Things that can be explained by POV switches

If you haven't read this analysis, you should start with that!

A list:

Crowley's hair and sideburns changing.

2. The Bentley changing. When it's Aziraphale's perspective, it's a four-door. From Crowley's it's two-door.

3. Gabriel's statue and the disappearing cross. From Gabriel's perspective, there's a cross. From Beelzebub's there is not. I wonder if it's because Gabriel sees himself as bearing some sort of burden?

4. Honolulu roast sign in Nina's shop. I wonder if that's because we switch to Nina's perspective, she knows the sign is there, she hung it. But someone notices it and someone doesn't.

5. Differing title/location cards? I bet they will give us a clue as to whose perspective we're about to see through if we pay attention to how they change.

6. The drawing of Gabriel being different when Aziraphale draws it versus when he shows it in the pub. When he draws it, we're seeing through his eyes, but when he shows it, we're seeing through Crowley's.

7. Possibly the Resurrectionist pub sign -- one of Mr. Dalrymple with a cleaver, one of him with a scalpel. Someone remembers him as a butcher, someone remembers him as a surgeon. I think we can tell who.

8. The vanishing/reappearing storefront signs in Whickber street. Someone knows exactly what shops are where, someone doesn't notice.

9. The streets and castle in Edinburgh when Aziraphale visits -- cobblestones versus paved; the castle in the background in every shot from every angle.

10. Several of the weird background noises can be explained by POV, but I don't think all of them.

11. Crowley's sunglasses changing? That one is iffy to me. Because they're silver for half the show, then black for the second half. If that were a POV switch, you'd think they'd change back and forth more often.

12. Crowley throwing books. And being nice to Jim. And wearing sleeve garters. He's telling Aziraphale on the phone what's going on, and we're seeing Aziraphale's image of it in his mind. That's almost certainly not what happened, but the gist is close enough.

13. Aziraphale's over-the-top reporter cosplay right after he is gently amused at Muriel's over-the-top constable cosplay. He's telling Crowley on the phone what's happening, and Crowley is imagining how it's going. Aziraphale's reporter persona is probably not as inconspicuous as he thinks, but it's probably not as cute and silly as Crowley imagines.

14. Gabriel not coming down the lift in the Dirty Donkey. Maggie and Nina see him first, they don't know about the lift, so they see him just walking down the street, not getting off a Heavenly elevator. He probably wasn't wandering around anywhere else -- but he does say he had to carry the box for soooo long, so maybe he was roaming around . . .

15. The high number of queer couples in the show. Both Crowley and Aziraphale are more highly tuned to humans who present as they do when in human form. It's probably not that there are more queer couples around, just that A and C take more note of them.

That's everything from my Murder Board that I think POV can explain. If anyone has other weird things that can be explained by seeing them through various character's eyes, I'd love to know!

And there is still PLENTY that can't be explained by POV. PLENTY. AND the POV changes mean we're not only seeing what they think is happening rather than what is, we're also NOT seeing anything they don't want known. We have to look where the furniture isn't.

Devlog #19: THE LAST DEVLOG BEFORE RELEASE.

Hello everyone! Welcome to this month’s devlog!

If you just stumbled upon this, I am Adrienne, also known as insertdisc5! I’m the developer, writer, artist, main programmer, etc of the game. The game being In Stars and Time, a timeloop RPG, which is also the next and final game in the START AGAIN series, following START AGAIN: a prologue (available here!).  You can find out more about In Stars and Time here!!! 

LET’S GET TO IT. This month is THE LAST DEVLOG BEFORE RELEASE?!??!??!?! URGHH?!??!!

My goodness. Can you believe In Stars and Time will finally be out THIS MONTH? NOVEMBER? TWENTIETH? TWO THOUSAND TWENTY THREE?!??!?!?!? Yeah turns out ME NEITHER so WE CAN FREAK OUT ABOUT IT TOGETHER.

So, as previously mentioned, In Stars and Time will be out on November 20th on Steam, itch.io, GOG, Nintendo Switch, and Playstation 4 and 5!!! We mentioned this previously, but we cannot guarantee they will come out at a specific time, nor guarantee they will all come out at the exact same time and hour and minute, but we will do our best! Hopefully “sometime in the morning for Canada” is the time. Don’t hold me to that though!

And for our announcement, we prepared a wonderful announcement trailer, animated by the lovely Mimi Chiu! Did you see it?!? Well, have it again.

In preparation for the release, we’ve been bringing our marketing A-game! I (insertdisc5) have appeared on The Completionist’s IndieLand Stream, and it was an absolute blast. I also reiterated my Big Hope for this game, which is that I hope ISAT makes you feel so many feelings. 

We’re also doing a Fanworks Contest on Twitter, with the prize being a key of the game on release!!! If you have something in mind, why not participate? 'Obey Me!' character hobby mechanic

This is my second time writing this because I lost the first draft even though I saved multiple times.

Anyways, this is (Maybe) part 2 of stealing features from other games and incorporating it into the mechanics of 'Obey Me!' While writing the shops for each character, my mind wandered and I had a thought, what if there were hobbies like in 'Blush Blush'. Leveling up these hobbies would give rewards such as intimacy multiplier, icons, bonuses, and cards.

There should be 4 types of hobbies:

Common- hobbies that almost every character has.

Uncommon- Hobbies that 5 or more characters have

Rare- Hobbies that 2, 3 or 4 characters have

Character specific- A hobby distinct to each character

the rewards for these would be:

The character Čeda Čedović, main character of At Least There is Čeda Čedović, could have a potential Ryu Number by connecting him to Edmund McMillund's games, but it depends on what you count as official, as ALTiCC is a non-commercial game. LONG ASK INCOMING:

1. Ceda appears as a Co-op Baby in The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth under the name Hooligan Baby along with the rest of his group, The Poor 4 (Half Spider Baby = Miroslav, Silly Baby = Djole and Master Cook Baby = Andre), but it is made unclear if this can be really considered him. Considering the creator of Čeda, LeatherIceCream, was involved with the development of the addon Repentance, and these babies in specific look a lot more like their original counterparts compared to other babies with references looking more like costumes, this could potentially count, and you could link Isaac and Shovel Knight together in Blade Strangers, then link Shovel Knight to Smash Ultimate, boom, Ryu. (There are also multiple other co-op babies that are meant to be characters from Mario, Final Fantasy and Warhammer 40K, but they resemble cosplays more than actual cameos.)

2. Bumbo, listed in-game as coming from Legend of Bumbo but also appearing in Isaac, appears as an enemy in At Least There is Čeda Čedović. This could be considered an unofficial cameo, but once again, LeatherIceCream has worked with Edmund before. If you believe this, this involves the same process listed above.

3. If that's not enough for you, Stephen from Edmund's game TIME FCUK also appears in At Least There is Čeda Čedović, as an NPC with dialogue. If we use the same logic used above, Stephen also appears in Binding of Isaac as an item, follow steps above.

This is a very interesting situation as it depends on how strict you are on the commercial rule. If a crossover is official in a non-commercial game, does it still count? Would love to hear the answer on this.

Čeda Čedović has a Ryu Number of 4.

Going off the precedent I set with Owata, character appearances as links are fair game as long as the character getting linked from appears officially. Since Čeda's appearance is self-evidently official in At Least There is Čeda Čedović, all other appearances in the game are fair game for the sole purpose of linking Čeda to Ryu. This is why Steven from Time Fcuk is valid in this context, even if the sum total of Edmund McMillen's involvement with the game appears to be a Special Thanks credit under his Newgrounds handle of BlueBaby.

In contrast, even if we put aside that Pannacotta Fugo from JoJo Part 5 is just a normal, nonunique enemy in At Least There is Čeda Čedović, the game cannot be used to link from Fugo to another character, since it's not an official appearance.

(Not that it would even be the optimal path in the first place, but I digress.)
