No bc the fact that the og pines twins use the same comments and speaking mannerisms at time after being apart for 40+ years genuinely wrecks me. Here’s some things that tear me apart about the og pines.

Key examples:

“What are ya waiting for, a kiss on the cheek?”

Being able to do perfect impressions of each other.

The fact Ford remember’s his brother almost perfectly after spending 40+ years away from him.

Stan tends to refer to Ford more as his brother, whereas Ford refers to him by Stanley.

Stanley kept the bunker in the basement identical to how Stanford left it.

The fact that Ford immediately stopped trying to fight Stan when they fought pre portal after Stan got branded.

In the Gobblewonker episode, his boat was named the Stan o’ War, a reference to the boat he and Ford named the boat from their childhood.

When Stan gave dipper the key to Ford’s bedroom because he reminded him of Ford.

Finding Ford’s glasses and wiping them clean.

You know I find interesting how the popularity gap between the two stans has changed over the years within the fandom. Back in like 2016 you could argue that it was a bit more equal. Many fans from that era seemed to like Ford more because of his looks, but Stan was the more charismatic of the two. However, on twitter and tumblr today, I've seen a larger gap with Stanley as the more popular one now that we fully understand how much of a trooper Stan really is and how fucked up his life was. And how it's a miracle all he ever became was just a scammer and tax evader. That combined with the fact that he's the one who we saw more of in the show.

Ford fans tend to like him for his genius and his character archetype (serious scientist/adventurer) and the gap moe he has when he loosens up a bit. Stanley fans like him for his bravery, his unconditional love for the twins, and his underappreciated brains (ran a relatively successful business while studying quantum physics). That and because now that certain body types have become more attractive over the years, a lot of fans do genuinely find Stan as attractive as Ford, not just for his personality, but his specific look as well. Ford appeals to fans of well-put together serious types, and Stan appeals to fans of feral raccoon types.

It’s hard to believe GF came out that long ago. Of course it’s different for me because I just watched it 1 or 2 years ago and not when it aired on TV. I’m a little disappointed in myself by that fact

Soo the OG Pines twins are now even older than they were before. If Stan and Ford were 60 or so in the show, then they’d be about 72 now. I decided to draw them younger because look how cute they were ☺️

I don’t mean to brag but I really love the way Ford’s glasses look

You may notice the hearing aid in Stanley’s ear, there’s actually a reason for that! Stan canonically wears hearing aids in the series. It was probably just a joke to make fun of how old he is because they’re only mentioned once and never again. BUT I decided to roll with it!

My older cousin and his twin (RIP Charlie, he died a couple days after he was born) were born prematurely, which isn’t uncommon for twins. So it can be assumed that Stan and Ford were also born early. Since my cousin was born so soon, his hearing didn’t develop properly and he’s been deaf his entire life.

So, I headcanon that Stan was born deaf or hard of hearing. That’s why I draw him with a hearing aid! I don’t know if it’s accurate to his time period, but I still think it looks pretty good.

there is nothing that won't convince me otherwise: rifts would've existed worldwide if it hadn't been for the weirdness being contained in gravity falls

Haven’t collabed with @renconner in a long while for a mini comic (minus our big one, Instinct). We were talking about one of Stan’s lowest moments involving being outside with that damn sign, so we decided to make a comic with Stan remembering it. I’ve also kinda of assumed Filbrick would lie to Ford about what’s going on with Stan (Stan probably did too to some extent).

Biggest mischaracterization people have about Stan and Ford is that Stan is the weird feral one and Ford is well put together.

Like? They are both massive weirdos, but one ran a successful business for 30 years, takes pretty decent care of two children for months, and showers regularly.

The other one fell into a situationship with a demon bc the demon called him a good boy, drank human blood just to see how it tasted, gave a child he barely knows a crossbow, and got banned from the library because he stank too bad.

Ford is "racoon with rabies" coded.
