god seeing a fanart of Orologia giving some New Year's gift to Djeeta and Seox and it's hitting me in the face that like
for Logia, Seox was their son too............
like of course they focused on MC, they had to, the fate of the universe depended on it
but at some point they worked hard to try to save Seox too. to give him a family who would love him. to spare him from the horrors, from the blood on his hands, from the eternal guilt.
letting Seox fall down to the horrors was also a decision Orologia had to take.
and we know Logia was just as stubborn to try to save Seox from this fate than they were to remain at MC's side.
they tried so hard
and yet the best timeline was to bring Seox -- the child Orologia raised in multiple timelines -- back to abusers, to being locked in a dark room, to being driven to madness, to murder every last one of his own people, minus one.
Orologia still hesitates to look at MC in the eyes after all those timelines, but at least they did everything they could for them, and the implication of the event is that MC is aware of the amount of timelines Logia went through, MC knows Logia tried their best, they know how much Logia loved them.
but does Seox know?
does Seox know he had a parent who actually cared about him? a parent who wanted to save him from a life of killings and murders, and pain? instead of trying to make him a killer? and succeeding in the worst of ways?
does he know why this purple haired newcomer in the crew look at him with this much sadness? so much guilt?
is Logia even able to deal with the guilt? that they should have fought harder to find a timeline where their son wouldn't have to suffer too?
Seox was Orologia's son too......
#oh i'm still crying over And You one year later cool#it's the second time i see a fanart of Logia doting on Seox in particular#and it's really hitting me in the face#i loved seeing Seox being like a brother to MC (i've been begging for it since Seeds of Redemption)#but the event is so heavy on how much Logia did for MC in particular#i think it didn't hit me as strongly#as it does now seeing fanarts of Logia and Seox together#does seox know he had at least one parent who loved him.........#ichatalks about gbf#ichablogging 9thanni

Can you maybe go and summarize the orologia loreeee, im too lazy to read it all, but i love the character design
of course!! it's my pleasure, i love them so much!
i don't know how familiar you are with Granblue but i'll try to make this as accessible as possible for non-Granblue fans --
This is only One Character btw. Orologia is genderfluid and goes from one apparence to the next a lot. There's a whole portion of their event where they switch appearance every sentences or so.
On the event they were introduced, their appearance also depends on the Main Character gender. If you play as Gran (Male!MC) they'll start out with their fem appearance and will finish the event with their male appearance, and if you play as Djeeta (F!MC) it's the opposite.
Otherwise they go from one presentation to the other in different stories they've appeared in since. They're also a dragon -- the human-ish appearance is one they took to approach the Skyrealms, where our story happens.
Orologia is one of the first Dragons in existence, and they oversee Causality. in Granblue the first dragons, also called Wedges, all influence a concept and can manipulate the element they're associated with. By being the Wedge of Causality, Orologia can see different timeline and see how to influence the man timeline in order to get the result they think is best for the world's development. They can also lock themself into simulations where they can experience as many realities as possible in order to see what future would be best to influence and how, but those simulations take a lot on their bodies, and also emotionally because for Orologia everything they see and feel in simulations is real, so when things go wrong the heartbreak caused by it shatters them.
As they've been here since the beginning of time, they have done their best to try to develop a world where the people of the Skyrealms would have a chance to live as happily as they could. However they cannot influence the Astral realm nor the Primal Beasts, as their power only extend to the Skyrealms, and therefore they have to plan around this. Usually they use their powers to influence some things by butterfly effect, because they can't do anything too drastic to alter the future. They also give vision to people who can see the future in order to help them prevent some catastrophic events.
We first hear of Orologia when Arulumaya, one of the psychic in our journey, says they came to her in her visions to warn her about a cataclysm that was about to hit the skyrealm. We then learn more about then when we're introduced to the 6 Dragons, Wedges of the elements and of light and death. Orologia is considered their elder and is also the one who gave them their Skydwellers appearance.
But we officially get introduced to Orologia during the 9th Anniversary event called "... and you".
The Main Character of Granblue Fantasy is considered "A Singularity". Orologia explains that the reason for that is because the Singularity exists in every possible timeline, and therefore, it means that their own existence is going to influence the world pretty drastically, for better or for worse.
Knowing the fate that awaits us, Orologia locked themself in simulations in order to try to figure out the best path we could get to live a happy life with as little struggle as Orologia can manage.
Our Main Character was abandoned by their parents, not knowing anything about their mother and learning that their father left in a journey to never return. As a result, our MC grew up in loneliness, with only Vyrn, the small red dragon at their side.
Orologia, knowing that, therefore first tried simulations where Orologia would be there to be a parent for MC, trying out simulations when MC was a baby.
Immediately, Orologia loved the Main Character as a parent would their child. In those simulations, Orologia stayed around as a supportive parent who would do anything for their child. As those simulations are very real to them, the simple duty of caring for us because we were the Singularity morphed into Orologia caring for us because we are Their Child.
Orologia influenced as many things as they could at first also to try to get our friends out of situations that would cause them so much heartbreak.
For example, they looked at Seox, who was locked in cells and abused as a child by his parents who were part of a master clan of assassin, and when they "tested" Seox for his assassin skills by drugging him, Seox, as a kid, massacred the whole clan and was left dealing with the guilt of such a horrible thing happening to him. He met our father afterward, and our father did his best to help Seox feeling better, but left him there -- and it's over a decade later that Seox meets MC and gets to grow with MC's warmth, and upon learning who our father was, feeling guilty that MC's father was more of a father to him than they were to MC. In the first simulations, Orologia influenced Causality in order for our father to find Seox BEFORE the massacre and bring him back to MC's house. While their father still abandonned them, Seox therefore was also raised by Orologia and Seox and MC could grow up as siblings, avoiding the horrors of their past.
This is the type of things Orologia will tweak in order to give us the happiest life as possible...................
but with horror, Orologia realized that being a dotting parent to MC would bring them to doom no matter what. Without their loneliness to drive them forward, MC keeps meeting an early death.
Orologia ran 5,153 simulations as MC's parent, refusing to acknowledge that the only path MC can survive on is one where they are fully alone. They tried to influence the timeline in every way, constantly having to see how MC would gruesomely die, over and over again. From freak accident to people trying to kill MC just because they're a threat to the skies.
But even if they try so hard to deny this reality, they have to accept eventually that they need to be out of MC's life. And they need Seox to be out of MC's life. they need MC to be fully lonely to survive.
and it breaks Orologia's heart.
During the second part of the event we see as Orologia tried to influence the others timeline to make things easier for our friends, even though they couldn't be there for us. We get to see multiple timelines of our fav characters getting a Bad End and Orologia trying to see the path that will lead to their happiness, and therefore, all the horrors we go through in our events are the necessary evil Orologia had to let come to pass.
By the end of the event, Orologia has ran 576,000,000 simulations, trying to figure out the best one for us.
During "... and you" however, Orologia is dying. Because in one of the simulation they were our parent in, MC wondered what their real mom ever felt about them, and Orologia promised they would figure it out. So Orologia searched every timeline for a moment with our mother that they could show us. Complicated to explain but our Mother is being hid by God's interferance itself, so Orologia strained themselves into getting this message, if only to let us know our mother loved us.
And because they did this many simulations, the barrier between every dimensions is about to collapse unless Orologia bears all of those possible timeline inside of them, and that they're killed before they can go bersek. Meanwhile as it happens, our Main Character is getting feverish and sick. It's implied that this deep connection with Orologia means they can feel what the suffering is all about.
Orologia begs the others 6 dragons, the Eternals, and even MC to kill them. They talk about how they know MC is too soft and they'll never manage to do it, but it's the only way they can leave this future into the hands of our MC, and they were hoping MC wouldn't know how much Orologia loved them so it would be easier, even though he knows this kid won't give up.
Orologia manages to pass down the words from our mothers they tried to reach, and then apologize to MC about all the pain they had to put everyone they loved into for it to be the best ending.
But we're the Singularity and we defy the odds. Fate cannot so easily be calculated for us, and we end up able to save Orologia's life in a way Orologia didn't manage to see coming.
and like that we saved Orologia's life, saved the skies, because ultimately we have the free will to choose our own path, and our own path is to save Orologia.
Ever since then, Orologia has been fine. they've reunited with the others dragons, and for now is acting awkward with MC, because while Orologia has loved MC for so many centuries (because Orologia mentions he started running simulations after the Astrals occupation's war, which we know to be a few centuries ago), MC doesn't know how much Orologia has loved them.
At the very end of the events we realize that there was a code in the name of each chapter. The code translate to "HOW ARE YOU". The final part of the story is called "I'm fine THANK YOU". all of this to conclude the event, called "... and you?"
So that's basically all you need to know about Orologia. They're the parent who stepped up, the one who went through all of those possible scenario, only to keep us safe and love us as much as possible.
They've cameo'ed in some Fate Episodes since then, influencing some light moment of life by butterfly effect, and we learn also that the 6 dragons have been asking Orologia helps to make gifts for us.
But yeah. So far that's where we're at.
And that's why we love them.
so you totally should get our Orologia today.
you're welcome ;D
and if you want i wrote a propaganda poll for them a while back.
Take care <3

this is totally random but god, with every crazy things that happened in the 9th anni story i don't feel like it sank in enough that Granblue Fantasy said that if Lancelot lost Vane, he would be a bloodthirsty killer who would have no mercy whatsoever.
Vane, who's storyarc has been about how he feels like he's never enough, that he can't catch up to the people around him, that he's replaceable, who's working twice as hard as everyone else to feel like he can earn his place as a protector, who only NOW is confident about what he can bring, but started out in a place of self loathing about how he's not that useful
... being Lancelot's salvation JUST by being alive. And therefore being the salvation of Feendrache because the person Lancelot would have become without Vane is too awful to think of.
Just... that just living is enough. Just living is already making a difference. I think it's a nice theme to put on a character who didn't feel useful for the longest time. That he didn't even need to be useful. He just needed to be alive. and that was enough.
Man the 9th anni event still hits when i think about it mannnnn.
#also yes LanVane feelies out of it but i'm thinking big themes and all#still. god.#ichatalks about gbf#ichablogging 9thanni#ichablogging 4kishi

i always thought we were robbed of the fact Xing SHOULD have become our adopted brother the moment he met our father, but now with this simulation, this confirms it. HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN. HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN!!!!!!!!!!
#holding Seox's hand now.#we couldn't have been siblings like we should have been in the past#but it doesn't stop us from being siblings now and it's what matters#but god if those two had grown up together so many things would have been different.......#ichablogging gbf#ichablogging 9thanni

i am an orologia truther (= they should give us gifts when and you reruns or something. they can change their gender every day. maybe they'll talk about how they got their baby some gifts so they can keep going and then apologise for calling us their baby but we don't correct them and over the course of the rerun they get more confident about interacting with us and giving us stuff and taking care of us because we love them.)
PLEASE YES IT WOULD BE THE CUTEST
Honestly i could see Orologia ramble about how, well, in the simulations we were their baby, and they know that for us it doesn't mean anything because we didn't know the life they led in it, but for them it means a lot and they just want to share some gifts if only to be a bit part of our lives but "not imposing or anything since i know you don't really know me"
and yeah they'd definitely call us their baby and then get flustered by going sorry! i shouldn't call you that anymore! meanwhile by the end of the rerun event they're just....
"ah... you... want me to keep calling you that? but it's okay you don't have to make this effort for little old me- you... you really don't mind?" or something
and i want a way for them to realize by the very last line before they leave that they'll always be a parent for us and this time they have a chance at it outside of the simulation
basically i just want Logia to realize they're our parent outside of the simulation too, and be covered in love the way they covered us in love all that time.
I just want an option to keep cherishing Logia for ever. Granblue. Granblue please.
#tearing up as i type all of this bc i love Logia so much#ichareply#ichafantalks gbf#anonymous#ichablogging 9thanni

tho i think it’s funny how the gbf fandom just took a drastic turn around, me included
we saw the trailer for anni and we thought mhmm Orologia seems to be alligning with the good guys and they’re probably going to hurt us in a misguided way like Cosmos last year, but, excited to see where it’s going!
and now, after one chapter of the event we all went “excuSE YOU THAT’S MY PARENT WE LOVE THEM SO VERY MUCH” and now we’re crying
post brought to you bc i just saw the gbf twitter account repost the still from the trailer showing Logia and
man i can’t believe i went “okay slightly shady but let’s see” when this screen dropped while now my reaction is

Now I wanna see Belial saying something unsavoury to Danchou and Logia lunges at him yelling "That's my baby, how dare you, they're 15!". Just full-on Papa/ Mama Bear. Despite being frail and wet and pathetic looking, they are 100% willing to throw hands with one of the most powerful primals in existence when it comes to their child
oh, completely. I definitely see it happen and want it to happen. I believe in them.
they're frail and wet and pathetic but they're still a dRAGON. Take THAT Belial.
but i could imagine Belial would find it so funny that he would double down so that's also something to look forward to? the true real new power duo, Belial being the worst and Logia desperately doing everything to keep him away from the gang. I'd see it.

You raise a good point
Orologia is so sad from so many angles
But at the same time, I kinda hope Danchou and Logia too don't tell the others about the lives they could have had
I feel like saying "I'm sorry, your life could have been perfect and happy, but you suffering trauma and other shortcomings just ended up being more important for the sake of the whole world" would upset people and feel needlessly cruel
"You could have had it all but then the world would have ended" sounds like a cop-out, people could get upset and yell and claim Orologia didn't try hard enough, because they don't know better
So I hope we don't tell Seox, because he's in a good place now and I don't want him to have to think back about his suffering or getting lost in any what-if scenarios
You're welcome to disagree with me, obviously, I just personally don't think anyone would really benefit from this knowledge, y'know
i do agree actually that there is no winning on this one. Even if they manage to rationalize that Orologia tried their best, that the timelines with their happiness would somehow have brought the end of the world, it would be... an incredibly bitter pill to swallow.
I do think some of it were said to some people tho -- considering some of the homescreen lines have like, Lancelot or Narmaya (that comes to mind) comment on their dark alternate universe for instance.
I think it might be easier, in general, to tell them how things could have gone wrong and how much better they have it now --
but telling them "here's how you could have been happy" would be cruel.
and Seox also comments in the homelines that "being raised with MC? i wish that would have been possible..." that implies he might know that it has been a possibility (but also, like, i think it's something he could have imagined without thinking it would absolve him from the massacre. After all in Seeds of Redemption we learn that when he met our father after the massacre, our father talked about us to him, and Seox did dream of being able to stay with that man by staying with his family too, but that never happened. So, even if you tell seox "you were raised with MC" he could think "oh so their father brought me home after the massacre?" -- without having to know that, no, the timeline they're talking about saves him from that entirely.)
but regardless, yeah, i think Seox probably shouldn't know about it too. He is learning to accept what happened, he is still struggling with his relationship with Nehan nowadays, i think it would be too cruel to tell him that it could all have been avoided.
which is why i think Orologia would just look at Seox from afar. Not telling him anything, but looking at him with so much love, and sadness, and guilt. And Seox would not understand what is it about. Seox is already on the shy front too, so it's not like he would reach out to ask. But clearly this newcomer in the crew has been looking at him strange -- and even if Seox manage to gather the courage to ask, they keep dodging his questions.
Seox learns who Orologia is and their power, and he has to believe it means Logia saw something in others timelines about him, that they saw the massacre, perhaps they're judging him for that.
Eventually Logia can only tell him that they'd never judge, that it was a tragedy and they're sad for Seox, is all.
I think Seox could accept that. Even if it would be weird to have Orologia feeling this intensely about it.
But for Orologia...... it's looking at their son in the eyes, trying to hold back tears because they couldn't find a timeline to spare him from those horrors. Now he's doing better, but he had to go through unspeakable horrors, no matter how hard Orologia tried to spare him from it. Hell i suppose Logia was relieved when, in trying to keep Seofon in track by having him create the Eternals, they gave Seox a new home that could actually have him work through his guilt and have people who loves him dearly. At least Logia has to think about that.
but.... still. Logia is looking at their son in the eyes, a son who suffered so much because Logia couldn't be there to love him despite their best efforts... and they can't even hold him in his arms. Because Seox will never know how deep Orologia's love runs. He can't ever know about it. Because else the truth will have to be revealed and nothing will hurt either of them more.
Seox was Orologia's son, and now Orologia has to treat him like a stranger, because revealing it to him would be a hundred time worse.
I do think Seox shouldn't learn the details of the truth.
But it makes the whole thing even more tragic for a guy who's defined by how his parents abused him so hard that he snapped after they drugged him and he killed everyone in their clan, including children like him. The one kid who had spent his life yearning for a family who could love him, closing himself out of the affection of others because of the depth of his sins.... and he'll never know that in front of him, there is a parent who loved him so, so deeply, who tried to spare him this fate.
Seox will never know the depth of the love, because he did not experience it, so he will not be able to process how big Orologia's sacrifice actually was.
Ignorance is best for Seox. But it comes with never telling him he had a parent who loved him.
... But Orologia will always know. And they won't be able to tell their son how sorry they are. They can't hold him and tell him how much they wished things were different.
and that's an awful thing, isn't it?
#im just super emo about Logia and Seox relationship rn#ichareply#ichafantalks gbf#anonymous#ichablogging 9thanni

OH MY GODDDD
it’s ONE THING when Logia refers MC as their baby when they’re raising them, but it’s another to see them go through all the timelines in which MC gets killed because “they’re a threat” and having them specifically yell, to the simulations, “MY BABY IS NOT A THREAT”
WE’RE THEIR BABY.............. THEY REALLY SEE US AS THEIR BABY......... IM GOING TO CRY

I've been reminded that Nehan's fate episode mentions that the Karm clan is connected to the people who experimented on Shinsha, so I guess most likely Seox needs to annihilate the clan because if they're still around then the experiments on Shinsha become even worse which leads to... That
o
OH MY GOD???????
That explains completely why Shinsha went completely out of control in this timeline where Seox didn't massacre the clan... holy shit.....
God the fact this boy has to go through the most traumatic act of mass murder in order to stop THE APOCALYPSE is truly fucked up 😭
And it would make sense indeed if the Karm clan was indeed involved in the experiments that they could only get worse if they were still alive, considering how much they kept experimenting with new poisons and drugs to amplify powers and stuff...
god that's so fucked up what the hell. We have to doom Seox and Nehan to a horrible fate to save the world..........
