I can't believe I haven't realised it sooner.

So in seasons 5 and 6 we've witnessed how substances containing Guillermo's DNA have protective and healing effect on vampires.

Ofc this sparked discussions on what other hidden abilities Guillermo and his body have. And there's this small but significant detail I've never seen brought up:

Both of these instances had the use of Guillermo's DNA at the time when he was turning into a vampire.

Guillermo was renouncing his birth status as a vampire slayer, becoming the literal opposite of that. So what if his DNA was going through the same process? Becoming the opposite of danger to vampires - protection and recovery?

This also checks out as the "vampiric ability that comes from a character trait" (e.g. Nandor's pyrokinesis, Nadja's ultraloud voice) since Guillermo always cares about and protects his loved ones, some of whom just happen to be vampires.

And the incredible feats we've seen from his DNA? They came from his transition period. What power he would hold as a full-fledged vampire?👀 Maybe, just as his slaying final goal was to kill a vampire, his vampiric final goal would be to bring one from the death.

I wholeheartedly believe we can't truly comprehend how powerful Guillermo can be as a vampire.

- She would have a plan

- The plan may not exactly work out exactly how she wanted it to

- But either way it would be perfect to you

- She would plan a surprise party at the Bronze

- She would make sure everyone kept quiet

- (she wouldn’t even tell Dawn there was a party)

- She would want you at the centre of attention

- National y/n day

- she worried you usually would fade into the background cos she always has some slayer stuff to do

- she just wanted one moment where she could show you how much you mean to her

- she was very secretive, but you honestly hadn’t expected anything

- You were just happy to be hers so the fact she was doing this was secondary to your love

- It was T-ten minutes until you were about to walk through that door and who appears?

- A vampire, of course.

- Buffy scowled, storming up to the demon and screamed in his face that he had just ruined a month of planning

- He put his hands up in mock-surrender before dropping it and saying the fight didn’t stop for anyone

- Buffy traded blows and managed to stake the vampire (it was her PB time too)

- But this had all happened… Just as you walked in

- You coughed, spluttering slightly at the dust but you were quickly distracted by everyone’s shouts of ‘Happy Birthday!’

- You smiled, dusting yourself off and wrapping your arms around Buffy

- She looked a bit upset about the dust but you told her it was perfect

- It was the way you both lived and she had managed to do all of this with only a minor attack

- You loved it, all of your friends were there and you got presents and great live music

- She had gotten everything so right

- You danced and had the best time, feeling so loved with your girlfriend by your side

Spike:

- he would have remembered a week in advance

- Mostly cos he overheard you saying it to someone

- He didn’t forget he just wasn’t used to celebrating birthdays

- But of course once he realised he was trying to pull together some kind of plan

- (Although he’s not great at plans, evil plots or birthdays bless)

- He wanted to show you how much he loved you

- But nothing seemed enough

- He made Dawn and some of your more agreeable friends brainstorm with him

- Over what you would like

- Dawn insisted on a party so he just nodded

- The day came and he gave you your gift

- It was so meaningful

- And he even wrote a little bit of poetry

- Almost snatched it from you and tore it up as you read it

- But you gushed over it and absolutely adored it

- So he grinned and you embraced

- Then It was party time! at the Bronze

- He put his good shirt on and took your hand and lead you inside

- Very affectionate, always with a hand on you

- An arm around you, whispers and kisses

- Barely left your side

- So much so that it might as well have just been the two of you

- You had loads of fun with the Scoobies, dancing and laughing

- But as soon as Spike gestured with his head you nodded

- Took his hand and you both skipped the rest of the party

- Knowing the night was young and there would be plenty more celebrations to be had in the crypt

Anya:

- She would be giddy

- She would have such grand, sometimes outlandish plans

- Some too grand to actually be able to pull off

- She wouldn’t be able to keep any secret

- She’s very clingy and involved with a s/o

- So would want it all to be everything you loved

- Would glow if you said all you needed was her

- Absolutely would gush and throw her arms around you

- With that adorable excited smile

- She would plan a big day out

- She’s very adventurous in all aspects of her life

- She would decide on something you would love

- Maybe settle for the beach or she may ask what you would prefer

- Would insist on paying for everything

- The entire day

- If you express surprise at her spending so easily

- She will scrunch up her nose and tell you of course she would spend money on you

- Happily so

- The reason she wants to make more is so that you and her can be comfortable

- Together, just the two of you

- She would choose a really great gift

- It would be wrapped to perfection

- So nicely you wouldn’t want to unwrap it – it was a gift in itself

- You would drive to your destination and she would hold your hand as you walked around

- She may complain a little if it’s a lot of walking

- But she would definitely be enjoying herself

- Would whisper sweet things in your ear

- And you would find a cute little place to have a meal

- It would be very intimate

Angel:

- Would be really anxious about getting it right

“Didn’t you know you colossal idiot?” 

Buffy said to Spike in disbelief, the scooby gang had a meeting as usual there was a big bad monster around and naturally they were trying to come up with ideas, (y/n) usually helped out with reading books and on some occasions would even dabble in witchcraft and tarot reading, in Spike’s own words he was a selective badass, so it shocked the now good vampire to see his beloved not turn up.

Spike huffed, putting his hands on his hips as he rolled his eyes at the blonde slayer, “I must be to put up with you lot when (y/n) isn’t here, I’m off to find my boyfriend have fun reading kiddies.” He announced, walking his way to the door with his black leather duster floating around him, he whipped out his lighter and quickly lit a cigarette, he loved making dramatic exists almost as he liked making dramatic entrances. 

On his way to (y/n)’s place he kept wondering what might have been troubling him, and of course why didn’t he tell him? They did everything together, before they found out they liked each other Spike would often come running back to (Y/n) telling him everything and in turn (Y/n) would offer him a shoulder to cry on and a place to sleep until Spike felt like he was over stepping his welcome. 

It didn’t take Spike long but he soon stopped outside his boyfriend’s house, he dropped his finished cigarette, stepping on it to make sure it had gone out, then started to walk towards the front door, so far, everything looked normal. Spike opened the door, surprised to find open and not locked, ‘okay... that’s not normal’ he thought to himself, closing the door behind him and locking it. 

“(Y/N)! You here, love ?” 

Spike shouted, he heard no answer, so he sped up his pace and started to walk upstairs, deciding to try his bedroom first, but as he reached the top of the stairs he could finally hear something, someone crying and hiccupping, the closer Spike got to (Y/n)’s room the louder the sound got, Spike knew it was him, and it broke his non beating heart. 

Spike slowly opened the door, it creaked announcing his presence making (Y/n) stop crying for a moment to look up at the sound, he was crying all alone in the darkness of his room, on the floor while holding a photo of someone. 

Spike’s eyebrows furrowed as he moved into the room, walking towards his lover. “Hey baby, what’s the matter? You can tell me anything you know?” He lowered his voice, he sat on his knees, bringing his hands up to take (Y/n)’s face in both of his hands, (Y/n) looked at him with tears dripping from his ocean coloured eyes. “M-my... my dad... Spike he’s d-d-dead...” (Y/n) whispered, almost as if he didn’t want to believe it himself but saying it made him acknowledge it, Spike sighed sadly, bringing his hands from (Y/n)’s face to his arms to hug him, the crying boy felt both comforted and at despair, he was comforted by Spike but at the same time nothing could stop him grieving over his lost loved one.

“Anything I can do to help? I- I know hugging usually helps when you get all anxious and panicky?” Spike tried his hardest to let his boyfriend know he was there, whatever he needed Spike would give. 

“C-can you just.. hold me, that’s enough.” (Y/n) said with his hoarse voice from crying for god knows how long, Spike sat on the floor, his back against the wall and brought (Y/n) to sit on his lap, hugging him again tightly, his face rested on Spike’s shoulders, after an hour or so of Spike just holding him his crying quieted down. “Also, because I know you worry about everything if you ever need to you can stay with me alright? No matter what, I’m here for you baby, forever and always.” Spike whispered in (Y/n)’s ear, nuzzling his nose against the side of his face. “I love you, so fucking much, you have no idea, I’m sorry I didn’t tell you sooner, I just didn’t want to say it, the only way the Scoobies knew was because I left the phone on and when the hospital told me I just ran.” (Y/n) confessed, his breathing and left over tears the only reminder of what Spike arrived to.

“I’m not mad about it, you had your reasons pet, I’m glad you’re telling me now though, and as much as this burns me to say this, we’re all here for you, me, Buffy, Willow, Giles, Tara and even what’s his name -” “Xander” “Xander” (Y/n) and Spike both said at the sametime, it made (Y/N) quietly laugh and begin to smile. He leaned his head back slightly to properly face Spike, who in turn leaned his forehead against (Y/n)’s. “God, what I’d be without you...” (Y/n) trailed off.

right so, after i binged-watched Find Me in Paris and the whole ‘Chosen One’ trope was introduced, i started thinking back as to how many chosen one’s there have been before and used in shows (specifically kids-based in this case, not including buffy and merlin) so then like any rational person i started placing them in slots of the six Infinity Stones from Marvel

and then after that, i rewatched Julie and the Phantoms for like the tenth time, and then the usual replaying their songs for the hundreth time, and i started like doing that mind thing where you picture a scene as the song plays, and i started a weird crossover between them and FMIP, i dont know why?? dont ask?? because i dont know??? i just kept picturing two things:

JATP were touring and were currently in France and maybe the POB crew caught a show of theirs?? that’s alright with me OR: JATP were visiting the POB because reasons?? like i legit didn’t know what else, i had this idea that maybe they were there to be taught by some ballet teachers for a music video maybe? i mean Julie already dances and has taken dance before and i can imagine her and Luke taking the class for Perfect Harmony

Lena, Frank, Ines, Jeff, and idk who else but that’s everyone I like that’s still there, somehow travel to an alternate reality and their time pieces don’t work and Lena’s powers don’t either and Frank deduces that they must be in a different reality and to get back home they need the help of that world’s chosen one. Just like their world, there are four possible ones, and to their surprise, they all know each other. In fact, they’re a band. So yeah, Julie and her Phantoms are possible chosen ones and ofc it ends up being Julie. (i wouldnt put too much thought into it like at one point Jeff would go ‘how can they be choices if they’re dead???’ and whateves but idc)

like that’s basically it for that little mashup since in this list, Julie isn’t a chosen one, she’s been assigned one by me, (but this doesn’t mean i want it to happen, chosen one tropes are so overused, this is just for fun)

as for the others,

Merlin is Power mainly because out of all of them i do think he’s the most powerful, i mean he’s Merlin, forget about Lena’s time travel powers, this guy has been around for eons. Anyway, Merlin is his shows chosen one, but funny enough, his destiny is actually to babysit and advise his world’s chosen one: Arthur Pendragon. 

Emma is Space, she is also from Every Witch Way (an average but addicting show that ran for 4 seasons on nick) On the plus side, this show introduced the chosen one in S1 (unlike other shows, looking at you FMIP) And tbh there’s no big reason for her to be Space, it was kinda the last one, but i did find a sorta connection: in the show it’s a running gag that whenever she tries to teleport herself (or anything really) she always ends up at her school’s pool. So you could say she still has to master space?? (plus, us fans got this show to 4 seasons, we demanded it and we got it, anyone else?)

Buffy is Reality, Buffy the Vampire Slayer also introduced the chosen one early in S1, she’s mainly referred to as ‘the one’ or ‘the slayer’ etc. I didn’t really have a reason to make her Reality, she and Merlin were up for Power and I gave that to him, and when it came to Reality or Space for Buffy, I went with Reality (plus its red, and y’know vampires and blood and stuff)

Julie is Soul (again she’s not really a chosen one) but idk whenever I tried to assign a stone for her, the others just didn’t work, plus I mean, Soul is one of the most difficult ones to get and a lot of people thought it didn’t even exist. (so in other words it’s the most special) and yeah i figured why not, Julie’s my favorite 

Lena is Time (i’m not even gonna explain it, it’s perfect, bye)

Nina is Mind, she’s from House of Anubis, another show that introduced the Chosen One early on and also had us think it was someone else before figuring out it was Nina. I thought Mind was a good fit, she’s really smart at solving mysteries and figuring stuff out, her seasons were really filled with research and thinking outside the box and whatnot.

anyway yeah, if someone has a better order for these Chosen let me know

also, yeah, i mainly included live action TV Chosen Ones. I already had Nina, Emma, Lena (and Julie in my head) so I just needed two more. Ngl, I was considering Aang from ATLA, the sisters from Charmed, Emma Swan from OUAT, even Harry Potter at one point. 

and yes, i do have too much time on my hands because not only did i plan all this out but i actually spent time making those edits to be all symetrical and complimenting each other at 3am

Art Claims Round 3

Third round of story claims are up. At the time of this posting, 77 stories are left. These are all great stories that deserve an awesome artist. Please look into your hearts and see if you want to claim any of these. Also, TELL YOUR FRIENDS. Bribe them with smiles and candy. I've just checked with my lawyer and it's perfectly acceptable to grab your artist friends and stuff them in a sack and bring them over here*. *Actually, my lawyer's words were more like "Don't do that." This year, art claims are working a little differently than in years past. We are using a google form to streamline things, which should make things easier both for you as participants and us mods. To claim a story, the form requires email, check in ID, and the identifying number of your first choice of story. Putting your top three choices is best in case your first or second has already been chosen. Your check in ID should be different from any fic you signed up for or any previous art claim. Please be sure you've read the FAQ before claiming.

what i remember from the interactive introverts show in belfast (28.5.2018) SPOILERS

 this is all from memory so quotes and the order may not be completely accurate but close enough.. *pretty detailed spoilers*

- before the show began and the playlist was on, 'dans siri' kept interrupting saying "this is dans siri he left me to go look at some memes i hope you’re enjoying the playlist" and it telling us there’s no recording allowed and to turn our phones off or "ill beat you up only i cant because i’m just an ipad"

- the playlist had bts mic drop and red velvet peek-a-boo and everyone started singing and dancing to it and i was shook so many were fans of kpop omg i was liVING. 

- explaining his tweet "the weirdest thing happened, sorry if you’re here but omg that would be weird, we were sat on a bench and then this little boy wearing a fedora walked by, stopped, looked back and did this *tipped his hat* like was that directed at me?? there was no hello, nothing! and then he waited and did it again?!" he asked phil if he seen him and he said he did. dan said "phew if you didn’t i thought, i’ve just seen god, god just came to me in this form to judge me. and if he did id be going down (to hell). i am not prepared for that"

- during the sacrifice of dan (what context?) phil came out in a leather apron with gloves and said he is wearing his best serial killer outfit.

-phil misses the board and hits dans hip and dan said “if that was 5 inch to the left then we would not have been friends anymore”

- phil saying it was distracting watching dan get out of his padded suit and then dan tried to sexily get out of it whilst phil was talking and phil stopped and stared at dan and said "im just gonna let him do it" and so in the end we all just watched as dan struggled to step out of it and then literally also tripped. then a few minutes later he realised he still had one of the shoe protectors on his foot (he called it a shower cap lol) and then took it off and awkwardly walked to the side to set it down then awkwardly walked by and laughed under his breath.

- according to the audience dan has a stress mushroom, apple and a girls motivation locked in the box under his bed. dan was extremely concerned as to why she thinks he has locked an apple in the box. and everyone laughed when the other girl said her motivation and dan said "i too have my motivation locked in a box and i’ve lost the key" 

- phil saying the key to dans box was v 50 shades of grey bc of the red ribbon

- at some point they both said a word wrong and both times they did The Thing™ they do when they mock each other when they make a mistake.

- 'phantastic phacts' as a title on screen. phil says "like what we did there?" 

- dan saying his phil trash #1 

- phil saying “put your nipples away” (when a photo of a topless man appeared on screen) and said it in some type of accent LMAO i died

- *phil having to make meeting beyonce sound bad and he said bc hes so clumsy that he'd trip and kill her and was really dramatic whilst saying it and dan was stunned and just looked in shock at phil then us and said "are you as traumatised as i am right now" 

- dan having to make stepping in a puddle while wearing socks seem good and screamed and said "NO that is literally the worst thing in the world..ok you dont appreciate dry feet until suddenly they’re not. once a day we should all put on a fresh sock and go to the kitchen and step in something moist just to remember-" phil interrupts shouting no and dan continues saying "do you ever feel like you need a drink. well, with a wet sock you can just- *lifts his foot to his mouth and everyone dies on the spot* 

- dan and phil struggling to pronounce all the irish names and everyone was screaming how to pronounce it and dan made everyone be quiet and squealed "wAIT. just one person" LMAO and then the one time phil said a name right and everyone cheered for him 

- dan would happily become an amazing dancer even if it meant phil would wake up with 2 left hands and 2 left feet because he says it wouldn’t make a difference in phils life bc hes that clumsy now it’d probably be the same with 2 left feet. 

- phil would save dan from being bitten by a vampire even though it would mean that buffy the vampire slayer never existed. they talked about how the vampire could bite him and he could live forever as a vampire and phil said he would bring him bloody treats (then dan referenced to before when phil was x-rated lester*) and said "what kind of bloody treats?? omg it would be beyonce he killed beyonce and will feed me her corpse" then said "no what if they just want me dead" and then phil decided to save him. 

- dan thinks this phil without the fringe is an impostor and he killed the real phil. he screamed a couple of times throughout the show to ask where the real phils body was and said will get him to confess eventually. 

- "are you really just a lizard in a phil suit..because that would explain a lot" phil is a scalie confirmed. 

- phil constantly squatting/slut dropping to the buzzer sound effect 

- i cant remember the context but phil said something about him having layers and dan stopped and said “layers?? are you shrek? what do you think this is, shrek the musical?”

- phil had to say dans biggest fear and he said moths, and it was wrong so he got an electric shock and dan said "wHAT NO! ok right i have this thing where i hate anything underwater. like imagine you’re in the sea, what are you scared of? sharks? woop no, whales? no. but there’s a boat and beside the boat there’s a buoy and attached to that is sLIMEY CHAIN. EW NO. i’ve got submechanophobia. (i googled it i think that’s what he said idk) so its not moths, phil you know that!!" 

in the deep chat bit: 

-they talked about phobias. someone submitted saying she had a phobia of balloons and asked if she was weird and asked what they’re scared off. phil said "no you’re not weird. everyone has their fears. whats yours dan" and dan said "as we discussed before, things underwater, slimey things! uHH. but yeah i get that, its the anticipation of when its gonna pop and that’s stressful" and asked phil what his was and said "i’ve always had a thing where i was scared of the deep sea ever since i was a kid. also, not that its really a phobia but, horses. i don’t like them i don’t trust their intentions. like imagine waking up one day to a horse in your bedroom" lol 

- they talked about procrastination. talked about how changing your environment, like "doing a very not dan and phil thing" and going for a walk (dan squealed at the thought) could help distract your mind, getting some fresh air and then going back to your work with a different mindset. then talked about how phil has the need to reward himself when he does something and said that he always says to himself that if he finishes a certain task that he will reward himself with a marshmallow. and then said that if you reward yourself with something that it could motivate you to finishing whatever you’re putting off. dan said phil is using the example of a marshmallow but that he really does this and that he tells dan not to let him have the marshmallows until he finishes whatever he needs to do. dan then said that even if your procrastinating school work or whatever to just write the first word, or try writing a few sentences bc atleast you’ve started it and if you start writing that you could get into the mindset and keep writing until you finish. 

- they talked about making a youtube channel. someone submitted that he has started a youtube channel about reptiles and if they had any tips. and dan said "omg stephen. phil is probably already subscribed" lmao. phil praised him for starting a channel about something he is interested in and how its bad to start a channel just for the views and the subscribers. then said that instead of talking about what hes going to do, he should "just do it, show us that lizard" and dan said "yeah dont start off like "hi, so my name is [stephen], nice to meet you. ive always wanted to make videos about reptiles but i never rea-" lmao 

- phil saying bitch in his disstrack oh my god

- when dan was playing the piano and phil was singing and said that even though they’ve been friends for so long they’ve never fallen out and then starting listing things they could fall out over eg. phils dying houseplants, how dan never goes outside, phils vision is blurry and dans a furry. 

- for the most inaccurate prediction of interactive introverts someone submitted "2 hours of dan and phil twerking to the teletubbies theme tune" and then dan proceeded to twerk whilst singing it and saying the teletubbies names..

there were some really soft things they said at the start and the end, and how we were there bc were happy(?) (i dont remember the exact context or quote but it was something like that, all i mind is that it was v sweet) and idk i just love them omg it was the best night!!

Tagging @mags-duranb, who asked (thank you for the interest btw, it was super sweet. Also, I love your art <3333) :)  I was gonna make a post anyway, but I wanted it to be a timeline photoset hence why I’m not replying directly.

I thought it was about time I gave you guys a nice long update on the purrito, since we have now officially reached 2 months of age as of yesterday!

To answer the requester’s question, SHE is doing just fine xD  That’s right, when we visited the vet about a week ago for the second round of shots, we got visible proof (or rather lack thereof) that we have a little girl in our hands.  This was only a couple of days before I made an insta post announcing the official name, because of course it was. Way to embarass me, kiddo.

So I’d like to introduce you all to Buffy, because hello, so dang pretty, look at that last pic that was taken only yesterday, and she’s also pretty fearless and resourceful, though not necessarily highly intelligent xD  Not a vampire slayer, but an ankle slayer for sure.  I generally post updates on her every couple of days on instagram.

Oh, and, just as a final note on the whole name thing, yes, we still call her purrito from time to time, as well as a thousand other nicknames ;) 

So! On to the update (and an extra... suprise?¿¿??) below the cut:

Buffy’s issues with food have gotten a lot better.  She used to be vicious about meals, meowing and pleading hours before her feeding time.  At first we thought we were perhaps feeding her too little, so we followed the general advice everyone gives re: how much to feed kittens, which is to say we just let her eat her fill.  She did not stop until her belly was so distended I had to physically drag her bowl away.  So we decided to slowly increase her intake whenever we saw she started to get skinny.  Which, given her Longcat status, was so. damn. OFTEN.  Seriously, if she looks malnourished in some pics, I assure you she’s not.  She just grows and grows like a damn weed.

Lately, however, since her weight has reached a healthy plateau, she’s gotten much better about food.  No screaming, no scratching, and she doesn’t really complain before feeding time anymore.  She still follows us whenever we dare visit the kitchen, but hey, it could be worse xD

Something I’ve never mentioned here is that when we first found her, her whiskers were very short and stubby, which we originally attributed to her being very young.  But eventually, we noticed that not only were her brow whiskers much longer, there was a lone whisker next to the stubby ones that was regular-sized, and the shorter ones looked almost... manually cut, if that wakes sense.  A bit of research led us to find out that sometimes, littermates may do this to a runt (bite them off) when they’re competing for mom’s milk, which... not only makes my heart ache for our little buddy, it starts to put her whole attitude toward food into perspective.

Long story short, we were prepared for the possibility that she may forever have issues with food, but she’s been improving constantly.

Other than the food issue, Buffy has grown into a happy, healthy kitty :) She’s up to date on her shots, and we took her to the vet only last week where we got nothing but good news.  

She’s very attached to us, especially me since I work from home and basically see her all day, and though she doesn’t complain and yowl when she’s left alone, she is super cuddly when we return home.  

Given her age, she’s incredibly playful to the point that we get more exhausted playing with her than she does xD She likes climbing all over the place and exploring everything within reach, always looking for new ‘lairs’ and stuffing her butt into every nook and cranny, she loves to chew on cables (which has led us to do some highly creative concealing) and often engages in what we call ‘Crab Dancing’ when she gets excited/territorial during playtime:

We were glad to see she takes to new (human) acquaintances very well, and she hasn’t (yet) started wreaking havoc in our apartment.  She, has, however,  gotten very bitey during playtime, and it’s ALWAYS playtime, so we’re trying to encourage her to bite on toys instead of our fingers: it’s a sloooooooooow process.  There’s also the possibility that she’s teething a bit early so she’s just constantly looking for relief.  We’ve bought her a few special chew toys that should arrive shortly, and hopefully they’ll help.  Even if it’s still early for her, hey, new toys, amirite? xD

Still, she never lashes out to us in anger/anxiety, not even when we gave her a bath where she was visibly distressed (yes, I know it’s not necessary for cats, but we’d never cleaned her with anything but pet wipes since we rescued her; she needed at least one) and yet she never tried to scratch or bite us.  TL;DR she’s mischievous, but not aggressive outside of playtime.

She’s super long for her age and will most likely be a pretty long kitty when she reaches maturity.  Seriously, y’all, Longcat 2.0:

I’m still bummed my theory that she was part Van doesn’t seem to be true (in my defense, she has something very similar to the characteristic Van spot on her nape!), but hey, less shedding xD She also has a permanent bald spot on her spine now (as we knew she would), where the vet had given her that shot that saved her life back when she got sick.

She’s a sweet little doofus, who thinks she’s really a parrot and likes to perch on our shoulder, and meows the whole time I’m in the kitchen because how dare someone in this household eat when she’s not eating too, and when I ignore her grey-green supplicating eyes she just curls up over my foot while I wash the dishes, and she constantly gets tangled up in our legs and waits for us behind closed doors, and she’s a friggin’ Duracell battery who does.not.tire, and she  tosses half the litter out when she digs, and she loves to take naps with us cuddled right over our chests so our heartbeat can lull her to sleep, and we love her.

The above was the post I had prepared and was going to post yesterday on Buffy’s 2 month ‘birthday,’ so I’ve left it intact.  However, I would be remiss if I didn’t add this latest development:

For a while now, we’ve been discussing how to deal with Buffy’s inexhaustible energy levels, because we do have other responsibilities, all of whom also require a good night’s sleep, which as you may imagine, has been a bit rare lately.  There’s this saying that the only one who can keep up with a kitten is another kitten, but we were very reluctant to adopt another one, since we’re currently dealing with an imminent move and we weren’t sure if we could even afford it.

Well...................

I found and rescued Buffy.  My partner found and rescued this little guy yesterday:

I’m going to be even more reluctant to make any grand claims than I was when we found Buffy, because this little dude (this one is a dude, indeed) is in pretty bad shape.  Though she’d been abandoned, Buffy was very clean and hale when we found her, even if she was a bit small and underfed.  

This one though... poor little soot sprite is all skin and bones, he was flea-ridden until we took him to the vet, he’s filthy, he’s terrified and has a bum leg from some sort of accident.  We didn’t even have a plan yesterday when my partner found him, but we figured since we had a lot of leftover milk powder and kitten pate from Buffy, we might as well feed up this little orphan. 

It took some coaxing with a syringe, but he got a bit of milk down which got his appetite going and we were able to feed him some pate.  He actually ate a fair bit, which is encouraging.  We know for a fact he was abandoned by his mom, btw, she’s still roaming around the neighborhood but refusing to tend to him since he’s already older than 4 weeks (maybe 1,5 month old max).  Just two weeks younger than Buffy.  After he got some food down, we took him to our vet, who was reserved but cautiously optimistic even for the leg.  He made us no promises, of course, and he advised we prepare ourselves for the possibility that he might not make it.

We’ve now had him for just under a day and he’s been improving.  He was very scared at first, hissy when I went near him, and the first time I fed him at home, the new environment had stressed him out to the point that I had to use a syringe again to get him to eat.  And yeah, we’ve had to keep him isolated ofc to protect Buffy (and him, omg, she’s literally twice his size in weight, no exaggeration, and most likely a social dunce with other kittes, she would destroy him).  I’ll be able to give him a bath tomorrow afternoon after the 48hr clock on the flea medicine runs out, which is yet another reason we had to isolate him.  Today, he’s been getting less and less reserved around me and he hasn’t needed to be force fed once, he’s been downing pate like no-one’s business.  I weighed him earlier and found he’d gained about 40-50 grams, a number I offer cautiously as both weighings at the vet and today aren’t entirely accurate, because squirmy kitty.  Still, he’s gained weight, even if only a little.   

Buffy can tell something’s up, since we basically had to move her litterbox and feeding area and haven’t let her in that room since.  It’s been... an adjustment xD But she bounces back admirably fast, she didn’t even bat an eyelash at the change; she’s just curious to discover what we’re hiding from her, obviously.  She’s probably heard him meowing, too.

We honestly have no clue what we’ll do with him.  Taking it one day at a time.  He might not make it at all, and even if he does, he may never get along with Buffy, in which case we’ll have to give him away for both their sakes.  I’m not gonna lie, money is a concern.  Research tells me at their age and beyond the cost isn’t prohibiting, not even double that of a single cat.  So if he doesn’t require any costly meds, we can afford him, especially since Buffy can now eat dry food (and so will he in a couple of weeks).  This, again, is all hinging on a) him not having any serious, contagious illnesses, and b) him and Buffy getting along.  In the long run, we know it would be way better for Buffy to have a companion to play and cuddle with, but we have to be realistic and prepare for the worst for now.

Soot sprite is a little cutie, he has the softest, most plaintive meow and there’s even hope for his little leg down the road (though honestly, that’s the last thing that concerns us; even in his current state, he’s perfectly mobile).  His eyes, too, should get better with time if he grows healthier. 

SO WE’LL SEE.  RN I am beyond stressed and reserved, but also kinda hopeful. *sigh*

Oh boy. Right, I get it. You wanted to try Buffy with a normal guy but, oh boy, he was not normal was he? No. He was a soilder trained to kill/capture demons. Listen, I get it, but Riley not for me. I always felt like he hated Buffy being stronger than him not to mention he got pissed off & went to vampires to get fed on because Buffy was lil' preoccupied with her mother being in hospital & needing a serious operation. Sorry she wasn't there to hold your hand but holy shit. I assume he just wanted her to need him but Buffy didn't need that shit. She had to look after Dawn, take care of her Mum, deal with slaying, school, her sister being a key & a hell god. She really did not need Riley getting mad & leaving because she, unfortunately, could not priortise him at that point.

It's a toss up between Angelus & Glory. Angelus was so sadistic because he could be. We've seen in the show before that vampires aren't 100% evil but Angelus relished in it & he was potrayed so well.Glory was amazing tho ???? Like powerful, kinda loopy & she just wanted to go home really. Plus, um, she was a literal God ???

14: What is the strongest point of season 5?

Season five being my fave season definitely had ups & downs but one of the strongest, rawest, emotionally draining moments is Buffy finding her Mom dead. Because we all thought Joyce was fine, she was spinning around, going on a date. Things were looking great & suddenly they weren't. There was no vampire or demon involved, it was a natural death, a human death & it hit, I think, everyone so hard. Buffy's desperation at trying to wake her Mom up is just agonising to watch. Seeing her so helpless is heartbreaking.

16: What character do you with was developed more?

Drusilla. I feel like they kinda left her in the 'she is just insane' bin & never explored her. Like, she was amazing, I love her but it was like 'she is just insane' kinda thing. Even Spike started making fun of her for it ???

18: Which show do you like better, buffy or angel?

Buffy. Angel season one & two were great then it all started going to hell once he had a baby like ??? how. then season four happened like what the actual fuck was that. I didn't mind season five but when you have an episode dedicated to like, murderous puppets & angel being one you know it's the end. So Buffy. Yes. Plus no Buffy? No angel.

20: Would you want to be a vampire, demon, human, witch, watcher or slayer?

I feel like slayer is the obvious answer & it'd be great ?? but as buffy & many others have said, slayers have a short life & idk if i could deal with that. A vampire would be badass since I am already a night owl. But so would a witch. Maybe like a vampire witch ???? omg yes.
