Pink Poodle Makeup

Let's face it. Coquette has become boring as hell. Gone are the days of tongue-in-cheek vulgarity and campy, over the top plays of femininity. I say we bring things back to the more fun aspects: garish and fun. And for this i'm taking inspiration from fabulous pink poodles. Think your grandma's kitschy pink house, bold eyes and lips and that gorgeous canine dressed in bows with a eye catching fur design. It's big, bold, glamorous and fun.

Base

A thin line between satiny and plastic. You want to have full coverage, avoid the skin peeking through, instead focus on getting a completely flawless finish. It's ok if you choose to go matte or demi-matte with foundation here as additional shine will be added later. Conceal how you normally would, but avoid harsh contour, or refrain from contour completely. This is also a great time to underpaint if you want a more kitschy look. When powdering, ensure that it's a pink or lavender loose powder. Remember: you're not trying to look natural.

Face

Blush should be bold, keep it to bubblegum pinks or peaches depending on your skin tone and apply on the apples to start then drag the blush upwards towards the cheek bone. Nyx Buttermelt Pressed Powder Blush in My Butta Half & Butta Together. This is also the step to add more shine to the face if you wore a matte foundation. Liquid highlighter is best, especially in pink/pearlescent tones. Apply to nose bridge, nose tip, brow bone, high points of the cheek and cupids bow. Try Benefit High Beam Satin Pink Liquid Highlighter or Fenty Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter in Wattabrat

Brows

You can do your brows normally, or you can go for a late 50s - early 1960s style brow. These brows are thicker, fluffier but well groomed. Don't think soap brow. Go for a relatively defined arch-- no straight brows. But the arch can be rounded or sharp depending on preference.

Eyes

Eyes are the most fun, as you can go two ways. First lets start with eyeliner, you can either simple follow your natural eyeshape with no wing (recommended if going for the first eyeshadow look) or go for again a classic cat eye. When it comes to shadow, the first option is leaning into candy colors: blue, purple and pink. Liquid eye paints like the Half Magic Chromeaddiction Matte in Sky Juice are perfect as they are vivid and don't budge. Apply all over the lid and then go in with your biggest, most flirtatious lashes.

Another option is the classic 60s cut crease. For this I recommend MAKEUP BY MARIO Master Mattes Eyeshadow Palette: The Neutrals. Start with a neutral base (relative to your skin tone), then with a cool brown shadow apply directly to the crease, wing it out if desired and again add you liner and lashes. For extra camp, apply lashes to the bottom lash as well. Be sure to blend with mascara (such as Too Faced Better Than Sex) or if forgoing lashes, apply thick coats of mascara. An eyeshadow primer is recommended.

Lips

Finally tying the look all together is the lips. My preferred look, is to do a matte cherry red like Fenty Icon Velvet Liquid Lipstick in H.B.I.C paired with the blue eye look and a bubblegum or peachy pink with the cut crease. For the truest bubblegum pink look no further than MAC Candy Yum-Yum. Or to tone it down with a classic 60s pink lip you can wear Revlon Pink in the Afternoon, famously worn by icon Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's. A nice middle ground between the two would be Maybelline Super Stay Teddy Tint in Petalcore. To avoid going too matte, top with gloss such as 3D Hydra Lipgloss in 33.

WIP

The Nature prompt for Elucien week was supposed to be a small little drabble. But a certain red headed kid ran off with the plot. Literally.

Cricket’s bare feet pounded the damp earth as she skipped across the clearing, heading right for the high stalks of orange lilies that crept up along the edges. Taking great care, she plucked a few and raced back, huffing a weak, “Look!” as she held up her treasures.

“Oh, Cricket, where did you find these?” Mama said as Cricket plopped down on her lap.

“Over by the thicket, they’re early this year!” Cricket exclaimed proudly as Mama cuddled her, softly kissing her cheek. Cricket could smell the soft smell of baby Froggy under her normal scent of flowers and honey cakes. She nestled closer into Mama’s lap, happy that she could be with her alone again. Her baby sister was always around nursing or napping, but Froggy was only a few months old, so she couldn’t help it. But it seemed that everyone was hovering around these days. When Froggy was born, all her aunts and uncles from the Night Court came, but they were too busy with the new baby to really play with her. Cricket wasn’t angry about it, but she couldn’t help but feel lonely when Uncle Cassian didn’t ruffle her hair and Aunt Feyre didn’t call her ‘cuddle bug’. Nyx went off with some of the older boys at the court and didn’t want to play with her. Grandpapa was throwing a big party that she couldn’t go to. Uncle Eris did spend some time with her before he had to leave, but he was only there for a day. So she quietly sat by, waiting for her turn to hold her baby sister.

Mama took a sniff of Cricket’s hair, tucking the wild strands behind her ears. Mama said that Cricket smelled like honeysuckles and morning dew, so maybe she smelled extra good today.

“What do you think Froggy will smell like?” Cricket wondered out loud. Her sister had that fresh, milky scent of infancy that went with her soft skin that went sour when she spit up.

“Hmmm,” Mama thought for a minute, “I think she smells like flowers too, but I don’t know which ones.” Cricket pondered for a moment too, scrunching her face as she tried to think of something.

“Wisteria!” she squealed as she turned to face Mama, “Froggy smells like the wisteria on the balcony! And poo!” Mama laughed, and blew a raspberry into Cricket’s cheek. She felt Mama’s deft fingers begin to weave flowers into her hair, it was still short, barely reaching her chin, after having to cut it after Winter Solstice, when she took a candy apple to bed and forgot about it. Nyx said she looked like a poodle, but she liked it. Mama and Papa said it suited her too. She closed her eyes as Mama softly threaded hair into stems.

“You’ve been so good and helpful lately Cricket, I know it’s been hard with a new baby sister.” Mama said softly, “You are the best big sister anyone could have.”

“Even better than Aunt Nesta?” Cricket gasped.

“Oh, yes. Even better and Aunt Nesta will say the same thing.”

Cricket’s chest swelled with pride. She had been trying so hard to help. She changed diapers, and held her as much as she could. And she did all of her chores and wasn’t naughty, or at least she tried not to be. Froggy cried a lot, but she loved her sister's duck feather hair and the way her tiny fingers gripped her thumb when she held her. Aunt Nesta said that being a big sister was the most important job, more important than being a Valkyrie or a High Lord.

He will always allow you to sing! you don't even need to ask. He'll join if you want. He loves dancing with you, he'll hold you close during a slow song... or... if the song suits he'll show off his full set of dance moves (think rats video).

He dotes on your poodle, he understands why you love them so much. Also the rats get on well with you poodle. Being Copia's rats they just seem to know how to get on with pretty much any animal as long as Copia likes them.

“It’s nothing.” It has been a while since Sasuke had actually hurt himself with his own fireball jutsu. Despite it being an iconic skill Uchihas were supposed to master, it could go horribly wrong. There was no taming fire in the end, he always had to be cautious not to fall victim to his own ability. 

So of course Nyx had decided to stroll around in his bathing shorts right when Sasuke had taken a deep breath and unleashed the flames. He was currently training to put more power into it, and hadn’t expect Nyx to go swimming at the lake. When Sasuke had seen Nyx, he had choked on his own spit and heat, and almost burned his entire tongue off. 

Putting the fire out with some a jump into the lake seemed like the best option, and now Sasuke sat on the grass, looking like a wet poodle, with his wet clothes sticking to his form. His left cheek was slightly charred and he sighed, dark eyes shooting Nyx an annoyed and slightly flustered look. “Can you warn me next time.”

I’m such a child at heart ♡ I visited my Nonna and she was so happy - she gave me some cookies to take back to school! Also my daddy got me some Italian cookies so I can give some to my counselor :’)

I just want to point out that my inner corner highlight on the Viktor one (left) is a shadow from the Too Faced Natural Love collection called “Poodle.”

Viktor’s is from a bunch of different palettes: Too Faced Natural Love “Poodle,” “Bunny Nose,” “Lace Teddy”; Too Faced Totally Cute “I <3 TF”; ABH Modern Renaissance “Buon Fresco,” “Love Letter,” “Venetian Red”; Too Faced Glamour Dust (glitter) in “Glitterly” sprinkled on the lid (this eyeshadow almost made me late for work I did so much blending and little baby splashes of different colors to get that odd pink-purple-mauve)

Yuuri’s is much simpler: Wet’n’Wild ColorIcon eyeshadow palette in “394A I’m His Breezy”; Palladio Crushed metallic eyeshadow in “Blue Moon”; NYX Hot Singles eyeshadow in “Diamond Lust”

ColourPop Pressed Eyeshadow Haul

I haven't done a haul in a long time and since I am beginning the 100 Days of Makeup on Instagram, I thought it would be a brilliant idea to get some of ColourPop's pressed eyeshadows so I would have a variety of colors to play with. In addition to the NYX Hot Single Eyeshadows that I already have. So I got myself just enough to fill in the rest of my double-sided Z palette that I store my NYX shadows inside of after I depotted those.

The shadows that I got were the following, I believe there was a deal going on for buy 2 get 1 50% off or something similar (normally each shadow is $5):

Aw yeah we're going round 7. Going to try thinblood again!

Will try my 'main' run. High-humanity, siding with Gor. Aleki, instead of fixing computers, was a PhD student, but still enjoyed going dancing. Still had an ex, named Marios. First conviction: protect the innocent (and the reason for his name, lbr). We're going with Tzimisce origin for my thinblood runs, so Auspex first, then Animalism (because I goddamn love that Animalism-second description. Stole a poodle! It was an accident, really). Then, cap it off with Obfuscate (always useful!) and Fortitude. Second conviction, don't kill. Feminine guy, there's no option for like... forestcore (frogs! Mushrooms!) so I went with quirky librarian lmao. He is going to be so Soft(tm).

Started a romance route with Gor. Why not :D

Bat friend bat friend!! Let's call her Nyx!

Nyx joins you on the way home, flying above your head in circles, like some kind of cursed halo. Before you enter the house, it actually sits on your shoulder. Markos is there, staring at you, a questioning look on his face, one eyebrow raised.

"Yes, what?" you say. "I am the night."

Still defended Gor, still sucked at diplomacy so he seemed more amused than anything, we're now having a Moment in an alley and just had a first kiss :3

"I'm not playing," you say.

He doesn't answer. He pulls you closer again, but he doesn't kiss you. Instead, he puts his hands on your face, wipes away the rain and looks at you for a long time, the way someone would do if trying to memorize your features. He traces your bone structure with his fingers, as if he might discern there some truth, some prophecy of what will come of this connection between you.

"Neither am I," he says then. "I am too old for games. Too old and too tired." He pauses. "And I have been manipulated for too long, in too many ways. I need someone true, now."

"Do you trust me?"

He takes a moment, then nods, and nods again. "Yes," he says. "Yes. Even if it means my end, I'd rather exist in a world where I can trust you, than spend whatever time I have left in suspicion and misery." He kisses you again. Then, he whispers your name, just once. "Aleki."

Like a promise.

Spared Savvas. Should be interesting later on.

Ohh boy moment of truth. Let's see if we can evade Kapriel XD;;

That. That would be a nope :( Aaand blood-bound. This time, dragged back to Sophia, who then dragged poor Aleki to the Prince, then basically just went 'oh yeah lol you're a thinblood'. In this version, Neoptolemos plotted with Sophia due to the Prince killing his thinblood lover. Prince dispatches Sophia and Neoptolemos and poor Aleki gets branded.

Oof. Wasn't quite persuasive enough to convince Selene to let Aleki take her place :(

Poor guy is having a Time. SI shows up and basically wipes out the Camarilla (but hey, got an achievement!), Kapriel finds Aleki and keeps him in a fucking well, eventually gets rescued by Vole thank you Vole ilu. Poor guy is in a state - lost his current lover, lost his ex, Persa leaves under bitter circumstances. Turns out saving Savvas did do something - the end scene is now with him, two melancholy people who lost everything.

At dawn, when you get home, you find it on your mind, in the darkness behind your eyelids: a great maw, its teeth sharp and plentiful, its Hunger insatiable, familiar. It, Aristovoros, the Beast; it's all the same thing, after all, isn't it? You reach out your hand and touch it.

And then, for a moment, for the briefest, most fleeting of moments, the Beast is not a Beast at all. Only a man. He has your face, answers to your name. He opens his mouth and swallows you.

Time for Sins of the Sires! Going to liveblog my first run here. The writer's last game emotionally ruined me so this should be interesting.

My character will be Elias Katsaros, or, essentially, AU Pyre XD Fixed computers, went dancing in clubs. Let's go with Julian as an ex! Disciplines... not seeing Blood Sorcery there. Going with Obfuscate for the first one, then Celerity, which should hopefully lead to it. Third discipline... hmm, Animalism, Auspex, Dominate, Fortitude, or Potence... fuck it, Auspex. Then Animalism. Damn this is one tanky neonate. 9 dots in disciplines already!

Oh yeah this definitely has similar vibes to Rent-a-Vice so far, writing-wise.
