in today's letter: cicero gets off topic to talk about the various ways he has on different occasions saved the republic! several times! cicero makes a joke that shackleton bailey doesn't understand! cornificius has succesfully remained governor of his province despite antony's shenanigans—hopefully this will go well for him! cicero has been insulting the alternate governor until the guy just Gave Up! cicero is once again clapping and cheering for That Outstanding Boy, Caesar Octavian! and there's a sexy little ship of state image!

Are you considering making Firestar purebred? Not that it matters to the plot lol. I’ve always designed him after an Abyssinian :3

I know the clans have a bunch of mixed genetics so they wouldn’t *be* purebred, but do you have any breed HCs for specific cats? I draw Yellowfang based on scrungly persians myself :)

Nah! I'm actually only considering purebred cats for SkyClan to put some more of their kittypet-ancestry on display!

I think thematically it works really well for SkyClan specifically, and will make for some really cool ancestral traits to be passed down in the coming generations... even though realistically, no cat with SkyClan ancestry would be "purebred."

(in fact purebreeding discourages outbreeding often to the detriment of the health of the cats but woogh)

I'm not super fond of picking out breed headcanons otherwise because it feels stifling, like Cat Genetics, another thing I'm not interested in. When I want Bluestar's family to have a wolf motif I just draw them having a wolf motif. Next to Brokenstar's glasses, Spottedleaf's blight theme, or Thrushpelt's mullet, just picking a cat breed seems mundane.

I like to design with "soft" fantasy elements in mind! It's why I have a very 'Bring Your Own Design' approach to my rewrite and encourage people to have different takes on stuff. Never been able to draw realistically.

(actual ecological/bushcraft/medical research? I'm plugged in. Drawing realism? Not my style.)

Though, I do think Silverflame's mate was a cat with extreme brachycephaly. A persian-like cat. I imagine Brightflower had a few breathing problems as a result, but by the time it got to Yellowfang she has enough muzzle to be healthy and for it to just be a quirk of her family.

With my plane fixing study notes lately I've been writing little factoids or small supporting details on little scrap pieces of paper or sticky notes that I'd staple or tape in the corner or margins of the paper. Helps break the walls of text

Kinda thinking once I've caught up and got the last part of my license, gonna do the same with the little notebook I've been keeping of little ideas I want to draw (cause good ideas that spawn up randomly quickly get lost just as fast for me, I write em down so I can play with it later c: ). Little scap paper pieces kinda scrapbooked in there alongside main written ideas with little headcanons, thumbnails, a particular composition for a drawing or comic, maybe a blurb to help develop a new character or idea. :'3

We are all going to die in a genocide of nearly every marginalized community once the republican party inevitably comes to power again. There is no hope for us. We are in the final days of any degree of free will within this cursed country, and only due to a pathetic stalemate within many of the highest courts. The president has signed the country's death warrent by being a genocide supporting lunatic and kneecapping his chances of reelection; guaranteeing that one of the murderous candidates of the republican party, a party who's literal stated goals on their official platforms are just to spread pain and misery, inevitably becomes president, due to how much more cultishly united republican voter are on average. And once they acquire the full power of both the house, senate, and supreme court, they will use its full might to keep themselves in power permanently and end us all. We are all going to die. My fellow segment's hopes for a future, any future, are unattainable. Because we are all going to die.

hm. that "share something good that happened in 2024" post had me thinking. i should take note of things that make me happy throughout this year. surprisingly, i dont have an empty notebook to do this in so heres a note for today to write down later

friends i havent seen in a while visited and we went for a walk through the park, saw ducks and geese and mergansers and found two geocache boxes and went to dunkin and had a good chat and it was a very nice day today

where do i sign?? there's not one episode so far that i haven't fucking sobbed jfc skskkss that was Trauma Central™ in under 3 minutes....like there really was no need for that apart from inflicting pain toward the viewers i fucking SWEAR. they just introduce you to these lovely and sweet characters and dangle that found family trope above your head ONLY TO TAKE IT AWAY FROM YOU AT THE LAST FUCKING MINUTE OF THE EPISODE and maybe i'm just naive thinking that ellie and sam will not be ALONE (crying sobbing i hate it here when ellie shared her fear I'M JUST) and then henry can annoy mister grumpy ol' joel for the fun of it and there's laughs and jokes even during trying times and it'll be like a fun found family road trip and everyone will be happy BUT I WAS A FUCKING FOOL TO BELIEVE THAT FOR A SECOND. anyways is it obvious i'm feeling a lot of feelings alskalks
