Unpopular Opinion (please don’t kill me)

I feel like I’m the only one okayish with Solmare getting rid of the Birthday events.

The first couple in SWD were great because they were only one lesson long but then all future birthday events ended up being multi-lesson with extra branches which required keys. They’d come after equally long events, leaving no breathing room. It burnt me out.

Besides that, if it wasn’t a popular brother, the event seemed to focus on spending time with every single character equally instead of the birthday character. (I get so tired of scenes with all the other characters when it’s supposed to be a certain character’s birthday and the twins always have to have theirs’ together.) Don’t get me started on Dia’s first birthday event. I’m still salty.

I’m not defending Solmare, as you can tell. They could have improved the birthday events instead of cutting them entirely. One detailed lesson with all the spotlight and most of the dialogue on the birthday character would have sufficed plus a nightmare.

But I’d seriously rather them just stop the birthday events at this point rather than continue them like they had been.

Please don’t rip me apart. I just wanted to voice my long standing frustrations with the birthday events I’ve never voiced before.
