I've been re-watching some of Harlots, and it's interesting because I start to think "God, all of these characters are kind of terrible people to one degree or another"

And then I stop and realize that 99% of the female character characters have some kind of sexual trauma in their past (and sometimes their present too), and absolutely none of them will be able to get any kind of help for it because therapy won't exist for another few centuries

It's literally just "women with PTSD try to get through their lives as best they can" the TV show

Out of Flavour: Tasteless desires from an avaricious empire

In 1845, Sir John Franklin led a costly polar exploration in which no one survived. His wife, Lady Jane Franklin, financed numerous search parties, some of which left canned foods on the Arctic ice in the desperate hope that her husband would find them. Other strategies included capturing Arctic foxes to which notes were attached to tell any survivors where to find food.

When reports from later suggested the crew resorted to cannibalism, Lady Jane requested Charles Dickens redeem her husband's reputation by reporting the crew's remains were not mutilated, but they had died 'passively' from cold and hunger.

... While the cans reflect poverty and thrift, Kneebone's zoomorphic cutlery set evokes the unquenchable greed and folly of the British Empire ...

In 1845, Tasmania's ex-Governor Sir John Franklin travelled with his own personalised cutlery set on his costly and ill-fated Arctic expedition.

The litter piece references Lady Jane Franklin's travels through the wilderness of lutruwita/Tasmania, where she was carried by convicts on a sedan chair/litter.

We were robbed of a Hueso Jr. episode because good god I need he and Leo to interact.

I can just imagine an episode where a very busy Hueso has no choice but to ask Leo to babysit, and Leo’s like heck yeah I’d rock at that.

And of course Hueso is constantly like oh god what if something goes wrong that’s PEPINO he left with his CHILD.

So continuously throughout the episode he imagines the worst case scenarios for what could possibly be happening.

Every time Hueso imagines another catastrophic scenario the scene cuts back to Leo and Hueso Jr just calmly watching a movie or playing a game or something else equally as innocuous.

Eventually the worry gets to Hueso so much that he cuts his business short and races back home to see -

A peacefully sleeping Hueso Jr smiling as he lays snuggled up next to a shockingly quiet Leonardo.

He’s pleasantly surprised, and agrees to ask for Leo again next time he needs a babysitter.

Or, as it seems he may need to, when Hueso Jr. wants Leo to visit.

After Chen’s tournament, Nya was uncontrollably tense around Kai. She truly believed her brother betrayed and left her for dead and that hurt. More than she was willing to admit. She felt so utterly betrayed, thinking her own brother, her flesh and blood, the only person who was there from the beginning to now, would so easily leave her for dead for someone else. Someone who was more worth it. More useful. After everything was resolved, she couldn’t help the way she would tense around him, or feel unnecessarily jealous when her brother started actively avoiding her thinking she wanted space like usual, even if he didn’t know why as he went to hang out with the others more. Yet when he opened his door at 3am and was swamped with an armful of a sobbing Nya saying he can’t just leave her like that he realised he may have made a mistake. And then started crying guiltily right after.

Sometimes Lloyd would look at the ninja and realise these were his brothers, his sisters, his family. And at one point, they left him alone as they mocked him. He still remembers the looks on their younger faces as they laughed at him, or the way Nya used to look annoyed with him, or when Wu would have no idea how to deal with him. In his depression he pranks them just as horribly as he used to and would lock his door and pout as he reads the comics he stole from Jay’s room with tears in his eyes as the others tell him to fix the messes he made. Then he would open the door, looking like a mess, glare at all of his siblings who now look heavily concerned, and hold a certain finger up before smashing the door closed again.

Kai would sometimes remember how he acted when he and the other met and would feel so down about it. He would go silent and start being overly conscious of everything he says and does to make sure he doesn’t do anything bad and wrong. It disturbs the others both seeing the Kai they’re used too and instead a much more quieter, hesitant one.

Morro constantly feels like he’s being watched, even when he’s all alone in a room he can trust, because he remembers the all watching eye of the Preeminent constantly laying on him as a reminder that he will never be free of the burdens and expectations that lay on his shoulders.
