shout out to when i told my dad about goncharov and he figured out it was fake because i told him "1973 martin scorsese film with robert de niro" and he said that wasn't possible because the godfather came out in 1972 and the godfather part II came out in 1974 and they wouldn't have had time to make a movie in between. a perfectly good jest, foiled by this man's weird and vast knowledge set

everyone's joking about a lesbian love triangle being the focus of rhaenyra/alicent/mysaria's stories in hotd s3 but that will literally be what happens when mysaria acts to uphold and support the image of rhaenyra as queen (or rhaenyra's duty) and alicent is kept prisoner (or a hidden but unavoidable reminder of rhaenyra's love). and so the love triangle will serve to represent rhaenyra's internal conflict between love and duty

#and if you are me and subscribe to the theory that alicent will escape to dragonstone with rhaenyra after the riots in KL #then rhaenyra chooses alicent/love #i think the book page foreshadows this attempt at escape #“traveling across the narrow to flee a war of dragons”#alicent going to dragonstone with rhaenyra would also totally recontextualize rhaenyra selling her crown to pay for passage #rhaenyra abandons this ultimate symbol of her duty for a final chance at happiness with alicent #and then there's the horrible irony of the audience already knowing that aegon ii has taken dragonstone as they sail toward the island #knowing that rhaenyra and alicent could never actually be physically liberated from the system of patriarchal violence they exist in #but by that point they have both mentally liberated themselves from it #rhaenyra selling her crown and alicent finally accepting rhaenyra's offer to run away and totally abandoning duty #and so the love was important and valuable in the sense that they both die understanding that they couldn't change the part they played #but they know now that they had this love that sustained them despite the plotting and scheming and violence #and the love will be forgotten by history but not by them and in that their love will finally be free #crazy actually that they decided to do this shit with a game of thrones prequel #hotd #alicent hightower #hotd spoilers #rhaenicent #rhaenyra targaryen #house of the dragon #also they are having gay sex on the boat to dragonstone i saw it in a vision

#dandy's doodles #inanimate insanity #ii #ii mephone #i don't feel like tagging the others... individually they're not that important anyway #objectober #objectober 2024 #featuring lyrics from dream by roar :) one of my favorite songs of theirs #roar has an incredible capacity for expressing helplessness and isolation in their songs. it's so heart-wrenching. horribly real #i don't know the 'real' meaning but i've always seen dream as being about wanting to make your parents happy #and feeling like you're always failing #and now that they're gone you feel totally lost cuz you've based your whole life around making them happy #and you feel so alone and scared without them #and you don't know whether to continue following what they would've wanted #or to pursue dreams you feel you can never achieve without their support #i may or may not be projecting... but in any case it's very VERY fitting for mephone #and the prompt immediately made me think of the song and him... so...#very fond of how this turned out :)

I yap a lot about how I'm pro "Jason gets therapy and healing" because I'm a therapy and healing bitch, but also as a messy and miserable characters enjoyers I do think it's cool when he's a hot mess that fucks with everyone in intense and creative ways. On that note, Jason should fake his death in the most dramatic and gut-wrenching way possible that fucks Bruce up forever and drowns him in guilt and go to college while Bruce implodes.

Bruce: This is... This is all my fault... My son, and he's dead twice over because of me...

Meanwhile Jason: Wow I've never stopped to consider the symbolism those curtains could have for the relationship between Catherine and Heathcliff, this class is so interesting. I'm gonna get a pumpkin spice chai latte after this :)

thoughts about time travel shenanigans where robin jason and bruce are thrust into the future and find themselves on a rooftop during a stormy night? because listen.

they both find themselves on this random rooftop in gotham, but they're not alone because right in front of them is batman of this year and a man wearing a red helmet. this wouldn't have raised much of a concern-- they probably could've just asked the future bruce what happened and how to get home-- except this batman is more violent than jay or bruce anticipated. they watch, stunned, as this batman repeatedly rains his heavy fist down on the other man's face, chest, ribs, and wherever else he can reach.

they watch as the man with the red helmet struggles weakly, consciousness slowly leaving him, before they catch sight of his face in the crack of his hood. both jay and bruce realize at the same time who it is-- that this is future jason despite the hard lines and large ragged body so different from jay's own.

the realization hits right there-- that bruce is beating down on jason more violently than batman has handled any villain.

the bruce of the past feels it before he sees it-- his jay flinching away from him and his tiny hand ripping away from his cape in fear. bruce looks down at his son, his child, and sees the absolute terror in his eyes. after all, why wouldn't jay be so upset? didn't bruce promise never to lay a hand on him like so many adults in his young life already have? didn't bruce swear, crouched down in front of his little boy and gently holding his hands, that he would keep him safe now?

and yet as they stare at each other with horror-filled eyes, the jason of this time finally loses consciousness as his bruce drags him away by the cracks of his helmet, bloody knuckles pressed over his swollen eyelids.

bruce distantly remembers the way jay had shyly called him dad just two days ago. now, he stares as his sweet boy takes a trembling step back, tears threatening to spill down his wide eyes. bruce doesn't think he's hated himself more.
