Y'know Crocodile's Mushroom Lore kinda makes sense though, like he seems like the kind of person who does appreciate some peace and quiet, having time to himself to relax and enjoy some fresh air (something that would be easy to achieve by just going on a walk in a forest), but also, what is mushroom foraging if not a low-level type of treasure hunting (the "treasure" isn't particularly valuable, but it's edible so it's rewarding in its own right); an oddly fitting hobby for a pirate

(mgv) house in pre-heat, hiding out in wilson's office and needing a nest but taking what he can get right then without going home because He Has A Case. and startles wilson half to death because house isn't on the little sofa or like a chair at all, he's sitting on the floor, the knobs of desk drawers digging into his back, right next to wilson's chair. and wilson (after getting over the initial shock) just sighs sympathetically.

"this because of the, uh...? (gestures vaguely)"

"yeah. can't go home yet so."

"right, so you choose the next best thing: the doctor's office"

"hey, i'm a doctor too >:( "

but then wilson just settles into his chair and runs his hand through house's hair and house relaxes. "just paperwork for me for the next few hours so you've got time to... pull yourself together, or close enough to it." stay however long you need, i'll be here

outsiders book purists you are allowed to have strong opinions about and fundamentally disagree with the musical changing the way dally’s suicide plays out but don’t act like they did it for no reason like it is abundantly clear why that choice was made

#like i’ve said it in the tags before but having a black actor portray dallas changes the implications of that scene so drastically #and like i have not seen the show but the original novel is definitely not ready to engage with issues of race and i can see why #(especially considering how much it seems like they had to cut from the novel to the stage show)#the production team might choose to veer away from having their production (based on a story that does not delve deeply into issues of race #feature a black man being murdered in cold blood by police officers #like idk obviously dally being black adds a really fascinating aspect to his character but i do think that perhaps #the musical theatre medium is not the best suited for seeing how that canonically accurate death might affect the story with dally being #portrayed as a black man #(what with the constraints of stage adaptation + the fact that all information delivered to the audience has to somehow be filtered through #dialogue/monologue/song etc.)#idk let me know what you think #the outsiders #the outsiders musical #outsiders musical #dallas winston #dally winston
