Between Ladiva and Logia we sure have the best parents

oh my god we need them to meet asap

the dedication! the way they want to help so bad that they end up taking care of everyone in our surroundings as well! the way they both felt depressed by the way we've been abandonned by our parents! That they pushed themselves to their limits by wanting so bad to ease our pain! and how they both disregard their own health to help people around them!

Except that Ladiva works at a smaller scale and actually had people that could ground her back to the reality that she doesn't have to handle everything on her own. While Logia basically self isolated and then only went to Lu Woh to go "btw i'm going to die soon bc i tried too hard hope you kill me ok bye <3" and the dragons had to prevent their suicide attempt before being able to take care of them. Raduga Regular Team having to hear the woes of the 6 dragons in horrors and then sharing tips on how they help Ladiva out when she spirals, if it can help handling Logia once in a while.

(also funny how the other thing they have in common is having taken care of Seox at some point as well. Bonding over fussing over him when.)

I feel like we can have a NRNR2 where Logia joins the Raduga team to try to help out Ladiva (and using their power to try to make it easier to see all the different ways this could be going) and Ladiva has to remind Logia to take breaks and focus on themself while Logia, who probably already saw a few things about Ladiva in simulations and stuff, trying to uno-reverse it like "WELL. YOU TOO."

(like how Jamil and Ladiva's whole dynamic in NRNR is them constantly telling at each other "hey rely on me i'll be fine :)" "no YOU rely on me i'll be fine :)" "HOW ABOUT /YOU/ RELY ON ME I'LL BE FINE". except this time at least Ladiva should have learned her lesson.)

Norton 360 Deluxe - eine Enttäuschung auch im Abgang

Heute war meine Norton Lizenz abgelaufen. Das Produkt und der Service (nie eine Rückmeldung) war mangelhaft. Darüber habe ich bereits an anderer Stelle berichtet.

Um ein alternatives AV Produkt zu installieren, muss Norton vollständig beseitigt werden. Normalerweise geht dies über Systemsteuerung/Programme und entsprechender Klick auf die Software zum deinstallieren. Die Community weist aber darauf hin, dass es empfehlenswert sei das “Norton Remove and Reinstall” Tool zu verwenden. Auf der Norton Webpage liess sich das Tool nicht downloaden, in mehreren Anläufen habe ich dann die NRnR.exe gefunden. Es ist beim Ausführen darauf zu achten, dass man die Option “nur entfernen” verwendet; ansonsten soll sich ja eine Neuinstallation anbahnen. Die Software habe ich damit deinstalliert und den Rechner neu gestartet. Zugleich im Anschluß ein neues AV installiert (Bitdefender mit VPN). Dann blendet sich das Norton Tool ein und zeigt mir in der Taskleiste, dass sich ein Norton Downloadmanager eingenistet hat. Zudem poppt ein entsprechendes Fenster auf und fragt wieder Nach einer Installation bzw. Deinstallation.

Es war festzustellen, dass sich der Norton Downloadmanager in die Autostartfunktion eingebracht hatte. Diesen habe ich mit dem Config Befehl gelöscht. Nach einem Neustart poppt es trotzdem wieder auf. Grund: es wurde erkannt, dass sich die NRnR.exe bei mir noch auf dem Desktop befand. Auch hat Regedit mit dem Suchbegriff “Norton” sehr viele Registry-Einträge angezeigt (somit war die Deinstallation natürlich unsauber und mangelhaft; nichts anderes war von diesem schlechten Produkt zu erwarten). Einen großen Teil davon habe ich manuell heraus gelöscht. Dann war nach dem Neustart endlich Ruhe. Es bleibt abzuwarten, ob sich das schreckliche Norton nochmal meldet. 

Fazit: es gibt sicherlich eine Menge sehr guter Konkurrenzprodukte, aber bitte nicht auf das Lockangebot von NORTON hereinfallen. Wenn Probleme auftauchen, dann bleibt man damit allein. Mein VPN (very private network) war über 3 Monate nicht zu aktivieren.

An dieser Stelle sei auch an die “VPN Falle” bei Usenext verwiesen. Der Anbieter von Downloads aus dem Usenet gibt neuen Usern im 14-tägigen Testaccount SpyOff VPN angeblich kostenlos mit. Problem, wie in der Community mit diversen Rechtstreitigkeiten beschrieben: in der Testphase wird automatisch mit SpyOff ein Jahresaccount bestellt (vgl. diesen Link). Also Finger weg von solchen “Angeboten”.�� 

Meine neue Wahl:  Bitdefender Internet Security + VPN

Auf den ersten Eindruck bin ich sehr zufrieden; die Aktualisierungsintervalle kann ich genau definieren, viele sinnvolle Schutzeinstellungen anpassen, das VPN arbeitet schnell und bislang ohne jeglichen Aussetzer. Kann ich nur empfehlen!

“Where are you going?” Kelsey shouted over the music. 

I watched her lips as she spoke but came away empty, pointing over my shoulder towards the door. “To get some air.” 

“What?” 

“To get some air!” 

“What?!” 

I abandoned my efforts and waved her off, turning towards the balcony of the club. Bright lights swirled and reflected off of the door as I slid it open, the night air embracing me like an old friend. I could still feel the bass out here, the rhythmic thumping vibrating through the wrought iron railing I set my hands on, but the overall quiet of Los Angeles settled over me in an instant. 

Setting my water glass on one of the patio tables, I took a few steps closer to the edge and inhaled deeply before closing my eyes. There was a brief clip of music behind me as the door opened and shut again and I stilled, mildly annoyed that my moment of peace had been disturbed. 

“Are you the one responsible for the mechanical bull?” 

Adrian sidled up next to me with a beer in each hand and grinned. I drank him in and returned with my own, shaking my head slowly. “That would be Kelsey’s idea. She’s the one wearing the cowboy hat.” 

“Everyone’s wearing a cowboy hat inside. Speaking of, I didn’t peg you as the Wild West type.” I snorted a laugh and fought the urge to roll my eyes, turning my attention back to the skyline in front of me. He nudged my side and nodded back towards the door when I looked at him. “What gives?” 

“I just- you know Kelsey.” 

“And I know you... sort of. This doesn’t seem like you.” 

“Thought I’d do something different this year, you know. Change it up and throw a real party.” 

“Then why are you hiding out on the balcony?” He pulled out a chair at one of the patio tables next to us and motioned for me to sit down, taking his own seat next to mine a moment later. He slid one of the beers he’d brought out in front of me and I shook my head. 

“I can’t. I’m driving.” 

“On your birthday? Not a chance. I’ll drive you home.” 

“Adrian-” 

“Morgan.” He tipped the bottle in my direction and I finally took it, sipping long and slow before setting it back down. “Atta girl. Now tell me, why the rodeo?”

“I wanted it.” 

“You’re not even dressed up.” He nodded to the plastic tiara that sat atop my head and raised an eyebrow. “Except for that.” 

I reached up to tug it off and dropped it in front of me, eyeing the gaudy pink rhinestones that spelled out ‘birthday girl’. “She made me wear it all day.” 

“Even at work?” 

“Yup.” 

“You poor thing.” He sat silent as I took another sip of my beer and turned his chair a bit to look at me. 

“Mhmm. I had presentations. I met partners at the firm like this.” He grimaced and I pressed on. “There was a sash too but it ‘accidentally’ got caught in the shredder this morning.” 

“That’s a shame.” 

“Isn’t it.” I leaned forward and set my head in my hands, rubbing my tired eyes until my vision blurred. The traffic below disguised the groan I let out and Adrian squeezed my shoulder. 

“What’s wrong?” 

“I wanna go home.” It came out fast and loud, far too loud to explain away, so I continued. “I hate this. I hate clubs. The music is too loud and everyone is sweating- it smells like a farm in there.” 

“Then the bull makes sense.” 

“Nothing makes sense today. I’m twenty seven years old. Twenty seven! That’s three years away from thirty!” My chest felt tight and I picked at the label on the bottle to steady myself. “And I have nothing to show for it but a... shitty party that I didn’t want.” 

“So why’d you ask for it?” 

“I didn’t. I- I got really upset a few days ago, thinking about where I am in life. I feel like I haven’t lived, like I haven’t accomplished anything.” 

“Morgan, you bought a house this year. You made partner-” 

“At an accounting firm. I made partner at an accounting firm, Adrian. I do taxes. I count money and answer emails, I have the same schedule every single day.” 

“And you don’t want that?” 

“I do, I just... I want more. I want to do something without thinking about it, you know? I mean, every bit of my life is planned out, scheduled to the minute. I know what I’m going to eat tomorrow, when I’m going to the gym. My clothes are already laid out on my bed.” 

“That’s not a bad thing.” 

“Isn’t it? I knew, going into tonight, that I was coming home alone. I knew without a shadow of a doubt that I’d leave this party, climb into bed, and fall asleep with Golden Girls on like I always do. I feel like I’ve lost my optimism, like I know exactly what tomorrow holds.” 

He pursed his lips and slid the second beer over to me. I fingered the small pile of label peelings as I sipped and he leaned forward. 

“You know you can change that, right?” 

“I feel like it’s too late.” 

“It’s not.” 

“It is, Adrian. Those firsts, those crazy weekends you think back on and still can’t believe, they’re for college. One night stands, tattoos, spontaneous trips... I missed out.” 

“Says who? You can do any of that at any point in your life, you just have to take the risk.” He took my hand in his and my stomach flipped at the glint in his eye when I looked up. “You want to tonight?” 

“What?” 

“Take the risk? I know an artist -the one who did my sleeve- he owes me a favor.” 

My cheeks warmed as thought it over, heart racing with the promise of a night to remember. Adrian squeezed my fingers and I stood, downing my beer and dropping the bottle onto the table. 

“Let’s do it.” 

“Really?” The excitement in his voice sealed my decision and I nodded, starting towards the door. My hand was still in his when he stopped me, reaching out to snatch up my tiara. I ducked my head as he placed it on my head, brushing a few errant strands of hair from my face. “You ready?”

I agree NRNR has such an important message I am going insane over it.

It's so easy to fall into this "I'll help everyone and run myself ragged because my only value is in helping people" but no!

You only have the one body. Be gentle with it. You can't help anyone if you're suffering. It's not selfish to put yourself first.

Treating others as you would want to be treated includes you yourself as well. Treat yourself as you would others.

If you care deeply about these people and always go out of your way to help them, chances are they care about you as well. So let them help you in return! There's no shame in that. They love you too and they don't want to see you suffer. The magic word is reciprocity.

Even people as strong as Ladiva need help sometimes and that's okay. Nobody holds it against her. They're grateful for all the things she always does. But people tend to turn a blind eye on their own accomplishments and push themselves harder than they would others.

It's such a nuanced and important message and I'm grateful for it. God, I love Ladiva.

Sorry for the rant, but a lot of my friends also have tendencies to set themselves on fire to keep others warm and that's noble, but just. Don't. I used to be the therapist friend in my teens and I was burned out by the time I was 20. Take some time for yourself, nobody will begrudge you the break. And if they do, they didn't deserve your care in the first place.

And same as you, i'm honestly so grateful that this message exists. And it was expressed in the game with so much care and love. This event really felt like a warm hug in that sense.

and i relate to what you say in your last paragraph, though i do not really wish to elaborate on my own experience, but therefore this message did really hit like a ton of brick. I'm really glad you could relate to this message as well and feel as strongly as you do about it. It's a very important lesson to remember and to hold close.

HI ELISE I'M FINE Okay so the stream was super good loved it . I can't say of any distinct differences (lol) between it and the other cut because well I didn't watch it lmfao but it was still fun !!! Watching GJ and NRNR come back ... Everything and more ... I absolutely adore the look of Moa , way taller , in center with sisterbones in the skeleton hoodies surrounding her it looks dope and NRNR was super nice even if the sudden . Break ? Before the final chorus was kind of weird and I'm also pissed they put in Syncopation & FDTD in the marketing like Heyyy lol it's gonna be in the global stream and then . It wasn't . I was seriously waiting the whole time to see FDTD and Syncopation after NRNR & GJ ended and then they just .. didn't happen but other than that I loved it it was really great .
