Talk about an OC that means a lot to you! Why do they mean so much to you? - 🖤

Oh wow!! This is a really good question!! Thank you for this!

I would say I have a couple or a few who mean a lot to me. Lily Sahi from the previous ask is probably the number one. She was my very first OC and my first fanfic. She's what got me into making OCs and writing fanfiction. I'm not as active as I used to be writing, but that's life sometimes. Looking back on it is VERY cringe. I love her and the story, they hold a special place in my heart, but good God was that cringe. But it also shows how far I've come with my writing which I love.

Another OC that means a lot to me is my Marvel/MCU OC Tracey Madison/Barnes. She's the first OC that had a story that I actually finished! She was created when I was in college and I loved her and the story/stories I created. I don't know if I'll ever get back to finishing the series, but looking back on my time with that series makes me happy. I met so many friends through it on here with my other blog. I don't know if I'll ever get rid of it, but I'm not as active on it as I used to be. Tracey is definitely a favorite and she's definitely in top 5 or 10 of my OCs.

Current OC that has meaning to me is Fiona. I'm enjoying creating her and figuring out her place in One Piece. If it wasn't for my best friend/roommate I wouldn't have gotten into the series and created her. So in a way I feel connected with my friend through the show who helped create Fiona. I also put a little bit of me in her (which I feel everyone does with their OCs). I have a dream of owning a baking business/bakery one day and I think she inspired me to keep trying because when I was creating her I gave her and her family a bakery because I love to bake as a hobby, but as I was creating her it hit me that I REALLY want to start a business. It's not going anywhere just yet, but I'm practicing my skills and hope to be there one day. So yes, I would say Fiona has a strong meaning for me in addition to Lily and Tracey. I want to strive to be as hardworking as her.

1. What’s their full name? Why was that chosen? Does it mean anything?

Cord’s full name is Cordelia Sonali Grey, named after her mother and paternal grandmother (I chose the name Cordelia after seeing the name on a different OC edit and loving it). Ironically, Cordelia means “heart” or “daughter of the sea(-god)”, which is fitting considering her love for the ocean and how she’s the heart of her friend group. Sonali means “beautiful color” or “golden”

8. Did they have any pets as a child? Do they have pets as an adult? Do they like animals?

Yes, Cord absolutely loves animals. Growing up, she didn’t have any pets, but when she goes to Hogwarts, Cord is given a birthday present from her aunt Drea and Buffy a little barn owl that she names Horus after the Egyptian god of the sky and kingship. After the war, when she and Harry are adults, not only do they still have Horus, they also have Harry’s new snowy owl (named Hedwig II), their son Will’s cat, Cora, and their adoptive daughter Aoife’s toad, Prince. They do also consider getting a dog, but that’s a different story entirely

17. Do they like to take photos? What do they like to take photos of? Selfies? What do they do with their photos?

Cord isn’t really a photographer; she doesn’t mind taking photos, but it isn’t really her thing (I feel like Harry would be the one to take photos of everything because of how he grew up with the Dursleys). If she were to take photos, it would be of her family (Harry, the kids, Drea) and her friends. As to what she would do with them, Cord would hang them up all over her family’s apartment because she wants to show them off to anyone who comes in

20. Do they like musicals? Music in general? What do they do when their favorite song comes on?

Oh my god, Cord is SUCH a music hoe! She loves it all, music, musicals etc. Cord would definitely be a Mamma Mia hoe, going crazy singing ABBA songs and just driving her friends crazy (with the exception of Tracey, she would just join in to piss off their friends and support Cord). Also, anytime a Spice Girls song comes on, catch her, Tracey, and (much to her reluctance) Hermione, singing Wannabe at the top of their lungs

Finally finished this after like two months. Sorry for being so late. I'll try and get the other prompts finished soon!

She stood there, staring at the dripping goo that fell from the cabinet to the laminate countertop. Mouth hanging open, her eyes traveled up, slowly following the trail of brown and - was that green...and purple? - whatever-it-is substance that created many, many streaks down the dark wood of the cabinets. Then finally, her eyes landed on the ceiling where the biggest abomination lived. There right near the start of the cabinets, maybe a foot away, was a large blob of the multi-colored mess.

“Oh my god…”

Tracey’s eyes fell from the blob to the two culprits who stood before her, covered from head to toe in the same substance. Pietro stared back at her with a sheepish grin as Annabeth kept giggling into her hands .

“I can explain.” Pietro stepped forward, but quickly retracted his step when he saw the fire in Tracey’s eyes. “Annabeth asked for cupcakes, but I...do not know how to make them. Or rather...I messed up with uh mixer.” He gestured to behind him and sitting on the counter in its own puddle of, what Tracey could now only guess was supposed to be cake batter, was the hand mixer her mom had given her a week ago. “But as you can see...it broke.”

Tracey blinked several times before bringing her gaze back to the speedster. “And how did it break, Pietro?”

Pietro shifted on his feet for a moment, glancing down at the five year old girl standing next to him. Annabeth grinned and giggled up at him, thinking this whole endeavor was hilarious.

“I uh was scrapping the mixer with a knife and Annabeth - or I - may have turned on switch to mixer,” the speedster finally answered. He pursed his lips, eyes going a little wide as he waited for the blonde woman’s fury to emerge.

“You wha-” Tracey’s mouth fell open even more when she looked to the side of the mixer and found a knife with it’s blade broken in half. “You used a steak kni-” She clenched her fists and took in a sharp breath before slowly loosening her hands. “For the sake of my rapidly dwindling sanity, I’m going to pretend I didn’t see, or hear, any of this.” She grabbed her daughter’s hand. “I’m going to give Annabeth a bath and get this gunk off her. I suggest you clean this up, Pietro, before Bucky gets home.”

“I am home,” Bucky called out from the entry-way. “What did he do this time?”

“Daddy!” Annabeth exclaimed. Her face lit up and she immediately let go of her mom’s hand.

“Annabeth, no wait!” Tracey called after her daughter, but just sighed as she watched her five year old run to greet her dad. The little girl’s feet slapping against the wooden floor and leaving small footprints made of the cake batter in her wake.

“Hey, baby dol-” Bucky’s smiling face quickly swapped out for a look of bewilderment. “What is all over you?” He picked her up, holding her out at arm’s length, examining the globs of brown, green, and purple that covered his daughter. Some of the substance dripped onto his hands as he carried her back to the kitchen.

“I wanted to bake something for you and Mommy and Pietro and I started making cupcakes,” the little brunette explained, smiling up at her dad.

Bucky stopped as soon as he got into the kitchen and gently set Annabeth down. His eyes darted from Tracey, to Pietro, to Annabeth, then to the mess that covered practically every inch of his kitchen. “That is not cupcakes. What the fuck is that and what is it doing in my kitchen?”

Annabeth gasped, hands flying to her mouth. “Daddy said a bad word! Swear jar! Swear jar!”

The super soldier turned his gaze from the mess and once again placed it on the speedster. “What happened, Pietro?”

“Do I have to repeat myself?” Pietro groaned, hanging his head back. At that moment a glob landed on his face.

“Yes,” Bucky said, folding his arms over his chest, “you do have to repeat yourself.”

“I was cleaning the mixer with knife and I accidentally turned on the mixer.”

Bucky stared at his teammate, a bewildered expression dawning his face. “You what?”

“That’s what I said,” Tracey piped up as she cleaned Annabeth’s hands off with a wet washcloth.

“And then mixer fell into bowl creating the mess,” Pietro finished, gesturing with his arms at the kitchen. He wiped the batter off his face. “To be fair, I have never used mixer before in my life. Wanda always made the cakes.”

“You’re cleaning this,” Tracey said as Bucky picked Annabeth up, “you know that right? We need to clean, Annabeth.”

“By the time she’s clean, I want this room cleaned,” Bucky warned. “Use your super speed if you have to, but please get this cleaned up.”

Tracey followed her husband and daughter out of the room, not before taking one last glance at the ceiling. She closed her eyes in frustration before turning away without a word.

Annabeth giggled as she peered over her dad’s shoulder at the white haired Avenger. “Bye Pietro! Let’s make cupcakes again!”

Pietro’s shoulders slumped as he watched the family turn into the bathroom off from the hall. He groaned as he looked at the mess again, groaning even louder when more cake batter fell onto his head.

🌗 fluff or angst?

I love fluff more than angst, but lately I tend to put my characters through angst a lot. I definitely love fluff more and I think I enjoy writing the fluff that comes after the angst.

💕 favorite ship to write?

Tracey and Bucky have been a huge favorite and I think Mando and Casali and Yuriko and Hawks are going to be favorites as well.

Clearly I have a thing for childhood friends to lovers because I have that going for me with Marnie and Wally and Yuriko and Keigo.

Thorn loves the color forest green. Leila loves pink. Tracey's favorite is red. Yuriko I think is a toss up between purple and red. Maybe pink. Casali loves turquoise Marnie likes a royal blue. Aria is biased towards purple and turquoise Wes is biased towards green, but also kinda likes yellow.

WIP Whoop There It Is

So after watching The Falcon and the Winter Soldier today I decided to look up the Google Doc @swiftly-heart and I had created to help me plot out the next story in The Winter Series. The Civil War story. I forgot I had started chapter 1 and looking at it I really like what I have so here it is. 

Closing her eyes and pressing fingers to her temple, Tracey did her best to drown out the incessant talking that was coming from the white haired Avenger. Looking up from her computer she could see Pietro pacing (rapidly) back and forth, a scowl on his face that nearly matched the one on hers. Currently the two were at the Compound helping the team that traveled to Lagos with any intel that they needed. Well, Tracey was staying behind for that reason, Pietro...Pietro was there because of complications from a previous mission. 

“I mean who does he think he is?” Tracey caught Pietro ranting as she zoned back into his tyrad. He had been going on like this for a while now. “The captain?” 

“I mean,” Tracey began, propping an elbow on the table and resting her cheek against her fist, “he is Captain America.” 

“Yes, but he did not have to leave me behind while Wanda gets to have all the fun!” he said, his voice getting louder with each word.

“Maybe next time he lets you off the base you should do what he tells you to do,” Tracey said dryly, and hoped that next time would be some time soon. There was only so much of Pietro she could take when he was in this sort of mood.

“Maybe he should learn how to lead,” Pietro muttered in response and ran a hand through his hair.

Tracey blew out a sigh and tapped a few keys on her keyboard, pulling up street camera feeds in Lagos. “Pietro, you almost blew up a building,” she said, only half paying attention to him as she studied the footage.

“Almost,” he repeated. “And then I got rid of the bomb. He did not even know there was a bomb!”

“Nat got rid of the bomb,” she corrected him. In her peripheral vision, she saw him roll his eyes and decided to ignore it.

“Sam, you see that truck?” she heard Steve say through the comms that connected her to the team in Lagos, and switched cameras to follow a speeding garbage truck through the streets.

“That thing is loaded to max weight,” Sam replied. As he did, Redwing’s analysis of the truck popped up on her screen.

“Are you even listening to me?” Pietro asked over her shoulder, making her jump.

“No!” she replied, and forced herself to take a breath. “I’m kind of busy, actually. Don’t you have something else to do?”

“Well I should be in Lagos,” he declared and stepped away from her desk.

“Wanda,” Tracey spoke into the comms, pinching the bridge of her nose, “is there an off switch for your brother?”

A chuckle came from the other end of the comms. “Sadly, no. You just have to wait for his batteries to die. Even then that would take hours.”

“Fantastic…” the blonde said, leaning back into her seat as she stared ahead with an overly done look on her face. 

“What is she saying?” Pietro demanded from the other side of the room.

“She’s saying you need to sit down and stop complaining-” She was cut off by a distant boom that filtered through the comms channel, followed by the background noise of general panic from at least one person’t unit. Natasha, the computer told her as she brought up audio feeds. Street cameras showed the redhead stealing a motorbike with fearsome ease, and the comms settled again as she took off and Stark’s tech worked to filter out the noise of the engine and whatever screams from the crowd it didn’t drown out.

“What’s happening?” Pietro asked behind her. She didn’t jump this time, too busy worrying about the team on the ground, one of which was already picking a fight somewhere. Steve had a habit of just waltzing straight into danger once the action kicked off, whether or not anyone had eyes on him or knew where he was or could get to him in time to give him backup if he needed it.

“Someone crashed a truck into the CDC headquarters in Lagos,” she replied absently, busy trying to find a camera or something that could see Steve. Trackers indicated that Sam was getting close, but she still didn’t like anyone on the team being alone, especially with the sort of bad guys that tended to pop up unannounced on Avengers missions.

“Body armour, AR-15’s. I count seven hostiles.” Steve was still alive and standing at least, if he was giving intel across comms so clearly.

There was a grunt and a small amount of wind interference that the comms didn’t quite filter out. “I make five,” Sam replied, not even out of breath.

1. How does your OC get the comfiest? Do they wrap themselves in a blanket? Do they build a pillow nest? Do they make a nice cup of cocoa or tea

Tracey will do a cup of tea and a blanket. She likes to feel warm and cozy. Then throw in Bucky who hates the cold (reminds him too much of going under) and he just holds her as they stay warm in the blanket. Throw on a movie or just talk and she’s the comfiest she’ll be.

Casali will make a pillow nest and wrap herself in a blanket. She did this with her dad growing up and did it even when her parents were gone. Living on The Crest there isn’t a ton of blankets and pillows so she’ll do with what she can take so she doesn’t take anything away from Din or Grogu. She’ll definitely cuddle with Grogu who just coos happily and likes to play with her hair.

4. What would be the best present to give your OC? Who would most likely be the one to give it to them? What is their reaction to receiving it?

Tracey would probably love some really nice paint that she normally doesn’t buy because expensive and she needs the money for more important things. Bucky or Steve would probably get them for her. Bucky because it’s Bucky and he wants his girl happy, Steve because they’re art nerds haha. Or Bucky gets her something he’s noticed her looking at a couple times and she’s been on the fence about. Tracey would have a huge smile on her face and hug whoever gave it to her. 

Casali would probably see some pretty patterned clothing item and Din would probably get it for her. He’d see her eyeing it and just buy it for her without any word, hand her it and she’d just be staring at it and him with stars in her eyes and a loving smile. She’d probably hug him without a second thought and then after a couple seconds jump away remembering he doesn’t do hugs really.

8. What little nice things does your OC do for others? Do they keep any of them secret?

Tracey likes to make people their favorite meals if they’re having bad days or bring their favorite snacks/drinks to cheer them up. With Bucky she’d make sure his stuff is organized before a mission just because she knows he sometimes stresses before it, worried about how it will go so she’ll try and make things easier for him. Annabeth, Tracey will put little notes in her lunches when she goes to school or leave a note for her if she and/or Bucky are gone on a mission.

Casali started doing small things around The Crest when she joined the clan of two. She’ll make sure Din’s stuff is neat and put away, making it easier to find and grab when running out for a hunt. She’ll have food ready for Din when he gets back and leave the room so he can eat without worrying about her seeing his face. She’ll just do things to make Din’s life a little easier when it comes to before, during, and after hunts. He’s a stressed out man with people hunting him down 24/7.

10. How does your OC express happiness? A bright smile? Jumping up and down, flapping their hands? Blushing? Or are they stoic, with the slightest smile or crease to their eyes?

Tracey has a bright smile whenever she’s happy. It’s one of the things that drew Bucky to her. She practically lights up! 

Casali will have a soft smile, but her eyes will show how happy she is. They light up. If she’s really happy her whole face lights up and she’ll bounce on her feet a little or a lot. 

11. Where is your OC’s favourite place to spend time? Is it a nice peaceful park bench? A library? Or a bustling café?

Tracey loves going to Central Park. If she’s not walking Dexter then it’s either a walk with Bucky (and Annabeth) or she’s painting. She also loves her painting room.

Casali loves her garden. She finds peace there all the time. When she’s on The Crest she loves to just sit in the cockpit and watch the stars go by.

Casali - Grogu! He’s so cute and she loves his little babbles and smiles!

Marnie - Wally’s jokes. They don’t always do but a good chunk of the time she can’t help but smile. 

Alex - Playing with her uncle’s dog!

Tracey - Cozy movie nights with Bucky.

😱 - something that makes your character afraid?

Casali - Her uncle especially after she learned he used her to pay off his debts. Gribot scares her as well, but she refuses to show her fear to either of them.

Marnie - Her magic and losing the ones she cares about. 

Alex - Thunder. She just doesn’t like how loud it gets. 

Tracey - Losing her family. She lost her dad and she doesn’t want to lose anyone else. And Bucky losing his memory and reverting back to the Winter Soldier.

🤗 - something that makes your character feel warm and fuzzy?

Casali - Whenever Mando does anything that shows he cares. Big or small. When he starts opening up more she feels she’s accomplished something and likes to see the softer side of him. 

Marnie - Whenever Wally holds her hand. Whether before or during them dating she always has a blush come to her face and she just feels safe whenever he holds her hand. 

Alex - Sitting in her or Jack’s room and just laying about as he plays his guitar. It’s just peaceful. 

Tracey - Playing with Annabeth. She loves her daughter so much and she loves to see her smile. 

💞 - something that makes your character feel loved?

Casali - Mando remembering anything she’s said. Like she briefly mentions she’s never seen/done xyz and he takes her to see/do xyz whenever they’re not doing a job or being attacked. 

Marnie - Wally making her dinner or buying her a book she’s had her eye on. She loves that he’s willing to do something big or small for her without her asking for anything. She thinks it’s sweet of him to do because it shows a different side of him instead of the side that’s full of himself.

Alex - Forehead kisses and hugs. She just thinks they’re small, but they hold the most love. 

Tracey - Bucky is old fashioned (40s man after all) so whenever he brings her flowers or takes her dancing. The flowers are little surprises she loves to get from time to time. It doesn’t have to be an anniversary or holiday or anything special, he sometimes brings them as a random gift. Tracey’s relationship with Sam is really good. He was one of the first few people he met when she joined the Avengers. They’re basically best friends I’d say.
