TWST: The EPIC Saga

The Horse and the Infant

Main Character: Jamil Viper(Odysseus)

Technically Jamil x Oc. (I needed to have as many of the canon cast as possible)

I will be following the story of EPIC and by extension the Odyssey but with the names of twst characters and slight rewrites. Style: Songfic? I think?

A/N: Love you Yana! And love you Jorge! I hope I do this story justice

600 men were crammed into a wooden horse. They were all dressed in the Scalding Sands’ traditional soldier’s uniform. They wait with bated breath as they feel the horse begin to move into the capital city of the Kingdom of Heroes. They all turn to their commander, a young man with long, dark, hair, and calculated grey eyes. He sighs and looks to the men around him.

“Alright my brothers, listen closely. Tonight we make those “heroes” pay. Ten years of war they’ve killed us slowly, but tonight we’ll be the ones who slay!”

A buzz of cheers ricochets throughout the horse. He waits for it to die down before starting again, “Think of your wives and your children,” He looks at the snake armband around his right upper arm, ”Your family’s wondering where you’ve been. They’re growing old and yet you’re still here.”

He looks at his men again, admiring the determination in their gaze.

“Do what I say and you’ll see them again,” He offers.

“Yes sir!” The army shouts. It’s overwhelming and would get them found out without the soundproofing spell. He begins to assign specific duties to his best soldiers.

“Jack will lead the charge,” A tall wolf beastman nods.

“Sebek will flank the guard, Silver will let our mates through the gate and take the whole city at large, Rook will shoot any ambush attack, and Epel will stay back,” He waits for each man to nod before continuing, “Sam, secure the princess and protect her, and Floyd, avenge your father, kill the brothers of Rielle!”

“Yes sir!”

The captain’s eyes glow slightly red, giving a binding order to his men, “Find that inner strength now, use that well of pride, fight through every pain now, ask yourself inside: What do live for, what do you fight for, what do you wish for, what do you try for?”

The men echo the last sentiment as the order solidifies. The horse begins to move.

He takes the armband and turns it over in his hands. He thought back to his homeland where people, specifically someone was waiting for him. He sees a woman, his wife, y/n and a small bundle in her hands, their son, Carmon. He slips the gold snake band back onto his arm.

I fight for us.

He can hear the soldiers around him asks each other who they’re living for. Y/n

Who they’re trying for.

Carmon

Who they’re wishing for. He sighs in preparation as he can feel the wooden horse beginning to stop moving.

I’m on my way

Who they’re fighting for. The horse stops moving and the door on the neck slowly starts to open. The soldiers hug the shadows until it opens enough for them to safely jump down. The moment finally comes.

“Attack!” He shouts and the soldiers rush the unsuspecting citizens and army, beginning to slaughter them.

The Scalding Sands’ men are suffering no casualties. Spells of all kinds fly throughout the battlefield. The captain had just finished clearing out a unit of archers until he notices someone behind him. He tries to react but the assailant thrusts a blade through his stomach. He lets out a gut-wrenching scream, trying to grab the blade.

But he finds nothing. Because he wasn’t stabbed.

“What…was that?” He asks, turning behind him to see a tall man with jet black hair, pointed ears, and horns. Malleus, the king of the gods.

Malleus smiles at him and speaks with a deep voice, “A vision, of what is to come. Cannot be outrun, can only be dealt with right here and now.”

Jamil swallows, “Tell me how.”

Malleus chuckles, “I don’t think you’re ready,” he points to the captain, “A mission, to kill someone’s son. A foe who won’t run, it can only be dealt with right here and now.”

“Tell me how. I know that I’m ready.”

“I don’t think you’re ready,” Malleus snaps his fingers and a bundle of blankets float gently into his arms. The captain pulls back the blanket and is greeted with a small, sleeping face. He looks at it horrified.

“It’s just an infant…it’s just a boy. What sort of imminent threat does he pose that I can’t avoid?”

“This is the son of none other of the Kingdom of Heroes very own prince. He will grow from a boy do an avenger. One fueled by rage, if you’re consumed by age,” A group of gods appear behind him, joining Malleus in the prophecy, “If you don’t end him now, you’ll have nothing else to save.”

Malleus grins, “You can say goodbye to y/n.”

The captain looks around panicked, trying to find a solution that does not involve killing the innocent child, “I could raise him as my own.”

Malleus sighs, “He will burn your house and throne.”

“Send him far away from home.”

“He will find wherever you roam.”

“Make sure his past is never known!”

“The gods will make him know.”

“I’d rather bleed for you!”

“This is the will of the gods,” Malleus glares at the captain with an air of finality. The captain looks from the god, to the infant, and back to the god.

“Please don’t make me do this…Don’t make me do this!” His voice is strained. For once, the god looks at him with sympathy and places his hand on his shoulder.

“The blood on your hands is something you won’t lose,” He begins to fade away, “All you can choose is whose…”

He leave the captain alone with the infant. He stares at the burning city around him, before slowly walking to the edge of the wall….

Bess, however, grew up on tales of adventure and comradery, knight dragons, the whole shebang. So she decided to leave when she was 18 and was supposed to be sworn in as sheriff, she even has the badge!

Now, Bess or Bessy as I prefer, walk t' world meetin' fellas who dunno what a gun is, fightin' dragons and beasties, and meetin' studs and sluts ta fill mah needs~

Hello! Thank you for the question; I would love to! I’m glad my posts can brighten your day. Wishing you the best!

I have a couple of OCs, including (but not limited to) my dwarf and Urgal Riders and their dragons.

The first is Livik, my dwarf OC. He, a member of clan Feldûnost, comes from a large family, consisting of his mother (Ahdra), his three older brothers (Asdan, Danik, and Urif) and two little sisters (Dahlia and Alluna) as his immediate family members. He has vibrant red hair, a matching temper, but a good heart. He has brown-green eyes. He is one of the most compassionate of Eragon’s early students, and Eragon found him easy to get along with, though they had their challenges, as Livik was stubborn, driven, and rather afraid of heights. His dragon, Ura, is a vibrant purple, and is a rock to Livik’s more unpredictable thoughts. She is calm and laid back, but a bit lazy at times.

The second is Garzad, from a village not so far from Carvahall. He is the son of a past leader, but did not kill a cave bear and therefore was unable to claim the role as his father had. Instead, he was presented the egg of Navak, a bronze-brown dragon with gold eyes and an enthusiastic (and slightly impulsive) curious personality, who bore horns that began to curl as he got older and a stockier build than most dragons, making him a slow flier but one of the strongest hatchlings. Garzad initially had a bad rivalry with Livik, but the two are now good friends.

Another OC would be Erwin, who was the first of Eragon’s elven students. He comes from a short line of scions and has the ego to show for it. He is very vain, but Eragon tries to keep his arrogance in check, and so does his silver dragon, Celeste. Celeste is a spitfire, but very practical and incredibly intelligent. Erwin’s brother, Eldin, lives in Sílthrim, and they visit one another ever Dagshelgr since Erwin completed his training. Erwin has a starlight blonde hair cut just past the shoulders, brown eyes, and an admittedly fair face. He is tall, but more in the torso than the legs, making him a better archer and fighter than runner.

Other OC’s would include:

-Asuna, a character of a short romantic relationship Eragon had in an AU fanfiction. After she was unfaithful, the relationship ended and she left Arngor. Her behavior led to a conversation with Arya that led Eragon and Arya to rekindle their friendship a bit more, eventually leading to their own romance.

-Kendrick, a soldier Eragon spoke with in the Varden while trapped in the medical tents. They became friends during this time.

-Dura, a female dwarf Rider who, with her dragon Namír, joins Eragon’s students some thirty years after Arngor Academy’s establishment. Others exist and will be elaborated on in the future! Thank you again for asking and take care!

im currently making a phighting! Oc. Her name is archer and Is a ranged phighter! She was a war medic but always wanted to be on the battlefield rather than healing, she has massive respect for medkit because of this reason. Her weapon is a bow and arrow and since my other oc, catapult, is here best friend she's learned to shoot arrows with special effects/things attached to her

She's great and all but the a problem rises: She's based of a ram but im not sure what horns to give her

Description-

Aerol is an below average height boy at around 5'5. He has a darker olive skin, with a slim build and long straight metallic golden hair that falls in front of his face slightly if not tucked behind his ear. His eyes are also metallic gold, and he has metallic gold freckles, all of which can make him stand out in a crowd. He is a human.

Aerol wears his uniform properly, and wears a gold clip-on nose ring on his right (Viewers left) nostril. He normally looks 'less approachable' than his brother, Abrik. He has a scar on the left (his left) side of his chest. He is an identical twin, and is nearly indistinguishable from his brother if you haven't memorised the placement of his freckles. He used to have braces.

Personality/Character traits-

Aerol is introverted and a little blunt compared to his brother, but genuinely means well. He has an interest in entomology, and has a pet rhinoceros beetle called Papaya. He has epilepsy, caused by a mix of a gene and overuse of his soothsaying abilities from a young age. Along with this, he has a magic illness from the same cause, which results in a focal seizure-esque episode, with symptoms that involve random flashes of futures, and muttering to himself blankly. These always happen in sync with his brother, and can be stopped by bumping their heads together. The epilepsy has no link to his twin, and is the same as it would be for a non-magic user.

Aerol shares a room with his brother, and is very close with him, though wishes they could have more time apart, once quoting that he 'gets angry seeing his own reflection too early in the morning'. He can work with him with little conversation or direction required.

He is surprisingly athletic, and is able to run away from danger in a parkour like fashion (I got the idea from watching the 'one jump ahead' scene :D). He is flexible, and can perform a few acrobatic tricks. However, he has never been given any training in self-defence.

He and his brother are very talented and renowned fortune-tellers, and were born with extreme skills in the practice. They travel a lot to tell futures, through no desire of their own.

His unique magic 'Beyond Elytra' allows him to show brief prophecies to people through sand-like structures, similar to the cave of wonders. These are fated to be true in one way or another, unlike most predictions, which can be altered slightly. It needs to be done at the same time as his brother, with both of their heads put together, Aerol on the left, Abrik on the right. It results in fully golden eyes, and one mandible-like horn on his head. They speak saying the pronoun 'I', rather than 'we'. This spell takes a great toll on them both.

Second Squad Differences From Canon

Alpha Girl Latifah

-half oni from her mother

-Japanese/Chinese

-Can speak Chinese, English, and Japanese fluently

-Grew up in Hidden Kingdom, but was still connected to her Oni roots through her mother.

-Normally her only oni features are her teeth and nails, but over time she gains the ability to bring out more Oni. This means getting taller, having red skin like her mother, long elf like ears, long horns on her head, elemental magic (hers is specifically water and fire), and a crooked tail (a very rare trait in Onis)

-has been with Kowloon for years, the two both a couple and each other’s best friends

Kowloon

-came from a rough background, as his father is/was the leader of the black dragon mafia. His mom was nice, but she was unfortunately killed when Kowloon II (he's named after his father) was only 5. His father then abandoned him, leaving the police to find him after a few days. He then lived with his maternal grandmother for years until a few years before he joined Big Green. After his grandmother passed away, he moved in with his martial arts mentor who had become a father figure to him.

-his family on his dad’s side has a dragon curse. It works like the owl beast curse in terms of sharing a body with a creature. The black dragon is a sentient being who can speak though, and his soul is literally fused with whomever has the curse. This curse allows whoever has it to use Dragon abilities and have Dragon traits, turning into one at the light of the full moon. Kowloon broke the cycle of his family by not only breaking down the mafia his bloodline had established, but by accepting the dragon curse as part of him rather than as a means to an end.

-he has PTSD from all he's been through, something he's been able to cope with thanks to help.

-he’s less of a dickhead and more goofy silly, but in exchange I just gave him a ton of trauma

Archer Lee

-has various conditions that made his parents worry about him joining the military, but he's been able to cope.

-one of these conditions affects his voice, explaining why it changes

-he takes after his father while his brother takes after their mother

-the younger brother

-is in a relationship with @knowyourhero OC Hikari, the princess of Japan who ran away from home and then joined Big Green as their Barber

Hurricane Lee

-not interested in a relationship or having kids, just kinda vibes

-can't speak English as well as Russian or Chinese. He also has a noticeable Russian accent. Archer Lee had an easier time picking up on English, but doesn't speak much in general.

-mostly the same except he has a wife and two kids

Zorro (MotM)

Zorro does not have any links because I've neglected them oops LORE: Zorro used his dark magic too much and got completely turned into a demon. Lucifer (Queen of Hell blah blah blah) fell in love with them, she turned out to be (surprise) a terrible person and they overthrew her. Now they rule the underworld and occasionally assist Jason in his objectives as they are (technically) best friends.

Elflacon (DnD)

Elfalcon is my (dead :/ ) DnD Character. Since I've played him last though he's gotten a complete glow-up and re-write so here is the new-and-improved Elfalcon. LORE: Elfalcon is a Drow Elf who would be a royal prince if he hadn't been outcast by his family for being cursed. His Drow bloodline takes their lineage very seriously, so when he was cursed to become a Tiefling at night (in hopes that his family would be more accepting of Tieflings) they were outraged and banished him. He has since become a rogue with the intent to slowly whittle away at his families wealth and most valued treasures over time until they seek his assistance with catching this thief and accept him back into the family. At this point though he mostly just steals because fuck his family lol

Arrow is my Minecraft Character I'm not actually sure if this counts as an OC, but... I'm submitting him anyway so take that LORE: Arrow is a blind archer (yes, blind.) He prefers Archery over anything else Minecraft related and prefers to hang out with his friends while doing so. Sun (Green hoodie) is his best friend, Breeze (blue hair and horns) is the Mom Friend and Panda (Pink hair) is the Little Sister friend that is completely unhinged. Arrow will match whatever energy you give him, and has the personality of a golden retriever.

Kite

Kite is my TES Skyrim Khajiit (or Tabaxi if you speak D&D) with the stealth archer build. Kite honestly flips between being male and female in my head so they can be drawn as either or neither or both! LORE: Besides being the last dragonborn (and completely abusing that title) they've joined the Dark Brotherhood and became a Nightingale for the Thieves Guild. Kite enjoys doing trick shots with the bow, consuming every cheese wheel in sight, catching butterflies and decorating NPCs bodies (which may or may not be her doing) and committing unspeakable atrocities upon the townspeople of Falkreath. They're the most proficient in archery and thief skills, whatever that may be, and destruction magic, for some reason. Other than that he pretty much sucks at everything from blacksmithing to healing magic.

Depending on how much you've read already these might already be something you know :'D

Quill is part fruitbat, part deer, part dog, part praying mantis, part bird (could be a parrot given his ability to learn words) and possibly part snake.

Quill hasn't learned to speak in full sentences so he communicates with single words like "hi", "road" (his way of asking to go for a walk), and "bed" (his way of saying goodnight).

Quill has learned to weave with his secondary pair of arms (I call them his mantis arms).

Quill learns new words through echolalia which in short is that he echoes a word you say to him in the same tonality back at you (it is often seen with autistic people).

While Quill can speak a few words his vocal chords are actually better suited for high pitched bird like sounds so he is often found echoing bird twitter/song.

Oh no his story isn't that tragic :'D Quill was bred in captivity to be a housepet. Phoenix found Quill at a parisian adoption center where the little guy had been given up since nobody had wanted to adopt him from the breeder. Phoenix themselves being a chimera chose to adopt Quill as a sort of son. Quill is often seen helping Phoenix carry around their arrows (Phoenix are an archer amongst other things) - actually this is how Quill got his name. :3

Oc / DND stuff update

After finally deciding to commit to making my characters into D&D characters look so much better than they did, not to mention the story is so much more cohesive it makes so much more sense.

Quite a lot of them were heavily DnD inspired anyways so taking the full dive of making them into DnD characters has only benefited their appearances and their personalities.

Prime example with Atlas! He fits being a shadow god's patron warlock/artificer tiefling so well, he already had the horns in the tail and just the general vibe, but now instead of being a chaotic mess of I don't know exactly what you're meant to be they just make sense

THEN with Jaymes him being a ranger and a half elf just works so well(I'm not even kidding when I was looking into half elves for references a picture of the default half elf from baldur's gate 3 came up and he literally just looks like Jaymes.... Which I mean is kind of hilarious), and it especially fits him better with the fact he is also part barbarian. So he is the stoic common collected but very protective archer, who's very in tune with nature, and is a great Hunter and tracker, but at the same time has such a temper and is especially quick to anger when someone hurts Atlas or someone else he cares about and just goes into full barbaric rage and steals Ty's sword. Which is even better because he has no idea he's also part barbarian, he just thinks he has anger issues XD.

Speaking of Ty, he works so much better as a character after changing him to a half orc cleric.

Donnie and lily make so much sense and actually have solid reasons for why they are the way they are. SAME GOES FOR MAX!!!!

And I know just saying the names doesn't really help explain who they are but I'll hopefully post more about them soon so they aren't complete strangers XD

Meet Jasira and Seren! These are my old TDP ocs that I created a few years ago, drawn in full color for the first time!

Jasira (left) is the older of the two by a few months, and has a reason she hides part of her face with her hair. She enjoys games and traveling, and her old dream was to be an archer, before The Incident.

Seren (right) has a grandparent who was a Sunfire elf (making her ¾ Moonshadow and ¼ Sunfire) hence her straighter horns and more warm complexion. She is also blind due to the same incident that caused the reason Jasira hides half of her face. She is also a mage!

I will be posting a comic centering these two and their relationship sometime later once I get a better feel for digital art.
