So, for those who don't know, in my tsamsiyu ta'em fic, my oc Kayla befriends a human, Jocelyn, and is later introduced to two Na'vi males who tend to stay close to the human female: Txe'la and Meui

(Above) Here they are in the scene where we're first truly introduced to Tuk at High Camp. Txe'la and Meui are not brothers but grew up together after they became orphans of war. Their families were killed when Hometree fell.

While Txe'la is easily more gentle and kind, Meui is respectable but stern. Jocelyn is a healthy mixture of both, and in my fic, Kayla sees how well the three of them complement each other.

Jocelyn is a biotech and, therefore is very knowledgeable, her specialties expanding between medical training, technology, and Pandoran botany. She speaks fluent Na'vi and is always excited to take samples of whatever plant Txe'la and Meui bring back from their travels.

We know absolutely nothing about all these characters (other avatars and human allies) and I consider that a crime, so I've woven my own story about them. Here's another little fun fact I've written regarding Jocelyn:

When Jake sees Kayla for the first time in months, he notices her avatar's nails are painted a coffee-brown color, and later we learn that it was actually Jocelyn who painted Kayla's nails. She apparently has a secret stash hidden somewhere, but it's gotten less secret as she's been found painting other avatars AND Na'vi nails. I headcanon that she likes the nail polish because it reminds her of Earth, something she misses but knows she wouldn't ever go back to. She uses the nail polish as a reminder.

Jocelyn is played by Jocelyn Christian:

Jocelyn is credited as "Bio Lab Tech" in IMDB, but when you watch the movie with CC, it uses her name, so I stuck with it.

I wanted to give some of these unnamed humans and avatars a story, so I gave Jocelyn one, and it ended up turning into another polyamorous pairing (Jocelyn/Txe'la/Meui) that hinted at what was to come between Kayla, Tonowari, and Ronal later on in the fic.

I've debated whether or not to give Jocelyn her own fic and focus on her relationship with "her two Na'vi boyfriends" as Kayla once boldly stated, but I haven't started mainly because I have way too many WIP, not to mention the fic Jocelyn originated from 😂

SLIMERIANA IN MY MERMAID AU!!!

SO!!! Slime is a human and Mariana is a mermaid. Mariana specifically is inspired by a banana eel because it's yellow kinda like his mc skin's suit. also he's got a red-ish gradient going up his arms + claws because it's my favorite character design thing + matches his mc skin more. Mariana doesn''t have glasses but he does have impaired vision as far as mermaids go.

Mermaids can see super far because the ocean is vast and they need to be able to see if someone is coming to kill them u know? Mariana can still see that far but everything is just blurrier for him especially the more far away it is. his other senses are slightly heightened to make up for it + she probably uses something like echolocation underwater if she really can't see shit. i mentioned mermaids have claws as well and i need you to know that he paints them black. it's important to me (thinks of cc!mariana always having black nail polish).

Mariana has probably found a lot of junk in the ocean including some jewelry that people lose. she wears a few rings she's found as well for fun :)) she thinks they're neat. Mariana loves to people watch. he lives closer to the surface so he's about human sized and understand human speech very well but not how humans work. he never goes close to the beach when there's so many humans around but he likes to watch them and pick up on words they yell and say a lot.

Slime is not just some guy, he's some guy who also has a cousin that he's basically parenting and her name is Juanaflippa (he always takes care of her bc its like rich aunt/uncle who are always on vacation). Early in the mornings Slime usually runs along the beach to exercise and has captured the eye of our local mermaid Mariana.

Mariana’s favorite word to yell is "SHARK" because the humans in the water yell it so much. its funny. i bet one time after slime and marina know each other mariana yells SHARK and then drags slime into the water with her laughing. (her favorite thing to do is drag slime into the water). a different time she's hanging out with juanaflippa and she is teaching her swear words. Slime shows up and mariana yells "FUCK" with the enthusiasm of an 8 year old. he's so fucking happy and has zero clue what he just said. Juanaflippa is delighted. Slime needs a few seconds.

Mariana likes Slime because he usually talks loud and clearly so it’s easy for mariana to understand and he thinks he’s ✨pretty✨ but that comes secondary to messing with him. He'd also consider Juanaflippa to be apart of his "pod" aka family so he's basically like her parent (the other one being slime). Mariana took one look at Juanaflippa and got attached, plus she loves him so ya they get along well :))

2. When was the last time you cried? Yesterday. I'm pretty emotional, so I cry frequently. It also relieves stress, so I guess it's a good thing?

3. Do you have kids? Nope, I can barely take care of myself 🤪

4. Do you use sarcasm a lot? Sometimes, when I am in a bad mood.

5. What sports do you play/have you played? Currently none, I'm a couch potato, though I enjoy long walks with my best friend. As a kid, I was in a circus acrobatics group, where we built human pyramids, rode the unicycle, walked on a rope, etc. It was a lot of fun. If anxiety wasn't a factor, I would love to go to a belly-dancing class! Dancing is my favorite "fitness activity". I'm not particularly good at it, but it's fun to do! 6. What’s the first thing you notice about people? Their clothes and their overall vibe.

7. Scary movies or happy endings? Happy endings!

8. Any special talents? Sadly, I can't think of anything. Oh wait, does knowing how to ride the unicycle count?

I also love watching series and movies. In winter, I like to knit and I also collect yarn for knitting (I love how squishy and soft and colorful wool is). Speaking of colors, I also used to do a lot of nail painting/collecting nail polishes and stamping plates, but I lost interest during the pandemic. I did paint my nails in hot neon colors last week though and I bought 4 new nail polishes today on a whim, so maybe there's a new spark?

11. Do you have any pets? Yes, my granny of a cat, Lina. She turned 20 in March. She requires a lot of care and attention now, which I gladly give her. I'm happy she is still here and I love her so much!

12. How tall are you? 163 cm (5'4"). I'm so happy that petite jeans are a thing! Being short was okay during the cropped jeans phase, but now that most jeans are ultra-long and wide or flared, I can't buy regular-sized jeans anymore...

Steve and Chrissy cousins part 2

part 1 I mainly want to go into the Chrissy and CC friendships cause they are so dear to me. Gareth and Chrissy are besties who both like punk music much to Eddie’s dismay. Jeff is the only one who will watch sport games with her which means that he frequents the Harringtons. (Unnamed freak who will have a name I just can’t think of one rn) and Chrissy both enjoy dnd model painting cause I can see Chrissy and him just lying on the floor carefully painting figurines since Chrissy claims it’s easier then painting nails (which it is not she just has excellent hand eye coordination).

All members of CC know Steve is her cousin they just feel like it’s never really the right time to tell Eddie stands on tables twice a week to complain about jocks Munson. I also just enjoy thinking of all sorts of hilarious scenarios for Eddie to find out. Like when Chrissy drags them to Starcourt so they can sneak into movies since her cousin works there and he really doesn’t care and Eddie just blanches when he sees Steve. And Chrissy always forces Steve to do the entire ahoy spiel cause she finds it endearing.

Now I imagine Chrissy comes out to Steve after she comes out Eddie since well mlm and wlw solidarity comes first. Also I just really want to keep Steve’s reaction to Robin’s coming out to be very genuine for him. So when Chrissy is about to come out to him Steve insists they do it in the bathroom cause it feels disingenuous any other way.

When the Party begins to play DND with Eddie, he has this whole thing where he introduces everyone and when he gets to Chrissy they all just know her as Steve’s cousin. And just because Chrissy plays dnd does not mean that Steve does it just means that he will come downstairs at 3am and find her creating a new character while crying cause her character just died last night and she will not rest until she creates a worthy replacement.

Chrissy is still very much a jock and in my mind she also plays basketball and swims cause well there’s a pool so she might as well use it. Her and Steve both trade varsity jackets cause Steve doesn’t like his anymore but he does enjoy the cheer patches. I can also imagine Chrissy and Steve just sitting on their couch and getting really into the game and talking about it on their drives to school cause their friends aren’t really that into it (except for Jeff but he has band and is not always available). Just cute sibling jock bonding

You looked at your fluffy haired boyfriend and then back at chat, who was begging you to paint his nails.

Karl chuckled at your confession, “I’m sure you’ll do fine!”

Karl ran a short poll for chat to decide what color you should paint his nails.

Unsurprisingly black won with 50% of the votes. Karl left to grab the nail polish and you stole his chat to talk go chat.

“Chat, this is going to go so bad I’m calling it now.” You whispered right before Karl walked in.

Climbing out of his chair and back into your own. Karl eyed you suspiciously.

“Chat, what did y/n just say??” He asked.

“I didn’t say anything,” you smiled at the stream, ”right chat?”

Of course most of the chat had your back. Karl brushed it off and sat back in his chair, laying everything out on his desk for you.

“Okay,” you let out a deep breath. “Let’s do this!”

You started painting Karl’s nails, but after successfully painting a few your nose got itchy.

Noticing the look on your face Karl furrowed his eyebrows, “what’s wrong?”

“I think that I’m going to sneeze.” You announced.

“ACHO!”

Before Karl could react you sneezed and knocked over the nail polish. Spilling it all over his hands and desk. You quickly covered your mouth to stifle your laugh.

“Y/n, now I know that you said you were bad at this. But I didn’t even think this was humanly possible!” Karl laughed loudly at the situation and you joined in.

Karl ended the stream shortly after so the both of you could clean up your mess. He left you to clean up the desk while he washed the nail polish off of his hands. Luckily it wasn’t dried yet. A few minutes later he returned, holding his hands up to show their lack of nail polish.

“Oh good you got it all off!” You sighed in relief as Karl walked up behind you, wrapping his arms around your waist and resting his chin on your shoulder.

“Y/n, you know I love you right?”

“Of course! I love you too.”

“Good, good… but I’m never letting you do my nails again.”

You laughed and shoved Karl playfully before hugging him.

“Let’s finish cleaning this and then I can paint our nails alright?” Karl asked

Michael wasn’t the best brother, but he was at least there unlike their dad. He walked his siblings to school, even if he said it was just because his was on the way so he might as well. He made sure they ate, even though it was always take out and he’d just shove a plate at them and say to hurry and eat it before he changes his mind. And he used to play with Elizabeth every so often before he decided it was to embarrassing and stupid to be seen playing kids games with her. While he always brushed off his acts to take care of his siblings as just doing it because he happened to already be doing something related anyways, he still took care of them and helped raise them.

But he didn’t like them, infact he resented them, they were younger so he was expected to be the mature one and give them what they wanted if they wanted something he had, he was the eldest so he was expected to take care of them when their dad was busy, and he was always busy! He was never around, and when he was he’d either ignore them all, or give CC something to make him stop crying. Michael saw it as their father favoring them over him sometimes, after all Elizabeth got an animatronic made just for her, and CC got all those plushies, and even a special custom made one the kid claimed talks to him, though Michael never head the doll speak... But still they got special things and when he was hurt or upset Michael was told to man up and get over it, that his dad didn’t have time for this, and that he would live. He knew his siblings had it just as bad as him... well maybe not as bad at first as at least they had someone who would take care of them at least a little...

It’s not that he hated them, he just hated that he was forced to pretty much raise his younger siblings, a spoiled brat who never listens and a cry baby that got upset at the drop of a dime in his eyes. He loved them, but he didn’t like them. Which was fine, he could put up with helping sometimes, maybe once a week, but it was never sometimes, their dad came home maybe once a month if that. And even if their dad was home, he’d either be in the basement working on who knows what or he’d be ranting about something that he saw as an insult to his genius.

Michael didn’t like his siblings but he loved them in his own way, he used to be able to somewhat handle taking care of them, it wasn’t even hard. Let Elizabeth play with his hair or maybe paint his nails or something simple, and take CC to see Fredbear, his brother used to love seeing Fredbear. But then something changed, out of the blue their sister was gone. Out of the blue their dad was harsher and lashed out at CC when he did even the smallest thing he was told not to. Out of the blue his little brother was crying so so much more, and wouldn’t stop, anywhere and everywhere his brother cried. And he wouldn’t stop. Saying something about “Baby ate Elizabeth! Baby’s stomach opened up and it ate her!” or how the other animatronics might do the same, it was nonsense all of it. His brother probably saw a scary movie and had a nightmare after their sister went missing, or something, after all how could a robot eat anything? Much less it’s stomach? But CC wouldn’t stop about it, Michael couldn’t understand it, his brother wasn’t scared of the characters, CC still called the dolls his friends, and watched the show, so why was he so scared of the animatronics now?

Michael was expected to be mature and just comfort CC and tell him whatever it took to calm him down everytime his brother got scared, but it was getting to be to much, he was getting sick of having to be the parent. So he decided maybe he should just pull a prank on his brother, after all most older siblings do that right? It’s normal to do so right? So he started to jump scare his brother, he never touched him. He never hit him, he just... Popped out at him, from behind or under things, just to spook him, sure it made CC cry, but so did their dad locking him in his room, or him going to fredbear’s lately. So he didn’t see much of a difference. It’s not like CC told him to stop, it’s not like either of them would bring it up after his brother would calm down... And each time he made sure to tell their dad to leave CC alone, that he’d been through a lot that day, and if their father didn’t listen he’d at least make sure his brother was okay when their dad left again.

Pranks that’s all he pulled, mostly when he was forced to stay home with CC because their dad was to busy to watch the kid, and uncle Henry couldn’t watch him either. He was even more annoyed when he was told he had to watch his brother on his birthday, their dad couldn’t even take time off or something for CC’s birthday? But no, of course Michael had to be the one to watch CC at the party, and the week before the party to. So his ‘pranks; became daily after a while, constant and if he had been a better brother, if he had payed closer attention he would have realized somethings. For one CC had no friends, for another CC really really hated his brother scaring him with what he feared most at the moment even to the point he ripped the head off his plushie to not be reminded of what Michael was doing, and lastly... How dangerous the springlock animatronics were.

At the day of the party Michael invited his friends to come along, after all he didn’t get to see them often outside of school, and it wasn’t like many others were coming to the party anyways. All his brother did was cry at the party, if he had been playing closer attention he would have seen the bags under his brother’s eyes showing the kid hadn’t slept either. “Man you’re brother’s kind of a baby isn’t he?” That comment annoyed him, weither because it was true, or because he didn’t really like anyone calling his brother that besides him he wasn’t sure. But all he could say was “It’s hilarious.” trying to brush it off. And ten he got an idea, a bad one if he had stopped to really think about it but an idea none the less. “Why don’t we help him get a closer look? He will love it.” If it had been even a month again that would have been true, but now anymore.

“N-No please!” CC mumbled his crying making it hard for him to be very loud.

But Michael insisted, and when he and one of his friends reached out for CC the smaller of the two aftons slapped his hand away and screamed as loud as he could “I SAID NO! I DON’T WANT TO!” His crying getting heavier, but his own anger at the situation being what was fueling his tears instead of fear. “I want to go home! I-I hate you! You’re always picking on me! Everyone’s always picking on me...” CC rubbed at his tear soak cheeks furiously.

The room seemed to go quiet at that, Michael’s friends looked at him awkwardly. But all that was running through Michael’s head was the declaration that his brother hated him. His brother hated him. He looked away and huffed. “Come on. Let’s go, this place is lame. The staff can take care of him.” He ignored the eyes from everyone in the room as he lead his friends out of the building.

Things changed after the party, CC expected his brother to retaliate, to maybe get so mad at what happened that the party that he finally hit him or to jump scare him twice as much now, but instead his brother avoided looking at him, and the jump scaring stopped completely. Even when CC got home super super late and was expected his brother to be hiding and waiting for him behind the tv, instead Michael was on the couch watched the tv. When CC saw this he was concerned,  but also the tiniest bit relived his brother didn’t scare him this time. “Food’s in the fridge. I got mc donalds.” was all his brother said to him.

Things had changed... or maybe they went back to normal? Michael walked his brother to school, but didn’t say anything to him. He’d drag his brother into his own room when their dad came home and would just immediately claim CC had a nightmare and asked to sleep in his room, even his nightmares stopped... But something was off about Michael. Thoughts clouded CC’s head, had he done something wrong before his brother started jump scaring him? Had his brother been mad at him before? Was his brother still mad? Why was his brother being so quiet now.

“Do you hate me?” CC one day asked a week or two after the party. It had caught Michael off guard. and he stared at the smaller boy as tears welled up in CC’s eyes.

Michael avoided looking at his brother before answering. “Nah. You’re the one to hates me remember?” He didn’t apologiez he didn’t admit he did wrong he just... “I won’t do... That stuff anymore okay? So just... I don’t know. Don’t hate me to much? I’ll do better, so just say when I do something wrong nextime. I’ll uh try to listen...”  

CC’s tears fell and he shook his head. He hadn’t meant it fully when he said that, well... maybe he did a little. His brother had been mean to him ever since their sister disappeared and was now trying to do better again? And was even trying harder then before? That wasn’t right. was it? “I was upset. I didn’t mean it... I did at the moment but... You were being so mean.... And you never believe me.”

Michael sighed. “Okay... Okay... Run the whole baby thing by me again. I’ll humor you this time, and we’ll figure it out...” He still didn’t believe what his brother saw, but he’d at least try to see what made CC think he saw it anyways. “I’ll even ask Uncle Henry about it okay? And maybe... Maybe we can convince him to let us stay with him when father’s busy? I can’t do this alone anymore.”

The Quackity Meta: a Tale of Two Absolutes

More than anything else, Quackity wants control, and to never, ever lose his own autonomy. And that is why he despises Technoblade.

But wait, how is Technoblade a threat to Quackity's autonomy? Techno is all for individual freedom! He wants to eradicate the government so that no one can be controlled!

There's the question though... How do people exercise control within the framework of a video game like m/inec/raft?

“a person exercising power or control in a cruel, unreasonable, or arbitrary way.”

Power on the Dream SMP cannot be translated one-to-one with real  life power. In real life, yes, a government had infinitely more power than an individual, for numerous reasons. But on the Dream SMP, the government's power is always directly tied to the power of the individuals who are willing to defend that power.

Technoblade is powerful. This is not debatable. How he uses this power, historically, has been a mix of generosity and self-interest*, although primarily the latter.

Generously, He gains resources and then distributes them to his allies during the Pogtopia Rebellion, gearing everyone up and giving them a fighting chance against Dream. However, in the aftermath of Tubbo's being appointed president, Techno turns on them, swiftly and mercilessly. The moment that it becomes clear** that Pogtopia's interests don't align with his own, he crushes them with the aim to prevent them from ever recovering.

( *I use self-interest as a neutral term here. Everyone on the SMP is selfish to some extent – it doesn't make them evil, and in fact has been treated as a positive at times, as well as a negative.

**I want to note that whether or not Technoblade knew of Pogtopia's goal of reinstating the government is unclear. It would seem that from Techno's POV that he didn't know, or assumed that it was a minority who wanted another government. But on the other hand, no one was actively lying to him about their intent, and people like Tommy and Quackity made their goals very clear.  Further doubt is cast on the idea that Techno had no idea when you take into account that he enchanted the Netherite armor in the vault with worthless enchants like Fire Res.

Ultimately, there's no way to know until it is confirmed by cc!Techno himself, and it doesn't pertain that much to this analysis, but I'm aware that it's a hotly debated topic so I wanted to address it.)

It can be argued that Techno's destruction of L'manberg, both the first and especially the second time, was necessary. It can also be argued that it was cruel and a disproportionate retribution against both culpable and innocent parties. Extant of these arguments however, how does it feature into control?

Well, we can’t talk about control without mentioning the most controlling force on the server and the other person on Quackity's hitlist, Dream.

Dream is a tyrant. I don't think anyone can really make an argument against that in good faith at this point. He ticks off every box, no matter how vague or esoteric. This makes the interactions that Quackity and Techno have with him very interesting.

Quackity despises Dream. He's one of the earliest adopters of the hating-Dream-train, to the point that some people have compared him to Cassandra, a priestess who was cursed with the vision of prophecies that would always be true, but never believed. And indeed, Quackity's apprehension of Dream comes in as early as Pogtopia, and grows at a steady pace after the fact.

But despite his rightfully calling out Dream's hypocrisies and his controlling tendencies, Quackity was largely ignored on this front, especially when the time came to exile Tommy and Quackity basically predicted the next arc – If they gave Dream this concession, they would never be able to get out from under his thumb. Flash forwards to the Green Festival, and the moment Tubbo hands over the discs, any illusion of nicety drops and Dream proceeds to destroy them, side by side with...

Technoblade has always had an amiable relationship with Dream. From their first proper interaction on the server being Dream giving Techno some hefty resources, to their snap team-up on Doomsday, they've had a smooth time, with some notable bumps.

Techno fought against Dream during the Pogtopia rebellion, but when it became clear that Dream was more invested in chaos than his other allies, Techno temporarily allied with him to summon the Withers and drive the nail deeper into Manberg’s coffin.

The only time Techno has really bothered to challenge Dream directly is when he came for Tommy in exile. Techno went to great lengths to protect Tommy, hiding him and distracting Dream.

He did give Dream the option to call in his favor and take Tommy, but there are arguments to be made that he did this more as a challenge – that Tommy is worth the favor. Again, we probably wont ever know.

The difference in their relationships with Dream is polarizing. It also reflects the difference in personality – Quackity is an aggressive, ambitious person, whereas Techno leans more towards passivity and caution. Quackity is looking for enemies to challenge, where Techno is avoiding them, people who actually stand a chance against him most of all.

Technoblade is an individual with extraordinary amounts of power. Others have pointed out that he is rarely challenged by other characters or the narrative, and regardless of the merits or flaws in that, it paints him as nearly untouchable. His being in the good graces of Dream only adds to this.

And like with Dream, the only way that people have been able to threaten Techno is when they work together. The Butcher Army, for all it's flaws, managed to capture Techno through numbers – with Tubbo and Fundy (barely) holding off Techno's blood rage while Quackity snuck off to take Carl hostage. And they would have gotten away with it too, if the other most powerful person on the server hadn't stepped in – both by pointing Techno to a totem of undying in the days before the attack, and by getting Punz to cause a distraction and directing Techno to the final control room, where he could escape with Carl.

So, if the most powerful person in the world can only be threatened by people working together, and the most common form of organization is by government, then what does it say about Technoblade, who wants the government destroyed?

People like Tubbo, Fundy and yes, Quackity, all benefit from organizing and working together. They all tend to be less armed, less ready to defend themselves, and completely unable to stand up to titans like Techno and Dream on their own. It's safety in numbers, but it's also control, and control is power.

Ranboo's insistence that Snowchester is a Government is interesting when viewed through this lens. Ranboo is another person who is insanely rich, and able to defend himself and his belongings consistently. Ranboo doesn't need other people to defend him – he's living with Techno and Phil not out of necessity for his survival, but out of need for connection with others.

This seems to be the main difference he finds with Snowchester, which has a more structured environment, geared to defend itself and it's people, if harm should come their way.

Which makes sense, considering it's founder, Tubbo, holds no earthly belongings, and Jack, another prominent member, has made a character trait out of losing his things every other day. The two of them have no conceivable way to defend themselves against people who are stronger than they are. But together, holding the keys to nuclear armaments, they can suddenly play on the field of gods.

The anarchist commune, despite having all members working together and being on good terms, aren't really an organization, they're individuals with common goals and interests. They don't need to live together to be strong, they're all already strong, they choose to be near each other because they want to.

Snowchester is not a government and has no ruler, but together, it's members hold power. They have sway in the world when they work as a collective, and most members have a vested interest in keeping themselves and each other defended because of this. Consequently, the “identity” of Snowchester becomes more prominent, resulting in the flag, the uniforms and the, well, identity.

(Now, the more perceptive among you might have noticed that I basically just compared Techno Phil and Ranboo to the ultra rich 1%, which. Um. Is a pretty serious comparison to make about in a block game rp?

And I wanna say that I don’t think this was necessarily intentional on the parts of either the CCs or the characters, and beyond that, it’s just one way of examining the text. This analysis is by no means the “Right” way to view the story, just a different one.

Techno uses his considerable power to further his own goals, first and foremost. This is not inherently good or evil, it just is.

Contrast with New L'manberg's cabinet; Four people, pooling their limited power to further their shared goals. Not good or evil, just a way of exercising power.

But power is not static. Power is fluid and changing, moreso now on the SMP than ever before, and Quackity and Technoblade are fighting to define what Power means going forwards.

Techno is fighting for the status quo, knowingly or not. Individuals with power should lead the world, and those without should strive to emulate their betters. He destroys all forms of government, which strip away the rights of the individual in exchange for hierarchy and consolidated power within that hierarchy.

At it's best, this is a very freeing ideology, where nothing and no one can hold back the individual. The world is your oyster if you are willing to work for it.

But at it's worst? “Violence is the only universal language,” is the key phrase. Where does this ideology leave people who aren't strong? Where does it leave those who cannot fend for themselves? If Violence is the only universal language, then the weak have no means to speak.

Quackity is fighting to get a foothold for a contrary ideology – One that prioritizes words over violence and offers alternative methods of gaining and exercising control, such as through currency and conversation. Quackity has tried to varying degrees of success to implement this on the level of his own individual power, such as during the elections, but his attempts at employing this on a grand scale have all been short-lived.

At it's best, this ideology can uplift anyone, regardless of their strength. It encourages more communication, more commerce, and thrives under, you guessed it, strong government.

At it's worst however, it creates a brutally controlling environment. Where a few people gain absurd amounts of power through the complex machinations of a fiat currency, and are then able to use their sway and influence with governing forces to exercise power that they would never be able to hold on their own.

Again, neither of these ideologies are inherently good or evil. They both have flaws and benefits, and benefit no one more than perhaps Techno and Quackity respectively, while hindering the other.

Techno is benefited by anarchy because he holds incredible amounts of individual power. He is the strongest person on the server, he is rich beyond anyone's wildest dreams, and on a meta level, he's straight up good at the game. The current status quo puts him firmly at the top of the food chain, and this is most obvious on Doomsday, when he and the other two most powerful individuals (Dream and Philza) come together and crush the combined forces of New L'manberg. They are not meaningfully challenged in any way, whatsoever.

Meanwhile, Quackity is deeply hindered by the current status quo. He's not strong, he's poor, and he's vulnerable to anyone who wants to bully him with brute force. On a meta level, cc!Quackity just straight up does not play m/inecraf/t as much as some of the other people that on the server. (To be clear, I do not mention that as a criticism, just to contrast Techno. Neither of their levels of play are better or worse for content, they just add to the experience differently.)

On the other hand, in a government? Quackity “Law Student” HQ is suddenly on top. He's charismatic enough to debate with Wilbur “Can Talk His Way out of Anything” Soot during the elections, and come out of that arena smelling like roses. Back during the days of El Rapids, Quackity held his men back from conflict with Dream, and talked him into a corner of technical truths where Dream had to concede that he viewed El Rapids as an independent nation if he wanted to get involved with their conflicts.

And Techno, while he is brilliant and an English Major, suddenly loses a lot of his intimidation factor if he has to respect laws preventing brutal murder. Techno can certainly debate, but his go to conflict resolution is usually violence, and if you take that away, you take away the threat of challenging him. Because make no mistake, challenging Technoblade right now? Is suicide.

And this duality, this grey morality and clash of ideals, is why Quackity is my favorite character on the SMP. He isn't strong. The power he holds is tenuous and balanced on a knife's edge. It would make more sense for him to stay quiet, keep his head down, and if anything, try to change things from the shadows, where he'll be in the least danger.

But he isn't quiet. He doesn't just challenge authority, he challenges the authority; Dream, Wilbur, and of course, Technoblade.

And in all but one of those matches, he's come out with a concession from his enemy gripped between his teeth. He schooled Wilbur in the debates. He forced Dream to grant El Rapids Independence at a time when he hadn't done so for New L'manberg.

But he failed miserably when he challenged Technoblade. Quackity lost that fight in the final control room before it began. He lost the moment he formed the Butcher Army. He would have lost if he managed to kill Technoblade, and he lost still when he died.

He lost because he conceded that the only way to achieve his goal was through violence. He decided that the only way to establish himself and New L'manberg as powerful? Was to kill Technoblade. And he lost that fight and he always will. There was never a way that he walked out of that fight with the victory; Quackity lost the ideological battle long ago.

But not the war.

As of writing this, Quackity is in the process of introducing an economy to the Dream SMP, on Sam's initiative. There is no action I can think of that is wiser for him to take right now. Now, when Dream has been deposed and there's a vacuum in power; Now, when people are getting tired of endless violence and the loss it brings; Now, when people are looking for something new.

An economy is a direct challenge to Might Makes Right. Trading, supply and demand, politics. It offers a new way for people to obtain resources and a direct alternative to brute force; other methods to pay for slights and breaches of honor and etiquette. No more will pet wars be fought with iron swords and shields, but with money! A healthy sum of cash for the murder of Fungi!

If Quackity can get this system off the ground (and with Sam's help, he definitely can,) the stage would suddenly be tilted in the favor of not just Quackity, but the people who he has associated himself with most closely – Tommy, Fundy, even Schlatt. They're all business men, all scammers. This could be Quackity's world, and he's damn well intending for everyone to live in it.

We’ll have to see what Techno thinks of this - Quackity hasn’t made any moves to start another government, and an economy doesn’t inherently contradict anarchy. But it does hold a potential threat to Techno’s current power.

And as for Quackity? What will he do once he’s at the top? Will he finally become a true tyrant? Will he usher in a new age of equality and justice? Or will he eschew all of that in favor of personal riches. For once, the cards are in Quackity's favor, and we might get the chance to see what he does when he holds real power.

One of the things I love most in a RPG (Role-Playing Game) is the possibility of creating my own character with tons of different options and add-ons. I made a research yesterday and found some interesting PC Games I already knew about, adding them to the titles I have or plan to get with the best Character Customization. I’m going to list them here for you guys also attaching a few videos so that you can see directly how they work and what kind of possibilities they offer.

It’s the main reason I enjoy games like Skyrim and Fallout. But there seem to be so few good (single player) games with decent character creation - and not just picking from a few presets. The character creation in Dragon Age: inquisition was amazing (although I struggled to enjoy the game) as well as Saints Row (which I really enjoyed). I enjoy the game even more when it has role playing or social aspects added to it, allowing you interact with NPCs, or other players if the game has a multiplayer feature. I’ve been introduced to this type of creation with a game I still keep in my heart and consider one of the best of all times; The Sims 2. Seriously, I’ve created so many 3D characters that if I could win an award I’d have 200 on my shelf by now.

With that said, here you are my personal list of PC games with their awesome customization in no particular order:

I tried this game myself (the free beta that is) a few times in the past and I swear the CC included in it is currently one of my favorite. Without the complete pack I probably didn’t have a lot of additional options available in terms of clothes, makeup and hair, but what truly mesmerized me at the time was the shaping tool, not yet common in games when they released EVE. You can grab and drag different parts of the head and body, modeling unique characters every time.

2. Black Desert Online

This game has been released recently with two different packages and it seems to be quite a popular MMORPG (Massive(ly) Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game) in Russia and Korea. I’m not surprised considering the quality this game seems to have and its customization is clearly no less. Just like EVE Online, Black Desert offers a good sculpt instrument to shape faces and bodies as much as you like, plus a beautiful variety of colors and combinations.

This patch lets you play Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks with mostly non-touch based controls. The new control bindings are Control Bindings: D-Pad=Run Y+Dpad=Walk B=Wide slash B+Dpad=Long slash Y+B=Spin Attack A=Interact A+Dpad=Roll. 3. Blade&Soul

This is another Asian MMORPG with the classical ‘Anime’ style, you cannot freely reshape the character’s structure, only pick one of the available presets and play around with the sliders to modify the whole body. Still, I honestly like the bright colors, the races/classes and the fact that you can actually recreate other existing characters using additional content (just like this guy did with Cloud from Final Fantasy VII).

4. BLESS Online

Yes, another Asian online title. Hey, it’s not my fault if they look so pretty! Bless is quite recent and not yet released in its final stage, but judging by how the CC works you have as much freedom as in EVE or Black Desert and the same unmistakable Fantasy touch.

5. The Sims 4

Didn’t I mention The Sims 2? Well, looks like the latest title in the series has improved quite a lot in this area. The shaping/sculpting method is here as well, considering that we finally have more possibilities I certainly won’t complain!

Note: In this video I can see the woman has a few mods installed. If you decide to get this game (or even the previous chapters) I definitely suggest you to do the same if you don’t like the default character design.

6. Fallout 4

Another recent (and quite famous) game. Apparently you can only work on the face here, but once again we see the sculpt tool in action. Even if the hair options are a bit limited you can still customize your character and create unique features playing around with your cursor.

7. Dragon Age: Inquisition

Who knows me is well aware of the fact that I am completely OBSESSED with this game, thus I couldn’t really leave it out. The hair options are definitely questionable and just like in Fallout 4 you do not have any body morph nor slider to alter, but as you can see from this video example you are still able to personalize your Inquisitor in a good way, also using real people or other characters as reference. To be honest I like some of the default presets too, if you don’t like spending two hours working on a face (I do that all the time, but I am a basket case so please ignore my madness :P), you can pick those and get a good result nonetheless.

And don’t forget about mods! 😉

8. Skyrim (The Elder Scrolls V)

This one has been around for a very long time and it remains probably the top 1 Fantasy game out there. If you’re not into mods at all and want to keep your game vanilla be sure that the overall quality is not as improved as the current generation, you can see that from the low-res hair and general textures. The reason why I’m including this CC in the list anyway is because even if old, Skyrim looks quite good compared to other games where you only get 3/4 slider options.

9. APB Reloaded

The last game I’d like to mention (and I literally just discovered it) is this not so new title which has a kick-ass Character Creator. Not only it shows some quality graphics there, but the level of customization is unbelievable! You can make hair shorter, beards longer, create beautiful tattoos (and place or rotate them wherever you want!), add patterns to clothes and even get your personal car! 😀

There are of course many other games with a Character Creator, but they all seem pretty similar or not good enough to be mentioned in my list.

Those late-night multiplayer sessions can be really fun sometimes. Surely, everything is better with friends, they say and you’ll agree with that at some point. However, after a long day of work and studying, I like to relax with offline games. Sometimes, it’s satisfying to let yourself indulge in a great single-player story and forget about any problems bothering you. So, if you are like me, then welcome to the club! Below is my list of 20 best offline games for PC and I hope you’ll enjoy them.

1. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

W2k16 pc download. Well, you’ve guessed it! The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt takes first place on the list with its epic setting, characters, gameplay, and those breathtaking visuals! It’s a compelling game that will offer you more than a hundred hours of non-filler gameplay, and there’s always something to explore. The game looks amazing, and the combat system is great. This open-world title is everything you need on your free days! Combine that with the great RPG elements and fun dialogues with NPCs, and you got yourself a pretty good offline game! Go and play it now, it’s a must-play.

2. Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus

Wolfenstein series has been once again revived with Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus. The positive reviews flashed all around the globe, and this game quickly became one of the best shooting games of 2017. B.J Blazkowicz is such a badass protagonist and the characters surrounding the game are interesting. You’ll quickly start to care about each and every one of them, making this game a worthy offline title. Bethesda said that they won’t be focusing on multiplayer, so they can bring an immersive single-player experience. Well, you nailed it, Bethesda; great job!

3. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Bethesda is one of my favorite companies when it comes to gaming, at least they were a few years back. A few years back, this masterpiece called The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was released and it took the Earth by storm! This offline open-world title offers hundreds of hours of exploration and you’ll probably never get bored of it! The combat system might be dated, but it’s damn fun to play and explore every corner of the game. After six years since its release, I’m still eager to give Skyrim another go. It’s that great!

4. Fallout 4

Games With Character Customization Pc

Fallout 4 is one of those top offline games that you either like or dislike. It’s a great single-player experience, as you explore a huge world of fictional city Commonwealth. I mean, the story here is scattered here and there, and our protagonist is in search of his abducted son. However, the game often steers away from that and let you have some freedom and exploration. It’s a fantastic reboot of the series, and it’s surely the best game in the franchise. If you are up for that Stalker-ish feeling, then give this a try!

5. Hitman (2016)

Hitman isn’t a strictly offline game, but I included it because it has a great single-player campaign. While the previous entry in the series Hitman: Absolution relied more on linear, claustrophobic, and confined experience, Hitman (2016) went in a different direction. Here, you’ll experience a vast, open-world with lots of stuff to do. The levels are not that numerous, but they are as big as hell! You can complete your missions in various ways and earn certain rewards and points for doing so. Hitman is a challenging stealth experience, but once Agent 47crawls under your skin, there’s no going back!

6. Nioh

Nioh is a less-known offline game released this year, and I feel like this game is very underrated. It’s a child of Dark Souls and Bloodborne series, which can tell you much about this game. It has a single, crushing, and unforgiving difficulty that will leave you begging for mercy. It’s hard, and you’ll need some blazing fast reflexes and huge gaming skills to finish it. There are more than twenty bosses in the game, and every single boss will kick your ass! Don’t expect to finish this game in a few days; you’ll need weeks to finish it and it will be painfully slow as the bosses shame you every little time… you helpless gamer!

7. Nier: Automata

Another underrated game – Nier: Automata. How could the gaming community overlook this game? Are you blind, or what? This game offers thirty hours of a pure, refined, and amazing experience! It’s a hack-and-slash title that mergers several genres with it. The open world in this game is huge, and the post-apocalyptic environment looks depressing and feels like a void. Nier also introduces RPG elements so you can now level yourself up, upgrade weapons, buy stuff, etc. On top of that, there are some 2D sections that feel like a great platformer, and that’ very unique! Nier: Automata is better than most AAA titles and costs double the less of that price, which is one more reason to get it.

8. Dark Souls 3

Dark Souls series got a fantastic reboot with Dark Souls 3. Just if it wasn’t enough for the previous games in the series, and now we got this punishing game. What can I say? Prepare to die a LOT in this game, as it’s created to kill you. I’m not joking, the whole game is against you, and you can’t do anything about that except fight like a lunatic. Even when you die, the enemies around you respawn and you must fight again and again, which is really frustrating. However, if you have the balls to play it, and manage to finish it, then you deserve a medal, Sir!

9. Bioshock Infinite

Bioshock Infinite is the newest installment in the Bioshock series. This cheap game can give you a huge value for your buck, especially when the Holidays come. I mean, for just a couple of bucks, you can get a fantastic FPS game, which campaign isn’t short and definitely isn’t boring! Bioshock Infinite continues its tradition with great shooting mechanics, various powerups, and that fast-paced shooting in a beautiful environment of the game. Get ready to cause mayhem!

10. Alien: Isolation

Alien: Isolation is that PC offline game that will haunt your dreams every time you try to sleep. It’s a horror game in which you try to stay in one piece and escape that damn space station called Sevastopol. Sounds similar? Well, that’s because the game is based on Alien (1979) movie, which was a very disturbing experience at the time. It’s an intense game that makes your palms sweat and your heart beating so fast that you’ll think it’s gonna come out of your chest! Try this horror if you dare, and watch yourself getting swallowed by the Alien, in a single bite!

11. Far Cry Primal

Elephants are cool, but mammoths are so badass! In Far Cry Primal, you can hunt mammoths and even ride them when you get to higher levels! How cool are you from zero to riding a mammoth? This beautiful-looking game is set 10,000 years BC and no, you aren’t going to shoot guns, but bash the hell out of your enemies. The arsenal of weapons might not be that huge, but the combat is great and requires more thinking, as the enemies are sometimes overwhelming and can easily kill you. If you have the luck to tame a sabertooth tiger, you may survive in this harsh world!

12. Resident Evil 7: Biohazard

There is something special about that claustrophobic feeling, especially when it comes to horror games that you can play without internet. That sense of dread and despair when you don’t have much space to move is priceless. Don’t think of me as a psycho, but I LOVE the horror genre! RE7: Biohazard is a game that caught my attention as soon as it was released. This bad boy will provide you with a horrific experience that will leave you scared to death! As the game plays from the first-person perspective, it’s much easier to get yourself immersed, but also scared.

13. Outlast 2

Outlast 2 is yet another offline horror experience, where the developers decided to leave your powerless. There aren’t weapons for you to use, and surely no means to defend yourself. So, what are you left with? Well, a camera and a journal should do the trick! The game does a damn fine job of melding the horror and the dread with stealth and great storytelling. In the end, you may feel a little let down by the ending, but I know you’ll enjoy it until the very end.

14. Dead Space 3

Cat et 2015a factory password generator. While the past games in the series focused more on that horror experience, Dead Space 3 is more of an action-horror game. Sure, there are Necromorphs and they are vicious and all, but the action part is more prominent. Needless to say that Dead Space 3 is an amazing game and I’m very sad that Visceral Games is closed by EA in October. This survival horror game is hugely underrated, but it’s awesome and I recommend you to play it. It’s just a couple of bucks for this experience, don’t be a niggard!

15. Portal 2

There’s something awesome when it comes to Source Engine. The games made with this engine looks amazing, yet they run smoothly. How did Valve manage to do that? Well, as I am not a game developer, don’t ask me! But ask me about Portal 2, which is Valve’s magnum opus, and a compelling puzzle game. The whole point of the game is to use a Portal gun in order to create portals and pass through them. However, the game isn’t that simple and requires some brain skill to finish it. Grab your Portal Gun, and let’s go on a venture!

16. Limbo

This 2D game is straight-up terrifying, dark, and misanthropic from the start to finish! In Limbo, you are a little boy that needs to survive this colorless world of the game as he overcomes various obstacles and escape scary monsters. I like the game’s artwork and the atmosphere is simply top-notch here if you like the dark ambient in the games. It’s a must-play for every offline Indie games lover!

17. S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat

Speaking of the atmosphere, very few great offline games can replicate the atmosphere as it is in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat. That post-apocalyptic atmosphere of Pripyat looks great, and the game isn’t colorful, which is the whole point. Everything has that grey-ish tint, as this town suffered greatly when the Nuclear Powerplant in that area exploded. It’s based on a real-life event that occurred around 1989, which gives the game a certain weight and meaning.

18. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

With MGSV: The Phantom Pain, Hideo Kojima proved that he still has what it takes to create such immersive PC games without internet. This stealth game is challenging and full of stuff to do, due to its open-world nature. The characters are badass and the game feels somewhat dark, with a very serious tone. Oh, and not to forget that plot twist at the end that’s worth those thirty hours I’ve spent on this game!

19. SOMA

Horror fans will be pleased that I mentioned another horror title here. SOMA is an absolutely spooky and nerve-wracking experience! It creates that atmosphere that’s very unique, and with the story being told in the shape of various documents scattered through the game, it’s even more badass! You are all alone here and you’ll fight for your life, only to find out that you aren’t actually alive! A truly wonderful offline game for Windows.

20. Superhot

Superhot is a cartoonish-looking offline game that revolves around time. To make it simple, the time in the game moves when you move, so if you are standing still, nothing will happen. Vice Versa, if you are moving and shooting, then the enemies will do the same. It’s a lot of fun, but a lot of challenges too. I played it with some of my favorite death metal albums, just to ensure that I’m hardcore enough to beat it!

As we are approaching near the end of our journey through the offline PC games, I’m here to ask you a question. What is your favorite offline game for PC? I tried my best to count some of my favorite offline games, and although I’m maybe going to start a war for not including some of the games, I stand behind my words. ~ Well, I’m back. I had a lot of different things, such as uni exams, my birthday and the work that i had to do before i got my legal free time for gaming, cc and friends, and other stuff I like more than my work and uni. Also I was trapped by the nasty mood when I feel myself so stupid, useless. More than usually. That sensation was too much for me. So I didn’t even try to do something that i like to do. The Sims and tmbrl also was suffered because of it. Now, bit by bit, I going to back to sims, to cc, to socializing here.
