Y'know what I think would be hilarious for a DP and PJO crossover? Percy & co finally getting to Kronos, straight up ready for anything after they pass through magic and portal of green and-

There's the smell of cookies. Freshly baked cookies, a warm oven, something about it reminding them of home in this strange place of floating gears and ticking clocks.

And there's a long, serpentine tail twisting through the gears, twisting up and down and across in a size that could hides yet reveals just how large this entity is. There's power soaking into every inch of this place, every centimeter nearly sending lightning up their legs with each step.

The ticking is getting stronger, a distant gonging of the hour echoing through a place that should feel cold and empty like the ringing of bells in the end of times.

And suddenly there's a kid- a teen like them, human yet not- with a cookie half in their mouth and hair flickering like the cosmos as they peer down from above them with a frown, eyes brighter than the sun yet darker than the moon.

"Oh great, what did my half-siblings do this Time?"

Shining Nikki photoshoots are like studio photoshoots, where you have full control over the background, environment, model's pose and expression, and even the wind. Infinity Nikki is like when you're on family vacation trying to get nice photos at sightseeing spots. Your model won't stop moving, you can't control the wind or the position of the sun, and if you take too long with the photo, either the dramatic wind stops blowing or someone walks past your lens. Oh, and you can take mid-blink unglams too.

Time to beat a dead horse:

I’m so tired of villains in superhero movies (and outside of those, let’s not forget) having environmental concerns behind their horrific crimes.

A few examples: Carlton Drake from Venom, Ocean Master from Aquaman, and the aliens from Peacemaker. (I think Ra’s Al Ghul from Batman Begins also had somewhat environmental concerns (not 100% but I’m gonna include it), and while I don’t watch Marvel, I believe Thanos also had a similar reasoning??) We see the same thing in Tenet, but as a non-superhero film.

If these movies painted these characters as extreme environmentalists but showed a more realistic approach and characters, then this wouldn’t be an issue, honestly. I think that could be a really powerful and impactful portrayal of climate anxiety and the incorrect concept that “we are doomed and there is nothing we can do and the world is gonna end!”

But they don’t. The villains in these stories try to destroy the world in order to save it but commit crimes in environmentalism’s name. The hero, or good guys, come in, foil the bad guy’s plans, and save the day. Yay! All without addressing the concerns the villain had, all without doing anything of substance. The hero gets to walk away looking cool while the villain cries in the background.

This creates a certain image of environmentalists. These are films seen by kids (maybe except Tenet), and what message are we sending them? If you don’t believe that people are walking away from these movies with the idea that caring for the environment equals batshit crazy people doing horrible things, just read this bizarre and horrible opinion piece from The Washington Post.

On top of being a very very bad no good writing concept, it’s also just incredibly lazy. Why can’t these villains have more nuanced backstories and motivations? A person having tangible and good cause but doing bad things because their judgment is misplaced can be a great writing device for antagonists and villains!! But this is not the way to do that. This is not the way to create a layered bad guy.

This trend majorly hurts the effort that a lot of people around the world are trying to make. This rhetoric is harmful and utterly stupid. I can talk a lot more about this but I’ll stop here.

 What happens after a Halfa dies? What happens when their bodies of flesh can no longer hold the power of their soul? What happens when they’re no longer alive despite the fact they can never truly die?

 What happens when their soul finishes incubating in its cocoon of meat and bone that’s warped and twisted over an immeasurable amount of time? When the soul leaves a body that refuses to stay down because death is not an option? 

 What happens when a Halfa finishes incubating in their first form, and splits? What happens when mortals not understanding what they’re doing in their hubris, causes one to do so early?
