Finally got around to drawing Theophania because I needed a picture of her for my list of favorite 7KPP daughters for the secret valentines exchange and of course if I do anything art-adjacent I gotta post it for one or two tiny doses of happy chemicals.
#sometimes I draw things#OC: Theophania (Ambitious Widow)#yes that doc is now three widows and Nee because I'm boring#if I'm playing singleplayer games I am minmaxing or cheating or both#failing stat checks makes me take psychic damage unless I can do improv for an audience about it that's just how I am

Here we go, the three core members of the Dark Orca's crew for this AU (Dannyboy is far more important than Tallulah for the actual running of the vessel, but he's more of a side character for the narrative).
In this AU, Finn has spent the better part of a decade growing up in a village in the Yorkshire dales, living with his maternal uncle while his mother systematically hunted down Proteus, the man behind the deaths of his father and paternal aunt.
Finn was nine when his mother left him in Heckmondwhite, and befriended some of the local boys whose mother had walked out on them too, particularly Cain because they were the closest in age at a little less than a year apart. That friendship tended to run hot and cold though, as Finn's mother came back every Christmas to spend the holidays with her kids and Cain's mother did not.
As teenagers, Finn and Tallulah bonded over having complicated relationships with mothers they barely get to see, and were surprised but pleased to see each other at Tom and Narayana's wedding. That family connection, no matter how tenuous it was, is why Tallulah ended up joining the Dark Orca's crew when her mother pulled her out of Dother Hall following the second gun incident.
#the deep cartoon#the deep 2015#dead hammerhead AU#smiling Finn#Tallulah Casey#OC: Theophania Barraclough#my art#I have to keep this AU set in the mid 2010s because that's when Gay Marriage was legalised in Ireland#and the gay wedding is what got Tallulah's mother talking to her father again#also just noticed that I have perhaps made Theo a bit pale. hm.#uhh she's been living out of a submarine for the past decade?#Finn likes to go topside when he can and that's why he hasn't gotten as pale yet#Tallulah however cannot hold a tan#the warmer tones on her legs are her tights#Also to clarify the family connection thing: Hammerhead considered Tom to be like a father to him but there's no legal or blood connection#Tom is Tallulah's actual grandfather and Finn also calls him grandad#but to reiterate - it's not by blood or actual adoption

Theophania needed her house unsanctified after a friend had stayed over for too long, apparently. (She's a vampire and has to be invited into homes.) More people noticed than she expected.

Here we go, my version of the Dark Orca family!
Both Archidemia and Hammerhead took their respective spouses' names, if anyone was wondering why Alpheus' family was the Kamat family and not the Benthos.
I haven't given everyone the bling they deserve, I meant to, I just kept getting distracted while I was doing the sketch and forgot. My stylisation is also very different to James Brouwer's, so everyone looks pretty different and it's more obvious when I've drawn three canon characters instead of one.
I have also accidentally made Hammerhead two years older than he is in canon. Oops.
I didn't mean to make Finn look so fabulous, it just sorta happened when I gave him the braid. Finn is a mama's boy, and the morning hair brushing is bonding time. Maddy usually uses that time trying to get Hammerhead to tell her stories about his pirate exploits from before she and Finn were born.
Finn's also more athletic in a gymnastic kind of way in this AU, with Archidemia and Alpheus as his mentors, not that Alpheus is usually happy to have Finn around.
The face obscuring masks also have voice modulators, and the Dark Orca is a lot scarier here than in canon because of the creep factor the masks give them. Said creepiness is only a bonus, the main reason for the masks is anonymity that means Theo and the kids are free to visit her family in Yorkshire without the authorities recognising them.
I think I'll do a post about the cousin trio as of 2016 to fully explain everything going on with Finn, Alpheus, and Tallulah, but it basically boils down to Finn looking up to Alpheus as the older cousin, Alpheus experiencing the Cain instinct, and Tallulah being the only one who's been around kids her own age.
There are technically four people who remember that Tallulah's got an older brother: Narayana and Keda assume that Finn and Alpheus aren't counting him as one of Tom's because they've never met, Tom (ADHD King) remembers that he has a biological grandson in theory but doesn't really connect him to Tallulah because said grandson refuses to meet him, and Theo is keeping quiet about him because she's waiting for the funniest possible moment to mention that Tallulah is another member of the little sister club.
Cait doesn't count because she's the one who gave birth to Connor.
#Captain Hammerhead#Smiling Finn#Mad Madeline#The Deep cartoon#The Deep 2015#Theophania Barraclough#my art#my ocs#I feel like I'm probably mentioning Tallulah a lot in these but she's my main blorbo#I'm planning to make a joke about Alpheus and the Cain instinct

Fun character fact about Theo: She learned English in the lotus hotel so she speaks broken english and sometimes she just adds "jackpot" to the end of her sentences, and other casino terms
She also knows all the swears
I was telling my girlfriend about a pjo oc i made in middle school and it occurred to me that I should share it on here
I don't remember it much, but I reworked her based on what I did remember to make her better than a lame middle school oc lol
So, for some reason I named her Tiffany, which, as you'll see in a second, makes zero sense, but it's whatever.
Anyways, Tiffany (which I've decided must be a new name/nickname given to her recently) is the daughter of Pan who got stuck in the lotus hotel while it was still an island, before Pan ever went missing
Yeah, girl is OLD
But, she manages to get out of the hotel ("when did the island grow walls?") right around the time Pan died (gotta save your kid before you die forever, yknow?) (When asked how she got out she got out, she says something about "the wind was calling her")
I think the end goal was for her to join the hunters of artemis, but I don't remember too much
But, I mean it was a REALLY cool concept so I felt like I should share

Main OCs (Original Characters)
Tiffany - originally a D&D NPC in my first homebrew campaign (Heart of Atlantis my beloved), then I grew to love her too much to leave her alone.
Tiffany Mereign, ie Tiff, ie Theophania Athaliah Wilhelmina Fen’U-darah Mereign the Third, Queen of Atlantis, formerly Empress of the Atlantean Empire. Sea elf royalty, born on December 27th, took the throne with her father as Regent after the assassination of her mother Larethire II. She fully took the crown and throne in 1139-1140ce after killing her father Elias for his numerous crimes including the discovery that he was responsible for her mother's death.
The D&D campaign Tiff first appeared in took place in 1139-40ce where the player character party helped Tiff revive a dead goddess and use her power to kill the usurper king Elias and end a war that threatened their people. Said goddess cursed Tiff to die a thousand deaths (not by her own hand) before she can finally rest, all because Tiff rejected the offer of ascension to godhood.
Tiff handled her immortality curse... badly, to say the least. At least she met and married her loving supportive wives Cassie and Anya who help her with her chronic pain and substance addictions. Tiff is addicted to a substance known as heartstone, which is magically radioactive, which means Tiff has to wear protective clothing so that she doesn't irradiate everyone around her.
Rana - Ranarox La'Rouge, originally started as a Haunted One Bard/Rogue in a Curse of Strahd campaign, then got repurposed and fleshed out as my Dark Urge/Durge OC for Baldur's Gate 3. Raised in a circus and wooed by every pretty face they see, Rana does everything in their power to fend off the Red that swirls around their vision that brings the Urge to kill. If their eyes turn red and you are within melee range, it is already too late for you to run away.
Rana's 'canon' storyline has them falling in love with Shadowheart and Lae'Zel, finding a way to spare Minthara despite being tortured by her, rediscovering their past as the leader of the Bhaalist cult, and saving their daughter Mala from being sacrificed by Orin the Red. They found Mala (instead of Yenna) wandering around Rivington. Jaheira recognized her first as she had been acting as Mala's foster mother, since Rana had smuggled Mala away years prior to protect her from the cult (Rana was a victim of familial abuse and SA and Mala is a result of said abuse whom Rana vowed to protect from repeating the cycle of abuse). Rediscovering their progeny put them both in danger as Orin stalked the party and stole that which Rana only just got back.
Rana resorted to killing Orin to protect their child, and renounced Bhaal within the heart of his temple. Bhaal stole back their very blood and life force, disowning them. Rana only lives on because Jergal claimed them as his champion, and while the Red is never fully gone, they finally see clearly for the first time. Before disowning their murder god father, Rana's blood was black deathly ichor of the unholy god, but after Jergal claimed them, their blood became red full of life and vigor.
Ina - (Belongs to my friend Poe, I just happen to be obsessed with her and am the leader of Ina's fanclub) Ina the Kobold is a chaos entity, a zealous oath of glory paladin devoted to a deified Hatsune Miku. She came into existence after my friend rolled up a completely randomized character for a D&D game, and quickly speared her way into my heart with her wacky antics and hilarious zeal for murder.
A little known tidbit about Ina is that she's a sleeper agent, Ina is not her full name. Her true name is Ignition, which is the trigger word to temporarily switch her from chaotic stupid kobold to calculated smart dragonborn. Her Ignition alter ego is scarily competent compared to Ina. She was created in a secret magical experiment and hatched from a magically irradiated dragonborn egg. Ignition voluntarily switches back into Ina the minute whatever mission or danger she was dealing with is complete, as Ina takes far less mental energy to exist.
She is made as a contingency plan for Tiffany, so that in the case she as the queen ever goes off the rails and goes against her own morals, Ina will be there to kill her and bring her back to her senses.
Erinyes - My demonsona as it were, a self insert that morphed kind of into their own entity. They're a cheese-loving fury demon called Erin-yes. I often use them as a chaotic mini-me, and a personification of my silliness and rage. Sometimes I'll shove them into things with varied success. In D&D they'd be a tiefling or cambion as a player character, but as an NPC they've appeared as a literal erinyes devil that tried to sell cheese to the players and tormented them at various points.
Claire - My rage-filled mixed-drow religiously traumatized pyromaniac death cleric. She was raised in a cult to a goddess that stole the name of other gods - Adrestia Andraste, the Lady in White, a homebrew drow goddess of death and war and motherly retribution. Claire's drow mother was the high priestess of the Lady, and in order to become the next high priestess, Claire had to kill her mother in a ritual battle.
Claire walked over enchanted coals, was baptized in holy fire, and slayed a dragon to become the next high priestess of the cult; doing so made her fireproof to everything but her own goddess's flames. On her back they etched an intricate tattoo that brands her as her goddess's chosen, which also allows her goddess to cause her searing pain when she does something she doesn't like. A proverbial shock collar.
Claire is bitter and jaded and tries to escape the cult many times, and eventually discovers the truth of her goddess's identity theft and devotes herself to the goddess's sister Lotte (the victim of the identity theft) instead. Lotte is a drow goddess of fate, death, craftsmanship, and magic, and gives Claire the power to mend and tear the weave of magic itself. Claire is a chosen of both goddesses, one willingly, one unwillingly, and her mission is to break her ties to the Lady in White for good.
Frownless - Ah my favorite eldritch edgelord. Frownless, also called The Frownless or Freddie the Frownless or even Thotarella/Thot by my dnd group (an inside joke), is a shapeshifter known as a shadowless - he doesn't cast a shadow on the ground. Shadowless are akin to eldritch changelings that are descendants of fey celestials exiled to a demiplane. They appear as orange-tinged red haired elven people with four yellow eyes.
Frownless in particular is a notable specimen as he got exiled for killing his cousin in a fit of rage, then made a name for himself as an assassin and overall nuisance. He was hired by Tiff's father to kill her but failed miserably and ended up working for her in a weird toxic relationship instead. He tried dropping a chandelier on her and missed. He loves catfishing people since he's a shapeshifter. I love using him as a punching bag. He ends up Tiff's drug dealer at various points and brings out the worst in her.
OT - My old self insert that morphed into their own entity. This one in particular is tied to their dragon age dalish elf iteration as my main Inquisitor Lavellan. OT is a dalish mage Inquisitor and lover of Josephine Montilyet. Originally named Overtaker as a funny play on Undertaker, and then shortened it to OT for brevity, and even made it stand for different names involving the initials O and T. I even used them the first time I ever played D&D in a oneshot where they ended up dying via magic item enchanted to cast power word kill!
I have a lot of OCs but only a few I routinely use, which as of making this post consist of the above. Other OCs include Lyn, Vrei'Dara, Billie, Domi, Inanna, Dela, Johanna, Jorster, Francis, Lotte, Minaeve, Jamboree, Riff, Kestrel, Grimshaw, Veronica, Atlantea, Styx, Judith, and many others.
Others TBA
[edit 11/13/2024] - {I have streamlined this pinned post slightly, added some stuff, removed a few things}
Anyways enjoy my blog I guess? I'm so wordy at times, I know this is a whole ass wall of text to scroll through. You get an appreciative pat on the shoulder for reading through all this.

Had these Castlevania OCS bouncing around in my head for a while that finally made the transition to paper. Meet Raven Blackwood, a goth vampire enthusiast who just found out she has Belmont heritage, and Theophania (Tiffany) Rosewood, an upbeat vampire nurse who just wants to live a normal life after the fall of the vampire empire.

All my octopath ocs have fun family situations. There's Argus who wants his family to spontaneously explode, Claudia who wants to go back to her parents but can't, Tzipora who has an excellent relationship with her parents, Karlek and Pierre who thought they made a found family in the main group but we're sorely mistaken and Theophania who was 300% ready to become a lone wolf.
Obvious solution?
Kill Pierre and have the rest of them get adopted by Tzipora's parents <3
WHY ARE YOU KILLING OF PIERRE??????? THEY JUST WANTED TO MAKE A FOUND FAMILY IS THAT A CRIME NOW

Wednesday - Stories | OC Showcase
A conversation between Archidemia (Alpheus' mother) and Theophania (Hammerhead's wife)
This takes place in what I'm calling the Unfridged AU, where Hammerhead's wife doesn't die and Alpheus' parents exist, coincidentally as in-laws, sort of, because both Hammerhead and Archidemia were adopted, sort of. Hammerhead tells everyone a gremlin broke into his house one day and refused to leave, which is kinda not exactly wrong.
