One take on the alternate universe is to say that Silco found Vander's note and Silco went back to Vander. But what if it was Vander who went back to Silco?

There's an implication in 2.07 that Vi dying at Jayce's led to a de-escalation, because the enforcers didn't end up chasing the kids back to Zaun to recover the stones. But would Mr. Drown-My-Best-Friend really accept peace when his daughter has been killed and his other kids locked up? I think he snaps, hunts down Silco, and says they're getting their revenge and breaking out the kids, whatever the cost, however bloody Silco's methods.

How do we get from there to the happy times of the AU? One idea is Jayce. Let's say he's locked up waiting for trial wherever the kids are, wracked by guilt, aware his life as he knows it is over. When Vander and Silco burst in, I think he says: More people shouldn't have to die for my mistake. Take my life in exchange and this can end here.

I don't think it's hard to believe that the sudden show of force spurred on by Vi's death - the base violence necessary for change, etc - could be enough to broker a wary peace, which over the years leads to beneficial economic cooperation. Vander and Silco guide Zaun through an era of peace thanks to the threat of violence lurking just within reach - a bloody-toothed viciousness they both find natural, that they always knew would be effective.

Ignoring the real possibility he intentionally let himself be caught from the little we know so far Luigi Mangione's case is a fascinating combination of astonishing brilliance and confusing stupidity. This young man plans and executes his assassination and escape with such a meticulous care and calmness that it's suspected that he's a professional hitman. He comes up with Riddler-sque moves like writing his manifesto poetically on the bullets and leaving his backpack behind full of Monopoly money. He carefully wears a mask to avoid being identified but removes it because a woman who was checking him into the hostel was flirting with him and wanted to see his smile. Because for some reason he had the same clothes and mask as in New York and was carrying the same gun and suppressor. And when the cops detained him he showed them the same fake id he used in New York. And oh yeah he's a frat bro gym rat who has a masters degree in computer science from Penn but reads stupid self-help books about being on the grind and is 'anti-woke' while being bisexual suffering from anxiety and wanting to end oppressive capitalism. Death Note AU where hbomberguy makes a five hour long video about youtuber Light Yagami that's initially completely unrelated to the murders (Light would probably plagiarize or have really unhinged right-wing political takes if he was on youtube)

but halfway through he reveals that while researching he stumbled upon evidence that Light might be behind the Kira murders, and then spends like fourty minutes explaining the concept of a shinigami, an hour explaining how he thinks Light used one to commit murders, and then another hour explaining Light's ideology and why the concept of criminals being inherently evil is flawed

He finishes the video by addressing Light directly and telling him that he (Hbomberguy) had his name legally changed before uploading the video, to something that only he knows, making it impossible for Light to kill him
