to refer to roughly the same sounds regardless of language.

Glottal stop - A stop which is performed not by your tongue, as in most stops, but by your vocal cords. Think of the word "Uh-oh" - the way you completely stop airflow after the "Uh" instead of just letting it flow into the "oh." That's a glottal stop.

Praat - An audio analysis program tailored specifically for viewing waveforms of speech sounds.

INFODUMP TIME

So the thing about saying words is that the ideas of sounds that you have in your head ("phonemes") don't translate one-to-one to the sounds that come out of your mouth ("phones"); and the ways that these sounds get modified vary between different dialects.

Please keep in mind that when you try to speak slowly or clearly, the sounds that you make change. Linguists are primarily interested in natural speech patterns, not what we do when we're trying to enunciate.

Tater-Tot

Let's take the lexeme tater-tot, because it's the first word I can think of that has all 3 of the major weird things that /t/ does that vary by dialect.

Let's start with the word-initial t. Phonologically there are actually two word-initial t's in tater-tot, the one at the beginning of 'tater,' and the one at the beginning of 'tot.' This is because "tater-tot" is two phonological words despite being one semantic word.

In American and British English, we aspirate our word-initial voiceless stops if they're immediately followed by a vowel, which means we pronounce /p/, /t/, and /k/ as [pʰ], [tʰ] and [kʰ] respectively if they're the first sound in a word (and immediately followed by a vowel). This means we add in a little puff of air following the consonant if it's the first sound in the word. In Indian English, they don't do this - a word-initial /t/ is pronounced [t], without the extra puff of air. To American & British English speakers it can almost sound like they're saying [d], because we're not used to hearing a word-initial /t/ without aspiration.

Next we've got a word-medial t, the second t of "tater." Here, Indian and British RP English speakers pronounce it as a plain [t], with no aspiration. American English speakers pronounce it as what's called a tap or a flap, which is sort of like a half-formed [d] but is actually more like a single roll of a rolled r - and so its IPA symbol is [ɾ]. And many less prestigious British dialects, including Cockney and I believe Scouse, replace it with a glottal stop, with IPA symbol [ʔ].

And our final t is the word-final t of tot. This is a tricky one to peel apart. English generally doesn't release word-final stops - that is, you put your tongue in the correct place to stop airflow to create the stop, but you never actually move your tongue out of the way to "release" the airflow you stopped. So the easy read on the word-final t's pronunciation is that it's [t̚], an unreleased t. However, in many dialects and situations /t/ is replaced with or co-articulated with a glottal stop - for example, after an [n] or an [m], /t/ is almost always pronounced as [ʔ] in English. But unreleased stops after an oral vowel are difficult to tell apart, and if the tongue is in t position while the glottis cuts off airflow - I genuinely don't know.

Tuck/Stuck

These are good for a comparison between an aspirated [tʰ] and an unaspirated [t]. In American English, tuck is [tʰʌk] and stuck is [stʌk].

Truck

American English does weird things with syllable-initial /tr/.

I want to introduce you to the "sh" symbol, ʃ. ʃ is a voiceless postalveolar fricative, which means it's created by air rushing through a narrow space when your tongue is behind the alveolar ridge. Incidentally, when you move your tongue from [t] position to [ɹ̠] position (ɹ̠ being the symbol for the version of non-rolled r that most English dialects use), it will naturally create the ʃ sound as it moves.

We have a special letter combination to the phonemic /tʃ/ in English. It's "ch". As in "change."

You almost certainly pronounce "truck" as [tʃɹ̠ʌk] "chruck" and just don't notice.

So what's going on with Martin?

So first off, Jonny is probably wrong about how the Archivist says "Martin." Complete deletion of the r in that position is standard in RP. I haven't fed The Magnus Archives into Praat or anything, so it's possible he's letting a hint of a rhotic accent bleed in to the Archivist's RP - but I really doubt it.

This isn't unusual! It's very common for people's internal concept of what sounds they mean to make, to get in the way of them accurately identifying what sounds they're actually making. No one thinks they've ever said "chruck" until you point it out to them.

I would probably transcribe the Archivist saying "Martin" as [mɑ:tɪn].

Jonny's attempt at saying "Martin" in an American accent was something more like [mɑ˞ɹ̠tʰɪn]. He did a good job of rhoticizing the vowel, but in his focus on the r completely messed up the second syllable.

I'd transcribe my own pronunciation of "Martin" as something like [mɑ˞ɹ̠ʔn]. It's been my observation that t-glottalization in American English is especially common when adjacent to nasals - and if there's one thing American English likes, it's syllabifying liquids in word-final syllables.

You and Peter were getting back from one of your night patrols, it was something that the two of you always did and it was part of your routine now, you loved fighting crime beside him, and he loved being able to fight by your side as well, the both of you made such a perfect team that even your dad, Tony Stark was proud.

"So… I was thinking" Peter takes off his mask giving you a look, you look at him waiting for him to keep talking "You know, how I always spend time on the avengers place? I was thinking that maybe you would like to… I don't know… Spend some time at my place? Maybe?" Peter smiles awkwardly, you remove your marks looking at him with a smile.

"You got all shy all of a sudden" You put your arms around his neck, giving him a little kiss on the lips.

"Not with you, I mean, no, I just… Do you think that it's time to introduce you to my friends?" Peter sighs.

"Wow…" You look at him with surprise "You have friends?!" Peter looks at you offended, you start laughing and he can't help but laugh as well with you "I'd love to meet them, if that's what you want Pete… I'll do it" Peter looks at your face trying to memorize your features, but to be honest, he already knows your entire face and body by memory, he just loves admiring your beauty.

"That will mean a lot to me, thank you" Peter closes his eyes giving you a sweet kiss.

"Well… in that case, just tell me when and I'll be there" You smile.

"How about tomorrow? You can go to my school and you can spend a day in my world" Peter suggested, you frown, that wasn't what you had in mind when he told you he wanted you to meet his friends.

"At your school?!" You ask, surprised.

"Yeah, is that… a bad idea?".

"Well, why not after school? We can go eat something or maybe… Why?" You put your hands on your hips, you can't help but laugh. "Don't you nerds go out?".

"Ouch…" Peter smiles "Well, remember I told you I'm going to the academy decathlon? I need to start staying after school to study and between classes as well from time to time, and besides… I could really use your company" Peter grabs your hands swinging both your bodies, you only shake your head. 

"Alright fine, I'll go to school with you tomorrow, but I'm not taking the bus, I'll go swinging" You wink at him.

"Uh, no, you need to take the bus with me, so you can pass as one of the students" Peter winks back.

"Ugh! Is it really that necessary?!" Peter hugs you, hiding his face in the crack  of your neck.

"For me… pleeeeeease?" Peter whispers against your skin.

"Okay… See you tomorrow then" You put on your mask getting ready to go back to the chaotic place you call home.

"Love you!" Peter screams, smiling and feeling the luckiest man alive, once he lost the sight of you, he climbs the wall and opens his window to get into his room, tomorrow was the big day, he'd  been waiting for so long to introduce you to Ned and MJ, he was sure you were gonna love them.

"Wake up Parker!" You open his window, getting inside his room, Peter was getting changed after his usual morning shower, he looked back at you smiling.

"Good morning baby" He blows a kiss at you from afar, you sit on his bed taking a good look at his room, you've been there plenty of times, but today felt different, you felt a bit nervous and you didn't know why.

"When are we leaving?" You ask, impatiently.

"Well, you're a bit early baby girl, the bus will be here in thirty minutes" Peter puts on his shirt and sits beside you on his bed.

"You're not taking the suit?" You lift his shirt a bit, looking at his bare skin, Peter smiles and shakes his head.

"I want this to be a normal day for the both of us, just you, me, school, friends, a normal teenagers romance… No super heroes, no super powers, no fighting the bad guys, just for today" Peter grabs your hand.

"Pete… Baby… I am the daughter of Tony Stark, even before I got my powers, the words 'have a normal day weren’t part of my vocabulary" You fake a smile and Peter chuckles, biting his lip.

"Are you wearing your suit?".

"No, it's in my backpack, just in case you know…" Peter grabs your backpack, he opens it taking out the suit, throwing it into his closet. "Pete…" you look at your boyfriend with sadness "I'm already going to school with you let me take the suit, you never know!".

"Y/N, nothing will happen today, and I promise that after school we'll come back here and we'll go back to being Mr and Mrs Spider-Man" Peter jokes, you smile with sadness nodding, after all you promised him a normal day.

"Peter I seriously can't believe I'm the one who's asking to keep the suit and not the other way around".

"Honey we'll be okay!". "Fine… But if something does happen, I'm calling dad". "That won't be necessary". "We'll see". "We won't".

After a quick breakfast with Aunt May, you and Peter went down to the bus stop and waited for your ride to his school, you were used to Happy driving you to your private school where your dad had you at, you always wondered what it would be like to go on a bus like Peter did all the time, not wear a uniform, this could be a good day, maybe you can convince Tony to let you change school.

"So, we met at the Stark Internship… right?" You look at Peter trying to memorize the fake story on how you two met.

"Exactly, let's not mention that we both have super powers" Peter smiles.

"I thought your friend Ned knew?".

"Well, yeah, he's the only one, but the story is for the rest of them" Peter takes your hand.

As the bus arrives, Peter manages to sneak you in without the bus driver noticing, but you didn't feel worried, it was an old man and he could barely see.

"There's Ned, my best friend" Peter points at a guy in the middle of the bus, you nod, just following Peter.

"Hey bro!" Ned smiles at Peter, you see them make a kind of secret handshake, you smile at the sight of such a cute act.

"Ned, this is Y/N… The Y/N" Peter says nervously, Ned looks at you and he opens his mouth with surprise.

"You're Peter's girlfriend?!" Ned asks.

"Yup… Nice to finally meet you, Peter talks a lot about you" You shake Ned's hand.

"He talks about me?! Ha! He talks about you a lot as well, you're like the main topic of our conversations" Ned chuckles, Peter hits Ned's arm giving him a warning.

"I'm flattered, I hope he only says good things" You look at Peter, taking a seat next to Ned.

"You're not sitting with me?" Peter chuckles.

"Nah, Ned's better company" You wink an eye at Peter, he takes a seat in front of the both of you.

"So… Are you really Tony Stark's daughter?" Ned asks.

"I don't know what you're talking about, we met at Stark industries… I have an internship as well" you smile.

"Baby, remember he knows" Peter chuckles.

"Oh… yeah, sorry" You smile shyly at Ned "So you know about Spidey?" You whisper at Ned.

The bus makes another stop and a bunch of students get inside of the bus, you see Peter shake his hand in the air with a smile, you look over to see a pretty girl, messy hair and a 'kill me' kind of face, you knew that was MJ, Peter always says that she has a funeral face.

"Sup losers" MJ sits beside Peter. She looks at you and you give her a small smile.

"Hey" you say, MJ looks at Ned and then at you.

"Who is she?".

"She's my girlfriend" Peter spoke, MJ looks at Peter with an extremely surprised look, but her face goes back to her neutral expression right away.

"So, you're that Y/N?" MJ looks at you.

"Yes, you must be MJ" You offer her your hand to shake, but instead she gives an awkward high-five.

"Are you sure you're dating this ass? He's not paying you to fake a relationship?" MJ looks at you trying to study your expressions, you only chuckle shaking your head.

"Hey! I can get a girlfriend!" Peter says offended.

"Yeah boy… but not like her, she's waaaaay out of your league" MJ huff taking out her book, Peter looks at you and you give him a little wink.

Once the four of you arrived at school, no one was paying attention to you, which you liked, normally, at your other school you were treating with a bit of privilege just because of your last name, and here, it was all different, maybe because no one really knew your real last name, or maybe because you were with the nerds, but you liked it, being invisible for once.

"Let's go to class then" Peter grabs your hand.

"What class do we have first?" You smile.

"Wait… you're attending this school now!?" Ned exclaims.

"Yes, for today" You smile shyly.

"Cool… Are we going to say that she's an exchange student from another country or...?" Ned looks at Peter.

"No, she just transferred schools that's it" Peter smiles.

"I can make an accent" you look at both boys.

"I wanna hear" Ned smiles.

"Please no" Peter puts his hands over his ears, as you start speaking with a heavy (very bad) french accent, making Ned laugh, even MJ gave you a small chuckle.

"Can she please keep the accent?!" Ned looks at Peter.

"No! Please no!" Peter grabs your hand pulling you to class.

The teacher was already there so you had to go through the entire 'hi I'm blablablaba the new kid' kind of thing.

"Y/N, tell us a bit about you" the teacher looks at you. You felt everyone's eyes over you, you looked at Peter who was sitting in his place, saving a chair beside him for you.

"I'm dating Spider-Man" you said seriously, you could hear Peter choke in the back of the class, everyone was quiet, but then everyone started laughing and Peter felt his soul go back to his body.

"Yeah, I'm dating Spider-Man as well" another girl jokes.

"Okay Y/N go take a seat" the teacher smiles. You nod walking towards Peter, you look at the girl who made a joke as well, you lean close and whisper.

"You're not his type sweetie" You wink and eye to her and she rolls her eyes at you. 

You sit beside Peter taking out a notebook and a pen out of your backpack.

"Hey sweetie… Don't sit with Parker, come sit with us" you look up from your notebook to see a boy wearing a Polo shirt, you knew, by fact that he was Flash, the annoying son of a… Who made Peter's life a living hell in school.

"No thanks, I'm good here" You fake a smile.

"Come on, I don't bite, unless you want me to" Flash winks at you and his friends start laughing.

"Just ignore him," Peter whispers, taking your hand.

"Permission to break his jaw" you whisper with anger.

"As much as I'd love to see that, permission not granted… It's okay, he's like that, you'll get used to him" Peter chuckles.

"Okay, but if he says something offensive to you, I won't hesitate".

"I love when you get all overprotective of me" Peter whispers in your ear leaving a small kiss on your cheek.

"Well, you know that someone has your back Parker" You bite your lip, trying not to kiss him so you both don't get detention.

As class goes by, you actually pay a lot of attention to it, making a bet with Peter on who could answer more questions than the other, the loser will go patrolling alone, but the both of you know that's an impossible thing. 

You and Peter go to the next class, woodshop. 

As you and Peter arrive, Ned is already there, working on something, Peter grabs your hand and you look at him with a smile.

"Remember when you first got your powers? I made your web shooters here" Peter smiles, you could see how proud he was of his work.

"I can remember that day as if it was yesterday… And I can also remember your face when you showed me the web shooters for the first time" You caress his cheek with love, Peter feels electricity in his body, he shakes a bit and smiles, you really had an effect on him.

The two of you made your way to Ned, you see him working on some type of mechanic arm, he seemed to be having a bit of a problem there, you look at Peter wondering if he's going to help his friend, but no, Peter only sits beside him, working on his own project.

"Need a hand Ned?" You smile, sitting in front of him. Ned and Peter look at you.

"Uh… I don't really want to bother, I can't seem to make this work, I don't know why" Ned shows you the mechanic hand, you grab it taking a good look. 

Grabbing a bunch of tools on the table, you quickly manage to fix it and the mechanic like hand starts moving.

"Wow… where did you learn that?" Peter looks at you with a bright smile.

"Yeah, that took you like five seconds!" Ned grabs the hand admiring your work.

"Well, I'm Tony Stark's daughter, I know how to repair his suits as well" Your chest sticks out and you look at Peter feeling proud, you were glad that there was something Peter Parker didn't know about you.

"You keep surprising me babe" Peter smiles and winks at you.

"Not in front of me guys, please…" Ned rolls his eyes and goes back to working on his hand, you and Peter chuckle.

"So… You really are spending your day with the nerds huh?" Someone speaks behind you, you take your eyes off of Peter's project to look behind you. 

Flash was there, he was holding his phone typing something, he looked at you smiling.

Flash basically leaves running, when he does, Ned and Peter explode in laughter, you look at the both of them with a smile.

"Damn! That was amazing! About damn time someone said something to Flash" Ned cleans his fake tears.

"You didn't  have to  say anything to him Y/N" Peter smiles.

"You're right, we don't need to prove anything to that loser, but I got angry! He's an asshole and the thought of you having to deal with this dumbass all the time makes my blood boil!" You take a deep breath trying to calm down "Also, I wanted him to know how good you are at what you do" you wink and eye to Peter, your boyfriend opens his eyes wide and looks at Ned, who is pretending to mind his own business with his mechanic arm.

"Y/N… Don't speak like that" Peter whispers, he was a blushy mess, he looked adorable.

Back at the table, Ned turns his head to look at you and then he looks at Peter.

I'm glad you made that connection! 10 years is really a long time between murders so it's definitely a strong clue. However, what I failed to mention, though, is that Sunghoon is not the same age as Y/N, reasons why are in the latest chapters so I won't say anything about that. This is definitely not to say that he is or isn't the stalker or anything, just presenting facts—he is a mature student so, idk if it adds any layers.

(Jake definitely deserves better and I love him a lot because he deserves the world instead of the ending he got, but honestly, sacrifices needed to be made for the sake the plot ;; )

On the subject of Sooji and Soobin. To be really honest, though, I never really properly developed her to the point where I needed to use her in this sense, both Sooji and Soobin were always just polar opposites in terms of thoughts and actions, if that makes any sense. Sooji, mostly, was a character I developed in order to retell stories that Y/N doesn't get to experience—she has contacts with certain characters that perhaps Y/N doesn't, and it presents their point of view, so that's the primary reason why she was developed. Furthermore, I never actually expected her to go this far, so she just ended up being there. And most prominently, I wanted to use her mostly as a plot device in order to propel the plot, she would act as the id to Soobin's superego and then Y/N would be the mediator, or the one receiving all the opposing decisions in order for her to make the choices that propel the plot, and so, in a sense, I made Sooji pretty detached from reality, but hopefully I'll be able to ground her a little more to give her more relevance/relatability, so hopefully she'll be more rounded as a character ;; (so if she becomes a little more caring, it's just me compensating orz she will lose her relevancy in the story later on)
