literally just a short lil thing i wrote bc @callmehere-iwillappear and i were smacking our AU's together like dolls talking about if death wish sensei/leo and call me here leo met ... and then i got emotional abt ghost leo being a touch starved baby who doesn't get any hugs LMAO
[]
"What's with the tree?" The dead version of himself asked, kicking the trunk of the tree and looking up to watch the vibrations ripple up and shake the branches.
Sensei thought he looked so young, but he always thought that about his Leo. Though this new one had a quality that was different -- a hungry sort of loneliness, something in his eyes was almost desolate, like someone lost or homeless. He had been immediately willing to jump into the mindscape when they said maybe he could interact with them in there. "I'm the tree." Sensei said, waiting for him. They'd decided on Leon for the ghostly version, if only to save confusion with three Leo's in one brain. Leon's grin was flawless, turning to Sensei and saying, "Hey man, you look great for a tree." "You look great for a ghost." Sensei said. "Are you coming to see if you can get a hug or not?" The grin wavered. He didn't come closer, one arm hugging the other in what was probably a subconscious self-soothing gesture. "It probably won't work." "Where's your scientific method? Donnie would be so disappointed." Sensei goaded. He wondered how many times Leon had tried to get a hug and failed in order to be so pessimistic about it. It was a sore spot in his throat to think about. "Do I look like I know science?" Leon replied, and it was so a front because any Leo in the world would've absorbed at least the basics of the scientific method from their twin by sheer osmosis alone. "Test your theory before you discard it." Sensei didn't want to push him, not getting closer, but opening his arm in offer. Visible conflict on Leon's face. Want and pain. It vanished like smothering a fire with a blanket and he said, "Fine, but only because an old man like you looks like he needs a hug." Sensei snorted. He waited, and Leon approached, reaching out a hand. It shook just a little, and landed on his bicep. "Oh." Leon said, disbelieving. Then threw himself at Sensei. It was such an unexpected burst of energy that it knocked him directly off his feet. Sensei oofed and laughed, squishing the littler Leon to his chest. Leon tried to say something but it only came out as a strangled noise. He squeezed his eyes shut and buried his face in Sensei's plastron. Sensei's heart broke for him, rubbing his shell in circles how he knew all Leo's appreciated. "Heads up!" Leo shouted, leaping from the branches and colliding with their hug. It burst a hysterical laugh from Leon's chest, rolling to include the new body in their tangled hug, holding tight like they didn't need to let go.

"You're doing very well, Yumi!" Garmadon's smile blinds her, but she doesn't mind, too happy to hear this compliment. "It's great you're getting more control of the Dream element."
"But, Master..." Yumi interrupts. "I'm still bothered by nightmares where you're gone, and I don't know what to do... They feel so real... And so painful..."
She sighs heavily. These nightmares have become her second life, and that hurts.
"Well, I think it's your last test from the Dream," Garmadon replies with kind smile. "You should choose which world you belong."
Yumi looks carefully at Sensei's face, and the feeling of hope lifts her spirit. If she has to fight nightmare, pain and suffering so everybody can live peacefully, free from sorrows and violence... She wiil do her best.
"So, what do you choose?"
"I choose eternal happiness."
**✿❀⏤⏤⏤⏤⏤⏤⏤⏤⏤⏤❀✿**
Kai goes through the traning course, punching, kicking dummies and shooting them with fireballs. However, the last strike misses. He turns off the mechanism with a tired sigh.
"How's it going?" Yumi suddenly appears behind his back.
"AAAAH!" Kai screams and almost jumps away. "Ugh... You can't sneak and scare people like that!"
"Sorry." She smiles calmly. "So, how's your training?"
Kai looks at dummies and shrugs it off. "Eh, as usual..."
"But you look tired," Yumi notices.
"Maybe I've lost my fit a bit, but that's okay, I can deal with it." Girl stares at Kai, so intently that he starts to worry about it. "Um, what? Is something wrong with my hair?"
"No, I just think I can help you," she smiles again.
"You?" Kai raises his eyebrow in confusion. "I thought you didn't like combat training."
"Oh, I don't need to fight you. I've learnt a new technique to strengthen you," Yumi stretches out her hand. "Do you want to give it a try?"
"Hm... Sure, why not!" Kai gets kind of interested in her progress, so he gives a hand.
Yumi closes her eyes, and Kai feels how the energy fills his body. Weariness leaves him, he feels completely fresh and renewed. The Red Ninja makes a hit in the air and release a burst of fire, the strongest he's ever seen.
"Wow! What a feeling!" he laughs and destroys the annoying dummy on his way. "I've never felt so energetic!"
"Hey, can you be quiet?! I'm trying to-" Jay, who came out to complain, breaks off in mid-sentence, amazed. "Woah, that's so cool! How are you doing that?"
Yumi turns to him with the same calm smile.
"Do you want to try this technique of mine too?"
**✿❀⏤⏤⏤⏤⏤⏤⏤⏤⏤⏤❀✿**
As Cole closes the fridge door and turns back, he almost drops his portion of snacks out of surprise.
"Hi, Cole," Yumi doesn't even move, smiling calmly.
"Oof, Yumi... How have you got here so quietly?"
"I've learnt some stealth recently."
"That's... That's good to hear," Cole smiles, however, he feels something weird. "Hey, I can't help but notice that you look better... I mean, you finally seem chill again as you were, well, before all the events."
Yumi remains silent and staring.
"... I'm sorry, did it sound bad?" Cole can't even read her expression. "I mean, I'm glad you're fine now. Not stressed or something like that."
"Thank you," Yumi replies. "I'm happy to hear it."
"Cool... Cool."
Cole grabs a snack and eats it, but doesn't get satisfaction.
"Something's wrong?" girl immediately asks.
"Eh, it's just not the same..." Cole sighs with frustration. "It's a hard time for Chen's Noodle House so their food is... So tasteless. Skylor promised to fix that, but for now I have to deal with-"
"Let me help you," Yumi interrupts and stretches out her hand closer to Cole's face. "My new ability will help you to feel the whole spectrum of tastes and even more."
"Uh, what? When have you learnt this trick?" Cole slightly moves away from her hand.
"That doesn't matter, friend. Kai and Jay have already tested it... And they're happy. Don't be afraid, let me help you."
"Okay... But only this time."
**✿❀⏤⏤⏤⏤⏤⏤⏤⏤⏤⏤❀✿**
"Hey, Yumi, have you called me?" Lloyd enters the room and sees Yumi who leans on a sofa back. She looks at him with relaxed smile.
"I want to talk with you," she replies and makes a gesture to come closer. Lloyd makes a few steps and then notices Kai, Jay and Cole sleeping on the sofa.
"Huh... That's strange of them to sleep in the middle of the day," the Green Ninja notes.
"They've got tired of training so they're taking a nap now," Yumi slightly pats Cole's head. "Look, you know I had hard times... Everything was a mess..."
Lloyd looks carefully at Yumi as she talks. Something disturbs him, something surreal in details of her appearance. She let her hair down, though she always ties it up in two buns. There's no sign of bags under eyes, but it's too early for them to completely disappear. Her movements are very slow, and her eyes don't look at Lloyd... Yumi looks through him, right into his soul.
"But a miracle happened... I saw him."
"Who?.." Lloyd asks in confusion.
"Sensei Garmadon. Our mentor. Your father."
Yumi smiles, and an uncanny feeling strikes Lloyd.
"W-what?.. You must be joking, this is nonsense..." he mumbles.
"This is real, Lloyd!" Yumi sounds excited. "I meet your father in my dreams! My element has finally started to help me! And this way... Garmadon taught me how to control dreams!"
Lloyd sees a tone of craziness in her look.
"Look at our friends, Lloyd! They're happy thanks to Dream! Isn't it wonderful? These new abilities are amazing!"
Lloyd takes a step away, scared of Yumi.
"But you put them to sleep... How long have they been sleeping?!"
"An hour... Or two... Or five..." Yumi counts, getting closer to Lloyd. "But does it matter? They're happy! They're in the best world of all where all their dreams come true! And you can join them, you can finally see your father and never lose him again..."
"Yumi, that's not the way! You're crazy, come to your senses!"
"Oh, Lloyd..."
Yumi smiles and reaches for him. Lloyd tries to get away, but the Dream Master grabs his head and blinds him with her glowing pink eyes.
"I will help you reach the eternal happiness."

The Titanium Dragon flies above Ninjago City. Zane returns home from a mission. Looking down, he notices that city is... Dormant. The streets are covered in pink mist, and people are asleep on sidewalks, in cars, in their offices. Fortunately, there's no sight of car accidents.
"Pixal, can you analyze this fog?"
"I can't find any information in the database. But, I have to say, it seems to have the same structure as Yumi's elemental power. If I were you, I would hurry."
The dragon speeds up, and Zane gets home in a few minutes. Now it's clear for him that the source of fog is here. He walks through the rooms past the sleeping Nya, Master Wu, Misako... Everybody is asleep. Zane moves crosscurrent and finally reaches the source — Yumi. She floats in the lotus position, surrounded by sleeping ninja. As she pats Lloyd's head, her hand absorbs green sparkles of energy.
"You returned..." Yumi speaks slowly.
The Dream Master straightens her legs and floats closer. Zane gets an opportunity to look at her carefully, and her new appearance scares him. Yumi is wearing a dark-pink kimono with flower patterns, its sleeves and skirt slightly flatter. Yumi's hair float like in the water, and antlers made of cherry branches bloom on her head, filling the room with petals.
"What have you done?.." Zane asks quietly in disbelief. How have everything got out of hand so quickly?
"I... Sent them to a better world." Yumi smiles and looks right through Zane's heart with her eyes closed.
"You put them to sleep."
"The Dream Realm is the best home for these tired souls. It's always been."
"But they can't sleep forever. Yhey must wake up!" Zane insists, but Yumi just shrugs.
"You don't understand. You must join them and see. I will be your guide, Zane, you deserve joining the world of satisfaction..."
She reaches out to touch, but nindroid keeps the distance.
"I'm sorry to say it, but it's the wrong way, Yumi. Running from reality isn't a solution."
"The real world is cruel, violent and sorrowful. The Dream Realm gives them eternal happiness. There's nothing wrong, it's the only way to save Ninjago..."
"No!" Zane interrupts. "You can't choose for others. All you give them is the illusion of happiness, when they can experience real feelings in reality."
Yumi remains silent for a moment.
"You're being stubborn... You're afraid. If you can't believe me..." The Dream Master opens her eyes that turned pink. "Then I will show you the truth."
Yumi dashes to Zane and grabs him by shoulders. He struggles to free himself but fails. The Dream Master looks straight into his eyes.
"You're a nindroid, of course you think differently. But that's not a problem... You see dreams too. You're just like humans... And you deserve the eternal happiness too."

The day the Rise boys met 12 Splinter:
It had been an accident when it'd happened. Rise Donnie and 12 Donnie had tried to test out a device to getting the Rise gang back home to their universe. Due to Kraang technology being so tricky it was a 50/50 chance that it would work or that it would blow up in everyone's faces.
It'd ended up being the latter.
Rise Donnie could still the panicked shouts of his older counterpart, the yells of his name and his brothers names from his papa, Rise April, Rise Cassandra, 12 April and 12 Casey. Could hear the startled shouts of 12 Raph and 12 Mikey and 12 Leo before he'd been thrown onto the ground, his brothers close behind him. The sounds of four bodies hitting the floor followed by several yelps and oofs filled the new space they were in. Rise Donnie rubbed his head, catching sight of his twin Rise Leo who had seemed to freeze on his spot on the floor. Rise Raph and Rise Mikey also seemed to do the same thing as their blue clad brother, prompting Rise Donnie to look up from the ground to see what had his brothers in such a state. What he saw made him freeze immediately.
Standing in front of them, staring holes into their frames was none other than their older counterparts. But something was different. Unlike their older alternate selves these ones seemed.......younger. Like Rise Donnie's age, maybe a year younger than him. The scars, both new and old were nowhere in sight, save for those that were small knicks from training sessions and smaller missions. But the thing that really blew them away was what they heard next. 12 Raph was glaring at them with distrust, the anger that he had more control over in the future not quite there anymore. 12 Donnie's gaze was staring wide eyed, stars seeming to shine in his gaze and 12 Mikey was hanging off of the purple genius, his gaze full of curiosity and amazement. 12 Leo meanwhile seemed dumbfounded, his eyes wide before he spoke up:
"Who are you?!? Where did you come from???"
The Rise boys had to hold in their startled reactions to hearing the blue leader. Instead of the grovelling, rasping voice that cracked every so often, was a voice that was smooth and that spoke with ease. It was childish and expressive and pleasant sounding. Rise Donnie felt his gut sink as he realized what happened. But before he or any of his brothers could answer 12 Leo, another voice, one much more stern and authoritative spoke up into the room:
"What is going on here?!?"
Rise Donnie, Rise Leo, Rise Raph and Rise Mikey felt the air be knocked out of their lungs as their eyes landed on the figure that they'd only seen a few times on a shrine in the Hamato clan's dojo. A rat in a maroon rob had entered the room, his dark brown eyes hardened and searching for what had caused his sons to make such a commotion. That gaze landed on the Rise boys, his eyebrows raising in shock.
Standing before them, was a man that the younger turtles had only heard about from their older counterparts. A man who had been murdered in cold blood and who had left behind a grieving family unintentionally.
It was 12 Splinter.
Alive and in the flesh.
The older rat sensei seemed to recover faster than the Rise boys, his gaze turning towards his own sons in a searching way before he demanded an explanation as to what was going on. The 12 boys were quick to explain, making their own confusion and unease about this turn of events known to the head of their family. All while the Rise boys could only watch it in baffled, disbelieving shock. It was so much to process, to process their older counterparts who weren't quite burdened by their traumas and responsibilities just yet, to process their father's own counterpart now being alive and breathing in front of them. As if sensing their shock the 12 Hamato clan seemed to quiet down, before 12 Splinter quietly made his way towards them, extending his hand to Rise Donnie who was closer to him. With a soft tone the rat spoke to them:
"It appears that we're not the only ones who are lost. I do not know where you all had come from, but consider our home your home until you can return to where you'd come from."
At that moment Rise Leo who had been watching the interaction between his twin and two other brothers thought back to his older counterpart, who much like 12 Splinter had offered their home to the Rise Hamato clan until they could go home. He can see Rise Mikey swallow beside him while Rise Raph looked absolutely wrecked in the emotional department, and could see Rise Donnie seeming to stiffen before he awkwardly took the extended hand and he was pulled up. The 12 boys followed their sensei's example helping the others off the ground. After that it was a strange and unsettling experience for the Rise boys. For the next few days they sat quietly in the background, too spooked to really interact with their fellow teenage counterparts and their father. Only interacting when they needed to, afraid that if they'd gotten too attached to the younger, happier family that they could ruin their counterparts timeline back home. They had moments, when the darkness of night had surrounded them where they'd quietly discuss the possibilities of telling the 12 Hamato clan of their fates. Of trying to warn them of the horrors that they'd face in the short coming years. Of trying to save 12 Splinter's life. But once they thought about saying something they thought about the 12 Hamato clan back in the future. They thought of 12 Raph and his gruff yet caring demeanor, of 12 Donnie and his kindness and intelligence. Of 12 Mikey's mischievous yet loving way, of 12 Leo's soft and soothing presence. Of 12 April's kind and fiery personality and of 12 Casey's relaxed yet somewhat brutish ways. They thought about them and thought about the repercussions of possibly changing the past. Of possibly making those people who they'd grown to care about disappear due to their timeline no longer existing, of losing their new family members. And it made the Rise boys cringe inwards, refusing to lose their friends, their family over trying to spare them when it could possibly make things worse for them.
It didn't help that it was during this time that they got to see 12 Splinter interacting with his boys. The Rise boys were quick to learn that 12 Splinter while kind and understanding was also very stern. He held his boys in high regards and pushed them to strive to be better than they were. The rat was their biggest supporter whenever they completed their goals in their training, only pushing them when they were sure of what they wanted. The Rise boys also learned that 12 Splinter was surprisingly mischievous, often times telling his boys things that left them scratching their heads in confusion. The rat was also incredibly loving in his own way. While unlike the Rise boys own father who was physical with his affections, 12 Splinter was much more subtle in it. Doing little things to show that he cared, patting his sons shells whenever they were distressed or holding them whenever they asked for it. It also became clear that 12 Leo, 12 Raph, 12 Donnie and 12 Mikey were extremely close to 12 Splinter, the Rise boys catching many moments of their counterparts being near their father and sensei. And it was clear that 12 Splinter cherished and loved every single moment he spent with his sons, his eyes always having a loving, proud shine to them whenever the fifteen year olds would come to him to show him something or tell him something.
It just made it much more cruel to see their friends and their father, being happy and loved. Completely oblivious to the tragedies that laid ahead for them. And they knew that their counterparts and their sensei knew that something was up with the Rise boys. They were constantly obversing the group of alternate turtles, trying to talk to them more to see if they could figure out what had them so spooked and distraught. However they were unsuccessful in their attempts and it finally came to the time where they could go home. The 12 boys of course hugged their Rise counterparts, voicing their disappointment that they couldn't get to know them better. 12 Splinter on the other hand came up to them, and to their surprise pulled them into a gentle, fatherly embrace. When Rise Raph, Rise Leo, Rise Donnie and Rise Mikey were close to 12 Splinter, it was only then that he'd spoken to them, his voice soft and barely heard:
"Thank you, for keeping my sons safe."
Before he pulled away from them, leaving the Rise boys dumbfounded and stunned as it clicked that despite their best efforts to keep their distance, that despite their best efforts to keep what they've known away from the 12 family, that somehow 12 Splinter had figured out that something had happened. It appeared that the Rise boys weren't the only ones watching, and before they could say anything they were once again finding themselves being somewhat taken and ended up again on the ground. Only this time instead of their counterparts from the past, surrounding them was the ones they'd known first, all of them panicked and asking if the Rise boys were alright. All the younger turtles could do was nod and before the older turtles could even process what was happening they were suddenly dragged into the pile of turtles. Trapped in the tight embraces of Rise Raph, Rise Leo, Rise Donnie and Rise Mikey. 12 Leo, 12 Raph, 12 Donnie and 12 Mikey all exchange startled looks at one another as they hugged the younger ones back, before they were suddenly filled with memories from a past time. A past time that had just been made new.
No one spoke much afterwards.

𝕚 𝕥𝕙𝕚𝕟𝕜 𝕪𝕠𝕦'𝕣𝕖 𝕣𝕖𝕒𝕝𝕝𝕪 𝕔𝕠𝕠𝕝 | 004.
haikyuu x m!reader
masterlist
"i'm moving.." it was blunt. emotionless. nothing like hinata had expected this conversation to go.
not that he was even expecting this conversation at all..
"what?!" the said ginger haired boy jumped from his seated position beside [name], shocked. they had been watching another professional match when he brought the worry up. "where? when? why?!"
[name] sighed. his eyes were downcast, the usual light in them completely gone as he blankly stared at the screen. they had been like that a lot recently. ever since his third year started hinata noticed the way he begun to sink into himself again. he was a lot like hinata first remembered him. cold, quiet and secluded.
the second year boy tried to cheer him up as much as possible. [name] wasn't exactly open with his feelings after all so hinata mainly had to guess, although he found that it was quite easy to read the h/c haired boy as they grew up. but it was hard when he didn't know what was causing him problems. he didn't attend the same school, he wasn't able to tell if [name] was having trouble there..
[name] didn't answer for moment, a little slow; "osaka.."
osaka was quite far away. too far away. hinata's face soured at that.
"will i see you again..?" that was the most important question to him. he needed his best friend.
"yes" [name]'s head shot up, surprised at the sudden sadness in hinata's voice. he answered immediately without hesitation. "of course! we'll play each other at nationals! i'll win, but i'll be able to watch you play for real!"
hinata couldn't help the snort he let out. they always had a way to lighten the mood. "i'll win! just you wait, [name]-kun!"
"mhm, sure" [name] hummed lightly, obviously teasing him. he wasn't as happy as he once had been but hinata's presence surely brought out a more playful side to him.
"geh! you don't believe me! i'll show you!" hinata pounced on him, tackling him to the floor. they both rolled around, bumping into his bed and desk as they did so, laughing loudly as they jokingly argued.
"you lose every time we play anything, shoyo" [name] chuckled, pinching his side in retaliation, rolling on top of him. he laid his entire weight upon the poor boy, squishing him to the floor. hinata let out a loud 'oof' as he plopped on top of him, squirming to pull himself away.
"[nameeeee]" he whined, hand shoving against his cheek, trying to push him away.
"shoyoooo" [name] mimicked, voice coming out slightly muffled due to hinata's hand. "you started this"
"you didn't believe me!"
"and i still don't" [name] huffed, finally rolling off him, laying on his back beside him. "you just lost again" the jab was one that hinata usually reacted to but this time he only remained silent.
the pair lay side by side, both lost in their thoughts, the only sounds in the room being their slowing breaths.
[name] frowned again, he'd still have to tell his team. but for now, he was content laying by hinata. his best friend provided some sort of comfort no one else could..
he found that it was easier to reveal something like that to a team full of strangers than it would have been had his senpai been there. it was this moment that he was glad they weren't in the same year.
"sensei" [name] stepped over to the coach, picking idly at the skin around his fingernails as he waited for the old man's attention. "i won't be here to play the next tournament.. i'm moving to osaka"
"are you kidding? we don't have another libero!" washijou looked scorned, shocked. it was nice to know they needed him but [name] frowned, knowing they didn't need him for his talent, only desperate because he was their only choice.
"i can train fujihara-kun to play libero for the games but i won't be playing anymore" [name] stood tall in his position, something that reminded washijou of tendou. the coach huffed, crossing his arms, realising that they had no other choice.
"very well" he nodded, reluctantly approving of the plan. he then yelled out, calling out the first year. "fujihara! over here!"
shocked and entirely nervous the second year boy, fujihara kento bounced over. [name] scowled at the way the red haired boy towered over him. stupid tall people. "you'll be playing as starting libero! [name] will train you until the tournament! learn something from him, got it?!"
fujihara in all his shaking nervousness saluted washijou before turning to [name], unsure of what to do.
to be honest [name] didn't really have any idea of what to do himself, he had never trained someone before. they stared at each other awkwardly for a moment before he sighed, waving a hand to show fujihara to follow him.
guess he'd just have to rely on how he remembered hiroto and semi teaching him.
they started with the basics, receiving positions and diving drills. it was something they did often, after all, shiratorizawa only needed those with the capabilities to adapt. that was where their strength lied. honing in on one skill was no use to a team of all-rounders.
that's probably what washijou had first found interesting in [name]. he wasn't quite an all-rounder but his ability as libero and possibly a backup setter were more than enough to earn him his spot on the team. unlike his negative thinking, washijou had more faith in him than he liked to admit.
[name] had been a pillar in the shiratorizawa success. it was hard to find a libero quite so good, so reliable. shiratorizawa wasn't know for their impenetrable defence, the source of their strength lied in their spiking and blocking. the coach had to, albeit reluctantly, admit that he didn't think he'd ever make such a powerful team again now that [name] was leaving. they would lose their staple.
all eyes were on the sole third year of the team as he gently corrected fujihara's movements, attempting to teach him a libero toss. he radiated warmth despite his tendency to be cold. perhaps it was a shiratorizawa thing to be a little emotionless, but he was their ever admirable libero. he would never know just how much the team really looked up to him.
"senpai" fujihara flopped on the floor freely as washijou had his back turned, now focusing on yelling at the poor spikers. "how do you do this? you make it look so easy during games" he whined, practically melting into the floor.
[name] offered him a small smile, crouching beside him, spinning the ball on one finger. "i've had a lot more experience than you, fujihara-kun" he shrugged lamely, earning a raised eyebrow and judging expression from the second year.
"i don't know" he threw his hands up, leaning back so that he landed on his butt. he held the ball still now, thinking of a better answer.
"you always know what to do" kento sighed, "you're just so sure of your plays and where to dive. i can't do that, nobody else on the team can do that. we all hesitate before moving. you just know where the ball is going to be"
he didn't speak up for a moment, stunned at the revelation of the team's view of him. how did he do it?
"i don't always know where the ball is going to be" he bitterly spoke, reminded of a certain brunette setter. he was the only one to outplay him, the only one who made him ever hesitate. "but it's easy to guess when you watch the other team's setups. volleyball is a sport where you have to be constantly watching. and once you know where to look it becomes second nature"
"so you.. guess?" kento sat up now, staring intensely at him. he obviously missed the point of his little speech but [name] didn't mind. he let out a small chuckle, pulling at the second year's heart strings.
"sure" he shrugged, "its more of an educated guess but i suppose it's still a guess. don't worry, fujihara-kun, you'll learn to do it too someday."
[name] stood now, shifting the volleyball to his left hand, reaching his other one down to pull the red haired boy off the floor, "for now, let's stick to the basics, okay?"
kento nodded, barely getting over [name]'s laugh. he had never seen him show such emotion before and he wanted to see it more often even if they only had a couple weeks together. he vowed to make the most of those weeks, he was going to make his senpai proud, become a libero he could be thrilled to call his kouhai.
tendou frowned at his phone, noticing the lack of messages from their favourite kouhai libero. he huffed loudly, head lolling backwards in frustration. semi rolled his eyes from beside him, he was being dramatic.
"satori" semi didn't even look up from his homework as he wrote, already scolding him. "[name]'s a third year now and their final tournament is next week, he's probably busy"
"yeah, but he's never busy enough to ignore us!" tendou threw his hands up, annoyed.
"well have you tried, i don't know, maybe messaging him?" semi finally glanced up now, raising an eyebrow at the red haired first year.
"no.." tendou crossed his arms, turning his head away. "but he always messages first!"
"just message him" they both jumped at a new voice, eyes trailing to ohira and ushijima. ohira gave them a judging look. "what? he's not going to ignore you if you message him. you need to reach out first"
"fine!" tendou finally agreed, reaching for his phone and immediately hitting send on a pre-written paragraph. semi raised both eyebrows now, eyes boring into tendou's head. the said boy turned away, ignoring the looks he received.
eventually they all went back to their own things, sitting in silence in the common room of the shiratorizawa dorms. inevitably, it wasn't long before tendou spoke up again. he lasted about 2 minutes to be precise.
"he's not answering.."
they all groaned loudly.
meanwhile, [name] sat in his room, staring at the amount of cardboard boxes piling up by his bedroom door. he had one final box open in front of him, holding his various medals and volleyball possessions. he kneeled beside it, staring sadly at the photo in his hands.
it was one he cherished the most, the photo his parents had taken after their win last year. he looked nothing like he usually did but neither did his teammates. they were all posing with their medals, standing together in two lines. tendou had his forearms on [name]'s own shoulders, leaning over his kneeling form from the line behind, both hands holding peace signs.
despite tendou's pose, [name]'s face held nothing but happiness, a bright grin spread over his lips as he held his medal up with one hand, the other holding a peace sign. he could tell his eyes were slightly red, evident that he had been crying some time before the photo.
semi stood beside tendou, ushijima on the red haired boy's other side with reon kneeling beside [name]. semi held his medal in one hand, pose having been matching most of the team if it hadn't been for his other hand reaching for tendou's head. however, his usual scowl was replaced with an amused smile, obviously teasing. reon held his medal with both hands, head tilted to smile at [name] and tendou's interaction.
ushijima had a small smile on his own face, a rare sight for the ace as he too held his medal, completely ignoring the chaos beside him as his other hand showed off their award. the rest of the team proudly brandished their own medals, most of them, similar to ushijima, ignoring the fight about to ensure in the middle of the group in favour of celebrating their achievements.
his phone buzzed behind him on his plain bed, stripped of all personality. he paused, finally placed the picture in the box, closing the lid and taping it up like the others. he took a moment to lift it to the pile.
he sighed, hands on his hips as he slowly spun around, staring at the empty room. he was going to miss this house, his friends, his neighbourhood.
before he even had a chance to fall into a small depressive train of thought his phone rung this time, jolting him out of it. he scrambled for the device in a daze, stopping his frantic movements when he realised who the caller was. tendou.
he stared at it blankly, before finally realising that he was going miss it.
"hello?" he answered, raising it to his ear, immediately regretting his choice when tendou screeched into his ear.
"why didn't you answer my message?!" he frowned, face scrunching up in confusion before making the connection that tendou's message had been the one that had buzzed about 3 minutes ago. he heard the brief shushing in the background, amused.
"senpai" he begun, deadpanning. "you sent that like 3 minutes ago"
"yes, and?" [name] couldn't help the smile that appeared on his face. he was really going to miss their antics.
goodbyes were always sad. maybe that's why [name] never mentioned anything to his beloved senpai. or maybe he had just hoped to ignore the reality for a bit longer in favour of talking to them about things he actually enjoyed. he did not enjoy moving at all, the feeling left a small hole in his heart.
he felt bad for not realising that he hadn't told them as he was seated in the car, already on the way to his new home. shit, were they going to be mad? he pulled his phone out, intent on calling them before noting that they were in practice right now. he frowned, opting to leave a message to them before leaning back against his seat to take a nap, hoping to pass the long drive quicker.
'hey, call me when you're out of practice'
when he did wake it was to his phone ringing. he blinked blearily, confused as he straightened up, back popping before he reached for his device, clicking the answer call button, raising it to his ear.
"[name]!!" tendou's voice greeted him and he pulled back, checking the caller id again. it was semi.
"hi satori-senpai" he sleepily answered, "is everyone there?"
"yup! even yamagata, you still haven't properly met him though.." tendou nodded despite neither seeing one another. "what's up?"
"put me on speaker" he waited for a moment before continuing once he had confirmation. "i forgot to mention it earlier.. i'm moving to osaka"
"what?! when?" tendou reacted first, voice the closest to the phone, obviously still holding it. the others followed suit, however their surprise was more contained than the middle blocker's.
"um, right now.." he prepared himself for the scolding. "i'm sorry, it really slipped my mind, we've all been so busy these past few weeks.."
it was silent for a moment, the group all soaking it in.
"you didn't say goodbye" ushijima pointed out, and [name] could hear the slightly disappointment in his voice despite his blunt response. "will you be playing volleyball at your new school?"
"i know, i'm sorry.. and yes, senpai, i'll be continuing volleyball. i'll still see you at nationals, and i'm planning to visit in the summer" [name] paused for a second, "if you want me to.."
"of course we do" ohira reassured. they knew [name] like the back of their hand.
"we better see you at nationals" semi teased lightly, trying to lift the mood. [name] was slightly worried at tendou's silence but the other's words made him feel at least a little better.
"who knows maybe i'll get to play against you" he suggested, a small grin playing on his lips.
he heard tendou's scoff, and despite the mocking intentions it brought relief. "i'd like to see you beat us, we'll win"
"you never know" [name] offered a teasing remark, beginning to calm now that he knew they weren't angry with him. they never knew, maybe he would win..
when [name] stepped into the tokyo metropolitan gym he didn't know what to expect. like many of his teammates this was his first national tournament.
they all beamed, full of what felt like endless energy as they glanced around at the multiple courts. they were surprised at the sheer size of the building, rows after rows of seating. the other teams hustled around them, many already familiar with their surroundings.
[name]'s gaze slowly shifted from the courts to the other teams, catching sight of the purple and white uniform, eyes locking with olive coloured eyes.
"oh shit.."

Signs of Love (F! HOH Reader x Toge Inumaki) VALENTINES SPECIAL
Tumblr media
Fem HOH reader! x Toge
words in italic bold are signed!
Authors note: I personally am not not Hard Of Hearing, but I tried my best to write as realistically I can and I talked to an expert about how I can best go about writing this. But! she is an expert in ASL not JSL and all the signs I described were learned from youtube videos and google. I really hope that I described the actions in a way thats understandable to others since I never described a person signing before

Happy Valentines!
Also im prob gonna write a prequel at some point bc i lowkey went off script and made a paragraph a lot more detailed (and darker) than I wanted to for this upbeat fic, so if you enjoy this be on the lookout!
Tumblr media
(translation bank I used lol) You wouldn’t think a large anthromorphic panda would be so hard to find. But, alas i’ve spent the last twenty minutes playing a very one sided game of tag  and i’ve really had enough. “MAKI!” I call out to the green-ete, sparring on the field.
“Yeah?” she replies, looking my way.
Yuuta, took that as his chance to try to land a hit, but Maki, as if she read his mind quickly swept him out from under his feet and he landed in a cloud of dust and a resounding ‘oof!’
“Sorry to catch you at a bad time.” I apologize as I make it  across the field to her. She shakes her head, “Nah, we’re finished.” she states as she dug her shoe into his chest. “Right?” Yuuta nods and taps out. I reach my hand out to pull him up. “You good?” He nods, finding balance again now that he’s upright. “I-” he wheezes, grasping his knees as he catches his breath. “I will be.” I clasp my hands together. “Well, im glad I caught you both, since I know you guys wouldn’t lie to me.” Maki raises an eyebrow. “Didn’t Yuuta lie about eating your leftover takeout the other day?” Yuuta pauses, before he nod’s guiltily . “But You can’t be upset with me! I bought you fresh takeout to make up for it and ice cream.”
“Exactly!” I agree. “But the thing is, Maki wouldn’t lie to me, cuz she doesn’t  care enough to lie and would rather tell me straight up. You,” I point to him. “You can’t lie to me. It’s way too obvious, and besides it eats you up inside.”
He scratches the back of his neck. “Well, I guess you got me there. But what did you want to ask?”
I sigh. “Why has Toge been ignoring me? Originally he was just flaking on his lessons, but now he seems to be actively avoiding me. Hell, even Panda is running away from me now. I try not to run away from my problems, but now they are actively running away from me, so...” I throw my hands in frustration. “Any ideas?”
“Oh he’s definitely  ignoring you.” Maki confirms. “He basically tucked and rolled out of breakfast today when you walked in.”
“I KNEW I SAW HIM!” I exclaim. “Panda just said I was seeing things, then dipped when I started asking questions.” I side eye a panicked looking Yuuta. “Like you are trying to do now.” He gulps.
“I-im not, i just think Gojo-sensei is calling for me!”
I roll my eyes. “Just go.”
He awkwardly nods before he books it down the training field, cronching half dried snow leaving just Maki and I to grace the field.
“You know no one was actually calling for him, right?”  Maki checks. I sigh. “Just like we all know Gojo’s currently on a mission.” I run my hands through my hair. “I’m too tired to press Yuuta on the details of whatever he’s hiding.”
“Emotionally or physically?”
“Both.”
I plop down on the stairs and groan. “I don’t even know what I did!” “I doubt you did anything.” she replies as she settles next to me. “Boys are dumb. That’s not anything new.” I flutter my lips. “Yeah, I know. I just thought he was special.”
Maki awkwardly pats my back. Shes never been quite good with affection in any way, but its good to see shes growing. “There, there.”
I chuckle. “That was hard for you, wasn’t it.”
“A little bit, yeah.” We share a laugh.
“Look, Y/n. Whatevers going on with Inumaki will blow over soon. You’re acting as if you guys aren’t attached to the hip 24/7.  ‘looking like middle schoolers scribbling in that stupid notebook.” she kicks a stray pebble with her foot. “ Where is it  anyway?” she asks. Shes referring to the Lisa Frank notebook we pass back and forth. It was originally for JSL notes, but then it kinda devolved into a book of memes, random notes and crude drawings of Gojo whenever we found him especially annoying. Maki and Panda have both voiced their disdain for it, but for very different reasons. Maki finds the cute and bright colors obnoxious while Panda finds the cartoon panda riding a surfboard offensive, for some odd reason, since ‘pandas don’t ride waves’. To my knowledge they don’t make bad jokes or fight curses either, but here we are. I sigh. “It’s in my room. The last time it was used he scribbled some sorry excuse why he can’t come to our JSL lesson. Maki’s eyebrows furrowed. “Wasn’t your last lesson like a week ago?” i nod. “ A week tomorrow.” She says something under her breath, too fast for me to read. I sigh. “Maki,  you know I can’t hear people when they whisper like that.”
She shrugs me off. “It wasn’t anything important. Just saying that Inumaki is dumb. Screw him. Anyways, are you still having your lesson with him tommorrow?”
“Thats the plan. If he even shows up.” I mutter the last part under my breath.
Maki’s eyes gain a glint, one im all too familiar with. “So what do you plan on doing with him? All alone? In your room?” She breaks down every part slowly.
“Uh, study? Probably eat snacks and look at shitty memes. What we usually do.  Why?”
She shrugs. “No reason. I was just wondering if you were gonna give him his homemade chocolates then in the confines of your room or when you are giving the others their store bought chocolate.”
I furrow my brows. “What are you talking about? Tomorows not..” my voice dies out as I check the date on my phone.
Feburary 13th.
The day before Valentines Day.
SHIT
“Shit, shit SHIT!” I cry, grabbing my things. “I need to finish making the choclate!”
Makki yells something in a retort but the only thing on my mind is the half finished chocolate bento in my room waiting to be filled with white chocolate onigiri and gummy takoyaki.
Toge was my first friend at the school. I was the new kid, the last of the five of us. I felt like every bond that could be made was already made between them and that there was no room for me. I mean I felt like that everywhere I went regardless, but when you are surrounded by powerful sorcerers and a freaking panda there’s not much a person can do to feel special. I didn’t come from a powerful bloodline or anything, I was just a girl with a cursed technique, and hell that doesn’t mean much when Maki can kick ass without one. I don’t think I spoke more than three words the first few weeks I was there, which threw  off everyone, especially since Toge tended to speak leaps and bounds over me and his vocab was limited to rice ball ingredients. It also didn’t help that I  kept to myself, despite Gojo’s constant encouragement ( and by that I mean nagging) to ‘be social, makes some friends, kiddo!’ The others all tried tried to be friendly in some way or another but Toge was the only one who was consistent despite me keeping him at arms length. He approached me when I was taking a hearing break, a time when the others wouldn’t attempt to bother me and usually gave me space. I was ready to brush him off when he did something unexpected. Using his left hand he made a turning motion against his left, then pointed at me before making a circling motion using both hands, then moving his right pointer finger to his cheek.
How are you doing today?
The motions were a bit awkward, but fluent enough to see that he practiced the motions a few times. He was signing. I immediately lit up and starting waving my hands in ways that probably didn’t even make up any coherent signs, based on the look of confusion in his eyes. I learned then that Toge only learned how to sign ‘how are you doing today’ five minutes prior when he saw me turn down my aides because he wanted to be able to communicate with me in a way I was comfortable with.
I can’t pinpoint it exactly, but i’m pretty sure that was the moment I fell in love with him.
Or at least knew that he was gonna be someone important in my life, but hey. I’m a jujitsu sorcer. What are we if not a tad dramatic sometimes. Have you met our teacher?
It was then that I soon found out how similar Toge and I are. Our cursed technique both involved our voices (he’s able to command others to do whatever he says, and I’m able to use a sonic scream to exorcise curses),and they both have the same drawback of having an extremely sore throat after using those techniques.
But the biggest challenge we share is how our cursed techniques have  both impacted our ability to communicate traditionally. Mine took that privilege away when I was just a little girl, unaware of the ability nestled within me. His, was sealed away at birth, only to be used in dire time of need. We also both had adapted and grown despite these challenges. He can talk to othes using rice ball ingredients and I use a hearing aide to make up for the percentage of what I lost using my technique wildly.  Most importantly we both are here to train to become powerful enough to make sure our techniques can never hurt ourselves and others. So maybe one day we could see them as gifts and not a curse. That realization is what pushed us to learn sign language fluently, something I was close to and he was definitely not. We wanted to make sure we could be most efficient in the field since rice ball ingredients can inky mean so many things and my aides can only help so much. Some days are going to be worse than others and we wanted to be prepared for that.
We also thought talking shit about people in front of them would be funny too, but mainly the first reason.
So every Tuesday afternoon since has been a designated JSL day, spent looking over notes and books we got from the library or my own personal collection. I’d say we have improved drastically since, despite how easly distracted we can both be. Especially Toge, he went from being a total beginner in JSL to being able to hold a converstatiion with little trouble. I couldn’t  be more proud of him.
Well I technically could be.
I would be a lot more proud if he was actually here.
And hadnt blown me off.
Again.
ON VALENTINES DAY.
Y’know I would be less upset iif he left or note or something. But no. And he was suspiciously absent earlier this morning in class when I handed Panda and Yuuta their chocolates. Instead of getting complaints or teasing from them about how I decided to buy theirs compared to me spending hours making Toges, I got sympathetic looks instead.
No one directly said anything, but we all knew what they were thinking.
Poor Y/n.
I passed the point of me just moping around feeling sorry for myself. Theres only so much hiding away under the covers in self pity a person can do without going a little stir crazy.
So now?
Now i’m just pissed.
I was about to grab the nearest throw pillow to scream about how boys are stupid and how imma wring his platinum blonde ass, hoping I wouldn’t accidently overload it with cursed energy and tear apart my room (again) when i hear a shlick from under my door.
Slowly creeping towards the door I see that something was slid under the door.
A tiny, pocket notebook.
A tiny Lisa Frank notebook.
What the hell?
I flip the tiny notebook open to read;
Meet me at our spot? :)
Written in a glitter pen. My glitter pen he most likely stole. I scoff, rolling my eyes. Yeah, no. You don’t get to be all cute and shit after ghosting me.  But then I move my thumb to find;
Please? I’ll explain everything :) :) :)
Damn. An excessive use of smiley faces. He must be desprate. I groan to myself. I was never gonna win that anyway. Toge has be under his thumb and I bet he knows it at this point.
I slide on my coat and shoes and head out the door.
Toge’s and I’s ‘spot’ was an abandoned gazebo on the other side of the school. We found it one day after running away from the consequences of our actions, or his actions to be exact. I’m not one for pranks, especially when it includes angering a giant panda. I don’t know why Toge thought it was a good idea to put itching powder in Pandas hairbrush (I didn’t know that Panda  used a hairbrush either, but thats for another time), he’s seen him mad enough to  rip a tree in two with just his hands (paws?). Whatever the case, Toge ripped me away  from a peaceful convo with Yuuta with a hurried “Tuna!” and a grab (yank) of my hand. I was going to resist but I knew the thumping vibrations of a pissed off Panda when I feel them so and took that as a sign to run as fast as my feet could take me and chew out Toge later. My feet just so happened to take me
Here.
I carefully step down the beaten path. The dead and dried leafage I pushed past  almost crumbled upon impact, a stark contrast to the fight they put up in the summer, scratching and ticking to our uniforms like we first found what would be our secret spot and hideaway from all the others and sometimes, the world itself.
As I  snake down the path, avoiding larger sticks and pots of mud I see flickers of light leading me, calling me, to the gazebo
Stars? No, too bright.
Candles.
And by the looks of it, lots of them.
What is going on?
As I finally venture past the leafage my suspicions were confirmed. In front of me stood a beautiful ring of candles supported by a path leading me up the cricket old stairs into the heart of the gazebo that stood
Toge.
The candles highlighting his slightly tense body making him have an otherworldly glow, his hands grasping a bouquet of flowers.
“Toge? W-what the hell is all this?” I stammer, slowly making my way to him.
“Tuna.” he hands me the bouquet, well more like stiffly shoves into my hands
“For me?”  I ask as I awkwardly grasp the bouquet. He nods.
Then he takes a deep breath in before using his pointer finger and thumb to lightly grasp the bridge of his nose, then placing the same hand diagonally acoss his face, pushing away from him.
I’m sorry.
He tries to keep my gaze, but his eyes keep fluttering away.
Is he.. Is he blushing?
I’ve really been an idiot.
He signs, moving his hand while opening his pointer and middle finger apart from each other.
I was just so nervous that somehow you would find out about this surprise, that I avoided you.
He’s signing so flawlessly, has he been practcing without me
You mean so much to me, I really just wanted to do something big and special for you, because you deserve everything and more.
Is.. Is this a confession? My heart beat picks up faster and faster by the minute. Time feels so fast, yet impossibly slow as he signs once more.
He stalls for  a minute before moving his hans so fast that I could barely read them.  Moving his two fingers in a swirling motion then pulling them down, Toge then rubs his right hand over his fist, multiple times.
I love you.
I  love you.  I love you. I  love you.
You see, in JSL, like Japanese, there are many ways to say I love you. To show love between friends, you bring your middle finger and thumb of your dominant hand and bring it your chest, closing them upon impact, bringing that hand down,  then pointing at the person in question.
To confess to having feelings for another person, you point to yourself, before putting your pointer finger and thumb under your chin, then pointing to the person you are referring to.
But to show deep passionate love, you move your fingers in a swirling motion, pull them down before using that same hand to rub your fist.
Just what Toge was doing.
“You,” I start slowly. “You love me?” His cheeks lit up in flames.
“Bonito flakes!” My face falls for a split second before he shakes his head aggressively, “Salmon!”
I tilt my head in confusion. “What are you trying to say?
He grumbles, diving into his pocket to look at a crumpled piece of paper.  I squint my eyes to get a better look the paper, the candles could only illuminate so much, but from what I could see Toge made a photocopy from the back of my JSL book, specifically the signs of love.
We haven’t went over that part yet, when did he learn this?
The page showed the three different ways a person could announce their love, shoving the page back into his pocket he tries again, starting the motions to confess, but I already knew what he meant.
He was about to put his fingers to his chin before I tackled him in a hug, flowers long forgotten. “Tuna!” he yelps, caught off guard, before settling into my touch.
“I understand.” I clarify, slowly unzipping his collar, “And,” I add, holding his pale cheek staring into his beautiful amethyst eyes.
“I love you, too.” I whisper, closing the distance.
Extra:
His lips were a bit chapped, but soft nonetheless and were gentle, almost shy against mine. His hand was about to move off my shoulder and to my chin before he stopped and pulled away quickly, his relaxed body stiffening into a fighting stance.
“Wha-” I say, still dazed from the kiss.
“Show yourself.” he demands to a seemingly harmless bush, his words dripping cursed energy.
Four heads then pop out of the bush in sync.
“Panda, you idiot, you got us caught!” Maki
“Me? No way! It was totally Yuuta. He’sthe one cryling like a baby!” Panda
“What! I sniffled ONCE! How are you souless monsters not tearing up?” Yuuta
“He’s right, that was quite beautiful. My beautiful students! They grow up so fast! And Gojo?!
“What the hell are you guys doing here!” I interrogate the four. God, where they watching the whole time? They had to have been, with half of them sporting smug faces (Maki and Gojo) and the other half embarrassed and guilty . “Who did you think planned this?” Maki retorts. My jaw drops. “B-but you said-”
“I didn’t say shit, you just assummed.” she corrects. “But you were right, I don’t like to lie and rather be honest. But I can keep a secret.” she winks. “I’m just the only one who isnt glaringly obvious.” she side eyes he others who look away bashfully. Except for Gojo, who pipes in with “Oh, I just found out myself while they were planning and couldn’t miss missing this beautiful declaration of love.” he wipes a invisible tear for dramatic effect even though he’s wearing a blindfold.. Weirdo. Maki ignores his statement, or doesn’t give it any thought as she adds; “I’m not gonna lie, watching you two pine and whine for each other was painful though, glad you guys finally did something about it.”
“i-It wasn’t that bad!”
“Yes, it was.” they all reply in unison, even Gojo, which garners a few weird looks.
“Hey! I’ve had to watch them give each other doe eyes in class for months!” he shares. “Why do you think I always placed them together on missions?”
“Um- Cause we work well together?” I intervene.
He shrugs. “You both work well with everyone, I was just doing the lord’s work.”
That then caused the other three to bicker and complain about who helped progress ‘their ship’ the most.
“Fish flakes…” Toge muttered. “Yeah.” I agree. “I can’t believe we associate with them.” “Salmon.”
“Whatever!” Maki shouts over the bickering. “Now that the work is done, no matter who helped,” she eyes the other three “lets just discuss whats most important.”
I tilt my head in confusion.
“How much you suckers owe me! Pay up, losers!”
A series of groans follow as each of them all pull out their wallets (don’t ask me where Panda got his from, I don’t know. He once pulled out a box of tissues from his fur, I stopped asking questions about what he can and can’t do after that.) “Wait a damn minute!” I exclaim. “You were betting on us?!”
“Hey, you should be thankful! I was the only one who said you would kiss him first!” she reveals, grabbing 2000 yen from each of the guys.
“Gojo?! You too?!”
He shrugs. “Toge, you really let me down. That was my daifuku money.” he reveals sadly.”
“Bonito flakes!” he retorts, eyebrow twitching.
I shake my head. “That is so disrespectful guys.” I state. “Welp, now that thats out of the way, Maki you better give me half.”
“MUSTARD LEAF?!”

Mikey's Babysitting Service
Remember the "Raph gets cuddley when having a growth spurt" prompt? Remember you voted for the 03 turtles? I honestly have no timeline in mind, maybe tribunal or not.
Since meeting their older counterparts, Leon and his brothers found dealing with their problems a lot easier.
Leonardo was training them, well mostly Leo, in their training. Teaching them things that he had to learn from when he was younger.
Raphael was mostly helping them with their emotions, both surprising and not surprising. To the younger, it seems all Raph's they met were emotional…to his brothers he was defaulted to "angry".
Donatello was surprisingly the gentlest of the brothers, toning down their own Donatello and teaching them a few tricks. (Leo's Raph made a comment about him being similar to Todd.)
Michelangelo was one they'll hold near and dear, not because he's Mikey, but because he seems to understand them better than anyone. He was the one to let Donnie go batshit but let's him know about limits.
For himself he was introduced to his Superhero friends, encouraging him to continue his comic.
Mikey was ecstatic about having another big brother, one that didn't treat him like a baby and also gave him his brother's point of view.
But Leo had to be grateful for Big Mike's efforts to his Raph, the younger brothers knew he could be just as unhinged as them when he wanted but to see it happen so easily.
Raph isn't the type to cause mischief but Big Mike usually brings it out of him and sometimes talk to him.
This makes Big Mike the most trustworthy of his brothers, which led to Leo's current predicament.
Raph was going through a growth spurt, the nerve! Like 6'8 wasn't tall enough!
Well, Raphie gets spacy and cuddled when this happens, but his loving brothers have things to do so they can't enjoy his lovely cuddling.
Big Mike agreed to watch him, but unbeknownst to Raphie's brothers, he never made it to his destination.
"What do you mean Raph never made it!?"
========
It was dark and everything felt different.
Raph was aware he went through a portal but he was supposed to be with their uncle counterparts.
It smelled like they were close but they also smelled different, like anxiety and fear.
Something sharp scraped across his shell causing him to pause, "Alright dude! Prepared to get your shell kicked!"
Oh! Uncle Mike! He sounds a bit off, maybe he feels weird too?
"Wow! Hey!"
"MIKEY!"
Oh his other uncles were here, this seems like a good spot for a nap. Oh! Splinter is giving him scritches.
========
"Mikey, what did you do!?" Raph seems pissed but actually very scared for his little brother.
"I swear I did nothing! You saw him appear the same time I did! But can I say, I never knew turtles can pur."
The old rat approached the large figure holding onto his youngest son's waist, sure enough this turtle was purring.
There was no ill intent, and they seem quite young. Too young for the amount of scarring on their body.
Splinter scratched their head, smiling as the purring grew louder and they leaned into the touch.
Master Splinter watched as his son relaxed under the giant child and soon join in the gentle petting, "Aw, he's just a little guy."
"Mikey, I love you but there is nothing little about this guy." Donatello approached, looking at the mysterious giant turtle.
Raphael and Leonardo both kept their hands on their weapons but since Sensei wasn't frightened that meant they were okay for now.
Splinter stopped before turning towards a corner of the lair, "Whoever you are, reveal yourself!"
"Chill out Sensei, I'm just here to pick up baby Raph." Everyone turned to see Michaelangelo, but he was different than their youngest being cuddled.
This Mikey was bigger and obviously stronger, old scars become visible at his approach.
He stopped at the new turtle who seemed to accept with a higher pitch purr and immediately latched onto him faster than anyone could comprehend.
"Oof! Yes, Yes, Hi Raphie. Come on, time to go." Against anything the four younger turtles believe in, Big Mike hefted Raphie on his shoulder.
"How-!?" "Wow!" "Are we that strong!?" "Careful!"
Big Mike sat down with Raphie's head in his lap, "Alright bros, while I get my ride, how about I answer certain questions?"
"You called him Baby Raph, what with that?" Good ole Raph starting with the facts.
"Bros, the Multiverse is real! He's a different version of Raphael, he's currently fifteen years old and the oldest of his brothers. My Raph has adopted them and I have never seen him go this soft."
Raph didn't seem to believe him but Big Mike pulled out his phone for them to see a picture.
It was when Raphie first pranked Raph, nobody suspected him, and Leon and both Mikey's got chased and tickled into submission.
The picture was Raph holding Little Mikey and Leon by the waist and reaching for him with a relaxed grin on his face.
Splinter seemed to melt at the sight as his younger self and brothers looked surprised, "Nobody believed us that It was Raphie but it was too glorious of a prank."
Little Leo looked at Mikey with hope, "Do we…get to be happy?"
Mike smiled at his younger older brother and nodded, "It'll be hard, there will be bumps, but I'd say we're pretty happy."
Donnie tilted his head, "How strong is everyone, my legs hurt just looking at him."
Mikey laughed at that, "Heck yeah dude, all our training and other training pays off. It also helps to use Chi sometimes."
Splinter nodded but him and his brothers looked confused, he didn't elaborate.
Big Mike turned to his younger self, "Any questions mini me?"
"Yeah, how did we meet other versions of us?"
"Bro, not gonna lie, it's gonna happen to you guys soon with different versions of us and it won't stop. The first group is annoying, even by my standards…but they weren't all that bad. We meet a lot of us's, but these guys are the youngest so far…and the most powerful."
Mini joined him in petting Raphie as his brothers relaxed, "So why is he all sleepy? Is he hurt?"
"Oh! Nah, he's fine. According to Leon, he's going through a growth spurt and gets like this. Which is both funny and adorable, especially since he just lays on the ones he trusts the most. Don't worry Raph, he would have tackled you to the ground if he hadn't smelled me first."
Mike let out a laugh at everyone's shocked faces, "He's getting bigger!?" "Why does he need to get bigger!?" "Wait, if he's only fifteen, does that mean he'd be twice as big later!?"
A familiar cackle erupted from the corner startling even Master Splinter, "I'm glad I'm not the only one reacting as such. Hamato Leonardo at your service, ready to go Uncle Mike?"
Splinter looks over to Big Mike as he hefted the larger turtle again, "Their Splinter asked Leo personally to keep an eye on them when we travel dimensions. They've taken to calling him "Mom" as a joke and it's gotten to the point where he answers to it, it's hilarious."
Leon open the portal as Big Mike approached, Michaelangelo had one more question though.
"Do we defeat Shredhead!?" Big Mike only winked and walked through the portal with Leon right behind him.
The next day Raphie managed to grow two whole feet! Though, he was nervous about it, no one (aside from the Hidden City Police) treated him differently.
He was their Raphie after all.

Ninternia: The Ultimate Elemental
Chapter 2: One Fateful Night
"How are you not cold?" Jaya asked her brother, shivering in a light weight black gi. Khan glanced over at her. He was wearing an identical outfit, but was barely bothered by the cold mountain air.
"Can I help it if I'm hot?" he asked grinning. Jaya groaned. His sister shared his light tan skin, full lips, and perfect teeth, but the similarities ended there. While Jaya had eyes as deep as the sea, Khan's were a warm hazel. Her hair was long and black, and was usually kept in a messy bun. His hair was a luscious, shining brown, styled into a perfect, spiky do. With an age difference of three years, Khan was notably taller than his sister. The biggest difference between the siblings wasn't in their natural looks though. While Jaya preferred function over fashion, her brother looked good, and he was well aware of it.
Choosing to change the subject rather than argue with him, Jaya asked, "What do you think Sensei Ju has planned?"
"Not sure," Khan replied, "Didn't he say something about a test?"
"Yeah, to see if we're ready for the next level."
Their conversation died out after that as Jaya began doing light exercises to warm up, and Khan started scrolling through social media on his phone. Ever since Sensei Ju had found them about a month ago, revealing that he'd trained their parents, and offering to teach them in the way of the ninja, Khan had taken to making regular posts about his training on his PostAPic, or PaP as its users called it , account and to his surprise, he'd gained a decent amount of followers.
Taking a selfie, using the moonlit temple and starry sky as his background, he posted it with the caption "Mysterious test tonight. Any guesses on what?" Before anyone could comment, someone kicked his arm, hard.
"Oof, my phone..." Khan groaned as it flew out of his hand. At the same time, he fell into a defensive stance and faced his attacker. They were much taller than him, and wore an all black gi identical to his, down to the hood that was obscuring their face and Khan didn't like to wear because of what it did to his hair. Khan decided to call him Ninja 1. Off to his left, another one was trading blows with Jaya. Aside from being shorter than the first, and having blue eyes rather than grey, plus lighter skin they were identical. Okay, fine, they weren't identical, but they were wearing the same outfit. Khan named the new one Ninja 2. Dodging under a roundhouse kick from Ninja 1, Khan countered with a punch to the gut, and a quick footsweep, knocking them down. Following them to the ground, Khan put them into a pin, and would've choked Ninja 1 out if something hitting the ground hadn't startled him from behind. As it was, Ninja 1 used his distraction to throw him off. Khan rolled to his feet next to Jaya. Glancing at the newcomer, Khan noted same black gi, and... metallic skin?
Is he wearing a mask or something?
"Another one?" Ninja 2 groaned.
At this point, the five of them were standing in a circle facing each other, waiting to see who would make the first move. Khan thought that the tension was thick enough to touch. Before anyone could attack, the Temple doors slammed open, startling all of them.
"What in my father's name is going out here!?" an old man yelled angrily as he stepped out into the moonlit courtyard. His golden eyes were slanted, with crinkles at the corner showing he smiled a lot, though he certainly wasn't now. Under his wide brimmed hat, was bald head, but his long white beard. more than made up for it. He wore a traditional white gi, with a stylized lotus on the back, and smaller one over his heart, as well as a simple black belt around his waist. To complete his "old, stern sensei" look, he " and carried a wore sandals, bamboo staff. All this, accompanied by an ever present teapot, made up their dear old Sensei Ju.
"Um... I found these guys sneaking into the Temple Sensei," Ninja 3, the metallic one, said.
"I was sneaking in? You were the ones doing all the sneaking!" Ninja 1 replied.
"You're both wrong! My sister and I were just waiting here when you three attacked us!!!" Khan shouted back.
"What did you mean by 'in my father's name'?" Jaya asked, and got all the others staring at her for the sudden subject change. Meanwhile, Sensei Ju looked to the sky as if asking for help before he started speaking.
"You all grew up on stories of the Elemental Guardians, the fabled protectors of Ninternia, yet what you did not know is that you are all descendants of these legendary heroes. That is why I sought you out," he said the paused to see how they'd take the news.
"You mean... I HAVE ELEMENTAL POWERS!?!" Ninja 2 said, throwing off his hood to reveal a flushed, sweaty face, adorned toy a pair of wide sky blue eyes, a small, upturned nose, a spray of freckles, and an astonished grin. By a mop of messy, reddish-brown hair "OH-MY-GOSH!! WHICH-DO-I-HAVE!? I COULD-" he proceeded in listing number of past Guardians, along with whatever feat they accomplished.
Khan chose to tune him out, and focus on what the others were sayin
"-trained my mom. Are you telling me she a Guardian?" Ninja 1, who had taken his hood too, showing messy black hair plastered to his wet brown skin with sweat, thick eye brows, and cheek bones, said in a distressed voice.
"Yes, in fact, Iris was one of my best students," Sensei Ju said, "Now, Ren if you'll stop, I'll tell the rest of why I gathered you here."
"Yes Sensei," Ninja-er, Ren said sheepishly as he kneeled. The others followed his example as Ju began to speak.
"It has long been my duty to find and train each new generation of Guardians, teaching them how to unlock and use their powers. Every single Guardian has been trained here, at the Temple of Elements. Jaya, earlier, you asked why I said in the name of my father. Now, I give you the answer." He pulled a necklace with the white half of a yin-yang symbol out of his collar, and held it out to them.
"I am the younger son of The First Elemental, creator of Ninternia. My father created my brother and I out of his own blood, poured from a wound he inflicted upon himself. We were supposed to protect the balance after he passed but... it was not to be. The sword my father cut himself with, the Blade of Elements, became imbued with his power after touching his blood. My brother and I were supposed to protect it until my father's true heir could claim it, but my brother... he became convinced that we should use the Blade to change Ninternia for the better. Despite the fact that we could only use the Blade safely together, when I refused, he stole it"
"I found it right outside the Temple gate a week later. What he did with it, or how it got there, I may never know, but I knew I couldn't risk him taking it ever again, so I gathered together the Guardians of the time, and we broke the Blade into four pieces, and created four vaults to hide them: the scabbard Vault, the Hilt Vault the Blade Vault, and the Tip Vault."
"This was a little over a century ago. I haven't heard anything from my brother since, but lately, I've been sensing a shift in the balance, and having visions of my father. Something big is coming, something that will change Ninternia forever. Whether for good or ill, I cannot say, but what I do know is that it's time for my father's heir, the Ultimate Elemental, to rise, and for the next generation of Elemental Guardians to unlock their powers." A quiet fell over them as Ju finished his story and the young Guardians digested the information.
Khan glanced at the others. Jaya had a thoughtful frown on her face that he knew well. Ren looked like he was going to explode with excitement. Ninja 1's face went from stunned to determined before his eyes. Ninja 3 still wore his mask, concealing his expression.
Breaking the silence, Jaya asked, "Sensei, you said it's time for your father's heir to rise, but how are we supposed to know who the Ultimate Elemental is in the first place?"
"If you choose to accept, your first job will be to retrieve the four Blade pieces. The Blade of Elements will then reveal its next wielder, " Ju explained.
"Okay, now for the important question; WHO HAS WHICH ELEMENT!?!" Ren said.
Ju rose and stood before Khan and said "First, I give you Khan Lenori, Guardian of Fire. Next is his sister, Jaya Lenori, Guardian of Water. Then Clay Brooks, Guard of Earth. After that, Ren Walker, Guardian of Lightning, Finally, Cyrus Julian, Guardian of Ice." As Cyrus's, Ninja 3, name left Sensei Ju's lips, he finally threw back his hood blowing the teenager's minds for the the third time that night.
Why?
Because Cyrus was a robot. He had short, metallic hair done in a crewcut. His eyes were light blue lights with slanted eye brows above them, and a strong nose between them. His face was expressionless and his stance rigid, but beyond that, he almost looked human. Almost.
"I. Demand. To Know Who. Made. You." Ren said slowly as he walked over to Cyrus and kneeled in front of him, inches from his face, "BECAUSE-THIS-WORKMANSHIP-IS-INCREDIBLE!!" Cyrus blinked.
"My apologies, I do not remember my creator," he said.
Ren ignored him as he got up, hauled Cyrus to his feet, and paced circles around him, poking and posing him while he muttering under his breath. Suddenly, he stopped pacing and thrust his index finger up in the air
"I've got it!" he said, "You're a nindroid! A ninja android!" Ren then sat back down looking very pleased with himself. The others stared at him.
"Crazy thing?" Khan said, "That's not the weirdest thing I've heard tonight." That earned him some laughs, and he felt the tension ease a bit.
"Now that you all know your heritage, and why I brought you here, it's time for you to make a choice. Will you watch history be made, or will you be the ones to make it?" Sensei Ju asked.
"Well, when you put it like that..." Khan said, rising to his feet along with the others, "Is it really a choice?"

Tagged by @crazymistahj thank you! Oof it's been so long since I've written anything, so "recent" is meaning two or three years back for some of these, but it was nice actually, to go back and look at some of them.

Guts pours cool water over Griffith's head.
Like an alchemical trick, it turns the cotton of his hair into silver strands, ribboning under the intermittent flow.
(2) By The Very Thought Of You, I Am Warmed
He doesn't want to fight.
But he doesn't want to die.

Hizashi spits out a mouthful of blood.
He's sitting on the ground, with his back up against a chain link fence at the far dark end of an alleyway. His wrists are tied above his head with wire, and his legs are stretched out in front of him and similarly bound.
(This one is also currently unfinished, and I feel really bad about that cause a lot of people were into it. All I can say is, I definitely haven't forgot about it.)
(8) A Struggle Of Conscience
Izuku pushes open the door to his dorm, and stops, palm flat against the wood, grain swirling under his skin.
How long has it been?

Chapter Seven
Schoolyard Gossip
April 18: Save Her
Today was the destined day that marked the first death of a character. It is the day that you have to absolutely make sure Makino doesn’t die, it’s just a theory, but you think that is how you can get home. While you are still trying to figure out how to save the others, you had already put into action a plan that would keep Makino from being killed by Akui, or at least you hoped you did. That plan might have been completely thrown out the window when you were sent to the hospital and missed a whole day of school.
Like Tuesday, you woke up early to try and beat Yuki to school, but your mother said she didn’t want you walking to school alone. She offered to walk you to school herself but you figured that you might as well walk with Yuki. I’m probably gonna have to follow Makino anyways, so there’s no reason to avoid Yuki anymore, but I am not being late.’ So after you got dressed, and decided that your stitches no longer needed to be covered, you took out your phone and dialed Yuki’s number, already expecting her to be sleeping.
It took a few tries before a groggy sounding Yuki answered the phone. “Hello…?”
“Sorry, did I wake you?” you asked, though you already knew the answer.
“No-” she yawned midway. “No, I’ve been awake for ages now…” She trailed off at the end of her sentence, clearly falling back to sleep.
“Kobayashi-san…?”
“Snrk-W-what?! Oh- L/n-san! Sorry about that,” shuffling could be heard on the other end of the phone. “HI! I wasn’t expecting you to call me at–7:30 in the morning! Oh shoot, I got to get ready.”
“Right, so anyways I was wondering if you wanted to walk to school together?” You held back a small giggle that threatened to spill from your mouth.
“Walk to school?” More shuffling and thuds. “That-that sounds great! Let me just, hold on, let me just get dressed first and then I will go pick you up–Oof!” Over the phone there was a rather loud thud followed by muffled feed-back noise. “Sorry, again, uh-where did you say you live?”
This time you couldn't help but to light heartedly laugh at her antics. “I didn’t, but I can tell. My address is—”
You had just enough time to finish breakfast before Yuki arrived to pick you up, your mother was surprisingly happy to see that you have a new friend. Yuki, on the other hand, kept fretting over your sprained hand that was currently in a wrist brace, if she noticed your lack of bandage then she didn’t say anything. By now it was only 7:48 a.m. and you still had one more person to pick up before actually heading to school. Unexpectedly, Akui lived not that far from you, only a nine to ten minute walk from your house, and from there the rest of the walk to school would take less than that.
Deciding to use the small amount of time where Akui wouldn’t be present, you begin to ask Yuki more about what happened while you were recovering. “So, I know you briefly talked about it last night, but what exactly happened while I was gone?”
“Oh!” She clapped her hands together. “So, Tuesday, after lunch ended I returned to class, but I realized that you weren’t there and that the teacher was also late and I got worried. A few minutes later, Watanabe-sensei returned saying how you had been in an accident and was sent to the hospital. You don’t know how worried I was to hear that. None of the teachers would say anything else on the matter either, only that ‘you were fine’ and ‘they were investigating the matter.’ I wanted to immediately go visit you in the hospital but Minato-kun said that you were probably still being checked over and in recovery so it wasn’t the best time. I was gonna call you the next day but then my Mom said I should be mindful of your recovery time and leave you alone to spend time with your family. I really wanted to check in on you, honest, but everyone around me said it was a bad idea!” She huffed, puffing her cheeks out and clearly upset by all the barriers that prevented her from visiting you.
“Well, I appreciate your concern, Kobayashi-san,” you chuckled. “And don’t worry, I don't blame you or anything. I understand everyone was just concerned for me, but, uhm, would you mind telling me how Makino-san was acting?”
“Oh, sure, but, if you don’t mind me asking, why?” Before you could answer, Yuki let out a sudden, and loud, gasp. “Don’t tell me she had something to do with your accident!”
You winced back at her sudden exclamation, not expecting it at all. ‘I guess she hasn’t heard about what actually happened.’ “Well, yeah. She’s kind of the reason I ended up in the hospital. She poured a bucket of water on me after I left you guys, and then she and I got into an argument where she then proceeded to push me. I ended up slipping and hit my head real hard. I just wanted to know how she was acting after she did all that.”
Yuki scoffed. “Well that explains her attitude.” Having only a vague idea of what she meant, you stare at her quizzically leading her to elaborate. “After you were sent to the hospital Makino was surprisingly silent for the rest of the day, normally you would hear at least one snide comment from her but nothing. The next day, however, it was like a switch flipped and she was acting ten times worse! She was being super smug, loudly talking herself up, which I thought was rude because you were still recovering and she had the nerve to insult you behind your back! I wasn’t going to stand for it anymore, so I confronted her.”
‘Of course you did…’
“I told her she was a rude narcissist and that she needs a reality check,” Yuki said, sounding proud. “Obviously she got super mad at me after that and started saying things like ‘You're just a jealous attention seeker B-word,’ or whatever. It would have been fine if she left it at that, but no, she had to feel like she was in control and started retaliating against me.”
“Oh, Kobayashi-san, that’s horrible. What did she do?”
“During gym she kept tripping me when it came time for running the track, and, while I don’t have any proof she did this, I know she was the one to put tacks on my seat. She did some other stuff but those were more minor incidents. The whole lunch period I basically ranted to Minato-kun about her.”
‘This girl is a whole face palm and a half! I thought it was just insults and shoulder bumping, now if Makino and Akui ever cross paths, Makino will surely die.’
“Surprisingly,” Yuki started to say, catching your attention. “She quieted down after the fifth period. She was called away to the office at some point, and when she returned she looked more pale faced than usual. I guess that was when the school found out she was the one behind your ‘accident.’ Her parents must have gotten on to her, serves her right if you ask me. Oh-” She interrupted herself. “We’re here! And Minato-kun isn’t even waiting outside. Tsk, tsk, whatever shall we do with that boy?” Yuki said, wagging her finger in faux disappointment.
You laughed along with her before the two of you went up to his front door to ring the bell. There was a brief moment of pause before a confused Akui opened the door.
“Yuki-chan? Kobayashi-san? What are you doing here so early? It’s only-” he takes a brief moment to check his watch. “-7:58. I wasn’t expecting you here so soon.”
“Aiya, Minato-kun, always so late. This is why I can’t wait up on you, I would be late all the time.” Yuki says, hands on her hips and shaking her head disappointedly.
Slowly catching on to her joke, Akui lightly chuckled saying, “Right, because it’s my fault you are almost always late.”
“Psh, obviously!” says Yuki, flickering her hand dismissively. “Now come on, before we really are late!” Akui had to hastily grab his bag as Yuki took him by the hand and practically yanked him out of his house.
All talk about Makino and your accident ceased as Akui took over most of the conversation. Most of the talk was about club activities, Yuki still hasn’t decided on one to join. In the game she doesn’t pick any of the more popular ones, instead, she opts to take over the practically abandoned photography club. To her, it was the perfect cover up for what she actually was doing, which was investigative work. After the truth of Makino’s death was revealed to not have been suicide the case quickly went cold. The murder was surprisingly thorough when it came to cleaning up any incriminating evidence. Despite how Makino treated her, Yuki felt that this was an injustice, and that the police force in this small town were terrible at their jobs. This was when she decided that she would personally find out who actually killed Makino. ‘She won’t have to do any of that if I can help it,’ you think to yourself.
When the three of you arrived at school it was just barely 8:10, not as early as what you would have preferred, given the circumstances, but you weren’t late which is what mattered. As you expected Akihiko was there, doing his self-appointed class president tasks, along with a few other of your classmates, but Makino wasn’t there. ‘Huh…’ While it wasn’t completely unexpected, you still find yourself surprised. ‘It would be very convenient if she just decided not to show up today.’ At your entrance, Akihiko turns to greet you, but he is beaten to the punch by the other kids in your class. Like on Monday, you are swarmed with questions, you were just glad there were less people there this time.
“Kobayashi-san, your back!”
“Oh, your poor face.”
“How are you feeling, Kobayashi-san?”
“I heard what happened from my Mom, you have been through a lot.”
“Oh my goodness, your hand is in a brace now!”
“I can’t believe Makino-san would do something like this.”
“For real, the nerve of that girl.”
“Did you see how she was acting yesterday? She doesn’t even feel sorry about it.”
They started to surround you, pushing Yuki away as more of them joined in. Not only were they hounding you about what happened, but they were also gossiping about Makino as well. Like last time, they didn’t let you get more than a word in before interrupting you. Just as you were starting to feel overwhelmed again, Akihiko stopped them.
“Alright everyone, I understand that you are both curious and concerned about what happened, but it is obvious that you all are overwhelming her. Please take your seats, and give her some space.”
At his words all the students dispersed, and you let out a sigh of relief. “My word, they could at least pretend to show some restraint.” Akihiko said, adjusting his glasses as he shook his head at your classmates' impertinence. He turned his attention back to you. “I apologize on their behalf, L/n-san, it seems they lack any sense of self control,” he gave a pointed look to the rest of your classmates, who looked away in shame. “If there is anything you might need assistance with, don't hesitate to come to me.”
“Of course, Fukumoto-kun, I appreciate that,” you replied. The two of you bowed respectfully to each other before you made your way to your seat, Yuki following along with you, and Akihiko exited the class, stating he needed to collect some paperwork for the teacher.
As you sat down, Yuki glanced over her shoulder, watching Akihiko leave. “That boy is a real piece of work sometimes,” she said.
Having a faint idea what she meant, you still asked. “What do you mean?”
“I don’t know, it’s just, I see him try his best as our class president, always greeting everyone and super chill, but then he acts so dismissive towards me. You know?”
Actually, you did know. At the start of their rivals to lovers romance, Akihiko was cold and distant towards Yuki, a stark contrast to the way he treated everyone else. With his other classmates there was an obvious feeling of respect and professionalism with how he interacted with them, but it seemed Yuki brought out the worst in him. In the prologue he only acted in a petty manner, acting overly critical towards her small mistakes, harshly judging her often informal manner of speech, and often correcting her when she didn’t necessarily need to be corrected. His pettiness calmed down after he was elected the student body president but then it jumped into full on rivalry after Yuki took his spot as the top student first in their class, then in their grade level.
“I don’t know, maybe I’m just overthinking things.” Yuki contemplated, leaning against your desk.
“Well, I think there might be more to him than what meets the eye.” You said after thinking over her words. From her befuddled look, you had to elaborate. “I-I just mean maybe you remind him of something distasteful from his past, and he can’t help but treat you differently…” ‘What kind of word vomit is spewing from my mouth? There’s no way she’s gonna buy this.’
“Huh,” Yuki tilted her head in thought. “I never thought about it like that before, maybe you’re right.”
‘She actually bought that?’
As you and Yuki continued on in your conversation, moving away from the topic of Akihiko to more light hearted topics, the classroom door slid open. It wasn’t an abnormal occurrence, there was still ten minutes left before class started, so your first thought was that it was another one of your classmates and you didn’t bother paying attention. However, at the drastic increase of volume of the female students in your class, you decided it was worth a peek at. To your utter bewilderment, Kaneko Fuyuhiko, the pretty boy of the school, was standing at the entrance of the classroom. He looked to be looking for someone, his ocean blue eyes scanning across each individual, looking past you but then did a double take. His eyes stopped on you. ‘Wait, is he looking at me?’ The response that you got to your question was Kaneko making his way over to your desk. Yuki stared incredulous at his arrival.
“L/n-san, Hi!” He greeted you.
“O-oh, you know my name?”
He chuckled in his boyish voice, “Well of course, practically everyone has been talking about you since your accident last week.”
“Right, so, why are you here then?”
“Oh, I guess you don’t remember. Actually, I was the one that helped you out. I wanted to check on you after I heard you were back in school.”
‘Of all people, he was the one that helped me?’ “Oh, I didn’t know. Well, thank you very much for helping me out back then. I really appreciate it.”
“Heh, it was no big deal. I couldn’t just leave you like that, now could I?” He talked with a sense of arrogance in him. “I’m Kaneko Fuyuhiko, by the way, but you can just call me Kaneko-kun if you want.” He gave a refreshing smile.
“Right then, Kaneko…kun, you didn’t need to go through all the trouble to check on me, really, I am fine.”
“Well I figured that I might as well, I have been thinking about you a lot since then,” the other girls in your class swooned. “I was really worried when I saw you drenched in water, looking delirious, then you suddenly passed out on me.” His tone took on a more serious note. “I kind of felt it was my responsibility to see if you were okay.” Suddenly he reached up his hand, hovering over your unbandaged forehead, you felt it was that it didn't need a bandage anymore. “After all, you just recovered from your previous accident.” Your face started to heat up as he then pushed aside a small strand of hair, but his hand was suddenly smacked away.
“She didn’t give you permission to touch her. Why don’t you keep your hands to yourself.” Yuki spoke up after quietly standing by your side. She was being polite by not speaking up despite her distaste for Kaneko, but she finally had enough of him.
“Ah, Kobayashi-san, I didn’t see you there.” He said, smiling politely. “No harm has been done, no need to be so hasty. Besides, she didn’t seem to mind. Right, L/n-san?”
Flustered by the sudden attention, you stammered. “W-well, I don’t-”
“That’s because you surprised her, Kaneko-san, anyone would be caught off guard after you just show up and start caressing them.” Yuki scoffed.
“That was hardly caressing,” he lightheartedly scoffed in return. “I was just worried about her cut.”
“Well you can be worried without touching her, you don’t know if she’s insecure about her scar or not.”
‘So that’s why she didn’t say anything.’
“Well, she shouldn’t be. Even with that scar, she still looks rather cute.” He sent a wink in your direction.
‘How does anyone respond to that?’ You were still flabbergasted about the whole situation, quietly sitting between the two arguing parties.
Yuki took a protective stance in front of you, blocking you from Kaneko’s view. “Obviously, but she doesn’t need any of your half-baked compliments to know that.”
It was probably a comedic sight, the three of you. On one side there was a seething Yuki who looked about ready to pounce, while on the other end there was a rather amused looking Kaneko, and sandwiched in between the two was you, looking completely dumbfounded. The world seemed to have mercy on, as, before the two could continue arguing, the school bell rang and the teacher walked in, followed by a rather quiet Makino.
‘Drats, I was hoping she would stay gone, at least for today.’
“Alright students, the bell has rung so please take your seats, and Kaneko-san,” at the mention of his name he straightened up. “I’d advise you to get to your class, post haste.”
“Yes, Watanabe-sensei, I'll get going then.” Before leaving he sent one last flirty look to you, much to Yuki’s dismay, saying, “I’ll see you later then, L/n-chan.” Yuki looked ready to blow a gasket, but she couldn’t do or say much now that class had started.
Now that the school’s idol was gone, the whispers around the classroom turned to be about Makino. Their words were not kind, and you had a feeling Makino could hear them. At the teacher’s command, she quietly made her way to her seat, no glares, no snide comments, not even a glance in your direction.
‘She’s being surprisingly well behaved today,’ you think to yourself. ‘For her sake, and for mine, let’s hope she stays that way, at least for today.’

A/n: Another early update! Since it's my spring break, and I had enough time to finish it, I decided I would publish this chapter early. I also wanted to publish another chapter this week because we still haven't gotten to the climax of this arc yet, this chapter dragged out longer than I planned so I didn't get to add it liked I originally wanted to. On the bright side we have met the second love interest! If I have enough time then you might see another update by Sunday. I also added an extra scene at the end of Chapter Four that will only be available here on Quotev. It's not much but I think it adds more clarity to the end of that chapter leading into the next one. In other news, the poll has ended and while it was close at points, the winner is version two. I think the pinks match better with the overall aesthetic of my book so I hope everyone likes the change. I have also put together a Pinterest account where I have boards dedicated to the appearances and aesthetics of each character as well as a look into future characters. If you are curious about what I imagine my characters to look like then here is a link to my Pinterest profile: My Pinterest Profile (Let me know if the link is messed up.) That is all I have left to say, let me know what you guys think and I'll see you in the next update!

Don't Hurt the Bird Pt. 1 (MHA Fanfic)
Here's my latest project that I hope you all enjoy! It involves Hawks, Tokoyami AND Dabi :3

Hawks was an enigma, one that Tokoyami had no hope in ever truly understanding. Even though he’d been interning with the hero for months now, he was no closer to understanding anything about his mentor than he had been at the start of his internship. There were exactly two things that Tokoyami knew about Hawks, and those two things weren’t even anything special that only he knew. Everyone knew them.
One. Hawks loved chicken, especially the fried kind.
Two. Hawks became a pro hero at eighteen, the youngest Japan had ever seen.
Those two things were the only things that Tokoyami knew. Or rather, they were the only facts that Hawks let anyone ever know about him. And while that might bother some people, like the sidekicks and other people that worked underneath Hawks, it didn’t bother Tokoyami in the slightest. Of course, he was still curious about his mentor and would certainly like to know more about the hero that was teaching him to be a better hero, but if Hawks wanted to keep his private life private, then who was he to judge?
“He-ey, Tsukuyomi!” Tokoyami was jolted out out of his thoughts by his mentor suddenly draping himself across the back of the couch. Hawks looked at him with that casual, friendly grin of his, en expression that actually meant the hero was doing some serious thinking of his own. “Whatcha doing over here, all by your lonesome?”
“Hello, Hawks.” Tokoyami glanced over at the hero before going back to the school work he’d been working on. He was currently on one of his mandated breaks, so he was using the opportunity to catch up on some school work that he’d neglected. But it didn’t look like he was going to get to work on it now. “I am attempting to complete an assignment for Aizawa-sensei. Do you need something?”
“Nah, everything’s quiet on the hero front. End of the day and all that, ya know? Villain’s need sleep too it seems.” Hawks jumped over the back of the couch, settling himself beside Tokoyami and looking over his shoulder at his assignment. Tokoyami fought the urge to move away. He wasn’t a fan of his personal space being invaded, but any attempts to get Hawks to move an inch to the right would just go ignored by the hero. “Can I help?”
“No.” Tokoyami shook his head. The assignment was a simple one, just an essay they had to write on how he and his classmates had improved since the start of the year. He knew that some of his classmates were stressed out about the assignment, unable to see how much they’d grown, but Tokoyami was different. He was well aware of his capabilities and how he’d improved, even though it wasn’t as much progress as some of his classmates. Like Midoriya.
“Are you sure?” Hawks pressed. “I can almost see steam come out of your ears from you thinking too hard, kid.”
“Hawks. I don’t have ears.” Tokoyami deadpanned.
“Ears, slits, whatever, birds still have ears.” Hawks waved a hand nonchalantly. “What’s the assignment about?”
Tokoyami stared at his mentor, who just blinked owlishly at him. He wondered what Hawks wanted from him today; the hero had never shown much interest in his schoolwork before, usually just leaving him to work on it while the hero completed his own paper—ah. “Go do your paperwork, Hawks.”
“Oof! You caught me!” Hawks laughed, climbing off the couch and making his way towards his desk. The older man stopped and stared at the mountain of paperwork with a disgusted expression, which coaxed a snort from Tokoyami. “Hey! Don’t laugh at my misery!”
“If you did your paperwork when you got it, you wouldn’t have this problem.” Tokoyami shrugged, scribbling down a few more notes for his assignment.
“Wanna trade then?”
“No.”
“Ugh. Bo-o-oring.” Tokoyami glanced up just in time to watch Hawks collapse into his desk chair, slowly dragging a mound of paper closer to him. He’d give his mentor two minutes before the man would come to bother him again. If there was one thing Hawks hated doing, it was paperwork. It wasn’t uncommon for Hawks to spit out every excuse under the sun to get out of doing his paperwork; from doing extra patrols to picking up food for his employees, Hawks had tried it all.
Tokoyami paused in his writing. That was three things he knew about Hawks, one more thing than the rest of the world.
The rest of Tokoyami’s lunch break passed by without further interruption, Hawks actually sitting still for more than five minutes and working on paperwork. He’d watched as sidekicks all walked past the office, stopping and poking their heads inside, all of them wearing looks of shock and disbelief at the sight of Hawks actually doing the paper side of his job. It was amusing really, to see it happen, especially when Hawks finally realized he had a small crowd watching him and turned as red as his wings.
“Is the sight of me doing paperwork really that entertaining?” Hawks raised an eyebrow at his sidekicks, who were very quick to climb over each other in their haste to run away. “My sidekicks are so weird.”
“Considering they work for you, that shouldn’t be surprising.” Tokoyami commented, putting away his assignment and adorning his cloak. Dark Shadow used that opportunity to poke its head out. “Are we finally doing something fun?”
“Hush, Dark Shadow.” Tokoyami said, turning towards his mentor. “My lunch break is over, Hawks. What would you like me to do?”
“How would you like to lead a patrol all on your own?” Hawks grinned at him, pointing one of his feathers in his direction. Tokoyami hadn’t even noticed him pull out a feather.
Lead my own patrol? Tokoyami straightened, unable to stop the feeling of excitement that shot through his body, although he took care to not show it on his face. A hero must be calm and collected at all times after all. “You want me to lead my own patrol? Without you?”
“Yep! You’ve proven that you can keep up with me Tsukuyomi, and you’ve improved in your combat skills. I reckon you’re ready to lead a patrol.” Hawks’ smile faded into a more serious expression, the sudden change leaving Tokoyami questioning whether or not this was actually Hawks’ idea, or if one of his co-workers had coerced the hero into doing this. But just as fast as the seriousness appeared, it vanished back into a smile, and Hawks held out the feather. “I want you to take one of my feathers though, just in case you run into trouble.”
“You don’t think I can do it.” It wasn’t a question, but a statement. Tokoyami knew that while Hawks would let his co-workers work on his behalf when he was kept away from it, the hero didn’t actually trust them to do the job properly. And Tokoyami had to admit; it hurt a little.
“No, no, no, that’s not it at all!” Hawks waved his hands around quickly. “The feather is just a precaution, since you never know what you’ll run into out there, and Eraserhead will actually murder me if you get hurt on my watch.” Hawks paused, tilting his head to the side in a bird-like manner. “Actually, he’d probably pluck me first, then murder me.”
“I understand.” Tokoyami said, taking the feather and pocketing it. He didn’t, but he didn’t need the image of his teacher plucking Hawks like a turkey in his mind. “Whose coming with me?”
“You can choose.” Hawks made a shooing motion. “Now go on, get outta here. Have a good patrol, and update me when you get back.”
Tokoyami nodded and left the room, determined to do the very best he could on his first solo patrol and make Hawks proud to have him as an intern. As for the sidekicks he’d take with him; he’d just go with the ones he’d been working with since he’d arrived at the agency. Kuro and Eagle were the top sidekicks at the agency, and the ones Hawks had chasing after him the most. So, Tokoyami knew he’d be alright if he had them with him.
And it was clear Hawks had had the same thought process, because the two sidekicks were already waiting for him outside.
“Tsukuyomi!” Eagle waved at him, as friendly as ever. “I hear Hawks gave you your first solo patrol! That’s pretty big for you.”
“Thank you.” Tokoyami gave a polite bow. “If it’s alright, I’d like you and Kuro to come with me. Unless you are needed elsewhere.”
“We’d be honored.” Kuro smiled underneath his hero outfit. “Lead the way, Tsukuyomi. We’ll be right behind you.”
Patrol had been going well, with only a few robberies and just the one villain attack that Tokoyami had solved quickly. Things were going well for his first solo job. Currently, he was perched on the top of a roof, watching the streets below, much like his mentor would do when things were quiet. Kuro and Eagle were below, roaming the streets and ready to let him know the moment a villain showed up. It was odd that there weren’t a lot of villains about right now; Tokoyami distinctly recalled Hawks rushing around non-stop during their patrols together, chasing down villains. Yet Tokoyami had encountered not even a quarter of that amount.
Tokoyami frowned, shifting so that his legs were dangling off of the rooftop. Could the lack of villains mean that something was going to happen? Or did it mean that Hawks was just that good at his job, that the villains stayed on the down low now? Or maybe he was just worrying about nothing. Either way, Tokoyami was keen to have his first patrol end well with a major incident.
“This is boring.” Dark Shadow boldly peeked out from underneath Tokoyami’s cloak, quickly retreating to the safety of the darkness when it realized the sun was still shining brightly.
“Boring is good, Dark Shadow.” Tokoyami chided. “Boring means there are no villains. And that is good.”
“But I’m bored.” Dark Shadow whined, squirming underneath the cloak. Tokoyami just huffed, not even bothering to answer his quirk. Continuing to engage with Dark Shadow when he was whining was just going to go nowhere. It would end up being an endless loop until Dark Shadow decided it had had enough and would hide and sulk; not something he wanted to happen while he was working.
Tokoyami’s phone buzzed, a message from Eagle coming through telling him that the sidekick had spotted a villain. “Come along, Dark Shadow, we have a villain to aphrehend.”
“Yay!”
Tokoyami leapt off the roof, Dark Shadow quick to wrap itself around him as the two of them began to gain altitude, flying towards Eagle’s location. A quick check showed that Kuro was also making his way to his colleague’s location, which had Tokoyami become a little concerned. Both of the sidekicks were plenty strong enough to take down a villain on their own, so for both of them to go, and to also call for him, whatever villain that had showed up must’ve been a tough one. Tokoyami just hoped that they wouldn’t have to contact Hawks. He wanted to make his mentor proud, not need to be rescued by him.
As he approached Eagle’s location, the wind began to pick up, and he saw the shadow of a figure shoot up into the air.
“Tsukuyomi!” Kuro’s voice came through the transmitter. “The villain has a quirk that makes him airborne! We can’t touch him from down here.”
“That’s okay. I can handle it. Just get the civillians to safety.” Tokoyami ordered. It felt a little weird to order his superiors around, but now wasn’t the time to dwell on it. He had a villain to capture. “Let’s go, Dark Shadow.”
“Okay!”
Tokoyami shot into the air after the villain, trying his best to navigate the strong winds that came to greet him. It was hard, as he wasn’t the best at flying yet, but he managed to get past them. The villain was humanoid in nature, wearing clothes much like Tokoyami’s own so that it made it near impossible to make out any features. The villain shot another wind attack in Tokoyami’s direction, which he managed to dodge, although the wind threatened to dislodge the cloak that was protecting Dark Shadow. And that wouldn’t be a good thing.
“So, they’re sending children out to fight now?” The villain taunted, flying through the air at a speed that almost rivalled Hawks’ own, Tokoyami noted. “Pity. I wonder if your death will bring your mentor out to fight.”
Tokoyami shuddered at the words devoid of emotion. He was at a disadvantage in this fight, he knew that from the moment he decided to engage. If this fight were taking place at night, then it’d be a different story, but it wasn’t. But maybe this was the perfect opportunity to conquer his daylight weakness. “There is no need for him to come.” Tokoyami said.
He quickly flew above the villain before suddenly dropping down, instructing Dark Shadow to change from Black Fallen Angel to Sabbath. Dark Shadow did so, and Tokoyami launched his attack, the villain dodging with a quick burst of wind. Tokoyami danced through the air with the villain, both of them rising higher and higher into the air as they each tried to get the upper hand on each other. All the while, the villain taunted, saying that Tokoyami had no hope in winning. That he’d never be the hero Hawks was; things that Tokoyami already knew, but was determined to prove wrong.
So of course, it went wrong.
Tokoyami dodged to the side as the villain lunged towards him, not expecting the strong blast of wind that followed the attack. The wind blast was strong enough to blow his cape clean off, and the effect was instant. Dark Shadow cried out as the light assaulted him, disappearing back into Tokoyami’s body. And without Dark Shadow to keep him in the year, Tokoyami began to fall. Panic was quick to fill Tokoyami as he fell, especially when all attempts to call out Dark Shadow failed. The ground hurtled closer and closer, and Tokoyami wondered briefly if today was the day he would die.
A flash of red flew out of Tokoyami’s pocket—Hawks’ feather he realized—and suddenly, Tokoyami wasn’t falling anymore. His heart pounded in his chest as he hung midair, and his panic eased a little. But only a little as Tokoyami spotted the villain coming towards him. And without any way to defend himself, Tokoyami was a sitting bird.
Just as the villain prepared to hit him with another wind blast, Hawks was there, sending feathers in the villain’s direction. Relief filled Tokoyami at the sight of his mentor, although he wished that Hawks hadn’t had to come at all. Hawks’s expression was one of fury as the hero pushed the villain away. The villain shot away to avoid Hawks’ feathers, but Hawks just kept sending them at the villian.
"Hawks!" Tokoyami couldn’t help but cry out. His mentor glanced over his shoulder at him, flashing him a reassuring smile.
“Hey, Tsukuyomi!” The hero flew over and wrapped one arm around him, removing the feather that had saved his life. “I thought I told you to call if you needed help.”
Tokoyami dropped his head in shame. “I thought I could handle it.” He let out an embarrassing yelp as Hawks dodged to the side, the villain relaunching his attack.
“You did well, kid.” Hawks praised, expertly dodging attacks and fighting back with a storm of feathers. “Now let’s get you back to the ground so we can apprehend this guy.”
Tokoyami nodded. There wasn’t much he could do right now other than help Hawks right now, so he just clung to his mentor’s jumpsuit as Hawks dove threw the air, doing his best to stay out of the way. Hawks shifted him around so that he was only using one hand to hold him, the other free to pull out one of his feather blades. What that would do against someone with a wind quirk, Tokoyami didn’t know.
Wind continued to buffet him and Hawks around, not that Hawks seemed overly bothered by the villain’s quirk, dodging and attacking like this was what he did every day. Which wasn’t surprising considering that Hawks was known for flying at high speeds, or flying in terrible weather when his work called for it. If anything, this was the best possible matchup for Hawks and Tokoyami had absolute faith in his mentor. He just wished that he was on the ground for it instead of hanging onto Hawks.
Suddenly, a spray of blood splattered against Tokoyami’s face and he was once again, falling. He reached out a hand to try and grab onto Hawks, but the villain pushed his mentor out of his reach. The blood wasn’t Hawks’ thankfully, but the villain’s instead. It appeared that the villain had grown frustrated with being unable to injure Hawks and had just straight up thrown themselves at the hero. Tokoyami saw that Hawks’ feather blade was lodged into the villain’s shoulder. But what caught Tokoyami’s attention was Hawks’ panicked expression as he thrashed about in the villain’s clutches.
Oh, that’s right. I’m falling.
Air rushed around Tokoyami as the ground drew closer and closer. He tried to call Dark Shadow to him; even a single second of his quirk would be enough to save him. But his attempts were in vain. Dark Shadow was still too wounded from being attacked by sunlight to come out. So Tokoyami looked towards the ground, hoping that maybe someone in the crowd would notice his plight and attempt to save him. But all he could see was looks of horror on people’s faces, and in that moment, he knew he was going to die.
He didn’t have any regrets, at least, he didn’t have any that he could think of in the moment. He’d miss his classmates, and his teacher. Hell, he’d even miss Hawks despite how much the hero frustrated him at times. He wondered if they’d mourn him, or if they’d just move on with their lives and forget about him. Something told him that that wouldn’t happen. His classmates weren’t the type to just move on from a classmate’s death. Look at how they’d reacted when Bakugo had been taken; when the USJ had happened.
No, they would mourn him. Of course they would.
Tokoyami only regretted being the one to make them mourn.
“Tsukuyomi!” Tokoyami opened the eyes he didn’t realize he’d closed, watching in silence as Hawks flew towards him, wings sweeping through the air with one arm outstretched. Tokoyami didn’t even think, just stretched out his own hand, relief flooding him for the second time that day when Hawks’ own hand gripped his tightly.
Hawks’ wings flared, catching the wind to slow their descent before beating through the air frantically. Tokoyami glanced down to realize that if Hawks hadn’t gotten there when he did, Tokoyami would’ve just become a blood splatter on the ground. Eyes wide, he pulled his gaze away from the ground towards his mentor, opening his mouth to thank the man.
BANG!
The sudden sound made Tokoyami flinch as blood splattered across his face, Hawks’ expression looking pained. That was when Tokoyami noticed the blood spreading across Hawks’ hero costume at a rapid pace, one of his wings becoming limp. Someone shot Hawks.
And then they were falling.
Tokoyami reacted quickly, pulling Hawks against him to protect his mentor. He had no idea how much damage had been done to Hawks, but considering how the hero just lay in his arms limp as a doll, it wasn’t good. Hawks’ eyes were half closed, a pinched expression on his face, yet the hero didn’t react at all to try and stop their descent. Tokoyami tried once again to call Dark Shadow out, and finally, his quirk showed itself, braving the sunlight long enough to slow their descent until they hit the ground at a not death inducing speed.
The sensation of hitting the ground left Tokoyami gasping for air, his body torn between trying to breathe, or cause him pain. But it looked like pain won out in the end because as soon as Tokoyami took a breath, pain shot through his body. He couldn’t help the whimper that escaped, yet he refused to let go of Hawks, who hadn’t moved since they hit the ground. Tokoyami’s ears were ringing, and his vision was blurry, but he could vaguely make out shapes rushing around him and Hawks, some trying to pry the hero out of his arms. Tokoyami tried to tell them to stop, but all that came out of his mouth was an indistinguishable mumble. But he still tried, determined to not let these people take his mentor from him. He had no way of knowing if they were heroes or villains after all. However, the hands were stronger and Hawks was pulled away from him, more hands grabbing onto Tokoyami. He thrashed about, ignoring the pain, and encroaching darkness that grew when he did so. But he could feel his strength waning and soon went limp, the darkness taking him completely.
---
A faint beeping noise roused Tokoyami from his slumber. He recognized the beeping as that of a hospital machine, and realized that he must be in the hospital. However, he couldn’t recall how he’d ended up there in the first place. Tokoyami opened his eyes, blinking rapidly when the light directly above his bed blinded him. Who decided a light directly above people was a good idea? Once his eyes had adjusted, he looked around the room, finding it devoid of people except for the familiar shape of his teacher passed out in the chair beside his bed. That had Tokoyami pausing for a moment. He must’ve been hurt bad if his teacher was sleeping by his bedside. Yet he couldn’t see or hear any of his classmates. Were they here? Or had they been forbidden from his room while he’d been unconscious.
Suddenly the memories flooded back of the villain attack, and Hawks getting shot. Tokoyami’s breathing picked up, which sent the monitor off, loud beeping flooding the room. Aizawa shot upright, alert and ready to fight whatever had caused his student’s distress. Tokoyami’s eyes met those of his teachers, and he opened and closed his mouth several times, words failing him just when he needed them the most.
“Tokoyami, you’re alright.” Aizawa reached over and gripped his shoulders just as a doctor came rushing into the room. “I need you to take a breath, okay? You’re safe. You’re in the hospital.”
Tokoyami nodded, doing his best to breathe deeply and evenly, the monitor slowly calming down back to its normal levels. His gaze flitted from his teacher to the doctor, and he leaned back against the pillow. “Aizawa-sensei. Is Hawks alright?”
Aizawa didn’t say anything, but the crease that formed on his teacher’s forehead had him worrying for his mentor more than ever. But before he even had a chance to panic or question Aizawa more, the doctor spoke up. “Hawks is alive, if that’s what you were worried about, Tokoyami. I’m happy to update you on his condition, but first, let’s take a look at how you’re doing.”
Tokoyami wanted nothing more than to be updated on Hawks’ condition, but the doctor’s no-nonsense expression promised that he wouldn’t get any answers until he’d been looked over. So he let the doctor do as he needed, not enjoying the poking and prodding in the slightest. Especially when said poking and prodding brought pain to his already battered body. He was grateful when Aizawa began to distract him from the doctor’s ministrations, telling him that he’d been unconscious for only a day, and that his classmates had stopped by to see how he was doing. That made Tokoyami feel warm inside. His classmates cared about him.
After another couple of minutes, the doctor pulled away, looking rather pleased. “Well, you’re healing well, Tokoyami. You’re lucky you escaped from that fall with nothing more than a broken arm and a few broken ribs.” Well that explained why breathing hurt when he had to think about it. “You had some minor surgery for your arm upon arrival, but that was the worst of the damage.”
Tokoyami looked down at his arm, only just realizing that it was heavily bandaged.
“Recovery Girl is unavailable right now, but the moment she’s free, she’ll come and heal you.” Aizawa explained. “You’ll have to stay here until then I’m afraid.”
“That’s fine, Aizawa-sensei.” Tokoyami didn’t mind. It would give him the chance to check up on Hawks. “How is Hawks?”
Aizawa and the doctor shared a look, his teacher giving a single nod before the doctor turned towards him. “Hawks is currently in critical condition. The bullet he was shot with punctured one of his lungs, and went straight through his heart.” Tokoyami’s heart skipped a beat, and the doctor was quick to continue explaining. “We stopped the bleeding, although it was touch and go for a while. Hawks also sustained damage to one of his wings from the bullet, and broke several bones when you both hit the ground.”
“But—but he’s alive?” Tokoyami asked, relieved when the doctor nodded.
“He’s alive and stable—for now. I won’t sugarcoat things, Tokoyami, but Hawks could very much still die.”
“I want to see him.” Tokoyami looked at his teacher. “Please, Sensei, let me see Hawks.”
Aizawa studied him intensely, like he did when he was trying to figure out what to say about a student’s performance during a practical class. Finally, after what seemed like forever, Aizawa nodded. “Get some rest first, Tokoyami. I’ll take you to see Hawks in the morning.”
Tokoyami opened his mouth to argue, but Aizawa simply levelled him with one of his looks that stopped an argument before it could even start. Instead, he slumped against the pillows, resigning himself to a night of worry for his mentor. He had faith that his mentor would pull through this. Hawks was the Number Two hero; he wouldn’t let something as simple as a bullet kill him. He glanced at his teacher. “As soon as it’s morning, we can go?”
Aizawa nodded. “I promise you, first thing in the morning, we’ll go see how Hawks is doing.” His teacher stood from the chair, Tokoyami wincing at the sound of joints popping. Just how long had his teacher been sitting by his bedside?
Tokoyami realized then that Aizawa had been speaking to him and gave his teacher an apologetic look. “Sorry, what were you saying, Sensei?”
“If you need anything, just call. I’ll be around.” Aizawa repeated, leaving the room. The doctor checked on the machines that Tokoyami was hooked up to before leaving himself, the door shutting quietly behind him.
Tokoyami was alone.
One thing that Tokoyami didn’t like about staying in the hospital, was how slow time passed. There wasn’t a clock in his room to tell him what time it was, but the nurse that stopped by told him it had only been a couple of hours since he woke up. It felt more like six hours. So he tried to sleep, which was harder than he’d thought it would be, but every time he thought he might be able to close his eyes, his body would send shooting pain through his broken limbs.
Eventually, it got to the point where Tokoyami just gave up on sleep. It was well into the night by now, if the quiet throughout the hospital, and the dark outside his rooms window was anything to go by. An idea grew in Tokoyami’s mind. No one was around to stop him from going to see Hawks, so why didn’t he just go right now? It wasn’t like he could sleep, and he’d be back in bed before anyone noticed he was gone.
His mind made up, Tokoyami slowly climbed out of bed, doing his best to cause himself minimal pain, but not quite managing it. It was going to be a slow trip. Next came the problem of the monitor. If he just removed all the leads attached to him, the machine would go off and alert the doctors to his adventure. He studied the machine, noting that it was on wheels, but could be really lug the machine around the hospital with him? Especially since he had no idea where Hawks even was in the hospital. In the end, he found the power button to the machine and just flicked it off, waiting a few seconds to see if anyone would come running, and when they didn’t, he pulled the leads off his body.
Now the hard part.
Finding Hawks.
Tokoyami carefully exited his room, his pace kept far slower than he would’ve liked thanks to his broken ribs. But he wasn’t going to let them stop him from seeing his mentor. Carefully, he made his way to the hospital, theorizing that Hawks would most likely be in a private room away from prying eyes. At least he hoped that was the case. Otherwise, he’d be walking around the hospital well until dawn. Tokoyami moved down the halls slowly, stopping when his body cried out for rest, but not for too long. And while it didn’t feel like he was making much progress, he knew that he was making some. It was just very slow going. But soon enough, Tokoyami found himself leaving the wing of the hospital he’d been kept in, and entering the private wing. Now to find the room that Hawks was in.
He didn’t know how long he wandered the halls for, but it was long enough that Tokoyami was almost ready to call it a night. His body was crying out for him to stop, and he was no closer to finding Hawks. He really should’ve asked a nurse or someone for directions before beginning this trek; it might’ve saved him time and energy. But he hadn’t, and he wasn’t going to give up just yet, not until he’d found Hawks. He wouldn’t.
It was by sheer chance that he found Hawks’ room, almost walking past it if it weren’t for the name on the door. Tokoyami stood before the door; his hand outstretched to open it. What would he see when he opened it? Would Hawks be sleeping peacefully, or would be have tubes everywhere like those intensive care patients that Tokoyami had seen in movies? Maybe I should wait for Sensei. Tokoyami thought, quickly dispelling the thought. No. He was stronger than that. Hawks was his mentor and he knew if his mentor had been able to, he’d’ve sat by Tokoyami’s bedside. Hawks may not have wanted him at first, but that’d changed and they’d grown closer over time. So Tokoyami would do the same. He’d sit beside Hawks’ bedside until the hero woke up. He didn’t care if he got into trouble for it.
Tokoyami carefully pushed the door open, entering the room and letting the door swing shut behind him. The first thing he noticed was Hawks lying in the bed, oxygen mask on his face, several wires and a tube running underneath the gown his mentor was wearing. Hawks was pale in the hospital light, looking closer to death than to life, and it dawned on Tokoyami at that moment that the doctor had been right, and that Hawks could very much die despite their best efforts.
The second thing that Tokoyami noticed, was that he wasn’t alone.
A figure—a person Tokoyami didn’t know—sat on the edge of Hawks’ bed, one hand resting on the hero’s head. The figure was staring at him, turquoise eyes and black hair was all Tokoyami could see underneath the hooded clothing the stranger was wearing. But it wasn’t really a stranger. Tokoyami would’ve been a fool to not recognize the eyes of the villain that had tried to kidnap him and Bakugo back at the training camp. He froze, not daring to move, not even daring to speak. What was Dabi doing here? His gaze drifted to the hand Dabi had in Hawks’ hair. It was almost… gentle in a way.
Dabi is touching Hawks.
Dabi has his hand on my mentor.
Hawks is in danger.
Despite the fear that threatened to paralyze him, and the pain from his injuries, Tokoyami took a step forward. “Get away from my mentor, villain.”
Dabi’s eyes widened, but whether it was at being recognized, or Tokoyami challenging him, Tokoyami didn’t know. Instead, the villain’s eyes dropped to Hawks’ unconscious form, the hand moving to stroke the hero’s hair.
Tokoyami faltered. What the hell is going on?
“You’re his intern, right?” Dabi rasped, the man now looking back at Tokoyami. Still, the villain didn’t move from his spot beside Hawks.
Tokoyami stared at Dabi. He slowly nodded, unsure of what the villain wanted. He knew he should’ve left the room and called for help. After all, there was a wanted villain sitting in the room of his mentor like it was something that happened frequently. Yet he didn’t. He couldn’t. There was something going on here that he didn’t understand. Dabi was here for a reason, and Tokoyami was going to find out what reason that was.
“Why are you here.” Tokoyami questioned.
Dabi remained silent; his expression thoughtful. “You were there when he got shot, yes?” Dabi eventually said.
“Yes.” Tokoyami said. “Why do you want to know?”
“Did you see who did it?”
Tokoyami felt his frustration rise the more Dabi dodged his questions. But he had a feeling that if he let that frustration show, Dabi would turn him to ash where he stood. “I did not. We hit the ground. No one’s told me anything about what happened.”
Dabi gave a single nod, finally coming to his feet. The villain reached a hand into his pocket, the movement making Tokoyami tense, ready for a fight. Dabi noticed his stance change and quickly withdrew his hands, holding them in a placating manner. Tokoyami frowned. Was this really the same villain that had attacked them at his class’ training camp? It certainly didn’t seem like it.
He noticed something in Dabi’s hand, realizing it was a phone upon closer inspection. Tokoyami stood still as Dabi approached him, hands still held out. Only once Dabi was right in front of him did Tokoyami look up into the villain’s face. There was something familiar about those eyes of his, but Tokoyami couldn’t recall why.
“Here, kid.” Tokoyami blinked as Dabi held out the phone to him. “Keep it on you. I’ll be in contact.”
“What?” Tokoyami was more confused than ever. Just what exactly was Dabi planning? A portal opened up behind Dabi, the villain making his way towards it. With half his body through the portal, Dabi called over his shoulder at him.
“Don’t tell anyone I was here.”
And then the villain was gone.
What just happened?

This is my entry for @gg9183’s soulmate collab - Oof, I was almost late for your birthday ( I know that I'm technically no where near late, but I put this out so much later than I would've rathered. Sorry, I'm a Virgo, mate.) Anyhoo! Happy Birthday! And congratulations on your amazing Milestone! Thank you for organizing this collab too and allowing me to be apart of it! Honestly, I love soulmate pieces so much, so I was so excited seeing this prompt (I'm excited to read the others as well!) My friend helped me put together an idea for a SM connection and I really enjoyed writing it, hope you do as well :) Happy reading!
Fem!reader x Denki Kaminari
Soulmates au; People are born with a dream realm connecting them to their Soulmate. Warning; harsh language, Hurt/comfort, pretty fluffy, cursing. Implied readerxfemale relationship. BakuKiri relationship (I got bullied last time I didn't say that was a pairing, so, just being safe)
Word count; 4.6K
“Another lonely night in this stupid world.” Y/N grumbled staring up at her dreamy night sky.
A sky she was supposed to share with someone else.
In this wonderful, bittersweet world, you were tied to another person. Destiny decided from day one of your birth who you’d be with for the rest of your life and then set you in a special plane of existence only accessible when you fell asleep, once you turned the ripe age of fifteen. The kindred-plane.
A place specially made for you and your soulmate to meet each night when you fall asleep. It was a place to get to know each other without the prying eyes of all those around. A shared dream land you could even decorate and make your own. It was your partner’s and your safe space.
It was a place you guys could explore together, where your imaginations combined like an amazing world of minecraft. Some people made completely different lives in their heads at night. Others used it to see their long distance lovers. Hell, there was a blog story sharing what sounded like a whole scripted tv show where a woman’s soulmate had set off to save her from an uncompromising kingdom.
Sadly though, your shared safe space could be destroyed in a matter of moments. It wasn’t unheard of for your soulmate to reject destiny’s plan and divide your dreams. You could absolutely reject your soulmate and quite literally lock them out of your dreams. All presence of them would disappear from your dreams within a few nights, sometimes even faster, and you’d be left alone with only your creations.
Of course, being divided from your soulmate hurt. But something hurt much worse.
Your soulmate being unintentionally stolen from you. A divide where you lose your soulmate despite neither saying they’d like to divide. A situation where your soulmate dies.
Y/N sighed at the reminiscent of her once was soulmate. So sweet and kind, someone Y/N fully imagined meeting one day in the daylight. Yet, now at the sad age of seventeen, Y/N had no dreams of ever seeing her soulmate ever again.
She only had the one year of memories they made…
“Class, This Y/N. She will be joining our class for her final year of hero training, treat her well.” Aizawa introduced her to the class of 3-A.
“Thank you, Sensei” Y/N bowed slightly. “Nice to meet you all.”
Not even a moment of silence was granted before the class erupted in questions. Half about her quirk, the other half about where she was from. A few off hand questions about why she transferred. All a mess.
“Enough!” Aizawa shouted, hushing the entire class. “You all can get to know her later, on your own terms. For now, Y/N please take your seat.”
Y/N nodded and scurried back to the only free seat in the back. Between a pretty pinkette and sweet looking round faced brunette. Before she was even seated, Aizawa began his lesson.
Y/N quietly sat through the classes of her day, ignoring the judging looks aimed her way, as the new girl. She could hear the quiet whispers going around, speculating what type of person she was and tried to ignore those as well. She was well aware of the fact that she appeared very off-standish.
Dark eye bags, complete resting bitch face that quite literally screamed ‘I will stab you with a pencil if you speak to me’, earbuds tucked into each ear and a hunched over form that could rival Quasimodo. Thankfully, the aura she set into place actually warded off her new classmates for several days.
Up until a week later in the common room where her bubble was invaded.
She didn’t look up at the person sitting next to her and subtly tried to turn up her music. She felt the presence of several others join her and they all stared at her silently until finally, the pinkette she sat next to on her first day, plucked her book from her hands. Y/N slowly looked up at her dully and raised an eyebrow.
She reached out for her book, but the girl pulled it back out of her reach. She tried again, reaching forwards further, but the book was yoinked by a strip of tape, pulling it across the coffee table. Gritting her teeth slightly, Y/N stood up to reach across the table and the music in her ears paused.
The girl had unplugged her headphones.
“You just have no regard for personal belongings of others, hm?” Y/N sighed, sitting down.
“We just want to get to know our new classmate!” The pink girl grinned. “I’m Mina!”
“Hi, Mina. Now give me back my shit.” Y/N tried to grab her phone, only for someone behind her to tug her ear buds away. “Seriously?”
“We’ll give you back your things if you let us get to know you.” Mina smiled.
“Or, you could just give it back.” Y/N tried to grab her earbuds from the bright blonde behind her.
“Nope.’ He said, a grin on his face as well. “I’m Kaminari Denki, nice to meet ya, beautiful.”
Y/N sighed and rolled her eyes. “Or, I could just take my stuff back.”
“You could but there’s five of us and one of you, good luck.” A bitch faced blonde mumbled, flipping through her book.
“Fine. Here’s one thing about me.” Suddenly she appeared behind the bitch blonde and snatched her book. Another one of her appeared behind the one who taped her book away and grabbed her book mark. Two other Y/N’s came into existence on opposite sides of her seating couch to grab her phone and ear buds. All while the original Y/N sat in her place. “Don’t touch my things.”
“Woah, you can make multiple you’s!” The redhead gasped excitedly. “That’s so manly!”
“That’s so cool! They feel so real!” Kaminari said, poking the side of the one near him. It yelped and swatted his hand.
“They are real! Don’t poke me, I’m ticklish!” Y/N snapped, rubbing her side.
“Woah, can you feel this?’ The tape one reached out to pinch the clone’s arm.
Y/N’s other clone smacked him with her book. “Yes, I can feel that! Ow!”
“So your quirk is duplicating yourself? Boring…” Bitch face rolled his eyes, another Y/N appeared behind him and swatted the back of his head.
“My quirk is omni-replication. I can create continuous versions of myself and others. But they can act on their own.” Y/N sighed, bringing herself her book.
“Woah, make another me!” Kaminari grabbed her arm.
“G-Get off of me!” Y/N shoved him away, ignoring the literal spark between them. “I can’t make one of you now!”
“But you just said-.” Mina tried.
“I have to know your ins and outs. Otherwise I’d just make a weird melty blob of you.” Y/N sighed. “I need to know more about you guys before I can make you. I need to know you, how you fight, how your quirk works, I need to know how to play the game before I can participate.”
“So, what I’m hearing is…” Mina smirked. “You need to get to know us to succeed.”
“Oh god…” Y/N groaned. “I have no choice in this do I?”
“We have a specialty of making friends with people that don’t want to be friends.” The red head threw his arm over bitch face’s shoulder.
And thus a new friendship was born.
“Bakugo, why do you keep moving my pillow in our dreams, it’s so not manly.” Kirishima whined.
“Neither is the massive rock sitting in the middle of nowhere, dude.” Bakugo argued.
“It’s not just a rock.” Kirishima mock sniffled. “It’s a boulder.”
Y/N snickered at the reference that earned the kind redhead a smack to the back of his head. “Are you delivering pizza on it?”
“Yes!” Kiri grinned.
“No! Don’t encourage him!” Bakugo shouted.
“Aye, don’t shout at me. Your boyfriend is a literal rock, he’s encouraging himself.” Y/N laughed, throwing a fry at him.
“Oh yeah, what trash has your soulmate cluttered in your dream world?” Bakugo argued back.
Y/N’s laughter silenced and immediately her lips curled into a scowl. A light switched on and they remembered the one rule they had set in place. No one talks about Y/N’s soulmate. Or lack thereof.
“Bakugo!” Mina snapped.
“Shit, I didn’t-.” Y/N didn’t give him the time to apologize and stood up from the lunch table.
“Wait, no, Y/N! He didn’t mean to!” Kaminari grabbed her arm.
She flicked him in the forehead and pulled away. “No, it’s fine. You guys talk about your soulmate shit, I’m going to the training field.”
“Wait, Y/N, really!” Mina tried. “It’s just, we’re so used to casually talking about it!”
“I don’t care if you guys talk about yours, but you know I don’t have one, so we don’t bring up mine!” She huffed, before taking a breath. “You know what? Never mind.”
Y/N ignored her friend’s protest and stomped out of the dinning hall. She rushed to the training area, stopping by the locker room to change and grab gear, briefly.
Activating her quirk she began fist fighting her clone, taking her anger out on herself. Very early on into her friendship with the group she told them she didn’t want to talk about the soulmate shit. At least not her own. She told them she didn’t have one, leaving them to believe she never did.
They were incredibly understanding after they found that it upset her. So much, to the point that she copied Kirishima to punch himself when he kept asking. After that ordeal and several days of being ignored, they respected her wishes of not bringing it up.
She knocked herself down and punched herself in the face. She turned off the connection to the clone so she wouldn’t feel the pain herself. Disconnected clones only had a few minutes to live really and faded away with enough damage. Once that one faded, she created another in its space and continued pounding away.
“Stupid soulmate bullshit.” She huffed each word with a punch. “Stupid divide rule.” Another clone. “Stupid. Fucking. Erg- Everything!”
Y/N beat her final clone to death and didn’t bring a new one out. She sniffled, the tears she’d been holding back for years now finally breaking her dam. She hated the horrible lonely feeling she had been surrounded by for so long. She missed out on so much sleep, just to avoid going to her dream world. She set alarms to wake her up every hour or so to stay away from it and at this point, she was losing her mind.
She cried more thinking back to the last time she had been in her kindred-plane. She’d avoided it for a few days before exhaustion actually hit her like a bus and made her sleep. This time her plain little dream seemed to have adopted new items in her absence.
A bundle of comic books, a guitar, even a really, really big pikachu plushie.
Not that they were placed anywhere in particular. The guitar was outside of the little home she had reimagined, laying haphazardly on the ground. The pikachu was placed in front of a tree, facing it and the books were strewn across her loveseat couch. It was like her dream realm had become a lost and found for thrown away items from other planes. Which, honestly, Y/N could believe, as she didn’t use it so much.
She wished she could just give away her realm and dream of nothingness.
“Y/N?” She jumped, hearing her name and quickly wiped away her tears, ignoring the way they stung her open knuckles.
“Kaminari, I’m not really in the mood to talk.” Y/N muttered.
“Okay, that’s fine. We both know I talk enough for the both of us.” He joked, coming to sit in front of her.
Y/N turned to look away from his seating and ignored him, but he set off into a spiel about a new game he got. He did what he did best when one of his friends were upset, he talked. And normally that worked, but minutes into his yabbering, she started crying again.
“Hey, no! No crying! Crying is sad!” Kaminari tried.
“I am sad Kami!” She snapped. “I am really fucking sad! Everyone gets to have stupid fucking soulmate but me! And all because mine fucking died!”
Kaminari immediately paused his frantic attempts to calm her. “Huh, I thought you said you didn’t have one?”
“I don’t because she died! My god damn soulmate died literally months after meeting each other damn it!” Y/N yelled, sinking her fingers into her hair. “And now my kindred-plane is empty and lonely and shit keeps getting piled into it like a fucking trash can!”
Kaminari was silent for a moment while she cried. He slowly crawled over, closer to her and pulled her into a hug. This wasn’t a moment for talking randomly and he knew that. So they sat for the rest of the lunch period in silence, save for her soft hiccups.
After that, somehow, Y/N started talking to her friends the next day. She rationalized that it wasn’t their fault she was sensitive about the subject, they didn’t deserve the aggression. So with a tense apology, she was back to sitting with them at lunch and hanging out.
Y/N was determined to not let her disrupted dreamland destroy her outside reality.
“Okay, really?” Y/N blinked at the ugly rug that appeared draped over her bookshelf. “How the hell did you even get there?”
She tugged it down and stared at it in disgusted contemplation. “Guess you get to go in front of the fireplace…”
Y/N walked towards the warmth and paused, noting that it felt like it took a few more steps than usual. She looked around and found that the picture she carefully centered on the wall was no longer centered. Was her house getting bigger? More and more shit was popping up out of nowhere and her place felt spaceyer…
“What the actual fuck universe?” Y/N furrowed her eyebrows and laid down the new rug.
An odd whooshing noise sounded behind her and she turned around to see a lamp fizzled into existence, a hand accompanying it this time. Y/N fumbled over own feet trying to hurry and grab it. Someone was putting shit in her realm and she was about to find out who.
Actually she wasn’t.
The moment she grabbed the hovering wrist, it was like she had rubbed her socks across her new rug a million times and then touched an outlet. The hand shocked her, hard. She yelped and fell backwards on her butt, accidently taking the lamp down too, except when it fell apart it fell backwards toward the floating hand and disappeared from her plane.
Y/N gasped sitting up out of her bed, the shock kicking her out of her own dream. “Ow, what the hell?”
Y/N looked over at her clock, finding that it was five in the morning. She sighed and climbed out of her bed, grabbing her ear buds and phone. There was no school the next day, it was Saturday so she aimed to sneak down to the common room and spend her day dead on the couch, fighting off sleep again.
Not ten minutes after snuggling into a comfy spot on the couch, it dipped slowly as someone sat on the other end of it. She looked up from her book, to find Kaminari on the other end. He held up a bag of doritos in exchange for her company.
“What are you doing up?” She asked, pulling out her ear buds.
“Got startled awake by something in my dream world.” He answered, holding the bag out to her.
“Ah, that sucks.” She hummed apologetically.
“What about you?” He asked carefully.
Y/N snorted. “Kami, you know I don’t sleep.”
“Yeah, I know, but you’ve been up for the past few days.” He sighed, remembering seeing her in the kitchen at three am. “You’re going to trash your health if you don’t sleep.”
“Eh, it’s alright.” She crunched on a chip, before yawning. “Plus, you stay up every night gaming, bite me.”
“Gladly.” He winked. “But seriously, a lonely dream realm can’t be all bad.”
She raised an eyebrow at him, wondering if he was going to continue this topic of conversation. And he did. “I mean mine’s pretty lonely and I think it’s alright.”
“What?” She furrowed his eyebrows.
“My kindred-plane has but just me since like, forever, and I don’t think it’s that bad.” He shrugged.
Kaminari didn’t have a soulmate? That didn’t make sense, he’d tell them about all the adventures he’d run on in his dream. “You said you were helping some Jill girl fight zombies and stuff, just the other day.”
“Yeah, Jill Valentine. From Resident Evil.” He laughed. “I figured out a long time ago that I could just make her up in my dreams if I played the game until I fell asleep. She’s not my soulmate-.”
“You don’t have one…” Y/N whispered, sitting up.
“Nope, never did.” He offered her more chips, but Y/N just looked at him with sad eyes.
She cried in his arms about her soulmate dying and it turned out he never had one in the first place. “Don’t look so sad, Sunshine. It’s okay.”
“Denki, you don’t have a soulmate. That shit sucks.” Y/N flailed her hands.
“Yeah, but at least I didn’t get attached to mine and then they died. That sucks even more.” Kaminari argued.
Y/N slumped back against the couch. “This soulmate business is quite literal shit.”
“Yeah, but other people are pretty happy with it, so it’s okay to me really.” Kaminari hummed, nonchalantly. “Plus, no one can yell at me for my taste in decorations. That can really make or break a relationship ya know.”
Y/N laughed. “Oh yeah, totally. If my soulmate tried to decorate our space with half the shit that seems to appear in my room I’d have to throw hands.”
“Stuff appears in your dream?” Kaminari asked. “What, like, someone’s statue of Scooby doo?”
“Kaminari Denki, please tell me you don’t have a statue of Scooby doo in your kindred.” She tried not to laugh.
“No!” He said quickly. “I have a statue of Scrappy Doo.”
“Oh my god, no, you don’t!” She gasped.
“Yep! There’s a pond in front of my house and he’s in the dead center of it.” He grinned proudly. “And he looks amazing there.”
“Oh I bet he does.” Y/N snickered. “Bet he pulls the whole place together.”
“As a matter of fact he does.” Kaminari declared smugly. “What about your plane? What’s one big special thing you’ve got in it?”
Y/N hummed and thought for a second. “There’s a really big oak tree just behind my house and it’s covered in string lights, with a small ladder up the trunk. There’s a flat area in some of the branches so I can sit up there and read.”
“That sounds beautiful.” Kaminari said, fondly. “I have a tree kind of like that in mine too.”
“Does yours have a massive Pikachu in front of it?” She taunted, laughing.
She just barely missed the furrowing of his eyebrows before he answered. “I’m not entirely sure, I think, I’d have to take a look. I hope I do though, otherwise, I’d have to come steal yours.”
“Absolutely not! He’s my friend!” Y/N gasped and shoved at his leg. “Stick with your Scrappy Doo statue.”
Kaminari smiled. “Fine, fine. But if I don’t have a Pikachu in my dream, you owe me.”
“Mmhm, sure.” Y/N grinned.
For the next few months, Y/N and Kaminari grew closer, having bonded over their lack of soulmates. While they grew closer, not only did Y/N become happier, her kindred-plane seemed to get brighter, despite all the random things finding purchase in her realm and the fact that it was still growing. It was nice, she didn’t hate spending the night there anymore. She didn’t run into the disembodied hand anymore, but that was okay.
With what was happening in reality, she wasn’t too bothered by her dreams anymore. Instead, she focused on her friends, they were a wonderful reminder that life didn’t go to complete shit. For the first time, she actually let these people get close to her and drag her out of her hole she kept herself in.
… And out into the living room to watch the boys yell at each other over Mario Kart.
Y/N cursed and pushed Kaminari’s face away from her own as he laved his tongue across her cheek. “Denki, I swear to god if you don’t stop licking me, I’m going to bite you!”
“Ooh! Promise?” He flirted, smirking. “What else are you gonna do with that mouth?”
“Hurt your feelings, Sparkler boy.” She laughed, squishing his cheeks.
Kaminari threw himself into her arms, taking her to the floor. “So mean, I thought you loved me!”
“Oh yeah, she totally loves you with the way she made you beat yourself up today.” Bakugo snickered.
“Yeah, dude, she used your quirk against you better than you.” Kirishima pipped up.
“Hey, hey, clones don’t get fried when they use their ultimate! They just disappear and another one pops up!” Kaminari argued in defense.
“Jesus, Denki, you’re heavy!” Y/N shoved at his body, half heartedly. “Get off, you loser.”
“Uhg, fine, only because I have a race to win.” He rolled off her, to grab his switch controller.
“Oh thank god, I was going into the light for a second there.” Y/N gasped, dramatically.
Kaminari pinched her leg in retaliation. “Hey, I’m not that heavy!”
“Your head is though.” She stuck her tongue out.
“So mean.” He pouted as she turned to lay her head in his lap.
Y/N giggled as she pulled out her phone, to scroll through Tumblr for a fic to read. Moments went by before a snapchat notification popped up. Tapping on it, she found a common message from Mina.
‘You guys are too cute.’- Pinkiepie
‘We’re just friends, Mi.’-Y/N
A snap picture appeared in their feed and she tapped it open. There she was laying in Kaminari’s lap and there he was looking down at her, sweetly. ‘He’s giving you major heart eyes.’- Pinkiepie
‘Stop taking pictures of people, it’s stalkery.’- Y/N
‘That’s why you took a ss.’ -Pinkiepie
‘Oh fuck off.’- Y/N
‘Oh come on, just give him a chance, neither of you have sm’s so your not stealing him from anyone.’- Pinkiepie
‘You’re*’- Y/N
Y/N sighed and looked up to Kaminari’s face above hers. It apparently hadn’t been uncommon knowledge that Kaminari was Soulmateless, probably why the group had been so confused as to why she was so upset about it. It was normal to them, because it had always been Kaminari’s story.
Would it be so bad to make her own soulmate? Most divided soulmates stayed by themselves for the rest of their lives, but would it be alright if they didn’t?
“Oh, guys! I meant to tell you; I think I actually do have a soulmate!” Kaminari blurted into the air.
His admission quite literally derailed the entire room. Bakugo drove off the map in Mario Kart, Kirishima completely looked away from the game and Mina choked on her spit and her eyes flew to Y/N who paled significantly.
Sero was the only one who appeared unaffected. “Guys, he’s probably just saying that to throw us off, he’s in last.”
“I’m gonna blow you up, you put me in fourth with your little stunt.” Bakugo threatened.
“No, I’m serious!” Kaminari argued. “Over the last few months my dreams have been changing and stuff. Like it was making room for another person. My house is super spacy now, new decorations have been showing up for no reason, like there was a vase of flowers on the floor near my door, and my curtains changed colour, they’re a cute lavender colour now. Plus there’s a really big pikachu next to a beautiful oak tree in my yard.”
“Woah, dude, really?” Kirishima paused the race and turned to his friend.
“Yeah, totally.” Kaminari nodded, subtly looking down to meet Y/N’s wide eyes. “I was super confused for a while.”
“Holy shit, you’re serious.” Sero laughed. “Have you met them yet? Or are they just leaving surprises for you?”
“Well, I’ve seen her a few times, but I haven’t got the chance to talk to her yet, she wakes up pretty fast.” Kaminari shrugged.
“That’s so good Denki, I’m so happy for you.” Mina said softly as Y/N sat up.
“Me too, Denks. But speaking of waking up, I’m tired, so I’m gonna go take a nap.” Y/N hummed, yawning.
“Okay, see you later, Y/N.” They all chimed as she walked away.
“Yeah, see you later.” Kaminari called, carefully.
Y/N tried her best to contain herself and all but ran to her dorm. Along the way, her phone buzzed, no doubt a message from Mina. Once she was in her room, she flew to her bed, never had she been so eager to fall asleep before.
She quickly responded to Mina, ensuring her that she was alright and actually wanted to sleep. Y/N even sent her a reassuring picture of her smile with a short caption ‘I’m off to go see a Pikachu.’ After that, it didn’t take long for her to fall asleep, but it was too long.
Y/N blinked open her eyes, finally appearing in her kindred-plane and spun around, trying to identify things in her dream house. She hurried to open the door and looked over to her tree, with the ever so famous Pikachu there. She turned and jogged in the opposite direction for the one thing she needed to see to make sure she was correct.
There it was. Scrappy Doo. In the middle of her pond.
Y/N jumped up and down, squealing to herself. It was happening, oh my god, it was happening. Now she just had to wait.
And wait she did. She had run back to her tree and climbed up to sit and await her soulmate. The soulmate she actually had again. Someone to share her dream world with again.
She had a soulmate.
Quietly for the next hour, Y/N sat and read one of her books, waiting almost patiently for him. She’d made it through the third chapter when a voice startled her away from the pages.
“Sorry, I couldn’t fall asleep for the life of me.” Kaminari said, smiling.
Y/N bit her lip and grinned. “I thought you missed my cue for a bit there."
"No, I was just a little too excited to fall asleep." He crawled up into her tree nook. "You see, I suddenly got a new person roaming my world almost like, uh, a forever person or something. What's it called?"
"Mm, I don't know. Kinda sounds like you've got a soulmate there, Denki." Y/N whispered as he came closer.
"Fucking finally." He muttered, leaning forwards to connect their lips.
But before he could make contact he ran into her hand first. “But, really, we are going to have to talk about your decorating choices.”
“Yeah, yeah, we can talk about that after this.” Kaminari chuckled and moved her hand to kiss her.

(If the ending seems rushed it's because it is, I was tired of looking at it. This has been on my drafts for a while.)
@messedupmoon
It took Danny about half an hour before he could admit it to himself: he was totally lost.
"I thought you said you knew where he was!" He hissed quietly at the kwami in his hair.
"I do," Huginn said, "He's somewhere in Paris."
"You are the worst kwami ever. Paris is huge!"
"I could have said he was somewhere in France."
Danny made a frustrated sound as he pulled out a paper map, not trusting Google to give him the proper directions. As he did so he failed to notice the other person running towards him.
"So I think if we just-oof!"
He collided into someone else and they both went sprawling on the cobblestone. Danny's hand flew up to his hair, making sure Huginn was there and wasn't sent flying where people could see him.
(They weren't careful enough in Amity one day and his parents are more convinced than ever that Phantom is a ghost. He really didn't want to send Paris into a panic of something similar.)
The other teen groaned as he lay on the cobblestone, a look of resignation on his face.
Danny scrambled to his feet and went to help him up, "I am so sorry! Lo siento-nope, that's Spanish. Wait what's french for sorry?"
"Désolé."
Danny blinked, and focused on the guy that grabbed his outstretched hand. He grinned as Danny pulled him to his feet.
"Je suis désolé is what you are looking for. But you could always just say it in English."
Danny flushed, "Yeah, sorry. I wasn't looking where I was going."
He waved him off, "I am sorry as well. I was not looking either. My name is Adrien."
"Danny." Danny looked at the crumpled and slightly torn map, "Uh, would you be willing to help me with directions?"
"Oui. One of the tourist attractions? A hotel?"
"No, not a tourist." Adrien shot him a questioning look. "No really! I'm looking for this guy. I have this….problem I'm hoping he could help me with."
"Where does he live?"
"I don't know."
Adrien raised an eyebrow.
Danny huffed. "All I know is his name is Wang Fu and he owns, like, a tea shop or something in Paris. My source was rather useless when it came to directions." He winced as Huginn pulled at his hair in retaliation.
Danny saw that Adrien was giving him a funny look. "I know I'm making like no sense but I already tried Google and all it did was take me to the Eiffel Tower and I don't have the name of his shop cause my source hasn't been to Paris in forever-"
Danny groaned into his hands.
Adrien was silent for a moment, and then he said, "I think I know who you are talking about."
Danny peeked through his fingers to see Adrien making a thoughtful face. Adrien grinned at him. “You are lucky. Master Fu is my Chinese tutor. I would be happy to show you his shop.”
Danny stared at him, hands dropping from his face. “You’re serious? Don’t you have somewhere else to be?”
“Oui,” Adrien shrugged, “My Chinese lessons."
Danny let out a surprised laugh, “Talk about good luck!”
Adrien snorted, “Good luck tends to avoid me these days.”
“Oh you got a case of Murphy’s Law too?”
“Sans aucun doute,” he replied wearily.
Danny had no idea what Adrien just said, but he could relate.
It was only a ten minute walk to Fu’s shop, in which Adrien and Danny had spent making small talk. It was pretty cool to chat with a local who was happy to tell him all about the hidden spots in Paris.
Danny really wasn’t here for sightseeing, and he had to go home in a couple days, but it was still cool.
“-and if you are ever caught in an akuma attack, I find alleys are a good way to stay clear of the damage.”
Danny blinked, “Akumas?”
Adrien gave him a curious look, “Yes, Hawkmoth’s akumas. You should have been informed of that when you came into the city. They give out booklets.”
“....I’m not very good at listening.” Danny could feel Huginn laughing silently in his hair. “That sounds like a supervillain.”
“It is a supervillain who takes someone experiencing negative emotions and turns them into a rampaging monster with a butterfly called an akuma so he can steal the miraculous of Ladybug and Chat Noir.”
Danny blinked incredulously. At least Huginn was right in the fact that Paris would have the answers they were looking for. If Wang Fu didn’t have anything to offer, maybe he could find Paris’s resident heroes for some answers. Looking around, he didn’t notice any damage similar to his own fights.
“And here we are!” Adrien gestured to the almost hidden massage parlor.
The two of them walked into the shop, the bell above the door announcing their arrival. “Un moment!”
Danny shivered with his kwami as the two of them felt the magic in the air wrap around them.
“Bon après-midi, Sensei!” Adrien called back, “J'ai amené un ami.”
“Un ami?”
Wang Fu himself was very short in person, and gave Danny a very confused look as he walked into the backroom beside Adrien.
“Um, hello sir.” Danny waved awkwardly, mentally trying to figure out how to get Adrien away long enough to talk about his miraculous problem.
Huginn solved that problem by jumping right to it, almost literally. Adrien gave a squawk of surprise as the small black kwami flew out of Danny’s hair and up to Fu. “You are the last guardian correct?”
“Huginn!” Danny hissed.
“We need your help.” Huginn continued regardless of Danny stressing out behind him. “Something went wrong with the miraculous.”
“Umm….” Adrien was looking between Danny and Huginn with wide eyes.
Fu looked curious and somewhat baffled himself. “A crow miraculous? I had thought the Miraculous of Passageways and Death was nothing but a myth.”
Danny threw up his hands. “Oh sure! Let’s just forgo any sense of secret identities, it’s not like my enemies are trying to kill me or anything.”
“You are a Miraculous holder?” Adrien asked, looking like he got hit over the head.
“More or less,” Danny muttered. He sighed heavily before lifting his bangs.
Wang Fu muttered something that had Adrien flushing as he reached up to look at the scars on Danny’s forehead. “My miraculous fused to my head.”
“And I thought my kid had bad luck!” Another black kwami flew up to poke at him.
“Plagg!”
“I see we’re outing all the identities today.” Huginn said, “Is Hawkmoth next?”
Danny smiled at Adrien, “Hey! Same hat!”

Omega!Naruto - Family Night
Now I’m so curious as to what a typical family night would entail with the boys! When the kids are pretty young and they finally have some time off and their alpha also has some time off to spend together? 👉🏻👈🏻with house husband itachi because that is the only way><
I assume you want the Naruto boys, I’m going to post them one at a time, so I can keep active this week. Up first is Naruto!
Warnings: Mpreg (implied)
Tumblr media
Naruto:
As Hokage, it was rare for Naruto to get a full day off without some emergency calling him back to work, but today he had left Shikamaru in charge, (against his will), so that he could come home to spend the evening with you and his children.
And what better way to spend time together than with a board game!
Naruto picked up a simple board game (suitable for younger children) on his way home, knowing that you had sorted out the snacks last night.
“I’m home!” Naruto calls out, shuffling through the front door with the new game and a couple of stacks of paperwork in hand.
“Daddy!” He heard his eldest son shout, followed by the sound of little footsteps sprinting towards the door.
Naruto put the bags on the floor in preparation, crouching down and holding out his arms as his son flew around the corner with a huge grin on his face.
“Oof,” Naruto had the wind knocked out of him as his son barrelled straight into his chest. He stood up, holding his son tightly in his arms.
“You’re getting so big now!” Naruto exclaimed, over dramatically wheezing as his son giggled. “Can’t believe you’re already nine, soon I won’t be able to pick you up anymore!”
His son gasped and tightened his arms around Naruto’s neck.
“No, I always want daddy to pick me up.”
“Hmm,” Naruto hummed thoughtfully. “I suppose daddy’s just going to have to train more so he can keep doing it then, huh?”
His son nodded furiously. “Yes, daddy, I think that’s a good idea.” He then nuzzled his face into Naruto’s shoulder, taking a deep breath of his father’s scent and purring gently. Naruto purred back, pressing a kiss onto his son’s head.
At that moment, you rounded the corner, a one-year-old twin in each arm, smiling tiredly at him.
“Looks like someone is trying to get out of doing their homework again,” you teased your son. “You know we aren’t playing the board game until all homework is done.”
Your son huffed but wiggled his way out of Naruto’s embrace and made his way back to the kitchen table to join his sister to finish his homework.
You and Naruto both laughed gently at his antics, before moving to embrace each other, careful not to crush the twins.
“Missed you,” you murmured.
“Missed you, too,” he responded.
You stayed like that for a few seconds, just enjoying each other’s warmth, before one of the twins reached up and yanked Naruto’s hair.
Naruto swore lightly under his breath, before trying to remove the tiny hand clenched in his hair. Both twins were giggling at his struggle. You suppressed your own laughter.
“I told you these two are going to be trouble,” you laughed.
“Yeah,” Naruto grumbled, rubbing the sore spot on his head, “I can see what you mean.”
“Daddy!” came a voice from the kitchen, “Can you come here, please?”
“Oh,” you remembered. “She wants you to proofread her homework before she gives it in on Monday.”
Naruto nodded. “I can do that. Coming!”
Naruto headed into the kitchen, where his oldest children were working on homework. It looked like his son was working on maths homework from his civilian school, while his daughter was writing about the history of the Shinobi nations for the Academy.
“Can you read this please?” his daughter asked, shoving a piece of paper in his face.
Naruto slipped into the chair beside her and picked up the document to read. He felt his eyebrows raise up the more he read. It always astounded him how good his daughter was at history.
“How is it?” she asked, fidgeting with her fingers a little.
“Honestly?” he started, “Better than most of the mission reports I have to read. Good job!” He praised her, ruffling her hair.
She grinned at him, carefully rolling the paper up and slipping it into her school bag.
“How was your day at school today?”
“Great!” His daughter exclaimed. “Uncle Sasuke’s daughter beat up this boy in the playground for pulling her hair! It was awesome!”
Naruto snorted, not surprised in the slightest.
“Sounds like fun,” he laughed. “Why don’t you go and help set up for game night while I finish up the homework with your brother?”
Once all the homework was complete, everyone settled down on the living room floor, surrounded by plenty of snacks.
The twins had been put to bed, and now you, Naruto and your two oldest children were ready to play the game.
Your son had dragged half of his nest with him, laying blankets and pillows down next to Naruto before climbing onto his father’s lap and refusing to sit anywhere else.
Seeing as they were sitting together, you decided to play in teams; Naruto and your son vs you and you daughter.
The game was fiercely competitive. Well, your son was a lot more focused on getting cuddles from Naruto, but everyone else was very invested!
In the end, you and you daughter won! Her excellent strategic skills coming in handy!
It was late by the time the game had finished, and everyone, stuffed with junk food, was starting to get sleepy.
You left to check in the twins in the nursery while Naruto tucked your other children into bed.
His daughter always wanted to talk more about her day before bed, so Naruto sat on her bed, gently stroking her hair while she talked about her day.
“-and then I said he was being stupid, and I got sent out into the hall! Which wasn’t fair because he was being an idiot.”
Naruto nodded, still listening with full attention. He always enjoyed the faces of his shinobi when they realised he knew every bit of academy gossip. Those with children in the academy could guarantee that Naruto knew more about what they did there, than they did.
“-and then you came home, so you know the rest.”
“Sounds like an eventful day,” Naruto laughed gently. “I’m very proud of you for working so hard on your homework today. Maybe try not to get kicked out of class again though.”
“Iruka sensei said that you didn’t even come to class most the time.”
Naruto choked on nothing, flushing pink. “Well… Iruka sensei is exaggerating a bit, but school is very important okay?”
“Okay, daddy,” she whispered, eyes already closing.
“Good girl, sweet dreams.”
Naruto left the room quietly, leaving her door open a crack, before heading to his son’s room. His son was already ready for bed, sitting patiently, waiting for him to come and tuck him in.
“Hey, buddy,” Naruto whispered, stepping fully into the room. “Ready for bed?”
“Yep, but,” he hesitated. “I don’t want to go to bed yet.”
Naruto frowned slightly, moving to sit on his bed with him.
“Why not? You not tired yet?”
His son shook his head, playing with one of the many blankets on his bed.
“Then why?” Naruto asked gently, stroking his son’s head.
His son didn’t answer but climbed onto Naruto’s lap.
“Will you be here when I wake up?” he asked, voice muffled into Naruto’s shoulder.
Naruto sighed sadly. “I have to go to work, my sweet boy, I’m sorry.”
His son started to cry and sniffle into Naruto’s shoulder. Naruto’s heart broke more and more with every sob/
“Shh, shh,” he hushed him, rocking him slightly and purring to try and calm him down. “Please don’t cry…”
“Don’t want you to go!” His son wailed, gripping tightly onto Naruto’s shirt.
“Shh, shh, calm down, I’m right here,” Naruto tried desperately to soothe his son. “You don’t have school tomorrow, right?”
His son nodded.
“How about you come and spend lunch with me, yes? You could go and grab some ramen and bring it to my office and we can have lunch?” Naruto offered, desperately hoping it was enough to calm him down.
His son considered the offer for a moment, before slowly nodding once again.
Naruto let out a sigh of relief.
“There we go,” Naruto settled his son back into bed. “I’ll see you tomorrow at lunch, okay, don’t forget!”
“I’ll never forget, daddy!”
Naruto smiled proudly at him. “I know you wouldn’t.”
Naruto leaned down for one last cuddle, scenting a cuddly toy for his son, before leaving his room with a soft ‘Goodnight’.
You were standing right outside the door, obviously having heard the previous conversation. You gestured for him to follow you back into the living room. Naruto slumped onto the sofa, head in his hands.
“It’s not your fault, Naruto,” you whispered to him, sitting beside him and taking him into your arms.
Naruto laughed bitterly. “It feels like it is. He shouldn’t have to miss his own father that much; I should be here.”
“You are here,” you disagreed, rubbing circles on his back. “You’re doing as much as you can, and as long as you keep joining us for family nights and having lunch together, no one can accuse you of not loving your family enough.”
Naruto let out a breath, sagging like a puppet with cut strings. “Sorry, it’s just hard sometimes. I can’t stand it when he cries for me, it makes me feel awful.”
“I know, baby, I know.”
“I don’t want him to grow up without me, he’s already so big, I feel like I’ve missed so much.”
“You haven’t, baby, I promise. They all look up to you and love you so much.”
“Yeah…” Naruto leaned back fully into your embrace, feeling a little better. “I guess…”
“Come on, I think we should both get some sleep before the twins decide it’s play time again.”
Naruto whined in disagreement. “Let’s cuddle here for a bit longer.”
You laughed at his dramatics, but agreed, pulling him firmly into your arms, and settling onto the sofa. Naruto pulled a blanket from the arm and laid it over you both.
“This is nice,” he purred, pressing a few kisses to your neck.
“Yeah, it is,” you tightened your grip around him slightly. “Relax as best as you can, baby, you deserve it.”

Remedy For A Broken Heart (Published:  08/15/2021)
Pairing: Platonic only, characters: Gojo, Yuuji, and Megumi
Fandom: Jujutsu Kaisen
Trigger Warning: None, though technically contains a break-up and non-consensual tickling though it's all in good fun.
Length: 1595 Words, 1 Chapter. Completed.
Summary: Yuuji's heart got broken by some chick at school and absolutely refuses to go to class. Megumi takes it into his own hands to get the strawberry blond happy again by calling Gojo-sensei who has some... talented tickling fingers.
------------------------------------ Megumi sighed as he stared down at the miserable sight below him. Yuuji was curled up in his bed with the covers over himself, completely ignoring the world. There were tissues littering the bed with tubs of empty ice cream on the nightstand. There was only one explanation for a sight like this.
Yuuji… got his heart broken.
“Yuuji,” Megumi sighed once more, pulling off the covers, “I know your heart is broken and the world seems to be ending, but you still have classes.”
“No!” Yuuji grumbled, pulling the covers back over his head with a yank, “tell them I'm sick or something.”
Megumi rolled his eyes, “Yuuji, it’ll be a good distraction.”
Yuuji only curled further into his bed, completely ignoring the boy. Megumi had never seen Yuuji this depressed before. It honestly concerned him. He placed his chin in his hand, his other on his hip as he took a moment to come up with an idea. What could possibly cheer up Yuuji? Talking about girls wouldn’t help, it’d only remind him of his loss. Maybe ice cream? No, the poor boy has had enough. A movie? No, he wouldn’t focus.
His mind raced with ideas until bingo, he had it. He smirked slightly as he folded his arms over his chest, “alright. Suit yourself.” He took his phone out of his pocket, dialing his emergency cheer up number. He knew it was going to work because Yuuji had done the exact same thing when Megumi was feeling down.
He grinned slightly as the familiar voice answered, “hello?”
“Gojo-sensei, I apologize for bothering you so close to class…,” Megumi began. He always felt a little bad for calling Gojo for anything that seemed minor.
“Hey, don’t worry about it, I'm here to help! What can I do for you?”
“Well, Yuuji got his heart broken so he refuses to go to class, so I was wondering if you could-” Megumi hadn’t gotten most of the words out when Gojo suddenly hung up. “H-Hello? Gojo?”
Megumi lowered his phone, looking at the ID in confusion, about to redial Gojo’s number when suddenly, their dorm room door was blown off of it’s hitches, hitting the wall with a hard impact.
“AYO I HEARD SOMEONE WAS SAD IN HERE,” A voice yelled and Megumi immediately realized what happened. Gojo had kicked down the door.
“Gojo-'' Megumi started, anger evident in his voice, but he was interrupted by Yuuji suddenly perking up, frightened by the sound of their door crumbling down.
He blinked. He glanced at Megumi, then glanced at Gojo.
And then he realized exactly what they had planned.
Megumi couldn’t help but smirk as he saw Yuuji suddenly remember that the last time Megumi was sad, he had called Gojo over and the two of them practically tickled him to death, making his sadness go away. Megumi had sworn revenge ever since that day. Today was a perfect opportunity.
“W-Wait,” Yuuji began, sinking back underneath his covers as Gojo’s eyes narrowed at him, “w-wait, there’s been a mistake, I’m-”
Gojo was making a beeline to him now.
“W-WAIT, I’m fine! Gojo, I’m- eheh !” Giggles were already catching in his throat, bringing a smile to Megumi’s face.
“Nurse, hold him down!” Gojo ordered. Megumi immediately obeyed, though cringed at being called a nurse. He held Yuuji down by his arms while Gojo yanked his covers away.
“N-N-NO! I’m fine, Gojo, I’m good!” Yuuji stammered, panicking before turning his gaze to Megumi, giving him his finest death glare, “why did you call him, you traitor?!”
“Revenge,” Megumi said.
“How?! You needed that and you know you did!”
“Well, you also need this so…,” Megumi shrugged, “point denied.”
Gojo hummed in thought as he straddled Yuuji, looking at him and thought, “hmm, I see, I see. I can see the sadness is located here,” he poked at Yuuji’s chest, right where his heart was, “we will need to prepare for an emergency tickle session.”
“Yes doctor,” Megumi nodded, falling into the scene Gojo was creating.
Yuuji only looked at them both as if they were idiots, “the fuck is wrong with you two? Can you please let me just be sad in peace, it’s okay to be sad every now and then- it’s healthy!”
“See, now that’s a symptom of extreme sadness, which means you’re too far gone,” Gojo said seriously, shaking his head. “He’s worse than I thought. Are you ready, nurse?”
“Yes doctor.”
“Can you two at least not be weird about this?!” Yuuji complained once more but Gojo ignored him, rubbing his hands together as if he was about to use a defibrillator on him.
“Clear!” He shouted before placing his hands on Yuuji’s sides and wiggling his fingers about.
The effect was immediate. Yuuji squirmed and thrashed about, forcing Megumi to hold on tighter, keeping him pressed on the bed as laughter filtered out of his mouth. “GAHAHA-! Nohohohohoho!! Staaahap! Staahp!” He giggled, trying with all his might to buck Gojo off, but the teacher was unfortunately too heavy.
“Seems like the medicine is working, nurse,” Gojo said, a hint of a smile on his lips as he continued his attack, “perhaps we should administer it to all locations of depression.”
“I agree, doctor,” Megumi smiled, nodding as he watched Yuuji smile with glee, despite the fact that his happiness was somewhat forced right now.
“I think I can see this being a huge problem area,” Gojo said, digging his fingers into Yuuji’s ribs, making him cackle with laughter, “oh yes, this whole area is pretty bad.”
“P-Pleehehehese,” Yuuji wheezed out, gasping for air as Gojo continued his treatment, “I cahahan’t breeeeathe!”
“Oof,” was all Gojo responded with.
“Gojo!!!”
“Well are you not sad yet?” He asked, halting his fingers for just a moment.
“I’m more pissed off than anything,” Yuuji grumbled, panting and glaring at his teacher.
His teacher only raised an eyebrow before thrusting his hands underneath Yuuji’s shirt, his fingers scribbling against Yuuji’s sensitive skin, making him howl with laughter. “NOOOAHAHA! Y-YOU BASTARD!”
“Nurse, he’s becoming critical!” Gojo grinned. “I need a hand stat!”
Megumi smirked, immediately catching on to what Gojo meant, “yes doctor!”
Yuuji caught the look in his eyes, squirming more vigorously in attempt to get away, “oh no, no you don’t, no you fucking don’t, don’t you da- PFFFAAHAHAHA!!” he erupted with laughter, the sound turning into a wheeze as Megumi, wiggling his fingers around his armpits, stimulating the sensitive nerves there. He had his knees pressed down on Yuuji’s hands, preventing him from moving his arms and keeping him vulnerable.
“T-T-T-This is t-t-torture, ahaha!” Yuuji wheezed, the words barely audible.
“It’s called medicine, actually,” Gojo said, “thought I guess depending on the medicine, it is torture.”
“Y-Y-You’re - ahahaha! - b-both - heh - s-stupid,” Yuuji giggled, his words distorted. Gojo and Megumi both only smiled down at him.
“Sorry, what was that?” Gojo smirked
“Aahahasshole!”
“Are you going to stop being sad?” Megumi asked, digging his fingers into Yuuji’s sensitive nerves, gently moving them to his neck, scribbling underneath his chin. “Are you going to get out of bed, make yourself happy and go to class?”
“Y-You cahahahan’t just autaha-automaahatically make sohohomeone hahappy!” He whimpered, trying with all his might to yeet them off but having no luck. He simply just had to lay there, as their fingers sparked up giggle after giggle. It was so unfair.
But finally, after a while, Megumi and Gojo both slowed to a stop. Yuuji made a breathless giggle, his eyes wet with happy tears as he blinked a few times before glancing at them both, confused, “Y-You… finally stopped?”
“Depends. Did we cure the sadness?” Gojo asked with a smile.
“If I say yes, will you guys sto- AHAHA!! WHA- HEY?!” Yuuji glared at the sudden tickling done by Megumi. He only smirked, a twinkle of mischief in his eyes.
“Just making sure you know we can keep going with this treatment all night long,” Megumi said.
“Yes,” Gojo nods, “I am the top rated doctor in the nation, I don’t let my patients leave when I know they need more treatment.”
“I hate you both.”
Megumi chuckled and rolled his eyes, “come on, Yuuji. I know it’s rough, but you can’t stay like this.”
Yuuji sighed, finally letting himself lose the sad attitude. He was sad that he got dumped but to be honest, he didn’t really like the girl anyway. It just hurt his ego more than anything. He slowly nodded, “okay, I’m fine.”
“Is that the honest truth?” Megumi asked, moving his fingers slowly in a silent threat.
“Yes!” Yuuji said, “It is, I swear.”
Gojo and Megumi exchanged a look of doubt before finally nodding. “Okay,” Gojo shrugged, “we believe you. Now we can go get you ice cream.”
“Eh? Ice cream?” Yuuji said, instantly perking up from that.
“You know how doctors give their patients lollipops at the end of their treatment? I don’t have any lollipops so… ice cream,” Gojo said, getting up off of the poor young boy, Megumi quickly following him.
“You know if you just gave me ice cream first, I would’ve been easily healed,” Yuuji said, rolling his eyes as he sat up.
“You’ve been eating ice cream all day with that same sulky look in your eyes, ice cream wouldn’t have the same effect as it will now,” Megumi said, smiling softly as Gojo nodded, completely agreeing with him while Yuuji glared.
“Again, I hate you both,” he pouted.
“Yes we know. Now, where do you want your ice cream?”

One Quiet Night|| Megumi Fushiguro
Tumblr media
A/N: I love him and I miss him so here’s this. Also I swear I do not plan this but all of my jjk fics take place at night I did not intend this but here we are.
Word count: 420
Tumblr media
Megumi was never the type to be very physically affectionate. His acts of physical affection were by no means rare but they were never as intimate as this. Lying here, scrolling through social media while he tied your hair up for you.
You more than trusted him with your hair, after all, you were the one to teach him how to do it. As such, when he finally finishes and puts your bonnet on for you, you pull him to you and without thinking give him a kiss that expressed the gratitude you were too tired to verbalize.
When you pulled back, he smiled, casually at first before completely beaming. He kissed your forehead and left to go wash his hands off, promising that he’d be back before you could even start to miss him.
Hearing the sound of the faucet didn’t help how tired you were, returning from a long day of mundanity, as boring as attending a school that teaches how to exorcise curses could be. Still you forced yourself to stay awake, prefering to fall asleep in Megumi’s arms above all.
He returned without much fanfare, you were fighting sleep and all you did was open your arms before he jumped into them letting out a small ‘oof’ at the impact.
If someone asked you where the best place in the world was, wrapped in Fushiguro’s arms is beyond comparison. Much better than any sight you could hope to see and softer than any thousand thread count pillow.
His smell, some combination of detergent and the gums he chews but uniquely his. It was intoxicating, and you couldn’t be happier. Small moments like these were what you treasured the most.
It took only 3 seconds for you to become wrapped up in him and another 3 before you were drifting off. In between dreamland and him, the sound of Itadori’s voice quickly broke you out of your lovey dovey stupor.
“HEY YOU TWO, GOJO-SENSEI SENT ME TO CHECK ON YOU-”, before either of you could react, Itadori slid the door open and he, Kugisaki, and Gojo’s heads all popped in.
“Awwww, look at them!”
“No thanks, I’d like to not gag at the two lovebirds.”, replied Nobara who, despite her words was recording this whole interaction.
Gojo-sensei hadn’t even responded, the flash from his and Nobara’s phones blinding the both of you.
Well, so much for falling asleep in your boyfriend’s arms.
Megumi tensed and you could feel your evening slipping away as he shouted, “GET OUT!”
