okay but instead of giving her a romance plot this season, I think it would've been so interesting if Priya's Season 2 character arc had been about the fact that she won Total Drama and it still wasn't enough for her parents. and her coming to terms with that and realizing that she doesn't have to continue living under all the pressures her family puts on her. realizing she can do what she wants with her time on the show in this new season, that she can have fun and really enjoy being a contestant on her favorite show instead of solely focusing on winning, and this newfound freedom bringing her to the realization that she can do what she wants with her whole life as well, and isn't defined by what her family predestined for her.

can't we say that the Felix/Troue situation is similar to Orchis/Orchid situation???

Troue and Orchid are both the "empty vessel" of someone. they completely forgot who they used to be. Down the road, they decide to try to learn more about themselves and live a life for themselves regardless of who they were before that.

But down the line, their "past self" will try to make their way back into their body, but they became their own person so much now that instead of it being a recovery of the self, it ends up forcing them out of existence as long as the person they used to be wants to take control of their body back.

with the difference that Orchis genuinely cared for Orchid and managed, thanks to Adam, to work a way for Orchid to have her own body so Orchis would come back. While Felix says he always hated Troue and only wanted to crush him and have him disappear to get back into control again while Troue is helpless to stop it. + the fact Orchid was manipulated by her amnesia into working for an evil Empire, while Troue's amnesia made him forget that he did use to work for an evil organization. though interesting that both the Empire and the Organization are after a creature that can grant a wish and rewrite time and space itself.

it's like Felix/Troue storyline is the dark side/bad ending to the Orchis/Orchid storyline.

and it's even more hitting home to me since on top of Orchid getting her own body which is a clone of Orchis' afterward, they also ended up cloned by the enemies, with Zwei who kept trying to replace Orchid in particular. Which echos the themes of Durendal's shapeshifting and stuff.

like i'm sure it means nothing because it's more just that sometimes some storylines end up being similar, but i find it so interesting how we therefore have two stories of people associated to duplication, who end up involved in evil organizations with a knack at rewriting history, who ended up being considered empty shells after their amnesia but became their own person so much so it became a problem when the "original self" came back in their mind.

i just think. one day i will write an essay about carmy and shame because i think that takes up so much of his character in general but specifically like. how he went out of his way to be the best, and how he was constantly belittled for that by his family. at the christmas meal, all they do is talk down to him and act as if he thinks he's too good for them, or that his professional training is somehow inferior to just learning from home or etc etc. it makes me . ... HM...
