Danny squirms and hisses, trying to dig his claws into dark scales as the clouds whistle by. “Wait- Ancients dammit- STOP!” he shrieked, cursing how tiny his own ghost form was compared to his other not-quite-future-self. Wings that could easily dwarf the entire Ops center beat through the air, fast enough to cause his eyes to sting. 

“Dan- bring me back- stop-” he wailed, despite the grip on his scruff not even loosening. Yet the larger dragon didn’t so much as twitch back towards Amity, the city disappearing into the distance like a speck. “We have to go back-” 

The GIW were- were- They had to go back! The portal was gone (exploded, broken and all of Fentonworks a smoldering mess, oh Ancients he’s gonna be sick-), no one could return to the Realms, they were all sitting ducks- 

“Jordan please-” he begged, even though he already knew that between the city, between every other ghost and them, Dan would always choose to keep them safe. But Jazz was hurt, she wasn’t waking up from where she lay limply cradled in Dan’s claws. 

There was so much blood, and he only knew she was still alive from the weak fluttering of her core, growing stronger as her heartbeat faded. She needed help, she needed doctors- he doesn’t know if she would be able to come back, not with how they were leaving the ecto-rich city behind and he didn’t want to lose her- Dan’s blank panic was swamping his own, drowning both of them in the emotion as the dragon tore through the sky. Some part of him knew they couldn’t stay in Amity anymore, but- But Jazz needed help- Danny couldn’t help the tears that dripped from his yes, pretending it was merely the clouds as they flew to places unknown to him.

Flood light dims, spotlights illuminate the lone figure standing centre of the stage. 

Soft intro chords on the piano were joined in by your soft yet powerful voice cutting through the droning chatter of the room. Sequin on the dress shimmering with the sway of the hip, your hands softly grasping the microphone on the stand as you moved into the chorus, pouring all your emotion of the song. 

All attention was on you. The conversations came to a halt. One by one, heads turning towards the stage, club patrons were entranced by your performance. 

Including a man hidden in the dark corner of the room, a cigar in one hand, tumblr glass filled with some sort of liqueur in another, you noticed his eyes fixed right on you the moment you stepped onto the stage.

You tried hard to focus on the audience in front of you, scanning across the room, searching for someone. Yet you couldn’t help yourself coming back to the man,  Even from a distance, the intensity of his stare flip a switch on inside you, lighting a fire in your core. 

Your eyes close as you reach the end of the song, letting the audience's applause and cheering wash over you. 

Sound of the band starting with the chattering noise arising again in the club, pulling you back into the zone, you decided to make your way off the stage, approaching the man. 

He seems to be slightly surprised with the way his eyes widened for a split second, and composed himself, ready for your approach. 

“Hello stranger. Here alone?” Tilting your head down slightly, you flash him a sultry smile as you come to a stop right in front of him.

“I am waiting for someone.” Man in the dark corner rumbled in his husky baritone voice, not giving much emotion away, or at least you think he is trying hard to keep his composure. 

Putting on an exaggerated pout and tapping your lip with your finger, “who might that be?” you asked with feign innocence. 

“My wife. She promised to join me for a drink later on. Once she is finished with her… official business.”  Voice is still controlled and steady, but his unabashed desire is evident as he scans your body up and down with ocean blue eyes.

“Oh. I am sure she wouldn’t mind you having some company in the meantime.” Not waiting for his reply, you lower yourself into his lap, looping your arms around his neck. 

As you lean closer to him, the heady smell of the cigar and whisky hits your senses, mixed with his leathery yet sweet smelling cologne. You hummed as you moved your hips around, trying to find a comfortable position, also teasing him. “You have a very beautiful voice.” He purred as you felt one of his hands pull you in tighter against him, the other slipping through the split of your dress, sliding in towards your inner thigh, edging closer towards your dripping core. 

“So does my husband say, especially when I call out his name in bed.” Undo the top two buttons, you slip your hand into the gap, scratching lightly on his chest and play with his chest hair.

“Chameleon. Price. Time to stop ….. Whatever little game the two of you are playing. Enough of the teenage flirting and get on with the mission. Target spotted on the other side of the room, in the VIP booth. ”  Ghost’s voice crackles through the comm, annoyed.

You threw your head back with a laugh. Leaning closer to your husband’s neck, to speak into the microphone,  you feel the goosebump and slight shiver of his body as you deliberately ghosting your lip over his ear lobe;

“I am sorry Ghost that you are not enjoying this little show we are putting on, Surely someone else will entertain you more at home.” Hearing other team members’ cackling and Ghost’s grumbling as you pull your own ear piece off and give your husband a light kiss on the lip before standing up, demeanour changes as you switch your focus to the mission.

I was looking for this fanfic where the sects send their heirs to vanquish the Yiling Patriarch, but none of them return. Even Lan Sizhui goes missing, and Jin Ling takes matters into his own hands and goes to find the Yiling Patriarch himself because he's grieving.

So he goes there but the situation is entirely different. All the sect heirs are at Burial Mounds safe and dound they just didn't go back because of all the responsibilities their parents have for them.

Also, Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian are actually together, and Wangji just sent Sizhui because the teen misses his other baba. And so when Jin Ling gets to know and Lan Wangji comes and they establish them as a new sect and all that jazz.

I'm not sure if the fix is actually complete. But please find this for me cuz I really really love the feels in this fic. @poetic-writes

After the core transfer WWX’s blood slowly turns back to red and he has to be careful not to get injured or it will show that he lost his core. In that scene after he is revived JC doesn’t whip him, WWX pretends to be MXY and shows his red blood to “prove” it. I am dying to read this again! It was most likely on ao3.

7. Hi can you help me find a fic I read a couple of years ago? It was a modern au where all the sect heirs were sent to another planet/alternate reality (?) for some kind of reality TV show. I think JGS was behind it but for some reason also sent JZX. I remember that NMJ is killed while they are trying to escape and WWX stays behind alone to allow the rest to escape. wwx gets de aged (post canon) and doesn’t remember that Jiang Yanli is dead but he gets happy to see jin Ling even says something about JY to him (that he should address him better cause he’s his nephew). Then he goes to lotus pier because he wants to be with JC but he starts remembering more things and is sent back  to cloud recess. The more the time pases the more he remembers and he gets where he remembers the wens, he’s happy to see Sizhui but discontented with the fact that after all he dies. 

After that, His body kind of shuts down (replicating  the years that was dead) and lwj has to keep passing energy so he doesn’t die and after a week or something he finally wakes up with full memory of what happened.

Welcome back to Lixx explaining hyperfixations!!

Danny Phantom is a children's cartoon from 2004 that has three seasons and a graphic novel (that came out last year) (the show has been done for twenty years)

It focuses on Daniel Fenton, who is a 14 year old who lives in a small town somewhere in the northern Midwest of the US (near Wisconsin but not in it). His parents are scientists/inventors who are obsessed with ghosts. They create a portal that should bring them to the Ghost Zone, a special realm that ghosts come from, but it doesn't work. Danny does inside of it and turns it on, which turns him into a Halfa. A Halfa is a half ghost, half human. He canonically dies twice in the show. I will not elaborate on how this kid just dies a few times.

The show follows Danny and his friends (and various classmates and reoccurring cast) as he learns how to use his powers and fight off ghosts along the way!

The cast includes:

His older sister Jazz, who is actually a really good big sister who cares a lot even if she's overbearing

Sam, his main love interest who is a Jewish goth girl and doesn't eat meat

His best friend Tucker, who is a techno nerd who loves meat

The A-Listers, who are the popular kids

Valerie, who is a love interest and enemy at certain points

His parents Maddie and Jack, who are overbearing and can be kinda crazy at times

Vlad, his not uncle who is fucking insane and a main bad guy. In love with Maddie

The fandom is very active and old. There are regular Tumblr/AO3 events that happen every year with a schedule and there is a steady fanon that has been built around the show that is basically canon (or supported by the canon). The creator, Butch Hartman, is a bigoted asshole who everyone hates.

The show is very fun and it is bingeable. It has a specific formula and is predictable at times. But also, it's very grim because you slowly realize that this 14 year old kid is literally carrying the weight of a realm on his shoulders and is living a double life where his parents basically want him dead and gone while loving his alive self

The fandom loves gore/whump.

I'm not kidding.

I have written a handful of gore fics for this show and tbh they're not even the worst things ever. If you've ever want to see some of the most jaw dropping whump and gore, this fandom has it.

We have fics that are literally the best written alternate universes and have nothing to do with the original show besides characters and death. Like. There's bound books of that specific fic. I haven't read it but it's long and it will make you sob

Some things that are lore building/fanon shit that everyone knows:

𖦹 In 1940, when Ned was 6 years old, Nazis invaded the country and occupied the village for their resources, such as fish and metal. Many villagers stayed behind and were forced to work for and host the scum. But because dark hair and eyes were traits that could, at that time, get someone killed, and the Havn family happened to possess those, they fled into a hidden nearby mountainside bunker for self-preservation. Unfazed by the fascism, and as an act of defiance and a sign of love, the village people took turns sneaking them dried and durable foods, water and other necessities. After years of silence enforced by his parents, near-total darkness, and enough time to learn the reasons for their hiding, Ned emerged from the bunker at age 11 a reserved, anxious, and brutally self-aware kid. His hatred for the war, its participants and the injustices done to his family festered deep within his core, along with an extreme sense of righteousness and fear of separation. 𖦹 The act of fishing helped him develop a strategy for regulating his feelings and calming himself. His silence could finally serve as an advantage instead of a survival tactic, since sound would only scare the fish away. Getting taught this by his father helped create positive memories with him after such a strenuous time. He also helped provide food for the villagers who were still busy patching up the bullet holes in their homes – pay back his debt to them, so to speak. 𖦹 As a consequence of spending five years in an enclosed space, he gets uncomfortable in small rooms and even too tight of a hug. 𖦹 Occasionally, his animosity would manifest itself in isolation and little outbursts of self destructive behaviors. Among them would be things such as taking his sailboat out to sea in horrendous conditions. Or spending continuous days and nights at the docks, fishing until exhaustion, overstocking his shop and eerily observing the piles of fish enact their last living squirms. 𖦹 Due to the frenzies, tension and Ned's claustrophobia, he started saving up the little salary his father gave him for helping out, moved out of his parents' tiny home at age fifteen... and right into the building around the corner. There, he gradually filled the spacious apartment with locally crafted furniture and continued selling his fish to the community from his kitchen.

𖦹 A company, run by outsiders of the village community, called Dyr Her & Der Animal Relocation emerged out of nowhere to monitor and manage the rapidly increasing seal population. When they started offering guided tours of the seals nesting grounds as a marketing strategy, the number of tourists in Selbyen rose exponentially. Ned welcomed the strange visitors, as they acted respectfully to their symbiotic lifestyle with the marine life. Neds fish sold much faster than before, so he began expanding his market place to outside of his front door and managed to officially open his shop called Frodes Freskfisk. Later he renamed it to Frode's Fresh Fish, to accommodate the international tourists. 𖦹 The tourist population dwindled by 1957, at which point FFF had expanded into the neighboring building and consisted of a whopping four employees – and one proud yet humble boss. Due to the lack of customers, he let everyone go and continued his career as the community's fish salesman. 𖦹 In early 1968, a company called Team Fortress Industries knocked at their gates, or rather marched right through them, and announced that they had bought the entire plot of the land. From whom and what for, they would not answer. Despite vocal protest, the pacifistic population of Selbyen accepted the small paycheck, packed their bags and got into the designated busses, headed inlands. Except for one angry and frightened fisherman. 𖦹 Hiding underneath an upside-down fishing boat, in one hand a harpoon, in the other a fishing net, Ned waited for dawn to browse the area in search for workers of the strange invasive industry. After spotting a tent, he prepared and executed an entrapment via fishernet and threat via harpoon towards the surprised woman in purple. His willingness to harm, to attack someone over distressing people he cared for, struck her as useful enough to offer him a contract to work a very vaguely described job in the village. For the companys good alone, of course. Not entirely convinced, Ned released her and barricaded himself in his home, waiting for the woman to return with a written contract as she had suggested. 𖦹 Meanwhile, she took the little time she had to reignite telephonical contact with TFI, asking for background information on Ned. Workers, or rather henchmen of the company took it upon themselves to torture any and all information out of some of the village people who'd been there for the war and knew what happened to the Havn's. They could relay to Pauling that he posessed great capabilities for violence, if pushed into the right direction, as he'd spent his entire life building up his walls, his frustrations. They'd stumbled upon a time bomb. 𖦹 Upon receiving the contract, Ned was shocked by the conditions of having to be an active participant in a war disguised as a publicity stunt for Dyr Her & Der Animal Relocation. Until he reached the paragraph that disclosed his payment. Each capture OR killing of an enemy would exponentially raise the extent of his pay – as a little motivation, a nudge in the 'right' direction by the industry. 𖦹 Using the knowledge that he'd do anything for the safety and comfort of his people worked tremendously. Ned signed away his life to be able to send his fellow villagers and family the money to actually monetarily survive being evacuated from their homes. 𖦹 Furthermore, the chance to overcome his, very unreasonable, feeling of guilt for not having stood up for his family more during the world war, seemed too great to pass up. Finding an outlet in the bloodshed was never in his plans, but they were in the industry's, and they wouldn't halt at any form of manipulation to break and bend him into a perfect machine. 𖦹 In the first few weeks, he was amidst not only the mental preparations, but also the preparation for his teammates and ultimately the opposition to arrive in Selbyen. He's been supplied with weaponry needed in this war and has had minimal gun practice on a makeshift range by the beach, for he has never shot a weapon in his life save for his harpoon.

Zora Worldbuilding Headcanons

Some core assumptions:

The BotW branch of the timeline is chronologically set AFTER the previous timeline, ie the events of ToTKs ancient past is set AFTER the last event of the Hyrule Historia timeline. essentially they all come back together to form one line that makes up ToTKs ancient era

The biggest effect on Hyrules topography was the flooding in Wind Waker. after an unknown point, the flooding ocean receded leaving behind the ruins of ancient Hyrule. at some point after that, the zonai settled parts of it and made the buildings wed see as ruins by the time of BotW. slowly the various tribes of hyrule immigrated back

all peoples within the setting of hyrule are loosely grouped into categories called tribes. in this sense, tribe refers a collection of peoples with shared traits, without anything concretely set in stone (for example, hyrule includes the tribe of hylians, the tribe of gorons, the tribe of koroks, etc etc. the main six who show up repeatedly can be considered the sage tribes (gerudo, hylian, sheikah, rito, goron, zora), and the various types of enemies can be considered the monster tribes (the blin tribe of bokoblin, moblin, bulblin, etc)

so with THAT in mind! heres shit that is almost entirely just Fun Background Context and worldbuilding that i mostly just rotate in my mind when working out events for that still-unnamed totk au

the zora are the tribe most heavily associated with the element of water. elemental water concerns not just the physical aspect of water, but conceptually is associated with the concepts of flowing time and change. as such, the zora show the highest degree of adaptation and physical changes

by the time of ToTK there are three descendants of Old Timeline Zora: the rito, who adapted with the help of valoo to achieve flight, and inherited the element of wind and forest from the kokiri, the "river dwelling" zoras that make up the current Zoras Domain and include Sidon, and the "reef dwelling" zoras that are further east in the oceans bordering akkala and include Yona. there are more than these 3 (only two of which are still zora as the rito have branched off so much and so long ago they are considered their own separate tribe) but these are the ones with the strongest presence in hyrule

the zora are very familiar with their own adaptable nature, and physical differences between different zora are rarely remarked on as its a matter of course. this typically confuses non zora when one refers to the rito as their air dwelling cousins, but to a zora this seems as obvious as the sunrise. some zora just evolved to fly, its that easy. they may not be fishpeople but theyre still cousins. zora rarely elaborate on this connection as initial confusion is misconstrued as confusion with regards to a zoras adaptable nature in GENERAL and not the specific connection between the birdlike rito and the fishlike zora

zora, overall, work on clownfish gender rules. personal physical traits can morph based on overall population and secondary sex characteristics adapt and change as needed. zora gender presentation, therefore, is completely divorced from sex characteristics and considered a matter of personal identification. clothing is essentially just fun accessories to jazz up your appearance. as such gender roles in zora society exclusively refers to whos doing what in procreation, but extrapolating habits, presentation, or identifying characteristics from those roles is deeply confusing. similarly confusing is the idea of differentiating relationships based on gender or sex characteristics (to a zora, all marriage is gay marriage).

well accustomed to change, the zora typically take cultural differences in stride and are known for their adaptable and friendly nature, though a perspective drawing root from the biology of fish exacerbated by an elf-like long lifetime means theres been a fair share of well meaning confusion and misinterpretations on their part.

the exception being the zora post calamity where, having suffered catastrophic losses and the death of their beloved princess, the zora of the domain reacted in their grief by becoming isolationist and traditionalist, in an attempt to staunch the flow of despair that was sweeping their lands. sidons ascension both as the champions heir in botw and the sage of water in totk metaphorically heals these wounds, helping the zora as a people embrace the everflowing nature of time and the changes they bring, as we must risk pain to fight for our happiness. by digging in our heels and keeping away, we prevent anything from getting better, letting the water stagnate. though the current may sweep us away, only the flowing river brings new life.

the zora, being the tribe associated with the element of water, react incredibly strongly to its presence. this is most visible with zora royalty. ancient tradition dictates the spiritual stone of water, the zora sapphire, be used as a wedding gift by the royal heir. proximity to such a powerful source of elemental water causes the zora ruler to grow steadily larger and more powerful as they age, as the spiritual stone is used as their marriage token. this is why the zora king is typically a massive individual, combined with the zoras long lives, one can get absolutely MASSIVE. this connection is also why the zora ruler is so powerful, as seen in king dorephan physically throwing a guardian off a cliff

following up on this, most zora cannot cast magic. the implied gender dynamics in sidons questline in ToTK deeply aggravate me and, imo, cheapen Miphas skills as a champion, as yona and other female zora are seen performing the same healing magic mipha was known for, and then purifying water in sidons place (so why is he even doing it if he can just take shifts??? anyways). adjusting for this, magic is, by ToTK, an extremely rare skill to have. even the presence of the spiritual stone does not imbue one with the ability and skill to cast magic dorephan may be powerful, but he is no mage.

in that vein: yona and her attendants have no healing magic. they demonstrate their compassion and dedication to helping with the crisis by tediously and thoroughly treating the sludge-affected and wounded zora in the domain by hand, scrubbing them clean and tending to them with non magical medicine. mipha was not born a sage, and in truth had very little magical power, and a shallow connection to the magical element of her people. what was remarkable was the sheer skill and razor point efficiency with which she used what little magic she had, generating returns that so outclassed her power that it seemed a miracle. this is why mipha was so short, as zora grow in proportion to their connection to water, and miphas connection was constantly stretched to its limit by her compassionate nature and determination to heal and save all she could

as a change to ToTK used in the au, and also a headcanon: miphas court was not always a source of water for zoras domain. once the sludge crisis began, polluting the waters around the domain, a wellspring of clean water sprung up as if by magic underneath her statue, flowing downwards towards the zora. the area is well explored, and there is no immediate logical explanation, leading to it being widely perceived as miphas final miracle (which is not far from the truth. vah rutah generates water from nothing, and even in death mipha cant help herself but to try and save her people, watching over them still)

zora religion is a matter of significant cultural importance, and to the surprise of no one, features a heavy emphasis on water. zora, overall, are deeply spiritual as a rule, and this shows clearly in their architecture and their noted tendency to dedicate massive structures to religious worship and celebration (and often time such structures work both as a spiritual source of worship and as a practical location with a designated function. nearly all water temples are explicitly religious, and they also tend to double as water plants in some fashion)

frequent interaction with the hylians has meant that the zoras have had PLENTY of time to comingle and embrace hylian culture and religious concepts, to a degree that often surprises and shocks your average unaware hylian. the zora are somehow more gung ho about hylia than even THEY are (hylian culture and religion are for another post, but in general hylia worship is treated as a subtle background element and is rarely brought to the forefront of active attention or behavior. by contrast, the zora have an organized religion focusing on her with a dedicated priest role)

the heavens above are a vast starry ocean, the dwelling place of spirits, and where the horizon meets the sea, the dead can cross over from one plane to another. the rivers below are a muddied reflection of the starry rivers above, and where life is brought forth in the waters below it transitions to a new form in the waters above. the shine of the stars is the glint of light off the scales of celestial zora, and reflective metals like silver help them find their kin in the lands below

"all waters meet in the ocean" being a zora idiom about how many different concepts will often lead back to one solution, and how many different peoples can find unity at a single destination, regardless of how dissimilar they may initially appear

an emphasis on the flowing mutable qualities of water is reflected both in the zoras conception of identity (prone to change as time and circumstance changes, both metaphysically and also physically) and also their spiritual practice, focusing on the nature of spiritual transition from one state to another

hylia thus takes the role of guiding shepherd in this instance, symbolically aligned with the sun. through hylias light, the spirits of the dead find their loved ones in the living world, who in turn can see the sparkling glint of their scales in the heavens. as disaster clogs the river and buries the dead, hylias light reflects off the water to help guide them to the horizon line

out of all the tribes, the zora have embraced hylia the most, and openly incorporate hylian iconography into their own religious symbolism, and through the generations have had their own dedicated priesthoods to her, a tradition which still continues, albeit more casually, to this day. zora churches to hylia are considered some of the most beautiful in the country

zora do not worship a creator deity and instead attribute their peoples birth to the amorphous and chaotic nature of water itself, though there has been many minor religious figures taking the form of guiding spirits who aided in their creation by guiding the malleable form of the zora into one more closely resembling their current state

included in these guiding spirits are historic protectors of the zora people, including the water dragon farore and the great fish jabu jabu

the shared heritage with the rito is attributed to the nature of leviathans, who both dwelt in the ancient oceans (jabu jabu) and also roamed the heavens (the windfish, levias) and is considered a minor fact of life not really exciting enough to dwell on

a fun little aside inspired by my replay of skyward sword: the water dragon being the source of elemental water sage magic for the zora, and the water dragon uses her power to imbue the lake she resides in with a kind of magical purity, allowing her to grow whatever she wants in its waters (ie salt content or lack thereof does not affect the lotus blossoms or coral growth, as they draw upon the magic in the water to filter what they need). she is the source of elemental water for the zora, and thus has the greatest mastery over it, demonstrating skills other sage descendants cannot yet replicate. in time though, sidon may be able to imbue small bodies of water with that purity, allowing salt and freshwater organisms to coexist when otherwise theyd be unable to

the waters of the divine springs are not elemental water but instead the divine waters of the sacred realm, and are instead closer to elemental *light* than anything else. the springs will never diminish, nor dry up, and are as deep or as shallow as needed

the zonais interaction with the zora was a bit of a reversal of typical first contact enlightenment. the zora have a long history of stellar plumbing systems and engineering, to such a degree that first contact resulted in the zonai learning and adapting zora blueprints and methodologies for the construction of the water temple sky island

IMAGINE THIS: Lil baby Damian, bored and being not quite old enough to start learning how to use proper weapons (curse these wooden ones, he wants true steel!) is wandering the base. This is not out of the ordinary, he’s the prince after all. What is out of the ordinary is that his shadow, his Akhi, is not here. 

Technically, he should be napping, but he woke up and neither his mother or his brother- who is quiet but gentle and isn’t a good speaker (mother said it was from a head injury)- is there. Which is how he finds his way to the Pit, which he’s not supposed to be at. Or at least not alone. 

But! His mother and Akhi are there! And- and Akhi is screaming and he’s never heard him scream like that, like he’s in agony- His eyes are green- they were blue, had, had Mother placed him in the Waters- 

And then the pool is bubbling- he should be running away, get assistance or something, he’s five, he shouldn’t be running towards it when everything is screaming to flee. But one moment he’s at the doorway, the next he’s clinging to his akhi as something writhes in the Pit, a mighty bellow echoing even as the Shadows take defensive positions. 

The water cascades, laps at their feet, splashes everywhere as a scaled form rises from the depths, wings like a bloodied sunset spreading as fur bursts into flames. Crimson eyes glare down at them all, pupils slits as they bare down at his Akhi. 

The creature- the dragon- dips its head down, its breath warm as it chuffs at his akhi, wings folding as though it is bowing. His akhi is clinging to Mother, shivering, several scars glowing as they fade and a burst of hair burned white.

For the mythology AU: the idea of Prowl as both the god of life and death but everyone else thinks the planet is what creates life (something something, the core of a planet is kind of like a spark and life comes from Cybertron itself so the planet is the creator of all living things, weird lore stuff that's all anyone can remember)

Jazz as the messenger god gets a message to give to the god of Life, and since he has no clue Prowl exists he's basically like: "... well, time to talk to a planet I guess!"

He ends up super confused about what to do to deliver the message and starts being a dork about it (sitting in crystal forests and communing with nature, talking to the stars and trying to give the message to a turbofox at one point in case the mechanimals know something he doesn't) only to say screw it and head into the Ravine of Doom or some other accurately designated Pit of death that goes deep under the oceans into the core of the planet, somewhere no one has ever returned from before.

He finds a very pretty mech in the planet's core that seems very surprised to see someone alive in his realm, and seeing as Jazz is the messenger god he's absolutely in shock that there's a god he didn't know existed. He's also incredibly attracted and more than willing to seduce the beautiful stranger who seems to be in some kind of heat cycle now that he's in the presence of another devine entity... (the power of life is a burden that needs to be shared, and Prowl's systems took one look at the playful but deadly little messenger god before deciding that they could make a lovely brood together)

Jazz is the messenger of good time ahead, Prowl.

You know what’s kinda f***ed? How the sun is always associated with good and the moon evil. Even with the gift of modern knowledge and technology, we still do the moon dirty. Sun-based characters are symbols of goodness and positivity and all that jazz while moon/night characters are moody/depressing at best and evil at worst. Yes, the sun gives us light which without we’d be a giant ice ball, and it helps us tell time and provides photosynthesis. It also gives out solar system its orbit and us our seasons.

BUUUUUUT

It’s still a giant ball of swirling gas and flames that it occasionally shoots out randomly. The planets are the remains of its dead family members that it killed as it grew powerful. It puts out death rays that severely affect our health when exposed to them too long, despite being so far away that miles are not sufficient to illustrate that concept. You can’t even look at the dang thing without going blind AND if we were just even a little bit closer to it there’d be untold consequences across the entire globe.

Oh, and when it dies it turns a massive vortex of death so strong that not even light can escape.

It’s not all that special on its own, as it’s just (possibly) a piece of the Earth that broke off during its formation and just stuck around. No solar winds, gasses, or atmosphere to speak of, even the terms “moonlight” and “moon phases” are misleading as it’s merely reflecting the light of the sun. It doesn’t even have a magnetic field anymore, as its core cooled down a loooong time ago. It’s relatively harmless-- provided it doesn’t crash into the Earth of course.

It’s also ridiculously tiny compared to us

It: protected the planet when it was younger from solar winds with its own magnetic field when it did have one, keeps our rotation from speeding up which also stabilizes our climates and seasons, and creates time as we know it; affects our tides, which plays a major role in ocean life in many ways; gives us light at night which helps all nocturnal life, helped us get our first leg into space with the moon landing,

gave us MOON ROCKS in the form of meteorites,

continues to help us learn about space, and protects the Earth from stray satellites that may otherwise strike it (hence all the craters on its surface).

context of cute manga teasing aside the take op was into hit such a nerve because like... are we just at a point where we call all the stuff music fans once thought was impressive "mid" (bad) in order to look smart?? I heard some kids on campus bashing like a ton of other classic rock bands and saying like Nirvana was trash the only truly good band was X

AND ITS fine to get to that place like whatever, we're people and those are always the thoughts we end up at... but there's nothing true about it with music imo

if you're saying AC/DC is mid because it's just generic and simplistic then are you trying to say you value originality? because it feels like bands that get too far in the weeds with complicated music and weird vibes like Radiohead get praised as the coolest thing ever during the time that they're the most intentional and creative thing that a person has heard and then they just find something more complicated and more intentional that speaks to them more and forget about the last thing until they're listening to 17/4 bossa jazz from ireland because its the Only Thing that speaks to them and that's definitely not the core of originality, that's just your personal taste

I understand wanting to toss out old opinions when they were once used to say that all pop music was junk and overly simplistic but if youre just going to say that your favorite indie band Dopus Popus is the one true artistically inspired band because it uses the sharp seventh chords that speak to your soul you're doing the same thing that Radiohead fans did before

maybe this is junk I definitely don't always have the best perspective on music but in my mind there are two poles where there's simple stuff that resonates with people widely like pop music using tried and true formulas and then an ocean of things going in their own direction with all kinds of more complex stuff that speaks to less people but more deeply

I could see getting mad at what people used to call the most interesting and innovative popular rock bands because they don't go far enough in either direction, these days being too artsy and self-centered to appeal to daywalkers but not artsy enough to be sophisticated "cool"

but now you're just putting them in the middle of a chart where the coordinates are just how much secret spice they used and how much they deviated from what was popular and you're kind of just hunting for outliers in a matrix of data at that point

I think there's a huge value in simple pop music that works for lots of people and a ton of value and music that uses lots of tools to create something fresh and rich and complicated and all that stuff in the middle has value too because, and this is a good part

maybe I'm out of touch with the objective measurements people use for music these days but being pretty plugged into games I just think it's so much easier to spot a bad game (literal bugs and issues we all know are missing or dry mechanics that engage nonody) then it is to spot bad music because Ballon Wonder World is probably never going to appeal to anybody on that deep of a level but any once-innovative now-forgotten rock band still has the potential to mean so much to so many people and that's where I place value for sure, as pretty much a retired music critic of some kind at this point

and to be blunt most of the people I know who studied music and really associated their identities with it ended up in the same trap of finding the sound that spoke to them and, because they had to go off the beaten path for it and can see the artistic merit that sets it aside from what they don't like, think it's God's gift to man and look down at everybody who doesn't like it

when we are comparing apples to oranges to bananas and pears and changing up whats "objectively mid" every once in a while based on how many seeds it has or how hard it is to peel
