i'd read several people saying that this chapter sucked and that the end was bullshit so i was a little scared at what had happened but...

i literally don't understand how someone could be upset by this...?? i feel like this outcome has been heavily implied throughout the entire arc. like, just a few chapters ago, bonney used a technique very similar to one of luffy's. are we reading the same manga? lol

and from a storytelling standpoint, it's just so poetic. both of bonney's parents suffered and ultimately died (we still need confirmation on kuma, tho) at the hands of the WG. she, herself, fell terminally ill because of saturn's human experimentation. she carried a lot of unresolved trauma, and now that she's met luffy, she's starting to overcome it all. kuma told her that nika would free her, and it's happening!! how could anyone complain about this?

and to say that this undermines luffy's journey and efforts to awaken his df... please. we still don't know if she's gonna have a quarter of luffy's power if anything at all. stop assuming things just off of one panel. time will tell. for now, i very much like this concept, and i'm excited to see what oda will do with this in the future. he's never disappointed me, so far, when it comes to the story. i don't see why he would now.

okay im sorry but. 1098 is just way too much for me to drop a review on it. been trying to work on it for a bit and every time i try it just turns out horrendous. this chapter broke me man. i can't give my thoughts on it coherently 😭

Am I the only who gets kinda triggered when Ginny, Bonney, and Kuma get portrayed as a happy loving family?

Not that I don't WANT them to be happy, but the problem I have is that it completely ignores the fact that Bonney is a RAPE BABY.

It reduces Ginny to just being a mother to Bonney, and wife to Kuma. WHile ignoring the fact that Bonney was FORCED UPON HER AGAINST HER WILL. No one wants to address the trauma that would have on Ginny because they don't want to acknowledge the grim reality of the situation in favor of they so-called "nothing-bad-happens-au". (Which is ironic, considering that Ginny HAS to be captured and RAPED in order for Bonney to exist at all)

RAPE IS NOT SOMETHING TO BE BRUSHED UNDER THE FUCKING RUG. IF YOU DO ANY AU WHERE GINNY SURVIVES YOU BETTER FUCKING ADDRESS, YOU SICK FUCKS!!

Chapter 1100 - Initial Thoughts

this chapter was SO DAMN CUTE AND WHOLESOME IN THE MOST PAINFUL WAY ISTG. ESPECIALLY THIS PANEL. HE'S USING BONNEY'S DRAWING AS HIS JOLLY ROGER 😭😭😭 Kuma is literally so caring it's painful. everything about this backstory makes me feel pained. he's even making sure to keep writing letters to Bonney... HE'S SACRIFICING HIS HUMANITY AND AUTONOMY TO SAVE BONNEY HOW COULD YOU NOT CRY.

LOOK AT THEM HAVING A COOL PIZZA PARTY.. it hurts so much to see everyone so happy.. and even Kizaru!! i love one piece so much i can't even.. i wish all these characters could keep this happiness forever 😭😭😭 AND THEY'RE DOING THE NIKA DANCE TOO IT'S SO PURE AND FUN

i know i've said it enough but Kuma is the DEFINITION of a good dad. the way he cares for Bonney is heartbreaking and this man is just. man. i feel like crying again idk why 😭
