I forgot that the book takes place in 1899 for some reason, but regardless I'm very eager to see how that's handled (since I read it when I was much younger, I doubt I would have picked up on that). but I mean that's just fascinating given the history of the civil war (Cornelius Vanderbilt was a union man--not in it himself, but donated a giant steamship worth about 1 million USD). Also fun fact: George Vanderbilt paid his staff New York wages, which were higher than Asheville wages-- up to the equivalent of $73-ish dollars for the highest working members.

"her legs felt like explosions of speed" idk why but that line made me laugh. the book is so well-written but for some reason that line just feels very, idk, childish? it kinda took me out of the experience but maybe that's just me

"friends had to help friends. she didn't know much about life, but she knew that." she doesn't even know the girl but considers them friends and wants to help her. serafina seems to think Braeden is kinder than she is, but honestly I don't think that's true. I think Braeden is more willing to trust people, but serafina is more willing to sympathize with them, & I think she has preconceptions of people in power being bad (mr v, mr Thorne-- though the latter turned out to be true--rowena, etc) which turns out false

Overall: I love this!!! perfect first chapter 10/10! very eager to read chapter 2!

Huh, see, that's a hard ask because anime is at it's core just a Type of Media. There's anime for kids, there's anime for horror fans, there's anime for action movie junkies, there's anime for comedy lovers, there's anime for romance suckers, fantasy enjoyers, sci-fi nerds, murder mystery, animal lovers, people who like a bunch of pervy fan service, people who love it when the characters are doomed by the narrative, love it when The Power of Love and Friendship saves the day, love it when The Power of Love and Friendship ain't worth shit.

I can't really tell you what anime is good for you because I don't know you. But if you know what you like in things like books or movies or video games, there's definitely an anime for you to enjoy.

Gonna layout what I'm looking for —

And if you didn't know or don't remember, hatstall — the hat taking more than 5 minutes due to finding the student's personality equally suitable for different Hogwarts houses.

Keeping in mind : The sorting hat needs ONE strong trait to put you into a house. And it's not just about who you ARE but also who you want to be, what you VALUE.

Starting with the ship I post here ALOT Sabigiyuu

Giyuu — I feel like Giyuu has a mixture of Hufflepuff and Gryffindor but he wouldn't be a hatstall, under five minutes but over three. He would in the end, according to me, be put in Gryffindor. He can challenge authority — letting nezuko live and then violating corps rules for a second time to have his stance, alone (alongside shinobu but he doesn't know that I think), besides Tanjiro. Although his traits align with Hufflepuff, usually these kids get sent into Gryffindor.

Sabito — Now him, I was confused about. Hufflepuff, Slytherin, Gryffindor? Where do I put this man? He's resourceful in the way he fights. He's shrewd (don't argue with me, I won't be listening), and his sole ambition for eight years was to kill the hand demon, before that was definitely all demons(remember — there's different ways to gain your ambition). He is kind and has a strong sense of justice — very Hufflepuff of him, I highly doubt that he's not hardworking or doesn't value hard work. He's brave, anyone who joins the corps is brave. He's totally daring, and the fact this self-sacrificing idiot saved everyone in his selection is VERY brave and you know this type of reckless self-sacrificing habit is liked by Gryffindor.

So he's a total hatstall in my mind. 3 of Gryffindor, 3 of Slytherin and 3 for Hufflepuff. So three on three makes it hard for the hat.

I'm putting him into Slytherin for shits and giggles. I feel bad for writing such a big para about him but I was genuinely confused on where to put him.

Giyuu, who's heard only bad things about Slytherin: No, that's totally wrong! He's strong, kind and caring, take it back! >:(

Bonus :

Makomo — Ravenclaw. No questions asked. Her traits : Analytical thinking, Loyalty (Hufflepuff one), intelligence. Do I have to explain myself? Also, the way she speaks kind of reminds me of Luna Lovegood. Like when she went on a rambled about what the breathing does.

Tsutako — Easily Gryffindor. Although she didn't have enough screentime (barely a mention and a frame), she's naive, but brave to put her life on the line the night before her wedding just to protect her brother and did I mention that gryffindor likes reckless self-sacrificing people?

Now, onto our next ship Inotan

Tanjiro — he's Hufflepuff. He's hardworking, patient, fair, honest (he can't lie and his face screws up so bad when he does), he's loyal, to his sister the most, throughout the anime and manga. He's literally so by the book Hufflepuff you don't have to look at any other house, the sorting hat barely touches his head and he's out to Hufflepuff.

Inosuke — he's totally Gryffindor. He's brave, Daring, has a sense of adventure (he's literally fighting for fun), has a willingness to challenge authority, he's very impulsive. And just like how Tanjiro is by the book Hufflepuff, he's by the book Gryffindor, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Also, I may or may not have a soft spot for Hufflepuff x Gryffindor.

Bonus :

I had decided that Nezuko was a muggle in this part but I changed my mind and I sorted her into a house in part-II.

Zenitsu — he's a Hufflepuff. He wasn't brave until after receiving the letter of his gramp's suicide. Until then his alter ego was brave, not him. Although, at a surface level it looks like he's gullible, we know that it's that he's willfully ignorant, he lets people fool him. Also, Hufflepuff is known for taking left over students. Zenitsu, I mean this in the least mean way possible, is not brave, daring or reckless enough for Gryffindor, he's not Creative or an analytical thinker to be in Ravenclaw. But he's hardworking, and that's Hufflepuff for you.

Sigh, now I'm getting lazy, so I'll make part two with Tamashino and Obamitsu.
