Ocean Colour Scene - Marchin’ Already (RSD2018).......Now I wasn’t going to get anymore than the two I got from this years RSD. But then I saw the listings for some leftovers on a local site and couldn’t resist the urges. As far as this band is concerned I don’t even like them that much. In fact I don’t even own their best album ‘Moseley Shoals’ so why did I even purchase this? For whatever reasons I own it now and have been spinning it few times and believe it or not it isn’t that bad. I actually enjoy few tunes on this album, maybe I’m making justifications for buying this....but really it’s not all that bad! Ocean Colour Scene: Marchin Already (Exclusive Record Store Day 2018 release,2 LP 180 gram vinyl, gatefold sleeve, printed inner bags, UMC, 2018)

Released in late 1997, Marchin Already was the follow-up to the highly successful Moseley Shoals. The band’s back catalogue, which they’d built up since forming several years earlier, was used to form the album.

I absolutely loved Ocean Colour Scene when they were at the height their Britpop success. They fell off my radar after One from the Modern was released in 1999, which I quite enjoyed despite being hammered by critics.

This Record Store Day release has me falling in love with their sound all over again. Plus the production isn’t too shabby: the tracks don’t sound overly compressed or limiter processed; leaving the dynamics natural and open.

It’s 1997 all over again!
