I’m not someone that particularly cares about a ship being canon or not, in fact I would rather the media I consume have no romance at all (giving my blog confusing yes I know)
But there is something about the canon ties between Shanks and Mihawk that drives me feral with need to see what their whole deal is.
Because like there are so many little inconsequential details that when taking separately seem pathetic and weak. But then put together it feels like it paints the picture of a larger undeniable connection and understanding between two wildly different men.
The fact that their main color is both red (Mihawk’s is a more wine dark red than Shanks’ bright red and a little more “subtle” given that Shanks is literally called red hair) but even then their main symbols, their identifying features, are red! Mihawk’s eyes and Shanks hair (yes while I love the gold and think that’s better I cannot ignore the fact that Oda consistently colors in Mihawk’s eyes red even though the gold is infinitely more popular)
They have the same birthday, are practically the same height, both with the promises to our two main protagonists to meet them at the top with a parting “gift”, both serve as a mentor to the protagonist (mihawk literally thought zoro how to kill him 😭), both with the bird(ish) iconography.
The fact that Mihawk, Mihawk! A man whose introduction was that he didn’t care much about anything and caused destruction on a whim, cares enough about what Shanks thinks to mentally apologize before trying to kill luffy (what the fuck).
The fact that whitebeard felt the need to reference his duel with Mihawk in his conversation with Shanks, despite not really being very relevant to the conversation and the fact that this is the first we’ve seen shanks in years and it is brought up in the same context as his relationship with Buggy (an already established relationship) reveals his relationship to Roger seems to point to the fact that this duel between Mihawk and Shanks is an important relationship to shanks. It couldn’t just be to show strength because he was about to clash with whitebeard the strongest man. It’s also hard to notice that those two relationships didn’t end particularly well for shanks.
Also the fact that it was Mihawk out of every character , Mihawk that brought luffy’s bounty to Shanks. Something he obviously knew would mean a lot to him. I used to think the scene was just there to show us how big a deal Shanks actually is like look at that fun childish alcoholic gang inspired our main hero? He’s actually a super big deal and he used to spar with the strongest character by far we had seen at that point (it wasn’t even close) and they fought on equal footing. It added a new layer of mystery to Shanks.
But it’s also the fact that even now with Mihawk’s bounty Shanks was mentioned and he’s the only one who this was mentioned for. Crocodile is just for his df and intelligence and they don’t mention that he literally tried and almost succeeded in subjugating a country and he was beat by luffy “or smoker given how many marines actually know the truth” even buggy who was literally Shanks’ sworn brother under the pirate king doesn’t get a mention like that. But Shanks and this duel is so integral to Mihawk’s character that it’s mentioned along with the only other long lasting fact we know about him and that is that he is the World’s Strongest Swordsman. Isn’t that fucking insane.
And like I feel insane scrapping all these details together as proof of something because they are all (besides the duel) the barest bones of a connection but god it is actually driving me insane.
And I’m not saying Mishanks is going to become canon or that it should or that I even particularly want it too. What I do want is to see how deeply these two are connected. What are these red strings of fate tying them to each other. Why can’t apparently ten years of little contact sever it? I swear to god if it’s actually nothing much I will lose my fucking mind. If nothing ever comes of all of this I will actually go insane. How can some people look at this and not see foreshadowing!?!?!!

Yamato and Kiku
WANO SPOILERS AHEAD BTW
Okay so I just adore that Wano's given us two trans characters with completely different approaches to gender expression.
First we meet Kiku, who presents so typically femme that she would not stand out from the crowd of the rest of One Piece's female characters in Wano. The reveal of her as trans is actually a twist that catches us off-guard. None of the straw hats travelling with her realise until they're told by someone else, and they never make a big deal of it again.
Tumblr media
And then there's Yamato, our transmasc king whom I love and who I blorbo blorbo something blorbo. I'm sorry, I'm trying to write well but my guy entered the manga by fucking up a dinosaur with a club he stole from his dad, ran away with Luffy, and announced that he kins Oden and that he's a guy whilst also revealing the single best pair of tits and one of the COOLEST designs in all of One Piece in the course of a single chapter... Yamato's introduction is so sick.
Tumblr media
But that's kinda my point on Yamato? Like, he doesn't try to make himself look more masculine. And he doesn't NEED to make himself look more masculine for other characters to accept him as a man. He just says "I'm a man" and outside of the literal child who needs a little more explaining in order to understand, everyone basically picks it up and accepts it immediately.
One Piece has NOT always been perfect when it comes to gender identity and presentation. Obviously Bon Clay was a fucking legend, Queers Never Die, and we stan Ivankov in this house, but it's also clear that Oda was on some shakey ground as he was trying to balance telling compelling stories with queer characters and trying to mine queerness for comedy like he does with everything else and then tripping into some really sensitive territory which he probably should have known better about.
Tumblr media
I'm not going to forget Okama Island, or the Transphobic Sanji storyline. That happened. It was bad. It was insensitive.
But I'd be foolish to say that Oda hasn't grown and learned over the years. Cause he gave us Kiku and Yamato, and I love them, they're wonderfully handled.
Hell, I've done this entire ramble here and I never even touched on Luffy's very much highlighted asexuality/aromanticism! But maybe that's not my conversation to have.

i will preface this by saying that i LOVE buggy, he is a character that i'm always delighted to see on a page and i find him funny charismatic and entertaining and even sometimes sympathetic. but some parts of the fandom have completely lost the plot with buggy.
the thing is that everything that has ever happened to buggy is self-inflicted because he's a greedy, conniving little shit who abandons people at the drop of a hat. people seem to have forgotten that the reason he lost his ability to swim and became a devil fruit user is because he volunteered to eat the fruit when no one else wanted it, but rather than actually eat it as he claimed to want to do, he tried to sneak it away so he could sell it for personal gain, along with the treasure map that he hid away from his crew.
if he hadn't tried to hide that fact from shanks, he wouldn't have been startled into eating it and if he weren't such a treasure-obsessed little clown, he wouldn't have jumped overboard for that map and he wouldn't have needed shanks to save him.
in loguetown, shanks made a decision to hold off on going after the one piece and even invited buggy to join his crew! he did not on any level betray, hurt, or otherwise harm buggy, who decided that his own ambition and self-esteem issues were somehow shanks's problem to resolve for him. the one who abandoned his childhood friend on the most traumatic day (thus far) of their lives was buggy! shanks does not even owe him the time of day, much less an apology.
shanks does not think about buggy at ALL. whitebeard thought more about buggy and shanks than shanks thinks about buggy and shanks. shanks's reaction to being asked about buggy was oh yeah we split up and haven't talked since. i think he's still a pirate?
when they met up again at marineford, shanks gave absolutely ZERO shits about buggy and the first thing he did was manipulate him into giving luffy his hat. zero great pirates take buggy seriously, as they shouldn't, because he's a pathetic loser clown. if anything, shanks is completely confident of buggy's ability to lie, steal and bluff his way to prominence, which is the only thing he deserves any amount of respect for.
buggy has had numerous opportunities to make a compassionate, kind choice and he has rejected every single one of them in favor of being a self-serving, greedy bastard. and the thing is i don't even hold that against him-- i'm sure the pirate king's crew did nothing to discourage a pirate from being a self-centered survivalist. it takes a lot of strength to be a kind pirate, which i don't think anyone would blame buggy for not having. i LOVE that buggy succeeds by being the very essence of a PIRATE.
but all of buggy's problems are buggy-made!!! the fact that this is repeatedly emphasized in the series isn't a mistake by oda, buggy is very deliberately an unsympathetic loser because he fucking sucks! that's the appeal! if anyone holds the genuine belief that shanks is in any way at fault for buggy's terrible life choices, they have fallen for the clown's lies. shanks has made a LOT of bad decisions in his life but none of them are buggy-related. every time i see an essay about how buggy was deeply wronged by the people around him (especially shanks) i just think of those guys from impel down going like 'OHHHH OUR LORD AND SAVIOR BUGGY... HE'S SO NOBLE AND POWERFUL... HE IS THE SUN AND THE SKY HE IS EVERYTHING' like please 😭
but obviously i don't control what people do or how they engage with canon or characters or whatever. its just incredible to see. casting him as more sympathetic or having been wronged by others in some way is missing the point entirely. he's a guy who was given EVERY opportunity to succeed and he simply decided to suck so so so much instead and he STILL manages to fail up. it's HYSTERICAL.

Spoilers for chapter 1096
Just read the unofficial 1096 chapter release so GIANT SPOILERS, but Oda..... you fucking tease....... how did we get everything and nothing at the same time?
The main focus is on Kuma, Ikankov, and Ginny escaping, but Oda skips over a ton. How did Kuma escape from Saturn? How did he save 500 people? How did they all get off God Valley? Did they interact with any pirates or Marines? Ginny only listed two devil fruits, so what was in the four other treasure chests seen in chapter 1095?
Plus it's interesting that Kuma returns to Sorbet Kingdom. I think this interaction hints at how he becomes king due to his kindness (before whatever happened to make him known as a tyrant):
Tumblr media
It also implies he stayed in Sorbet kingdom all his life which depresses the shit outta me. He may have only become a pirate after losing everything :(
Plus... yall... :(
Tumblr media
That's not even mentioning the major players!! Roger, Garp, all the Rocks pirates?? We still don't know what happened, why Roger and Garp teamed up, if Rocks pirates fought Saturn, how Roger finds Shanks, how the Rocks pirates escaped, etc, but neither does Kuma apparently. I have a theory that Ivankov saw Whitebeard in action, it could explain his reaction to him in Marineford.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Plus the new info that Gloriosa was with Rocks! Oh my god!! We know Gloriosa had love sickness, but who for? My theory is that she loved Whitebeard because of this interaction with Stussy. Gloriosa calls her "shameful," maybe because she's clinging to Whitebeard?
Tumblr media
I'm not sure who the two dudes in shadow are, maybe Ochoku and Silver Axe. But "today" being the deciding battle is verrry interesting, especially since this incident destroyed the Rocks pirates. Maybe they were going to disband after this day anyway? So many questions.
Tumblr media
The details of the tournament are top secret, so maybe the Marines or Garp didn't know the extent of what the Celestial Dragons were really doing. Garp only comes to God Valley to fight Roger. I'm very confused by how much he knows about Hachinosu vs God Valley, maybe it's a translation issue or intentionally unclear.
Tumblr media
And Roger says that it's been a year.... a year since what?
Tumblr media
Here are snippets of what God Valley looks like, very western. I feel like this is important...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next week is probably more flashback so maybe we'll find out how Kuma became king, if Kuma and Ginny fell in love, how Kuma and Ivankov reunited, how they joined the Revolutionary Army, etc.
Oda drop your location I just wanna talk

One Piece 1137: Introducing Shamrock
Thoughts on chapters 1134-1136 here.
CASTLE TIME!
interesting that the castle was sealed off for 14 years after the incident - maybe i'm being too badmind but maybe for other reasons than just because there's no king/it being a site of tragedy...is there traces or evidence there of what really happened?
as I said before, there does seem to be a class system in Elbaph, specifically quite intense dominance from the king/royals (so it makes sense that perhaps they've clung to King Harald's legacy after Loki's imprisonment, as a way of clinging slightly delusionally to hope and false progress...interesting that they're seemingly in a new dawn on the surface, but still very much stuck in the past)
the title from last chapter about Elbaph awaiting the sun, is also an indication that this is a false dawn - true liberation and progress is yet to come
i reallyyyyyy love the panel with the interior of the castle - the assistants once again should be getting big money, flowers every week, their asses ate
the thing about Loki killing 100 guards - possible but once again, I'm convinced the story we've heard so far about Harald's death and the circumstances around it are minsinformation, so, i'm suspicious that Loki killed all of them
we can see Elbaph has a very superstitious culture with the idea of curses (they very much talk about Loki as being born under a cursed star, and blame him for things completely not under his control like Big Mom's actions, and his mother's death) and vengeful spirits haunting the castle
the revelation of some giants having ancient giant blood is huge - i don't have too much to say right now other than i wouldn't be surprised if the ancient giants were a pain for the World Government (I mean, Oars could literally move entire countries) and the WG has been trying to find ways to 'deal' with them and their descendants for a long time. also, the literal symbolism of them having 'devil' horns is...yeah, very on the nose (i believe devil was also part of Oars' epithet)
AGAIN WITH THE HARALD BEING THE GREATEST KING this is FAKE NEWS i'm telling you!!!!!!! oda is never this heavy handed unless it'll be subverted (me screaming this from the beginning i love to spot patterns make connections etc)
Harald ripping out his horns gives me red flags too...no one is prepared to go to these lengths unless they're completely single-minded/obsessive about something, and usually that's not a good thing (especially since in this case it's about him being ashamed of his and Elbaph's past). i said this in one of the other reviews, but in One Piece the past is something you cannot run from or erase - it isn't somewhere you should dwell, or live, but you must acknowledge it or there will be dire consequences
this makes me think Harald was someone who would have gone to any lengths to 'redeem' Elbaph (in his eyes) from their 'barbaric' past, including probably work with the WG
we learn Loki and Hajrudin are half brothers, which i thought was probably the case, but extremely interesting that Hajrudin isn't just a half brother but very much a bastard, since his mother wasn't an Elbaph giant. clearly Elbaph has some racial purity ethnic superiority problems going on, so we're getting the nuance of: Elbaph does need to move forward from some of it's culture and values, but in a way that isn't just based on delusion and empty of meaning
ALSO AGAIN, FUCK HARALD!!! you're the king and you can't let your previous wife and kid live in the castle with you??? idk maybe i'm being unfair and we'll find out some Elbaph customs are extremely rigid and even a king can't break them, but eh...
still don't like Rodo but the flashback did make me like Hajrudin even more - very clear parallels to Luffy including, of course, his dream to unite all giants and be King of the Giants
CUT TO THE UNDERWORLD
ok so Gunko is beating up Loki to uh, try and make him join them lol (interesting strategy)
very interesting that clearly you can become a god, you don't actually have to be born one (we've seen that as a theme already, but Oda's bringing it up again here)
the fact that she calls it a "miracle" really makes me think of religion and faith, and especially Mother Carmel's "miracle" - all things that on the surface appear beneficent and wonderful, but are based on violence and deceit
Loki calling her a moron and going "nyah" - yeah, he's gonna be an alright guy, he's funny
and finally, the Shanks evil twin reveal!!! ngl Shamrock as a name took me out but clearly, this man is powerful (aside from just his rank)
he's got that old school colonizer aura and look - and the fact that he's so calm and clearly reluctant to just rely on violence makes me more worried because he's probably incredibly smart, tactical, and a crazy fighter when it comes down to it (in the same way Shanks is reluctant to fight but when he does, oh boy)
he clearly has the same superiority that all the Celestial Dragons do, and Gunko too - but very interesting that he's not a 'Saint' like Garling. i wonder why
his last statement is particularly informative: it confirms my thoughts that the WG has clearly been trying to co-opt/subdue/use the military might of Elbaph for a long time, and that Harald was probably their first success on that front
also, this clearly comes from Imu/the Five Elders themselves, since Shamrock is asking to call Marijoa (they don't just deal with anything, so that tells us Elbaph and Loki are clearly very important to them)
I wouldn't be surprised if Harald was made a similar offer to Loki and accepted, either out of desire for power or maybe they threatened someone close to him and he wanted to avoid all-out war
I'm leaning towards Harald basically getting close with/becoming part of the WG via Mother Carmel and the Holy Knights, and them further convinving him to believe in this vapid, empty 'peace' that looked good on the surface and made him feel like he was leaving the past behind
I also am coming back to my theory about faith and religion, because it feels like Oda is setting up a bit of a Christianity/Pagan beliefs type of dichotomy in the narrative. as we know, of course, Elbaph is deeply inspired by the Vikings, and the christianisation of Norse culture is very much something that happened in our world. I think we'll see some parallels in the story between Elbaph's ancient beliefs and mythology (particularly around Nika) and how Harald (influenced by Carmel and the WG) started to change this because Nika was probably also associated with their 'barbaric' past (as we know, Ripley's is the last generation of warriors and the last one to know about Nika)
I wouldn't be surprised if Harald (and the WG's strategy) was to develop a new 'faith system' around Mother Carmel's values of peace etc (I mean, she's literally inspired by Mother Teresa in real life) in order to give people a sense of 'a new dawn' and system having arrived - and in fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the 'gods' of this new system are essentially the World Government (maybe the Holy Knights, or even the Five Elders), which would line up very well with the way they already see themselves and have established themselves as gods
this also makes me think that maybe that was the last straw for Loki, seeing his father or his people worshipping a 'false god' or false gods, and becoming enraged at the betrayal of their ancestral values, culture, and beliefs in the sun god
my other thought is that Loki may well have found out the truth about Mother Carmel, and of course hated her, leading to the incident where he killed his father if something happened to push him over the edge (maybe his father was going to give him to the WG, maybe he was going to give Hajrudin to the WG, maybe he was accepting becoming a world noble, maybe something else completely)
also it would make sense for Loki to be causing chaos in order to maintain Elbaph's reputation as dangerous if he knew the truth of the WG/Mother Carmel's plans, especially if the WG was looking to install itself there and further develop that relationship - maintaining the older culture through violence and chaos could have been a way to keep outsiders away
Shamrock's statement about the Elbaph warriors "conquering the New World long long ago" is also very interesting to me - obviously that could mean lots of things, but it makes me think of some possibilities.
one, maybe they conquered it from the human ancestors of the WG.
two, maybe they conquered it from other strong races (like the moon people?)
three, maybe they claimed it over other giants (from what it seems like, other giants are scattered in different smaller settlements including in the four blues, so Elbaph was the most 'successful')
we've had it mentioned that the Adam Tree Elbaph is established on is the oldest, and also that it has 'perfect conditions' for all kinds of technology - in that sense, Elbaph definitely had the best conditions for creating a thriving civilization
they may also have come into connection with the moon people when those first came down to the blue planet (i mean, a giant tree is a pretty good landmark?)
but yeah, to me, what Shamrock said implies that the Elbaph giants got the best of the resources and places available in the New World - and as we know, fighting over resources (specifically land) is going to be a huge theme in this final saga - because of their warrior culture strength compared to other giants and peoples. and the WG has been trying to both neutralise their power, and I believe access something/some resource on the island itself (or maybe even the island/tree itself) for a very long time

The Fallen King
I don't think we're gonna get here given the plan is just to do the Guild Arc.
However can you imagine how fucking wild the Cannabalism arc would be in this fic?
Beast Kyouka finds Beast Atsushi stabbed in the street by Beast Fyodor. The entire Port Mafia is freaking the fuck out because godamn it guys we're not losing another Boss.
Beast Chuuya ends up essentially taking over as temporary Boss. Beast Atsushi had decreed this at an earlier point. Beast Chuuya still feels guilty for things in the past and letting Beast Atsushi down.
Which he refuses to do again.
Beast Atsushi is doing better than Beast Fukuzawa because of his ability fighting back against the virus. But he's still being guarded and on house arrest per Doc's orders.
Because of the virus and because the Agency are trying to kill him.
Beast Atsushi doesn't take it personally but the rest of the Port Mafia are livid. So as Beast Atsushi gets worse they do go behind his back to face the Agency.
Beast Oda is taken out like Bsd Dazai was and Beast Akutagawa and Beast Kunikida are off trying to find another solution.
Beast Akutugawa learned the value of life. He's basically adopted Beast Atsushi as his brother. He's not letting him die.
"Oh but who faces off against Goncharov with Akutugawa?"
Beast Atsushi.
Man drags his ass out of bed right out of Port Mafia headquarters after receiving intel from Beast Akutugawa passed to him by Beast Gin.
Really, no one is suprised that Beast Atsushi joins the fight despite his condition.
Beast Fukuzawa demands an end to the fighting and Beast Atsushi just shakes his head with a fond smile.
Beast Atsushi and Beast Akutagawa defeat Goncharov by fusing their abilities. Beast Akutugawa curious as to why Beast Atsushi would put his life on the line like this.
Pushkin stops the virus and Beast Atsushi while touched he was cared about so much... Scolds the Port Mafia for almost starting a whole ass war.
He profusely apologises to Beast Fukuzawa who says it's not his fault. While also apologising for the actions of his subordinates.
Beast Atsushi and Beast Akutagawa don't have their 6 month duel thing. Instead Beast Atsushi thinks about how this was all simply the first step in Beast Fyodor's plan.
And that he will continue to protect this city no matter what.

Many people have pointed out (in relation to Crocodad) how in Japanese the etymology of the word "wani" (crocodile) is a bit complicated to say the least and in mythology could mean a variety of things, including a shark, sea monster or a dragon
Which, of course, is quite an interesting coincidence. Crocodile does often get referred to as "wani" not just by Luffy but some other characters, and so it would be just a little funny if both of Luffy's dads were sorta kinda called dragons
There's also people pointing out how Zoro's mother was called "Tera", similar to terra (earth) and Sanji's mother was named Sora (sky). So if Luffy's birthing parent was named after a water-dwelling creature, well, it'd be cute and round out the monster trio's birthing parents in a funny way, since we'd have earth, sky and the sea
But what really is fucking me up about the whole wani-thing is the Myth of Toyotama-hime
Tumblr media
So the TL:DR; of the myth is
The pregnant princess Toyotama came from the Ryuuguu Castle deep in the oceans onto land to give birth to her child, telling her husband that when she would give birth, she would revert back into her true form, requesting him to not look at her while she gave birth. But her husband could not keep that promise, so he peeked in on his wife, only to witness a giant wani giving birth. The sight of this horrified the husband so much he fled, while Toyotama princess was so hurt by what had happened that she returned to the sea, abandoning her child.
Indeed, this myth bringing up wani pregnancy is just. An interesting coincidence for Crocodad speculation
Of course, we know Oda borrows from mythology (fucking, Fishman Island's castle is literally the Ryuuguu Castle), so if Crocodad Real, it's genuinely plausible Oda could('ve) take(n) inspiration from that very myth
Thing about it is that though...
Like, if we're assuming Crocodile never fully realized he was trans until he got pregnant, then him transitioning either immidiately or as soon as he could after giving birth would make sense. Dude seeks out Iva-chan and gets the t-juice*, so on and so forth, but my question is like, would that have been before or after delivering the baby to Dragon (so he could then pass it onto Garp)
*(Or hell, maybe Iva-chan was there helping deliver the baby, helping Crocodile crack his own egg etc, maybe the secret Iva-chan is holding over Crocoboy's head isn't that they knew Crocodile is trans and could out them, but knowing Crocodile gave birth to god know whose child)
Because like
How did Dragon find out about his partner transitioning?
Did pre-T Crocodile tell him he was transitioning while handing over the baby? Or did he just leave without an explanation and allowed Dragon to just Take In The Change after it had happened whenever they saw each other again (if they ever did, for all we know he could've just walked away without talking to Dragon again and Dragon just found out either from Iva-chan directly or from seeing him on the news)
Or did Crocodile transition first and then deliver the baby to Dragon without any warning, again, just giving Dragon one hell pf a surprise
In any scenario, how did that even go down?
And we have to ask the sad question of... is Dragon a Bisexual King or not? And would Crocodile have been... afraid of Dragon's reaction? (This would've been a younger Crocodile mind you, who would literally have been just coming out of his shell, and that shit's scary man)
Because if Toyotama Princess is any indicator, this wani's relationship did not end well after her truth was revealed
Like, let's say Crocodile transitioned first and then showed up without warning as a man to Dragon to hand over the baby. Thing is, while we know VERY LITTLE about Dragon still, I can't imagine him being like violently transphobic or even lashing out at his partner when he'd come out. But I could imagine him being so shocked he'd be left utterly speechless.
And I'm not entirely sure which would be worse; Dragon outright but "kindly" telling Crocodile he's not into men and breaking the poor bastard's heart, or Bi!Dragon being too shocked to say anything, letting Crocodile to just jump to conclusions based on his reaction (and maybe then causing Dragon to jump into further conclusions (that Crocodile must actually be into women)), unintentionally causing a divorce out of sheer misunderstanding and literal lack of communication
And the sad part is, considdering Dragon is a very secretive man, who according to the Crocodad Theory can't even have told his partner his full name mind you... The miscommunication seems very plausible to me?? Does it not?
Or, maybe Crocodile delivered the baby to Dragon pre-T and told him he's going to Iva-chan without further explanation, jumping into conclusions, afraid to hear what Dragon would say. So he just leaves without explaining before Dragon gets to say a word. And Dragon just accepts it. Assuming he's the one getting dumped.
Either way, whatever might've happened can't have been good, can it
Also, considdering Garp is a fucking idiot (affectionate), and Luffy clearly inherited The Stupid from his grandfather, I would not be surprised if Dragon was also actually a bit of a himbo underneath that serious face he puts on (either that or Crocodile kept on smoking while pregnant)
Which could also turn what would otherwise be a tragic miscommunication into an absolute comedy if Crocodile and Dragon ever met again and the two realized that they're both idiots who jumped into conclusions and ruined their marriage by refusing to talk about their fucking feelings to each other. This is an absolute trainwreck of a family
But considdering the things Crocodile has done by this point*, would it ever even be possible for the two to reconcile?? Because, althought Dragon is pro-overthrowing corrupt governments especially if they're affiliated with the World Government, from what I can tell, he's still against unnececary violence (Vegapunk even comments that Dragon "hates war" in a flashback) and needless loss of life. And Crocodile caused just that.
*And I don't even mean the failed attempt at taking over Alabasta, I mean the drought Crocodile caused that caused countless people to starve to death and then caused the civil war which had already taken lives and permanently disabled people BEFORE the Strawhats ever even get to Alabasta. Like Crocodile's bomb may have been a dud but he still caused people to die for no reason, and I can't imagine Dragon being fine with that. But then again, Robin and other Baroque Works members also contributed to the loss of life and their sins have been neatly swept under the rug so IDK
And like. We don't know if Crocodile moonlighted as a Revolutionary for like 10+ years after Luffy was born and slowly went out of contact or if he just left immidiately. But theoretically, the two might not have even seen each other in like almost 20 years
That'd be a long time to carry a broken heart
How the fuck would you even heal from that
Also like
Crocodile did seem a little suicidal at Impel Down if I'm being honest
Like.
He had a dream of becoming Pirate King. But he lost to Whitebeard, and his dreams were ruined.
Dude had a master plan to take over a country that took him almost a decade to pull off, only for it to get wrecked in the final hour by a literal child.
His useless underlings then come and try to break him out of prison
And he chooses to stay
When we finally see his face for the first time in Impel Down... His mouth might be forming a smile, but those eyes aren't
And he even says it himself

"I didn't think there'd be anything for me to do if I were free"
Is it not like he has given up on life entirely..?
And sure, he does ask to be let out so he can get revenge on Whitebeard, but was it out of a genuine belief he could actually take down the old man or just a slightly more fun way to die than rotting away in prison for the next few decades?
You know the saying, "to be loved is to be changed"
Frankly, the same goes for the reverse. Being unloved, or believing yourself to be unloveable will change you. For the worse

One Piece Chapter 1113 - Initial Thoughts
Tumblr media
It is time
One Piece is back again and the big announcement is almost underway. The Gorosei are circling though, much of the Straw Hats are cornered, will the revelation turn the tide?
Let's find out
Spoilers for the Chapter, Support the Official Release too!
A chess-themed colour spread this time; Robin playing chess with the crew as chess pieces
Contrary to the message the King should not be the attacking piece but other than that I did find it funny that Usopp is a Bishop with a bow and arrow, this cleric does harm!
Also lil Chopper pawns!
Picking up where we left off, Markus Mars has been stopped in awe of a sight in Punk Records
The remains of Vegapunk's humungous brain, as big or maybe even bigger than a giant, kept in a pod and still working even after his death
Mars does wonder if this is more Vegapunk's true self, which I guess if it has his brain it's probably the main part that's biologically living
People around the world brace themselves though
Syrup Village! Kaya, Merry and the old Usopp Pirates get a cameo
Despite her wealth being enough for Kuro to plan a murder/retirement spree, they do not have a Video Den Den Mushi
Though it seems like it's more size than price, and Kaya is already keen to hear what Vegapunk is saying, given his role in the medical field
Also lil' Merry details on the Den Den Mushi
The Marines are monitoring it too
Laboon and Crocus cameo!
And we even get to go to Baldimore, birthplace of Vegapunk
Some dialogue from the group that found Franky during the separation too
'I heard he's turned himself into a ship now' XD because of the bounty poster, and the bad timeline SBS image maybe, though I still think we could in the future get a Sunny mecha
Also got Chopper's bird and medic island listening in
The tribespeople even know about Vegapunk, they call him a 'king of modern science'
Even despite the Garp and SWORD attack, some pirates from Fullalead are listening in - some still wanna fight each other though
Mars tries to stamp out the Den Den Mushi, but it's of course a fake! It shatters to reveal just another regular Den Den Mushi
Fooled again motherfucker!
Vegapunk does introductions once more but now everyone wants him to get on with it XD
For the most part the more obscure world shots seem somewhat familiar, I couldn't tell what the rainy place was but it could be Water 7, the other one looked a bit familiar, the Longarm place looks like to have Brook's old talent agents too
But this campfire one, a child is hushed back to sleep by their likely mother, they're in tipi tents, what's interesting is the other person there, almost like Oda's pulling something sneaky
Through their collective telepathy, Mars announces his failure, it was a decoy so they have no leads
They wonder what Vegapunk intends to say, fearing that he'll carry on what Clover started before he was silenced
Back to Sanji and he hears a woman's scream
Bonney is being targeted by V. Nusjuro, Franky standing between them but Sanji demands to be the white knight
He jumps off the sword to kick him in the jaw
By comparison V. Nusjuro is pretty damn huge
His body sets on fire - fitting to his Yokai lore - but then the horse's head comes out to bite Sanji
Lots of crackling of bones, I wonder if his Healing Factor is still a thing
As Oimo and Kashii tackle V. Nusjuro (about the same size as them), Vegapunk's broadcast begins, admitting to committing two grave sins
Bonney turns into a giant with her fruit to attack V. Nusjuro, who has returned to his hybrid form
Vegapunk's broadcast admits that he is likely to be executed, and that this broadcast would start when his heart has stopped
Sabaody reacts first, realising that this means Vegapunk is dead
Duval has trouble processing this, since the news said that he was a hostage for the Straw Hats
Caesar's also mad, he and Judge went through that whole cover story alliance for nothing, so now they can promptly fuck off
And Morgans is angry because Vegapunk is giving BIG NEWS without him like it's not in his name
Interestingly, Vegapunk is quick to state that his killers should not be portrayed as 'evil' - because they're looking pretty damn evil to me
It seems maybe this is because he expects Luffy to have been pinned as to blame for his death, though it could be scanlations saying 'him'
Saturn faces off with the Labophase group, demanding they move away
Saturn and Robin however recognize one another, Robin from his voice back in Ohara and Saturn by her image
Seems Saturn blames Akainu directly for Robin's escape, I mean he did blow up the hostage ship but still, there were more marines out there
He goes to attack Robin, so all the other Straw Hats go into protection mode
Brook cuts a few limbs, but worryingly Chopper blocked some with his Guard Point - those limbs are poisonous remember? Though it's impressive that he could suppress a claw that could go straight through Kuma
Nami also remembers that she can use Zeus to block attacks
Mars is still on recon, but his senses can't pick up any 'telepathic waves' - wonder if that's a Haki feat or something relative to the Gorosei's shared thoughts?
York is also having trouble figuring out where the Stella would've put it, since her position as a Celestial Dragon is on the line
Vegapunk's about to deliver his mission statement, which is putting the Gorosei into a panic
Mars considers blowing up the entire place, but Saturn and Warcury are weighing it against the possible losses; men, equipment, and any chance of recreating the Mother Flame
Wait. What?
"Our World...is going to sink into the ocean!"
Well you can't deny it: Global Warming is Real.
It's not just Water Seven and Aqua Laguna then, it's all going to sink, there's a lot of thematic consequences to that when you think about it.
Did the World Government ostracize the Fish-Men because of this? Knowing that they would inherit the world? Does this have any connection to Devil Fruits and why the Ocean really saps their strength? Did the ancient kingdom like Old Wano sink to the bottom of the sea?
It begets a lot of questions, in true Oda fashion.
The rest of the chapter was a lot more jam-packed than the last, even without Luffy. The carried tension of the announcement is followed by Saturn and V. Nusjuro's confrontations with the crew, giants and Bonney. As expected, Sanji took on V. Nusjuro, the hit didn't seem to do much in the long term as expected, though I kinda wish Franky also got a hit in but the extent of his own injuries is worth wondering.
I'm glad the Labophase crew are stepping up against Saturn, at least until the expected arrival of Zoro and Jinbe, but it does show their furthered growth versus Enies Lobby if they can successfully repel Saturn from Robin - her injury being validated by this scene, though I still wish we saw a flashback of the Straw Hats vs Seraphim and them uncovering York as the traitor.
Still it's bad PR from the Straw Hats either way, they're likely to be accused of killing Vegapunk, who was last deemed their hostage by the fake news machine (is Morgans still going to Egghead? I mean with Vivi with him we continue to tease a reunion), and while Punk Records still has a chance to live on this is definitely going to be something each crewmate will have to re-evaluate given the bigger picture. Still, that can come after getting off the island; Edison and the Sleeping Giant are still at play after all, Stussy still needs to release the barrier, it's looking more likely that we might finish up around 1120.
Still there has to be more to the announcement, if Vegapunk was waiting for a video display it means that there are visuals to corroborate his revelation - I wonder if the Gorosei are more open to this reveal coming out than what they expected with the Ancient Kingdom reveal they destroyed Ohara for? Like did Vegapunk dupe the WG into Buster Calling Egghead over a reveal they didn't care much for? He mentioned two grave sins too so there seems to be much more to his announcement than just the opening statement.

A friend recently started watching One Piece again and it opened my mind to talk abt headcanons
( especially usopp and sanji, fight me )
So...
One piece headcanon
We know usopp enjoy drawing for what was showed up to us back pré time skip right? ( it should be more done on screen, pls oda listen to me-) He has a scketbook but what if he just paint a WHOLE WALL OF SUNNY like a beautiful frame of the sea, sun or/and island, franky would definitely encourage him and luffy and chopper could try to "help" him sometimes.
Speaking of franky, i think his friendship with usopp is something so SUPER, they are bros and definitely can go of having a good time making some projects together and teaching each other to just tease the other, and franky gives all vibes of "big bro", he is watching usopp and is proud of him in ever step
BROOK - just him, this man skeleton deserves the screen, he is fucking soul king! Where are his fans? Why we haven't seen a room full of guitars and instruments? FOR ROGER he knows how to sing!!! A ARTIST as usopp, and they could share they interest on art and maybe pass the time on silence with brook playing smt and usopp drawing, franky could enjoy them!
Have i said usopp is a artist? Bc i'm to say it again! I don't just think he's interested in drawing, He also likes manual things just like Frank and have his plants, what do you think about SEWING, nami could know and teach him, or he already know bc he basically raise himself and teach HER. And then he makes his own clothes or sewn some draw on a piece of clothe, like a flower on pants ( luffy usually would ask him to save some of his clothes or make smt cool on his jacket )
Nami for me trys to be a big sis and end being a silly little gremlin, She likes pranks and likes play around ( not like luffy, but smart ) She calls Usopp to gossip, she likes garden, she likes to be spoiled bc she had to steal to survive. And most important, she can be realy introspective, she can just sit on the deck and feel the sun hitting her face and the sea breeze ruffling her hair and get lost in thoughts about the world.
Still nami she knows the basic of drawing ( I could say that she knows how to draw, but I want to believe that cartography requires much more mathematical knowledge than drawing beautiful ) and for that she can make fast decisions based on math, like physics? I dunno. The point for me is that she can visualize things well because she knows the basics of drawing and how to calculation. So if she view a obstacle or a alley she would know what to do to pass/get out. She makes parkour. And she's reasonably good at aiming.
Robin reads a lot, she knows things, she can know abt plants, do you know who could like talk abt plants? Chopper bc he is a doctor, usopp bc he uses them to survive, nami bc she likes her fruits, and BROOK bc i say so ( joking, he just likes tea ) maybe jinbe would like to tell abt sea plants? They all have a lecture or a casual meeting where they sit in a circle and talk for hours. ( luffy tries to participate but loses focus quickly)
Something says to me that Robin likes hats, I don't know why
Luffy has ADHD
Luffy can surprisingly practices yoga, he can have the calm if he wants and delight play with his body, This also helps him explore the rubber's capabilities and stretch for the morning
I think that since he was always walking around in the forest with ace anda sabo, he likes to walk. And explore obviously, but the sunny isn't the florest, he still can walk towards the ship, For some long times ( one day he walked in a circle on the ship's deck more than 20 times ) is common to see him just exploring sunny as it was for the first time, it is when he look all of his crew on each nock
Zoro has a very high metabolism. He sleeps a lot, eats a lot and trains a lot. But sometimes he just sits in the corner of the ship and looks at the swords or polishes them.
Because he know how to identify a good sword just by looking at the metal, he is also good at knowing if a piece of jewelry is worth what it says it is.
I feel like he likes walking barefoot and feel the earth under his feet. To me he is very touch of things but try to repress this
Sanji value his appearance, he HAVE TO take care of his hair properly! And soak feet in hot water with herbs sometimes.
He has a separate recipe book exclusively for things that are good for hair. Just in case
He have to use more glasses, mister prince have to return to us 😭 ( also i think bc his eyes are blue he is light sensitive )
He likes to cook, but not so much to eat.
He likes to share the kitchen, would never admit it, but the presence of someone else can bring him to the present ( he tends to dissociate ) - usopps is his most constant companion
He likes the draws, He admires people who can make art, like franky who makes big things, He finds these people smart for having the capacity, and robin who on his view is good at everthing if she wants
He likes to observe. It might look like he's just standing there looking at the girls in bikinis on the deck. But he is he's noticing how the shadow casts itself in a certain corner of the sunny And how brook seems to be telling smt abt music to luffy. For that he can notices if anyone gives sign of hungry
Robin is like a big sis to him. He respect her, of course he is like that with all ladies but with her is more... Specific? Maybe is her past, which he project smts, Her intelligence and how her mind seems to be a large library of knowledge. She is also a good listener and if she pushes in the right way, he can open up to her. He knows she's a solid presence you can trust, that gives him security. She also reminds him that he can be a jerk sometimes with just a look and a kind smile. He misses Reiju looking at her, both of them are smart and gently. And could kick his ass easily. What women ( a bit of myself speaking here lol)
I was thinking since jinbe, brook and robin are olders they like to hang out amd speak things more "mature". I think Jinbe anda robin enjoy delving into different cultures together. Franky and robin can talk abt anything, mainly from the ship's crew. (They are like Usopp and Nami, sometimes just gossiping. Sometimes Checking if everything is ok with the crew). I think I brook and jinbd would form a really good friendship, brook would speak abt laboon and jinbe act as listening to a father talk about his kid. He wouldn't complain. (Maybe he would talk a little about some of the kids on Fish-Man Island he met or any marine animal)
Luffy, usopp and franky have many scars on their hands. Zoro as well but not so much.
Chopper has a diary. For me, as a doctor he has to write down many things about his patients for future monitoring and records. It makes him enjoy writing. And since observing and looking for symptoms is also a function of doctors, He easily notice interesting details in human interactions. He not always understand what they mean.
He writes about all of the tribulations separately. In the corner of the nursery is there a shelf with a book for each of the Straw Hats, Containing everything from their medical data to how they act during the day. For example, he wrote about what a happy Luffy is like and what a Sad Day Luffy is like. (this is just a report of when he saw his captain collapse after something traumatic).
He may be a child, but he has an adult mentality. He would know how to deal with a "war scenario". This is what he does when everyone on the crew is hurt, he sets priorities and helps others to help themselves.
He and Robin are well organized and sometimes get together to establish an organizational method for something.
Could bring some of the customs from the island where he was born, For example, he has a tendency to drink certain hot drinks that remind him of home or wear winter clothes.
Jinbe and nami have some kind of father-daughter bond, He has a duty to himself to take care of her and it leaded him to find how strong and amazing she is, he praises her a lot without noticing. The first time nami tried not to be affected, but sometimes she needs to hear some praise and support. She might melt for the big heart of te "old man". ( how could someone hurt this fishman ? offend him and you will receive eye daggers )
Just like Sanji, Nami and Usopp like to take care of their hair properly. They like to try out hairstyles on each other or simply get ready in the same room.
We should appreciate Usopp's hair more. we were deprived of seeing these beautiful curls in the wind in a wild and beautiful way
Nami likes cats
Usopp likes dogs
Sanji thing he isn't good with children but like them - he likes birds
Zoro is followed by dogs often - dunno ( I think they just identify with the loyalty they feel coming from Zoro. After all, the dog is man's best friend.)
Luffy and usopp like to look for insects
Sanji, nami and BROOK hate them
Franky is a dog person
Robin is good with animals. Like a disney's princess
Jinbe talk with the sea smt
Chopper also tends to follow zoro

My current favourite crackship that I just created myself is Hiyori×Alive!Kuina. Just because if she can't get Zoro she'll just go for his cousin instead.
You're a genius. Your brain is huge. Please, let me kiss your brain. This is just amazing. I love lesbians. You're SO real-
Hiyori is easily one of my favorite characters and I love her SO much and people won't stop reducing her to her ship with Zoro. I think she doesn't need anybody and if she did want somebody it should be a girl. Because I say so. And Kuina is just,,, She would've been such a great character. Can't stop thinking about this fanart I found because it has changed my life for the better. She's in Wano to train to become the world's greatest swordsman and I'm just thinking about what if Kuina had been there to help them out too and she had been the one to save Hiyori all those times instead of Zoro.... Thinking thoughts. Like, of course, Hiyori and Zoro also have their moments because I do actually like their dynamic and I think she admires him a lot!! But you know. Kuina saves Hiyori a couple of times (when Zoro was going to do it, actually, she just appears like a second before him and ruins his moment) and Hiyori just melts. Because who wouldn't? Kuina would be so tall and strong and a sizeable woman, and I would personally die if she helped me save my country. Besides, I think they'd understand each other because both are women that have been reduced to that role specifically instead of their ambitions and their power and they're so much more. Hiyori was helpless when she had to see her country turn into this mess and she couldn't so anything else but to pretend,, Like-- If somebody knows how being a woman in the world works is Hiyori, and Kuina would understand. She'd admire Kuina so much for her abilities and her personality and ambitions!!!!!! And Kuina would absolutely love Hiyori's kindness and strength for being able to put up with so much!!!
Not to mention that Kuina would be taller than her,,, And bigger,,, And Hiyori would have to look up,, And this is now just the aesthetic part but God they'd look so different. That's Hiyori's guard dog. Wouldn't it be funny if Kuina were all serious and teasing with Zoro and like "*raises eyebrow* seriously?" type of masc girl, and the second Hiyori is around she turns into the happiest person in the world and extremely protective of her? Zoro judges her but he can't say shit because he's literally the same with Luffy (and Kuina teases him even more because she always has the upper hand and it makes him so angry). They're both down bad. Hiyori is just so nice to her and keeps saying she trusts her to become the world's greatest swordsman but even if she doesn't, she'll always have her heart and a place to stay in Wano. And I am weak, guys, I am so weak for lesbians.
Aghhh this is SO good. Somebody make them kiss. I- This is great. Oda could just say "ah yes Kuina actually escaped her hometown on her own and faked her death and traveled to Wano" and I'd believe him wholeheartedly because I want her back. I also want Hiyori back. I miss Wano sometimes a lot.
Also, Kuina sees Zoro with Enma and she goes:
Kuina: Oh cool, you got Hiyori's sword. Good luck with that one. Zoro: Do you want it or what? I am not giving it to you. You'll have to fight for it. Kuina: Nah, when I win our fight I want to win against the king of hell. Nothing less. Zoro: Where's the 'I can't win I'm a girl' bullshit now? Kuina: Stayed with the girl. Now I am a woman and I am going to beat your ass.
And Hiyori looking at them having the biggest lesbian moment in the world kicking her feet and blushing and Momo is next to her like "hehe you have a crush-" and he doesn't get to finish what he was saying because Hiyori hits him so fucking hard he faints. Don't tease her. Poor girl. She's in love, leave her alone.

Spoilers for One Piece post Marineford/Egghead
Hot take, but Monkey D Dragon is a little bitch.
Bro is the ~*Most dangerous criminal in the world*~ but does literally nothing????? Like what does he do??? He abandoned HIS OWN SON because “The child is a weakness” or some shit. M8 it’s been proven time and time again that fighting for something (especially family) MAKES A BETTER CREW
•Whitebeard
•Strawhats
•LITERAL PIRATE KING
“Oh but he just doesn’t have the time to raise a child!”
Okay dragon
Okay
Tumblr media
WHAT IS THIS
WHAT IS IT DRAGON
He says he wants to protect Luffy, but then sends him to live with Garp. Hoe that is NOT protection. “Oh he saved them from Smoker and Buggy” you mean the one Marine that actually cares about justice and the pirate they literally already defeated? So you can save him from Smoker but not your Croco ex-wife???? Bitch the lighting saved Luffy, not you.
SPEAKING OF WHICH *Pretend I smack a whiteboard right here*
MARINEFORD
WHERE WERE YOU
I literally looked it up and all I got was Reddit posts like nobody knows. So now I gotta ask, what is more important than Marineford?? Like especially to dragon.
•Iva is there (Fresh out of Impel Down)
•Kuma is there
•Luffy is there
•Whitebeard is there
•Multiple crews are all united to fight the government and broadcasted worldwide (SOUNDS GOOD FOR A REBELLION HMMM???)
•SON OF PIRATE KING
OH YEAH AND ALSO
•EVERY
•SINGLE
•ADMIRAL
DRAGON THIS WAS YOUR ONE CHANCE TO DO AS MUCH DAMAGE PHYSICALLY POSSIBLE TO THE WORLD GOVERNMENT OUTSIDE OF NUKING MARIEJOA. WHERE WERE YOU????
SPEAKING OF DRAGON NOT DOING SHIT.
Tumblr media
WHO IS THIS DRAGON. TELL ME
DO YOU REMEMBER HER YOU SWINE????
He really said “Ooooooohh nah we can’t saveeee her because uhhhh she can handle it or whatever”
YOU
DON’T
KNOW
THAT
Kuma, along with everybody else in this entire fucking organization ACTUALLY DOES.
Dragon is the only child of a Marine Vice Admiral, and compared to literally everyone else in the OP world, is extremely privileged. Bro was educated, always fed, and his father had a well respected and stable job. He doesn’t know jack shit about what Celestial Dragons do on the inside. Unless, of course, he *did* know how bad they were from Garp or smth (MEANING HE REFUSED TO SAVE HER KNOWING WHAT THEY’D DO) or unless he had spies in Mariejoa (IN WHICH CASE WHY DID HE NOT SAVE HER??) OR MAYBE HE COULD USE THE ONE PERSON WHO
• CAN TELEPORT ANYWHERE
• KNOWS THE LAYOUT OF MARIEJOA’S SLAVE SYSTEM
• WANTS TO SAVE HER DESPERATELY
MAN IS TAKING LEAPS AND BOUNDS TO ABANDON THIS WOMAN FOR WHAT PURPOSE? ONE OF HIS FRIEND AND ALLIES (Kuma) HAS LOST SOMEBODY VERY IMPORTANT. I’ve seen people make connections with Luffy and Vivi but that’s a whole different thing bcz Luffy both A) wants to save her and B) knows she’s not with celestial dragons.
Now I hate him, post Kuma backstory I hate him more for what he did to my girl. But I also know that a lot of this stuff is still undetermined. Oda has a knack for making me love character within a very small amount of chapters. I’m open to liking this guy, but everything he’s done so far is annoying me to hell. If Iva trusts him, I trust him for now, but DAYM all this guy does is stare East at the kid he abandoned and his maybe dead probably trans ex-wife.

you say you have a "hope that sanji dies" cuz you love tragedy - do you have any specifc thoughts or plot hopes to expand on that?
disclaimer: i mean this in just all good fun speculation or wishes cuz honestly we aint oda so who knows bruh 🤷‍♀️
like, the way i see it, him dying wouldnt just make wci 1000 times worse in retrospect, but i cant see it not utterly devestating luffy considering... well, luffys everything.he literally says he cant become pirate king without sanji! i mean, i guess oda could play it off as a honorable battle death or 'dying as yourself' but it could also go the 'you cant save everyone' route? kinda like ace, but a little to the left?
and if you bring in the possible discord amongst the crew of the death pack with zoro, it just creates even more problems beyond 'oh fuck whos gunna feed luffy'. we're talking water seven usopp leaves levels of discord
(....also why do sanji girlies like hurting him so? pudding, i have more in common with u than i thought)
My biggest thing with it is... Sanji's thing is worth, right? He thinks if he mutates and loses his emotions, Luffy won't want him, so he may as well die.
But, with the death pact he made with Zoro, what about ZORO.
Zoro hasn't said it out loud, but one of his biggest fears is obviously losing a crewmate - it's losing a loved one. He never wants to lose someone like he lost Kuina again. This feels very obvious to me, and it's why he fights to the extent he does.
So? I want Sanji to mutate, and I want the death pact to happen, because I want Zoro to hit a wall.
To never lose again, to be the greatest swordsman, WHAT must he sacrifice? To carry out a promise to his friends, to both Kuina AND Sanji, is this really worth it? Is this the right thing to do to reach his goals, and to go through with a promise?
Is it worth taking out a crewmate?
And then of course, for Sanji, if Zoro says he can't do it, he just can't kill Sanji, imagine how much that will make Sanji realise...he IS valuable, he HAS worth, no matter HOW he ends up. So what if he turns into a cold, unfeeling soldier? That's still Sanji, he's still somewhere in there, and Zoro dropping his sword would truly make Sanji realise that.
OR it can go the other way, and the death pact will go through - where Sanji can die happy, and Zoro can fulfill his friend's promise.
This is why it's so interesting that the death pact is SPECIFICALLY between those two. Because I'm not saying Zoro values Sanji over any other Strawhat - of course he doesn't. What I'm saying is, Sanji's situation is so specific to his being and emotions, and he KNOWS Zoro takes promises to heart.
I'm so so so SO interested to see if this death pact will EVER go through. There's so much that could happen with it, so even if Sanji dies or not? Fingers crossed!

Best Man-Tits of One Piece - Round 3!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Submitters' motivations under the cut.
Motivations for submitting Zoro:
110cm. Do I need to say anything more?
This man’s tits are super natural. He has big thick tits!!! Even bigger then Robbins tits. You can recognize him from his tits alone.
His massive honkers are one of his most talked about features
Hhhhhhh tibbiez 110cm am looking with sooooo much respect i swear 😳😳🥵🥵
His tits are so perfect, even Toei couldn’t help but dedicate a scene to them. Wano has been especially kind to his boobs, giving them all the love and plumpness they deserve.
I dont think Oda realized how fucking massive 110 cm tits are. I don’t think he realized what he said on that fateful sbs. Not that it isn’t 110% accurate to the way he draws Zoro, but 110 is an insane measurement. Those are the second biggest set of naturals on the Grand Line. 110. How am I supposed to fit them in my mouth.
Second biggest canon tits. 110cm people, 110cm!
Booba….
I wanna bury my face in them. They look so big I wonder if I can just melt into them.
Look at his tits!!!!! holy shit they look so amazing, i just wanna bury my face in them and squeeze. sahkdhaksj everytime i see him come on screen, i want to squeeze like a stress ball. plus oda said his tits is 110cm 😋 so squishyyyy
THEY TWITCHED
Because Oda said so. Don’t fight God
They even made them dance in the anime
Motivations for submitting Ace:
Tits so sweet they had to be obliterated to usher in the coming of the pirate king
He always has them out. Never has a shirt on. Honestly idk if he really knows what a shirt is
Alabasta Ace, Marineford Ace, Wano Ace all have different tits because of the art style but all are *Chef kiss*
Hi. So. Ace always has his knockers out meaning that he knows that they are great. They are on display and always look nice in the sunlight. With knockers out like that, I am proud to say that Ace has AMAZING boobies
His tits are fucking perfect, very squeezable, plus he goes around shirtless just so we can ogle him. Even at his execution he was showing the goods and boy they looked great.

OP Chapter 1081 Spoilers
Okay now that the official translation is out I have so much to say ;;;;;
Yes it’s going to all be about Law and the Heart Pirates, I am DEVASTATED
Other people have said it too, but the thing that really gets me is just how much Law can NOT catch a break and keeps ending up losing or nearly losing what matters most to him AND HE’S NOT EVEN TRYING TO GET THE ONE PIECE !! Outside of knowing what it is, I mean. He’s not trying to be the strongest, or the king of the pirates, or become an emperor of the sea. He just wants to know about the history behind the origins of his name and what secrets the World Government goes to such lengths to hide from the world. This man’s new purpose in life now that he helped take down Doflamingo is to figure out who he is and why it seems like he keeps being kept alive; To try to figure out who he is or what those who came before him believe he represents. It’s just that his pursuit after the secrets of the world’s history keeps putting him in the path to collide with the most dangerous people in the world!
What he wants more than anything however- what we’ve seen time and time again- is keeping his crew safe. They are his family, the Polar Tang was his HOME. This man has already lost his place in the world TWICE. Has lost those he’s considered family TWICE. And even though I believe- I HAVE to believe- the Heart Pirates will ultimately be okay, Law thinks he’s left them to die. And my god thank goodness for Bepo because Law would have absolutely gotten captured or killed by Blackbeard and BB or any of his crew getting the Ope Ope no Mi would be SO CATASTROPHICALLY BAD!
Law didn’t even pick a fight with this man!! He didn’t initially want to fight Blackbeard! They were just coming out of fighting against Big Mom an Kaidou, Law during which was like ‘the things one has to do just to learn about history!’ (Though yes, I do think Law cared about helping the people of Wano. He is a kind person and a doctor after all). BUT when we first see the Heart Pirates in their run-in with Blackbeard THEY’RE TRYING TO ESCAPE! Law didn’t want to get his crew in that fight!!! But when it was obvious there was no getting away he did what he does best and went into strategy mode to guide his crew through the fight. If they were going to be forced into a battle against Blackbeard and his crew, might as well take the information from the poneglyphs he has. To at least maybe have this be a step towards his goal.
But the last thing he wants, the thing he fears more than anything, is putting his crew into danger. This man is ready to sacrifice himself for their safety at every turn. And then he has his ship destroyed. He cannot even use his powers to save his crew from being stranded deep under water, (some of them) likely to drown if BB’s crew don’t get to them first. Bepo has to get Law out of there by force not just because Law is severely injured and thoroughly drained of energy from his fight against Blackbeard, but also because Law would absolutely get himself killed to save even one of his crewmembers. To not lose another family member.
I am so pained to see the Polar Tang destroyed. Again, I have to believe at least a number of the Heart Pirates are okay, but my god I hope Oda gives this poor boy a break?! I don’t know if Law and Kid are going to meet up, or if Law will get the Pluton now that his own ship is destroyed (and maybe Law is back on a revenge track) or if it’ll be through Law that stumble upon who this ‘man marked by flames’ is, but MY GOD I hope Law gets to have a happy ending. It would be so fucking heartbreaking if after all he’s been through, after all he’s lost, after all this time of just trying to keep those he cares about the most safe and to know why he’s still alive, he dies or loses everything once more. If he meets his end sacrificing himself or dying before he gets to live the life of freedom and happiness Corazon died to give him I am going to be RUINED.
A small part of me wants Luffy/The Straw Hats to find out what BB did to Law and go APE SHIT, but more than anything I just want Law to finally find happiness and the ACTUALLY KEEP IT!!! Stop having his crew/family taken away from him!!! This man has already had so much tragedy in his life he doesn’t need any more!
I do not know if this is Oda building up to a defeat for the Straw Hats as well, Luffy and Zoro being members of the worst generation like Kid, Killer, and Law or if this is Oda emphasizing that Luffy is on the level of the other Yonkos now and on a different level than Kid and Killer. The Straw Hats already had a moment of major defeat in Sabaody and Luffy has been built up so much for coming end-game fights against the World Government, Shanks, and Blackbeard that I’m inclined to believe Egghead isn’t going to end horribly for them, but this truly is the first time since catching up that I am so scared/anxious to know what’s going to happen next and I just do not know what direction Oda is going in.

TBScans for Chapter 1097 are out!
Kuma's Flashback continues for another chapter, as we get to see his early adult life and joining the Revos. Also...
Tumblr media
I think this is the first cover where it actually kinda represents whats inside the actual chapter. It's a request page but Oda did get it to connect which is very nice.
So anyway, Kuma, as it turns out, is one of the most generous souls in One Piece. Guy becomes the towns Pastor and uses his fruit to take the pain of others onto himself, much to Ginny's concern. Many old and ill people live in the part of the Sorbet Kingdom Kuma is from.
Apparantly the Sorbet Kingdom is struggling to meet the Celestial Tribute, and the new King is, shocking absolutely no one, an absolute fucking bastard.
Ginny want's to get married to Kuma, but Kuma himself is hesitant. Not because he doesn't love Ginny, he absolutely does, but because he doesn't want her and their child to get persecuted by the Celestial Dragons over being Buccaneers. also the two kids Kuma helped who later joined Bonney's crew are apparantly friends with Kuma and Suitors to Ginny.
Shitass King apparantly decided that the slave trade was to profitable to pass up, especially since Slaves dont count as citizens for the celestial tributes taxes, and said "Anyone on the Southern Half of the Isle is a Slave." Apparantly most people... really hated this decree, but the King is chill about it saying that they'll eventually grow to see the Southern Half as vermin. Kuma gets arrested attacking the Slavers and Ginny and his friends get arrested trying to break him out.
Well, Becori is both a Celestial Dragon Puppet and soon meets a very different kind of Dragon.
Tumblr media
Ivankov and Dragon were having none of this shit, got rid of the King, and free Kuma and Ginny who both join the Freedom Fighters, now Revolutionary Army. Dragon was apparantly a former Marine who unlike every other "Good" Marine went "WTF Why am I working here"
Everything seems well enough but at the very end Ginny gets Kidnapped. And next chapter we will likely get to see Kuma's life come crashing down around him.
