Late For Dinner
@sjmxreaderweek May 5th Prompt: Friends/Family

You were a wreck to say the least. Had been for the past week or so. Your reflection frowned back at you from the vanity, seemingly in agreement about every little wrong thing you spotted.
First impressions had never been your strong suit, and the one you were gearing up for was practically the biggest one of your centuries long life.
This was Cassianâs family. The most important people in his life! His friends. His brothers, one of which, you constantly remembered, was your High Lord.
Right. Totally casual dinner. Nothing in the world to worry about.
Itâs not like you were terrified theyâd think you looked sloppy. You werenât horrified to think they may shun your basic profession and simple means. You hadnât lied awake at night dreading the possibility that theyâd think you, simple you, werenât enough for the Night Courtâs General. Youâd be lying if you said you hadnât unfortunately thought the same of yourself.
You didnât have much longer to stew in those unfortunate feelings as a large and familiar form filled the space behind you.
âHello gorgeous,â Cassian said, stooping down to kiss the top of your head before spinning you around in his arms. âYou look stunning.â He kissed your cheek before saying, âwe might not make it to dinnerâŠâ
Self-conscious and not wanting to delay your feared event to a later date, you lightly swatted at him. âStop it.â
Taking your actions as playful, he grinned at you as you scrutinized your appearance. âWould that I could, sweetheart.â
He kissed your neck but you shooed him away again, struggling with a flyaway hair youâd noticed.
Finally, Cassianâs expression changed to concerned contemplation. He was more perceptive than many gave him credit for. Heâd noticed your deteriorating mental state over the course of the week. He knew you would be nervous and had done just about everything in his repertoire to distract you from it. Clearly, he should have changed tactics long ago.
âSweetheart?â He was well versed in physical combat, but fights inside the mind, ones he could not fight for you, hurt his ever-loving heart. He could pour his love for you out in bucketloads, and often did, but if you didnât accept his words for the facts they were, there was little he could do.
He sat beside you and cupped your cheek, forcing your vision up at him. His puppy dog hazel eyes poured their concern out to you, and as much as you wanted to handle this matter yourself, to not burden him with it, you couldnât bring yourself to stay silent.
âWhat if they donât like me?â
Cassianâs heart melted on the spot. How could you think such a thing?
He kissed your forehead softly, eyes practically in heart shapes as they looked at you, and he said, âTheyâre gonna love you.â
âYouâre just saying that to make me feel better - which I appreciate - but I just-â
Cassian kissed you, cutting off your statement.
âWhat was that for?â
He grinned softly at you, âYouâre adorable when you say such irrational things.â
âCass, itâs not funny! This is your family! I want to make a good first imp-â
He kissed you again, âand you will.â You scoffed but he continued, âI donât have Rhysâs abilities, but I promise you sweetheart, if I did Iâd take all those insecurities away from you. I donât like seeing you hurt, especially when you do it to yourself up there.â
âCass,â you say, kissing him quickly.
âHey, think about it this way,â he said, âyou charmed the pants off of me figuratively - and literally - just by being yourself! They canât help but love you!â
That brought out the laughter he loved so much. âNot sure,â you said between snickers, âI want to do the latter half again.â
âYouâre pretty irresistible, I donât know,â he said.
âYou realize that youâre implying your brothers may try to steal me from you, right?â
âIâm not worried,â he said, leaning back and stretching his wings out.
You raised an eyebrow, âand why is that?â
He curled around you quickly, wrapping you up in his arms and wings, nothing in the world except the two of you.
His breath coasted along your ear as he said, âBecause Iâm the one who knows what you like.â
Your breath would have hitched had he not blown a raspberry behind your ear a second later, fingers moving to tickle your sides.
âCassian! Stop!â You demanded between bouts of laughter.
âNever!â
âWeâre going to be late!â
Cassianâs ministrations eased away before he kissed your cheek again, slowly. âThey can wait.â
âI still want to make that good first impression,â you reminded him with a genuine, unworried smile. âSomething tells me being late isnât going to accomplish that.â
Cassian continued to pepper quick kisses wherever he saw fit, âyouâve forgotten something, sweetheart.â
âWhatâs that?â
He stopped kissing you to look into your eyes, love pouring out of them, âMaybe I donât want to share you yet.â
You smiled at him, cupping his cheek. âThatâs very sweet.â You leaned in slowly, taking your time, before pulling away entirely and leaving the room. âBut we have to go.â
âWhat?â Cassian whined, a broody male when unkissed, and followed after you.
At the door, you winked at him, âIf you want desert, you have to go to dinner first.â
Despite the teasing youâd done to him, Cassian couldnât help but smile as he followed you out into the streets of Velaris.
You were your smiling, less nervous self again. Mission accomplished.

a/n. second time writing from bkg's perspective. this was so fun! (1.1k)
the moment that cemented bakugouâs resolve to marry you wasnât exactly grand.
it wasnât your first kiss.
or the first time you made love to each other.
not even the first time you met his nerd-ass friends or his (slightly) overbearing parents. although those two come as close runner-ups.
no, it was rather a random saturday morning after you spent a night at his place, now clad in what he thinks is nothing but your intimates and a burnt orange t-shirt of his that drapes loosely over your frame.
and as he enters the kitchen and closes the distance between the two of you with a few strides, he canât help but wonder what youâre doingâdeeply focused on your laptopâwhen youâre probably the one whoâs extra pedantic about not bringing work home.
âmorning,â he grunts, leaning down to kiss your cheek, which you happily accept. although, to his chagrin, your eyes remain on your computer screen, not even sparing him a single glance.
he knows itâs fucking embarrassing, how strongly you elicit feelings within him without you even fucking trying, but he canât stop the frown that takes over his face even if he attempted to fight it.
shaking off the irrational disappointment from not even being ignored, he rounds the kitchen island and starts brewing the two of you coffee.
âby the way,â he starts, glancing at you over his shoulder, âthe old hagâs birthday is coming up. she wants to have dinner with just the four of us, or some shit.â
âi know,â you simply pipe up from where youâre seated on one of his fancy bar stools, gaze still glued on whatever the fuck it is thatâs keeping your attention from him.
he turns to you, a manual coffee grinder in tow. âyou do?â
at that, you finally look up at him, an innocent expression etched across your features. âyou donât remember? i asked you when your parentsâ birthdays were way back in march.â
way back in march.
back when you unanimously decided to decisively end the dating phase and become boyfriend-girlfriend.
âyeah?â is the only thing he manages to get out.
you let out a soft laugh thatâs nothing but music to his ears. âyeah, dummy.â
before you can get to see the red thatâs most definitely creeping up to his cheeks, bakugou turns his back against you, returning to busying himself with crushing the beans into fine powder and pouring lukewarm water into the machine.
only a few months before reaching a full year together, and you still manage to make him fucking blush.
over the most mundane things, too.
when he first got into his very first relationship with you at the ripe age of 28, he thought heâd outgrown and was way past the embarrassing shit that the human body was capable of when dealing with anything remotely close to romance.
it didnât take him long enough into your relationship to find out he was so, so wrong.
sighing, he pours out the cup of ground beans onto the filter, finally pressing the button and bringing the coffee maker to life.
you must be done with whatâs highly likely is work by now.
but chancing a glance at you, heâs once again met with palpable disappointment when the very same sight greets him.
before he can rein them in, the words come tumbling out of his lips.
âthe fuck is so important on that laptop?â
his booming voice mustâve caught you off guard, because you startle ever so minutely in your seat.
âsorry,â he quickly adds on, albeit through a mutter; frustration with himself and his inability to modulate his voice added to the increasingly long list of emotions heâs having to fucking deal with right now.
waving him off, you shoot him another one of that disarming smile of yours. ââs funny that you ask. i was just about to ask you for your opinion.â
with that, you gesture him to come close with your fingers. curious, he once again rounds the island, ultimately occupying the spot to your right and leaning down to peer at the small text on your screen.
before he can even get a word in, you hurriedly explain yourself. âmitsuki-san mentioned her personal sewing machine broke, so iâve been thinking about getting her a new one.â
you point to a sleek, off-white model among what looks to be a vast array of selections, âi researched the specs and i think this oneâs the best. what do you think?â
a million things course through his mind in an instant, but what he ends up sputtering out is: âyouâre such a fucking nerd, you know that?â
at that, you look up at him, your seemingly perpetually moisturized lips now formed into a playful pout, and it takes everything in him not to just pull you in for a kiss and completely abandon the conversation in its entirety.
but heâd like to think he at least has the slightest bit of self-control.
even if you do wear him the fuck out on a daily basis.
âi just want to make sure itâs perfect!â you argue, shifting to stare at your laptop again and bringing him back to the present. your voice is way smaller when you continue. ââŠi want her to like me.â
he doesnât even miss a beat. âshe already fucking does, dumbass.â
and she really does.
the morning after bakugou first brought you to meet his parents a whopping two months into calling it official, mitsuki texted him something along the lines of having the family heirloom slash ring already adjusted to fit your finger.
he immediately called the old hag after receiving the message just to reprimand her ear off for being too fucking forward and for meddling too much.
but, if he were to be completely honest with himself, he was angry not because mitsuki was imposing, but because he couldnât believe his mother beat him to that important realization.
the realization that maybe, just maybe, youâre the one.
and now, as he studies you as you scroll through more and more iterations of the best sewing machines on the market with your eyebrows adorably furrowed in utmost concentration, it dawns on him.
it dawns on him that that maybe just turned into a definitely.

Making a list of things Iskall did in the video that feel manipulative. Quotes wonât be exact because Iâm not watching that for a second time.
1. Opening with his own mental health struggles. Talking about mental health is important but being suicidal is a known excuse for people, especially influencers, to get out of facing accountability. Opening his first video in months with his own struggles is a diversion. Regardless of his mental health, he still needs to be held accountable.
2. Minimizing the allegations. The literal first thing he does in that video is reduce allegations of sexual harassment to âconsensually talking with an adult woman.â This wasnât an issue of flirting, this was an issue of sending explicit messages to his own employees & taking advantage of the power imbalance inherent to that. He talks about how, legally, he did nothing wrong. Thereâs lots of things that arenât illegal but are still bad. Most workplaces will still fire you for sexual harassment, even if itâs not illegal.
3. Emphasizing his own virtues. Half of the video is him talking about what a great person he is, what heâs done for the community, how much of his own money he spent making Vault Hunters, things like that. I shouldnât have to say that good people can still do bad things and bad people can still do good things.
4. âGuilty until proven innocentâ and the whole pitchforks and witch hunts metaphor. We have the screenshots. We know what he did. These arenât baseless accusations with no proof. Things like that tend to get proven false very quickly.
5. Emphasizing everyone elseâs wrongdoing. He makes his (alleged) victims out to be these evil conspirators plotting to ruin his life. He talks about how HermitCraft only gave him an hour and a half to defend himself. To be fair, that is far too short a time window, but itâs interesting that he canât actually defend himself, he just discredits everyone else.
6. Distracting from the allegations. Near the end, he talks about how HermitCraft is actually bad and secretly doing terrible things, without actually saying what they are. Regardless of if this is true, it has no bearing on the topic of the videoâ the sexual harassment allegations against him, which he has done nothing to actually refute.
7. Making the community response seem irrational. He emphasizes the worst people in the community, the ones sending him harassment and death threats (to be clear, this is not okay. We do not send people death threats) as a way to discredit everyone who cancelled him. He talks about how itâs his private business and therefore not important for the public to know. Itâs fine for him to have that opinion, but if someone learns about things youâre doing in your private life and decides they donât want to interact with you anymore, that is their right. This applies even more so to the members of the HermitCraft server. These allegations could have impacted both the reputation and safety of other people on the server, damaging the trust their viewers place in them, and harming their financial well-being.
8. Completely avoids any accountability. Every apology needs accountability, regardless of if the person did anything wrong. Iskall could have easily included an apology for the damaged trust that comes along with allegations like these, talked about how being silent for several months increased that affect, the betrayal and uncertainty felt by the community. Instead he deflects and places blame on everyone but himself. Even if heâs innocent, itâs really not a good look.
Thatâs everything I can think of right now. Might add some more later. I donât trust a single thing he said in this video, especially the vague stuff about HermitCraft being actually problematic and censoring him.

Hiii could I request a pt 2 to miniskirt?? Honestly anything with teen!dean tbh maybe it ends up being that r knows exactly why dean gave her the jacket, or some sort of awkard/sweet confession and fluffiness? Or an angsty route where dean lashes out and r can't understand why which leads to a fluffy confession? Literally anything, your writing is so so good each and every time đââïž
âźâË miniskirtÂČ,
summary. youâre rocking a miniskirt and dean goes crazy!
pairing. teen!dean winchester x best friend!reader
wordcount. 518
â. đ Ë read part 1
Dean doesnât know what the hell is wrong with him.
All day, heâs been a messâon edge, jittery, snapping at people for no reason. Itâs stupid. Itâs irrational. And itâs all because of you.
Because you showed up this morning in that damn skirt.
And now youâre sitting next to him in the Impala, legs tucked up on the seat, wearing his jacket like it belongs to you. Like he belongs to you.
And maybe thatâs whatâs messing him up so bad.
He grips the steering wheel tighter, eyes fixed on the road. His knuckles are white. The engine hums beneath them, the radio low, but the silence between you is loud.
You tap your fingers against the window absentmindedly. âAre you gonna keep brooding all night, or are you gonna tell me whatâs up?â
Dean exhales sharply through his nose. âNothingâs up.â
âUh-huh.â You shift, turning to face him fully. âBecause youâve been acting weird since lunch, and considering we spend, like, ninety percent of our lives together, I think Iâd know when somethingâs up.â
Dean clenches his jaw. He doesnât want to do this. Not now, not ever. But youâre looking at him, waiting, and thereâs something knowing in your eyes.
Like you already have him figured out.
You lean in slightly, voice softer. âIs this about the jacket?â
He stiffens.
âOh my God.â Your lips part in realization. âIt is about the jacket.â
âNo, itâs not.â
âIt totally is!â You sit up straighter, grinning now. âDean, did youââ
âDonât.â
âDid you give me your jacket because you were jealous?â
Dean groans, dragging a hand down his face. âJesus Christ.â
You burst out laughing, delighted. âDean, thatâs adorable.â
âShut up,â he grumbles, glaring at the road like it personally offended him.
âI mean, I thought it was kinda obvious, but I wasnât sureââ
âWhat was obvious?â
âThat you like me.â
Dean nearly swerves into oncoming traffic.
He yanks the wheel back, heart slamming against his ribs. âWhat?â
Youâre still grinning, completely unfazed. âYou like me.â
He swallows. His ears are hot. His pulse is a damn drumline.
He could deny it. Brush it off, make some joke, keep things the way theyâve always been.
But when he looks over at youâwearing his jacket, all warm and soft and entirely too pretty in the glow of the streetlightsâhe realizes heâs so, so tired of pretending.
ââŠYeah,â he mutters, grip tightening on the wheel. âI do.â
Your smile softens. âGood.â
Dean frowns. âGood?â
You shrug, leaning closer, your warmth seeping into his side. âBecause I like you, too, dumbass.â
Deanâs stomach does a weird little flip. His chest feels too tight.
He doesnât know what to say, what to do.
And then youâre leaning in, hand curling around his bicep, looking at him like he hung the damn moon.
âPull over.â
Dean swallows thickly. âWhy?â
Your fingers slide down his arm, tracing his wrist, teasing at his palm.
âBecause I wanna kiss you,â you say simply. âAnd I donât think you should be driving when I do.â
Deanâs foot is on the brake before you finish the sentence.

Irresponsible [Lando Norris x reader]
description: Lando has an irrational fear of a cab driver kidnapping you once- Or something like that.
Lando usually didnât mind when you went out without him. You had your own group of friends in Monaco, and as long as your best friend, Sasha was there, Lando didnât worry much. He really liked her because she was nice and responsible even when she drank, keeping you away from trouble.
What he did mind, however, was you taking a cab home alone. It didnât matter how safe Monaco was or how many times you had done it before - just the thought of you, possibly even drunk, sitting in the back of a strangerâs car made his stomach twist. What if the driver wasnât who they seemed? What if something happened, and he wasnât there? Lando knew it was probably just in his head, but that didnât make it any easier. It was the one thing he hated about your nights out - waiting for that text saying you were home safe, hoping that nothing had gone wrong.
At least now that Lando finally had a whole week at home, he didnât have to worry about that, and he could just pick you up himself. Besides training, he still had tons of work to do on his laptop, so he was busy, but he was available.
He didnât mute his phone when he went to sleep as he usually did, so you could reach him whenever you wanted. However, when you left you noticed how exhausted he looked, so you didnât want to bother him. At 2 a.m. you were more than ready to leave, and that was when you noticed your credit card was almost empty. You had two credit cards, one to use in your day-to-day life and another one for clubbing.
You didnât want to wake Lando, but eventually you had to. He was fast asleep when his phone rang. He picked it up half asleep when he saw your number come up. Sitting up, he wiped his eyes and yawned. âHey babe, is everything okay?â
âUhm, hi, sorry to wake you up,â you started.
âNo, no,â he said, slowly coming to his senses. âIt's okay,â he added with a yawn. âWhat is it, love?â
âCould you maybe send some money to my blue card?â you sighed. Lando knew exactly what you meant as he used the same method when going out. If the card got lost or stolen, it was a much better situation when it was not the majority of your money disappearing.
Lando stifled a sigh as he turned the light on. âWhy, did you forget to transfer money again?â he asked while he opened the bank app on his phone. Lando was a bit annoyed at you for being careless with your stuff again, but he sent some money to you anyway.
âIâm sorry,â you replied, noticing the tone of his voice immediately.
âDonât apologize, just try to pay attention the next time.â He suppressed another yawn. âAre you guys going to stay out?â
âNo, I was just about to call a cab,â you explained.
He was silent for a minute, then you could hear the soft ruffling of the sheets as he moved. âWhy didnât you call me before? I would have come to pick you up.â
âCause you needed rest,â you mumbled. You knew he didnât like it when you took a cab, so you expected the question.
âWell, I'm up now, so I don't think it matters anyway,â Lando said with a hint of sarcasm. âI would have come to pick you up at any time for you, love, you know that,â he added, trying to sound sincere. He didn't want to pick a fight now that he was awake, but it was a bit of a sensitive spot for him. Lando didn't like that you would just jump into a car with a stranger. He worried about your safety more than you realised.
 âI know,â you sighed.
There was a brief silence on the line. Lando knew you were being considerate by not calling him earlier, yet he couldn't help but feel a bit frustrated. He wanted to voice that but held back, knowing it would lead to a pointless argument. âWhere are you, anyway?â he asked instead.
âAt Aurora. We're still inside at the smoking area cause it's quiet and warm here,â you added. âWhy?â
âJust wondering. Aurora is on the other side of the city, and at this time of night I'd rather not send you in a random cab,â Lando replied, his concern growing. âAre the girls with you?â
âYes, they are. But you really don't need to come,â you pushed.
Lando knew you were trying to not bother him, but he also knew that this was pointless to argue about. Besides, he would be restless if he just stayed home now that he was up. âI'm coming,â he said with a finality in his voice.
 âBabyâŠâ you sighed.
Lando was already getting up and putting on some clothes. âStop protesting, Y/N. Half of the cab drivers barely even speak English here,â he retorted. âYouâve been drinking, youâre wearing that small dress, and youâre- Youâre not going to call a cab. Just stay inside. Iâll be there soon.â
For a moment, you didnât know how to reply. You could hear the frustration in his voice, but it somehow warmed your heart. âI love you,â you spoke eventually.
âLove you, too. See you at the club,â he added before he ended the call.
He didnât know how to explain what he felt. It was just that- So many things in his life could be taken away within a second. And he barely had anything stable to hold onto, considering how much he had to travel. He knew what people and social media were capable of, and he was just so afraid of you getting hurt. Youâve been dating over three years now, so his followers knew who you were, and he was also aware that people didnât always have good intentions.
Twenty minutes later he was parked outside the club. He called you, so you quickly grabbed your belongings, hugged the girls goodbye, and then hurried to his car. You sat in and closed the door behind yourself.
Lando winced at the sound. âHey, careful.â
He had taught you not to smack the door of his car, but apparently you were too drunk to notice or remember.
âOh, sorry,â you bit on your lip when you realized what you had done.
You checked your phone to see the time, and that was when you saw the notification of your bank application. You frowned and checked your account. Lando sent you money despite that he decided to pick you up, but you only expected an amount that would cover a cab ride. You huffed when you saw the numbers.
âBaby, I wanted to call a cab for a ride home, not to buy the driver with the car,â you glanced at your boyfriend, who had just started the engine.
âConsider it as a precaution,â he replied, his eyes never leaving the road as he started driving. He was still a little frustrated. âBetter safe than sorry. And you know I donât like you being in cabs with strangers at night.â
âI know, but this is extensive. Did you think Iâd have to pay a ransom for myself or what?â you sighed. âYou know I have my own money, right? Just not on this card.â
âI know,â he said, with a hint of annoyance in his voice. âBut sometimes you can be irresponsible when it comes to money, like leaving your card behind or not checking your balance,â he said, recalling past incidents.
You just hummed. That was right.
âBesides, this most likely wouldnât be enough for a ransom,â he added.
âI was just joking,â you mumbled. He wasnât in a funny mood tonight.
âI know,â Lando sighed. He stepped on the break at a red light and looked at you. âY/N, I donât even know how to approach this anymore. Iâm not saying that I would pick you up because Iâm trying to be nice. Iâm saying it because Iâd much rather pick you up by myself than wait until some creep kidnaps you. I know, youâre a strong, independent woman, but canât you just let me have it my way for once?â
Your eyes widened slightly at his words. âNo one is going to kidnap me.â
 âY/N,â he pressed. âPlease. Seriously.â
You couldnât force back a small smile. Even though he could annoy you to death by being overprotective sometimes, he was still very cute.
âOkay,â you replied, shrugging your shoulders. Meanwhile, the light has turned green again.
âOkay?â he glanced at you again quickly before looking back at the road.
 âYeah. Okay.â
His shoulders visibly relaxed and he sent you a small smile back. Oh, how you loved him.

Tyler Owens x Reader: I Choose You
Request: Anonymous said: "jealous tyler or jealous reader would be interesting to read đ"
Word count: 3.8k
Warnings: none!
A/N: not sure how i feel about this one but I gave it a go and wanted to make sure I posted!

Tyler tells himself that heâs over thinking⊠maybe even reading too much into things.Â
But God, he swears he isnât imagining the way that you and the reporter heâd agreed to let tag along for the next week naturally interact with one another with such ease.Â
Tyler is not a jealous personâ heâs confident and secure and he trusts you. Jealousy is petty and itâs stupid. And Tylerâs been trying his whole life to prove to himself and everyone around him that heâs not stupid.
Tyler has a loose shock to repair before the storm theyâve been tracking rolls in later that day. Heâs currently laying on the dirt at the rest stop theyâve pulled in, with a wrench in his hand. Daniâs shining their flashlight for him, and itâs important he stays focused. And he tries⊠really, he does.Â
But Tyler looks up just as the reporter laughs at a joke youâve made. And then, he reaches out to touch your arm for the added effect. Tyler nearly drops the wrench heâs holding on his face at the sight.Â
âEasy, T,â Dani says, studying him closely.Â
He takes a deep breath before looking back towards the truck.Â
âWhat the hellâs the matter with you?â Dani asks, kicking his shoulder gently with their boot.Â
âNothing,â Tyler grumbles in a tone that screams there is absolutely something wrong. Thankfully Dani doesnât push.Â
âŠ
Throughout the rest of the week, Tyler tries to talk himself down whenever jealousy rears its ugly head. He keeps telling himself that heâs being irrationalâ youâre not flirting with the reporter everytime you walk with him into the gas stations they stop at, or offer to ride with him in the van instead of Tylerâs truck, where you normally sit. Youâre just trying to be friendly⊠make him feel at ease.Â
But did he really have to look at you that way while you studied the GPS monitoring system? Or share his fucking cookies with you when everyone ate lunch in the field? And did you have to laugh so loudly at every single joke he made?
Tyler finds out on the second night heâs tagging along that Henryâs a fucking Columbia grad on top of a stupid self-proclaimed comedian. The two of you are sitting around the fire talking about graduate degrees when Henry turns towards him.Â
âDid you two meet at school then?â Henry asks. Â
Tyler smiles, but instead of warmth itâs laced with sarcasm. âNope, I donât have one of those fancy degrees, Henry. In fact, none of us but her do.âÂ
Henry turns back towards you and proceeds to ask more questions about your time studying meteorology at the U of A. Meanwhile, Tyler is left to simmer in his own self pity, wondering if it bothered you that he isnât educated like Henry.Â
Tyler has to spend the rest of the week fighting the urge to make it known youâre hisâ heâs had thoughts of keeping a permanent hand planted on your waist right in front of Henry. Maybe if he pulled you in for a kiss a little more often, and really claimed you as his, this guy would back the hell off.Â
But Tyler quickly shakes away the thought.Â
Because claiming you like an object is stupid, and Tyler is not stupid.Â
âŠ
Tyler grabs you a coffee from the nearest gas station and brings it back to the motel because heâs really trying to move past all this shit. Youâre sitting with Lilly and fiddling with the drone when he tries to hand it to you.Â
You offer him an appreciative smile that warms his entire chest. Tylerâs definitely been overreacting, because youâre looking at him with such love and admiration in your eyes.Â
âThanks, but Iâve already had some today,â you say, crushing every hope inside of him in an instant. âWhy donât you give it to Dani? They take their coffee the same as I do.â
âWhen did you have time to get coffee?â he asks, trying to play it cool.Â
You reply so simply, like the words donât slice right through his heart. âI didnât, Henry brought me one.â
Tylerâs jaw tightens. Itâs a gesture you donât notice, because youâre too busy focusing on the drone half in your lap.Â
What you do seem to notice, is the way he scoffs. It makes yours and Lillyâs heads both turn.Â
But before you can reply, Tylerâs already walking away. He clutches the coffee firmly in his hand and without a word, drops the full cup in the trash can outside the motel.Â
âŠ
Tyler has to remind himself that heâs not angry.
At least not at you. Â
You and him have a great relationship. He trusts you and thatâs all there is to it. Whether itâs Henry or whoever elseâ you never gave Tyler a reason to be worried.Â
But Tyler doesnât like the way seeing you with the reporter makes him feel. Because at any moment, you could leave him for someone with a more respectable careerâ someone with fair skin and button up polos who just looked like they had their shit together. Someone with a college degree⊠someone a hell of a lot smarter than him.Â
Seeing you with him made Tyler feel vulnerable, like he had something to loseâ because he had everything to lose.Â
âŠ
The crew spends another week chasing in Oklahoma. The seasonâs winding down, but they still managed to catch two EF0s and an EF1.Â
Tylerâs been avoiding you for most of the week. Heâd offer the truck space to Boone and Lilly, heâd sit next to Dexter around the fire at night⊠hell, he would hardly even look at you.Â
You turned down his coffee earlier in the week. Only after the fact did you realize that you should have just taken the damn thing. You understand that rejecting him after he went out of his way to do something nice for you hurt his feelings⊠But you canât understand how that turned into an entire week of the silent treatment.Â
On numerous instances, you try to approach him. But he always has somewhere to run off to.Â
âI gotta help Dani with the vanâs oil change.â
âI gotta see if Boone got the footage we need.â
âI gotta give Dexter a hand with the radar.â
Youâre getting sick of it.Â
You try to distract yourself for the rest of the weekâ you ask Lilly to explain more about how to work her drone, you keep on top of the radarâ looking for forming storm cells, and you try to make the reporter Tyler had invited along for the week feel welcome.Â
Henryâs niceâ heâs completely new to storm chasing and has loads of questions all the time. You find it slightly annoying that heâs so interested in Tyler⊠but you get it. And even though youâre a little irritated with Tyler for your week-long silent-treatment sentence, you still want him to sound as good as possible in the article, so you talk him up every chance you can.Â
You know that this lack of communication canât last. And the second Henry goes back to Boston to write his piece, you plan to corner Tyler and force him into telling you what the hell youâd done wrong. But until then, you donât want to cause a scene. So, you sit back, spend more time talking with Henry about Tyler, and try like hell not to lose your mind.
ïżœïżœ
Itâs more for his own sanity than anything. Itâs like seeing you with Henry has caused this sudden realization to pop into his head⊠You can do betterâ and honestly you deserve better than him. The thought is all consuming. It makes focusing on anything else incredibly difficult.Â
âYou gonna tell us what the hell is up?â Lilly asks one day.Â
Tylerâs currently standing in the bed of his truck, tinkering things that didnât really need to be fixed just to stay busy.Â
âWhat do you mean?â he replies without looking up.
âI mean are you going to tell us why you two love birds havenât spoken in like three days?â
Out of the corner of his eye, Tyler notices Boone glancing his way with an expression on his face that says he was wondering the same thing.Â
âWeâve spoken,â Tyler says dismissively.Â
âTelling her you donât have room for her in the truck doesnât count,â Lilly retorts. âCâmon, seriously, Ty. Whatâs wrong?â
Tyler sets his tool down and looks down at Lilly. âNothing is wrong.â
Lilly rolled her eyes. âOkay, well are you sure she knows that? Cause Dani and I saw her crying in the bathroom.âÂ
Tyler lets out a long exhaleâ the thought of you upset instantly filling his insides with sorrow. But the thought that he was the one to make you upset is even worse.Â
âI know itâs not my business,â Lilly adds. âBut Iâve been watching you give her the silent treatment all week, and thatâs not going to fix anything. I know Henryâs still here and itâs been a crazy weekââ
Tyler canât help the scoff that escapes his lips at the mention of Henryâs name.
Lilly pauses before a look of understanding washes over her. âYouâre pissed that sheâs been hanging with Henry.â She says it as a statement instead of a question.Â
âIâm notââ
âIâve known you for six years, donât even try to deny it. You areâ youâre jealous, arenât you?âÂ
With his lips pursed in a thin line, Tyler raises an eyebrow at her. âMaybe I am. Does that make you happy? Is that what you want to hear?â
Now it was Lillyâs turn to scoff. âOf course it doesnât make me happy. Youâre being an idiot.â
âWhat?âÂ
âI said that youâre being an idiot,â Lilly says, annunciating each word insultingly.Â
âYeah,â Tyler nods. âIâm well aware that Iâm an idiot, but thanks for reminding me.â
âI said youâre being an idiot, Tyler. Not that you are one. Now stop sulking and fucking listen for once in your goddamn life.â
Itâs so out of the ordinary for Lilly to snap that Tyler actually does shut his mouth.Â
âYou invite a reporter on the road with us and then you donât give him the time of day to answer any of the questions he has. Youâre short and curt and to be honest, kind of fucking rude anytime he asks you anything. Y/N is being politeâ and sheâs hosting the guest you invited along. So donât fucking blame her just because youâre insecure.âÂ
Tyler can feel the anger rising in his own chest, he wants to get defensiveâ to snap back at Lilly. But deep down, he knows sheâs right, so he stifles any comebacks and instead hangs his head.Â
Lilly sighs. âYouâre not an idiot, Tyler. So stop acting like one.â
âŠ
After letting Lillyâs words really sink in, Tyler decides that sheâs right. For the first time all week, heâs motivated to actually talk with you and make things right.Â
Or at least he is right until he sees Henry approaching you in the parking lot. Heâs too far away to hear what Henry has to say. But heâs not so far away that he doesn't see the folded up piece of paper that he passes you.Â
In an instant, everything Lilly had saidâ along with all the things heâs said to convince himself heâs been overreacting flies away with the wind. Because Henry just gave you his fucking phone number.Â
Tyler turnsâ needing to get as much space from whatever exchange he just witnessed as he possibly can. In a few, long, angry strides, Tyler reaches his truck and climbs inside. In the distance, he hears Lilly call after him. But he pretends he doesnât hear. Instead, he slams the door shut, starts the ignition and drives away.Â
âŠ
âWhereâs he goinâ?â Boone says just as you approach him and the rest of the crew.Â
âDunno. He didnât say anything to you?â Dani asks, turning towards Lilly.Â
She shakes her head, eyes squinting against the bright sun.Â
âWhat the hell is his problem?â you say frustratedly, biting back tears.Â
Stupidly, youâd let yourself get your hopes up earlier in the day when Tyler had offered you a small smile over breakfast. You had thought that maybe things were alright, and that he was finally over whatever had been bothering him so badly.Â
But now youâre standing in the cloud of dust he just left behind after taking off in his truck without a word to anyone and you know that isnât the case.Â
âHere I was thinking I helped last night,â Lilly says under her breath.Â
You snap your head in her direction. âYou talked to him?â
She shrugs. âI tried to.âÂ
âDid he say why heâs been so upset?â
Lilly hesitates. And truthfully, you understand why. Everyone here was Tylerâs friend first. You were the last to join the crewâ inducted into the group just by being Tylerâs girlfriend. They have no obligation to be loyal to you over Tyler.Â
âForget it,â you say defeatedly, turning away as soon as you feel the familiar burn of tears behind your eyes. âIt doesnât even matter.â With that, you make your way towards the RV, painfully aware of everyoneâs eyes trained on you the entire way.Â
âŠ
Tyler drives to the nearest gas station, desperate for space to clear his head.Â
He knows heâs being dramatic and irrational at this point, but if he stayed at that rest stop another second, he didnât know what would come out of his mouth. He really really had to get it together. But he canât escape the fear inside of himâ the one saying that meeting Henry helped you recognize that you could do so much better than him.
And now you had his phone number, to reach out whenever that realization hit.Â
Why wouldnât you be interested in Henry? Heâs got a goddamn masterâs degree from Columbia, he writes articles for the Globe, works out every morning before they go chasingâ apparently makes hilarious jokesâŠÂ
Tyler rests his forehead against the steering wheel and groans.
âŠ
Tylerâs gone for an hour. But when he finally parks the truck back at the rest stop, he hasnât shaken the sinking feeling inside of him.Â
In a preemptive attempt to avoid questions he had snagged a bunch of snacks from the nearest gas station. If you ask where heâs been, he can just say he had a hankering for potato chips and call it good.Â
Except, you donât even look at him when he gets out of the truck. Booneâs got corn hole set up in the dirt. It looks like Boone and Henry versus Dani and Dexter while you watch. He only watches for a moment before bringing the bag of snacks into the RV.Â
Secretly, Tylerâs been simultaneously excited for and dreading the end of the week. Heâs excited for Henry to leave and excited to sleep in his own bed. But heâs dreading being back in your shared house. Itâll be the first time the two of you are forced to be alone, and he knows heâll have to find the words to describe what heâs been feeling.Â
But apparently Tylerâs stupid, because he doesnât even know what heâs feeling.Â
All he knows is that he doesnât want to lose you. And seeing you with Henry makes him feel like heâs about to lose you. Tyler doesnât know how to say that to you without coming across as a total lunatic. Â
âŠ
You donât want to cause a scene at the rest stop. But the minute you see Tyler head for the RV, youâre out of your seat and beelining it towards him while the rest of the team is distracted.
As soon as you hoist open the door, you find him hunched over the fridge, grabbing a water bottle.Â
âWhat the hell?â is all you can manage to blurt out. Youâre fuming and on the verge of tears. But you canât help itâ Tylerâs silent treatment has just about pushed you to the edge.Â
Tyler whips around at the sound of your entrance⊠and maybe it was a little dramaticâ but you need to get your point across.Â
Thereâs a long pause while Tylerâs eyes study you.Â
âAre you gonna tell me why youâve been avoiding me all week?â
Youâre met by more silence. Â
âThis is ridiculous, Tyler. Will you just talk to me?â
Finally, Tyler scoffs, âThe reporter gave you his number, right? Why donât you talk to him? Iâm sure heâd love to talk.â
In an instant, a wave of understanding washes over you. But it isnât overshadowed by the anger you feel.Â
âAre you serious right now? Youâre jealous of Henry?â
He shuts the fridge before cracking open his water bottle dismissively, ignoring your questions.Â
âTyler, are you forgetting that youâre the one who invited him with us this week? I mean, did you think he was just supposed to sit back and observe? Heâs a reporter, of course heâs going to have questions⊠Questions that you were way more qualified to answer, but you were too busy being a jerk all week to answer any of them. So I did it for youââ
âI never asked for you to do that.â
âYou didnât have toâ I did it for you!â you cry. âI did it so that heâd write you a good storyâ because you deserve that.âÂ
âOh, how convenient. So you two just get along so well for my sake then?â he says.Â
You exhale sharply. âAre you kidding me right now? Weâve spent the last week talking about you! Iâve been talking you upâ telling him stories about what you doâ how good you are at what you doâ all the people youâve helpedââ
Tyler rolls his eyes. âYeah right,â he scoffs.Â
You pause, anger slowly melting away at the realization that he genuinely didnât believe anything you were saying.Â
âTyler,â you say seriously. âThere is absolutely nothing going on between me and Henry. Iâve been answering his questions and telling him how fucking brave and generous and smart you areââ
âDonât patronize me,â he snaps, voice cracking just slightly. âJust forget it, it doesnât matter.â He sets his water bottle on the counter before moving to step by you.Â
âTyler stopââ you say, reaching for him. But heâs too quick. He reaches the door before youâre able to stop him.Â
âWill you please stop walking away from me!â you blurt out frustratedly, tears forming in your eyes. âYouâve been running from me all weekâ I just⊠I just want to talk about this. Pleaseââ
Tyler doesnât turn to face you, but to your relief, he stops before opening the door.Â
âThere is nothing happening between me and Henry, Tyler. I mean, I promise you, absolutely nothingâ I⊠I donât know how else to convince you. But thereâs nothing going on. Iâm not into Henryââ
âI know,â he says quickly, eyes squeezing shut.Â
You let your mouth fall open, confusion washing over you. âWhat?âÂ
âI know thereâs nothing happening between you and Henryâ I trust you and I believe you.â
You shake your head in disbelief. âSo why are you so mad at me?â
Tyler pauses and bites his lip before saying, âIâm not mad at youââ he tries to explain. âI just⊠I donât understand.â
âUnderstand what?â
âI donât understand whyââ
You sigh. âTyler, youâre not making any senseââ
Tylerâs face twists in anguish. âWhy arenât you into him?â
âWhat are you talking about?â
âHeâs everything Iâm not. And I meanâ Seeing you with himâ it just made me realize that you can do so much better than me,â Tyler says desperately, the pain almost palpable in his voice. âHeâs got the fancy degreeâ heâs obviously smartââ
Youâre shaking your head before he even finishes his sentence, because the idea of anyone ever being better than Tyler was even more ludicrous than him being jealous in the first place. âTyler, youâre smartââ
âI didnât go to Columbia. I didnât even finish my first year of undergrad.â
âI donât care about any of thatâ you know I donâtââ
âWhy?â he blurts out harshly, finally turning to look at you. âWhy do you even want me when you can have someone like him?â
Tyler didnât think he was good enough for youâ and that admission broke your fucking heart. In an instant, all the reasons you loved Tyler flow through your head. Thereâs so many, you canât even keep up.Â
So instead, you reach into your pocket and pull out the note Henry had given you just hours earlierâ the one Tyler apparently saw him give you. He watches as you unfold the piece of paper, quickly revealing that itâs not a phone number.Â
âItâs his momâs cookie recipe,â you explain. âThe ones you refused to try. I talked to him about how you have a sweet tooth, and I said how much you love chocolate chip cookies, so he wrote it down for me. I thought I might be able to make them for you when we got home. Because I love youâ and I love doing things that will make you happy. Because thatâs what you do for meâ you make me happy. All the time, just by existing.â
You watch as the realization washes over him. Â
You sigh. âDid you ever stop and think about how I feel the same about you?â
He pauses before looking at you questioningly.Â
âI mean, youâre you,â you say, gesturing towards him. âPeople adore you, Tyler. And rightfully soâ but Iâm always worried youâll find someone better. But I donât get hung up on it, because I trust you. I trust that you mean it when you tell me you love me and you choose me. And I need you to do the same for me, Tyler. I need you to trust me. Because I love youâ and I always will.â
Tyler exhales, his eyes watery.Â
âCan you do that?â you plead.Â
To your relief, after a moment, he nods.Â
You donât hesitate before closing the gap between you and wrapping your arms around his middle. You lay your head on his chest just as his arms wind around your shoulders in an attempt to make up for all the hugs youâve missed out on this week. Because as much as you love chasing in Oklahoma or Texas, your absolute favorite place to be is at home in his arms.Â
âCookie recipe, huh?â he muses above you, chin resting on top of your heads.Â
You nod. âIâm a horrible baker, but I was going to give it a shot.â
Tyler tightens his grip around you. âWell horrible baker or not, I love you and I choose you.â
You let your eyes fall shut and inhale the familiar, comforting scent of him. âYou have no idea how happy that makes me,â you say honestly.Â

Cupids choke hold àȘââŽáĄŁđ© C. Sturniolo
"dad, i think i finally found the one."
âąFluff really, Chris just being in love with bun
@bernardsbendystraws for credit
The sun was setting over the city of angels, and Chris was entranced by his own angel.
Bunny.
He stared down at his lock screen, smiling softly to himself as the picture brought warmth to his chest. His admiration was interrupted by his phone ringing, a name popping up that he hadn't spoken to in a while. He answers the call and puts it on speaker, instantly feeling comforted by the voice on the other end.
"Hey son, where have you been?"
The question makes him feel guilty. He was always a mama's boy despite his harsh exterior, his mother being his rock and safe place, and she loved it. The mother and son duo knew to a degree it wasn't fair, but they were each other's favorites, and everyone else knew it too.
"Hey Ma," he says softly, inhaling a bit of the joint before tapping the excess ashes off. "I know it's been a minute since we last spoke...I have so much to tell you."
He begins to feel nervous like he is about to be judged. He knew it was an irrational fear, his mother would never judge him, even when he did something wrong.
"It's going to sound like a bad joke, but Ma...I fell in love, I found the real thing. I got a girlfriend and she's amazing."
A bit of shuffling is heard on the other end before she responds to him, "A girlfriend? Is the same one that- No." Chris instantly cuts her off, not even wanting to bring up the last girl. She was never his girlfriend. He would never say this to his mother, but she was nothing more than a quick fuck to him.
"No no, this...This is someone new and she's the best thing to happen to me. I probably sound like an old person, but Cupids got me in a chokehold. You know me, I've always been scared to let people in, especially girls, but she made it so easy that I threw the towel down. My white flag is waving, and I'm okay with that."
He couldn't help himself, instantly going on a long ramble about the girl he found himself to love so much.
"-I mean, she cooks me pancakes in the morning, the blueberry ones that you make me when I'm back home. God, and I'm starting to think you two use the same ingredients."
"And what are those ingredients?"
He smiles dopily to himself, looking down at his beat-up Nike slides,
"Love."
Mary-Lou finds herself smiling. She had been worried when her boys finally left the nest they call a home that they wouldn't be ok, but it seemed as if they were doing just fine, finding the right people to have in their lives and keeping their heads straight.
"Tell me more." She urges gently, not wanting to scare the boy into retreating his feelings, but also wanting to know more about the special girl who managed to capture her youngest attention and heart.
"When my stomach hurts, she always gets me Alka seltzers. When I'm sick she goes above and beyond to make sure I'm ok. If that ain't love then don't know what love is, it's like we're married."
"Well, it is through sickness and health, they say during the vows."
He chuckles to himself and continues, "We have this secret handshake, we came up with it on our fourth date when I learned she didn't know how to dapp people up. We're always doing it before she goes to practice and it just brings me so much comfort. Oh, and she even gets along with Matt and Nick! You know how close we are, and I don't think I could date someone who doesn't respect them. She even supports the YouTube shi- I mean stuff we do! I know I'm not that much involved, but she's pushed me to participate more, to be something more."
"...You sound in love..." Mary-Lou states softly, trying to hold in her excitement.
Chris chuckles to himself, nodding along despite Mary Lou not being able to see him.
"I am...I really am. If I had to pick her or the sun, Ma, I'm telling you I'd be a nocturnal son of a gun."
She laughs at his statement, soon urging him to send her a picture of the girl.
"Oh Chris, she's so pretty! And the way you look at her, it's the same way your dad looks at me. You have to bring her to Boston soon!"
So he did.
His chest was ready to burst with excitement and joy seeing the girl he loves so much getting along with his parents and older brother. She fit right in, doing crossword puzzles with his mom, playing Just Dance with Justin, and even going fishing with his dad.
It was late into the night, Chris sitting outside on the back porch, smoking with a glass of water in his hand. Bunny had fallen asleep on the couch with Trevor, both she and the dog snuggled up into a ball and sleeping peacefully. He looks up hearing the door open, smiling gently when he sees his dad.
Jimmy takes a seat in the empty chair next to Chris, settling down and letting out a deep breath. They sit in silence for a minute before Jimmy speaks.
"Tell me about her."
Chris immediately dives in, never missing an opportunity to talk about his girl.
"Dad, I think I finally found the one, the one that makes me a better person and will make you proud of me. She's like Mom, she's the best... I know there have been other girls; you've heard about them, but she's different, she's on a whole different plane. Just the way she says my name, it makes me want to give her the world, hell, even the universe."
Jimmy listens intently, watching how he talks with such passion about the girl sleeping on the couch.
"I love it when she calls me. I feel like an elementary school boy getting excited about his crush talking to him on the playground. She even has her own ringtone so I know its her calling! We used to sit on the phone for hours, doing nothing but breathing most of the time."
"She's a good girl, a real catch. I can see the love you two have for each other, I saw it when we picked you up from the airport. You two are in love and I hope it lasts."
Chris takes a sip of his water, staring out into the backyard with a smile and eyes full of love.
"I know it will, I'm not letting her get away."
He creeps back into the house softly, approaching the living room and chuckling to himself when he sees both Bun and Trev drooling in their sleep.
He goes to pick her up but stops when Justin enters the living room.
"You went soft on me," Justin voices playfully, gently pushing Chris's shoulder. Chris rubs the back of his neck, sitting down on the arm of the couch and placing a hand on the sleeping girl's shoulder.
"She's the reason, she makes it so easy to be...I don't even know. She could make the most annoying, oldest, senile man bite his tongue and talk calmly. Her eyes are so soft and comforting, it's like the sunrise on a summer day, I could stare into them for hours."
Justin watches with a knowing smile on his face. He can tell from how animated Chris gets when talking about her, that he will continue to do so forever. He's in love, and Justin knows the two will end up happily married, and he can't wait.
" She's a complete ten, the most gorgeous and graceful girl I've ever seen. She has me hooked, and I'm not complaining. She has the best laugh ever, and she laughs at all my jokes, even my dumb ones that usually piss Nick and Matt off. Like I told Dad, before we moved in with each other, we'd sit on the phone for hours not saying a word sometimes. We just wanted to be around each other and it was comforting. "
He looks down at the girl once more, toying with her curly strands gently in an attempt to not disturb her slumber.
"It may be too soon, but when I think about my future, when I think about what I want it to look like, it all surrounds her. I want to be the best version of me for her, and I want her to be happy...Call it dumb, call it luck, call it love, or whatever, but everywhere I go and do, I keep a picture of her in my wallet. I want to remember what I'm working for."
Justin walks over and plants his hand on Chris's shoulder, "I can't wait to call her my sister-in-law."
With that, Justin walks out of the living room, leaving the couple and Trevor alone. Chris is gentle when he lifts the girl off the couch, one of his hands caressing her back while the other holds her bottom. He walks up the stairs and into his room, laying her down gently on the bed.
He strips out of his hoodie, kicking off his slides, and crawling into bed, pulling her close and kissing the top of her head.
Despite her being asleep, he proceeds to whisper softly.
"I love you so much, I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you."
She opens her eyes softly, smiling at him in a sleepy haze.
"I love you more."

Bitter Truths - Sebastian Sallow x Female!Reader
Summary: Following the revelation that Sebastian has gone back to dabbling in the Dark Arts, you end things with him and try your hardest to stand firm in the decision. He has no intention of making things easy for you, however, and heâll manipulate any situation to his advantage if it means getting you back on his side.
Even if that means manipulating you.
Word Count: 6k
Warnings: 18+, aged up characters, dark!Sebastian, emotional manipulation, explicit sexual content
Full fic is also up on Ao3 here for your viewing pleasure
You werenât sure who you hated more. Professor Sharp for refusing to hear you out following the disaster in potionâs class, or your idiot of an ex-boyfriend for causing said disaster in the first place.Â
There was absolutely no reason for it either. Even though the two of you hadnât talked in a week, you liked to think you were familiar with his tendencies in school. Helping Garreth with his obscure, insane ideas had never been something Sebastian made a habit of doing, which just left you all the more frustrated.Â
He had clearly landed you both in trouble intentionally.Â
Following your fifth-year, you had dutifully stayed firm in your boundary that if Sebastian so much as glanced at anything pertaining to the Dark Arts, you would cut your losses and leave him to deal with the consequences. For too long, you had wallowed in self-pity at the blatant way you had let him take advantage of your kindness, manipulating you into helping him essentially get away with murder. The broody persona he had returned to Hogwarts with your sixth-year had led you to believe that he wouldnât listen, but he had proven you wrong. Bending over backwards to get on your good side, you had eventually relented and let him back into your life, and that inch given quickly turned into a mile earned when both of you started dating.
After making it through the entire year without a glimpse of his former habits, you had mistakenly assumed your final year of school would be much the same. For the most part it had beenâ until last week, apparently.Â
You had found Salazar Slytherinâs spell book in his dorm.Â
It had been well hidden, too; charmed to look like an ordinary textbook, then wrapped in one of his old scarfs and stuffed at the bottom of his trunk. Call it a gut feeling, but you had known something was going on with Sebastian even before finding the book heâd sworn up and down he had destroyed years prior. He would stay out well past curfew, coming back looking anxious and worn down. The far off look in his eyes you had seen towards the end of your fifth-year had returned, along with the dark circles under his eyes that told you he wasnât sleeping much, if at all.Â
Most damning of all had been his three day absence from school. Sebastian had said the Ministry had summoned him to London to finally sign over the deed to Solomonâs old house in Feldcroft to him. An innocent enough excuse, and a believable one when it had been relayed to the Headmaster and to the faculty⊠but not to you.Â
Sebastian wanted nothing to do with that house. He had told you so himself numerous times.Â
So why was it that when heâd returned to Hogwarts after those three days, the barely there scent of Dark Magic accompanied him?
Gaslighting yourself into believing that you were imagining things had been difficult, but youâd managed to convince yourself that it wasnât realâ that the rotting, smokey scent that had clung to his clothes for that brief moment was a trick of the wind. But then youâd found the book.
After throwing that stupid spell book in his face and swearing at him with every curse-word that existed, youâd followed through on your promise to him. You ended things then and there, too angry and too irrational to even take the time to hear him out when heâd begged you to.Â
âPlease just listen to me! Itâs not what you think, darling, I swear. I was onlyââ
âI donât give a damn, Sebastian!â If looks could kill, the glare you shot his way would have had him collapsing on the spot. âI donât need to hear the lies or the justifications. You lied to me. You told me you were done with this shit, but apparently that was a fat load of crap. I canât even look at you right now.âÂ
Turning away from him to reach for the door handle, you yelped in alarm when his arm shot past your head to hold the exit shut. You spun around, eyes wide with shock and anger, and met his stormy, frantic gaze. He was unrecognizable; his chest heaved violently as he drew in quick breaths one after another, and his mouth was drawn in a tight line across his face. Coiled tighter than a spring, you worried that he would snap with you in his crosshairs, and that thought induced a kind of fear that you hadnât felt since your fifth-year.Â
âYou need to let me explain,â he grit through his teeth. You heard his nails scrape against the wood of the door as his hand curled into a tight fist, and the sound snapped you out of your momentary stupor.Â
Planting your hands squarely against his chest, you shoved him away with the strength of a Troll, sending him stumbling back towards the middle of the empty dorm with a look of disbelief etched across his face. âNo,â you turned back for the door, wrenching it open and flinging it behind you as you stepped into the hallway. âI donât.â
He had tried and failed to speak to you since then, but you had gone out of your way to avoid him as much as possible. You found yourself sitting with Poppy and Natty during mealtimes, and youâd skipped a few classes altogether to spare yourself the torment of having him try anything there. If your friends knew something was wrong with you, they didnât comment on it, and you were immensely grateful for their willful obliviousness.Â
Unfortunately for you, however, you had underestimated Sebastianâs ability to manipulate situations to his advantage.Â
Even after two years, Garreth hadnât stopped concocting his⊠unique brews. It was a gamble to walk into Professor Sharpâs class and assume that nothing would blow up in his face that day. You knew it, the Professor knew it, everyone knew it.Â
So why Sebastian had seemingly gone out of his way to help Garreth this time around told you enough about his unwillingness to let you go quietly.Â
There was no way of knowing what he had given Weasley to add to his Restorative Drought at the beginning of class, and quite frankly, you didnât care. The exchange had transpired right before you eyes, and whatever thick goop Garreth had dumped into his cauldron had caused an explosion that put all his past fuck-ups to shame. Instantly the room had filled with a pungent gas that was so foul and nauseating, Natty had been forced to run out into the hallway to expel her lunch from her stomach. In the midst of your own gagging you had pulled out your wand to cast Ventus, a wind charm that collected the bulk of the gas into a concentrated funnel that was then directed towards the open window in a bid to clear the room.Â
Your plan would have worked⊠had Professor Sharp not blocked the magically condensed jet of putrid air with his face.Â
To say heâd been angry would be a monumental understatement. The palpable rage that had radiated from him was a deadly sort; simmering beneath the surface, powerful, and silent. He had wasted little time after that in docking you, Garreth, and Sebastian fifty house points each before sending the three of you away to detention for the evening.Â
Garreth would have attended⊠had he not gotten violently ill following the debacle. He hadnât even made it down the hall outside the room before folding over on himself and vomiting profusely all over the floor. Evidently he had taken the brunt of the eruption and was left to cope with the aftereffects. You didnât envy him.Â
Nurse Blainey had apparently promised that her patient would make up the detention as soon as he was done throwing up the contents of his stomach, which had ultimately left you stuck in Professor Weasleyâs classroom alone with the current bane of your existence.Â
You knew it was pure chance that Garreth was unable to sit in detention with the two of you, but for some reason you were convinced that Sebastian had seamlessly orchestrated the whole thing.Â
The bastard was probably feeling awfully smug about it, too.
Sebastian sat at the table furthest from you, boring holes into the side of your head that you were doing your damnedest to ignore. The only thing that likely kept him from outright trying to speak to you was Professor Weasley anally watching the two of you like a hawk in-between grading reports. She had already scolded the life out of you both, taking additional time to chastise Sebastian, because apparently she had seen him in detention âfar too many times this semesterâ. Yet another thing he had kept from you, evidently. It didnât even seem like he had taken the reprimanding to heart if his slack posture and disinterested expression was anything to go by, but you were too angry to pay it any mind.Â
This was shaping up to be the longest three hours of your fucking life.Â
The chipped wood on the edge of the desk continued to captivate your attention in favor of meeting the brunetâs unrelenting stare. Your jaw ached from how hard youâd been clenching your molars together, and your leg had cramped up twice now from bouncing it to rid yourself of the jitters that plagued you. You were prepared for the bulk of the detention to continue like that; slowly, suffocated by a tense silence, and wholly uncomfortable. That is, until the door to the classroom was thrown open rather aggressively.Â
Looking up from your desk, you watched as a nurse from the Hospital Wing barreled through the entryway, her hair disheveled beneath her bonnet and her glasses crooked atop her nose. She sucked in a sharp breath before straightening herself out and saying, âMatildaâ Iâm so sorry. Nurse Blainey asked me to fetch you. Your nephew is⊠well, heâs in quite the state.â
Professor Weasley took her own glasses off to pinch the bridge of her nose, heaving a heavy sigh before muttering, âMerlin, that boy will be the death of me, I swear. Is he alright?âÂ
âHeâsâ wellâŠâ the nurse trailed off, nervously wringing her hands together as she searched for the right words. âHeâs alive, but whatever he added to that potion is causing some⊠concerning side effects. He has four arms and quite a few extra toes presently.âÂ
âHe what?â Professor Weasley abruptly swiveled her head in Sebastianâs direction, fixing him with an incredulous look that he had the good grace to shrink at. âWhat exactly did you give him to add to that potion?âÂ
Stubbornly, you watched through your peripheral vision as Sebastian shrugged nonchalantly before murmuring, âJust troll bogeys. He didnât tell me what he was trying to accomplish with them, though.âÂ
Pointedly, Professor Weasley rose from her seat and walked around her desk, brushing a few wrinkles out of her skirt as she strode for the door. âIâll save my questions about how you got your hands on such a thing for after I get back. In the meantime, donât even think about going anywhere. Both of you.âÂ
You could only furrow your brow indignantly before she had turned her attention back to the nurse. The woman spun on her heel to lead the way without a second glance, and as soon as the massive door clicked shut behind them, your heart sank into your feet.Â
You were alone. With him.Â
An uncomfortable feeling emanated from within the room, the air ripe with tension thick enough to cut with a knife. It took everything in you to keep your eyes averted at your desk before deciding to simply put your head down against the wood. If Professor Weasley was bound to be preoccupied in the Hospital Wing for the remainder of the evening, you could at least catch some shut eye in the meantime. The events from the last week had taken a toll on you mentally, and you were beyond eager to wrap up the day so you could fall into your bed and sleep.Â
It couldnât have been thirty seconds before you felt the table jostle as the culprit of your misfortune made himself comfortable next to you, and with your face still hidden in the crook of your arm, you pursed your lips in blatant distaste.Â
Maybe if you pretended to be asleep, he would give up? There was no way he actually thought that there was a conversation to be had after everything he had done. Aside from a handful of inappropriate, choice words that were unbecoming of a lady, you had nothing to say to him.Â
Evidently, it seemed that Sebastian thought otherwise.Â
âWe need to talk.âÂ
Merlinâ even though you had heard his voice around school in the last seven days, having it directed at you while he used that deep, commanding tenor was another thing entirely. A weak, naive part of you was inclined to listen, but you stubbornly burrowed your face deeper into your arm and somehow pressed your lips together even harder. No, you thought, we donât.Â
âEither you talk to me now while weâre finally alone in here, or Iâll drag you to the Undercroft afterwards. Willingly or not.â
At that, you sat up to glare incredulously at him. The unmistakable conviction in his voice and the obstinate tilt to his chin confirmed that he wasnât lying in the slightest, and he crossed his arms over his chest as though daring you to call his bluff.Â
He wouldnâtâŠ
âI would,â he countered your thoughts with narrowed eyes, which in turn resulted in another unamused glare from you. âIâd be an idiot not to try when youâre finally in a position to listen. Especially considering youâve avoided me like the plague all week.âÂ
The audacity of this man. How dare he make you out to be some heartless villain. His status as a pariah in your eyes was his own doing, directly caused by the steady flow of manipulations and lies that had dripped from his lips for who knew how long. You had given him another chance after everything, and what did you have to show for it now? Nothing but an aching heart and enough resentments to last a lifetime.Â
âAnd whose fault is that?â you snapped, every word laced with venom. âYour priorities were made abundantly clear to me after you lied straight to my face. How long did you think you could keep it from me, hm? Did you think I was too stupid to notice, or did toeing the line right in front of me excite you somehow? Youâre not allowed to be upset that your actions had consequences.âÂ
As you sucked down a breath and fixed Sebastian with a hard, unyielding look, he stared at you oppressively. His mouth pressed together as he processed your words. Whether it was what you had said that left him speechless or the fact that you had said anything to him at all, you didnât know. Regardless, he took a second too long to reply, which gave you the chance to click your tongue disapprovingly.
âI have nothing to say to you, Sebastian. Go back to your seat before you land us in more trouble.â
At that moment, it was as if he had been doused with chilled water. Sebastian snapped out of his stupor and frowned, his back straightening as he gathered his resolve once more. âI beg to differ, I have plenty to say. We havenât even scratched the surface of what needs to be saidââ
âNothing needs to be said!â you blurted, your steely resolve crumbling ever so slightly. This wasnât as easy as you thought it would be. To spit in the face of his pleading and remain firm in your refusal to hear him out. He sounded so⊠desperate. More than that, his words were tinged with unmistakable sincerity. Some internal part of you writhed in agony as you ignored your heart and forced out, âI donât care, Sebastian. Iâm tired. I gave you plenty of chances before and youâve officially squandered every last one. I canât do this with youâ not now, not ever.âÂ
The telling sting of tears welling in your eyes had you averting your gaze to the door, silently praying for Professor Weasley to come back, because you were being made acutely aware of how difficult it was to keep this up. You had given Sebastian nearly two years of your life. You had loved himâ you still loved himâ but you didnât think you had the strength to go down this path with him again. The Dark Arts had brought the two of you nothing but misery, and for him to go back to it after all this time not only infuriated you, it saddened you.Â
He had done so well for himself. He had changed, wholly and truly. Even Ominis had let him back into his life after a grueling six months of pleading. But for him to pull all of this on you a second timeâŠÂ
How did the saying go? Fool me once; shame on you. Fool me twiceâŠ
You were tired of being tricked.Â
The sudden feeling of Sebastianâs hand skimming down your spine had your head swiveling back towards him in a flash. Your arm flew up to knock him away, but he anticipated the move and caught your wrist with his other hand, coiling his fingers around the limb to lock you in his grip. Through the well of tears in your eyes, you watched as he brought your trapped hand to his mouth, pressing a chaste, gentle kiss to the inside of your palm before nuzzling you affectionately. The motion was so tenderâ so adoringâ that you couldnât help but watch him completely dumbstruck.Â
âIâm sorry,â he murmured against the skin of your hand. Kissing you again, his dark eyes flicked back to meet yours, âIâm sorry for lying. I should have been honest from the start. Thereâs no one else I trust more in this world than you, you know that, right?âÂ
The hand on your back took to tracing languid shapes against your blouse, inching its way lower towards the waistline of your skirt, and your breath hitched in your throat as you hastily wiped away an errant tear that slipped down your cheek. You eyed him warily and curled your fingers in the hand he still held, but he made no move to pull away. âYou should have done a lot of things, Sebastian. But you canât change the past. You messed up, and I need you to accept that.âÂ
âBut what if I could?â He spoke the words in a low voice, then tilted his head down so he was gazing at you through his dark lashes. The look⊠it was predatory. Animalistic, in a way. It scared you that you even began to find the expression intriguing. Moreover, you had no clue what it was he meant⊠but you wanted to.Â
âWhat if you could what?âÂ
âWhat if I could change the past?â Your brows furrowed in alarm, but Sebastian ignored your wary countenance and slid to the edge of his seat so he was mere inches from you. The hand on your back reached the tucked hem of your shirt, his fingers brazenly sneaking beneath the material to trail his touch up your bare back, and despite your reservations, you couldnât help but shudder. âWhat if I could use power no one has ever dreamed of? What if I was close to uncovering magic that could make anything possible? Dark or not, itâs magic. It was created for a purpose. Whatâs so wrong with using it? Itâs a tool, same as all spells⊠it would be wasteful to bury it just because the Ministry says so.â
âButââ his fingers skimmed over your brassiere, toying with the metal clasps that held it in place with a look of mischievousness glimmering in his eyes. Unwilling to back down, however, you forced the rest of your retort from your lips. âItâs not just the Ministry that says so, itâs history. Look at Isidoraââ
Sebastian tugged on the hand he still had clasped in his own, drawing you into his space so suddenly that you gasped softly. He let go of your wrist to cup your cheek, leaning in more until he was so close that you could see your own reflection in his eyes. âIsidoraâs problem was that she lacked conviction. She was motivated, sure, but she still sought approval from the wrong people. Those Keepers became a vise of her own making. She was never going to get anywhere with her abilities so long as she waited for their consent.âÂ
You had a feeling you knew where he was going with this. A bad feeling.Â
âBut you?â His eyes jumped between your own, flicking down at your lips every so often as he slipped two of his fingers under the strappy attire beneath your blouse. âYou could be so much better than her. You can control your powers with so much more finesse than she ever could, and together we could unlock untold secrets about magic. Think about it, darling. You and me, unearthing troves of hidden knowledge. Whatâs the harm in that?âÂ
He didnât even give you a chance to respond. The miniscule distance between the two of you vanished in a heartbeat as Sebastian closed in, and your words were stolen from you as his lips crushed against yours with an intensity that muddled your thoughts. You werenât an idiotâ you knew this was his way of distracting you from everything; his lies, the spell book, the utterly incomprehensible bombshell he had just dropped on you. In prime Sebastian fashion, he had disarmed you completely and reduced you to putty in his hands, your previous anger momentarily forgotten as he probed around your mouth with his tongue.Â
It was entirely too predictable⊠but you would be lying if you said it wasnât addicting. You had missed him. You didnât think you would ever stop loving himâ his faults be damned.Â
The fact that the two of you were in Professor Weasleyâs classroom barely mattered to youâ especially not when the hand on your back finally undid the clasps of your brassiere with a dexterity that enticed you far more than was healthy. With that out of the way, Sebastian dragged the limb out from under your shirt and wrapped both arms around your midsection, continuously devouring the tiny sounds you made with his mouth as he hoisted you out of your chair and deposited you roughly on the desk.Â
It was positively frantic. The hurried pulling of clothes and the panted breaths exchanged in-between kisses made it seem like the two of you had been apart for years instead of one measly week. You were still angry with him for lying, and you were worried about what indulging him now would mean for the two of you later down the line⊠but for the time being, you didnât care. Sebastian was your vise, and you were certain that no matter how hard you tried, you would never be able to bring yourself to be rid of him.Â
You were left to hold yourself steady as Sebastian let go of you to tug at his belt, his teeth biting and pulling at your bottom lip harshly as he drew away briefly to flick the leather aside and undo the catch of his pants. He pulled his cock from the confines of his briefs hastily, stroking himself furiously with one hand as the other blindly gathered your skirt into a disheveled heap below your navel. The ferocity with which he yanked your undergarments down your legs made you gasp, and as soon as those were pulled down past your thighs, he went right back to swallowing up the delicious sounds you made.Â
Without breaking away, Sebastian dragged you towards the edge of the desk and lifted one of your thighs up, holding it firmly to his hip as he bumped the head of his cock against your throbbing cunt. The growing wetness there made the teasing slide of his tip through your folds positively heavenly for both of you, and you felt arousal curling in the pit of your stomach when the man before you growled.Â
He broke away from your swollen lips with a shaky exhale, and you blinked up at him as you took in the ravenous expression that adorned his handsome face. Flushed cheeks, messy hair, and a lustful, wanton gleam in his dark, bottomless eyes. It was all for you, you realized dimly.Â
It was one of the worst ideas you had ever had, but you decided to be greedy. If he was going to offer, then you were going to take.Â
You adjusted your weight so you were supporting yourself up with one hand while your other flew to the back of Sebastianâs neck. If the feeling of your nails digging into his skin was unpleasant, he definitely didnât care, seeing as he groaned appreciatively when you dragged his lips back to yours. It was all a flurry of tongue and teeth as the two of you shamelessly rutted like animals atop the desk, until he finally moved his hips to press into your sopping wet entrance, and the stretch was as delectable as it was jarring.Â
âFuck,â you heard him mutter against your lips. The fingers he had wrapped around your thigh dug into your flesh, the incredible feeling of your warm, pulsing walls enveloping him making him shudder with delight. âI love you. I love you so much, you know?âÂ
You nodded brainlessly, still processing the feeling of him breaching you. âI love you too. Youâre everything to me, Sebastian. IââÂ
His hips jerked forward at the declaration, making you cry out against your better judgement, and even though being noisy was quite possibly the worst choice either one of you could make, Sebastian seemed to relish in the sound. In a split second, he had you laid out on your back across the desk, tightening his grip on your leg with a strength you knew would leave bruises. He shook his head as he chuckled to himself, then fixed his sights on you as he began to pump his hips with a tenacity that left you breathless. Your spine arched off the wooden surface as he worked to set a brutal pace, his lust-dark eyes watching you rapaciously as your mouth fell open around a long, drawn out moan.Â
âWe were made for each other,â you heard him state gruffly. Your other leg was swiftly lifted and tossed over his shoulder, spreading you open for him so obscenely that you knew you would never be able to attend class here with a straight face ever again. The new position gave him the freedom to press his broad hand against your lower stomach as well, applying ample pressure so he could feel the head of his cock spearing into the deepest parts of you. It felt surrealâ it was mind-bogglingâ and you were certain that you broke your nails when you instinctively dragged your fingers along the desk. âTwo sides of the same coin, darling. Thatâs what we are. Youâre mine, and Iâm all yours. Only yours. You believe me, right?âÂ
Getting your tongue to work was next to impossible, so your acknowledgement came out sounding like more of a garbled wheeze. Sebastian only laughed at your fucked-out state, moving his hand from your stomach up your torso, shoving your undone brassiere out of the way to roughly squeeze one of your breasts in his warm palm. The intensity of his thrusts kicked up then, and he took to grinding his balls against the swell of your ass with every deep, aggressive plunge of his cock.Â
Through your hazy vision, you saw as his head tipped forward between his shoulders, the pleasure he derived from fucking you on the desk taking him to new heights. You were inclined to think similarly, because for some unfathomable reason, the threat of the Professor walking in at any moment only added to the rush of ecstasy that coursed through your veins.Â
The force of Sebastianâs thrusts made your arm shake as you lifted it from the desk, planting it squarely over your clit so you could rub aggressive, desperate little circles over it. The instant gratification had you groaning loud, your voice echoing off the walls of the classroom and dragging Sebastianâs attention back to you. He wrenched his hand apart from your breast to snatch yours away from your bundle of nerves, then pinned the limb to the desk beside your head.Â
He leaned in close to your face, bending your leg so far back that the sinful sound of his hips slapping against your wet skin amplified tenfold. It was equal parts embarrassing and erotic, and you mewled pitifully as he smirked and proclaimed, âThatâs my job, darling.âÂ
You were about to say that you didnât care whose job it was, so long as it was a job that got doneâ but his calloused thumb planting itself over the nub interrupted your snide comment, replacing it instantly with a quivering moan that had him twitching inside of you. Entirely at his mercy as he pounded into you, the rapid flicking he bestowed upon your clit brought you closer to that blissful edge you yearned to fall over. The fire in your gut burned hotter, your senseless noises got raspier, and in turn Sebastianâs hold on you became possessive.Â
He watched you unblinkingly, waiting for you to reach your peak with rapt focus, and all you could do was meet his unwavering stare as your climax finally washed over you. Your mouth fell open as a choked groan escaped your hoarse throat, and Sebastian swiftly released your thigh to cover your mouth with his hand, muffling the noises enough so that the sanctity of your activities wouldnât be broadcasted to anyone nearby.Â
You were hardly of a mind to careâ you were seeing stars. Everything around you flashed white as you trembled uncontrollably beneath him, your muscles tensing and your walls sucking him in impossibly deeper. A rumbling groan sounded from him as he fucked you through all of it, only deigning to increase his pace once he felt you go lax under him, and then it didnât take long for him to follow you over that edge. He repeated your name over and over again as he came, bottoming out into your soaked cunt as he emptied himself deep within your walls, those predatory eyes of his sliding shut for the briefest of moments.Â
It was hard to say how long the two of you stayed like that; coiled around one another as you both worked to control your breathing. Sebastianâs hand slipped away from your mouth, granting you the ability to suck down deep, steadying gulps of air, and shortly thereafter you felt him trail his fingers down your sides soothingly.Â
Through the post-coital haze that clouded your mind, you found yourself staring at him as he stood straight and pulled out of your brutalized folds. He tucked himself back into his pants swiftly, scanning your flushed body beneath him with a sort of unbridled longing that left you feeling exposed.Â
Where did the two of you go from here? What was next?Â
Wordlessly, Sebastian helped you sit up, huffing out a laugh when your forehead thumped against his chest weakly. He took it upon himself to fix up your clothes, tucking your shirt back into your wrinkled skirt before carefully bending down to drag your underwear back up your boneless legs. You had to shift a little to help him get them on properly, but your head stayed firmly planted against him the entire time.Â
A hand on your neck roused you from your hiding spot, and you cautiously tipped your head back to look up at him through your lashes. Sebastian stared down at you with a hopeful expression on his faceâ something else akin to excitement shadowing the look. âDo you trust me?âÂ
That was one hell of a loaded question⊠especially following everything that had transpired throughout the week. You mulled it over quietly, choosing your words carefully before opting to say, âI want to.â
He sighed and brought his other hand to your cheek, cupping your face in his clammy palms as he nodded. âOkay. No more secrets. No more lies. I swear to you, from here on out, youâll get nothing but the truth from me.â He waited to see if you would push him away or refute the statement, but you didnât. You just pursed your lips, hesitating only briefly before nodding. It seemed pointless to call his bluff right now. âWould you come with me? To do all the things I told you about?â
From outside the classroom, you could suddenly hear the sound of muffled voices approaching. Professor Weasley had to be returning from the Hospital Wing, and the two of you were still in a very precarious position. One that was guaranteed to land you in more trouble than you could fathom.Â
Sebastian jerked your face back towards him, forcing your eyes to return to his as he looked at you with sheer desperation. âWould you?â he reiterated urgently.Â
âIââ you gingerly lifted your hands to hold his wrists, opening and closing your mouth as you worked to formulate words. âI donât know, Sebastian. Itâs a scary prospect, and so many things could go wrongââÂ
âNot if we work together,â he insisted, chancing a quick look at the massive doorway. The voices and footsteps from outside were getting louder, and you got the distinct impression that Sebastian thought that you were running out of time. He looked back at you, eyes burning, âIf we do this togetherâ as a teamâ thereâs so much we could accomplish. You and me against the world, darling. We can bring in a new era of magic that no one has ever dreamed of. You just have to trust me.âÂ
It was terrifying to consider. It was balmy and likely to end in the worst of ways. You were both still so youngâ still figuring out where you stood in a world run by magic. Your shared, tumultuous past with Sebastian had barely opened your eyes to the surface of what your abilities could do. Of that, you were certain. Part of you was afraid to traverse that path once again and run the risk of something worse than Solomon transpiring.Â
But another, much stronger part of you was curious to test your limits. Sebastian wasnât wrong; Isidoraâs magic was ripe with potential, and if he really did mean to help you along the wayâŠÂ
If you couldnât convince him to veer away from the path he had chosen, the least you could do was walk it with him. Maybe doing so would prove beneficial⊠or maybe it wouldnât. There was no way of knowing for certain.Â
âI do trust you,â you said plainly, the weight of the statement settling over the two of you like a blanket of iron. Despite your reasoning behind saying the words, you still couldnât help but feel like youâd just signed a deal with the devil.Â
He smiled at you then, the sight blinding when coupled with the excitement that glimmered in his captivating, brown eyes. Your grip on his wrists tightened a fraction, and Sebastian used your own hold on him to tug you off the desk and into his arms in one, swift motion. âThen hold on tight, darling.âÂ
It should have been impossibleâ and the implications of the action left your mind reelingâ but in the next second, a deafening crack sounded all around the two of you and echoed off the walls of the classroom. Moon in the
Juno Persona Chart

Juno asteroid (3) This post only applies to the Juno persona chart. The moon here tells you about how you connect with your future spouse or what emotional attachment you look for in an ideal relationship. It also tells you about how you feel & instinctively act throughout the progression of the relationship. This only applies when you are in the relationship.
àšà§ Please do not repost without consent Êâ ÂŽâ âąâ ᎄâ âąâ `â Êàž
đ
In the signs, houses & degrees
đȘAries (°1,°13,°25) @ The first house (I)
You may be rather erratic around them once you do get into a relationship however, a lack of patience may be a reoccurring theme as well. You may act rather childishly in the relationship i.e acting jealous, petty or even irrational at times around your person. You may show a lot of your "primal" emotional state one that isn't filtered or seen through rose coloured lenses. Both of you may have trouble expressing love in a traditional way i.e not completely comfortable being all lovey dovey or touchy feely at times, but it's not like it's completely void of that type of affection. Bickering just comes easier ^^".
Ex: My parents both have their Juno moon in an Aries degree (°1 & °13). Boy when I tell you these two are always arguing about something ( it's not really serious) but it's more like they both do not have any patience dealing with each other. They do not work well under pressure lmao. It's like little kids disagreeing with each other at times. Always trying to prove who's right and who's wrong. They don't hate each other, they just have a somewhat tsundere way of expressing their emotions to each other. It's funny, but also annoying looking at it from the perspective of their child.
đȘTaurus (°2,°14,°26) @ The second house (II)
You will feel very relaxed around your partner. You may have a sibling like dynamic where you may bicker and tease each other often, but it's not anywhere as "intense" as Aries. You won't be quick to anger, but there is a tendency to get rather lazy around your partner i.e wanting to stay home and do nothing all day. You may feel like your partner is your property in a way, wanting them to be just for you. You may also be rather sensitive to your partner's actions or habits. You are loyal, reliable & get very romantic around your partner.
đȘGemini (°3,°15,°27) @ The third house (III)
You will likely feel like you're always on your toes around your partner. You may be required to think critically a lot, your partner may come to you for advice often therefore it's important for you to be or at least feel aware/awake. There is also a tendency to overreact (especially if in Aries/cancer degrees/houses). You will feel and act rather childishly as well, although not as hot headed as our Aries friend lol. Your expressions become more animated, and you're liking going to be more experimental in the relationship i.e want to explore or try new things with your partner.
đȘCancer (°4,°16,°28) @ The fourth house (IV)
You are very, emotional with your partner. Acting more clingy around them or seeing them as your primary source of comfort. You are very affectionate with them, and may also tend to be dependant on them on certain things. You also have a tendency to mother them at times i.e taking care of their basic needs, listening to them rant and soothe their hearts / egos. You are also very sensitive to their mood swings especially, perhaps blaming yourself for things that go wrong even if the source of the problem isn't you. You also enjoy ranting to your partner.
đȘ Leo (°5,°17,°29) @ The fifth house (V)
You have a lot of love and adoration for your partner. You may be very flirty, and playful with them in the relationship. In your eyes, your partner is your only lover, wanting to feel adored and in some ways worshipped by them. Your partner's attention means the world to you, so you may get quite jealous when that attention is taken off of you. You are very generous when it comes to complimenting your partner. You feel good when you know you've made them happy and important. You may be quite dramatic too, displaying much playful exaggeration on a daily basis.
đȘ Virgo (°6,°18) @ The sixth house (VI)
You are the dependable, slightly erratic partner. The problem solver, but at the same time your critical nature can sometimes start disagreements within the relationship. Especially if your partner has more a "carefree" moon placement in their JPC. That being said you are extremely loyal as well, and you show that you love your partner by expressing your concern towards them. Whether that'd be by asking them about their day, or finding the smallest way to get closer to them on a daily basis. Showing them you care through your advice and recommendations. Their opinion means the world to you, and their dissatisfactions can ruin your whole day.
đȘ Libra (°7,°19) @ The seventh house (VII)
You will feel very comfortable around them. Something about them may make you feel balanced or more composed, and easygoing. It's a pleasant feeling that grows lovelier with time. You may strive to keep a sense of equity in the relationship, not wanting your partner to be the only one carrying the burden in the relationship. For the most part, you will not engage in petty rivalry or disagreements when something hurtful does arise you are able to tackle it with a fair judgement. Though, there is a tendency to sweep certain things under the rug just so you do not hurt your partner. Very flirty, and you'll always have your partner in mind, no matter what you're doing.
đȘ Scorpio (°8,°20) @ The eighth house (VIII)
You are very, and I mean very protective of your partner. You may love keeping them close to you often, especially when you're out together. You get possessive, and jealousy very easily in the relationship. However, you also give your all to your partner. Giving them the time of day and all the attention they may need. You may develop a strong attachment to them almost as if they are your property lmao. Your connection will be anything but shallow, as you desire to melt into your partner, sharing everything you have i.e secrets, fears and promises. So you can sort of see why you'll be protective in the first place. Your person is your true safe space & that is something you never wish to share.
đȘ Sagittarius (°9,°21) @ The ninth house (IX)
This is also a sign that you'll feel comfortable around them. Conversations come naturally, although there may this feeling that you should be guiding them or something similar to Virgo/the 6th house, but here you're more of a mentor. Perhaps you will feel like your partner is very playful or supportive (or they may look like they need to lighten up). Perhaps their presence always has a way of lightening your mood. There's this friendly chemistry between you that will make you keeping want more of them. You are the mood maker of the household, wanting the energy to be bright and optimistic.
đȘ Capricorn (°10,°22) @The tenth house (X)
In this relationship, you will feel very stable. Your emotional state depends on whether you have your shit together, if your partner is well & if you're able to provide for them. Perhaps you feel like you have a sort of status to uphold as well. You want them to see you as someone mature & dependable. That you aren't looking to play around. You may have trouble expressing your emotions to them completely, as you'd rather be the person that they come to for support. You also display a lot of patience & restraint when met with turbulence or disagreements in the relationship. Though it may make you seem rather dry at times even if you aren't. Your partner is the only lover you see. However, there may be control issues that arise as well on your part.
đȘ Aquarius (°11,°23) @The eleventh house (XI)
You'll feel quite uninhibited in your relationship. Being able to express yourself however you want, whenever you want. You allow both yourself & your partner emotional independence, and jealousy is not really an issue when it comes to you (depends on the sign/house/degree it's in as well) as you do not feel the need to question your partner's loyalty. You may come to intellectualize your emotions to some degree in your relationship. Perhaps you will be more sentimental about your connections, and society as well. Somehow thinking of the effects your relationship may have to those around you. Being in this relationship may make you unconsciously think of others.
đȘ Pisces (°12,°24) @ The twelfth house (XII)
This placement can be tricky, there are two sides of this coin. On one side, you will feel extremely connected with your FS/SO you will be especially patient and forgiving of your person, spiritually you may feel like you are one in the same and that your love can triumph all that opposes. For the most part, it's fine. You are loving, kind and very attentive to your person's emotional well-being or state. However, there may be a tendency to act based on favoritism i.e how you want to interpret things. In reality, you may be quite disconnected with your person not being able to see their worries or concerns. Still, it does not diminish your affection for your person. There is this sense of longing for your partner even if they are right next to you. You partners feelings will feel like an extension of your own.

hi! I was wondering if you could write a story about aaron and reader are arguing because reader is jealous about him having to kiss a girl in a movie he was doing and he had to prove to them that he loves them and only them. please and thank you
Let me cook !! I hope youâll like ! (I felt free to add smut to it because why notttt)

aaron pierre x actress!reader
Warnings : +18 (MDNI), nasty smutty, established relationship, jealousy, cranky reader
Itâs been a long day for both of you. The set was chaotic, the director demanding, and the long hours had made you cranky. But what truly sent your heart spiraling was the news youâd just heard.
Your man had to kiss another woman for a scene in his movie. You hadnât meant to overhear the conversation, but as you stood in the doorway of his trailer, the words hit you like a ton of bricks. Your stomach twisted, your chest tightened. You knew it was part of his job, but that didnât stop the jealousy that clawed at you, irrational but raw.
Now, sitting in his car, you can barely look at him. The tension between you two is palpable, and the silence is thick, uncomfortable.
Aaron looks over at you, his jaw clenched, but his eyes soft. âBaby, talk to me. I donât like when youâre like this.â
You scoff, crossing your arms tightly over your chest, staring out the window. âLike what?â
He takes a breath, turning fully towards you now. âYouâre upset. I can tell. I donât know why, but I can feel it.â You huff, shaking your head, but you canât hide the hurt in your voice. âI just⊠I donât get why you had to kiss her. I know itâs your job, butââ
His hands fly up in frustration, but not in anger. Itâs more like heâs frustrated at himself for making you feel this way. âNo, listen to me, okay? That kiss meant nothing. Nothing at all.â
âI know it was just acting,â you say, voice small. âBut still⊠You kissed her. I donât know if my weak ass can handle that."
He reaches over and gently places his hand on your knee, his touch warm and grounding. âBaby, Iâve been kissing you for years. Thereâs only one person who has my heart, and thatâs you. No matter whatâs in the script, no matter what I have to do on set, youâre the one Iâm coming home to.â
You glance at him, searching his face, looking for any sign of insincerity. But all you see is love. His eyes are soft, pleading, and filled with everything you need to hear.
âAnd Iâm sorry I made you feel this way,â he continues, his voice low. âYou mean everything to me. Iâm not going anywhere, and I donât want anyone else.â
Tears start to sting your eyes as his words hit you. Slowly, you reach for his hand, intertwining your fingers with his. âIâm sorry, too papa,â you whisper, gently playing with his fingers. âI didnât mean to be jealous like this. I just⊠I love you so much. I canât stand the thought of anyone else touching you like I do.â
Aaron leans in and presses a soft kiss to your forehead. âAnd you never will. Because no matter what, itâs you and me. Always.â
Now, as the rest of the trip was quiet, the only audible sound being the radio, you thought things had calmed down between you. How wrong you were. You didnât even the time to step out of your shoes that aaron took you to yâallâs bedroom.
"Aaron- what are you doing ?" You asked, following him as he entered the room, closing the door behind him.
The tension between yâall thickened, and even if the only source of light in the room was the sunsetâs, you could still see aaron slightly tightening his jaw as he looked down at you.
It was like he was actually realizing just how deeply all of this was affecting you. He pulled you closer to his, brushing his lips against your ear. " Iâm sorry you felt that way. I need to show you youâre the only one who can have me.â
He never actually felt like this, never been the object of oneâs jealousy. But this was nice âapart from the part where it makes you upsetâ it made him feel even more connected to you.
Thatâs how he now had you wrapped in his body, almost in his skin. His dick was buried in you so deep, but his fingers were so delicate on your skin, his kisses so gentle. "Papa is so sorry for making you jealous baby, will you forgive him ?" He asks as he fucked himself into your sweet pussy. You felt so good around him, your hips grinding to try to meet his.
"haaâ fuck !"
"Câmon tell me bub. You forgive me ?" He asks again, lips against your shoulder. You whine softly, trying to push back against him.
"Yeah baby, youâre forgiven- mh !" You whine. Aaron chuckles a bit before his hands grasp your hips to hold you steady. With one firm thrust, he is breaching your folds and sliding deep inside you. your head dropping to the pillow below you as you whimper through the burn. The stretch burns more then you anticipated, and you hear him groaning softly, which sends another wave of liquid heat rushing through you.
"God you feel so good baby, you take my cock so fucking well." He praises you, gently pulling out to slowly thrust back in. His eyes are locked on the place where you two connect, watching with hooded eyes as his cock disappears inside you.
"Oh myâ why are you fucking me like this ?..feels so good.."
"I wish you could see this baby." He praises again through a soft moan, and you drink up every sound he makes. "Iâm yours baby, take your dick."
You needed this so bad and you actually loved the fact that you were the only one who could give him this type of relief.
Yours yours yours yours yours. he was yours.
Your forehead presses against the bed, muffled and strangled cries escaping your lips every time aaron hits deep inside you. His cock stretches you perfectly, and always hits places deep inside you. Places you didn't know existed. Soon you feel your orgasm creeping up on you, almost making you feel lightheaded.
"Please make your pussy cum papa, im so close." You beg, muffling your moans with your palm as he drives his cock into you. You feel sweat covering your entire body and aaron holds your hips with a bruising force. You feel that coil winding tighter and tighter, and you release a high pitched whine when his hand actually snakes around your body to thumb your clit.
"Papa this dick feels so good, soo good baby. Always feels so good, fuck baby I love you," You're not sure what you're saying at this point, an incoherent mess of praises for the man above you. "Nah, this is your dick baby, say it."
"My dickâItâs mine, mine, mine." You repeat mindlessly, pleasure taking over you. "shit, I love you too baby." He answers.
Aaron loved when he could reduce you to incoherent words and disconnected statements because of him. slamming his cock inside you and rolling your clit before you're squeezing around him tightly, your mouth falls open in a silent scream. You cum in hot gushes around him and he can only offer a few more sloppy thrusts before he's cumming with a loud growl, coating your walls in his hot cum.
chest heaving from the exertion, aaron feels more relaxed than he has all day. There's a small smile on your face and your eyes are closed as your legs finally give out and you collapse against the sheets.
"Are you okay bub ?" You hear, and you can't help but smile when you hear that he's panting slightly. You hum with a smile on your face. "Iâm sorry i got cranky over this, I love you."
"Thatâs okay mama. I understand you, but I want you to know Iâm yours, only yours."

beautiful mess | f. odair

masterlist
summary: finnick knows exactly how to comfort you in a moment of insecurity.
pairing: finnick odair x fem!reader
warnings: established relationship, menstruation, fluff, boyfriend!finnick being a cutie patootie, angst, mild hurt/comfort, insecurity, a little overdramatic but itâs cute idc
notes: about to get my period so this is kind of self-indulgent lmao. the number of times I rewrote this is insane. i hope i didnât disappoint <3
âYou know, I think I could pull off one of those long wizard beards,â Finnick said, admiring himself in the bathroom mirror as he shaved down the slight stubble on his jaw. âThose ones that go down to your chest? I could decorate it with little seashells and twine. Itâd look hot, donât you think?â
His playful words didnât register in your mind.
Frustrated tears threatened to spill as the hairbrush in your hand tugged harshly at the roots of your hair. Nausea was bubbling in your stomach as you stared at your reflection, feeling as though not a single human being in history had ever looked as ugly as you did right now.
âSweetheart?â
Here you were standing next to a Greek god, meanwhile, your skin was all hot and blotchy, your hair was a tangled mess, and your stomach was aching something awful. Christ, you hated being on your period.
A hard lump was lodged in your throat; you tried to swallow it, but there was no use. Warm tears had already begun to stream down your cheeks. Unable to bear the sight of yourself any longer, you turned away from the mirror. As you reached for the bathroom door handle, a sharp unexpected cramp pierced at your insides, causing your legs to buckle and collapse to the cold tiled floor.
That was the last straw. You just couldnât hold it in anymore. A disharmony of cries burst from your lips, reverberating around the small room as your shuddering body folded over itself. Curse the Fates for having you been born a girl.
Finnick, now switched to panic mode, quickly dropped to his knees before you, eyes wide and alert.
âHey, hey!â he said soothingly as his hand moved to rub your back in support, though he wasnât even sure what he was supporting.
A thousand-and-one distressing thoughts flew through his mind. Had someone died? Were you injured? Were you dying? Obviously, these ideas were a little irrational considering you were just standing next to him a second ago. But seeing the love of his life in pain and not knowing why made him fear the absolute worst.
âBaby, what happened? Whatâs wrong?â
All you could do was sob in response. You felt pathetic. Stupid, ugly, and pathetic. âHow can youââ Another sob left your lipsâ âstand to look at me?!â
You could feel his hand stop moving which, illogically, made you even more upset.
âWhat?â he asked quietly. âWhat do you mean âstand to look at youâ? Please, sweetheart. Talk to me.â
Finally, you forced yourself to sit up, revealing the tears that streaked your distraught expression. Finnickâs brows scrunched together, almost like he was in pain watching you in such a state of disarray. He tried to think of anything he mightâve done to make you feel this way because, of course, the first thing Finnick Odair would do was blame himself. But nothing came to mind.
Your heavy heart sankâhe looked so worried. A part of your brain knew you were overreacting. Justa little bit. It made you feel even more terrible, knowing he was panicked simply because you didnât like how you looked. NeverthelessâŠ.
âI look so ugly!â you cried. âMy hair is all knotted, my face is all red and gross, my stomach is cramping, andâandâŠÂ Iâm just a mess!â You buried your face in your hands. âWhy are you even with me?â
Shock was an understatement compared to what Finnick felt when those words left your mouth. Never in a million years would he believe someone like youâsomeone who looked like youâcould ever possibly be insecure about their appearance, and now, of all times.
He gently reached out and removed the hands that shielded your face. You attempted to turn away to conceal yourself in shame, in fear that if he got too close, he would discover your flaws and see you the way you saw yourself. But he caught your chin with a single finger and compelled you to meet his gaze.
Yes, your skin was a little red and your eyes were a little bloodshot, but that didnât mean you looked ugly. In fact, your rosy cheeks glowed with such radiance that the teardrops falling from your crystalline eyes looked like shimmering diamonds. Your lips, which were slightly quivering, were reddened and plumpâan alluring contrast to the hue of your skin.
Not that he would say it given the insensitivity and selfishness of admitting such a thought, but he believed you cried quite beautifully.
âBecause I donât think youâre a mess,â Finnick said softly, ironically tucking multiple disordered strands of hair behind your ear. âYouâre human, and you donât need to look or feel perfect all the time. Thatâs why youâve got meâIâll always think the most of you. And when youâre feeling this way, Iâll always remind you so too.â
You tried to allow his compassionate words to seep into your brain, tried to turn his beliefs into your own. However, the storm of emotions inside your mind was refusing to dissipate. The insecurities just wouldnât subside and Finnick could see it in your glossy eyes.
âListen to me,â he said, his thumb brushing away a tear that fell across your skin. âWaking up and seeing your gorgeous face next to mine? Thatâs what gives me the strength to get up every morning. Those imperfections youâre so adamant about? They only make me love you so much more.
I love every part of you. Every so-called flaw, every tangled strand of hair on that pretty little head of yours.â He grinned as he consolingly ran his fingers through your hair which, in his opinion, was perfectly soft and smooth. âYouâre my girl and nothing will ever make me want it any other way.â
Hearing his declaration had your heart aching in your chest. Your hand curled around his arm, needing some physical anchor to the reassuring words he spoke. There was nothing but sincerity in his voice, a sure-fire sign that he was telling the truth.
You realised you never had to worry about Finnick finding you unattractive. Though you were a little worried he was partially blind which, unfortunately, represented your own seemingly unshakeable insecurities.
âI wish I could see myself the way you do,â you whispered, voice hoarse from crying.
âI know,â he sighed. âI know, but just give it time. One day youâll look back and wonder what the hell you were thinking. I mean, you? Ugly? Sweetheart, we might need to get you some glasses.â
You sniffled, lips stretching into a wobbly smile. âYouâre an idiot.â
He lifted your hands to his lips, kissing your knuckles. âOnly for you,â he quipped in response, wearing a light-hearted smirk on his lips. âCome here.â
He opened his arms, beckoning you to seek solace in his embrace. You scooted closer, sinking into his broad chest as his arms enveloped you. Your legs were folded awkwardly beneath your body and Finnickâs back ached from the lack of support behind him, but neither of you seemed to mind.
What is love without a little suffering?
His hand stroked the length of your hair, curling random strands between his fingers in admiration. Your fingertips danced across his tanned skin, amorously tracing the words âI love youâ over and over. You werenât sure if he even noticed; it didnât really matter. The sentiment remained true.
You listened to his heart beating centimetres from your ear. Thump. Thump. Thump. And you were grateful it beat for you. You were so, so grateful for Finnick. For his strong arms that soothed you in their embrace. For his lips that released a swarm of butterflies in your stomach with just a quirk of their corners. For his voice that could lift you from the deepest, darkest pit at any given moment.
So, when you whispered, âThank you,â it was much more than a show of appreciation for his words of reassurance. It was gratitude for his existence. His entire being. For his love which echoed your own.
âAlways,â he whispered in return.
Time began to pass but you remained in the same positionâholding each other closely, dearly. And then as more minutes passed, rationality began to set in. You were thinking about apologising for your dramatics, but Finnick had other ideas.
âWait, did you say your stomachâs cramping?â he asked suddenly. You simply nodded. âAre you on your period?â
Your head turned to bury your face against his chest in embarrassment. âYes,â your voice muffled into his shirt.
Finnick grinned to himself. He didnât want to play the stereotype card but knowing that detail helped him understand your actions a little better now.
âWell,â he began, gently coaxing you away from his chest so he could look into your eyes. âHow about you come sit with me in the kitchen, hm?â He caressed the line of your cheekbone as he spoke. âIâll cook you some pancakes and then we can both melt into the couch all day. Does that sound good?â
You pretended to think about it for a moment, the hint of a smile tugging at your lips. âChocolate chip pancakes?â
He made some noise between a chuckle and a scoff. âOf course. Anything else would be a culinary tragedy.â
âOh, Finnick Odair,â you proclaimed theatrically, winding your arms around his neck as you pulled yourself further against him. âHow I love you so.â
In response, his face lit up with a stupidly lovesick grin. This man will be the absolute death of me, you silently swore. You couldnât help but lean in and press a soft endearing kiss to each dimple that hollowed his cheeks; doing so only made his smile stretch impossibly wider.
The touch of his deft fingertips settled on the sides of your cheeks, holding your face in his hands like it was his most prized possessionâtechnically, you were. His smile never disappeared as he leaned forward, kissing you with such ardent affection that you were afraid your heart might give out from the consuming potency of his adoration.
It tasted like salt, your tears having now dried on your lips. More importantly, it tasted like love. Warm, sweet, syrupy love.
You pulled away, murmuring against his lips, âYou would look hot with a wizard beard, by the way."
He chuckled lightly, sustaining the five-second break before returning to your lips to whisper the words, âI knew it.â

So much of coachâs narrative comes down to agency and his continual loss of it and I find that devastating. His struggle to be autonomous is wrapped up in his rocky relationship to his identity which is why he chose nationals over Paul despite maybe knowing in the back of his mind that making the terrifying decision could change his life for the better, and assuming he is guaranteed return. He values what he perceives to be safety over happiness because itâs all he knows, only to be wrong, and ends up regretting it in retrospect. The crash puts him in a position where despite being able bodied his entire life, he suddenly has to rely on a group of teenagers, his students whom heâs expected to care for himself and feels a responsibility to, are now the ones taking care of him, and overseeing other survival tasks that despite his practical know-how, he finds himself unable to do.
As they spend more time in the wilderness it becomes apparent to him that the team doesnât really want nor need his help or advice anymore and feeling, too, that he might be useless, he resigns himself to inaction and fails the team he was supposed to protect and support without meaning to because his control over them is fickle and dwindling anyway. He tries to intervene both times but is met with disagreement from the collective as two of his students die preventable deaths because what does he have aside from his words, and would they listen anyway? He falls into despair imagining what his life might have looked life if he had chosen himself, if he had exercised any agency, but hypotheticals are useless. He checks out entirely as Shauna is giving birth in the other room.
He takes his life into his own hands for possibly the first time by deciding to end it and is interrupted. He realizes what witnessing an event like that would do to Misty and chooses his responsibility to her instead.
He finally makes an autonomous choice again in leaving; wanting not to hurt them but to save himself and so he stays far away. He leaves behind the only person he can trust because she has made it clear to him that she isnât so different from the rest of them, and not for the first time, he is left completely alone. He regains his will to live but not even necessarily because thatâs what he wants and more because heâs afraid, and in his head, the alternative is dying and being eaten. He is hyper aware of the way his leg is a disadvantage to him in a survival situation. So he leaves.
He scavenges and starves but makes do on his own. He adapts. He kidnaps Mari and feeds her and fixes her knee because even after the fear that prompts his departure, sheâs scared and sheâs hurt and sheâs his to take care of. He knows that even if it means he pays for it with his life, he has to let her go. He probably figures she will talk, what other choice does she have? Upon being found, he saves Shauna and Van and Akilah, only to be captured. He knows going into the trial that it wonât be fair. He has no other options. He has no agency.
He is sentenced to death for a crime he didnât commit. Heâs placed in an animal pen, his only means of mobility withheld from him. Heâs dragged to a tree to be shot by his former team and isnât even afforded the dignity of a look in the eye as they do it. He canât do anything about it. An eleventh hour prophetic vision spares his life, but the severing of his Achilles as the newly settled upon punishment violently strips him of what mobility he had left, and he hadnât been afforded agency since he was off on his own. Heâs left immobile and heâs in pain and he isnât even allowed to die of his own accord despite his begging and pleading. Even if he knows itâs selfish or horrible or irrational to ask Nat to help him do it, he keeps begging because he has nothing left. Not even choice.
To be allowed to die is the one thing he wants and in granting him his final wish, She gives him back his agency. Itâs not what she wants for him and she will feel that guilt for the rest of her life. She knows it will get her in trouble with the rest of the group, but itâs what he wants. That means something to her.
