Anyway, happy Ides of March, tumblr. I am about as enthusiastic about the celebration as Neil Gaiman is, but here we are. Doing what I do worst, making a summary of things I have no authority to summarise... WAHOO LET'S GO. Whatever it is I know about the play:

Caesar was vibing sometime around the '40s. 0040s, not 1940s.

He has a wife named Calpurnia. A maggot wants to be her because and I quote 'no one ever listens to me either'.

She tells him not to go to some kind of coronation or speech or something on the Ides. He's like nah wifey 'sall gucci.

I regret saying that sentence. As did Caesar, because he went and got stabbed in 44. Spoiler alert.

People ship Mark Antony with Caesar but some ship Brutus and Caesar. *youtuber voice* Comment below with your favourite ship.

Don't do it I don't want to know. Anyway, he's also married to Cleopatra, who is killed by snake venom that may not have been snake venom or something.

Idk they were cute. They had a kid that ran away and Asterix and Obelix had to take care of him. Caesarian?

WAIT IS A C-SECTION CALLED A CAESARIAN BECAUSE YOU CUT IT OPEN AND CAESAR WAS STABBED? WHAT?

There is a soothsayer. He tries to soothwarn Caesar.

Caesar does not soothlisten. Caesar is a lil bitch.

On the Ides of March, Caesar goes up to the soothsayer who is lurking on the steps of the maybe-coronation place. He soothsays The Ides of March are come!

The soothsayer soothsighs and soothsays Aye, Caesar, but not gone.

The senators, otherwise known as the soothslayers, have been plotting for a while. Brutus is a very dear friend of Caesar. He thinks Caesar slays.

But the other senators convince him this is what's best for Rome. So he thinks Caesar should be slayed.

So now the soothslayers at the maybe-coronation gather around Caesar and start stabbing him. Et tu, Brute? and all that (though I remember something about that phrase not meaning the same thing as it does in popular context...).

The soothslayers are a bit extra. Like bro. One stab to the heart would have soothsufficed.

Anyway, Caesar is soothslayed like the soothsayer soothsaid.

There is a funeral thing. The People of Rome are cranky.

A maggot once said Moots, maggots, countrymen! and it lives rent-free in my head.

Anyway what Mark Antony actually says is a whole ass speech. FRIENDS, ROMANS, COUNTRYMEN, LEND ME YOUR EARS. I COME TO BURY CAESAR, NOT TO PRAISE HIM! THE EVIL THAT MEN DO LIVES AFTER THEM, THE GOOD IS INTERR'D WITH THEIR BONES (I THINK I HAVEN'T HEARD THE SPEECH IN A WHILE OK) SO LET IT BE WITH CAESAR.

So he gives the soothspeech and everyone is emotional. IF YOU HAVE TEARS, PREPARE TO SHED THEM NOW. Damn bro. It's like playing villain music just as the camera focuses on the villain.

Anyway then there is a lot of chaos and blah blah blah Mark Antony does some stuff Caesar's adoptive son Octavian does some stuff.

There's some bloke named Augustus who may or may not be Octavian (if he was sorry for the deadname Auggy my bad).

Brutus is killed? Or he kills Mark Antony? One of them die.

They were totally not fighting over who was a better lover to Caesar.

Roman Republic gone byebye as I say to Roxie. Roman Empire starts. The end.

Er.

That was a thing. I rather like summarising my homeboy Shakespeare haven't read him in a while and I only read his comedies. Maybe I should do more in honour of the Globe Theatre Maggots.

Can we see the kids you mentioned in past posts

This is Rose, Gabby and Sophie's daughter. She loves Halloween and often gets into spooky antics with her best friend Augustus Wonder who goes by the nickname Auggie (Auggie is Skid and Pump's adopted son). She tends to question Auggie but trusts in his decisions as they haven't gotten them killed or possessed yet. She's friends with the Hatz polycule kids and Lizzie's twin children too, but her best friend out of all of them is Auggie. She is 7 years old.

This is Auggie. He has a nasty habit of summoning demons and other supernatural beings with his grandpa's old occult stuff that Skid just won't throw away despite being the one who's often possessed by the things his son summons. Auggie has heard the stories of his dads' old adventures when they were his age and wants to make memories like that with his friends and often takes things into his own hands to make sure those memories happen. His fathers don't mind him doing this, but they want him to stop summoning things in their house. Auggie is 8 years old.

This is Ollie, Charlie and Hannah's son. His cousins babysit him regularly but often likes being held by Rose because she smells like flowers and he finds that comforting. He is only a few months old but it is clear that he likes spooky things like his parents because when given the choice, he will choose the bat onsie that his dad bought for him. He's calm and doesn't really cry unless his cousins, Auggie and Rose are all freaking out or he's hungry.

This is Maya, Ember and Felix. Maya is the bio child of Roy and Sally but they and the rest of their siblings will refer to Robert, Ross, Roy, Sam and Sally as their parents. Maya is 13 and goes by They/Them pronouns. Maya had a worse gender crisis than Roy did when they were trying to figure out what they were. Maya is often relaxed and goofs off often but can be serious when they want to be. Ember is Sam and Sally's bio daughter and is 12 years old. Ember is the most charismatic of her siblings and was quite the troublemaker when she was little, Ember does have a temper that as inherited from Sam but she rarely gets mad because she's very patient. Felix is Roy and Ross' bio son and is 11 years old but looks way younger because he was cursed with Roy's shortness. Felix is the most quiet child in the family but had his moments where he's quite loud.

This is Edmund, Faith and Aiden. Edmund is the bio son of Roy and Robert and is 9 years old. Edmund has the nicknames of Eddie and Ed, his full name is only used when his siblings or parents need to get his attention. Edmund is also the most chill out of his siblings. Faith is the bio daughter of Sam and Ross and is 6 years old. Faith doesn't talk much and when she does it's blunt and straight to the point, she's also going through a picky eater phase. Aiden is the bio son of Sam and Robert and is 4 years old. Aiden is a troublemaker but is also responsible when he wants to be.

This is Wilhelmina and Octavian, but they prefer Billie and Otto. They were named by their father, their mother Lizzie didn't like their names at first but grew to like them as time went on. Billie loves fantasy and often gets called a fantasy nerd by Otto. Billie can and will be dramatic. Billie isn't the smartest person but she can have her moments of brilliance when push comes to shove. Otto is a horror nerd, in particular he likes clown related horror, hence his costume. Otto likes seeing things go down hill if it doesn't hurt him, his friends or his family. Otto is quite smart for his age, often the one making the action plan for capturing whatever Auggie summons if it breaks loose and posseses someone (which it often does). Otto holds the title of scariest kid in the friend group. Billie and Otto are both 7 years old.

It has been sometime since he felt that... useless, unimportant. Since Octavian adopted Auggie he got a new purpose and although he wasn't the best dad ever and still needed to learn a lot he never felt like that.

He always did his best when it was about Auggie, but now, after watching the Cabin 7 take care of her all afternoon his best seemed so bad.

They didn't even come close to being as nervous with her as he was. They didn't seem to have any problem explaining things to her. They didn't have any problem understanding her and Auggie was having the time of her life with them.

Octavian felt like a failure. Auggie deserved the best and for the first time he realized how far he was from that.

He sat in the grass, trying the hardest he could to do not cry.

A bad father.

Octavian closed his eyes trying to do not let his emotions get the best of him.

He stayed that way for gods know how much time. His entire body was hurting. The sky was dark, it was already night. He problaby fell asleep. When he looked around, Auggie was sleeping near him. This time he cried.

His daughter was sleepig peacefully, with a smile at her face, holding one of his teddy bears. His stomach growled and Auggie woke up.

"Dad!!" She sounded so happy. She scratched her eyes.

Octavian smiled, his face full of tears.

"You're awake!!" She was looking for something while she was talking "Here, I made a drawing for you. Aunt Kayla helped me. Look, here there is you, than me, than a lot of stuffed animals and... Dad are you crying?"

Auggie got scared.

"Are you okay? Are you hurt?"

She climbed into his lap and hugged him.

"I'm fine. I'm fine now"

He hugged her back, and kissed her forehead.

Maybe he wasn't that bad afterall.

So, this is the baby the camp was gossiping about Alabaster thought. The baby looked pretty normal, and of course she was dressing like a teddy bear. Alabaster let himself thought about where the baby had come for the first time. He blushed, but he didn't know if why. Was it jealousy? Embarrassment? Anger?

"So, how did the baby inv..."

"Her name is Auggie, not the baby"

Octavian'd voice was cold when he interrupted Alabaster.

"Right"

Alabaster decieded to reformulate the question.

"How did you get Auggie?" The next words hurt more than he thought they would "Some secret girlfriend?"

Octavian blushed and seemed surprise.

"NO! I just found her in front of my door."

Alabaster sighed in relief. He didn't realize how the subject bothered him until that moment. He looked to Octavian's face that was still blushing. He opened a little smile when the idea came to his mind.

"If you dating the non existent girl got you Auggie, what do you think you would get dating me? Another baby? The thing that makes babies?"

Octavian looked to Alabaster with almost the same hatred face he usually only used with Jackson. He had put his hands in Auggie ears.

For some time Alabaster listened to Octavian curse him at the same time he gave a speech about decency.

He’s the stylist no one really cares about, but we have to report on him. The only thing we see is his continued lack of commitment to Auggie and still hanging around a certain avox? What is it about this guy? He doesn’t even have good hair.

So anyways:

Auggie was 4 when Drew first babysat her. It was upon Octavian’s request and Drew immediately agreed. They share a really sweet sisterly bond.

It didn’t take them long to bond with another. By the second week Auggie had already started considering Drew as an older sister.

She calls Drew Noona <3

One thing Drew loves is dressing up with Auggie. She has an amazing fashion sense and always picks out Auggie’s clothes (who loves it). They often wear matching clothes.

She even styles Auggie’s hair. Makes sure Auggie looks her best for school or any occasion. Drew also took the time to teach Octavian how to braid and style hair.

Other fun things they both like to do is karaoke at home. Once they got too hyped and ended up breaking one of the cabinets, since then Drew had to tone down the death metal music. They also like baking together, which ends up in flour throwing fights and getting smeared with icing.

Picnics every Sunday in the strawberry fields. They go berry picking and make jam. Then in the end they lay down a blanket and have a ton of tasty stuff. Auggie would be drawing and Drew would tell her stories about her time at camp or about her future plans.

Drew also taught Auggie some basic Japanese. Much to Octavian’s dismay because Drew takes advantage of it:

Drew: Auggie! Tell your dad the word I taught you

Auggie: papa! Bakajanaino :D

Tav:

Tav: What are you teaching my daughter?

Drew: *hysterical laughter*

Auggie: Kuso :D

Tav: DREW!!??!!

Since Drew is basically a sister figure she makes sure to help Auggie with understanding “lady stuff” and basically explains about puberty. Since Octavian is trans in my Au he could’ve also helped Auggie but he was absent for a long time (from age 6 Till Auggie was 10) and Drew took it upon herself to help Auggie with it.

Drew officially became Auggie’s godmother when the lil wind spirit turned 12.

How does Auggie feel about the Greeks? Has she helped changed Tav's opinions about them?

Yay first ask of the blog :D!!!!!!!

Ok so if we go by the timeline of this post

Auggie was quite little during the war arc and of course didn’t have any knowledge about the Greeks/Romans war and that her dad was the one who initiated the conflict. To her she just hated “Greg” (and she didn’t even know who this Greg was)

So basically she was raised during the period of peace and friendship between the two camps. In fact she was actually temporarily raised in CHB by the Apollo cabin while Octavian was getting therapy. She came to love camp half blood and later started living there for most of the summers while Tav was away getting treated.

She was never an Apollo kid but they made her one of the cabin 7 members. She grew up in a healthy and happy environment. And she got along with all the Greeks. She occasionally visited CJ during exchange programs or field trips.

So Tav actually went through his trial in CJ after all his treatment was over. Despite the severity of his crimes, he got off a lighter sentence cuz of his mental state and his daughter (who found out the truth and basically fought everyone to give Tav another chance). So he was then exiled from CJ instead. Tho he was still welcome in CHB. He chose not to indulge himself with the camp since he still had his hate left in his heart. Mostly he was just terrified of them now.

So now Auggie had a REALLY BIG impact on Tav getting over his hate and fear. Despite it taking a long time, it was worth it.

How did she help? Well:

First thing was she cleared out whatever rumours there were about the Greeks. Octavian believed in a ton of lies and Auggie had tried to convince him.

Auggie had lived a very happy life in CHB and was basically raised by the Greeks when Tav wasn’t there for her. The Greeks didn’t care who her father was, they took her in as their own and how everyone treated her normally.

She would tell Octavian about all the adventures she had and all the fun during the Greek VS Roman capture the flag games. And how the Apollo cabin had treated her as their own despite her not being a demigod.

Despite whatever Octavian did he was still welcome at CHB. Mainly cuz it’s help the father and daughter reconnect after their lost years.

A lil twist comes here (because i love myself a good and irrelevant plot twists hehe 🤪).

it turns out that Auggie was actually a GREEK wind spirit. And that Octavian basically raised and loved a Greek all this time. How did they find out? She was actually claimed in CHB but not as a demigod but actually as one of the resident magical creatures. So that was a real big shocker.

So in the end he ended up changing his mind. He still was a bit iffy but he wasn’t going to bother himself with the Greek stuff cuz now his main priority was to raise and protect Auggie.

So they lived pretty decent lives…if we ignore the occasional:

Tav: So you have more Greek friends than Roman?

Aug: DAD!!!

Tav: What??? Just saying that there should be a balance in friends

Aug: Papa I will take away your “#1 Dad mug” I gave you when I was 4 and give it to Auntie Reyna.

Tav: No Way!! Auntie Reyna won’t get shit! I’ve had this for 10 years!! *sips from said mug*

Aug: Sooooo. You’re ok with my friends...right?

Tav: *sigh* yeah yeah…as long as you’re happy…

Aug: :D

They are at the zoo and Auggie really loves the giraffe and asks Tav to buy a real one for her.

Tav says no but Al agrees, and Tav’s like: “you better not use your hocus pocus to steal that giraffe”

Al: Oh don’t worry I won’t! *proceeds to wink and Auggie*

Auggie: *understood what that means and smiles*

So the next day Tav goes down to the kitchen to get some morning coffee only to see Auggie riding a green figment of a giraffe which Al made using his magic while he is taking pictures.

And then Octavian proceeds to loose 10 years of his life span.

​on the other hand Octavian constantly buys really expensive things for August and for her future. And Al’s like… “this bar of soup costs about same as a Lamborghini”

Tav: Not really, the car was cheaper
