Are you guys still okay with MePhone being shipped? I was just curious due to the question of his age raised in Ep16.

Honestly it’s hard to tell if he ages-semi normally or if he was born as an adult (like Aphrodiaty was in Greek mythology)

I'm not personally interested in controlling who gets shipped with whom. That's the fandom's thing to talk-out if they so-choose. That-said, I figured that if there was going to be controversy regarding MePhone ships, it would relate to him as an (unknowing) creator, as opposed to an age-related thing. Meeple devices and MeLife creations have pretty nebulous ages. But with the creator element, I figured for a long long time that the twist would complicate things for MePhone-contestant ships. Maybe I've been a little less connected to the inner community as of late, but I am intrigued about how it's not being considered a bigger deal. MePhone-OJ and MePhone-Fan and more live on, it seems? And Greek mythology is a very interesting comparison!

I have absolutely zero opinion on how the community treats this kind of ship, I'm just here to observe how the art is perceived lol.

this is more of a question so i don't feel like answering with art ig ? tbh i see mephone4 being like . a lot older than the other contestants, so shipping mephone w them makes me iffy but like. there are also a lot of ways to interpret the characters so i can't explicitly say "it's bad." if that makes sense ??

So for both of the ships, 4/10 on a romantic setting, 10/10 on a platonic setting.

Fanphone was the first Mephone4 ship I liked because of a fic about them, but then rewatching the canon scenes reminded me of Mephone4's treatment towards him and how the show as a whole mentally affected Fan, but also how it's a very one sided relationship, kind of a parasocial one, so I don't think they'd work out as a pair.

Mostly because of the way Mephone4 treated Fan and how Fan was just severely damaged because of the show constantly (most of times fault of his team or mephone's), however. I can totally see them being friends on a scenario where Mephone4 is learning to actually make friends and they get to meet eachother.

Because. Fan is A LOT to handle at a time and we know how Mephone4 treats people like that (example: Toilet), and yet, that friendship might work out well for both of them too. Mostly for Mephone4.

Breaking the abuse cycle and all that.

Testphone is like my beloved ship in law. I don't feel strongly about them/don't mind them at all, but I like them because of a moot/friend of mine. Although all of their scenes mostly have Mephone4 being against Test Tube so that's funny. However same thing with Fan. I'm a big sucker for traumatized robot + awkward scientist that is so full of thoughts.

They both struggle a lot with connections and so on, so them being friends is nice. She does his maintenance and he gives her knowledge of Meeple's robots (not really, but she learns from fixing/updating him). In very few cases I can see them having a family dynamic (au's), but that's pretty much it. Good ships. Not really for me though.

opinion on character: he is a very silly guy but also doomed by the narrative and i fw that. i used to find myself in fan a lot. unable to talk about themself without mentioning the thing she was programmed to enjoy..i only wish him happiness and i hope they are not bound by code so much that he cannot enjoy other things post-canon. he was made to love...kills self

otps: poly bright lights (including fantube, fanbrush and fanbulb) is such a great group they have such fun dynamics everywhere and i really love these freaks. paperfan is nice too! fiber friends :> fanphone is fucked up in a cool way.

brotps: fancab is cool to me, the fact that they can be on good terms after their whole enemies thing is impressive honestly. good for them! i bet fan was cheering cabby on through her whole arc from the hotel.
